I absolutely agree that actively hating on JK is veryyy uncalled for when we can see Jikook doing great and we don't have all the bts information. Lately, though, I've also seen a lot of Jikook accts minimizing what happened to FACE and Jimin. Celebrating JK's achievements is one thing but I cannot stand to see jkks of all ppl downgrading what happened to Jimin and his records as they're broken by the extra push the company gives JK. Everyone is speculating and trying their best to understand things and for some, that's sidelining Jimin as an accessory to make it make sense. There needs to be fair discourse in all sides of this community without romanticizing the darker parts of it. It's not JK's fault and we don't know all, but we still need to be able to talk about it. Like the fact that some of LC's numbers disappeared right when Seven needed space on the Korean charts. i keep this blog for myself, first and foremost. for my own enjoyment! i like to come here and hang out, talk about what’s on my mind — be it bits and pieces of my life or sharing the thoughts that plague me regarding our beloved pixels, and sometimes i write. i am sure many signed up after coming across my content in the tags and then chose to leave bc this girl is not a regular AHAHAH, but i talk a lot and while certainly this is annoying to some, others find it entertaining and hang out with me!

when i was super anxious about posting regularly, writing-wise and not just concepts and rambles, in the past, i didn’t quite enjoy my stay here. it felt like a chore or a job, it was exhausting tbh. i’ve also come to realize that ppl don’t expect anything from me, it’s me who does that. so, now i do whatever i want AHAHAH — i talk bunch and when inspiration strikes i write, and those who enjoy my online presence overall (regardless of what i put on their dash) stay, while those who no longer fw it leave (and that’s completely valid!) and i know how everyone always talks about this but actually realizing it for yourself is so freeing

i appreciate u actually taking the time to explain ur thoughts re: sam’s acting but i have to say i disagree. the accent fixation seems silly to me bc nobody bar maybe jacob has a perfect accent (delainey’s is particularly inconsistent, but who cares). it at least makes sense for lestat’s accent to be confused? he’s been around for hundreds of years, grew up in rural 18th century france and all accents have evolved since then… he’s lived in a bunch of different places, spoken multiple languages, like genuinely what do ppl want him to sound like? i think his accent/voice works perfectly for the role. jacob is incredible but there are a ton of subtleties in sam’s acting too (e.g. nuances in each perception or iteration of lestat) and it’s rly annoying that that ppl praising him is dismissed as just liking the “white and loud” character. basically saying anyone who’s favorite performer is sam only feels that way bc of racial bias when it’s a perfectly valid opinion (as is the case to prefer someone else)? ur obviously influenced by ur own ambivalence towards him as a character/actor. among fans (critics do tend to focus on jacob/sam) i’ve seen nothing but tons and tons of praise for assad, jacob and delainey bc i try and curate my circle w ppl who appreciate the entire cast. but also — wdym it took ppl 5 hours to compliment anyone else after ep 7 — i was on twitter when it dropped and tons of ppl were giving jacob and delainey their props?

I was comparing the accent between S1 and S2. It abruptly changed and I couldn't see a reason why? Armand's changes too but it's in character for why and then other ppl's are sometimes actor's own limitations. It's w/e tho tbh, it just pulled me out of a lot of it bcuz I don't remember being conscious of it in S1 like that.

A lot of what ppl like is that he fits a "fun" flamboyant, white, gay character and that's a lot of all we ever hear about. OKAY SO admittedly I mostly only know the story through reading Guz’s wiki page a few times (teehee) and through osmosis from the general fandom dsgjkl, i want to play the game one day and maybe read the manga, and I’ve watched the anime eps he’s featured in and that’s all i’m watching of that LOL. I haven’t actually experienced much of his story (or su/mo in general) first-hand myself though fdsjkl

