Tattoo artist! Eren who's caught off guard but complies when you say yes and he places a few kisses on your face before asking to kiss you on the lips. If you say yes again, you'll be rewarded with the softest kiss, fleeting to tease but it makes you feel better.

When it's done and wrapped, and aftercare is talked over Tattoo artist! Eren gets your number and a date with you later once you're not sore and hurting.

why does the aot fandom feel the need to “badassify” mikasa, despite her already being a well-written badass woman?

what i mean by this is fanart being drawn with her being alternative, or in all black or “masculine” clothes. obviously there’s nothing wrong with dress like this, this is how i dress, but we canonically see mikasa in very feminine outfits throughout the show, and to me this adds so much to her character.

she’s wears pink and skirts and dresses traditionally “feminine”, but is still one of the strongest soldiers i think this shows that woman who want to keep their femininity can still be badass, and dont need to act “like a man” in order to do so.

additionally, i think it shows that mikasa yearns to be more than a soldier. it shows she wants to live a normal life. to love eren and live with just that love.

of course have your headcanons, headcanons make fandoms more fun. but i believe by ignoring this aspect of mikasa, it ignores an important part of her character

Is it just me, or does the anti Vivziepop hate-watcher crowd treat the female cast way worse than either Hellaverse show ever did?

They dismiss every installment that tries to give the female Helluva Boss characters more attention. (Queen Bee, Hell's Belles, Ghostfuckers, the ending of Seeing Stars.) It's either not good enough because male characters are also involved or it doesn't count because reasons. They ignore or downplay the roles of every woman in Hazbin Hotel. (Cherri Bomb in Addict, Velvette in episodes 2 and 3, Carmilla Carmine in episodes 3 and 7, Rosie in episode 7, Sera and Emily in episode 6, Lute in every episode she's in) Even Charlie is treated by Hazbin antis as if she's flat, one-note and might as well not even be the protagonist because she's not as "badass" or angsty as Alastor and Angel Dust. Carmilla is lumped with the other "badly-written and bland" Hellaverse women because......... she's a mother??? Vaggie has a tragic backstory revealed in episode 6 and said backstory is exactly the reason why, as Husk puts it, she judges others and hates herself. But she's also a love interest, and as well all know, that automatically makes you a bad character. They forget that Lute is way more competent than Adam, and she survives while he doesn't, meaning she's a recurring antagonist who's obviously gonna have a bigger role in season 2 while Adam is killed off for good. (By Niffty, no less.) Sera, Emily, Rosie and Cherri are basically chopped liver to them.

Maybe, just maybe, the reason why the Hellaverse hate-watchers think the female cast collectively sets women back 100 years is because they're not paying any attention to them. And we all know their minds would change real quick if Viv was a man. Seriously, how many times have male writers been praised by leftists for creating "strong female characters" ? Look at how much Mikasa Ackerman from Attack on Titan is treated like a sacred cow just for not being a damsel in distress, despite her not being written all that differently from Millie. Like, these people don't REALLY give a shit about the Hellaverse women characters as much as they say they do.

Capcom are lowkey (highkey) cowards for a multitude of reasons, but two in particular irk me.

One, I don’t know why they won’t give Leon longer hair and more scars. I know allegedly they were going to give him longer hair for RE6 I think, long to the point where he would be able to tie it behind his head but they still kept his same haircut. Now don’t get me wrong, I love his Karen bang, but I WANT HIM TO BE MORE SHAGGY! LET HIS HAIR GROW OUT!! And obviously, I don’t believe in the idea that Leon doesn’t have scars on his body, he absolutely does like there’s no fucking way. Besides the one on his shoulder he got from Raccoon City and the knife scar he got from fighting Krauser in RE4 (original was on the cheek, then redone on his leg allegedly in the remake), he has to have more. I want to see it, I want to see his body covered in them. I understand they’re hellbent on maintaining this “pretty boy” aesthetic when it comes to Leon specifically because he’s like the baby girl of the franchise, but that man’s been through hell I want to be able to see it in his appearance (we have been able to see it, I’m just greedy and want to see more). If they bring him back for future games, and they better, I hope he has long hair or something, I miss my baby.

