“Goldfishie, is that you?~” 🐟

Quick doodle I did of Floyd that I thought was really cute, so I went ahead and finished it! I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve drawn Floyd…I really just stick to my usual three dorms 😂 I find Floyd fun to draw because he’s so expressive and I get to draw him with slightly messy hair.

I tried some new colors and I really like how they turned out on Floyd. I feel Riddle doesn’t look as good as Floyd, but I don’t want to spend forever on a simple doodle piece. I’ll just make sure Riddle looks extra good for my upcoming Heartslabyul pirate piece. Hope y’all enjoy and look forward to whatever I draw next! ✨

You were big on the Gotham City art scene with your giant portraits, famously painted in black and white with intricate detail.

The only color it held would be splattered on last minute without abandon. It was different, bold, and it paid the bills with money to spare. For three years now you turned your bottled up emotions into a living.

An original Y/L?N would take a week or two to paint before the buyer would select their splatter color.

Critics said you 'ruined works of art' whereas others stated the angry marks you left behind were your version of a signature.

Joker saw your work and instantly fell in love. There was so much pain and turmoil in the flecks of paint. He had to have one.

So he sorta kinda stole a piece until it was stolen from him. So Mac did his thing and tracked it down... right to your front door.

You were so happy to reunite with one of your original pieces! If not for your devoted fans and their detective-like skills, you would have never seen it again.

It was a self portrait (or at least what you wanted yourself to look like) with crimson red paint streaked across your throat.

Safe to say the critics hated this piece, deeming it too dark and grotesque to be considered art. Funny how it was auctioned off for a quarter of a million dollars...

Moving on! It went missing right before the final bid only this time you would never part with it again! These days you kept it in your personal living room as a reminder of how far you became as an artist.

It was a slow month in terms of commissions. You had just finished up a fun piece for a local celebrity and you were still picking pink and gold paint off of your skin.

You had some downtime so you found your trusty sketchbook and let the open window carry the sounds of Gotham’s busy streets into your apartment as you doodled some new ideas.

A series of knocks on your front door made you wary. Not too many visitors came by if it wasn't more art supplies being delivered.

So sat your book down and slowly walked towards the door only for it to be kicked in— followed by three men you never wanted to see walk in.

One man was blond, like any college frat boy blowing through daddy's money, who scanned your apartment in unveiled disgust.

The second male was a strong and burly that reminded you of a character from the game Call of Duty. He stayed near the door and you had no doubt he was the one who kicked it in....

But the last guy, there was no mistaking who he was.

The Joker was in your apartment and he had his eyes set on your beloved art piece.

Neither of them acknowledged your presence. The Joker picked up your self portrait and sighed. "Come to Papa..."

He nodded at his two henchmen as they prepared to leave. "Let's go."

You were flabbergasted. How this man bust up in your place, take your ish, and then leave?! Like? Rude.

"Um? Excuse you!?" You said.

All three men froze and stared at you; however, each one held a different emotion. Indifference, annoyance, and oddly... intrigue.

The latter belonged to Joker. He handed the blond the painting and sauntered closer to you. "Why.... hellooo beautiful. You. You must be the artist."

Not too many people knew what you looked like since your work and media appearances were all handled by your manager and dear friend, Cindy. You weren't offended by Joker's comment but you weren't about to let him take your work— no matter how dangerous he was.

You huffed and crossed your arms, "And if I am? Its rude to break into people's homes and take their stuff."

There was a calm before the storm then Joker burst out laughing. You looked on in confusion as he doubled over and slapped his knees as if what you said was really that funny.

His two henchmen weren't phased in the slightest. You eyed them briefly as Joker closed the distance and held a knife to your throat. You had little time to react before the cold metal touched your skin.

"Shhh shhh. I'd hate to make a ah.. mess. Do we have a prob-lem doll?" He squeezed your face tighter in his grip. The texture of his leather gloves made you wince.

"OW! Yes... we.. do! You're not taking my work!"

He blocked your poor excuse at kneeing him in the groin and tutted his lips. "Yeah? Well let's see. Why don't weee.. make a uh, deal? so we all end up happy, hmm?"

Did he hear how insane that sounded? You didn't have to make deals with criminals over your property!

