so i read your fic and i really really like your bc of kaito smelling like vanilla and how shinichi finds comfort in that scent, it’s cute how he gets all sleepy all around kid, not because he’s bored but just because he’s tired and there’s finally some sort of comfort it’s actually so sweet, i love how you wrote their dynamic.

are there any other things you headcanon about these two sillies? i wanna know some other peoples opinions on them

tysm for reading my fic, I'm glad you liked it, I was worried about it not being up to people's expectations bc it was my first ever kaishin or dcmk fic in general.

You did get the point I wanted to let out through the fic perfectly. Shinichi gets sleepy around kaito because he feels comfort around him for a reason he doesn't really know, and because kaito smells like vanilla, he associates said comfort to that scent, and that's why he gets a candle at the end of it hehe

I do have some more headcanons about these two, I think about them a lot and I kind of had a whole ass list in my head,

Okay a little list here of my kaishin headcanons just bc i said so

- shinichi likes a lot of things about kaito, they're very specific and very little but he wants to always be around for those specific things.

Those include Kaito's morning voice, the way he smells like vanilla (because of his shampoo or shower gel or whatever), his hands for whatever reason (he thinks they're interesting to watch them at work, especially if picking locks), and the way kaito can always make shinichi laugh when he's trying to act serious (he would never admit it though)

- kaito also likes a buncha things about shinichi, he thinks they're stupid and would never admit them to shinichi.

Those include the way shinichi smells like coffee (but he's dramatic and acts like he hates it), the way he rants about his interests and keeps going on and on for god knows how long (but kaito will sit and listen to every damn word like the idiot in love he is), shinichis focused face when he's trying to figure out something (his furrowed eyebrows and hand on his chin and all), and also.... his "football thighs"

- they're both hopless for one another in different ways .

Shinichi is more of quiet, just yearning from afar, his ass would never make a first move

Kaito is more out going about it, he flirts and kisses and has no sense of personal space and acts like they're already together before they even get together

Shinichi has autism, I'm 101% convinced and no one can tell me otherwise. I'm self projecting. And his special interest is sherlock holmes because his ass knows too much and won't stop .

Kaito is adhd, he diesnt have it, he IS it. That's just how it works.

I was thinking bi shinichi, starts as fem leaning when he first figures it out but over time finds out he's more men leaning.

Then there's pan kaito, he gen likes anyone, he doesn't give two shits about gender anymore

- I think in uni they'd have total different paths.

Shinichi going for police dep obvi just bc he has to be his detective self as always, kaito is no way near, he hates cops and will act allergic to his own boyfriend of he ever sees Shinichi wearing a cop outfit or something like that, would probably hiss at him like a cat hisses at water until he changes his clothes

Kaito would do gemology in uni, he knows a lot about gems, he's seen a lot of gems, he's stolen a lot of gems, so why not do things related to it for a living. He's probably opening a little jewelry shop after that, maybe after all the kaitou kid stuff is over a d he just wants to settle calmly

There were two songs that triggered this in my head: casate conmigo by Nicky Jam and Silvestre Dangond y despasito by luis fonsi (how many years has it been since I heard it? I was still in primary school, damn it) and honorable mentions like felices los 4, bailando and even limbo*! (*by daddy yankee)

I’m curious, do you have any voice canons that you thing the mbnssb characters would sound like?

I don't really, tbh! I'm not very good at imagining voices ahaha but just pulling from some of my favorite characters/lowkey (or highkey) sources of inspiration, I can see Kaito sounding like Tsukki from Haikyuu!! (Koki Uchiyama, who fun fact also voices Shigaraki in MHA and Mithrun in Dungeon Meshi lol); Karin sounding like Kagura from Gintama (Rie Kugimiya); and. I would be lying if I didn't admit that Maki likely sounds just as much like Yuji from JJK as he looks like him LMAO (Junya Enoki)

(Not So) Temporary

“It’s funny,” Chikage said, “how people think you have class.” She ran her fingers through Toichi’s hair as she laid beside him.

