After Picard Season 3
Elnor: Welcome, brother
Jack Crusher: Where the fuck am I?
Wesley Crusher: The discarded-by-Picard-as-a-parental-figure club. We meet every Thursday
Jack Crusher: Discarded? But I'm not—
Data: Do not worry young Jack. It is the way of things. Like one might describe a life cycle
Meribor: We all keep each other company while he goes off on his next adventure
Elnor: You never know how long your journey with him will last, but it always ends
Wesley Crusher: Seems yours ended pretty quickly though
Dahj: Could've had worse. I got about a day
Jack Crusher: Just how many of you are there?!?
Soji: Oh buddy. You don't even know

SNW has done a good job of creating a balanced mix of original characters, minor TOS characters given new importance, and major TOS characters in their early days. Let's hope they resist the temptation to shove the first two types out an airlock in favor of the third. (Am I still bitter about Picard? Hell yes.)

Big random list of things that NEARLY happened in Star Trek with no context or citation...
Harry Kim was to appear in Picard season 3 as a Captain (possibly of the Voyager-B)
Sarek was to use the Guardian of Forever to go back in time to become Surak of Vulcan, in a Next Gen episode
An episode was pitched where an NX-01 med tech played by Alice Krige was captured and assimilated by the Borg, becoming their queen
A Star Trek movie was almost made about undoing the Kelvin Universe, and would have had Shatner and Nimoy appear
They considered having Will Riker die, Data become first officer and Thomas Riker the Ops officer in TNG's "Second Chances"
JJ Abrams wanted Nichelle Nichols to cameo as the mother of Zoe Saldana's Uhura
The first season of Enterprise was to be set on Earth, culminating with the launch of NX-01 at the end of the season
They considered a shock reveal in ENT season 4 that it was actually the Vulcans who split off from the Romulans, and Romulus was their original homeworld
William Shatner wanted to return as Kirk from the Mirror Universe, in an Enterprise episode that involved time travel and creating the mirror universe with the transporter
Elnor was going to "explore his sexuality" in early Picard season 2 plans, before a change of showrunner and his character mostly vanishing
The ENT writers wanted Shatner to play Chef, a Kirk look-a-like hired by Daniels and trained to act Kirk-like to give an important speech at some point in history the real Kirk is mysteriously absent from
Data was originally created by mysterious aliens, and was to have a twin sister
Prodigy season 2 writers discussed having Chris Pine's Kirk from the Kelvin universe join the crew for a few episodes
In the originally filmed cut of Star Trek: Generations, Kirk is shot in the back and dies
Very early discussions for what eventually became Star Trek: Picard considered an adaptation of the Star Trek: Destiny novel trilogy
These discussions span off from a Short Treks pitch where a young cadet Jean-Luc Picard met Nichelle Nichols' Uhura
Early plans for the 2009 movie had wholesale destruction of the Prime universe, including the destruction of Earth. Thank Perpetual Entertainment for getting the destruction scaled back to Romulus so Star Trek Online had a Federation left to feature
There's was a story treatment written for Star Trek III: The Search for Spock where Spock stays dead
This one might be a little sus, but Christopher Pike in Discovery season 2 was planned to be very religious and fall to his knees at one point before the Red Angel, and clash with Michael over science vs faith
Early ideas for Star Trek Into Darkness had Benedict Cumberbatch as Robert April, former Enterprise captain turned rogue
Seven of Nine was going to sacrifice herself in order for Voyager to get home
A time travel Justice League of Trek movie by Brent Spiner, bringing together all eras of goodies vs all eras of villains, was considered
Spock shot JFK to fix the timeline in a proposed sequel to The Motion Picture
Ripper/Ephraim was originally going to be a regular, if giant tardigrade, crewmember on Discovery
Prior to Leonard Nimoy's involvement in what would become the 2009 Star Trek movie, a story outline was written about prime-universe cadets Kirk and Spock, in a story inspired by TNG's "The First Duty"
The Enterprise crew went through a black hole, back in time and introduced primative man to fire in another 70's movie script
A TNG movie was written where Picard summons a hologram of James T. Kirk for advice
George Kirk was to be found in the pattern buffer of the wrecked U.S.S. Kelvin 30 years later and resurrected
Voyager's EMH was originally to take on the name of his creator early on in the show, and the first Voyager novels call him "Doc Zimmerman" assuming it would have happened by publishing time
There's concept art where the U.S.S. Cerritos is a Galaxy-class starship
Riker was planned to dislike Data, and treat him poorly because he was an android
They considered making Troi's loss of powers in "The Loss" a permanent thing, because of how much hassle they caused the writing staff
Harry Kim wasn't originally planned to survive Species 8472

