isnt it sad that the best world in dream drop distance is the fucking grid. (only in sora’s side though..)
#robo ramble#like every other world is so nothing burger#in terms of doing anything unique or fun or interesting#kh2 is by no means a perfect game but i had a lot of fun in the disney worlds.#not every world or visit was a winner. sometimes i liked a second visit more than the first#mostly because the first visit was often times an awkward retread of the movie#i really like how the beauty and the beast world was handled. i hope when we visit the world in the future we’ll actually get to see gaston#but yeah compared to dream drop. one characters version of the world was often times a awkward as fuck retread of the movie#and the new stuff didnt really work. and GOOD LORD. does notre dame not fucking work for kingdom hearts.#just make quasimodo a summon.#if they wanted to follow the movies closely for worlds could you have at least done it better or have been more creative with it#also how the fuck did they manage to make pete incompetent in a movie where he is competent. nomura just has a vendetta against pete ig#he knocked out only mickey and left sora to deal with nightmares like. PUT HIM IN THE FUCKING DUNGEON TOO#this is when i was playing pride lands and i said YOU ARE A FUCKING LION JUST MAUL THEM TO DEATH#pete is way more intimidating than him being a toon would suggest!!#let toons be badass. let toons be intimidating. let toons be heartfelt. let toons be fucking characters .#ok so the grid. they did more interesting things with rinzler in dream drop than they did with him in his own fucking movie#having someone. ACTUALLY RECOGNIZE tron is insane. and much fucking needed.#ok so for riku he goes on a lightcycle and then watches the movie happen. wtf .#sora gets to do so much and riku gets to do nothing. hey what if sora and riku werent arbitrarily separated for no reason yeah what if…#what if sora got to tell riku about his initial adventures with tron and then come to the realization that things have somehow gotten worse#they thought they freed the system but it turns out that was a copy. even though tron told sora himself. it didn’t occur to him that the#dream world they ended up in was the real one. where things happened a lot differently.#so anyway.. doyou wanna hear about my(GETS SHOT)

Things that really get my gears turning with regards to Xehanort visiting La Cite des Cloches pre-DDD:
Xehanort visiting it directly after the MoM's speech to him about "false light" and misguided love, and this causing him to finally grapple with his conflicted feelings towards Player. Specifically when observing what Frollo has been doing to Quasi all his life (aka imprisoning him away from others with claims of "it's for your own protection.") Maybe it's after visiting this world that Xehanort starts to refer to his childhood home as a "prison". <- Also could tie into YMX telling Sora his heart is a prison in DDD. Like I know it was Sora or someone else who said the line first but when YMX repeats it back to Sora I gotta imagine he's also thinking about his own relationship to "prisons".
The dramatic irony of Xehanort looking at Frollo and not realizing that he himself is going to become a Frollo later in life. "Judge Claude Frollo longed to purge the world of vice and sin / And he saw corruption everywhere except within."
Also my god the Frollo + Quasi, Master Xehanort + Vanitas parallels. "Even this foul creature may yet prove one day to be / Of use to me."
I'm also thinking about how Frollo was the one to name Quasimodo and his name means "half-formed". Xehanort's name can be an anagram of X and "no heart". And also there's Xehanort giving Vanitas his name, which is a word associated with death and futility. Just a bunch of characters being given demeaning names lol.
Going back to the "false light" stuff, I feel like Frollo is one of the best examples of that among the Disney villains. As Xehanort says to the MoM after his world tour: "They believe themselves to be moral and virtuous, but it's all an act." So if you needed Xehanort to see "false light" in action, this world is just perfect for that.
Please. Imagine. One-on-one Xehanort vs. Frollo boss fight (Frollo can wield the sword from the end of the movie). And then maybe in the second phase Frollo summons a Heartless minion to fight alongside him like the Clayton + Stealth Sneak boss in KH1 (depending on if the Emblem Heartless are still inexplicably around after KHDR, I guess. If not, we can just have the first phase and nothing else). Xehanort is like "Look, okay, yes, maybe I am partially beating you up as a means of venting some of the complicated feelings I have towards my guardian, but also you in particular just suck, you're a danger to everyone around you, and I want you gone from this world forever." And then this marks the second time that Xehanort has just straight up murdered a guy who also happens to represent what he'll become later in life (he is, unfortunately, starting to grow numb to the sensation).
Honestly, realistically, it would probably make more sense for Xehanort not to interfere with the worlds at all, but...I just really want more one-on-one Disney villain boss fights in these games.
Like, seriously, in a theoretical KHDR sequel, this world would probably be my #1 pick just because there's so many layers to its relevancy.

Essential Avengers: Avengers #253: CONQUERING VISION
March, 1985
The Vision vs. Quasimodo... in the heart of a machine!
ITS A ROBOT RUMBLE
ON THE INTERNET!
The Avengers seem very perturbed. Or maybe they’ve placed bets and are yelling at each other.
Anyway. Anyyyyyywayyyy.
Last time on Avengers: Vision became confined to a tube and was only fixed when Starfox hooked him up to Titan’s supercomputer ISAAC. While it helped Vision fix himself, it also seems to have changed his personality. Vision began conspiring with ISAAC to build a take-over-the-world-for-its-own-good device so he could take over the world for its own good and erase the evils and inequalities of man.
Vision was hesitant to pull the trigger on becoming a well-intentioned extremist and tried to gain power and influence by becoming the Avengers chairman and trying to make them more prominent with a branch team and closer ties to the White House.
But when anti-mutant arsonists burn down Vision and Scarlet Witch’s house during a new wave of anti-mutant fear, Vision decides ‘mmm yup, taking over the world time’. He distracts the Avengers by sending them to babysit the army as they poke Thanos technology that they shouldn’t poke and accidentally summon the Blood Brothers. And distracts Captain Marvel to go check out Thanos’ ship several light hours away past Pluto. Black Knight shows up unexpectedly but Vision shoves him into a tube to keep him out of trouble.
And now I guess Vision is going to fight Quasimodo the robot guy? Not sure how that fits in.
But first, some West Coast Avengers!
Like I said last time, they didn’t stop doing stuff just because their book is over.
Mockingbird happens to run into some drug runners while getting in some flight practice and figures heck why not beat up an entire boat full of gun-toting people as a light workout.
I guess the Quinjet can hover? Doesn’t seem to have thrusters or repulsors on the bottom or be a VTOL but hey, super advanced possibly Wakanda tech. It can do what it likes.
Mockingbird turns the drug runners over to the Coast Guard and returns to Palos Verdes and even gets to fly into one of those cool cliffside hangers disguised as a perfectly normal cliff. The West Coast Avengers revamped the hell out of the compound they bought.
Can you even legally excavate into a cliff like that? You can if you’re a superhero, I guess.
For some reason, there’s a fakeout where its implied Tigra is licking herself, cat style, but she’s just stretching. At least I hope the joke is that it sounded like she was cat cleaning herself and not something else.
One can never tell.
Anyway, I assume Hawkeye is just annoyed that he’s going to be vacuuming hair out of expensive equipment banks later. But really its that what if he threw a meeting and only he and Tigra came?
Mockingbird comes in not long after Hawkeye complains, slightly delayed from beating up drug runners. Wonder Man comes in shortly after, delayed by
FASHION
You know, this is a pretty great costume for Wonder Man. Its what all his modern outfits are based on when he’s not just dicks out energy man. I think I like the red jacket outfit more because being the only guy who dresses in ‘normal’ clothes while still looking somehow out of fashion with normal people fits for Wonder Man.
But I do love this one too. Its got a simple charm. Deciding that Wonder Man’s colors are black and red instead of Christmas green and red was a great decision and I’m sure that nobody will ever try to put him in red and green again.
Hawkeye grouses “Next, I suppose Iron Man will show up with a new chrome job!” but Iron Man is Sir Not Appearing in This Comic.
And the reason why is... looks like Tony and Rhodey are beating the crap out of each other in Iron Men armor this same month in Iron Man #192.
I don’t know the details but dammit Tony!
Anyway, over at last issue’s plot, the Avengers are still in Thanos’ ex-secret base in Arizona, still rolling their eyes and smh at the US Army for poking things what should not be poked.
Starfox and Scarlet Witch find a chamber blocked by rubble which has a symbio-nullifier which Starfox proposes to use to symbio-nullify the Blood Brothers.
First, he flexes on the US Army.
Army Guy: “It must weigh tons!”
Starfox: “Tons? Yes. But only about eight-and-a-half! Hardly any bother at all!”
Good flexing, Starfox.
Meanwhile, Captain America’s scolding has born fruit. The Pentagon has agreed to seal Thanos’ base, pending further investigation. And Colonel Farnam agrees because his training never prepared him to deal with MONSTERS FROM OUTER SPACE.
Also meanwhile, the army took pity on Hercules’ poor pantsless state and slash or were intimidated by it and have lent him a uniform.
He wears it as you’d expect Hercules to wear it.
With plenty of plunging neckline.
Since the Blood Brothers have a psionic link which makes them stronger the closer they are, Hercules has chained them up on very distant parts of the base.