And two, I hate how they depict the women in the franchise because they just refuse to age them meanwhile they’re making these dilfs (Chris and Leon) into sexy peepaws (not complaining). Claire should definitely look older now and she does in the CGI adaptations, but not enough for my liking. Same thing with Ada, girlypop is hitting 40, LET HER AGE! (I also miss Ada like where did mama go?) Now for Jill in particular, I know her being infected with a virus in RE5 messed with her aging and that’s their reasoning excuse to make her seem younger, but I want to see Jill be more buff? She’s so fucking badass, and that’s not saying she isn’t hot or feminine she absolutely is (I want her bad). But I don’t think a character like her wouldn’t not have muscles. Like she’d pack a killer punch, I want to see her biceps ripple as she moves. I love strong female characters that also look strong, like Korra from TLOK and Mikasa from AOT.

ok so the main difference in my au from other is that the veterans and the ackermann family all have to stay in paradis (veterans is just cuz im lazy, ackermanns is because how would they be important at all in Marley if they cant turn into titans)

Reiner - Reiner pretty much plays the role of Eren just with a difference mindset. also Reiner still has mommy issues (Karina survives the fall unfortunately )!!

Bertholdt - pretty much plays the role of Armin however Reiner is the one who got bullied when they were kids. also Bert's dad dies in the fall unfortunately traumatizing him

Annie - Annie still has daddy issues her father heavily pushes her into the Corps after the fall

Porco - Porco lwk bullied Reiner when they were little BUT he'll tag along w the gang in joining the Corps after the fall because he wants to be just like his big brother

Marcel - Marcel and Pieck and Zeke were all in the same training corps together about 2 years before the fall !! (Marcel and Pieck are 5 years older than RBA + Porco while Zeke is 7 years older)

Pieck - Pieck lwk gonna play a bigger role than Marcel hesgonnadie but she is pretty much everyones big sister and also really badass as a survey corp. also her best friend (Zeke) mysteriously disappeared in 845 (like right before the fall)

Zeke - Zeke mysteriously disappeared in 845 i wonder what could be going on there. his grandparents were pissed at him for joining the Survey Corps despite being told to join the Military Police (he could have easily joined too he was 3rd in his class)

Mikasa - yes Mikasa is still here, and she unfortunately did get sold into trafficking at age 9. she escaped though she's a badass and now she's in the corps (dw Eremikas Eren still saves her just in a different way)

Erwin, Hange, Levi and all the other veterans and higher ups in the Paradis military are in Paradis

Who's in Marley?

Eren - Eren has the Attack Titan because Marley never loses possession of it in this AU!! Also he gets sent to Paradis which is kinda funny cuz his dad by some miracle came from there and told him right before he got sent!! Eren kinda knew that he just assumed Grisha was fucking stupid (this is the one part of my story thats really farfetched BUT the ackermann family told Dina that the outside world is advanced. Dina died on the way there if you cant tell)

Armin - Armin as expected has the Colossal. Him and Eren are inseparable but that will change FAST when they get to the island

Jean - Jean is the armored titan

Marco - Marco is the jaw titan but not for long Ymir eats him yes she's still here

Historia - Historia is the female titan and DOES NOT get sent to Paradis until 850 (and thats where she gets into a forbidden love situation w Ymir). also she has special scream/titan creation powers just like Zeke !!

Connie - Connie is the cart titan

Floch - Floch is the beast titan (he's a fox if you're wondering)

Sasha - Sasha will SUPPOSEDLY inherit the jaw titan

In a recent interview in new Bessatsu magazine, Isayama officially confirmed the disappearance of Ackerman's powers and said that Mikasa is now bad at the sport because of it. What do you think about this? I did see that, yes. So I guess all my theories about the Ackermans still retaining their powers were wrong, lol. I just always wondered if it was a possibility, because other than the power of connecting to the knowledge of past Ackermans, the Ackerman powers themselves really didn't resemble that of the titans, and there was also the fact that Ymir had no control over the Ackermans, so I thought it made sense that their powers didn't actually come from her. But I suppose with the dissolution of the Paths, the Ackermans lost their powers with that.

Anyway, I'm totally cool with it. I think it's actually a really interesting idea to think about, what it must be like for Levi and Mikasa to have to adjust to life without their physical strength and power that separated them from everyone else. I mean, that was already something Levi was going to have to adjust to, given he ends up disabled and needing a wheelchair. But I imagine it must be really hard, in a way, losing those extraordinary abilities they had, no longer able to do the things they once did, etc... I would think it must leave both of them with a sense of vulnerability that's pretty alien to them, that they wouldn't have felt since they were both young children, even, and that would be scary, I imagine. For Levi in particular, I think on top of the loss of his powers, he's probably also dealing with chronic pain and a simple loss of mobility, which makes it exponentially worse as well. So I think the adjustment is probably tough.

