Idk if someone will say it but has no one ever talked about Kaidos obsession with Oden? Like this man sees his shadow all the time. Like I know it's because Oden might have been the one to kill him/best him, finally having a true enemy to fight. And also the horror in his eyes when he couldn't fight fairly against Oden? Like I'm glad he killed that hag. Second w for Kaido (first one being calling Yamato his son). It's just I think if there were different circumstances, I think they would've been aparring buddies.

Fandom Gripe #23: I know that fandom is in some deep denial about its treatment of female characters that are canonically involved with fan favorite m/m ships, but do y’all realize that when you disappear female characters from the narrative wholesale to push the idea that your canonically straight fav was “secretly gay all along!” you’re making several bad implications? That 1) bi men don’t exist, 2) bi men do exist, but those who have genuinely loved a woman before cannot genuinely love a man after that (therefore bi men don’t exist in practice), 3) women cannot inspire genuine love and devotion in men, therefore any relationship with a woman is “lesser” than the one they later have a man (see previous parenthesis), or 4) to acknowledge the existence of a lovable woman who isn’t a terrible person, where if a relationship previously existed, it did not end because of “incompatibility,” is enough to destabilize the present relationship between two queer men?
Because why is the tgcf fandom allergic to acknowledging that He Xuan had a whole ass fiancée that he loved? Why does no one ever seem to remember that the kidnappings and murders of He Xuan’s sister and fiancée were the final straws that sent him on his rampage, and he still keeps a shrine to them in the present-day of the story? Why is her entire existence and significance to He Xuan as a man, character, and to his character arc disappeared in favor of pushing Shi Qingxuan—the brother of the man responsible for his fiancée’s death—into that same role, as if to say that her impact on He Xuan is significant... just not when it's from her? Why does He Xuan’s life in fandom essentially begin not just after her death but because of it?

tsuna is the patron saint of the mundane, of the normal and common place, of the average and unimpressive. he's the unshakable believer of that being enough in and of itself, of that being fulfilling and fundamental to achieve happiness. and he's the unyielding protector and defender of the beauty and love and kindness within the ordinary, of the holy and divine and sacred within it, and of them being worth fighting for.
tsuna's the guy who makes the ordinary extraordinary from the sheer way he holds it so very close to his heart like it's the most precious thing in the world, and it's the thing about him i, for one, love him most for

Please consider Barry Allen fully knowing Leonard "I've Never Willingly Felt A Feeling" Snart has a thing for him, and wants to pursue that, but Snart is too scared of fucking up or getting Barry hurt to say something
So it's the opposite of that meme I've seen a lot of Barry saying Snart doesn't have a crush on him and everyone, Snart included, says he does
It's:
Snart: I don't have a crush on Barry Allen
Lisa: Yes you do
Mick: Yes You Do.
Cisco [hiding behind Lisa for protection]: Yes you do
Caitlin: Yes you do
Joe, who hates this but can't stop it: Yes you do
Iris, who equally hates this but surviving: Yes you do
Barry, crying with how much he wants to love this man: Yes you do

No one judge or hate me for what I’m about to say.
When I’m reading One piece fan fiction/headcannons about Zoro and they say he’s a bad dad or hates kids, I immediately stop reading and move on to the next fic/headcanon because I remember the water 7 filler arc and how he (begrudgingly yet caring) took care of the baby triplets and children when the big brother role was forced onto him. Like Zoro? Hating kids?
For me it’s a bad take but whatever you do you 🤷🏻‍♀️
Edit: “ You three sleep quietly now :) “

thinking about olivia saying “the closest relationship [alicent] had is probably with aemond, but he’s turning into an absolute killer, which is terrifying for her” and how their relationship will change once she finds out about luke’s death. she’s going to be in such disbelief that the son she thought wouldn’t disappoint her, has in the most horrific way. will she even be able to look at him the same way again?? will they reconcile and be on good terms before he leaves king’s landing for the last time? based on ewan’s interview, aemond thinks his family’s love for him is conditional, i need them to prove him wrong. but then, wouldn’t it be so tragic if aemond continues on with that belief, desperately trying to prove he’s useful and worthy of their love by ending the war he believes he’s responsible for starting? no matter the cost, even if that means he has to die in the process.

The scene in The Jedi where Ahsoka tries to get Grogu to use the Force made me realise how long it actually was at that point since we last saw him use it. He hadn't used it since he pushed back the fire from the Incinerator troopers in Redemption.
I wonder if he didn't use it very much after that point because he was trying to say to Din that he didn't really want to be a Jedi anymore. That he didn't want to be reunited with his kind and he wanted to stay with Din. If he didn't use his powers there would be nothing to train.
Until Din showed Grogu he loved him so much that he was happy to let him go. So that's when Grogu decided he should take that path and retrain to be a Jedi...