Toichi laughed against her chest. “You did,” he said, looking at her through his eyelashes.

“For all of five minutes until we had an actual conversation,” Chikage said. She tugged his hair lightly. Toichi grinned at her, smug as ever. “Your class is as much an illusion as any of your tricks.”

“Harsh. How ever shall my heart recover from such a scathing review.” He pretended to swoon even though he was already lying down.

Sometimes Chikage wondered why she humored him. He was ridiculous. She tugged his hair again, a bit harsher, and he snuggled into it like a friendly dog.

“You like my classlessness.”

“Hm.” For a while there, she’d thought they hadn’t had anything in common, just a vapid surface attraction. A bit of whirlwind romance, a little unwise horizontal tangoing, and then she fully expected him to be out of her system. Unfortunately, he’d charmed her against her better judgment.

“If I asked you to marry me, milady?” Toichi asked, catching her hand just to kiss the back of it. Like he’d done the week before. And the week before that.

He was as persistent as he was dramatic. Chikage should tell him no. Instead, she tugged her hand free. “I’d tell you to ask again another time. Maybe then your luck would be better.”

“Ah, but I will have to charm Lady Luck herself at this rate,” Toichi teased. He gave a kiss to the closest bit of skin, which happened to be her breast.

Chikage unceremoniously shoved him off. Afterglow was over, back to business. “I wish you all the good fortune in trying,” she said as she looked for her underwear.

Toichi watched her shamelessly, a half-smile on his lips. “Shall we head to Prague next? There’s a nice theater there I can perform at.”

“And Prague has nothing to do with a recently bought moonstone pendant,” Chikage said.

“Well, I imagined it might catch your interest.”

“Our interest.” He seemed intent on becoming a thief as well. Sometimes she wondered if he was romancing her just to steal all her skills. Still, if that was the case, he didn’t need to ask for marriage every other week. Sometimes she truly didn’t understand him. “Prague sounds nice.”

Toichi grinned, open and joyful. It made him much more attractive than the suave mystery he kept going for. Honestly, if she were to ever say that, she bet he’d be too embarrassed to show his real emotions to her face again.

Chikage really should cut him off and go back to her life alone.

If only he wasn’t so good in bed.

A warm arm caught her round the middle as she tried to get her bra back on. “If we’re headed in the same direction, we could just share a room…”

“Not today, Romeo. Put your pants on.” His underwear were shoved into his face unrepentantly. Chikage enjoyed his sputtering.

She wasn’t going to say yes to his proposals. Not anytime soon anyway. He was persistent and annoying and flattering and terrible all at the same time. It would be stupid to go for him, especially when he didn’t have much to give in return. He was a magician, famous, yes, but not old money. Not something stable and safe and sane to choose if she ever gave up her life as a thief.

“One more kiss for the road?” Toichi asked, already taking a kiss at the knob of her spine between her shoulder blades.

Chikage elbowed him for the presumptuousness. “I have packing to do,” she said. “And so do you if you’re serious about Prague.” She turned around and flicked him between the eyebrows. He pouted like a child. He probably could have wrapped adults around his fingers as a child. Pick pockets while no one would even suspect the wide-eyed, beautiful child right in front of them. Chikage would know; she used that sort of thing to her advantage before. “Goodnight, Toichi.”

“Goodnight, My Lady,” he said, letting go.

At least he respected when she was serious. She’d have cut him out already by now if he didn’t, good in bed or not. If he was using her to learn her skills, she supposed she could use him right back. A magician’s skillset would go well with what she already had in her arsenal. Chikage knew better than to fall for someone who piled mask upon mask to make themselves bigger and brighter and nicer than they really were, just like she did. She’d just let this play a bit further. Until it stopped being fun. That was surely fine, right?

(She gets pregnant two months later. Chikage had a choice then. She made it. And Phantom Lady had a quiet retirement)

i was just thinking i only have like 2 characters in vocabytes that are fat and i need more variety in the characters so. to my vocal synth mutuals; which characters do you headcanon to be chubby / not thin. i'll try to make a vocabytes oc out of them

I had a lot of half-finished lore that's been sitting in my head. I'm not even sure how much of this I want to put to my canon, but it was nice to find a way to say some of it.