But I spoke about this when the anime ended last year, and with Levi especially, when we see him handing out candy to the children in the refugee camp, I think what that highlights is that it was never his Ackerman power that made him an extraordinary person, or that made him a hero. It was always his exceptional compassion and kindness that really defined him as such. The fact he's lost his powers, lost his mobility, lost the full use of his body, lost his strength, and yet he's still out there, doing all he can to help others, doing all he can to improve the lives of people and bring them whatever joy he can in a ruined world, that's what really defines Levi as a hero, in my eyes. He continues to fight for others, even when he no longer has physical strength, and that shows that he was always going to fight for others, whether strong or not, because that's just in him. That heroism, that compassion and that empathy is just a part of who he is. He sees and cares about other people, and that's what compelled him to use his exceptional strength toward helping them in the first place, not the strength itself. He doesn't need to be "special" in order to be a hero.

And the same for Mikasa, too. Mikasa learned over the course of the story to let go of her own, selfish dream of being with Eren and giving up what was most important to her to help others, and like with Levi, it's that which made her a hero, not her Ackerman powers.

While their badass-ness is maybe what initially drew people to their characters, it was never that which made them stay. Levi and Mikasa both are much more than their Ackerman powers. It's who they are as people that matters. So them losing them in the end really isn't a big deal at all.

annie survives because someone else sacrificed themselves for her and she’s guilty over it (obviously she’s the killer in the sequel they already had written before the first movie was even out)

zeke is the cop who tells everyone they’re overreacting and that everything is under control and then his body like. falls off a roof or something in the next scene

levi shows up halfway through, has a few badass seconds, stabs the killer enough for him (the killer) to fake his death and levi gets away. like. bloodied and hot and whatever. and he survives

sasha and connie are the first ones dead

historia is the one who’s scared and cautious, ymir is the one who’s convinced everything is fake and overexaggerated. they die because they broke the virgin rule. historia is inexplicably wearing the castes cheerleader outfit the entire time

erwin outsmarts the killer but he gets shot by the hero (probably armin. hopefully armin.) trying to shoot at the killer and dies

bertholdt and reiner are the red herrings that are set up to look like the killers. probably like, taunting people about it. and then the killer shows up like “hey lol” and actually kills them at the end of the second act

hange survives out of pure dumb luck despite being shot and stabbed multiple times. like hange’s the one who played dead and shows up at the end to shoot the killer’s body one last time “just to make sure”

I WAS PISSED OFF ON AN AOT TWITTER TAKE AND I STARTED RAGE RAMBLING LOL

I disrespect this opinion and throw it into the most stinky, wet trash can I could find.

STOP SAYING HANGE COMMITTED SUICIDE. OMG what they did wasn't suicide. They fought until their very last breath to give their team enough time. They tried to stay alive as long as they can and FIGHT, even when burning alive. They died a martyr. I know in the end, it's just wording but it still irks me to see people say this about Hange's last stand! Also, Hange is non-binary. Use they/them for the character even though I know in the anime, from what I could remember, they were considered a woman (?) I am not sure tho. It's been a while.

Levi's presence in the rumbling arc was unnecessary??? Did we watch the same episodes?? Read the same story?? Some people think the only way a character contributes to the battlefield is by fighting and fighting alone. Mind you, Levi kept the whole team going with his quick wits, presence of mind, and rapid and firm decision making. He kept the team alive. He basically became the "commander" of SC for the battle of heaven and earth. And mind you, HE DID DO THE BATTLING TOO DESPITE BEING HALF DEAD AND LOOKING LIKE A SMASHED PUMPKIN (a cute pumpkin tho).

We see a whole different side of Levi who isn't just a war machine. We saw how he used his mind on the field to still be a huge threat to the enemy. Erwin didn't go crazy after him just because he is only the muscle. Levi is a whole package. And yes, he isn't the ✨ main character ✨ and that's because he IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE. That's what the og trio is there for. AoT is mostly the story of Eren, Armin and Mikasa. Levi is a side character who could have been a generic badass edgy cool anime character. But he became so much more, while still staying relevant to the larger narratives without hogging the limelight from the main characters. He has really good writing behind him. And that remained consistent imo. Yes. Even during the rumbling arc. He was basically maimed and injured, looking like a pretty Frankenstein monster twink ass and they kept how being a pretty Frankenstein monster twink ass hindered his physical ability. And he compensated for that through his leadership skills.

Like, come on, I get disliking Levi (even though I will question your taste). But saying his entire presence was useless...ummm I would have to disagree with you. With full offense.

FMAB / AoT Comparisons and Contrasts

I was holding off on making this post because I didn’t have enough evidence to compare EVERY aspect from both franchises, but I feel like I have enough evidence to at least explore the similarities between a majority of the main characters and a couple locations. That said, I reserve the right to make a second part to this post if I feel like it.