I genuinely don't know at most points in the show, what Arthur would have done if he'd discovered Merlin's magic. I think that's a big part of what keeps this fandom so alive.
But in rewatching season 1, I see Arthur's sense of duty ruling every little action, or at least coming into play. If he is being observed, every single decision he makes puts his duty and responsibility as prince first. But when he's not, he's already got questions about his father's decisions. He's already got his doubts.
In episode 8 where Mordred is first introduced, he catches Morgana trying to flee with Mordred. You can see when he catches her that he wants to let her go. He wants to let her escape and take Mordred to safety. But as soon as this look crosses his face, he looks around and sees his guards/knights. It's their presence that forces his hand. He has an image to uphold and it's why he apprehends them in that moment, even though his heart tells him not to.
This brings me back to how he would react if Merlin's magic was revealed. I think that no matter what, after the first few episodes, he wouldn't want to arrest Merlin. But his actual actions would depend entirely on how his magic was revealed. If it happened in the first season, I think there would have been two options.
If Merlin's magic was revealed s01 when it was just Arthur and Merlin, and no one else nearby at all, none the wiser to any of it. Then Arthur would have sent Merlin away reluctantly. He would want him to stay but it's that sense of duty that would force his hand. He'd tell Merlin to go and never come back like he did with Lancelot. He would show him mercy and his heart would want Merlin to stay. But his fear of failing in the eyes of his kingdom would force his hand.
But if Merlin's magic were revealed in any other circumstance. Even if it were just with Arthur and Gaius, Arthur would reluctantly have him arrested. He would do the same thing he did to Morgana, he'd look around and see that he was being watched, that his moves were being measured, and he wouldn't want to fail. He is so incredibly burdened by his role as prince early on that he would feel no other option but to arrest him. But, I think he would help him escape. Merlin wouldn't let him go, but Arthur would do everything he could to get him released. He would break him out, but only after assuring his father that Merlin had been arrested. Only after playing the part of the dutiful prince. Then the following morning as alarm bells sound, he would lead the search parties, far away from Merlin.

the thing is. lestat loves louis's worst self.
and like. how utterly painfully scorchingly romantic. someone who loves the darkest parts of you, will never recoil from your worst impulses, will never deny you comfort shelter love for even the worst thing you could do.
but. how do you build an actual relationship with someone who doesn't care about your self-improvement? who doesn't support you growing and becoming your best self, who actively denigrates you for attempts at kindness and empathy? how do you navigate on the day to day with someone who wants nothing more than for you to behave monstrously?
and for louis, his entire life he feels he's been loved/accepted only conditionally. loved by his family only for his good deeds, for managing the household and taking care of his siblings. loved romantically only for fleeting moments, stolen away from the everpresent watchful eye of a homophobic society. loved in spite of the omnipresent racism pressing in on his every breath. so of course the deeply encompassing love lestat is offering him is enticing.
but i always say, for me, love is someone doing the dishes for you. doing a mundane, annoying, everyday task just so that your beloved doesn't have to do it. doing it consistently. it's fine to be swept off your feet by someone, but most of life involves being on your feet. love means being able to build a life with someone. and life is full of mundane annoyances. so your love must be able to deal with mundane annoyance.
and lestat has no intention of doing the dishes for louis.

i am not immune to the idea of s1-2 samifer
#avery.txt#young sam being so desperate and confused and distraught bc he thought he could escape this life but no. he couldn't#and here's this easy calm confident man who tells him it'll be alright bc he's strong and capable#sam keeps having nightmares but sometimes this man shows up and pushes them away and makes him feel at peace#not to be all freudian abt it but he never had this support from his father & now there's this handsome man encouraging and accepting him#so he feels Something. and it's fine because it's just this recurring dream right?#but then he finally is able to ask this dream man what/who he is and. he says he's an angel. who's been watching over sam since he was born#(this is a scenario where lucifer gets out of the cage 4 seasons early ig)#and sam finally feels SEEN. he finally feels like his faith has been worth it.#he throws caution to the wind. grabs his angel and kisses him. tells him he wants him even tho he knows its wrong.#and his angel is kinda taken aback. this was NOT where he saw this going/where he was trying to steer it. he didn't think sam would do THAT.#but he gives sam what he wants and oh. it's GOOD. sam dreams that he shows his angel all the love his angel has given him.#idk where this goes/what the endgame would be here but. i love young sam still grieving jess and searching for his dad or grieving for him#*being swept up by someone who gives him what he needs and cares about him unconditionally#and doesnt care that he ran away. that he doesnt obey. that he doesnt fit the mold. someone who loves these things about him.#i love them so much in every possible way <3 con or noncon <3 varying lvls of fucked up <3 love all of it#averywriting

#the PROBLEM is. some properties I like I cannot even talk about my Criticisms™ because if I do it attracts people whose side I am NOT on#like in the case of a certain british procedural show adopting old mystery novels that went on hiatus a lot. I did not like season 4.#but that is not because The Ship didn't go canon and it CERTAINLY wasn't because I never thought any of the show was good in#the first place. and I don't like The Main Ship of the c-chibs era but it's because the way it was written was VERY much not for me.#it's not because I think the whole era is trash (that ship was really the ONLY part of it I didn't like I loved everything else)#I DO have beef with some of the choices in season 8 of The Gritty Deconstruction Fantasy Show but they sure weren't ANY of the issues#that anyone else had!!! and I don't think it retroactively ruined the whole show actually!!!!!#like it's just so frustrating. especially since sometimes I DO want to break down what I consider to be unfortunate writing choices.#and I DO want to complain sometimes! but so much of the discussion around various properties is taken up by me just.#trying to explain that I'm allowed to like it in the first place and defending why I don't think it's Unconditionally Bad#so I can't ever like. for example. discuss the deaths in 8x03 and my issues with THOSE as character endpoints#or why they killed mary and had her husband act terribly to her for no reason just before she died#or how shitty it was in the last era for me to see ANOTHER character be mentally ill but in the most unobtrusive palatable way possible#(and then also make that really weird comment about a previous love interest??? who WAS unpalatable in many ways--though not like.#canonically mentally ill. even if I and many other people are drawn to that interpretation.)#perHAPS I want to talk about my confusion over the story's handling of j/d for reasons that are not 'I hate these characters' or#'that's pRoBLeMaTiC and you shouldn't ship it because that's pRoBLeMaTiC'#maybe I WILL just make a 4-hour video essay unpacking all my Thoughts™ on that show. because people don't have to watch it!#they could just hit the back button!