Picard s3e10 "The Last Generation"
I laughed, I cried, I cheered, but I'm not free of conflicts.
The artificial constraints of a 10 episode season are something I really feel acutely. So I'll start off with an acknowledgment: if OG Picard fans are furious, I get it. I don't share your anger, but I do understand it.
Spoilers ahead.
I broadly agree with the creaky older fan sentiment that in many ways Season Three is what Season One should have been. Primarily in that the absence of the rest of the main characters and centering Picard and Picard only and, to some extent, Data, was a disservice to the rest of the TNG ensemble.
A flaw that was rectified in Season Three. However, by rectifying it in Season Three and then committing to the story they were going to tell in the amount of minutes they were going to tell it in, a grim sort of triage inevitably was going to take place. The victims overwhelmingly were the characters and storylines of Seasons One and Two.
That was neither kind nor fair.
I won't pretend I didn't love this season. But I also was aware of and frustrated by what was missing because I am committed to the ideals I started this blog on: these are my self conscious reactions, reflections, and introspections rather than objective truths I live and die by and demand others validate, lest they be deemed "not real fans."
Now I myself will not be buying a ticket for the Matalas hate train. I think there was an awareness that a lot was being left on the cutting room floor to cater to fans like...well, me, and an attempt was made to offer an overture to a possible sequel series not unlike a "sorry for your loss" bouquet.
Should you view that as a fair consolation prize for only addressing Seven and Raffi's relationship with a couple of quips and an action movie one liner? Or literally forgetting Elnor?
Were I in your place, I probably wouldn't. But I sincerely hope we get that sequel show so that proper amends can be made.
Hopefully it will also include Worf so that the DS9ers can get justice for Jadzia.
Although, I am a bit pessimistic that its going to happen even with the overwhelmingly positive reception. Two overlapping ship focused shows seems unlikely unless Enterprise-G is a metaplot driven narrative show while Strange New Worlds is episodic with light sprinkles of meta. A prospect that I am kind of meh on. Season Three proves that you can do a season long narrative and it not get too bloated or convoluted and deliver a satisfying finish, but I don't know that its enough for me to trust the concept of the 10 episode version of a classic Trek two parter going forward. Five times burned, twice shy.
For those keeping score, that's seven seasons of serialized Trek with five that I think were not well executed overall, not unforgivably so, but they definitely had a clumsy adolescence as their shows matured. I liked Discovery season 4 quite a bit. I'm not on the "Discovery sucks" anti-hype train either, but I think the show has rather clearly been showing its work as it has struggled season after season to figure out its own unique identity and to balance that identity with the expectations of the broader Star Trek franchise, navigating the hellscape of the fandom and trying to figure out which parts have valid criticisms and which are misanthropes who are allergic to other people experiencing joy: and its been a messy process.
What also steals some of my euphoria from the ending of Picard is the announcement of the Section 31 movie.
I love Michelle Yeoh, I even like the character of Georgiou, but I don't trust anyone who has been involved in Trek to date, not even Ron Moore or Robert Hewitt Wolfe, to not resuscitate vile late 90s to mid-oughts nihilism and uncritical worship of "hard men making hard choices because the good are too effete and squeamish to do what must be done."
I know, I know, its negative for a Star Trek apologia blog but I hate Section 31. That's the only thing I'll ever gatekeep. Its a violent refutation of the core premises of Star Trek: that reason and decency win in the end and the endless fascination with constructing scenarios where characters have no other choice but to do near genocides, assassination, and other grimderp shenanigans really infuriates me. There are multiple franchises where I would accept that with zero qualms: Babylon 5, Star Wars, Farscape, Stargate, Battlestar Galactica*, the Expanse etc. but they don't have that same core premise that good wins because good is actually how you win.
*Although it got REAL tedious REAL quick because of how excessively Moore's Galactica leaned into this. Which is incidentally kind of why even though I admire the man, I kind of want to see him and Star Trek keep 500 feet from each other at all times. The guy is way too into torturing series leads. Save that for O'Brien, he lives on pain.
So, to recap.
Dear S1/S2 fans. I adored this ending: it was everything I love about TNG right down to Picard saving the day through warmth and decency. But I'm sorry you got screwed. This is not a zero sum game to me. I think there was a way we could have all been happy and it sucks that wasn't a priority.

