The second part is wrightworth household, they're really fun to play with! We also have a few pets since we got cats and dogs on a sale! So Klav and Apollo have Mikeko and Vongole (this was before we made Kristoph.. otherwise he would've gotten his dog, OKAY), and Phoenix and Miles have Pess, and since Kay and Trucy live with them, of course Kay took in the silliest, crustiest stray cat. His name is Gepetto <3

“What?! Have a little faith in me why don’t ya??” You can tell the smiles evident in his voice as he places a chaste kiss on the top of your head.

You giggle once again, finding his childish request laughable. Once you finally reach your destination after what felt like a forever duration of walking due to Gojo being extremely careful for you not to bump into anyone, you can feel him lean down and his breath tickles your ear as he speaks.

“Okay, on the count of three sweets, kay?”

“Kay!”

“One, two, three!!” As he shouts the three with such excitement he takes his hands off your eyes, now revealing the grand surprise Gojo had planned for you two.

And oh my, it was a grand surprise - he wasn’t kidding.

“Toru..isn’t this?-“

“Yes, yes it is.”

“…”

“But, Toru isn’t it-“

“Uh-huh”

“…”

“But Toru it looks so-“

He places a finger over your lips, still smiling as he leans closer to your face.

“Why are you asking so many questions, sweet girl?”

You pout, furrowing your eyebrows.

“It looks so expensive..I don’t want you to waste that kind of money, especially for a first date..”

His smile fades into a look of confusion, tilting his head to the side.

“What? Are you crazy?” He begins, leaning back up and placing his hands on his hips.

“This type of money I choose to spend practically deserves to be spent on you!”

“But why?” You ask.

He sighs dramatically, making tutting sounds with his mouth as he shakes his hand and his smile returns.

“So many questions..its because i like you, silly girl.” He boops your nose, earning a blush from you as you melt at his words. He extends a hand out to you, in which you take without anymore questions.

“Now, I desperately need to try the newest flavour of kikufuku that they have!”

CHUUYA NAKAHARA

• I honestly think Chuuya and Gojo have similar tastes in woman.

• But Chuuya especially doesn’t care for the looks, he cares for the personality.

• But overall, I believe he loves a woman who is well organised and has a rather calm nature.

• Not that he wouldn’t mind having a bubbly cutie, just that he wouldn’t be able to keep up with her excitement or match her energy.

• He loves a woman to be carefree and kind, not mean or bratty.

• He wouldn’t want to take care of someone who acts like a child, he wants someone who takes care of themselves thoroughly and can manage things on their own.

• I can imagine he’d love to see his S/O in red.

“Chuuya, it’s absolutely beautiful..” You say breathlessly as you stare at the gorgeous gold necklace you have in your grasp.

“What can I say? The best for the best. You wan’ me to help you put it on?”

You nod with a sweet smile graced on your lips.

At this he smiles wider, getting up from his seat as he comes over behind you to take the necklace off your hands and place it around your neck, clasping it together as you feel his cold hands on the back of your neck.

The atmosphere was beyond perfect. Nobody in sight besides you, him and one or two waiters in sight as the slow piano music fills the comforting silence in the room as he helps you with the jewellery, his movements careful and gentle.

It was all so romantic, so perfect.

He heads back to his seat, sitting down and looking at you with so much love in his eyes that if anybody within his work life saw him like this, they wouldn’t believe it.

“So, why here?” You ask, your beautiful smile tinted in red lipstick was all Chuuya could focus on as of now, before returning his gaze to your eyes.

“Just thought for a first date I’d do something special for ya, doll.” He says, stretching his arm out as he props his other elbow up on the other side of the table, returning to place his cheek on there once again.

“I don’t get to do this often, considering my job. So I don’t want you to think I’m all talk and don’t do, y’know?”

At this you giggle, reaching out for his extended arm as you take his hand, your hands meeting and intertwining at the middle of the table.

“I know you’re anything but that, Mr. Nakahara.”

He chuckles, bringing your hand up to his lips to press a kiss on your knuckles, staring at you whilst doing so.

“I knew from the very first moment that you were gonna be mine, and now i have ya.”

What do you think Kai would be like as a boyfriend if he had a genuine/healthy bond with someone?