Because I am an avid, hardcore fan of both Attack on Titan and Fullmetal Alchemist, I began to look compare and contrast characters from both series and oh my goodness the similarities are uncanny- like, y’all, I’m so convinced Isayama took inspiration from FMA, I’d be shocked if he didn’t.

Before I get into anything, I should point out that someone has made a couple of these observations already in a Reddit post, but I’m just adding onto these findings. Link to the OG post is below.

SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY AHEAD FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT FINISHED EITHER SHOW!!

Alright, so to start off in terms of characters, we’ve got Edward Elric and Eren Jaeger.

They’re both hot-tempered kids who lose their moms and see her suffer in horrific ways.

Their dads also technically walked out on them early on in their lives.

They also lose body parts but get them back at some point.

The deaths of their mothers trigger their character arcs, starting with how? Enlisting in the military.

Then there’s Winry Rockbell and Mikasa Ackerman:

Childhood friends/love interests whose parents died at a young age.

They care deeply about the protagonists.

They’re also terrifying when angry.

Alphonse Elric and Armin Arlert:

The blonde, smart, sensible characters who are almost always by the protagonists’ side.

Got an absolute GLOW-UP as they got older.

Trisha Elric and Carla Jaeger:

Mothers to the protagonists who have the signature “dead anime mom” hairstyle.

Died while the protagonists were young.

Their deaths prompted their sons’ character arcs. (If not the entirety of both series.)

Unaware of their husbands’ past.

Van Hohenheim and Grisha Jaeger:

Fathers to the protagonists who walk out on their families at an early age.

Both wear glasses and have somewhat? long hair.

Both were either directly or indirectly responsible for murder at some point.

Under the heel of a higher power too. (Grisha with Marley and Hohenheim with Xerxes.)

Jean Havoc and Jean Kirstein:

These are literally the same characters, just different shows.

Same first name, same haircut, same mannerisms, SAME ENGLISH VA-

Also kinda got a glow up as they got older.

Once again, if I had a nickel for every time Mike McFarland voiced a character named Jean with an undercut and playboy tendencies, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice, right??

Roy Mustang and Levi Ackerman:

The cool, collected and unbelievably badass heartthrobs with black hair and high military ranks.

Also terrifying when pissed off.

Riza Hawkeye and Hange Zoe:

The second in command that’s usually by their superior’s side.

Also unbelievably badass.

People may or may not ship them with their superior.

Erwin Smith and King Bradley:

I honestly could not find much similarities between these two except for the fact that they’re both leaders of their military division?

And they both die in the end I guess.

Maes Hughes and Marco Bodt:

The kind, gentle hearted ally of the protagonists who find out the truth about their enemies before anyone else and dies because of it.

Lust and Annie Leonhart:

Female antagonists that get dealt with early on in their series.

Capable of regeneration of their body.

Brings harm to the protagonist’s ally at one point. (Lust with Hughes and Annie with Marco.)

Gluttony and Bertholdt Hoover:

Male antagonists who are usually around or involved with their female partner one way or another (Bertholdt with Annie / Gluttony with Lust).

Care for their female partner a lot.

Both are killed by being eaten by someone (Bertholdt is eaten by Armin / Gluttony is eaten by Pride), but not before desperately crying out for their female partner (Bertholdt cries out for Annie / Gluttony cries out for Lust).

Scar and Reiner Braun:

Scorned men and enemies of the protagonist who eventually come after them to get revenge for their homeland(?).

Turn around and become good(?) in the end, fighting alongside the protagonists’ allies against a common but VERY different enemy (Reiner with Eren / Scar with Father).

Truth and Ymir Fritz:

Beings from another realm that interact with the protagonist one way or another.

Aid the protagonist realize their full potential, for better (Edward) and for worse (Eren).

Homunculi and Titan Shifters:

Mysterious beings with regenerative properties and unique powers.

Their powers can be transferred to new users if the previous users dies(?) (Ex. Greed with Ling / Eating a Titan Shifter as a pure Titan).

I swear I am not crazy, I just have an unhealthy obsession with both of these shows. Making a part two shortly.

Lights out Broken Boy ErenxReader

After pacing back and forth in your room. You open the door seeing Sasha Already grabbing snacks to take to the living room. Armin leans against the wall laughing, watching her. 

" Hey you guys." You sigh coming out your room. Jean and Mikasa waved already on the couch rolling up as Armin makes his way over.