Late self-DXed AuDHD realization no. I lost count:
Now I understand why I loved the Thermians so much.
I could relate.
It's not that didn't lie or couldn't lie, it's that in most cases I didn't understand the reason why one would lie. I didn't see the point.
The Thermians were honest, sometimes angry and aggressive (per their history), awkward, earnest, and caring. Open with their emotions, didn't catch onto certain social cues or deceptive tells or concepts, vulnerable to people like Sarris, justice-oriented.
Just like me.
Also makes sense how I came to love the Qo'wat Milat and Elnor in particular.

there isn’t a power in the world that’d get me to rewatch s3 of stp but i Swear I do in fact remember Jack being shoved in the brig bc he did a murder. Like, i mean, he was not convicted or anything but he was implicated and was going to be put on trial for this among other, smaller, crimes. I’m sure I didn’t make that up. He got out of the brig by trickery (though, he did do so to save the crew of the titan which is honourable, i’ll give him that).
And while the show Has had more than one member of the cast commit murder, so that isn’t exactly a moral judgement against him narratively even if he did kill somebody, the show has Also generally made a vague effort to portray a justice system. Agnes was cleared of murder charges because of that mind meld, proving that Yes, some kind of justice system is in action here.
Seven committed murder. Two, in fact. On screen. But the only person she told was Rios and he’s evidently not a snitch. Seven has not been put on trial because, frankly, she’s apparently just better at murder.
Elnor also had that head lopping off thing going on. I doubt Starfleet has record of this considering where it happened. Also arguments of self-defence may apply. I don’t remember exactly though, I didn’t like that episode (the exposition eps in serials Usually suck and that did not break trend imo).
So like... Did starfleet just decide to ignore that murder when all this chaos blew over? Was the murder a non issue? I mean it’s not like we can Add contextually to this him controlling crew members against their will to Knowingly cart his ass off to the borg queen which resulted in All That Death and Destruction and Trauma as well, which you’d think would result in Some consequences. Even if the consequences were a psych eval to determine his culpability. Even if they decided he was Not culpable, it would still have been a consequence of all this.
What i’m saying basically is that it canonically took Agnes a year to get off a murder charge due to somebody messing with her brain in Significantly less complicated circumstances than Mr. Borg Jr who Also had a murder charge against him.
Yet in a year He’s apparently been fast tracked through the academy that Should take years, only to be assigned to the flag ship, and be sat on a chair on the bridge as a Special Councillor.
I’ve not been this mad at white man bullshit in scifi since that fuckawful ad astra film where the protag commits muder in space bc he’s such a sad sad man and poor Him and goes back home scott free and then Gets The Girl as a reward.
I’m not even saying that Jack necessarily Would have been found culpable, it’s canon that people screwing with your brain Is a legal defence in this time bc we saw it with Agnes, and he quite obviously had weird things going on inside his head far out of his control making him act in ways he wouldn’t have done had it not happened, but it’s also canon that the system takes time in Far less complicated situations.
It also adds insult to injury that even if all the above wasn’t an issue, what happened at the end would Still be a travesty of nepotism and white man self insert characters. But it makes it So So So much worse in context.