after the events of su/mo, I don’t think he’d actually disband Team Skull because… what is the point of that honestly LOL, so Team Skull stays together in MY version of the world hehe. they’re required to do community service to make up for whatever shenanigans they get up to, but they stop stealing pokemon and move onto just like… graffiti and casual pranks and stuff. they still cause trouble, but it’s mostly mischief now rather than any actual crime. I set them up to work on murals for shop owners around the islands so they can spraypaint and be artistic that way rather than randomly tagging walls and getting into trouble for it fjdskl. they keep their disdain for authority figures and rules because at the end of the day most of them are rowdy teens who feel outcasted from society, and that’s just the way the ball rolls with them (also a certain level of that is healthy and warranted tbh). I work with Plumeria to organize events and outings (outside of community service) for the squad though, which helps give everyone healthier outlets for their energy and focus.

Hala mentors Guz to help put him onto (and keep him on) the right track, and Guz learns to appreciate the islands and their traditions a bit - even if he still doesn’t agree with all of them. Part of that mentorship is also sort of therapy (in a more holistic naturally-occurring way rather than like... clinical therapist sitting with patient), so trauma gets unpacked and healthier ways of handling emotions are learned and implemented. Also fuck the Aether Foundation HFDSJKL I keep Guz far away from Lusamine and make sure she never gets close to him again (idk what Gladion and Lillie get up to, I haven’t thought enough about them yet fsjkl). There’s a lot of healing and self-improvement and learning how to Be A PersonTM for both of us tbh!

Beyond that, it is mostly just regular Alola/island living!! Beach visits, walking around, getting ice cream and popsicles, casual battles with tourists, catching wimpods, all that sort of thing :] Also we visit Sinnoh (my home region) for half the year (i have… a whole schedule worked out for that actually LOL) so there’s that, too.

as for the plushie omg thank u sm WAUGH :D i cannot tell if it’s just because i have a weird hodge-podge skillset but i DO think it is not actually all that difficult !!! you just need a pattern for cutting the felt and then I learned the ladder stitch for hand-sewing, and it’s been very straightforward on how to sew the pieces together!! the hardest part so far has just been the hair because I have a difficult time translating 2D images to 3D reality in that way.

I just really want to encourage ppl to try their hand at new crafts and creative skills because I think it’s really fun and honestly really good for ppls well-being!! i am very passionate about making creativity accessible to people as much as possible!!! maybe i could make a tutorial or smth… the pattern I'm using is free and available on the creator’s website, and it’s genuinely not that difficult esp compared to some other things i’ve tried my hand at in the past LOL I feel like some of my paper mache projects have been more complex than this lil goober!!

yeah (good written) horror pron (as in with legit pron) would do that to ya, theyre not that common though, which is unfortunate as it’s a niche thing i wouldve loved to see more of. pretty rare to find a good / decent story with both horror and pron, more so with the character leads surviving in the end. you’ll find more of these in animation, but in the live action ones (which…i don’t usually browse for, tbh), it’s a huge hit or miss with mostly on the miss since what ive seen is literally just pron on the horror setting and that is it. :\

i also paralleled the scarf to another less commonly known story, The Woman With the Ribbon Around Her Neck, in which if the ribbon is removed, the woman basically falls apart. you can assume that the scarf could potentially do the same, getting it removed would have the neighbor ‘falling’ apart, so to say. the reader walked on him ‘falling’ apart the seconds after he’d discarded his scarf to let his ‘skin’ breathe or whatever.

another way is that, he was hiding the scars you'd have commonly seen with the dead who’d undergone the autopsy, but the stitches couldn’t keep him ‘together’ well enough so he’d have to wear a scarf and everything else to hide the fact that he was basically a walking corpse slash a monster possessing a human skin. the reader walked on him and caught the sight of his abnormal stitches and the neighbor probably started overreacting upon seeing his darling and tore himself out of his body or something. idk.

those are just several possibilities though (i…actually liked them all and i couldn’t decide on which to implement), but all revolving around the fact that the neighbor obviously never wanted to show any bit of naked skin but his face for good reasons + the reader being oblivious / a bit pushy about it.

i actually tried to have the story to sound a little like a common myth to teach a lesson about being too curious / too trusting but idk if that came cross that clearly.