You glanced around the room and noticed all three men's body language was relaxed. It wasn't fair how they had the advantage here.

You could talk a mad trash and hold your own in any normal brawl but Joker was a different level of crazy. You couldn’t take him on. He was too unpredictable and you knew both men blocking the only exit could fight too.

It would be a mess for sure if you resisted. You had no other choice but to strike a deal.

“Fine. You want my work so badly? I’ll paint you. I will paint a piece for you, I mean.” You tried not to stare at his scars but they were so intricate. The artist in you screamed at the chance to draw him.

You wanted to sketch Joker’s scars out with charcoal, outline them with ink, and master their design with any available media you had. You were itching to get started.

The Joker noticed your sudden antsy behavior and read into it wrong.

“Wanna know how I got ‘em?” He craned his neck so you could see his scars better.

“Yes.”

Oh.

He wasn’t expecting such an honest response from you. He stuttered and lowered the knife from your neck in shock. He thought you would create some distance after he let you go, but in fact, you moved in closer to him.

“May I touch them? FOR RESEARCH! To s-study them! I need to get a feel of what I’m… I swear there’s a reason..”

Mac and Frost shared a quick look (none one touched Joker's scars and lived to tell the tale) but much to their horror, their boss agreed.

Joker looked unsure as your hands hesitated, but slowly but surely came up to touch his face.

Time stood still for Joker as this beautiful stranger mapped out all the lines in his skin. He took in your hooded eyes, the slope of your lips, and the way air escaped between them as you discovered each crevice and outline. In contrast to his own, your skin was smooth and a warm brown, a hue he wanted to discover more of.

Your hands felt too good on him. He craved more contact. Joker wanted so much more but you pulled your hands back the moment your thumb slipped into his mouth.

Did he... lick it? Lawd harmacy..

That was enough art study. You had to part ways before you turned into a whore.

You backed away just for safe measure.

You cleared your throat, “I’ll um.. wow. Um I’ll start licking your face, I MEAN PAINTING YOUF FACE!” If your skin complexion allowed, you would be redder than a tomato. Why did you say that out loud? And why wasn't he saying anything back?!

“Um y-you can come by next week or so. I should be done then. Oh, and um what color do you—"

“Green.” Joker muttered. He already knew what you were asking. The accent color you splattered on the finished piece. Your signature in the art world.

He picked green since he didn’t know your favorite color yet. He didn't know why but he wanted to know.. amongst other things about you.

“C-Cool. I’ll use green. Usually a commission comes with a deposit but um since you’re sparing my life, I guess that’s enough payment.” You looked away and locked eyes with your sketchbook.

Without a single word you crossed the room and began sketching out samples of Joker’s mouth before you forgot. Not like you ever could.

By the time you looked up, he and his men were gone.

You could call it an obsession the way you strived to perfect Joker’s smile.

The apartment was littered with your many demo sketches before you finally went with your gut and put a paintbrush to the easel. For the next week, you barely slept and only ate enough to keep yourself alive so you could complete The Joker's commission. Your life was kinda on the line here so it had to be perfect.

And you finished right in the nick of time.

Joker came alone this time and he strolled into your apartment as if he owned it. You had yet to get the lock fixed after his henchmen kicked it open but regardless. Joker did not have any manners. Or a sense of personal space.

You were standing back to gauge where you wanted to begin flinging paint when his voice startled you.

“Leave it as is.”

You jumped in fright and Joker steadied you with a firm grip to your waist. You didn’t know that he brought you flush to his chest until you felt his breath hit your neck. You didn't question how he got inside or how you failed to hear him in the first place.

Joker was so warm, it erased all conscious thought from your mind. It sounded insane, but you felt safe in Joker's arms and the relative ease that you relaxed into his hold terrified you more.

The two of you stared at your art in silence even as your heart hammered out of your chest. Was this seriously happening? What did he say?

Oh right. Leave it as is.

You took in your final painting and you had to admit. He was right. It was perfect as is, no color required. There was no pain to purge onto this canvas; a first in your collection. You couldn't bring yourself to tarnish the mysterious beauty you painted in black and white.

As Joker’s scars grazed your skin, burning a clean path up to your neck, the both of you knew..

