📚New read : A Love Letter to Whiskey 📚

AHHH I LOVED AND HATED THIS BOOK SO MUCH 😭😭 the push and pull of it all. They were so close so many times to getting the timing right 🤣 whiskey I adore him . He didn’t care about timing he was always ready for her . I’m happy she got over herself eventually because I was yellinggggg at this girl throughout the whole book.

When she tried to act like nothing happened and went over with the tacos ? That was funny. Whiskey was not trying to play her little games 🤣 she almost got me with the ending because of the way she worded it. 🙄

🚨Final Review : 8.7/10 🚨

review: The first time I read this I overlooked the third act conflict, falling in love with the story can make a girl blind. Giving it some thought, the only 'bad' thing I didn't like was the last 10%.. spoiler: third-act breakup that made no sense

The first chapter is now my favorite chapter of all time. I could reread it every day and still find myself blushing uncontrollably

omg yes i love reading!! i really enjoy contemporary romances and literary fiction. after finishing a good book, i always feel very inspired to write 🙂‍↕️ list of recs below!!

my favorite romances are

• “sunny disposition” by deanna gray (tall black sunshine female lead… have never felt more seen. wanted to cry when it ended)

• “seven days in june” by tia williams (second chance romance which i know isn’t a super loved trope but fr it’s done so well and is so heartbreaking in the best way)

• the brown sisters series by talia hibbert (there’s three books in this series and my fav was “act your age, eve brown” - VERY smutty lmao)

• “sinful vow” by asia monique (i’m not usually one for assassin/mafia but the hold this book had on me…)

i def gravitate towards romances with black female leads, but here are some i really enjoyed that aren’t in that category

• “blind side” by kandie steiner (fake dating, smutty)

• “the brightest light of sunshine” by lisina coney (best friends to lovers, SLOW BURN, and i love a male lead that’s a sweetheart)

• “the long shot” by kennedy ryan (very heavy so i recommend reading the tw’s but so so so good and gut-wrenching)
