it makes me feral how aegon has always rejected and resented his targaryen identity--the long hair and the language lessons and the marriage to his sister--in what is undoubtedly avoidant attachment resulting from viserys's neglect, and yet sunfyre brings him joy. a targaryen's dragon represents a huge locus for their identity as targaryens; it is a physical manifestation of their supposed dragon's blood and a primary source of power for them. and yet aegon adores sunfyre, despite all that sunfyre represents, because sunfyre chose him the way viserys did not.

Why is the show acting like the smallfolk don't have a single brain cell among them? Aemond even brings up in the episode that the reason everyone is starving is because of Rhaenyra's blockade. While yes, I can obviously see the smallfolk becoming upset with the castle for not taking care of them, they should be feeling just as much if not more resentment for Rhaenyra. Her sending across food should have been an insult, especially because the way she distributed it caused a riot and forced people to literally fight each other for scraps. The implication is that she has more than enough food for her to be able to send it to King's Landing in mass quantities like that. And why is that? Bc she CONTROLS the BLOCKADE. SHE is the one starving them. Which I completely understand the people's frustrations growing with the Greens especially with Aemond locking them in and being a harsher ruler than Aegon, but they should also be just as angry towards Rhaenyra. Just because they're not nobility doesn't make them stupid.

Grian: What's going on here?
Mumbo: Well, you know, the other day, when we were in the boat, and you called me potato boy, I was like, 'Man! That has a ring to it!'.
Mumbo: So I've become a potato.

911 really is such a good reminder of the particularly kind of joy that is weekly, seasons-long shows with many episodes per season. every character gets a moment to shine even in a truncated season. the satisfaction of seeing characters grapple with stuff that happened YEARS ago. having multi-episode arcs and one-off arcs that are equally enjoyable. beach episodes (metaphorical). I know we're all saying this all the time but why can't more tv be like this

I have seen exactly 1 episode of Blue Eye Samurai and I am gobsmacked by how amazing it is. Mizu is already my everything. I am almost never so deeply invested so quickly in any media. I am obsessed. If the rest of the show is consistent in quality with the first episode then this show is Arcane level incredible, and I do not say that lightly.