For being one of the funniest characters in tvdu, I don’t think we ever even saw someone laugh at one of his jokes, so I’ve always been curious what it would’ve looked like if just one person matched his energy or at least accepted him

first thank you !! for saying he's funny !! you're right no one really appreciates his humor in the show and its one of the silliest choices imo. like you can admit the scary man has jokes, guys, it's not going to kill you. (oof sidenote but him and Jo having the same humor/picking on each other is one of my fav things!)

if he was out and about making his lil comments and someone started giggling a few seats down at the bar i truly think he'd combust. also probably be like "....me? you - you're looking at me? you think i'm funny ??? 😳 AnD CUte ?? really????" and then try immediately to be cooler about it but like, he's screaming crying throwing up inside

canonically we also know he liked it when bonnie matched the more aggressive/argumentative side of his personality, so i don't think he'd be able to be with someone that didn't pick at him a little. you gotta be able to tease him back but also like .. not take it too far cause he 100% can't take as much as he can give lmao (one older sibling to another we're a lot more sensitive than we pretend to be)

basically i think kai needs:

somebody grounded to keep him from totally flipping out

but who is also willing to fight for what they believe in

spontaneous and playful - but also thoughtful and mindful of his mood swings

kind enough to love him completely despite his past

and supportive enough to help him rebuild the coven

so...yeah, bonnie, basically lol

i think s6 kai at minimum needs to be with a witch that is willing to share power, and s8 kai needs a vampire or heretic. s6 kai could make it work with a human but pre-merge you're risking a lot, and then if you put s8 kai with a witch/human, he's turning them no questions asked so we better hope they're okay with it. (let's just leave legacies kai out of this, okay? he is a different breed)

i picture him being touch starved like you wouldn't believe, so super super clingy and probably jealous at least in the beginning of a relationship. that would go for friendship, too, honestly.

i think it would be really hard for him to a. wrap his head around someone picking him and then b. allow them to also pick other people. i don't think he'd throw a klaus sized tantrum, he'd be more petty about it: "oh sorry i just assumed you liked damon now since you said you liked his hair today and yEaH i was listening from three tables over watching the whole thing don't lie i SAW HOW YOU SMILED AT HIM-,"

but like he'd mellow with that as time went on and he starts to believe he can trust being loved. on that note i think he'd need a lot of reassurance but simultaneously be embarrassed/unsure of how to ask for it. some fights would happen as he works through how to regulate himself, but i don't picture it being a delena level of toxic. kai is more self aware/honest about himself so even when he's making poor choices he's like "woah hold on, why am i doing this ?? ah yes, that's why" and i think he'd get to a point where he knows his triggers and can help a partner figure out how to avoid them/talk through them.

so think like "my boy only breaks his favorite toys" vibes. he's so sure things are going to be taken from him/stuff can't be trusted that he'll mess it up first to hopefully make it hurt less. but with time a partner could help him see that he can have nice things !! love is real !! id love to see him build up the coven/a friend group/family with a partner beside him and just !! enjoy life lmao

i think a common hc is that he's Always the dominate one, but we all saw him in those chains, boy's totally a switch. (i also personally hc that 1994 kai is virgin!kai, but that's a story for another day). still tho i do think control is a big thing for him so he's definitely more comfortable being the one in charge. with trust comes wanting to mix things up tho so that's nice all around.

@lovelyhan ok two things i love the most — one: kai’s writing will always get me out of a reading slump. i re-read their fics an ungodly amount of times, like i actually need to be blocked by them ( i definitely didn’t re-read inflection point again TODAY on my lunch break, nope! i didn’t! 😂……) TWO: kai is literally so sweet and funny and we don’t really talk much, but from what i know, they’re a really great person and anyone would be lucky to have them as a moot! ^^

Summary:

Akira Tachibana, a reserved high school student and former track runner, has not been able to race the same as she used to since she experienced a severe foot injury. And although she is regarded as attractive by her classmates, she is not interested in the boys around school.