Headcanon comparison time! 😁
(Note: NONE OF THIS is to say your headcanons are invalid or to start Ace Discourse! You are absolutely correct that noone can stop you, and also: I wouldn't dream of trying! I merely want to add my own perspective for a little compare and contrast, because in a twist that will be shocking to absolutely no-one, I have thoughts on this! 🤣)
Okay, so, my personal headcanon:
I'm completely with you on Seven and Elnor! I'm getting major aspec vibes from them, though, at least in the case of Seven, not necessarily sex-averse.
I think, personally, I don't see Rios as ace. Can't even say why, and it's not a hill I'd die on, but it's just not my interpretation of him. On the other hand, I do headcanon Ian (the Emergency Engineering Hologram) as ace, and in my mind, the holos all inherited a lot of their personalities from parts of Rios. So it would seem that I at least see aspec tendencies in Rios that he then passed on 🧐
I wonder about Soji. I could see it, given she's Data's "daughter", and Data was fairly clearly asexual, imo. So, this might be one of the traits that carried over through the fractal neuronic cloning process.
Then again, she was ultimately created by Altan Soong and Bruce Maddox, and those two seem like EXACTLY the kind of ignoramous/lech who would think creating a beautiful young woman who doesn't feel sexual attraction would be a tragic waste, or that sexual attraction is a fundamental part of being human. I would fully expect society as a whole to have abandoned that attitude centuries ago by the time ST:LAS startd, but I can see these two muppets sitting together over a glass of port or whatever and having philosophical discussions about how dtf their nubile creations should be 🙃 (Maybe I'm not doing them justice. Please don't come for me, Maddox-Stans and Soong-Hive 😅 But that's my read of that whole situation so far...)
So yeah, I'm not sure my headcanon of Soji is that she's aspec. But I think she's definitely questioning and when she's finally fully out from under three years of false memories and secret missions and a life controlled by Maddox, who knows where she'll end up!
Now, Agnes is... complicated. My issue with Agnes is that I identify with her SO hard, it's very difficult to tease apart "this is what I think makes sense for the character" and "this is me projecting my own aspec identity onto her" 🙈🙈🙈
I honestly couldn't tell you where I think Agnes falls. She's flirtatious, she's definitely not sex-averse... but then again, when I watched her teasing Rios about his books, I didn't realize that was flirting until someone pointed it out to me. To me, it was just her being bored and bonding with her new crew (and using the distraction to force the shunted off Horrors in her brain to be quiet for a while). So yeah, I find it difficult to make up my mind on where I see Agnes on the allo-ace-spectrum, because my own identity so heavily biases any thoughts I have on that front 😅
(Also, only semi-related: I desperately wish we had gotten to see Agnes grow and get proper therapy and support and figure out who she is now that she's living with massive PTSD, but she's no longer so alone and has found a family crew that she loves and who support her. I think her character has a ton of potential, and now that she has people (and Emergency Holograms) who care enough about her to not just let her compartmentalize her pain but to help her work through it... so many possible directions she could develop in! And similar to Soji: who knows where she'd end up when she's no longer using all her energy to fight her own brain?)
Oh, but to add to the list: in my mind, Picard is definitely ace. And in a Romulan three-person marriage with Laris and Zhaban 🤣
(And again, because it bears repeating: I'm not saying that my headcanons are in any way shape or form "correct" and yours are wrong, OP! I love that we can have multiple readings of these characters and can compare where our interpretations match up or diverge in interesting ways, because that's what fandom is all about! 😁)
I have decided that Rios, Agnes, Elnor, Soji and Seven are all on the asexual spectrum and nothing and no one can stop me