But this precaution is rendered moot pretty quickly when Starfox returns with the symbio-nullifier to symbio-nullify the Blood Brothers.
Starfox suspected that Thanos had one of these lying around as a precaution if he was going to let the Blood Brothers into his base.
Hercules lightly complains that he didn’t get a good fight with the Blood Brothers especially since the hordes of Muspell and Maelstrom’s wacky minions were interesting but not all that much of a challenge for the prince of power.
Back at the Avengers Mansion, the giant holographic head of Vision is still dealing with Dane Black Knight Whitman. Mostly by showing him video footage of how the other Avengers are tied up.
Dane is confused for multiple reasons, including that when last he heard Wasp was the leader.
Vision: “My failure to anticipate your arrival was an unfortunate lapse. I regret that, as a result, you must suffer the indignity of incarceration.”
Dane: “But... why?! What does keeping me in a tube accomplish?”
Vision: “It prevents you from interfering! You see, I have come to the conclusion that the only way I can fulfill my duty to make the Earth a safer place... is to run it myself!”
Dane: “What?!? But that’s crazy! Uh... I mean, you can’t possibly...”
Vision: “Exactly the sort of reaction I expected!”
Vision: ‘See, this is why you’re a tube boy now.’
Vision turns off the hologram saying that Dane will understand when its all over.
As usual when somebody says something like that, Dane isn’t reassured, just more convinced he needs to break out and warn someone.
I’m not sure if its not already too late since Vision is safely ensconced in his take over the world chair in his secret take over the world room.
ISAAC’s head hologram shows up to Vision and asks him what the delay is, chop chop get to taking over the world for its own good.
Vision: “Sorry, ISAAC... I was just remembering how much I enjoyed having a body.”
Oh my god.
ISAAC: “What’s the sense of that? This entire world will soon be your ‘body’! How can the mobility of a single humanoid form compare to that?”
Vision: “I wouldn’t expect you to understand, ISAAC. It’s odd, though, so many times others have controlled my body... the robot Ultron, the Mad Thinker, Necrodamus... All have tried to subvert my mind and take me over. And now here am I... about to initiate the greatest takeover of all. One would almost think there were some mad connection -- !”
ISAAC: “Vision! You must not tarry!”
.................. Um, okay. So, rather than just being influenced by his brush with death and also brush with supercomputer, I think Vision is being actively manipulated into this by ISAAC.
I don’t know why but I do know that Vision continues being a viable character for decades so he probably can’t be burning all his bridges here.
Anyway, Vision uploads his psyche into the internet.
And like immediately starts taking over everything. One page montage immediately. The Pentagon, Cheyenne Mountain, SHIELD, satellites, the Kremlin.
Presumably the best security systems in the world barely warrant a mention for Vision’s mighty synthezoid brain.
He’s pulling a Skynet (for the world’s own good, so he says) and its barely an effort.
The scenery of being on the internet is, I dunno, pretty standard? Bright colors and dashes of light? I feel like I’ve seen it a lot of places.
But if we’re on page 13 of a book and Vision is effortlessly Skynetting, whats the rest of the issue going to be about? Interestingly, to me anyway, despite this being Vision’s turn villainous or well-intentioned extremist, another villain gets shoved in anyway for him to fight.
As Vision is nyooming around the Kremlin’s computers, he nearly runs into another AI, Quasimodo.
Helpfully, we get a recap of Quasimodo’s ENTIRE LIFE STORY because this is pre-fan wikis and I don’t think Quasimodo has appeared in Avengers before.
He was created to be the ultimate computer by the Mad Thinker but was abandoned when he developed a mind of his own.
Quasimodo was found by the Silver Surfer who used the cosmic powers of the Power Cosmic to transform Quasimodo from a computer into a robot.
Turning to the wiki for more information: He turns on Silver Surfer because he doesn’t like the body he got, so Surfer turns him into a stone gargoyle. Let that be a lesson about ingratitude.
Somehow, he stopped being a gargoyle and fought various people until he was defeated by the Fantastic Four and the Sphinx and wound up a disembodied intelligence in a Russian computer system. And here we are!
Quasimodo begs Vision to help him escape this digital hellhole but Vision just turns and leaves because he doesn’t have time for these shenanigans. And also because he knows Quasimodo is a villain who tends to turn on the people who help him so fuck that.
Quasimodo: “You know of my past - of my power - and you still would dare deny me?! There can be but one name for such as you... and that is fool!”
He then hauls off and punches Vision. Because they’re both digital intelligences on the internet they can punch each other and have a fight scene. That’s how internet works.
That’s why Mega Man X can beat up so many people in cyberspace.
Quasimodo says if Vision doesn’t help him get back to the physical world, he’ll destroy him.
Vision: “Now, listen to me... I am consolidating all computers worldwide. I gave up my own physical body to do this, and I’ll not tolerate any interference from the likes of you!”
Quasimodo: “You willingly abandoned your body?! You’re not a fool... you’re mad!”
Faced with an irreconcilable set of priorities, Quasimodo trips them both into “the irresistible currents of the IMPULSE VORTEX!”
Sure. That sounds like how internet works.
Meanwhile, over at Pluto is very far away, Monica Marvel nyooms past the moons of Uranus. Apparently her visual acuity is REALLY good because she takes in the scenery while she’s nyooming and finds it frighteningly beautiful out in the outer planets.
Anyway, Vision scolds Quasimodo for plunging them into a torrent. Which makes me laugh. Surely its too soon for torrents to be a thing. He’s just using it in a metaphorical sense.
Quasimodo tries to shoot EYE BEAM at Vision, which misses the digital synthezoid but obliterates an electron.
In a cutaway that would be at home in a Marvel movie, the scene briefly shifts to a Soviet computing center and a guy named Alexey complaining that his program just crashed.
Quasimodo does Vision some punches but Vision decides to start trying since Quasimodo’s attacks risk alerting people that something is amiss on the internet. And Vision’s powers work just as well on the internet as Quasimodo’s do. In fact, screw that, they work better! Vision just gets more and more powerful the longer he spends on the internet!
Vision: “You might have slain me earlier, but now this world is mine -- and there is no place in it for you!!”
And at Vision’s command the internet launches Quasimodo from Earth itself.
The internet can do that.
Meanwhile, back at Avenger’s Mansion, Dane Whitman determines that the tube he’s a tube boy in may look like glass but its as strong as steel. He’s not punching his way out of here.
But his recently uncursed cursed sword (the curse never stays not cursed for long so I hope Dane enjoys having a notcursed but very enchanted sword) is just a few feet away with the rest of his luggage. And there’s a mystic bond between himself and the sword so if he just thinks about the sword hard enough, surely it’ll manifest in his hand.
Like the Force but slightly more convenient.
Dane Whitman: Nothing’s happening. Must not... be concentrating hard enough! Maybe the link was broken with the curse. No... no, I mustn’t even think that! I need my sword! I must have my sword! I must!
He do it!
The Notcursed Ebony Sword appears in his hand and he slices through that steel glass like its just glass.
Meanwhile, over at Arizona, the Avengers finish up nullifying the Blood Brothers and putting them in suspended animation, or if you prefer, naptime timeout.
Captain America receives a buzz from Hawkeye who wonders what he’s doing within hailing range, ie in the western half of the US.
Captain America: “Arizona... government business... And I’m as surprised to hear you, as you are me! I take it that your team finished its mission in the Pacific early!”
Hawkeye: “Mission? What are you talking about, Cap? We haven’t been on any mission!”
Which is a dun dun dun considering their whole reason for being sent on this mission was that the West Coast Avengers were ostensibly busy.
And Vision lying about that raises a whole lot of questions for the Avengers.
Cap and Wanda Witch rush over to the Quinjet and contact the Mansion.
Vision: “Then you’re aware of my deception. I... am sorry, Cap. I didn’t want to mislead you, but I felt it necessary to carry out my plan.”
Scarlet Witch: “Plan? Vision, what do you mean? What have you done?”
Vision: “I... well, there is no easy way to put this... But I have taken over the world.”
You never want to hear “I have taken over the world” from a friend, unless its followed with “and I want to get you in on the ground floor of this exciting new opportunity.”
Vision promises the two that he’s taking over all of Earth’s computers for a really good reason like ending war and strife. And signs off by telling Wanda everything will be alright and that he loves her.
Aww?
Cap: “He meant it... he meant every word.”
Scarlet Witch: “He’d been upset lately, but I never thought... Cap, we have to stop him!”
Cap: “Yes. If there’s still time!”
DUN DUN DUN!

I am SO excited for the KH3 Re:Mind DLC, but can we talk about this section of the Re:Mind trailer for a bit? I'll be overanalyzing the hell out of this 2-second segment and I'm most likely jumping the gun with assumptions but these are my current thoughts and I wanna get them out.
First and foremost, Sora literally said that "everyone told me I should follow my heart" and he's following his heart which took him straight to Riku's heart. It doesn't get any more straightforward than that folks. I have a theory that this is how Riku gets summoned to Yozora's World in the possible next game but I'll save the theories for later. When I first watched this trailer I screamed so hard when Sora said that. After that whole paopu fruit scene, I desperately needed this.