While working part-time at the Garden Cafe, Akira begins to develop feelings for the manager—a 45-year-old man named Masami Kondou—despite the large age gap. Kondou shows genuine concern and kindness toward the customers of his restaurant, which, while viewed by others as soft or weak, draws Akira to him. Spending time together at the restaurant, they grow closer, which only strengthens her feelings. Weighed down by these uncertain emotions, Akira finally resolves to confess, but what will be the result?

Alternatively: The main girl works at a diner and misses being able to run. Main guy is the boss at the diner and misses writing.

Propaganda:

It feels like a lot of folks didn’t give this a fair chance because they thought it would be an age gap romance, when it really is more about friendship between the MCs. Don’t be turned off by the opening. It’s cute, but all from MG’s POV. The art is pretty, and Aimer’s “Ref: rain” is one of my favourite songs now, besides it being a beautiful ending theme. Depending on how old you are, you might relate more with one MC over the other.

#C2: Hitori Bocchi’s ○○ Lifestyle (HitoriBocchi no MaruMaru Seikatsu)

Summary:

Many of us know what it is like to transition to a new school with few to no friends in a new environment, going through the arduous process of getting to know people again. Bocchi Hitori knows this struggle all too well, having just graduated from elementary school and thrown into middle school. Unfortunately, she suffers from extreme social anxiety: she faints when overwhelmed, vomits when nervous, and draws up ridiculously convoluted plans to avoid social contact. It does not help that her only friend from elementary school, Kai Yawara, will not be attending the same middle school as Bocchi. However, wanting to help her, Kai severs ties with Bocchi and promises to reconcile with her when she befriends all of her classmates in her new middle school class.

Even though Bocchi has no faith in herself, she is determined to be friends with Kai again. Summoning all of her courage, Bocchi takes on the daunting challenge of making friends with her entire class, starting with the delinquent-looking girl sitting in front of her…

Propaganda:

This is a fun and lighthearted show. Watch it if you need something cute to chill out! The art is cute and colorful, the music lively, and the animation fine enough.

As it's adapted from a four-panel gag manga, the story is simple and focuses on the various characters. They all have pun-based names related to their main personality trait, so they're easy to remember if you know some basic Japanese (Hitori Bocchi means all alone, for example). The girls are all adorable and fun in their own quirky ways, and I loved seeing the heroine doing her utmost best to overcome her fears -and other challenges- to befriend them in the hope of fulfilling her promise. That's the power of the Do-Your-Best Fairy! They all care for each other (despite some teasing) and help Bocchi with her monumental task, never pulling her down for her struggles but gently pushing her in the back when needed.

But most importantly, Hitori Bocchi is a very relatable character. As someone suffering the same trouble, I related a lot with Bocchi, from her silliest worries to her escalating panic and weird schemes in an attempt to prevent anything wrong. Anxiety is faithfully represented, mixed with the right amount of laughing to how far Bocchi can get to avoid fearful situations in her very cute ways. It feels good to see a character like me in a such positive light! The struggles are real and acknowledged, and it’s really moving to see our heroine overcome them little by little in a very humanizing way.

This series has become one of my comfort materials, and I come back to it when I need hope and inspiration in everyday social interactions! IT Department AU

After several months of helping Taemin with the silliest and strangest technical issues, Kai receives another email from him. Except this time it isn’t to fix a disconnected HDMI cable or figure out why his computer volume won’t go below 76 (that had actually stumped Kai for a while, but he managed to fix it within an hour, which only put a bigger smile on Taemin’s face since he apparently tried for a few days to fix it on his own before putting in a ticket for it). Instead, this email is a happy hour invite with a few people who Kai has learned sit in Taemin’s row.

There’s the loud laugher: Kibum. The dude with several soccer posters in his cube: Minho. And the guy Kai is pretty sure is their boss because he has a window cube: Jinki.

There’s also a few others who Kai either doesn’t know or has only ever met while crossing paths in the bathroom or break room.

It sounds fun enough. And Taemin has mentioned in the email specifically that the place has cheap fruity drinks during happy hour. It doesn’t take much to convince Kai.

He accepts immediately, and Taemin messages him right after saying how fun it’s going to be because they haven’t had a happy hour in months.

“Your first drink is my treat!” Taemin tells him when they sit down the Friday. “Since you fix my computer and shit at least twice a month.”

“Oh, it’s no problem,” Kai says quickly, waving his hands. “It’s literally my job.”