" I don't get why they cancelled class if the storm wasn't till later." Armin questioned taking a first hit.  " Do we really care." Jean and Mikasa chuckle at each other. " I guess." Armin mumbles passing the blunt to Mikasa. You make your way to the living room area, siting on the floor next to Jean. Eren comes out his room, clothes changed and hair now up as he sits against the couch in-between Mikasa's legs. Mikasa passes the blunt to Armin and he passes it to you. You take a deep hit causing you to cough. Everyone chuckles as Jean pats your back.

" Calm down." He laughs Connie and Sasha finally make their way to the living room. The set up which was now. Armin and Mikasa on the long couch. Eren on the floor in front of Mikasa his back against the lower half of the couch. Jean and Connie on the shorter couch. You on the floor  next to Jean, and Sasha sitting on Connie's lap. You pass the blunt to Connie. Hearing  Mikasa and Eren giggling. You watch as he grabs her hands forcing them on his head. She looks down at him smiling massaging his head. You blush at the sight of Mikasa's face lighting up.

" We should play uno!" Sasha blurts out. She hops off Connie and heads towards Eren's room. dropping crumbs as she goes.

" Idiot don't just go through my stuff!" Eren yells, his eyes still closed and face relaxed from Mikasa's massage. Sasha comes back slamming the deck of cards on the coffee table in front of you all.

" Who's shuffling?" you ask looking at everyone. Armin grabs the stack without saying a word and starts to shuffle.

" Alright !"Sasha smiles rubbing her hand together hopping back on Connie as he passes the blunt to Jean.  Only you ,Sasha, Armin and jean participate.  Eren was enjoying his massage and Mikasa was okay with watching. You look at your cards in disappointment. I'm so losing this, you sigh to yourself. As the game goes on Connie and Sasha laughs, arguing with each other about who had the better deck. You and Armin giggle looking at each other squinting to see what moves were being made. When the lights shut completely off.

" Damn it !" Sasha shouts. It became dark and hard to see,  you all pull out your phones shining the lights on each other. Eren walks to the front door. The building hallway surfaced with noise and students coming out their rooms.

" Yeah the whole buildings out." He announces. He walks to the kitchen drawer and pulls out matches. He starts to light scented candles around the dorm. The rooms became consumed with the same scented lotion smell you buy. He likes that smell too, you thought.

" Oh wow good thing we came here." Connie expressed. Sasha responses "hmm" munching on more food. Armin looks out the window waving you all to follow. The entire campus was pitch black. You all take your seats back as you were around the table, the room now bright enough too see each other. Jean passes the blunt to Eren.

Eren passes it laying his head back on Mikasa thighs and blowing smoke into the air. Watching everyone smoke so easily made you feel like a rookie.

" Am I smoking wrong. This shit hurts when I do it. Yall make it look easy!" You burst out saying. Everyone starts to laugh

" Girl you just smoke it!" Sasha announces.

" It shouldn't burn" Armin says asking for the blunt." Let me help you." He takes the blunt and pulls. He then hands it to Jean waving his hand motioning you to come closer. You wobble on your knees inching to him on the floor. He taps his lips wanting you to open your mouth. Inches from each other's mouth, he blows into yours his hand slightly on your cheek. He backs away casing you both to laugh in a daze holding your waist keeping you a float.

" Fucking nice!" Jean laughs.

" Even I'm turned on right now." Connie says as he chuckles. 

" Did that burn?" He ask. You look up at him your face red and eyes slightly watered.

" Not at all" You respond.  Eren gets up without saying a word.

" Eren?" Mikasa mumbles. He grabs his jacket from across one of the stools in the kitchen and leaves the dorm.

" Where's he going?' Jean ask turning on the Tv.

" I don't know" Mikasa says taking a deep breath before grabbing her phone.

" Should we go after him?" Armin ask looking at everyone. You didn't know why but he seemed mad. 

" Was it just me or did he seem angry?" You ask looking down at your legs. Collecting your thoughts. It was like switch flipped with him.

" I thought so too" Mikasa responds texting him you assume.

" He'll be okay" Sasha brushes off smoking the last of the blunt. After some time Jean found a movie. You were now sitting on the long couch legs across Armin's lap and Mikasa at the very end looking at the front door.

" It's okay. He'll be back." You assure her. She smiles not saying anything. Mid movie you start to feel tired and sluggish, the weed finally getting to you. Before you knew it you had fallen asleep. Waking up at 3am to everyone still laid out on the couch sleeping. Armin's head on your side. You giggle slowly pushing him off you and onto a pillow on the couch then getting to your feet. Making your way to your room Historia and Eren walk out of his. She looks at you and waves, wearing one of his oversized shirts. 

" Hey Y/N" She whispers smiling while pulling her shirt down to her knees with one hand.