I- may have been thinking about Chan. About Big tattling to Chan re: Porsche sneaking out to fight. About Chan literally figuratively taking Porsche by the scruff of his neck and shaking him when he sees Porsche's bruised knuckles and split lip.

And then after Chan leaves him verbally eviscerated and fearing for his job (and also halfway to a drop - because daddy Chan is mean when he wants to be and right now Porsche isn't worth the effort to reel it in), Porsche finds himself gravitating to-

Pete. To Tankhun. To Arm and Pol and the soft, safe space of Tankhun's suite.

Not Kinn.

Because this is what Vegas was trying to tell him. Kinn hasn't proven to Porsche that he can be that soft place, that calm in the middle of the storm, because Porsche hasn't let him in yet damnit he hasn't proven to Porsche that he can handle whatever this is that Porsche is feeling.

And then - a lot of growth needs to happen, tbh. Porsche needs to be gently scolded for shutting Kinn out again and again, because it's a two-way street Porsche!! And Kinn needs to be given a clue and shoved in the right direction. Plus, Big needs to apologise for setting Chan on Porsche when he can see how brittle Porsche feels, and wanting to punish Porsche (in whose weaknesses he sees his own) rather than help him. (ChanBig side pairing hello.)

I feel like Kim needs to step in.

Kim needs to tell his brother to stop being scared of reaching out to Porsche. (It’s hypocritical of him, yes, He’s Aware. But he’s also had Chay giving him free therapy about it. And where does Chay’s experience stem from? Dealing with Porsche’s need to be seen as strong and independant. So this is Kim giving Kinn insight from the person who knows Porsche best: his little brother! You’re welcome. Or something. Not like Kim actually cares.)

And while Kim is feeling generous with Chay’s advice, he also needs to tell Porsche to stop scaring Porchay who hasn't heard from him in a literal month, P'Porsche, seriously.

And the world must be ending because Vegas and Kim agree on this?? Because as soon as Vegas hears that Porsche hasn't spoken to checked on his little brother recently, oh boy are they having words. Meanwhile Vegas likewise understands that Kinn needs validation from Porsche in this dynamic as much as Porsche needs it from Kinn because he's been there with Pete, and Pete with him.

Meanwhile Pete's just off to the side breathing easier because everyone's finally got a clue and he can stop trying to be the therapist everyone needs. He and Chay should start a club.

Honestly same, I’m confused as to how exactly “proship” became commonly used but I think it originally was meant as a “live and let live” attitude towards shipping where ppl can do whatever they want (even if it’s problematic or fetishistic or taboo) as long as it’s properly tagged and you don’t harass ppl over it. But I think ppl use it to mean whatever they want it to mean nowadays, especially if it’s to accuse ppl of shipping something they consider “sinful” (see my post about puritanical online fandom culture) or simply something outside their personal taste. hi. neither in my post nor the tags of the post did i say anything mean about x reader fics. i simply said i do not want to see them. me "being mean" is something you made up because not once did i say anything negative about it.

points you to this ask i got:

the main issue is that writers of xreaders don't consistently tag, use a million different kind of tags, or do other things to bypass filtering. if you look in the tags and replies of the original post, you can see many people complaining about no matter how much content they try and filter, some always slip through the cracks. there's no catchall that most writers consistently use, like 'selfship' 'x reader' 'fandom x reader' or 'reader insert' or anything of the like. some people may, but from an outsider perspective it feels very random and inconsistent. in the post itself they'll write x!reader such as f!reader or fem!reader or whatever other demographic it's written for, which can make it slip through an 'x reader' content filter. people blaze or even sponsor their posts, forcing it on people's dashes whether they want it or not (which is a total shot in the dark tbh, these posts are meant for a specific target audience and anyone who wants it is going to be actively looking for it anyway, not sure why you'd want to spend money on it). then i've seen people say that writers started putting image headers on their posts so that it would show up when people filter search to photo posts. basically no matter how much people try to filter out the content, the posts find a way to make it through, and that can be very frustrating to people (especially to the few who are made very uncomfortable by those types of posts). and then people won't put readmores on their posts so that they're just putting a 2k+ word post in the tags/on ppls dashes and Nobody on tumblr likes having to scroll past a long post.