Finally got a chance this week to sit down and read Second Self , the most recent Picard novel. I pretty much assumed I would enjoy this one because it's Una McCormack (which is like slapping a guarantee on the package for me) and because her first Picard novel was a banger, despite my having more tepid feelings about the series itself.
If you’re in my Trek circle of tumblr, you should give this one a try, guys. It's good.
Tumblr media
Random thoughts (here be spoilers):
The moment I saw the words "a Cardassian," I knew I was going to see Garak. I knew because #1: are there other Cardassians? Really? and #2: Dr. Una wouldn't play with my heart like that. (Also my spouse, who had already read the book, kept staring at me while I was reading, judging my reaction. Bit of a tip off as well.)
I fucking love Raffi. Specifically, I love this novelverse version of the character who has depth and is so relatable. She was the best part of Last Best Hope, and having her take center stage was a treat. I would like to kindly request of the Star Trek gods to please give us a smidge more Seven/Raffi in the novelverse. The radioplay was lovely, and Beyer fed us well there. But I want more, and I'm especially curious to see what Dr. McCormack's would do with it. I have waited a lifetime to see an explicitly canon sapphic ship* in Trek: I am hungry. (*other than Dax/Kahn)
Juxtaposing Elnor and his absolute candor with Garak is just *chef's kiss fireworks yes* BRILLIANT
As with most of Dr. Una's work, not only was this an engaging read, but it was thematically rich, too. The meditation on justice vs. retribution vs. restitution is so immediately relevant and so well done that I know I’ll be thinking about it many times outside its trek context. And I was so grateful for the recognition that choosing restitution is an heroic act on the part of those who truly deserve retribution/justice. Effing lovely.
I always wondered how one could satisfactorily end Garak's story. I mean in my heart I knew it couldn't be purely happily ever after. There were war crimes, buddy: probably need just a smidge of comeuppance there. But also, the other part of my heart didn't want to see him suffer more because...because it's Garak. This ending managed to please both halves of my heart, which I didn't think possible. (When I say end, it is by default in quotation marks because that story will never be over, I refuse)
I will forever and always wonder how different this arc is than the one that might have been in the prior DS9 litverse.
Okay, @unamccormack, be honest: how much of that letter Garak left for Bashir have you mentally written? Actually written? I have to know what it says. I need it like air. I just know it would be full of references to The Tempest and musings on missed opportunities and past mistakes. Please, I'm begging: release the extended cut!

I am so sorry to do this, but... incoherent agry yelling about Star Trek: Picard under the cut.
(Spoilers up to and including season 2, episode 9!)
CW: Canon-suicide mention Last week, I rewatched the first eight episodes of season 2. Watching episode 1, my main thought was “Oh, wow, I really have been unfair with my annoyance. This season is pretty good! I should stop complaining about it so much!” By the time I got to episode 6, I was once again filled with rage.
The first time I saw episode 6, I typed an almost 4k rant about how season 2 feels like such an incrdibly deep betrayal of season 1, and it made me incredibly sad! And those 4000 words didn’t even include any comment on the holos, and the disaster that is the Yvette Picard storyline hadn’t happened yet.
Episodes 7 and 8 left me mostly numb and a little sad.
Episode 9 has left me furious. I HATE IT SO MUCH!!! I’m glad we got some good moments between Seven and Raffi. But HOLY SHIT, there is so much horribleness and it just keeps getting worse!!!
I had thought I’d re-write my post-episode-6 rant to make it a little less shouty and more coherent and then post it to tumblr, but then Life happened and the next two episodes left me feeling meh. So I figured I’d wait until the season was over, so I would do the writers justice, because maybe they weren’t going to go with “Picard let his mother out after Maurice locked her up for her own good, and she committed suicide”. Maybe they would find a sane way to handle that storyline that wouldn’t be a huge insult to tons of mentally ill people (especially mentally ill women and mentally ill parents) and reinforce some truly horrific stereotypes.
And maybe the heavy, heavy foreshadowing that Agnes was going to be the new Borg Queen would be resolved in some way that felt earned and like a good development to her character and her relationships with her friends. And her ex. You know. The man who looked at borgified Agnes flying away on La Sirena and made a quip about losing his ship OH MY GOD I HATE IT SO MUCH!!!!!
So yeah, I have officially reached the end of my patience. It’s possible the writers pull some Big Twist where we do get our motley crew back, including Elnor who is, you know, ALIVE AND NOT A FUCKING HOLOGRAM, including Agnes who ACTUALLY REMEMBERS SHE HAS A FUCKING CREW WHO LOVE HER, including Rios who doesn’t stay behind in the past. It’s possible, this will end not feeling like the utter and complete betrayal of everything that came in season 1. But I think I’m done hoping.
Even if the writers manage to write a good ending to this ever-increasing mess, I don’t think it can make up for nine episodes of disregard for backstories and development and fundamental characteristics of these characters I have cared so deeply about for two years. Not to mention: It won’t change the utterly horrendous treatment of Yvette Picard. Holy shit. They REALLY fucked up with that one...
I’ll probably try to put together a coherent critique that doesn’t devolve into incoherent screeching and actually focuses on the important parts. But I might have to decide I need to spend my very precious energy elsewhere...
I never thought I’d say this, but I’m honestly looking forward to next week, when the season will finally be over and we can start ignoring it and pretending it never happened - apart from the few small details that seem worth keeping. It’s how the writers have treated season 1 for eight episodes now, so I think it’s only fair to reutrn the favour.