This wouldn't be the last time you painted Joker.

SpiderStar is my Spidersona (based off of myself) that I made some time after the release of the second spider-verse movie :)

My character is African-American and Bigender, and his pronouns are he/him and she/her. When he was 25, he was bit by the spider when he was still in college and taking classes. So when he woke up the next morning to find out he grew 2 inches taller, could walk on walls, and got ✨Free Top Surgery✨ he had a lot of explaining to do X'D

I haven't finalized his design yet, but I did doodle a few pages of him and his suit, and added his color palette and what his hair looks like. For the color palette, the first four colors are the colors of his suit, and the last color is his skin color. And for his hair it's this color blond, and his hair didn't change color for any reason X'D, he just felt like dying it that color after he became a hero

I missed drawing my og oc so I redrew a bunch of my traditional sketches of my oc digitally- and feitan bc apparently I like shipping my oc with short guys. At this point my oc is just my self insert oc 😭

also I suck at drawing feitan like I just can’t draw his eyes or hair right but JDKDKSK—whatever it at least resembles him. BUT I did enjoy drawing child feitan 🤪 definitely my favorite of the doodles. Also random kinda but I originally create my oc bc of hxh so- (sorry kokichi you’re like second LMAO except I see phys Rin and og Rin as two separate people idk or like Rin from another universe or AU idk smth like that)

OH and I just wanna say- I don’t have a proper reference for my og oc (digitally at least) so her colors and design are very inconsistent HAHAHA- so um I will also consider making a reference for her :,)

Also I desperately need to practice writing Japanese (hence why I write in Japanese in some of my doodles so don’t mind me trying to double task) bc I know if I don’t practice I’m gonna forget some characters and I’m gonna return to my Japanese with the knowledge of a beginner and I’m gonna get scolded and I’m gonna fail 🤩 so um, fun.

My Youtube channel recently reached 100k subscribers and even though it seems cliché or something unimportant to most people, it's quite special to me, so I wrote this text to at least express part of what I feel... I know it is extremely tedious to read a huge text, I won't judge you if you want to skip this and continue with what you were doing, but I'm immensely grateful to those who are going to read this (I don't know where you got the patience from) well, let's go…

I created the channel in 2017, two years after my first contact with Animation Memes, I was quite naive, I was still studying at school and all I wanted was to show my stories to people, even if my drawings were full of errors and the videos had a simple and amateur editing, I had a lot of fun and was really amazed to see a community growing and being inspired by the videos I made.

One thing I observed is that each animation meme YouTuber at the time was part of a group that interacted and did several collabs with each other, I wanted to be part of one, I don't deny that, especially Brazilian youtubers like DaianeBR, but I was happy to be just me and my subscribers, I remember when for the first time a video reached more than 1 million views (Fantasize Meme), I simply didn't know what to do with the huge audience that out of nowhere subscribed to my channel at the time kkkkkk

I grew and developed a lot over the years, both in art and as a person, my life changed and I went through difficulties and pain that almost took away the shine and desire to create that I had at the beginning of the channel (That's why my persona changed to a more apathetic character and little by little she regained some of her color and personality) I was close to reaching that 100k subscriber mark before, in 2019, however... Due to the problems in my personal life, I had difficulty finding the desire to draw from before and that's why the channel was stopped for a long time, losing many subscribers, which is normal, YouTube demands frequency, if it doesn't receive this, you are forgotten by the algorithm. From then on, the channel became something more secondary in my life, almost forgetting its existence at times. These were difficult times and in the next few years I focused on recovering what I lost.

In 2020 I joined the Ordem Paranormal fandom, it was there that I managed to get back on my feet and met friends who are like family to me today: Insaniam Inter Chao, my found family. That's why I changed my persona once again, little by little recovering the colors and shine of the past. With them with me to this day I managed to continue on this journey, they are very important to me, capable of unlocking feelings that one day in the past I myself locked them deep inside.

I ended up being in 2 other fandoms in which I made related videos for, including QSMP focusing mainly on the Hideduo ship kkkkk, I met wonderful people in this community and together with some of them I managed a doodles account on Twitter, even though I'm not in that fandom anymore, I don’t want to forget them, I will show support in each one's journey as much as I can.

