Hiii!! Ufff I don't know how to tell you that I love your take on Floyd. like some bad bad life decisions were taken (THAT SO!!! INTERESTING FOR HIM). Do you think he ever feels ashamed of himself when he looks at Branch's eyes, like "shit, this guy really believes in me" or "he doesn't even know everything I have done"? Like he has some really BIG "Love me Less by Max" vibes

They all really believe in his goodness which is worse

And OH he definitely feels so much shame and regret. I think a big part of why he fell as hard as he did was because he finally didn't have to be his brothers' mediator, and I guess at one point he forgot that he still needed to be the voice of reason for himself. His new band mates encouraging his reckless behavior didn't help. Honestly I personally think young Floyd was a very naive kid and very dependent on his older brothers but his strong empathy gave them all the impression that he was much more mature and independent than he really was...

So yeah... you can imagine that constantly partying, doing drugs and sleeping around wears someone down after a few years. I think Floyd also went gray like Branch (not for as long tho) and he broke up with the band wanting to go home badly, but he was also ashamed of showing his face after a number of years as a gray drug addict, so he kind of just ended up alone...

If we're sharing songs, I have to show you this one by Linkin Park because I think Floyd wrote it for Branch (and the rest of his family (and some parts also addressing himself)) while he was at that desperate and lonely period because I am also extremely emo

HAPPY HAPPY HOLIDAYS, EVERYONE!!!

I’m sorry this isn’t a more finished piece, but I wanted to put out a little something for the holiday just so I could gush for a moment about all of you.

The growth I’ve experienced on this account in the past few months alone has been UNBELIEVABLE. I never would have expected that people would like my art and my ideas so much, especially so many of you! I usually feel extremely nervous about putting myself out there, but everybody that I’ve met through this fanbase has been nothing short of wonderful.

This is one of the most interactive and lovely fanbases I’ve been in in a LONG time, and I seriously can’t thank you guys enough for all of the support!! Thank you so much to everybody who’s followed me, sent me kind comments and asks, left encouraging tags on my posts, drawn fanart for my AUs and even included your own OCs into them… just, thank you! I know I might not be the greatest with showing gratitude, but your kind words seriously mean the world to me, I’m so grateful to be sharing my work with all of you lovely people.

SHENANIGANS: where Mai gives headcanons to the Voices in your Head™️ based purely off vibes.

This episode: THE VOICES AT KARAOKE!

((So begins...whatever this is. This is purely dependant on my boredom so we'll see how far this goes. Have a Connie as a prize for reading

Now without further ado...:

VOICE OF THE HERO: The one that is shy to sing but when pushed to sings, she knocks it out of the park. Probably sings whatever popular song is on right now, no specific preference. Awkwardly stands in place as she sings, with lil hand gestures.

VOICE OF THE SMITTEN: The good singer that everyone expects to knock out of the park and no one is disappointed. Probably tries to get people to sing with them or clap, but few actually do. Love songs are top priority. He will dance around the stage.

VOICE OF THE SKEPTIC: Is more content with judging than being judged. But proper probing will get him going. Slow jazz are his vibe but he ends up listening to the song and forgets about singing. He stands in the middle, not moving at all.

VOICE OF THE CHEATED: She was so eager to prove that she could sing. The machine broke before she could start. By the time it's fixed, the mood is gone. Would have loved to sing some classic rock, if she got the chance to. Spends the rest of the night grumpy and eating snacks.

VOICE OF THE PARANOID: Nope, nope, nope, nope, he is not moving from his chair. Too much pressure! Blues is his favorite.

VOICE OF THE STUBBORN: he is putting his entire spirit into this song as if this is a fucking rock concert and not a karaoke room. The song he picked is heavy metal, and mostly screaming. Nobody can understand a word he's screaming. Probably tried to dive off stage and faceplants on the floor.

VOICE OF THE BROKEN: Same as Paranoid but if peer pressured enough, she'll get on stage. Will give it her college try, but she is not that good. Anything slow and smoothe calls to her. Since she doesn't like moving, she'd sing in her seat.

VOICE OF THE COLD: He'll get on stage, then he just...sips his mug through the whole song. He doesn't care enough to pick a favorite so he randomized it. Obviously, no moving.

VOICE OF THE OPPORTUNIST: He said he has a good voice, but when pressed, he'll try to get out of it (saying someone should go first, etc...). But a few stiff drinks later, he can get on the stage. He can actually put that money where his mouth is. Surprisingly picks country music, for whatever reason. (Probably because it's got a nice beat to dance to, which he does when he gets into it.)