“I know, but I know I’m really annoying and they always send the new guys to me to haze them, so the least I can do is buy you a crappy cocktail.”

Taemin’s still got the big grin on his face that he always does, so Kai just smiles right back and says, “Alright. But only the first drink!”

They become fast friends, learning they have a lot more in common than they initially thought. They even went to the same university and graduated at the same time.

“How have I never met you?” Kai balks, sipping at his third drink.

“I wasn’t the conputery type in college,” Taemin shrugs, and it makes Kibum who’s sitting across from them snort a little too loud. “But I had a friend who did computer science, maybe you know him? Ravi?”

“Oh shit, yeah I know Ravi!”

“Really?”

“Yeah, we’re pals!”

“This is great!”

They have several mutual friends it turns out. And all throughout college, they always lived one building apart.

“I lived in dorm J,” Jongin tells him. “During freshman year.”

“Fuck off! I was in K!”

“The one that always did the tours?”

“Yeah, it fucking sucked.”

“Harsh.”

“I lived in Spruce apartments after that, the ones on campus,” Taemin says.

“No way, so did I!”

“No way no way. Which one? I was 23A,” Taemin says.

“I was 23H!” Kai shrieks. “Literally on the other side! And up the stairs!”

“This is too weird,” Taemin laughs, clinking his glass with Kai’s. “Imagine all the shit you could have fixed for me in college!”

That sends several others into fits of badly hidden giggles, but Taemin just still looks so sincere as he smiles a little drunkenly at Kai.

“You two are like a match made in IT heaven,” Minho teases, and Kibum laughs right along with him.

A couple hours later, Kai walks Taemin to his car, a little worried.

“Are you sure you’re good to drive?” he asks softly. “I can totally give you a ride.”

“I mean,” Taemin sighs, rubbing the back of his neck. “I was gonna call an Uber as soon as you walked away, but yeah, maybe, a ride would be cool.”

He looks embarrassed and his face is all flushed pink, and Kai is sure it’s not just from the alcohol.

“C’mon,” Kai says, leading Taemin across the parking lot. “You can tell me more about how crazy Ravi was outside of class. I’m dying to know.”

It makes Taemin giggle, and he when they’re in the car, he puts his address into Kai’s phone to get directions.

They talk about silly things on the ride to Taemin’s, like college parties and cartoons and why Kai refuses to drink tequila anymore. Once they get to Taemin’s apartment, he even walks him up the stairs.

“You know, actually, Ravi is my roommate now too,” Taemin laughs. “Wanna come say hi?”

And suddenly it’s like Taemin and Kai have known each other for years, they just fit so well with each other.

A friend of mine highkey just fucking implied that BenKai is healthy because they "negate each other". As in Ben is the only one that can handle Kai's bitchiness and Kai's the only one that can reign in Ben's ego. Not paraphrasing. She really said that. And I was like, bitch, put it up That's Ben Tennyson abuse ma'am you're going to jail—

Oh no. No no no I hate this argument. Prepare yourself. I’m about to go off…

First of all, Ben probably has the most humble “cockiness” I’ve ever seen. 

We all know those people (or at least have run into them at some point) that act as if they’re entitled to the entire world for no reason. 

Ben actually has a reason to be proud of himself, but does he ask for any more than a little credit? No.

He doesn’t demand fame and fortune in return for risking his life everyday. He barely even demands respect (that he deserves)!

He called himself “adorable” once (he’s right) and everyone somehow got it into their heads that his “ego” is extremely inflated. 

So much so that now they think he deserves to be stepped on - metaphorically and literally - in order to be a better character somehow. It’s just as bad as people who think that Ben has to actually lose someone close to him, like Max, in order to “really” mature.

Anyway, the reason Ben can handle her “bitchiness” is BECAUSE HE’S TOO GOOD FOR HER. 

How many times has Ben had to cooperate with people he didn’t particularity like or agree with in order to reach a common goal? 

How many times has Ben forgiven others and given them second chances even when they didn’t seem deserving? 

He literally made peace with aliens who previously wanted to kill, not only him, but EVERYONE IN THE UNIVERSE. He even made friends with one who was spitting insults in his face practically half of “Alone Together.”