Aside from the obvious, did anyone else notice Riku's Dive to the Heart had Ansem, Mickey and Namine? While it makes sense that all three are in his heart (Mickey is his close ally, Ansem had a hold on his heart and he now feels obligated to take care of Namine for Repliku's sake) the complete absence of Sora and Kairi immediately drew my attention.
Kairi's absence, to me, makes sense. Kairi and Riku never felt like friends, even all the way back in KH1 Kairi wanted to steal the raft and leave Riku behind since she could sense his growing jealousy and anger and Riku used Kairi as a tool to make Sora feel bad for choosing Donald and Goofy as his new friends. Throughout the series there really aren't many if any moments where Riku and Kairi bond together. Even in KH3, Kairi left Riku out of the paopu fruit sharing (Sure she says that Riku wanted time to himself but she waited for that exact moment to share a fruit with Sora, she could've waited for Riku) and Riku barely reacted when Kairi got yeeted to oblivion by Xehanort (but immediately reacted when Sora got blown back). Their friendship seems to have gotten nowhere and the two almost act like strangers. I think its safe to assume that they're just "friends" because they're friends with Sora thus her absence makes sense.
Sora's absence from Riku's heart, however, makes absolutely no sense. It's been strongly hinted and damn near confirmed that Sora is Riku's most precious person. He has gone through so much to keep Sora safe, from watching over him as he slept for an entire year and challenging Roxas and Xion in order to get his memories back, hiding himself from Sora because he was ashamed he took Ansem's form despite knowing Sora desperately wanted to see him (and he most likely also wanted to see him), and even going as far as becoming his dream eater and defending the sleeping Sora with all his might against the Organization, and finally in KH3 taking on the giant Heartless Tornado/Tower all by himself to protect Sora. Then there have been subtle hints of Riku hiding his true feelings for Sora, from the scene in DDD where Quasimodo (or was it Pheobus?) says that Riku keeps a lot bottled up inside, and even KH2's Passion/Sanctuary being written about Sora and Riku's reunion (I need more affection than you know). Even in the Re:Mind trailer you can see the visible hurt in Riku's face when he tells Aerith how much they've been looking for Sora and still weren't able to find him.
The fact that Sora is missing from Riku's heart tells me that he is hiding his true feelings of Sora. There is no way that Sora would not have a place in Riku's heart, absolutely no way. Sora is Riku's most precious person, even if its not directly stated (but still heavily implied) we can tell by Riku's actions and words that Sora is his most precious person.
In Sora's Dive to the Heart, Kairi, Riku, Donald and Goofy all exist and have equal parts. It tells us that the people closest to that person's heart (whether good or bad as shown by Ansem making an appearance in Riku's heart) should all exist.
Kairi doesn't appear that close to Riku so her absence makes sense. Sora, on the other hand, should have had his own little bubble next to Mickey's though honestly I believe he should take up the other half of Riku's heart. Riku's heart has been the subject of discussion since KH1 but it was never shown until now and I find it extremely telling that the one person he focuses 99% of his energy on is missing, but somehow Namine whom he barely interacted with, and whom Nomura confirmed Riku feels obligated to take care of because of his clone's will, has made it to his heart? It makes me believe that Riku has a hidden heart underneath which is where Sora's place is. The heart inside he's been hiding the entire series. I hope we get to see it unlocked one day.

Riku: That was my...my dark side. I gave in to the darkness once. And ever since, it's chased me around in one form or another. The Seeker of Darkness who stole my body...a puppet replica of the shadows in my heart...and now, I'm facing me.
Definitely think it's a scrapped idea. The entire way Riku Replica was handled in KH3 made no sense. It was just so...weird. Riku Replica was the Seeker of Darkness we fight at the Keyblade Graveyard. And also...a ghost Riku? There’s three Rikus now?
Riku Replica: I thought by finding some new strength, I could finally be someone---someone who is not at all you! But...nothing changes... I'm still just empty! Everything about me is borrowed. As long as you're around, I'll never be more than a shadow!
If you ask me, Riku Replica wasn’t supposed to be some kind of unique character distinct from Riku. He was supposed to be an aspect of Riku. His Shadow Self. It's why he had such an exaggerated personality. Like his rivalry with Sora and his belief that the real Riku was a wimp who was afraid of the darkness. Shadows are the embodiment of the repressed qualities of their human counterparts. In the Persona series, Shadow Selves wish to kill their original selves and take their place in the world. I think Kingdom Hearts had the same idea. This is exactly what Riku Replica tried to do in CoM and what Aqua's Shadow Self wanted to do, too.
Naminé: No matter how much I change his memory, Sora will never forget Kairi. Memories of me--- More false memories of me will just make his feelings for Kairi even stronger than before. Because...I'm the shadow of Kairi.
Larxene: What's your problem with that? That should be your incentive not to screw anything up. Just do a good job rewriting Sora's heart. Then you can actually be somebody---and no longer just Kairi's shadow. You'll be real in Sora's heart.
It's exactly what Naminé was trying to do as well, just in a different way. She tried to replace all of Sora's memories of Kairi with memories of HER. I also think Naminé was meant to be simply an aspect of Kairi’s personality, not a unique character unto herself. IMO, the Riku Replica ghost thingy only existed to come up with SOME excuse to bring Naminé back. If Kairi’s shadow could come back, people would wonder why Riku’s shadow couldn’t come back. Oh, look he sacrificed his vessel for her. How sweet. Well, in reality, Riku Replica just wasn’t as popular as Naminé.
Shadow Kanji: I am a shadow... The true self... I'm just being true to myself...And that's why... I'll get rid of anything in my way!
Yukiko: Are these... Kanji-kun's true feelings?
Yosuke: This isn't really him! It's just his emotions going haywire!
IMO, the Seeker of Darkness Riku was the only Riku Replica that was supposed to be in KH3. The original idea was that the hidden aspects of Riku's psyche were manifested in him. I’m sure this was something that was supposed to be explored in KH0.5. If Riku was supposed to have some kind of subplot with his "other self" in KH3, it would be similar to something like Persona 4. Basically, the character is dealing with some personal issue that they are ashamed of. This issue manifests as an exaggerated mirror image of them---what they are afraid to be perceived as.
Aqua: Terra and Ven didn't have anything to say. But my shadow... She wanted to destroy me. Never would have thought I'd become my own worst enemy. I've talked to myself a lot since falling into these shadows. But with the phantom, it's as though all of my doubts have gained a voice of their own. She's the weakness in my heart.
My guess is that Riku leaving behind his old Keyblade for his other self was a remnant of the original idea for his character arc. It was featured in the trailer because it was supposed to be a very important scene for him (like Anti-Aqua). Riku would finally overcome the darkness inside of him by accepting it head-on. He was trying so hard to deny certain aspects of himself, because he was ashamed. Riku Replica was the embodiment of what Riku was afraid of being perceived as---a horrible person who destroyed his home and rejected his "loser" friends.
Quasimodo: Master Frollo--he made me live inside the bell tower, but the real walls were the ones I built around my heart. You helped me see that, Riku.
Riku: I was...speaking from...personal experience.
Phoebus: I'd say you still keep a lot locked inside.
Esmeralda: We all do that sometimes. There are just some things we need to keep separate from the world at large, at least until we have time to figure them out.
He’s extremely jealous of Sora's ability to follow his heart and make friends so easily. He hated how Sora always “wormed his way” into his heart, so he constantly tried to kill him. Suppressing those parts of himself only made his Shadow Self stronger, allowing it to become a Seeker of Darkness.
Yosuke: Dammit... It hurts to face yourself... I knew it wasn’t lying...But I was so ashamed that I didn’t want to admit it... You’re me... and I’m you. When you get down to it, all of this is me. > The strength of heart required to face oneself has been made manifest...Yosuke has faced his other self... He has obtained the facade used to overcome life’s hardships, the Persona Jiraiya!
Riku would need to bring these issues to light and accept them as parts of himself. All people have shadow aspects of themselves, so Riku would learn that it's really nothing to be ashamed of. It's just part of being human. Having a friend see his Shadow and still accept him would also help. That may have been Mickey's role while using the power of waking on him. After dealing with his Shadow Self, Riku would gain the strength of heart to awaken a new power.
Mickey: Yep, it's just the key I was looking for. A Keyblade from the dark realm!
Aqua: A Keyblade of darkness.
Mickey: "The door of darkness...tied by two keys. The door of darkness...to seal the light." Welp, we've got the keys. Now we find the ones to close the door.
It's VERY likely that Riku's original Keyblade was a Dark Realm Keyblade (a concept that was left unexplored). Riku would symbolically leave his old Keyblade behind for his other self because he doesn't need it anymore. He confronted and accepted his Shadow Self, and was able to overcome his shame. He "faced his fears," allowing him to summon a new Keyblade from the Realm of Light. So, Shadow Riku can keep the Keyblade with the Gazing Eye. But Riku's leaving it behind for him in a figurative sense, not a literal sense. Nobody can actually use that thing. It's a broken piece of junk. And I think that was the point. Riku was supposed to be facetious by saying that.