I was already a little annoyed with Picard S3 after the *crimes* done to my boy Elnor in S2 and had seen no sign of him in S3. Now with full knowledge he’s not showing up and this season was all just *borg bullshit* again (and trust me, that statement takes a lot considering I normally *love* borg bullshit) I am so tired. I will not apologize for this series anymore. I’m just gonna pretend Elnor was an unrelated character from a great fanfic and the Picard series? What Picard series?
(the only thing I’ll give it is that zen Worf is wonderful and the drama and I love him)
Also it should have all been gayer. Raffi x Seven felt like such a bait
 Bleck. I’m over it
At least Strange New Worlds is good

Ok so Star Trek Picard S2 finale. Everything was great apart from that one thing...
I am a VERY NOT HAPPY person that Rios stayed in the past. I was so much hoping that people who predicted it would be wrong. Not bc he’s my Picard crush, but bc he’s a great character. I was so annoyed I couldn't even pay proper attention to the rest of the episode (which had great moments, don’t get me wrong). It’s sooo out of his character too, you’re telling me that a STARSHIP CAPTAIN would choose to live in the time where there were no starships??? Because of some woman whom he doesn’t even know that well? That thing about not belonging was just tacked on. It was Agnes who struggled with belonging, not Rios. He was just a loner. Also he wasn’t alone, he had Raffi, I liked their bond so much, you know they’re two people who have been through a lot together and have each other’s back. Are you telling me that she just hugged him and that was all???
You know, my first thought was: Rios will not be happy in the past and his relationship with Teresa will not work out. It will be altogether a mess. That was before Guinan told his story. But for all we know she could have just lied to make Picard feel better. I suppose Santiago wanted to leave or had other commitments, but still, it sucks.
Ever since I heard of the theory, I kept hoping, repeating to myself, please don’t make this a gender bent Outlander, please don’t make this a gender bent Outlander, PLEASE DON’T MAKE THIS A GENDER BENT OUTLANDER! I fucking hate Outlander.
Not happy about the characters not returning for S3. Especially Elnor... that little piece of sunshine. I’ll be sad not to see Isa Briones back, though hopefully what with Kore joining Wesley Crusher, there might be some potential for a future appearance. With Agnes, I can understand... but again, she should be at least a recurring character.
At least they did Raffi & Seven justice. So pleased for them (and for the fans!) And the moment between Picard and Q was nice too.
Look, it’s great that the old crew is coming back, but I LIKED these characters. This is what comes out from constant whining.