VOICE OF THE HUNTED: No one thought he would want to sing, but he did. Buuuuut...it's some song in German or something that no one can understand, so it's hard to tell if he's doing some secret mating call, or he's cursing them out. Also sings where he's seated

VOICE OF THE CONTRARIAN: always the last to sing, after everyone's exhausted and just about ready to pack it up for the night. If her loud and annoying (albeit good) singing didn't woke them all up, the music will. She always picks something upbeat and fast paced, mainly to flex how she can sing it with no mistakes. Can and has gotten others to sing with her (mainly Opportunist and Smitten as back up singers).

BONUS: SHIPPING~ (which voices will sing in pairs)

Smitten and Opportunist: normally they wouldn't. But a drink or 2 later and they're dueting the cheesiest and/or gayest love song in the shuffle.

Cheated and Broken: Broken felt bad Cheated didn't get to, so she offered to duet with her. They ended up harmonizing quite well together and Broken is loud, when she is back up.

Hero and Paranoid: Hero wanted to encourage him to at least try. Ended up singing the majority of the time, but Paranoid starts getting into singing together, by the end. The nervous one is pretty good with a rhythm ;).

Cold and Stubborn: Cold's non-commitment has NO SPACE here!! They're here to have fun, and DAMNIT they will!!! Stubborn sings the loudest song he knows, Cold in his arms. I don't think he noticed that Cold's not actually singing.

Smitten and Hunted: Hunted does good humming for some of the hymns Smitten knows. So they are surprisingly good together.

A spiteful punishment that the world has brought down on him out of malice, out of vengeance for his past deeds. A cruel, agonizing curse manifested with the single unjustified purpose of preventing him from realizing happiness, ever seeking redemption, ever righting his multitudes of wrongs and moving on with his life. But that's not true, and he knows it deep down. Knows it in the very core of his soul like the flood of petals building in this throat.

This is his fault because he is a coward, and that's all he has ever been. A backstabbing, lonely coward.

i'll be very candid with you my friend: i'm totally lost too !!!!!!! your comic-reading journey is about as green as mine and so i cant personally give you a super great guide- but beautiful people on the internet exist who've done most of the dirty work for us when sorting through the stories you 'should' read so i'm borrowing them to help us both

you can read this article to read about one person's advice with exploring krakoa and- in their opinion- its most 'significant' stories, though to summarize the issues they recommend looking into:

House of X/Powers of X (which you should have already done)

X of Swords event

Hellfire Gala

Inferno

X Lives and X Deaths of Wolverine

Second Hellfire Gala

Third Hellfire Gala

Fall of the House of X/Rise of the Powers of X (also should have already done, however...) +Single issue: X-Men (2021 series) #35 aka Uncanny X-Men #700 is featured at the end of the FoX omnibus, though the omnibus excludes an extra bit at the end involving a cliffhanger for Charles's fate after he's arrested

if you want to dig a little deeper though, you can check out this article from another individual which includes another wave of 'relevant' (word used loosely as some can be considered more poignant than others) krakoa stories and stories related to it or set during the period.

it's a lot longer and more in depth than the last article, so again i only really rec peaking at this one depending on how deep you wanna go, or if you decide you want to explore more after reading the more 'key' stories. def wouldn't hurt to give it a glance just in case you read some summaries that pique your interest!

all in all, don't take these as concrete rules or guides to follow: comics are meant to be fun, these are just good starting points if you're feeling lost or overwhelmed. at the end of the day, you decide ultimately what you want to read and which stories interest you the most

so yeah. i don't know how the hell my follower count has doubled in like, two months. maybe it's the Fake Peppino Hugs? a lot of people have been wanting hugs after all. it uhhhh kinda makes me feel weird knowing there's this many of you. but i'll try to manage.

speaking of hugs, yes i've seen the new asks and requests in my inbox i promise!! i will get to them when i can, but for now i'm gonna try to focus on getting a couple other big important things done. mainly, a large Fake Peppino headcanon-related post i've been planning, and getting a few more characters up on Artfight before July.

and also.... i might be getting commissions up soon too?? i don't know how soon, but it'd be a way for me to get income right now since i don't have a job. or, if you don't wanna commission me but still wanna show support, i have a link to me Ko-Fi on my intro post as well! really any support is welcome, but i'm trying to figure out how to do commissions and pricing and stuff since it'll be the first time i *officially* do them. i hope you'll think about it though!!