Anime Gasp Noises (Sleeping Realm Theory Debunk)Pg. 310
I need to think more original titles lol DISCLAIMER: Even though that I am making a debunk in this specific page, I need to state quickly that I do not hate the people who made the sleeping realm theory, nor the Sorikus fan (because I know that someone out there is gonna use that as an example of me hating them) but you don’t like SRT debunks or anyone that talk somewhat negative to the theory overall, I recommended you not reading this, but your choice is not my choice. Also if I made a mistake or miss a detail or two, please tell me. Anyway moving on, after readying @bluerosesburnblue and their recent SRT discussion, I am motivated to do one as well, more specifically the “Fist clenching” part (which I think that either blue or @pmiller1 talk about this before and if that true, then I apologize.) without further ado, let begin; first thing first, I need to put the shot of Yinsid conversation about the “heroes”
Now before they posted these screenshot, they stated that not only that Nomura purposely put in here to draw the player attention, thus makes you focus on it. but they also say and I quote (or rather screenshot);
Where I don’t think that is a case, remember, Yinsid stated that there is (supposedly) some keyblade wielders that use the keyblade to defend the lights or rather conquer it. And we all know that Sora had always been protecting the lights, but doesn’t that mean that they (the writers) saying that Riku wants to conquer the lights? Now I know that they haven’t straight out stated word for word that Riku wants to conquer the light, but the fact that they say whenever Riku clenching his fist it most often had to do with Sora and they purposely put these screenshot in, I think they’re implying that the “heroes” Yinsid was talking about is Sora and Riku, where that can’t be true, because the closest thing that Riku was close to “conquering the light” was Kairi from KH1, other than that, there hasn’t been any proof that Riku was to take the light, the one who DO want to take the light was Xehanort. if that not the case, then Yinsid basically explain both Sora and Riku future that one of them will defend the light while one wants to take it, meaning that Sora and Riku will have to fight against each other soon. what I do think that Riku is clenching his fist is because he knows that the “heroes” that Yinsid was talking about was both Master Eraqus and Xehanort and the fact that Xehanort, the same man who separated Aqua, Ventus, and Terra, and basically the one who created Ansem and Xemnas was once called a hero. moving on to the La Cite des Cloches screenshots;
Now this one is an interesting part, even though I haven’t seen The Hunchback of Notre Dame (The names of the movies where the world take place) I do know that Quasimodo is a “unique” person who many people stated that he was a monster or ugly thus was sned in the tower order by the Judge, but saved a women from that Judged, where I can get the morel from the movie “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” Even though I agree that Riku was most thinking about sora at those moments even when he said to Quasi that a friend should accept him, no matter what. but the whole “wall built around the hearts” sound kinda familiar;
Remember, Riku gave up his light so that he can use that darkness to help Diz to revive Sora, but the fact that he was walking away from Sora and Kairi without telling them, (mostly sora) the truth, Riku can relate to Quasi so much, which is the reason why Riku had a hard time to say “I was speaking from personal experiences” And I think that Kairi and Sora helped Riku and because of that, he already knows what to say to Quasi. plus, the fact that the Captain was to tell that he still has those wall locked inside could bring parrel to Riku dialog in KH2 and DDD;
(plus the fact that DDD take place after KH2 should speak volume) So I think that Riku clenching his fist, isn’t about Sora, but rather the thing he regrets causing to Sora and Riku, and the fact that he hasn’t at all don’t dislike the darkness, but rather the one who uses it (thus explained why Riku still uses any dark related magic in DDD and in KH3) and I think Riku doesn’t want the same regret he felt happened to anyone else, thus Quasi. And I think Riku still have those regret until the end of DDD. Onward to the Symphony of Sorcery;
Yes, I know that both YMX and Riku is talking about Sora of course, but before all of that, YMX knowledge that Riku was suppose to have the Kingdom key until it's now Soras’ Keyblade. I believe that he said this, just so Riku can get mad, since we all know that Riku has been jealous of Sora, thinking that he(Riku) was always better than him(Sora), and the reason YMX does this, so he expected Riku to use the darkness, and this proves my point, when YMX said this;
which also explain why they went after to Sora, not to Riku since Sora isn’t immune to darkness. YMX want Riku to use his rage to summon the darkness, but Riku acknowledge that, but still, want to change for the better. And finally, the last time Riku Clenches his fist in DDD
I think that in this part, its the same thing as YMX, in YMX cases, he want Riku to use the darkness to get back what is rightfully his, aka the Kingdom Key, and for Ansem cases, and the way Riku said that its almost like he want Riku to use the darkness to save Sora, kinda like he did to Sora with Xemnas in KH3 when Sora want to bring Roxas back. I would talk about the KH3 one, but I think many people had already debunked those, plus I kinda tired-out from the rest of the point, I talk about; (seriously, took me 11pm to 2am to finish this lol) also (and Sorry if I’m being a dick) isn’t it a bit funny that before they posted the DDD screenshot, they stated;
but after they finish posted DDD screenshot, they THEN say;
basically, debunk their whole “Whenever Riku clenched his fist, its mostly about Sora” headcanon Plus, to make matter worse, they forgot to mention the last time we’ll see Riku clenched his fist (until Re:Mind come out)
But of course, that just my opinion/headcanon/thoughts I hope you have a good day and thank you for reading!

Esmeralda's birth-name was Agnès. She is the love child of Paquette Guybertaut, nicknamed 'la Chantefleurie', an orphaned minstrel's daughter who lives in Rheims. Paquette has become a prostitute after being seduced by a young nobleman, and lives a miserable life in poverty and loneliness. Agnes's birth makes Paquette happy once more, and she lavishes attention and care upon her adored child: even the neighbours begin to forgive Paquette for her past behaviour when they watch the pair. Tragedy strikes, however, when Gypsies kidnap the young baby, leaving a hideously deformed child (the infant Quasimodo) in place. The townsfolk come to the conclusion that the Gypsies have cannibalised baby Agnes; the mother flees Rheims in despair, and the deformed child is exorcised and sent to Paris, to be left on the foundling bed at Notre-Dame.
Fifteen years later, Agnes—now named La Esmeralda, in reference to the paste emerald she wears around her neck—is living happily amongst the Gypsies in Paris. She serves as a public dancer. Her pet goat Djali also performs counting tricks with a tambourine, an act later used as courtroom evidence that Esmeralda is a witch.
Claude Frollo sends his adopted son Quasimodo to kidnap Esmeralda from the streets. Esmeralda is rescued by Captain Phoebus, with whom she instantly falls in love to the point of obsession. Later that night, Clopin Trouillefou, the King of the Truands, prepares to execute a poet named Pierre Gringoire for trespassing the Truands' territory known as The Court of Miracles. In a compassionate act to save his life, Esmeralda agrees to marry Gringoire.
When Quasimodo is sentenced to the pillory for his attempted kidnapping, it is Esmeralda, his victim, who pities him and serves him water. Because of this, he falls deeply in love with her, even though she is too disgusted by his ugliness even to let him kiss her hand. There, Paquette la Chantefleurie, now known as Sister Gudule, an anchoress, curses Esmeralda, claiming she and the other Gypsies ate her lost child.
Two months later, Esmeralda is walking in the streets when Fleur-de-Lys de Gondelaurier, the fiancée of Phoebus, and her wealthy, aristocratic friends spot the Gypsy girl from the Gondelaurier house. Fleur-de-Lys becomes jealous of Esmeralda's beauty and pretends to not see her, but Fleur's friends call Esmeralda to them out of curiosity. When Esmeralda enters the room, tension immediately appears—the wealthy young women, who all appear equally pretty when compared to each other, are plain in comparison to Esmeralda. Knowing that Esmeralda's beauty far surpasses their own, the aristocrats make fun of her clothes instead. Phoebus tries to make Esmeralda feel better, but Fleur grabs Esmeralda's bag and opens it. Pieces of wood with letters written on them fall out, and Djali moves the letters to spell out "Phoebus". Fleur, realizing that she now has competition, calls Esmeralda a witch and passes out. Esmeralda runs off, and Phoebus follows her.
Later that month, she meets with Phoebus and declares her love for him. Phoebus takes the opportunity to kiss her as she speaks, and he pretends to love her. He asks Esmeralda what the point of marriage is (he has no intentions of leaving his fiancée Fleur-de-Lys, he just wants to "sleep" with Esmeralda), which leaves the girl hurt. Phoebus, seeing the girl's reaction, pretends to be sad and says that Esmeralda must no longer love him. Esmeralda then says that she does love him and will do whatever he asks. Phoebus begins to undo Esmeralda's shirt and kisses her again. Frollo, who was watching from behind a door, bursts into the room in a jealous rage, stabs Phoebus, and flees. Esmeralda passes out at the sight of Frollo, and when she comes to, she finds herself framed for murder, for a miscommunication makes the jury believe that Phoebus is in fact dead. Esmeralda proclaims her innocence, but when she is threatened with having her foot crushed in a vice, she confesses. The court sentences her to death for murder and witchcraft (the court has seen Djali's spelling trick), and she is locked away in a cell. Frollo visits her, and Esmeralda hides in the corner (before this point in the book, the readers know that Frollo's lustful obsession of the girl has caused him to publicly denounce and stalk her). Frollo tells Esmeralda about his inner conflict about her, and he gives her an ultimatum: give herself to him or face death. Esmeralda, repulsed that Frollo would harm her to this extent for his own selfishness, refuses. Frollo, mad with emotion, leaves the city. The next day, minutes before she is to be hanged, Quasimodo dramatically arrives from Notre Dame, takes Esmeralda, and runs back in while crying, "Sanctuary!".