And here I am in 2024, many things this year also almost took me to the ground, I still don't have the same shine as I used to and my emotional state is still not 100%, but I have dreams and the desire to continue creating, showing the stories that I create and make people inspired. Is it stupid and cliché or even too idealistic? Yes. I'm not intelligent and I'm probably just one of the crowd of artists on the internet, but knowing that to this day, whether I'm an old or new subscriber, following what I do makes me very happy... You know, I'm an extremely insecure person and I often don't I feel worthy of nothing, I don't even know how I interact with a certain number of audiences, that's why on my social medias i post a drawing/video and just disappear kkkkk, I may seem extremely responsible and admirable in the eyes of others who see my art, but I'm a person full of problems and I'm very afraid of the future, but despite everything I'm grateful for everyone who likes my content, even if it takes a long time to be posted.

I'm not famous for having 100k, I don't have a good frequency of videos, I'm terrible at interacting with the public, I don't do well with self-promotion, my videos don't get many views and I practically don't know how to follow any algorithm kkkkk, a complete mess, but I really thank everyone who participates in my journey, whether from the beginning or those who have just subscribed...

Everyone has a world inside them, everyone has their own story, you are more complex than you think and you are much more than just numbers. If I am able to inspire someone as diverse and deep as you, that would be my greatest happiness.

Honestly I will share to you, drawing Zoro actually felt so familiar and natural because my number 1 hasubando and obsession, Nero, has similar features as him especially when i draw them, which i found amusing because their hair, their eyes shape, almost look alike!

Also indeed! when learning to draw characters, i like to start drawing them in their og style to have a feel and note their most defining features. It helps me translating it into my own style!

Also for a little personal enjoyment, making fake pages in the future of a ZoLu story in odacchi's manga style. A personal guilty pleasure to see them in a 'what if they're canon? ' ehehehehe. Perhaps I will share it in the future! If i finish one! (lol)

so uhm these are my designs for Finny and Gene. I drew these back when I started reading A Separate Peace in my high-school sophomore year. They’re pretty old drawings. At the time, I only drew these just to have some faces to put a name on (to help me visualize easier idk)

Well fast forward, my class finished reading ASP and I have been an ASP addict ever since.

okay im going to word vomit now

okay erm thought process of these designs:

Finny-

i tried to make him as book accurate at possible but ngl i actually i thought he was a red head before i looked up what he actually looked like. I genuinely wouldve believed he was a red head if i didnt looked it up (yes im referring to the ppl propagating redhead finny)

i gave him very sharp features and a somewhat messy hairstyle to symbolize his wild nature but also neat enough to get him by in school.

His shirt usually untucked or hastily put on. Most times he has his coat off or unbuttoned

he has some freckles and moles too YAY

Gene-

made him the most basic looking guy with the most basic features: black hair and brown eyes (okay ik his hair looks blue and u can barely see his brown eyed but i was limiting myself on colors GSSSYSHDHHSHA )

ofc i HAD to make him the complete opposite of Finny. His features are more squarish and rounder. because he always does random 90° angles out of nowhere

his hair is more neat and put together compared to Finny’s. It’s very structured to be square shaped. i like to think he uses a little bit of gel but it’s not a tight slickback. he lets his hair go loose bc he wants to follow Finny’s footsteps and be wild and free too 🤩🤩 yet he can’t help but follow the standard of having a neat slick hair and ofc follow school dresscode 🤷‍♀️

his fit is also more put together. he always makes sure his tie is neat and his coat is buttoned up most times

i gave him a mole :)

this was a fun one to make cuz he literally never describes himself in the book💀💀 i find that really interesting tho. perhaps it was on purpose so readers can relate to Gene more by emotion and not feel distanced by physical features

(yea i obviously put in a lot more thought into Gene’s design than Finny’s)

(i still love them both tho)