picard 2x03 thots
been having some thots again
I am a ds9 fan, it is my favourite star trek, and past tense 1 and 2 are up there among my favourite episodes. If you haven't seen them, due to a transporter accident Dax, Sisko and Bashir are transported to San Francisco in 2024, a few days before a historical moment known as the bell riots. Similarily to this episode, the three are separated by quirks of geography. They materialise around a subway station, Dax inside it and Sisko and Bashir outside it. Dax is rescued by a billionaire tech dude who hits on her and introduces her to high society, while Sisko and Bashir are rounded up and thrown into concentration camp for the homeless known as sanctuary districts.
Even TNG did this plot, when Data is trapped in the 1800s san francisco. And of course First Contact, with 2070s Montana. And voyager did it too, with the early 2000s. And TOS, in multiple episodes AND in The Voyage Home, And I am sure Enterprise did it.
The explicit use of 2024 in this episode HAS to be a clue that they're going to do the bell riots though, right? A big turning point in history? But why? There's literally a two part episode about this in another series saying that 2024 was the pivotal moment in the formation of the better future that these characters are from. We, as trekkie viewers, already know that this was a pivotal year! There was even a brief thing talking about sanctuary districts in this episode, and the memory alpha recap says that Raffi wakes up IN a sanctuary district, but er, how did she and Seven get out if so?
There was a rumour that Avery Brooks had filmed a cameo for this season, or that they were asking him, but while I really want some ds9 representation in this show other than a few mentions, I'm skeptical and apprehensive. I just don't think the writers of this show can do a subtle enough treatment of this plotline. I think they want to speak truth to OUR present, which misses the whole bloody point of star trek which used to embrace the divergent history, you know, that the late 20th century and early 21st century was leading up to a nuclear war that destroyed north american society and humanity was then dramatically saved by collaboration with alien races.
ANYWAY amateur star trek historian hour over, lets turn to Picard is an idiot part 2000, namely 1. letting my girl Agnes get assimilated and 2. NOT DOING WHAT SHE ASKED which was pulling her out when she got too assimilated!!!!! I mean we got the cool moment when Agnes got to show that she got the data out of the borg queen, and she looked wonderful in that scene shot from the queens angle, I sympathise, I also look best photographed from way above, but daaaamn, anyway, it was good but also UGH could someone put the idiot ball in the airlock and fire it into space???? absolute idiot ball.
If they assimilate my girl properly I will probably write a lot of fic but also be upset about it, lbr I'm in this show to the end.
ALSO I need to talk about how they killed Elnor...and only Raffi was upset. god Picard you are the WORST FATHER FIGURE EVER. But now they've done what I wanted, trimmed the characters down, though this just felt...ugh. just to upset Raffi...who has a lot of reasons to be upset anyway!!! She doesnt' need this!!!
The Rios and hot doctor lady ICE plotline was fine although excuse you he loves Agnes, I have written several fanfics about it.
FINALLY for todays thots, Raffi and Seven have so much potential but theres no bloody time to do it because THE FATE OF THE FUTURE AND THE GALAXY BLAH BLAH BLAH I'm gonna write them getting together and breaking up because the show won't do it justice. Sometimes you've got to fucking fix it yourself.
anyway this season is ON NOTICE but its still great and I'm enjoying it even if just to bitch about it.

Harvest and Amber –for the autumn asks thing
Harvest:
Honestly, at this point, my crush/ f/o, Elnor. I also identify a lot with Sylvia Tilly, but I'm not a math person.
Elnor is earnest, has a strong sense of justice, and just wants to love and hug everyone and experience the world. The world is a place of wonder for him, and he also sees no reason to lie about his feelings or anything ever. I feel this on a molecular level. I just want to hug everyone, be helpful, fight injustice, and see all there is to see and experience all there to experience that is good or interesting in life. Also, he was raised in a cloister and I was homeschooled in a situation in which my fam and I weren't able to really socialize a whole hell of a lot.
Amber:
I'm not really sure, but probably the opinion that my nurturing personality/aspect is my own; it's not inherently feminine. I'm convinced I would be almost the exact same human being had I been born or identified as male.
Also, pineapple belongs on pizza.

i really liked the new ep and i really hate to be this person but if they don't start upping elnor's screen time i can't be held responsible for my actions (also how come he couldn't have a feathery hat or an eyepatch let that child LIVE)
OH I KNOW. everybody’s got like individual narratives so far except elnor. i mean experiencing the galaxy for the first time is such a wonderful character set-up, and i feel like it’s only been used for comedic effect so far. ALSO YEAH WHY DIDN’T THEY GIVE ELNOR A CAPE. WHY DID THEY NOT GIVE HIM A SPARKLY CAPE. JUSTICE FOR MY BOY!!