You look at him. Trying to show your presence. He acts like he doesn't see you even though you know he could, but you were to tired to care and continued to your room. That boy is seriously bi-polar . You thought, before slamming on your bed. The next morning Armin woke you before leaving.

I didn't connect the dots before, but now it makes further sense with how they use her character, too. It is stated multiple times in the series by Mobius, and in general they kept highlighting the fact that she's a female counterpart. I shouldn't be surprised, but I always am in the end 😔

And another point you made — for Ragnarok, I saw your rb and. Man. When I tell you my jaw DROPPED at that scene — like ... It's awful. I hope that we won't have that one day, even if that feels far away. None of you deserve this. Putting such lines is very harmful, because (other than the fact that it's just straight up disrespectful, racist and ignorant) while the film itself is fictional, it still has influence in real life and people could take that and think it would be fine, to belittle and mock others. I've learned about your culture and am still learning, and with everything that has transpired, things like this make everything worse. It's so widespread, too, the misinformation. In all honesty, I’m not too sure about the shape-shifting thing. But… I assume her being able to shape-shift as well as the enchanting stuff would’ve made her too “OP” (not that they really care about that) and not “distinctive” enough from Loki lol. As for her being strictly female and not fluid… man, I don’t know. I guess they wanted to focus on female rep (which they’re not really good at either) instead. They already see Loki as male, so they treated both of them as only being female/male with the ‘Sex:Fluid’ thing being an afterthought to “please” fans. Basically:

Female counterpart… the writing and handling of Sylvie being female felt misogynistic to me. Okay so Loki cannot call her out on her own flaws (because how dare a female character have flaws), but also she’s automatically stronger and is so “badass”, but also she has no depth and there was little thought put into her backstory. I can straight up say that as a female that I do not want to see robotic female characters with absolutely no depth, and no flaws! Instead of them correcting the misogynistic mistakes they’ve made in the past with making a strong female character, they make her robot like because I guess that’s easier than giving a female character depth.

I feel like a good example of a well written female character is Mikasa from Attack on Titan. She is strong, but also has depth. She loves Eren, but has a personality and motives outside of that. She has weaknesses, and is not immune to struggling. She’s one of my favorite female characters, and I think more should be written like her. Anime/Manga are notoriously BAD at handling female characters, but in Attack on Titan (though there are still flaws of course), they feel real. They aren’t just there for fan service, or just to shut up female audiences with no actual care put into any part of it.

I really do appreciate you taking the time to learn about my people, and our culture. Thank you for seeing us for who we are, outside of all the hatred. It truly does mean a lot, as I’ve been discriminated against throughout my life.

I also want to point out that the joke isn’t JUST beyond disrespectful to my OWN culture, but it is disrespectful to any other culture that’s cultural clothing includes headscarves. So many people who proudly wear their headscarves (and any other cultural clothing for that matter) are targeted in hate crimes and It’s just really gross to me that they chose to mock them. It fuels hatred and ignorance. It alienates people.

A lot of people when talking about anti Roma racism mainly talk about the G word (Gypsy), but there are more important things to me than that. Like the fact that Roma children are ethnically targeted in hate crimes by non Roma ADULTS and AUTHORITY FIGURES throughout Europe, but primarily in the Balkans where a lot of us reside/have ties to.

Politicians openly spew hatred against us, with little to no repercussions. They want my people to assimilate, but when they attempt to, they are mocked and just overall treated like garbage. There’s no winning. They want them to strip themselves of our culture. Of our traditions.

I will not get into it on here a whole lot as it is absolutely vile, but my people were targeted during the Holocaust and experimented on in horrific ways. How were they targeted? Nazi scientists studied our features, and how we dressed.

That’s why jokes about how we look or how we present ourselves really are not funny. It reflects real life.

I believe I said this in so many words on the OG post, but the weirdest part to me of all of it is how little sense it makes for Bruce to make that joke to Thor. Like it was just Mark Ruffalo going out of his way to be hateful towards us once again. Thor doesn’t pay much mind to the joke if you watch the scene.

It’s funny because Thor (after his banishment), has almost always been respectful towards other groups of people from what I can remember at the top of my head.

He was respectful towards humans when he was casted out to Midgard, and he CLEARLY tolerates them to a certain extent if he’s willingly in a relationship with one, as well as willingly associate with them (The Avengers.)