He’s all about saving lives. Do you people know what that entails? 

What do we do with criminals? 

Either one of two things: punish those whose crimes are unforgivable, or attempt to correct their mindset, outlook, and behaviour in order to reintegrate them into society. 

Considering Ben’s “second chances” philosophy, which one do you think he leans towards more whenever reasonably possible?

What I’m saying is that proves it’s in character for him to be cooperative rather than begrudging and vengeful.

It’s the begrudging and vengeful attitude that drives his enemies to keep coming back in attempt to end him. But as we know, it’s not productive. 

Holding a grudge implies being stuck in your ways. And, because Kai’s attitude towards Ben hasn’t changed much since they were ten, even after he saved her multiple times, in a sense, she is stuck in her ways as well. She’s stubborn.

And that is another argument people like to bring up to validate this pairing - that both Ben and Kai are stubborn. They have “similar flaws”, apparently.

But Ben is a different kind of stubborn. He never backs down but he’s always fighting the good fight.

Kai, on the other hand, is fighting the good guy.

I think the silliest argument I’ve heard in attempt to validate the claim that Kai is a good match is that she “fits” into his action lifestyle. Basically, unlike Julie, Kai doesn’t seem to have an issue with Ben being a full time superhero, so that automatically makes her more “suitable.“ 

But shouldn’t that be expected of someone dating a superhero?

By supporting your significant other’s passion, you are doing what you should be. It’s literally the bare minimum of being decent.

Am I supposed to be impressed by the bare minimum??

Besides, just because two people are in the same field of work doesn’t automatically mean they have chemistry. Being in the same line of work just means they’re in the same line of work. 

And, going back to my point about Ben’s second chances philosophy, they definitely wouldn’t work together so well if Ben wasn’t cooperating in the way he always tries to. 

The argument that they "negate” each other heavily undermines Ben’s character in order to attempt to place them on an equal level. 

Did Kai ever attempt to redeem herself for her “bitchiness”? No.

It just became a character trait. 

The truth is that everyone has flaws. And that’s not inherently a bad thing. A character having distinguishable flaws allows them to feel fleshed out. Flaws are a significant feature to focus on because they often stem from something deeper. The beauty is that, through character development, having flaws gives the character something to attempt to improve when their storyline and interactions with other characters provide them with chances to do so. 

You could see this with Kevin’s redemption, for example. Or even what is referred to as Ben’s “ego” throughout the continuity. 

But when Ben continuously gives Kai chances to be better, and she shuts him down, she ignores her own flaws. 

Notice that Ben doesn’t ignore what others perceive are his flaws. 

I say it like that because flaws are arguably subjective. But regardless, all those moments throughout the OS and UAF which show characters like Gwen, Kevin, Max, and even Azmuth critiquing Ben on his character actually did make an impact. Whether I think it was right or wrong is irrelevant to the fact that, by Omniverse, we had him explaining to an imaginary crowd what it actually means to be a hero.

“It’s about making a difference." 

In front of nobody but himself, where he could have just indulged in the fantasy, he put his “ego” aside to display the integrity of his character development by that point. 

If his ego was really so bad that it desperately needed to be squashed, then he wouldn’t be out here believing time and time again that everyone deserves a chance to be better.

Perhaps it’s because he has always taken that chance himself, knows the benefit of it and wants to see others improve as well rather than being vengeful or begrudging. 

Kai is a…tragic case, tbh. 

The fandom likes to daydream about her “potential” and what she could have been. But truth of the matter is that the writers chose to present her this way. If they wanted to have her some other way, wouldn’t they have done that? 

Whether it was to make her somewhat interesting by being a source of drama, I don’t know. All I know is that they crossed the line between dramatic and toxic very quickly, and possibly without realizing.

All of the TXT members were currently sitting in the living room and playing a game on the PS4 when somebody rang the doorbell.

Because the others were too busy to either notice it or too busy playing, Yeonjun was the one that walked over to the door and opened it, only to return with a pizza a few moments later.

“HYUNG! BLESS YOU!” Taehyun ran up to him and peeled the box out of his hands, returning to his cheering band members right away.

Funny how the game had been so important before that none of them could get up, but now suddenly they could press the freaking pause button.