While she stays in the cell at Notre Dame, she slowly becomes friendly with Quasimodo and is able to look past his misshapen exterior. Quasimodo gives her a high-pitched whistle, one of the few things he can still hear, and instructs her to use it whenever she needs help. One day, Esmeralda spots Phoebus walking past the cathedral. She asks Quasimodo to follow the captain, but when Quasimodo finds where Phoebus is, he sees Phoebus leaving his fiancée's house. Quasimodo tells him that Esmeralda wants to see him: Phoebus, believing Esmeralda to be dead, believes Quasimodo to be a devil summoning him to Esmeralda in Hell, and flees in terror. Quasimodo returns and says he did not find Phoebus.
For weeks Esmeralda and Quasimodo live a quiet life, whilst Frollo hides in his private chambers thinking about what to do next. One night, he brings his master key to Esmeralda's room. The girl wakes up and is paralyzed with terror until Frollo pins her to the bed with his body and tries to rape her. Unable to fight him off, Esmeralda grabs the whistle and frantically blows it. Before Frollo can make sense of her actions, Quasimodo picks him up, slams him against the wall, and beats him with the intention of killing him. Before Quasimodo can finish, Frollo stumbles into the moonlight pouring in from a far window. Quasimodo sees who Esmeralda's attacker is, and drops him in surprise. Frollo fumes with fury, and tells Esmeralda that no one will have her if he cannot, before leaving the cathedral.
Frollo finds Gringoire and informs him that the Parlement has voted to remove Esmeralda from the sanctuary, and intends to order soldiers to forcibly accomplish the task. Gringoire reluctantly agrees to save the girl, and formulates a plan with Frollo. The next night, Gringoire leads all the Parisian Gypsies to Notre Dame to rescue Esmeralda. Mistakenly responding to this assault, Quasimodo retaliates and uses Notre Dame's defenses to fight the gypsies, thinking that these people want to turn in Esmeralda. News of this soon comes to King Louis XI, and he sends soldiers (including Phoebus) to end the riot and hang Esmeralda. They reach Notre Dame in time to save Quasimodo, who is outnumbered and unable to prevent the gypsies from storming the Gallery of Kings. The gypsies are slaughtered by the king's men, while Quasimodo (who has not realised that the soldiers wish to hang Esmeralda) runs to Esmeralda's room. He goes into a panic when she is nowhere to be found.
During the attack, Gringoire and a cloaked stranger slip into Notre Dame and find Esmeralda about to sneak out of the cathedral (she had feared that soldiers were trying to take her away when she heard the battle). When Gringoire offers to save the girl, she agrees and goes with the two men. The three get into a nearby boat and paddle down the Seine, and she passes out when she hears many people chanting for her death.
When Esmeralda wakes, she finds that Gringoire is gone, and the stranger is Frollo. Frollo once more gives Esmeralda a choice: stay with him or be handed over to the soldiers. The girl asks to be executed. Angry, Frollo casts her into the arms of Gudule (Paquette Guybertaut). There, the two women realize that Esmeralda is in fact Gudule's lost child. The guards arrive, and Gudule pleads for them to show Esmeralda and herself mercy. Gudule follows the guards to the scaffold, kicking and biting along the way. A guard throws Gudule to the ground; she hits her head and dies.
Back at Notre Dame, Quasimodo is still frantically looking for his friend. He goes to the top of the north tower and finds Frollo there. Quasimodo notes Frollo's demented appearance and follows his gaze, where he sees Esmeralda in a white dress, dangling in her death throes from the scaffold.

I feel like Being Creative but not like writing coherently so I’m just gonna kinda think ‘out loud’
Princess’ Son may be better served by backtracking to make a kidnapping plot but god that gives literally the entire rest of my main cast butterfly effects to deal with.
Time-traveling Jaskier could be half-elf so he’s not just mortal-but-in-the-future-now. Maybe his Mom’s Toruviel and part of the reason toss a coin is Like That is cuz he’s confused & upset at how different his Mom is (which is mostly just a product of being centuries younger)
Should redux Borrowed Sun so that instead of just waking up relatively unconcerned in [redacted for 107 Missing Sky spoilers] Carlos is like. Summoned by [redacted for spoilers] who is not sure whether he should kill the Apparition or not now that they’re the same size. Carlos is just like “please do not I do not need to see my husband cry at Homecoming”
If I go with the kidnapping plot and decide that Stregobor genuinely believes in the mutations and wasn’t just trying to manipulate everyone by saying they existed (and I guess I did make them concrete fact in the dream!Riverside chapter so) then I could do something sick with a curse so that either Jaskier physically can’t sing or it gives his location away if he does because of the ‘it influences people’ thing. Yenn would be able to break it but would probably have to be convinced or would need material to draw the issue out.
I have lil AUs for PS in my head at all times. These include: — Prince Julian of Creyden — Lil Dandelion was brought along to Blaviken and the innkeeper kicked him out once Renfri started ultimatum-ing and when Geralt sees him on the way out of town he says ‘go home’ thinking he is just a Blaviken kid but Jaskier’s like ‘well it’s as good an idea as any’ but he’s leetle and alone so it takes him a long time to get back to Oxenfurt. This Geralt and Jaskier run into each other several times over the years and Geralt just thinks he’s from Blaviken and Jaskier never really corrects him — Jaskier kidnapped by Stregobor while Tiny and made to believe he’s a monster, but they have a Frollo-Quasimodo Father-Son thing going. Besties with Marilka. Marilka shoved him into a closet or something on the day of Blaviken when Renfri got close. Renfri was so close to finding and saving her son but instead she took a hostage and got death. When he’s older and well-convinced Stregobor’s the only thing keeping him from being monsterous he becomes Stregobor’s errand boy. Whole magical community finds him irksome. Yenn fucking loathes him because he’s always up in her business but with plausible deniability. Geralt & Jaskier still meet at Posada cuz Jaskier was sent to spy on the elves. Maybe Geralt doesn’t find out his ‘family’ until Pavetta’s betrothal cuz Calanthe accuses Jaskier/the Brotherhood of trying to push a mage on her and he’s like ‘I’m just here for the party your Majesty’ but the damage is done now Geralt Knows. Can’t decide if he should still be on death’s door in Rinde or not. If he is, Yenn only heals him because she’s like ‘Yeah if Stregobor finds out I let his son die he’ll kill me godsdammit’
Can’t decide if the rest of the cast in the time travel AU should be celebrities or not. I think it would be common knowledge they’re all 800+ but I also don’t think that would make them automatic celebrities, they’d still have to do something of interest. Like if Geralt was famous for doing lots of authentic 13th century sword fighting demonstrations, but that relies on him volunteering. I think he would for the right party/if one of his family were doing it with him though. But I think I want Jaskier to be questioning whether they’re still alive, so they probably shouldn’t be celebrities. Just seems weird to have them be low-profile.
I have established this in Some Post Somewhere but in the time travel AU the grasses were reverse-engineered/rediscovered but in such a way that the mutations are less intense, so there’s a lower initial death rate but even fewer ‘witchers’ have long careers. Eskel complained about how they’re nothing alike but called the same thing on tumblr A Few Times and is a massive meme, like Moreoes Guy (that was @/pizza, right?). Everybody’s like “sure Definitely Not a Classic Witcher. Sure.” But then Jaskier gets back from time traveling and is like “oh shit it was a joke but you actually are a classic witcher holy fuck what school are you from” and Eskel is like “uh okay random Internet stranger - wait, Jaskier of Toss a Coin fame?!?!?!” … also I feel like Jaskier should be tumblr famous adjacent to the way Ea-Nasir is tumblr famous.

Claude Frollo (The Hunchback of Notre Dame): INTJ
Dominant Introverted Intuition [Ni]: When the Archdeacon tries to prevent Frollo from killing the infant Quasimodo, Frollo takes a step back and thinks that if he keeps Quasimodo around, he may become useful to him someday. He didn’t know then how he would be able to use Quasimodo, but he followed his intuition and he was right. A couple of decades later, Quasimodo was able to lead him directly to Esmeralda. Frollo is all about long-term goals and he exudes an extraordinary amount of patience in making his vision into a reality. He tells Phoebus that he has taken care of the gypsies one by one for twenty years. His dream is to rid the city of all of the gypsies. Frollo’s desire to take out the gypsies becomes an obsession. It’s all he can think about and he will stop at nothing. Frollo uses symbolism in order to explain his gypsy problem to Phoebus. As he talks about taking care of the gypsies one by one, he crushes three ants to emphasize his point. Then, he turns over the tile to reveal many more ants. No matter what he does, they continue to thrive. Frollo tells Quasimodo that he’s going to the Court of Miracles to kill the gypsies there, knowing that if Quasimodo knows where it is, he would undoubtedly go to save Esmeralda. Then, all he has to do is keep an eye on him, follow him, and let Quasimodo lead him there.