Also, Kaito has way too much dirt on Kazuichi and would unintentionally destroy her entire cishet image (or whatever's left of it that Kaz herself hasn't destroyed yet) in like two minutes of gushing about her when she was a little kid. I swear Kaito means well and he regards Kaz like a little sibling that's very dear to him, but he also carelessly embarrasses the hell out of her (tbh Gundham and Sonia would probably have more respect for Kaz rather than less if they found out all this).

kaitos ftes feel like something a kid would dream up while playing alone in the backyard and that makes me sad for him. grand adventures while making friends and fighting beasts? classic lonely child daydreams

That's the impression I got too to be honest?? I mean I know the v3 backstories are all a bit over the top but Kaito's ftes really give off childish daydream vibes.. which makes it kinda strange that he would relay this to Shuichi the way he did in game.

NAME: Kaito, Kai. GENDER: Male. He / Him. AGE: He claims to be 20. Doesn't actually know. ORIENTATION: ??? Whatever man. HEIGHT: 170cm. 5'5. SPECIES: Merfolk / Vampire. ( vampire squid )

Kai was born with vampirism, as most his species are. ( i am aware actual vampire squid are not blood suckers!! ) Due to them being from the deep sea, vampire squid mer are far and few between. Most of them preferring to remain thousands upon thousands of meters below the surface. Kai however is a rare exception to this-- his reasoning for leaving his home is unclear.

kai is very pale, not just due to their nature-- but also because the sun does not reach his home. he's got black hair with a subtle red gradient, and blue eyes. he keeps a cloth mask on most of the day to hide his teeth. which are a bit hard for me to describe so this image ref will have to do. they use these to puncture skin regardless of how tough it may be, to drink blood.

he can survive off of other foods, but it's not going to be the same. he needs to drink blood to maintain his stamina and energy at full. it's similar to how feeing a rabbit only carrots is bound to end poorly. food is delicious, but doesn't hold the same nutritional value for him as blood does.

he has an extremely high resistance to toxins and poison. as well as a powerful immunity to the cold. he does however overheat rather easily. and does not do well when exposed to extreme heat.

vampire squids cannot spew ink. but they do spew bioluminescent mucous. kai can do this too, but really tries not to. it's messy and gross. that said though he has a great deal of bioluminescent markings and parts on his body. most of which are visible only when he's in his mer form.

sunlight wont kill kai, but it makes him uncomfortable. so he wears a lot of clothing to cover as much of his skin as he can when he's outdoors.

he's actually quite care - free, laid back, and a bit of a flirt( though kai usually doesn't mean it haha ). but he's deeply loyal to those who he's grown close to. and will risk his life to protect the few connections he's managed to form. kai is intimately familiar with loneliness, being from the deep deep sea-- so those he forms bonds with are immeasurably valuable to him.

most people imagine their self inserts as part of the fictional character they're in love with's universe but i can't stop cackling at the scenario (even though i like it) where 1. vocaloids are real people, 2. kaito fled / moved out of japan and ended up in my neck of the woods in the tristate area in america, and 3. somehow met me, who never goes outside, and ends up mutually falling in love with me

you know as much as i don't think byron arclight is the type of guy to oppose adopting kids it does feel somewhat unlikely to me that the boys are adopted considering just. the theming of his monsters & his general aesthetics. like the iconography of his chains being dna themed to represent feeling chained to your family. and names like genome heriter and progenitor feel intentionally like. yeah they are his bio kids

which is so fucked up, none of them look alike, and particularly michael looks nothing like his father. at least thomas has his dad's eyes to some extent and you can kinda see the resemblance with chris but. look all my theories on this are gonna have to be reaches i think

please don't be alarmed by the not for me square!!!! i just chose that because i used to absolutely love him, he is still very special to me but ive just been so obsessed with sdr2 lately that i haven't thought of him in a while, and i felt that square represented that feeling best :)
