COVID depression (going to be honest)

A lot of my depression had to do with the fact that not only was I lonely, but I lost track of my health goals and put on weight, which made me spiral even further downwards towards poor self esteem and low confidence.

This year I did a lot for my weight and health and did IF and brisk walking and followed an anti-inflammatory and low glycemic diet. This made me feel more empowered and confident over my health, just like how I felt 2017-2019. I want to reestablish that, however without the dieting and calorie restricting and avoiding sugar completely (I don't eat a lot of sugar now but it isn't off limits for me, I don't avoid it out of fear, but rather because I just don't crave super sweet stuff anymore).

I am getting closer and closer towards metabolic wellness and based on my recent bloodwork, my insulin level went down.

I do want to continue fasting, I just don't feel comfortable doing 18-6, 20-4, or OMAD. For me 16-8 is the way to go, along with brisk walking. And I don't brisk walk everyday (I didn't today for example). In 2017-2019 I did a lot of walking and I did eat anti-inflammatory, but again it was just stressful and too restrictive. I did feel malnourished in a way. Even though I wasn't physically emaciated.

I love being healthy and health and wellness in general. To the point where I want to get a certificate in the field or at least take a few classes. I have a degree in cell biology but more from a scientific point of view as opposed from a health and wellness point of view.

I feel so healthy compared to the start of 2023 and all of 2022 and even 2021. I'm even healthier in some ways than I was in 2016-2020 (though my skin did get more inflamed this year), though I just want to keep it up with the fasting and brisk walking and anti-inflammatory low glycemic index diet so I'm able to achieve my 2018 body without the restricting and dieting (I became thin in late May this year, I just want to go back to fasting and brisk walking and see how I feel during my luteal phase in terms of fasting).

I still want to slim my calves, perhaps massaging and stretching can help. I'll figure something out and I'm just happy my skin is clearing and I'm metabolically healthy (always room for improvement but I'm doing way better than the average person).

I also did not drink coffee everyday back then. I did switch to green tea now and feel a lot better too.

I'll deal with the loneliness and intimacy issue during COVID later.

This is a short manga of six chapters. It doesn't cover even the entire childhood arc, let alone the whole novel.

Some lines are taken directly from the novel, while others were similar but not identical, and others were changed to fit manga style dialogue bubbles.

Not everything in the manga is 1:1 with the novel, but it's all pretty close.

All of those ideas are great and just so the pain of fanfic often sort of being what would be a novel first draft by being episodic, but I feel like you could so weave in a tonne of this stuff past now anyway. rn i am considering how much if any retouching i wanna do of the existing 260k of coping skills cos yeah, the struggle of fanfic essentially being the first draft of a novel. usually it doesnt get me too bad since a) i generally fully complete a fic before posting so i do have a chance to go back and adjust things here and there & 2) i really havent ever cared to redraft something in the more traditional sense and iii) i basically never write things over 100k let alone anything substantially over 100k

one of the options im considering would involve a fairly big overhaul where i pull out the individual arcs and flesh em out with additional scenes for better pacing, and then repost as a series with shorter individual fics (with the og in tact as is, just with a note). ive had several people tell me theyve balked at the length of this damned fic, especially since its barely half done plot wise for JUST this specific already plotted chunk of the whole shebang. it has quite possibly gotten a smiiiidge out of control lmao but its been a great learning experience and i am Determined to finish it

however, i am ALSO considering filing the serial numbers off this fic once its done. i absolutely plan on redrafting the whole thing with a bunch of developmental editing work so the end result would almost certainly be a very different form of the story from the fic as it is now. im still unsure of how much of the rework i have in my head i want to put on the internet as Coping Skills: The Fic tho. its really important to me that, whatever i end up doing, i keep this monster available on the internet as a fanfic cos i am well aware of how much it means to a lot of folks

at the same time though theres a lot of backend stuff i could build into the cs2.0 idea that would make writing the rest of the story a LOT easier, which would make dev edits and redrafting easier bc ill be starting with something that has more structure, etc

theres balance somewhere i just haven't found it yet, HOWEVER im absolutely gonna be stuck til i figure it out. im a plantser when it comes to plot, im more than happy to figure out the path to a fairly nebulous endgoal, but i struggle to write stuff if i dont have a good idea of the overall structure of how i tell the story, like pattern of pov shifts and theming, which definitely got a bit away from me the last like 80k lmao

Old Tumblr Dashboard (Userstyle)!!

I created a Userstyle for the Chrome/Firefox Stylus Extension that reverts the new dashboard to the old look!

You need to have Stylus installed. So if you don't have it:

Install the Stylus Firefox Addon or the Manifest V2 Chrome Extension (You can install Chrome Extensions on Edge as well)

Once it's installed into Firefox/Chrome/Edge you can proceed with adding this style or any other.

To add the style (Stylus), follow the instructions:

Search bar doesn't appear on some pages (like viewing a post), this is because Tumblr removed the search bar on those pages completely. Unfixable but not a big deal

Tumblr has ONCE AGAIN CHANGED THE ACCOUNTS MENU. The menus are now shorter and have less information on them. This is unfortunately permanent. I do not see any way to fix this. Unfixable.

If you want people's icons to stay fixed in place, instead of scrolling with the dashboard change this in Stylus;