“But I didn't even order pizza,” Yeonjun said in confusion, scratching the back of his head.

Soobin chuckled and waved the receipt in the air, “It's from the only girl that's interested in you and not even in a romantic way.”

Yeonjun rolled his eyes and ripped it out of his hands, only to find following message on the receipt: “You haven't answered my texts, so I just ordered you something so you can eat. Share it with the others, though. I'll know if you don't.”

Were you his mother or his best friend?

Probably a little bit of both.

And a few minutes later you got a selfie from the boys giving you a huge thumbs up and the pizza almost gone already.

“Good boy,” you chuckled.

Soobin was so freaking nervous.

This wasn't even their first performance, but it was the first one that was for a bigger audience and in a bigger venue. And since they've only recently debuted, he wasn't used to it all yet.

“Where are you?!” he texted you, his fingers already shaking.

It didn't take ten seconds before you responded: “On my way, you big baby. With your almond milk. I hope you know what a good best friend you have.”

He smiled when he read the message, putting his phone away and then beginning to pace up and down the room until the door got opened and your happy self showed up like it wasn't one of the biggest days in his life.

“Fear not, Choi Soobin. The rescue is here,” you pulled out the almond milk from your bag like it was treasure, then wiggled your eyebrows at him, “I can mix some alcohol in it if you want me to.”

“Just.. give me that!” he ripped it out of your hands and took a few big sips from it.

And even though it was something as simple as almond milk and you, it immediately put him to ease.

Or maybe that was just you.

Ever since Beomgyu debuted, he didn't have a lot of time for you anymore. But because you were a supportive best friend, you didn't mind. You were okay with him calling and texting you whenever he could and were even happier now when he did manage to make time for you.

As he did today.

The two of you wandered around Seoul, not really doing anything in particular. Being together was the most important thing today.

But something was off.. he seemed off.

“What's wrong?” you asked, your eyebrows furrowed.

“I'm walking around without a cap or a face mask.. yet nobody notices me,” he almost sounded offended, “I just debuted under BigHit and.. nobody notices me!”

That immediately made you laugh, “What, do you want hundreds of fangirls to chase you and tell you how amazing and wonderful you are?”

“Well.. yeah. A few of them would be nice.”

Well, you couldn't give him a few, but you could give him one.

You grabbed his arm and waited until he turned around before you started jumping up and down and screamed: “CHOI BEOMGYU, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, OH MY GOD YOU ARE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE MEMBER AND MY ULTIMATE BIAS, PLEASE MARRY ME SOME DAY AND HAVE A LOT OF CHILDREN WITH ME.”

“Eeeeew,” he wanted to pull his arm away from you but you were holding on so tight and continued to tell him stuff like that which made him cringe, but at the same time, laugh uncontrollably.

God, he had the silliest, yet most amazing best friend in the world.

“You have no idea how nice it is to be in a bed like this again,” Taehyun fell down on your king-sized bed and immediately closed his eyes, “I missed this.”

“What, is sharing a room with four other guys and sleeping in bunk beds not the dream of every man?” you chuckled and continued to fold your laundry.

He had come here unannounced, so you hadn't been prepared. Not that you needed to be prepared. You did stuff like this – meaning nothing – all the time when he was still a trainee and even before that.

“I'm hoping to convince BigHit that giving us normal beds is in their own interest. That it'll help our creative flow.”

“And you think they'll actually believe you?” you put your hands on your waist, your eyebrows raised, but a small smile on your face.

“Come on, I'm Kang Taehyun, the smartest member of TXT.”

“Keep telling yourself that, maybe it'll come true one day then,” you turned back around and wanted to continue picking the laundry out of the basket, but Taehyun had already pulled you back by your sweatpants until you were in bed with him and began to tickle you until tears were running out of your eyes.

Because how dare you disrespect Master Kang Taehyung like this, the smartest boy ever.

“And you're sure you'll have time?” you asked through your phone, worry clear in your voice.

“I'm sure, (Y/N).”

Since he moved and traveled so much when he was younger, it had been inevitable that his best friend turned out to be someone that wasn't from Seoul. And the downside of that was that he was barely able to see you nowadays.

But not this time..