Thor is supposed to be open minded for an Asgardian, so.. this really was just Mark Ruffalo and his racism again. And I know he portrays himself as being aware of and deeply caring about social issues, but I guess that awareness and care excludes Roma. That’s what makes it worse. What also makes it worse is the MCU’s history of racism against us. A lot of people have talked about this on here, but the white washing of MCU Wanda/Pietro. As well as Joss Whedon’s racism towards us.

anywaysss manga jean >>> anime jean

dont get me wrong he is still one of my best bois. finally caught up to the anime and was lowkey upset that a lot of good jean dialogues/reactions/little things were shafted, cut out or moved to other characters. (mostly s1-s3 stuff.) some rambling of mine on parts that they change that i dislike.

one small thing that they changed it up for anime was his motivations for joining the mp. sure we all know that his purpose was to live what little time he has left comfortably in the interior. but he also emphasize on being sick living in the frontline towns that is prone to titan attacks which is pretty normal and valid reason to want to escape to the inner walls imo. animes only sees jean as a spoiled brat bc eren says he is but manga jean is not?? also his face calling out marco in manga is just * chef kiss *

2. this one bugged me A LOT. i think they move this whole dialogue to a another character. ( i cant rmbr) basically jean aint dumb. he went on to school eren on the 'reclaim wall maria operation' aka the culling when eren chastised him for his 'selfish' reasons for wanting to join the MP. here we we have the classic pessimist, defeatist jean kirstein. (also lowkey baby anarchist)

3. his jealousy towards eren isnt really purely from his crush on mikasa but more of eren dragging mikasa and armin into 'an early grave'

5. jean eventually stopped slacking off but likely to get back on eren (love his level of pettiness)

6. after training everyone wants to be in marco's team with marco as a leader which prompts marco to tell jean he makes a much better leader than him. (i find it weird that they insert the dialogue in the trost arc itself. it gives little time for jean to digest the idea of him being a leader whereas it makes more sense here in the manga, pacing wise)

7. his motivations to join the scouts. its not just eren or marco words that inspired him into joining. NO. trost arc made him realized he does care about his comrades. his decision to joining the scouts includes him wanting to not have to worry about his other comrades dying. (i feel that this doesnt translate well in the anime ugh) if u noticed, connie and sasha's fear was 'to be eaten by titans' for jean its 'watching his comrades be eaten by titans' its not about him saving humanity or be a leader. he just doesnt want his friends to die.

8. strategist jean!!!! (i know this is included in the anime but i like the manga ver more. it feels like he has more confidence and authority here) and reiner's thoughts on jean's change.

9. after the entire military rescued eren from reiner & bert, suffering huge losses, jean gave eren a reality check. (i think this part was shorten greatly and moved to another scene in the anime) + the scene of the scouts noting how jean has changed was removed completely.

10. when jean managed to bring marlowe and hitch to help them. levi says GOOD JOB JEAN.

& the whole scene was changed from the MP compound to the MP checkpoint where jsc busted through with a cart. manga was pretty badass in that we were shown how levi squad arent children anymore, having the need to wound the mps to reach their goals. (plus jean and sasha busy being baddies on the roof sniping and shooting arrows at the mps ??? )

11. I CANT FORGIVE YOU REINER line. it make no sense in the anime for them to remove this because annie's 'what about me' makes no sense without that line!!! also makes their conversation on the flying boat and titanic scene more impactful later on.

12. jeans & floch relationship!!!! please please trust me when i say floch makes one of the best jean relationship & interaction because how they are each others foil and weakness. the anime straight up made jean a floch hater and floch that one weirdo who cant take a hint. their relationship is so subtle and nuanced in the mange. PLUS jean straight up tries to stop floch from bleeding to death, something the anime cut out bc they dont want to show someone cared about floch!!! also trying to stop someone from dying even tho its 100% happening?? not a very jean like reaction me thinks (ooooh). and the manga panel focusing on flochs dying words with jeans stressed expression is so so good

ok anyways these are just some of the things i can think of reagarding to jean at least. there are also other parts of the story that i was upset that they didnt include. i know anime runs on strict time limitations but *grumble* *grumble*

other things that im upset about: eren kruger adaptation in anime was meh. warriors training era was cut out. RBA spying days was cut out too which is a big L IMO. also facial expressions in the manga were so much more impactful than the anime version like how??????? and manga is jean is top tier hot. i hate what mappa did with him.

Mikasa Motherf'ing Ackerman...

What do you say about a character who is one of the most iconic in anime, but for all of the wrong reasons? About a character who is absolutely fascinating on a surface level and a certified badass....but woefully lacking in depth and motivation or even in human interaction with anyone beyond one or two characters? 