Auxiliary Extroverted Thinking [Te]: It doesn’t matter what it takes or who he has to hurt. Frollo demands order. The gypsies don’t live within his system, so they must burn. Frollo wants to control those around him and does not stand for insubordination or rule-breakers. He doles out commands with ease and expects his men to carry them out as instructed. Those who challenge his authority in any capacity will pay the price, or be made an example of, which he does to the people that he believes has been harboring gypsies. When the people at the festival begin to throw things at Quasimodo and torment him, Frollo refuses to break it up until he feels Quasimodo has learned his lesson. When he’s about to set Esmeralda on fire, he tries to give her the option to become his, which he feels is preferable to burning alive. Frollo is authoritarian and believes in punishment, discipline, and getting the job done by any means necessary. He strives for efficiency as well, as he instructs his men to wait in between cracks of their whips, because he doesn’t want the numbness of the last lash to dull the pain of the next one.
Tertiary Introverted Feeling [Fi]: Frollo completely lacks empathy, but he sees himself as righteous and virtuous. He believes that he’s ridding the world of vice and sin. He wrestles with his attraction to Esmeralda and refuses to accept the blame for this, saying that God was the one who made the Devil so much stronger than men. He doesn’t know how to deal with his feelings, and instead of trying to understand them, he acts on them by offering Esmeralda the choice of being his or burning. He wants to control Quasimodo and looks down on him. He calls Quasimodo an “idiot” for believing that Esmeralda was being kind to him, instead trying to convince him that she was manipulating him because gypsies aren’t capable of love. He wants to continue being able to control Quasimodo, which he can’t do if Quasimodo believes anyone but Frollo cares for him. Believing that Esmeralda is genuinely good destroys the entire basis of his relationship with Frollo, because he positions himself as the only one who can look beyond his “deformity.” He wants Quasimodo to depend on him, so he can continue to control him.
Inferior Extroverted Sensing [Se]: It’s difficult for Frollo to suppress his inferior function, even though he simultaneously finds it revolting. He has spent his entire life working for all that he has, yet throws it all away because he’s unable to resist his impulses. He tries so hard not to give in to his sensory desires (his undeniable lust for Esmeralda), but he can’t help himself. He wrestles with this feelings because He doesn’t believe in giving into such urges. It’s beneath him. They go against his very nature and against the image he has of himself, but they’re just impossible for him to ignore. He doesn’t know how to deal with the impure feelings he’s having for Esmeralda. In the end, he is unable to control his desires and violently acts on them. He disregards all of his higher functions, which costs him everything that he’s spent his entire life working for, including his own life.
Note: I get why some people type him as an ISTJ, but his inferior function is clearly extroverted sensing. And he’s way too much of a long-term thinker and planner to be Si. He’s not trying to preserve anything, he’s trying to turn his vision into a reality. And he dedicates decades to it.
Enneagram: 1w2 3w2 5w6 So/Sx
Quotes:
Clopin: Judge Claude Frollo longed To purge the world Of vice and sin And he saw corruption Ev’rywhere Except within
Frollo: This is an unholy demon. I’m sending it back to Hell, where it belongs.
Frollo: Just so he’s kept locked away where no one else can see. The bell tower, perhaps. And who knows–our Lord works in mysterious ways. Even this foul creature may yet prove one day to be of use to me.
Clopin: And Frollo gave the child a cruel name. A name that means half-formed… Quasimodo!
Frollo: You come to Paris in her darkest hour, Captain. It will take a firm hand to save the weak-minded from being so easily misled. Phoebus: Misled, sir? Frollo: Look, Captain–gypsies. The gypsies live outside the normal order. Their heathen ways inflame the peoples’ lowest instincts, and they must be stopped. Phoebus: I was summoned from the wars to capture fortune tellers and palm readers? Frollo: Oh, the real war, Captain, is what you see before you. For twenty years, I have been taking care of the gypsies, one… by… one. [On each of the last three words, Frollo crushes one of three ants on a tile. He flips the tile over, revealing scores of ants scurrying around underneath.] Frollo: And yet, for all of my success, they have thrived. I believe they have a safe haven, within the walls of this very city. A nest, if you will. They call it the Court of Miracles. Phoebus: What are we going to do about it, sir? [Frollo slams the tile back down upside down, and turns it, crushing the remainder of the ants.] Phoebus: You make your point quite vividly, Captain.
Quasimodo: I didn’t mean to upset you, master. Frollo: Quasimodo, can’t you understand? When your heartless mother abandoned you as a child, anyone else would have drowned you. And this my thanks for taking you in and raising you as my son? Quasimodo: I’m sorry, sir. Frollo: Oh, my dear Quasimodo, you don’t know what it’s like out there. I do… I do… The world is cruel The world is wicked It’s I alone whom you can trust in this whole city I am your only friend I who keep you, teach you, feed you, dress you I who look upon you without fear How can I protect you, boy Unless you always stay in here Away in here?
[On the last word, Clopin disappears in a puff of smoke, and Esmeralda appears in his place. She proceeds to perform a sultry dance.] Frollo: Look at that disgusting display.
Frollo: You think you’ve outwitted me, but I am a patient man, and gypsies don’t do well inside stone walls. [He pauses, then breathes deeply, smelling Esmeralda’s hair.] What are you doing? Frollo: I was just imagining a rope around that beautiful neck. [Frollo caresses her neck, but she pulls away.] I know what you were imagining. Frollo: Such a clever witch. So typical of your kind, to twist the truth to cloud the mind with unholy thoughts. Well, no matter. [He begins to leave.] You’ve chosen a magnificent prison, but it is a prison nonetheless. Set one foot outside, and you’re mine!
Frollo: Beata Maria You know I am a righteous man Of my virtue, I am justly proud Beata Maria You know I’m so much Purer than the common vulgar, weak, licentious crowd Then tell me, Maria, why I see her Dancing there, Why her smoldering eyes still scorch my soul Like fire, hellfire This fire in my skin This burning desire Is turning me to sin! It’s not my fault! I’m not to blame! It’s the gypsy girl The witch who sent this flame It’s not my fault If, in God’s plan, He made the Devil so much stronger than a man! Protect me, Maria! Don’t let this siren cast her spell Don’t let her fire sear my flesh and bone Destroy Esmeralda And let her taste the fires of hell Or else let her be mine and mine alone!
Frollo: Hellfire, dark fire Now gypsy it’s your turn! Choose me or your pyre Be mine, or you will burn! God have mercy on her God have mercy on me But she will be mine, or she will burn!
Frollo: We found this gypsy talisman on your property. Have you been harbouring gypsies? Miller: Our home is always open to the weary traveler. Have mercy, my lord. Frollo: I am placing you and your family under house arrest until I get to the bottom of this. If what you say is true, you are innocent and you have nothing to fear. Miller: But we are innocent, I assure you! We know nothing of these gypsies! [Frollo pulls their door shut, then bars it shut with a guard’s staff. He turns to Phoebus.] Frollo: Burn it. Phoebus: What!?!? Frollo: Until it smolders. These people are traitors and must be made examples of. [Frollo hands him a torch.] Phoebus: With all due respect, sir, I was not trained to murder the innocent. Frollo: But you were trained to follow orders. [Phoebus takes the torch and douses it in a bucket of water.] Insolent coward.
Frollo: Ease up. Wait between lashes. Otherwise the older sting will dull him to the new.
Frollo: Isn’t this one new? [Picks up the Esmeralda figure] It’s awfully good. Looks very much like the gypsy girl. I know. [A nasty look creeps across his face as his voice rises] You helped her escape! Quasimodo: But I- Frollo: And now, all Paris is burning because of you! Quasimodo: She was kind to me, master. [Frollo smashes the table and its setting] Frollo: You idiot! That wasn’t kindness, it was cunning! She’s a gypsy! Gypsies are not capable of real love! Think, boy! Think of your mother!
Frollo: The prisoner Esmeralda has been found guilty of the crime of witchcraft. The sentence: death! [Cheers go up from the crowd.] Frollo: [He steps closer to Esmeralda] The time has come, gypsy. You stand upon the brink of the abyss. Yet even now, it is not too late. I can save you from the flames of this world, and the next. Choose me, or the fire. [She spits in his face.] Frollo: The gypsy Esmeralda has refused to recant. This evil witch has put the soul of every citizen of Paris in mortal danger…
Quasimodo: You killed her. Frollo: It was my duty, horrible as it was. I hope you can forgive me. There, there, Quasimodo, I know it hurts. But now, the time has come to end your suffering. [We see that Frollo has a dagger. As Frollo raises it to stab him, Quasi sees the shadow of the dagger. He turns and struggles with Frollo only briefly, before wresting the dagger from Frollo’s hands and backing him into a corner.] Frollo: Now, now, listen to me, Quasimodo. Quasimodo: No, you listen! All my life you have told me the world is a dark, cruel place. But now, I see that the only thing dark and cruel about it is people like you!