..this time he would definitely come and see you.

“Just so you know, your schedule will also be packed here. My parents want to invite my grandparents over for us all to have dinner together, then they want to take us out to the amusement park with my cousins, then my other friends want to hang out with us like old times and we also promised to stop by our old school and..-”

“..-when are we going to spend time together then?” he laughed.

“Trust me, buddy. I won't let you out of my sight for even just a second during your stay here.”

“Good. Wouldn't have it any other way.”

So, chatting with my friend, Moezy, we were listing our top 10 (.5) anime guys that we liked in all anime and/or manga that we have watched/read...here is my list starting from 10.

10. Kogami Shinya from Psycho-Pass.

Badass and intelligent. I just love this guy. His backstory is a sad one, but it’s not something that he regrets. He can be a bit emotional, but really, who isn’t? What I like about him is that he knows what the right thing is morally, but he just can’t help his emotions. He knows when he is doing the wrong thing, but won’t run from it either and accepts the consequences of his actions. And he isn’t bad to look at either!

9. Roy Mustang from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

This guy is such a dork, but also badass. Powerful and smart, with a cool head (most of the time, which is funny, considering he uses fire). Like Shinya, he can also be a pretty emotional guy, and he uses his past as a reminder to not stray from his goal. He is also in one of my favorite ships, but that’s for another post. Also, did I mention he’s such a dork? lol

8. Yuri Lowell from Tales of Vesperia.

Now this guy is how you do a likable main character. Cocky and sarcastic and loves teasing his friends. He is also has a strong belief in stepping in and doing something about whatever wrongdoings is happening right in front of him, even if it means breaking the law and becoming a vigilante. He’ll do anything he can to set things right for those around him. Not so much of a sad past, but still a fun character! I love his sarcastic attitude at times.

7. Kai Hiwatari/Ray Kon from Beyblade 2001/V-force/G-Revolution

Okay I’m cheating a little bit here, but I just couldn’t decide who I liked more. Let’s begin: Kai: The cold emo Russian/Japanese boy with blue/gray hair. His past is extremely sad and it is understandable why he is such a cold jerk. However, I found his growth in the series amazing. He started off being forced to be a Team Captain for his group. This annoyed him to no end as he wanted nothing to do with the happy bunch. As time went on, however, he gained a soft spot for them and even started to become a real captain, giving advice and caring for their well-being. At first, he was prideful, so very prideful... but as time went on, that pride still remained, but only changed. He takes pride in beating his opponents fair and square and defending his comrades. (Despite betraying them 3 times in 3 seasons but...I chalk up the very first time to PTSD and mind-control of his past...other 2 times... well, that pride problem right?). Also, the irony, a cold emo FIREUSER. Right? lol

Ray: My Chinese catboy! Ray is very friendly and reserved. I was instantly drawn to him when I first saw him. Ray is one of the reasons why white tigers are my favorite animal. He will do anything for his friends and even a stranger if they need help. He always listens to both sides of the story before making a judgement and is the guy to go to for advice. Though later in the series, he does have his own personal battles which causes him to become a bit cocky and jerkish at times, but what can you expect from a nice guy who always put himself last and just wanted to do something for himself for once? Self-care, Ray! Self-care. And he isn’t the only catboy on this list...

6. Kimura Kouichi from Digimon Frontier

Another emo boy! But not a jerk like Kai. Kouichi’s past made me like this character so much and his struggle with his inner demons throughout the series is what made me love him. He was the first character to show me that the power of Darkness does not have to be evil, for without Darkness, there is no Light. He always holds a place in my heart is one of my favorite digi characters.

5. Eizen from Tales of Berseria

I wasn’t sure where to place Eizen. I had to think long and hard. At first I thought at putting him at 7, but then I realized I just loved this dork just a little more than the other characters. The comically serious... no seriously, this guy can fanboy at the silliest things with a straight face, like arguing over the name of a bug...or wanting to build underground tunnels...on an island... ...yeah... ANYWAY, I just love this guy because of his morals and creed. He never compromises his ideals and always faces the consequences of his actions. Yeah another one of those huh? Hm, starting to see a pattern here... Oh yeah, touch his little sister, and he’ll beat your face in and break all 10 of your fingers. Seriously, just...don’t touch Edna. Why couldn’t he be 1,000 years younger (2,000 in Zestiria...)? Such a badass long living adult!