the post i made was not triggered by anything, it was just a thought that i had and posted. i tend to avoid looking through tags now because i don't want to have to deal with wading through a bunch of posts that are impossible to avoid. there is no easy way to just block the content because if there was, i wouldn't have made that post and nobody would be reblogging it.

I think for me a part of it is the changing social media landscape, I definitely reblogged some of the like vs reblog discourse posts, bc for me it was more of a "it's okay to reblog and reblog a lot if you want to" attitude, but I can def see how it can create pressure and a uncomfortable situation for people

i think there are elements of that and some of it is platform-based and some of it is just the fact that the landscape has changed very fast (the raw fact that the internet is simply Bigger now, there is a lot more competition and it may simply be that mid-sized creators in particular cannot be as big as they used to be proportionately, idk). i think there may be a small minority of people out there who are very, very, very new to tumblr and don't know that people like reblogs (and polite info posts are obviously fine and good, i have a whole tag for tumblr usage tips) but i don't think most ppl r not reblogging out of ignorance. i think they're not reblogging for the same reason anyone doesn't reblog something: bc they don't want to reblog whatever that post is for whatever reason.

and that's the problem right there, because you can't just say "we need more reblogs" as if that's the same as saying "we need to print more money" or something, asking for a resource. every single reblog has a human behind it making choices about what they want on their blog, and if they don't want that post on their blog it's absurd to say they should put it there anyway, even moreso to claim they have some obligation to. but the reblogs have to come from somewhere and so long as that somewhere is "from other users who don't want to, bc they're not pulling their weight" it's gonna be an argument with an unavoidable element of pressure and discomfort. it's putting pressure on people to act a certain way they otherwise wouldn't and trying to cause them discomfort when they don't. all stick, no carrot. doesn't work. bad business. there's a reason professional publishers, film studios, etc. generally don't talk to their fanbases like this, even when they're struggling financially or when they're just put out a massive bomb. if ppl associate a work or creator with being made to feel like that they will leave and they will be making the right call.

it does depress me tbh. i don't like this "us vs them" mentality in all of this, i think it hobbles the whole thing from the start and it's why i get so scornful of the ppl saying it's about "community". when my fics get five notes (and i'm a writer on tumblr, so five notes is sometimes a big ask) i want to see and appreciate the five people who took time out of their lives to show their support, not some imaginary five hundred who cruelly spurned me. idk, it's all very rough and none of this is going to make it any better and it's wasting a lot of time and energy that could be spent a lot better.

like ok when i moved to twt i def needed to. cause at the time, i was starting to become unable to think for myself because of tumblr. it had taught me a lot, but was also robbing me of critical thinking and reading comprehension and self worth. so twitter was chill for a while, but then ofc everyone and their mother moved. i was rly active for some years, in fandoms as well, and that wrecked me in a completely different way.

but never on twitter did i like...feel safe to speak my mind or just rant or gush about smth. for some reason it felt more contained and cozy here, even with all the toxicity that still seems to permeate any space these days.

i don’t think tumblr or twitter is better or worse than each other tbh. they both gave me different things that i needed at the time. but i’m just musing rn cause the familiar feeling i’m getting is nice. it’s nice to see your mutuals sharing things they like. it’s nice to talk about each others’ ocs and leave encouraging tags.

and like i try to stay updated on the world and make sure i have perspective and know what’s going on, but the news recently have affected me routinely to the point of not getting sleep, having horrible flashbacks and nightmares and fatigue, and at least on here i can catch........a break lmao

I had a lot of hope that the show fandom would fix a lot of this but it just ended up getting worse (this is not show fan's fault, btw, I'm not trying to say that).