Frollo: The sentence for insubordination is death. Such a pity. You threw away a promising career.
Frollo: [bluffing to Quasimodo] I know where her hideout is and tomorrow at dawn, I attack with a thousand men. [grins evilly as part of his trick as he leaves]
Frollo: [carrying out Esmerelda’s execution] For justice, for Paris, and for her own salvation, it is my sacred duty to send this unholy demon back where she belongs!
Frollo: Frollo: How dare you defy me?!

The Lost Princess Chapter 59
Warnings: you already know
Rating: SFW
“One dream is connected to another, which means we must choose in which ‘Sleeping World’ you will begin. I will return you to the Destiny Islands just before they were swallowed by the darkness and plunged into sleep. Once dreams take you, you must let them guide you to the Sleeping Worlds. As there are seven pure lights, there are seven ‘Sleeping Keyholes.’ Unlocking these will both grant you new powers, and free the worlds from their wakelessness. Complete this task, and return here safely, and I will name you both...true masters,” Yen Sid said. Before the girls went to join the boys, their fathers stopped them.
“What’s troubling you?” Xemnas asked.
“It’s our moms,” Yui said.
“They’re alive?” Ansem asked.
“That and they’re possessed by a Negaverse,” Roxy said. Ansem and Xemnas’s world snapped after hearing those words.
“H-how were they...?” Ansem asked.
“We don’t know. But we saw them in Traverse Town, possessed by the Negaverse,” Rumi said.
“Well, I know you girls can save them. Along with the princess,” Xemnas said.
“Princess?” the girls asked.
“We’ll explain later. Now go,” Ansem said. The girls nodded and went to go join the boys.

Riku and Rumi entered a world with a large bell tower. In the square of the cathedral, a tall man in gold armor chased down a dark-haired woman in a violet dress.
“Stop her!” the man said. Reaching impassable festival tents, she turned and bowed to him, disappearing into a puff of pink smoke. Riku and Rumi walked into the area, where the woman ran by them. They stopped and watched her escape.
“You there! Have you seen a gypsy woman?” the man asked as he walked over to them.
“Nope. Sorry,” Riku said. The woman hid around the corner, overhearing their conversation.
“All right. Thanks,” the man said. He walked over to a man with strong features. He was dressed in a long black robe with a red sash hanging from his triangular hat.
“I'm terribly sorry, sir. We've lost her,” the first man said.
“Slippery vermin!” the other man said as he turned to the man. (why am i thinking of the tiktok of him turning into a weird centipede and breathing heavily?!) “I'm beginning to question having summoned you back from the wars, Captain Phoebus.” The captain sighed and followed him. Riku and Rumi continued walking and the woman stepped out of hiding.
“Thank you. You stood up for me,” she said as she walked over to them, smiling. “I'm Esmeralda.”
“Riku.”
“I’m Rumi.”
“And it's not like we know what a ‘gypsy’ is. Why are they chasing you?” Riku said.
“Judge Frollo has been hunting us for years. We gypsies are guilty of nothing but loving our freedom, yet Frollo hates whatever he can't control. Now he's even brought in fresh blood to torment us.” Esmeralda sighed. “I'd hate to know what darkness drives that man.”
“I think we can imagine... Tell me more. Was he always like this?” Rumi said.
“I don't give Frollo much thought. But if you'd like, you could try Notre Dame. They say it's a place for answers.” Riku and Rumi looked over to the cathedral. They entered through the massive double doors, making their way across the tiled floor. The church was silent and still.
“Is anybody here?” Riku asked.
“Who...who are you?” someone asked. Riku and Rumi turned to see a man in green clothing in the dark glow of the room. He walked closer and noticed his hunched back and disfigured face.
“I’m Riku.”
“And I’m Rumi.”
“Oh. M-my name's Quasimodo. I'm very sorry, but the Archdeacon is away.” He shyly turned in the direction of the tower stairs.
“Actually, we're looking for a man named Frollo. Do you know where he is?” Riku said. At the mention of the name, Quasimodo turned back to face them.
“My master? He said he had business on the outskirts of the city,” he said.
“Do you mean you know him?” Rumi asked.
“Oh, yes. He's...he's very kind. Master Frollo saved my life. He protects me from the outside world.”
“He ‘protects’ you from it?” Riku asked. Quasimodo looked down at his hands and covered his face.
“The people out there would be cruel to me. I'm a monster, you know,” he said.
“Is that what Frollo told you? Trust me, looks can be deceiving. A good friend sees you for who you are, no matter what face you wear,” Riku said as she smiled.
“You should go out there--find some friends who understand you,” Rumi said.
“Oh no... My master forbids it. I'm not to set foot outside.”
“Are you sure that's what's stopping you? Because I think something else is holding you back,” Riku said. Quasimodo started walking toward the stairs.
“Ask your heart, Quasimodo,” Rumi said.
“We'll check the edge of town. Thanks,” Riku said. Riku and Rumi walked back toward the entrance.
“Wish I could take my own advice...” Riku mumbled. Meanwhile, Sora and the twins entered La Cité des Cloches and walked through the town. Judge Claude Frollo looks upon him with scrutiny. Sora and the twins noticed the man and passed him, sensing an eerie feeling from Frollo's stare.
“Stop,” Frollo said. They turned to face each other.
“What? Who, me?” Sora asked.
“Duh. We’re the only ones here right now,” Roxy said. The judge walked closer to them, examining their clothes.
“I've never seen you before. Your name?” Frollo said.
“I’m Sora.
“I’m Yui.”
“The name’s Roxy.”
“Such disgusting attire. I know what you are,” Frollo said.
“Excuse me?!” Roxy shrieked.
“Judge Frollo. Sir!” Phoebus said as he ran over to them.
“What is the matter, Captain Phoebus? Can't you see...I am interrogating this gypsy?” Frollo asked.
“GYPSY?! I’ll have you know that I am a-mmmm!” Roxy said but Yui covered her mouth before she could say Spirit.
“These kids here?” Phoebus asked.
“I shall be the judge of that,” Frollo said. Phoebus looked hesitant to speak. “Now, Captain, did you have something to report to me or did you not?”
“Yes sir. Monsters--they've invaded the square!” Phoebus said.
“Monsters? We'll take care of it!” Yui said. Sora summoned his Keyblade while the twins summoned Sapphite and they ran in the direction of the cathedral.
“Hey, wait! It's not safe!” Phoebus said as he ran after them. Frollo clenched his fist, pulsing with a dark aura.
“This city is overrun! For decades I've worked to purge the city of those wretched gypsies, and now the streets teem with even more disgusting vermin that threaten law and order,” he said. Sora and the twins ran into the cathedral square, where a festival was taking place. A young man with a hunched back dressed in a king's robe and false crown was waving at the crowd while riding a Zolephant Dream Eater and having a few Negaverse’s surrounding him. Several other Dream Eaters were flying about the area as the crowd cheered.
“I knew it was Dream Eaters and Negaverse’s!” Sora said. Him and the twins charged forward and noticed the man.
“What are you doing? You need to run!” Roxy said.
“Oh no, I couldn't. Today's the festival. And look, I'm the King of Fools!” Quasimodo said. A Komory Bat flew over to Phoebus, who struck it down as Frollo entered. He noticed the man atop the Zolephant and scowled.
“Quasimodo!” he said. Quasimodo gazed at Frollo in terror.
“It’s my master,” he said. The Zolephant's eyes lit up, sensing the fear from Quasimodo, and it buckled back with a loud trumpet, knocking the man to the ground. He got up, surrounded by Nightmares and Negaverse’s, his fear growing. “No! Oh please, stop! Why doesn't anything ever go the way I want it to?” Sora and the twins ran over with the Keyblade and Sapphite.
“Get to safety!” Yui said.
“Let me help!” Esmeralda said as she walked over.
“Huh? Who are you?” Sora asked.
“Esmeralda. I'm a gypsy.”
“Thank you. I'm Sora. That’s Yui and that’s Roxy.” Esmeralda extended her hand to the dejected Quasimodo. He looked up at her and smiled slightly. They ran toward the cathedral doors. Phoebus watched Esmeralda and smirked his approval.
“Gypsy witch!” Frollo said. Sora and the twins faced the Nightmares and Negaverse’s.
“Okay. Now you've got our attention!” Roxy said. They defeated them in combat.
“I wonder if that guy is all right. Quasi...what was it?” Yui said.
“Quasimodo, I think,” Sora said. Sora and the twins entered Notre Dame cathedral and made their way to the bell tower, passing three gargoyles while entering. They saw Quasimodo introducing Esmeralda to the large golden bells hanging throughout the rafters.
“This is Big Marie,” Quasimodo said.
“Hello-o-o!” Esmeralda said as she spun inside the bell and touched the bell's clapper.
“She likes you.” They both smiled at each other.
“Looks like Quasi's gonna be just fine,” Sora said. One of the gargoyles behind him straightened his back.
“Indisputably,” he said. Another did the same.
“He's tough,” he said. And another.