4. Narumi Ayumu from Spiral. It’s a shame this manga isn’t that popular as Ayumu is a great character and his growth is amazing in the manga (not so much in the anime..) His growth is both sad and inspiring. He is such an inspiring character for me. He starts off as a stoic, with having no confidence in himself at all because of his brother, since he is constantly being compared to him and is reminded he can never be as good as his brother (I can relate)... but by the end of the series, despite all the sad things that has happened to him, he learned to smile in the end, no matter how painful. I really can’t go into details about why I love him so much, but you’ll just have to read the manga to find out why!

3. Niwa Daisuke and Dark from D.N.Angel

Yes I’m cheating again, but this is my list, okay?! Daisuke: I love this guy to death. A bit clumsy and timid, but never gives up. Always smiling and managing to find the best in people, even those who keep convincing him he is the enemy, he can end up friends with and change anyone with just that smile. However, even he is not all smiles and has his own concerns... even so, Daisuke doesn’t let such things get him down for long. He is a naturally empathetic person, and I have never seen him cry for himself. He cries for others, but also knows when to be reserved.

Dark: I wasn’t sure if I wanted Dark here or Hiwatari Satoshi, as they both have equally sad pasts. However, seeing as Dark lived for over 400 years and still manages to put up a cocky womanizing front to spare the feelings of others, Dark won out in the end. Again, can’t go into much detail, but the manga is amazing. I like Manga Dark so much more than his anime counterpart.

2. Sawada Tsunayoshi from Katekyo Hitman Reborn!

Ah yes my favorite series of all time....so then why is Tsuna at number 2?! Well, I’ll get to that when I get to number 1. Like Daisuke, Tsuna is a pretty empathetic person who cares for his comrades. He doesn’t necessarily have a sad past, but his growth is amazing in the series. Because he is around, he managed to help his friends through their own emotional turmoils and is just the light of the series to everyone.

1.5 Zeno from Yona of the Dawn/Akatsuki no Yona

Zeno and my number 1 favorite have ALOT in common, which is why I put him at a 1.5. Despite this, Zeno does have alot of things I like him for him. I love the fact that Zeno does not hesitate to help his family or be in pain for them when the situation calls for it. It is the only thing he can do to help and despite always being in pain, he would rather have all the pain in the world than to have pain inflicted on his family. That is what I love about him most. Of course, his silly childish side is so lovable too! Him and Eizen can talk about the suckiness of living a long life together...

1. Train Heartnet from Black Cat.

Of course, for this guy, I strictly talking about the manga, not the anime...the anime just does not show how awesome and badass he is.

Like Zeno, he is also a very empathetic person who always wants to protect his family. What I like about Train the most is, though, like Zeno, despite having one of the saddest pasts, and has all the reason in the world to go around being bitter and emo, he decides not to. He decides it’s better to smile, have fun, and make the most out of life. He does have some tendencies to become emo, but only when the situation calls for it. And despite being childish and silly, always having fun, he never let’s that get in the way of being serious and protecting those close to him when needed. He always tries to cheer everyone up in a bad situation, and is not above asking for help when he really needs it. Not to mention, he’s a catboy and left-handed at that, like me! All my favorite things in one!

First of all, Aang telling Katara and Sokka that he ran away randomly like that is totally ruining the emotional trajectory of this story. it’s like information is shared with the audience because at some point the audience learned it in the show--but guess what???? this is a big revelation for aang and so it should also have gravity and nuance not get slapped together like a ham sandwich ffs

SECONDLY Aang can never have a normal life? He can never have a family? OH YES HE CAN. What do you think this is? The Jedi order? Obvs the Jedi have problems but the whole thing with the Jedi is that there are a lot of them and they become family to each other and so they still have meaningful social connection. I loved that the Avatars were not like the Jedi and suggesting that they have to isolate themselves from all meaningful contact is just about the silliest thing I ever did hear fuck that

(also it occurs to me that maybe I should apologize because undoubtedly everyone else has had these thoughts over the last eight years and you all get to have dibs on that)