FUN FACTS YES THERE’S MORE:

honestly thought Finny was a latino and/or hispanic cuz of his tan skin. (im well aware white ppl can look tan and not be a hispanic but also hispanics and latinx could also look pale white i was lowkey a little ignorant back then 💀.) idk maybe he could have some hispanic blood 🤷‍♀️

do not mind the messiness and low quality, i did this in the dead of night on a note-taking app called Notability

that last note may sound absolutely unrelated BUT WAIT! I actually have a whole stock of ASP Notability doodles! More to come!! maybe…

their hairstyles and clothing are based on actual 1940s styles :D it’s my favorite thing about their design especially their hair. it was fun researching and incorporating historical trends

I haven’t had that much motivation for a bit, UNTIL, something happened-

So I was just scrolling through Tumblr one morning and then I came across @ali-flaion that made some doodles with some new palettes, and because I am myself- the only thought in my mind was “WE HAVE TO USE THOSE”, and then that also made me scroll through Pinterest to find more interesting palettes- and, well…

Ngl, I really liked drawing the poses for Annie, and the one on top (the bright orange) was my favorite, considering I also really like bright colors that remind me of candy y’know?

OKAY BUT LIKE THE TOP PALETTE WAS MY FAVORITE ONE TO DO- IT REMINDS ME SO MUCH OF COFFEE AND I WANT TO E A T I T.

And of course I had to draw my boy Porkrind because I love him 😌✨

ALSO- have I ever shown you guys my design of Phone Guy? Of course I haven’t- SO UH HERE’S HIS DESIGN-

I also like both palettes, but I think I like left one more, that one I had a lot of fun with :] 👍

The bottom palette I might use A LOT more because of just how nice the colors are and I REALLY liked using them- and I like the top one too- (it gives me sunset vibes and I love it <33)

What can I say, I really like it! And I just felt the need to draw Peppino with the palette since it works to well with him-

I’ve seen other artists doing a year-in-review, so I thought it would be neat to do one myself!! Looking at my art all lined up like this, I’m actually really proud. I feel like I’ve reconnected with my art this year and started loving it again.

More ramblings under the cut:

I made 18 full pieces of art this year, 15 of which I posted to Tumblr. Of the posted artwork, 6 pieces were of my OCs (40%), 4 pieces were horror fanart (~27%), 4 pieces were Korn fanart (~27%), and 1 piece was DC Comics fanart (~7%). Additionally, I did 3 non-posted pieces of art as requests/gifts for friends. One was a fic cover I did for my beloved @spookyscaryslashy, and the other two were gifts for my darling @bisexual-horror-fan. I have plenty of other sketches, doodles, and half-finished WIPs that I didn’t post either, but I wouldn’t call them full finished art pieces.

I think I’ve progressed a lot as an artist this year! I started using way more references when drawing, which has definitely improved my art. I also started experimenting with colors. I think it makes my art look better in general, yes, but I also just had so much fun with it. And I feel like it’s helped me develop my own style. I feel so reinvigorated by just fucking around with the colors, and I’m so much more satisfied with my art because of it.

Some personal goals for next year: continuing to better my craft, obviously. Continuing to have fun with colors. I think I’d like to draw more creatures and monsters, as I did very little of that this year and really wish I had. And I’d like to work more on story art, both for the fics I post and the OG stuff I’m working on.

Lastly, I would like to say HUGE FUCKING THANK YOU to anyone who has ever said anything nice on one of my art pieces. Whether it was a comment, tags on a reblog, excited shouting in DMs or on Discord…… seriously. Thank you. You guys keep me going. I love y’all so, so much 💖💜💖💜💖

WHO: As for the event, Nemo will be coming in to make waves! She's gonna drag in poor Sebek with her as her plus one.

HOW: How did the jester convince Sebek? Let's just say that he didn't want to accompany her at first, but he realized the mayhem she might cause if it was Silver who supervised her instead. Better that it was him yelling at the top of his lungs over a sleepyhead letting her run loose.

FAVE COLOR: Nemo obviously likes green, the most creative color of the rainbow! (not really).

WHAT: As for what she likes doing during summer, she loves to relax and just unwind in the sun! Thus, it's no-brainer what she's going to do at the party: sunbathing, but with a twist!

TWIST?: She's going to bury herself in the sand with only her head sticking out. The jester claims that this odd practice has therapeutic effects.

One would hope this isn't one of her silly tricks, but that's just wishful thinking...

