la'an as a little kid alone on a ship with strangers after her whole family died (got eaten by space lizards) who gets obsessed with a book series and absolutely projects onto the main character and wants to be her is both Adorable and heart-breaking at the same time.. She was a lonely kid feeling like an outsider with her nose in a book to escape the world and dream up something better.
Also; the captain gave her books to read, which is so sweet. I bet that little girl wrecked the crew of that ship when they found out what had happened to her. Just the sheer horror of it all. The final girl in the horror movie is just a small child who lived because she was precious enough to be protected by those around her.
I bet she haunted a few of those people.

randomly felt kind of like a gut punch realising that the last time gihun got to breathe fresh air he was staring in shock with hyun-ju as the man they'd carried over the finish line was shot dead anyway... Can't imagine how stale and disgusting the air is in that complex. Blood and sweat and fear and locked into a pen like animals. The tiny little cruelties always get me the most in this show.