I know a lot of people are going to disagree with me, but Mikasa Ackerman is in my opinion one of Attack on Titan’s weakest characters, and as its main female protagonist her shortcomings as a character only become more glaring as time passes. A character who after twelve years of story gradually became little more than a romantic attachment for Eren Yeager, and could not get herself away from his circle for any substantial amount of time. Much has been hinted about her relationships with the rest of the 104th, and much had been brought up about her ancestry and her ties to the Azumabito clan and Hizuru. And as most must realize, very little of any of this came to any avail. Her interactions are frustratingly limited, and so little has been elaborated on in regards to her profoundly important role as an Ackerman that it loses credibility the longer it fails to deliver on all that had been alluded to over the course of the final act.

And of course, no clarification on her relationship with Levi. But that’s peanuts compared to all else, so I digress.

What’s really sad is that Mikasa is probably the character who made Trina Nisihmura a household name, even though she’s had countless roles elsewhere, big and small. Mikasa is by far her most recognizable role, but I don’t think it’s unfair to say Mikasa may be one of her weakest characters. This of course is none of her own fault, her performance is rock solid. But her talents are wasted on someone who refuses to emerge from their shell in the story. 

For a manga and anime that prided itself on strong female characters, there’s actually a lot of evidence to show that no, this is wildly overstated and I think we’ve all seen how Isayama has treated his main girls since the ocean scene. Mikasa unfortunately is not an exception to the trend even with her almost unmatched combat prowess. 

I don’t like to hate on Mikasa, she was the one who first caught my attention when I stumbled upon Attack on Titan. She was my initial favorite and I REALLY want to love this character. But it’s hard for me to even like her because she just fell into the same tired pitfall so many supposedly strong female leads have in so many stories. It’s frustrating that I can’t genuinely enjoy Mikasa because she’s really got nothing to offer outside of her fight scenes. And you all know my feelings on Eremika. So no, that doesn’t help me to connect with her. 

There’s the characters I hate. And then there’s the characters I don’t want to hate. I definitely will have more to say on Mikasa later but I just really needed to air out my bitter disappointment in her. The story sure loves to boast of Mikasa, but none of it is earned. Isayama, par for the course, fails to deliver on the weight of her still very mysterious and unique position in the story between Eren and the Titans. Again, I cannot reiterate my belief that Sasha Braus easily could’ve been a stronger main heroine than Mikasa wound up being. Or Historia and Ymir, or even Petra, easily, just to name a few. And there’s others I’d say should’ve been given that chance too since what we have now with Mikasa Ackerman just doesn’t work. And it’s a huge shame. 

Mikasa Deserves Better. Call that a hint of more to follow. In time, of course.

there’s this specific group of eruri shippers on twitter that i had to mute/block bc of their takes on levi’s character, especially now with the final episode releasing. as another anon previously said, some of them are trying so hard to prove levi only cared about erwin and erwin only (stating, for example, that levi never cared that annie killed his squad bc he let her join them in the final battle (same with gabi), meanwhile he’s sooo angry with zeke purely because he killed his ‘love’), it’s like they don’t want to understand his character at all😭 or as if levi being compassionate and caring towards other people will ruin/threatens their ‘canon’ ship. even levi’s conclusion is being criticized by some, because how dare he give children candies when he should be mourning erwin like mikasa is mourning eren, or he should do x thing because erwin would’ve liked it, like…. let that man be his own person. i’m sorry if this is repetitive, because i know you get asked quite a lot about these things specifically😭 i enjoy your content a lot and the way you analyze levi’s complexity as a character

Jesus, that's... lame as hell, lol. Levi shouldn't get to be happy because he should spend the rest of his life pining after Erwin? Really? lol. I'm sorry, that's actually kind of funny, it's so pathetic. What's wrong with these people? They're angry because the canonical ending is directly contradicting their fantasy about Levi and Erwin. If Levi isn't paralyzed by his grief for his "lover" then it's the wrong ending for him, lol. I swear, you can't make this shit up.

I've gone over the stupidity of people criticizing Levi for not being angry at Annie, or not protesting Annie working with them. The world was on the verge of being destroyed, all of humanity wiped out, and yet Levi's supposed to be petty enough to complain about Annie lending them a hand in a desperate fight because she killed his squad? It just shows these people don't understand AT ALL who Levi is, or what he was fighting for. The same thing applies to their claims about Levi being "angry" at Zeke. They don't understand at all why Levi wanted to kill Zeke. They think it was for revenge, but it never was. It was to honor his fallen comrades by giving their deaths meaning. He promised to kill Zeke in return for them giving their lives. And they want Levi to also hate Gabi now too, I guess. That's cute. Yes, it would make Levi such a badass if he were to forever hold a grudge against a twelve year old little girl.

If these people took even a moment to listen to themselves and how they sound, they would realize what idiots they looked like to everyone else.