--- Nemo's schemes had already effected many of the beach goers, but to be fair those involved did have warning. The most popular of their attractions being their sand cakes, a gamble on whether you receive and actual cake or some beach sand. Even Tuna took chance on the idea, though their reasoning might have been a bit different.

Having picked a bucket for themself, Tuna began eating a lightbulb switching on as they remembered Nemo mentioning being buried in the sand. "Say, want to start a head garden with me?" It took a second for Nemo to understand, but a wicked smirk grew "I would ever be honored~" Tuna continued to crunch on their 'cake' as the two began to clean up and find a suitable spot. They used sticks to draw a border in the sand and make faux paths and used palm leaves to provide some shade. Once the base was done it was time to dig. Long flat beds were dug out and ready to be lied in, it quite a while, but they managed to get 3 done. Now it was time find their first customer and unfortunately for Sebek, he seemed to be the first to pass by.

Nemo and Tuna were quick to team up on him, Tuna holding him from behind and Nemo began leading the way. Nemo became the perfect spokesman "Please right this way dear customer! Our garden is perfect for relaxation and clearing the mind~ Surely you can only be at your best if your mind is at its best as well!" Sebek squirmed, digging his heels into the sand to no avail and he yelled "I WILL NOT! UNHAND ME!" It was no use, with both Nemo and Tuna combined, they managed to pin him tot he bed and began to bury him thoroughly. At some point Sebek gave up, deciding it wouldn't hurt to try and feel the 'therapeutic' process. However, once he saw Tuna and Nemo drawing silly notes he knew he was pranked, "WHO ARE YOU CALLING A FRUIT?!" ---

LOLOLOL Poor Sebek~ I seem to keep writing him getting the butt end of the stick XD AND AAAA first nemo interaction yey!!! Studies I did for fun ✨

I really love drawing on my iPad, and it’s lots of fun using Procreate on it! I thought of these as “comforting” doodles because golden colors reminds me of my childhood..? Idk I just think it’s really fun to use these colors also :) I may draw fan art soon of some things too!

✨Weekly Progress #29-30✨

Let me start this off by apologizing for my inactivity 🙇‍♂️ I try not to dive too deeply into my mental health on this blog, but those who know me well know how much I struggle with it. I think my brain shut down and retreated after finishing my recent projects. I relied on daily never-ending tasks to get me through each day with a sense of accomplishment so when that ended, I wound up in a void where I couldn't bring my creativity to amount to anything new.

I kicked my butt back into gear the last couple of days after realizing how little I did during week 29 (and week 28 looked inflated, but I did most of the work in 2-3 days leaving most of my week blank).

I don't know where I'll go from here, but I've worked out some new upcoming plans for future projects! And I'll do my best to start replying to messages and comments;; I've left everyone on read for long enough...!!

A Kiss with the Devil

I completed the refsheets for Ley's upcoming yuri game!

It was a lot of fun designing them from scratch and then being able to render them in full body art! I've always shied away from full body pieces because they take a lot of time and energy... the refsheets took over a week from sketch to final piece. But I'm really happy with how they came out!

Camille, the player character, and her love interest, an immortal and possibly immoral eldritch creature, Liz!

A Sky of Falling Birds

I'm working on proposals for funding and marketing of this game as it will be a commercial work when finished. I created a new roadmap for how I'll plan to get more assets done (...and reduce the number of assets, hopefully). The current plan is to have a Demo 2.0 for Yuri Jam to better show off the story since the current demo focused more on the art and animation aspect.

Stuck in a Yandere Visual Novel... HELP!!

Yes...! I've still got a bit of work left for this project!! Mainly some future updates. I do want to get a steam release for SYVNH one day so I'm working towards that!

I will also be putting out some surveys soon for interest in merch based on the characters. The feasibility of it will depend on interest for what type of merch, ofc, but at the very least, I will be working on some new art for folks soon [: As a thank you for playing, and all the love you've shown for the game so far!

I went into more detail than I probably should've in the intro of this post, but even in my "slump," I've been busy practicing art when I'm not getting my butt kicked by some Hollow Knight mini boss for 2 hours.

I've started a doodle blog, that some folks found in less than 24 hours 💦I'm not ready to formally connect the two together, but if it seems like I've been active there, it's just cause I draw a lot every day. It makes the monotony feel better. This blog will still contain all of my devwork, but all my art musings will be in that one.

I'm sure I'll have the courage to link the two together soon.

My Typical Art Process✨🌈

Was gonna reply to anon with this, but figured it was a bit too unrelated so I'll make a separate post! I do kinda wanna share my process anyway for anyone curious. I made something similar for twitter once but I no longer use twitter and my style has changed since then so here's a new one!

Tl;dr I draw for fun only and I have learned that textures and overlays and post-processing can do a LOT when it comes to making something look more "complete" while also not taking a lot of additional time. This is just my personal style spawned from my laziness and my love of harsh colors😆

I'll put it below the cut because it's long!

So to begin with, when I doodle (as opposed to a proper drawing that I take my time on) this is my typical "lineart":

I just draw the… what do you call it? The under parts… Like the circle and shapes, etc. to get the pose. Then lower the opacity and do another sketch on top of that. Then I lower the opacity of that and do ANOTHER sketch on top. 😆 I do that as many times as necessary until it looks like something. I don't worry a ton about anatomy or messiness or stray lines, it's just for fun to get an idea out of my head :)

Sometimes I also leave the under-sketches in or sometimes I turn the layer off. For this one I left them in.

Then I turn on all my textures, overlays, and H/S/L correction layer and crank the saturation up. The selected colorful layer was something I made once and saved it as an image material so I can just slap it on any time as an overlay. You will see it in almost all of my art, she's my beloved crutch and also I just like it lol. Other than that, I sometimes use paper textures that CPS came with and sometimes I make a perlin noise layer with the smallest grain size and set it to 'soft light'.

I also have recently been using a manga screentone overlay that comes with CSP.

Then I start coloring underneath!

Even in ones where I DO put in effort and try to use better anatomy and clean up a lot of the scribbles I pretty much never use clean lineart simply because I cannot be bothered 🤷🏾‍♂️ I don't really do anything different here, I just spend more time one it:

Also, even then the overlays and textures do a lot of the heavy lifting. Some of the overlays and effects I draw myself like the rainbow boarders around them and of course the doodle hearts. I don't draw backgrounds very often but I don't like an empty background so overlays or little doodles or text effects typically go there.

I should also mentions that I use the lightroom mobile app to further enhance all of my art, as shown above in the before and afters. I don't really have much to say on this point. I used to use lightroom mobile a lot when I did doll photography and I pretty much just wing it based on what I learned doing that. I like to mess with the texture settings and do masking edits to change the foreground and background independently to get better color balances. Like a bozo I pay for the subscription but I bet you could use any old editing app.

Oh, and I do pretty much everything with these brushes here. I got them a while back when they were free for 48 hours but unfortunately they are no longer free and cost 80 clippy now :( Should also warn you that they saturate any color and idk how to stop it from doing that so I just adjust the color accordingly before using or edit in post. Very nice though!!

Hello, I'm here for the Hacker hair hcs, please. Do you think he's always worn a wig? Do you hc his natural hair color is diff? Blonde like when he took the Ring of Radopolis?

Hiya! Any Hacker hcs are welcome and I’m dyin’ to talk ab his hair. So here they are + some doodles :3

I think he used to have hair when he was younger, but when he lost his power he lost his locks with it! Kind of like accelerated aging. That’s a whole other story so I’ll stick with his hair for now.

Young Hacker loved the smooth, effortless, dashing slicked back style of the 50s. 

Of course, as is everything else in the universe, his hair seems to be against him - coarse, doesn’t hold volume well, and is straight with the exception of a tiny bit of wave near the ends. So he got it cut into a well blended, layered/mullet style so he could carefully gel, tease, and blow dry it into that coveted 50s style. (With a dash of cyberspace trends too ofc ✨👌)

When he lost his power, it was a few days before his body started suffering real, shocking consequences and his hair fell out in his hands in chunks. Quite traumatic for him and he despises every moment that he’s forced to wear a wig instead, especially after all the time and effort he put into his hair. 

His wig he keeps in a more severe, slicked back look, perhaps more fitting for his villainous aura. In order to keep every strand out of his face and looking good, he uses his own brand of wig gel to both give it shine and keep the style in hold. 

Hacker has a difficult time embracing his hair by itself, mostly because it was basically the opposite of what he wanted - straight, coarse, flat, and medium thickness. If he didn’t know how to take the best care of it (he didn’t) it could get oily easily  and stringy. Very boring, to him. He does everything he can to change it, using products galore or various methods to get it looking the way he wants in the morning. (Messy hair 👇)

To him, throwing product after product and over brushing and overall damaging the hair is perfectly normal and he would find it very difficult to believe that somebody like Slider can wake up, shake their head, and continue on their day. 

His hair def looks perfect when he’s fixed it up, but who could tell differently with basically glue to keep it in place and slime to give it shine? Very much fake and sculpted into that beauty standard.

At night time he’ll drag a comb through it, scraping out all the shit collected in between the hairs, and underneath is a frizzy, damaged wig. He just thinks that’s how it goes to get the hair you want and it’s infused into his daily routine.

Truthfully, Hacker’s a sad case of ignorance and arrogance about hair products and embracing one’s hair texture. If he learned somewhere to take care of his hair it’d probably be shiny, more wavy (coconut oil yo), thick, and coarse. You know, rock the right styles or stick with the slicked back look - either would work. And after getting his wig, if he ever got his power back and therefore his hair, I don’t think this would be too far off from his search history. And if he did figure this out, he’d probably be much happier with it. Although I’m pretty sure he’d be happy with any hair after his baldness’s XD

Which brings me to his wish - to have a head of hair of his own. His dream style. 

Thick, voluptuous, soft, wavy, lightweight, voluminous, blonde…

And of course you might’ve wondered before, ‘well, why not get a wig with all that?’ 

It’s his own hair of course! Effortless! He doesn’t have to do anything to fight with it or change it, simply maintain! And it’s *his*. Not a bought wig which bruises his ego.

For his natural hair color - I think it’s black due to his black eyebrows, and examples of black body hair animated in the show. Blonde is possibly a color he lusted after for a long time, or maybe just a whim of the day. 

It’d be interesting if blonde was his natural hair color though - fun design!

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED? Everyday just about. But for various reasons. Today, for instance, I was leaving back to work from lunch when I saw my cat sitting so serenely outside near some flowering trees, (it's becoming an early spring here, so everything is beginning to bloom.) He looked so peaceful in the late afternoon light; the gentle wind rustling in the trees behind him. I was overwhelmed by how much I love him that I actually started crying. 😭💕💕 See below for the happy kitty squints.

WHAT SPORTS DO YOU PLAY/HAVE YOU PLAYED? I... was on our high school's tennis team for exactly one semester. I won one game by default because not only did my partner and I suck terribly, but so did the other team. We won with maybe a 0-1 score. It was very bad. 😂😂

SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS? Definitely happy endings. Like, don't get me wrong, I enjoy relatively scary movies, but it's gotta have a good ending. I like to see people triumph at the end, or at least end with hope.

WHERE WERE YOU BORN? The States. In a hospital. Somewhere. I think in Oklahoma? 🤔

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES? Drawing. It's more like glorified doodling for months, until it becomes a full-fledged artwork. I recently started driving, and so I like going for very long drives.

DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS? My old man baby boy sweet child precious meow meow I adopted from my coworker. He's the most social cat I've ever met. He's bursting with personality, and everyone in the neighborhood knows him (and f e e d s him 😭😭.)

HOW TALL ARE YOU? 5'7. Though, fun fact, I had physical therapy on my neck last summer with cervical traction, and during my follow-up appointment, the nurse asked me my height as she was measuring me, to which I replied, "I'm 5'7." After a moment, she paused and said, "No, honey, actually, you're 5'8!"

FAVORITE SUBJECT IN SCHOOL? High school: Art class, of course. Though, I also loved English. Specifically, the writing and grammar bits. College: my whole art curriculum and Film Class.

DREAM JOB? I thought I knew, but it continues to change. I'd like to get into something that helps people, specifically LGBTQIA+. I'd like a job where I get to actively improve people's lives. Anyone have any ideas, please let me know! 🙌