“We may be hard as stone, but Quasi's stronger,” she said.
“I know... WHOA! Talking gargoyles?” Roxy said.
“Excuse us for havin' personality!” Laverne said. Esmeralda started to leave, walking past a table with a model of the city.
“You could stay here forever,” Quasimodo said.
“No, I couldn't.”
“Oh, yes. You have sanctuary.”
“But not freedom. Gypsies don't do well inside stone walls.” Quasimodo's disfigured face took on a determined look.
“You helped me. Now, I will help you,” he said.
“But there's no way out. There's soldiers at every door.” They looked toward the model of the cathedral.
“We won't use a door,” Quasimodo said as he walked over to her. “It's all right. Are you ready?” He took her in his arms and leapt out the window onto the parapet. He jumped down and swung his way out of the cathedral.
“Didn't expect that,” Yui said. She, Roxy, and Sora turned towards the Gargoyles.
“So how come you and Quasimodo are so close?” Sora asked.
“We've been friends for years,” Laverne said.
“More than a decade of camaraderie,” Victor said.
“Breakfast, lunch, and dinner!” Hugo said.
“He never leaves?” Roxy asked.
“Oh, he's not allowed to leave. Judge Frollo forbids it,” Laverne said.
“Why?” Yui asked.
“Care to pull up a stool?” Victor asked.
“The short version is, Frollo thinks he's doing Quasi a favor by keeping folks from seeing that mug of his,” Hugo said.
“After a lifetime of watching from the nosebleed seats, Quasi just wanted to go to the Feast of Fools. And we're so proud of him for finally working up the courage to do it,” Laverne said.
“'Tis a shame those creatures dashed his hopes,” Victor said.
“You should talk. When's the last time you looked in a mirror?” Hugo said.
“Well, you broke it!” They moved closer aggressively.
“Oh, a wise guy, eh?” Hugo asked.
“Knock it off! Ya couple of blockheads!” Laverne said as she knocked them away. “I just hope this one failure doesn't cause Quasi to give up. He was so close.”
“He can't let his heart be a prison,” Sora said. Him and the twins ran to the entrance.
“Don't worry. We'll go talk to him!” Roxy said. Sora and the twins left.

Riku and Rumi reached a bridge and saw a shadow come over him. A large creature flew over him.
“A Dream Eater. And a big one,” Riku said.
“Eek!” Rumi yelped. It flew to a tower and turned toward them, shooting a large fireball.
“What?” Rumi asked. Riku and Rumi ran out of the way as it hit a pile of wooden crates. It shot another as Riku and Rumi continued to run in the creature's direction.
“Oh, like this is fair... No use, we gotta run for it,” Riku said.
“Here. Let me,” Rumi said. Wind surrounded her and her bear guardian, Nyx was summoned.
“Hop on!” she said. Riku climbed on and they dodged more fireballs on their way across the bridge, knocking away smaller Nightmares, Negaverse’s and other obstacles in their path. They reached another part of town as the Wargoyle pursued them. In the outskirts, Captain Phoebus had drawn his sword against Judge Frollo as they stood outside a windmill.
“Stand aside, Captain Phoebus,” Frollo said.
“I will not! What have these people done wrong?” Phoebus said.
“I have proof this family gave harbor to gypsies!”
“That's not a crime.”
“I can think of few crimes that are greater.” The Wargoyle flew toward them as Riku and Rumi ran in on Nyx.
“What demon is this?” Phoebus asked. The Wargoyle descended near Frollo. Frollo walked toward it slowly, his hands folded, pulsing with a dark aura.
“Oh, you are mistaken, Captain Phoebus. This is no demon. It is righteous judgment! I have been granted this power so that I may smite all gypsies now and forever!” he said.
“This is all wrong!” Phoebus said.
“He won't listen. Once you've fallen that far, there's almost no coming back,” Riku said as he dismounted Nyx, Rumi following soon after. Nyx dissipated like he was sand.
“How dare you. I am a virtuous man. Good and evil shall be made plain...once the gypsies face the fires of judgment,” Frollo said. He walked away, quietly laughing to himself. The Wargoyle followed, but Phoebus ran ahead of the creature.
“No you don't!” The Dream Eater spun and tackled the Captain, knocking him to the ground. Riku and Rumi ran over to Phoebus, who was holding his arm in pain.
“You all right?” Rumi asked.
“Well, I can't say you two didn't warn me,” Phoebus said.
“You should take it easy. We'll deal with Frollo,” Riku said.
“Thanks. I gotta tell you, this is embarrassing--having to rely on kids.”
“You wouldn't be the first. Sorry.”
“I'll admit, you look more capable than me right now. All right, be careful. It looks like that creature...is heading for the cathedral.” Phoebus watched as the the Wargoyle fly toward the city.
“Okay. Got it!” Rumi said.
~~~~
Sora and the twins were running through the square, passing Phoebus on his way into town.
“Oh. Hello again. Sora, Roxy, and Yui was it?” Phoebus said. Sora and the twins stopped and turned toward Phoebus, who was no longer in armor.
“Hold it. You're that guy with Frollo,” Sora said.
“Easy. I'm not looking for any sort of fight,” Phoebus said. Sora and the twins dropped their defenses. “Finally someone sensible. I'm Phoebus. Tell me, is she still safe in the cathedral?”
“If ‘she’ is Esmeralda, then Quasimodo helped her escape,” Roxy said. Quasimodo overheard their conversation.
“Blast,” Phoebus said.
“What’s wrong?” Yui asked. The former captain looked up at the bell tower.
“It's Judge Frollo. He's obsessed with destroying the gypsies, and his mind is in a dark place. When I objected to his barbarous actions, he banished me from the guard,” he said.
“What? That's not fair,” Sora said.
“Don't worry about me. Frollo said he's found the ‘Court of Miracles’--the gypsies' haven within the city. Esmeralda and her friends are in danger.” Quasimodo held a necklace in his hand. “We have to find them and warn them before Frollo gets there.” Quasimodo dropped the necklace, alerting them to his presence.
“Quasimodo, Esmeralda's in trouble!” Roxy said.
“Where did she go?” Phoebus asked.
“I don't know. She...she vanished into the streets,” Quasimodo said. He looked down at the necklace, and picked it up. “She...gave me this pendant. Esmeralda said this would help us find her.” He thought for a second. “‘When you wear this woven band, you hold the city in your hand.’” He gasped in realization, holding it up to show them. “It's the city! It's a map, see? Here's the cathedral and the river. Go this way, cross the bridge and--the Court of Miracles!” Phoebus patted a hand on Quasimodo's back.
“Well done, Quasimodo!” he said.
“Yeah, Quasi, nice!” Yui said.
“Yes, I'm going to save her,” Quasimodo said, confidently. They made their way through the graveyard to the Court of Miracles and found Esmeralda.
“Quasimodo? What are you doing here?” she asked.
“Phoebus and I came to warn you. Frollo's on his way!” Quasi said.
“Take what you can and flee!” Phoebus said. Suddenly, they were surrounded by Nightmares and Negaverse’s.
“Well done, Captain Phoebus,” Frollo said as he walked in. “Thankfully, you are every bit as predictable as I had hoped.” Phoebus growled.
“Dear Quasimodo. I always knew you would someday be of use to me,” Frollo said. Quasimodo looked defeated as Frollo approached Esmeralda. He leaned in closely and she backed away.
“I have you at last, you witch,” he said. He ran behind her and grabbed her wrist, placing his other hand on her shoulder, his face close to her neck. She struggled to rid herself of the odious man. “There'll be a bonfire in the square.” He started to lead her away.
“No. Please, Master!” Quasi said. Frollo looked down on Quasimodo with contempt.
“Frollo, I won't let you do this!” Sora said. He and the twins ran toward Frollo bearing the Keyblade and Sapphite. Darkness surrounded Frollo, which stopped Sora and the twins, who felt a presence from behind them. They turned and was knocked to the ground by a Dream Eater and a Negaverse. When they came to, their eyes opened slowly and realized everyone is missing.
“No!” they all said. The twins quickly checked their body, making sure that they weren’t possessed by a Negaverse. Thankfully, they weren’t. Sora and the twins looked around. The Court of Miracles was deserted.
“Quasimodo! Esmeralda! Phoebus!” they said. Sora looked down.
“He's taking her to a bonfire in the square...we gotta hurry!” he said.
“Here,” Roxy said. Roxy and Yui summoned Sapphite and climbed on.
“You comin’ or not?” Roxy asked as she held out her hand. Sora took her hand and climbed on. They ran to the cathedral square on Sapphite, seeing a wooden platform where Esmeralda was tied to a large stake, a fire burning around her. The area was bathed in a red haze.
“Esmeralda!” Sora said as he and the twins dismounted Sapphite. Quasimodo looked down from Notre Dame and descended on a long rope. He ran along the cathedral exterior and swung to the platform. He rushed to Esmeralda and began to untie her.
“Way to go, Quasi!” Roxy said. Quasi grabbed onto the rope again and swung back to the cathedral, walking up the side of the church. He reached the parapet in front of the large window and raised Esmeralda's body in the air.
“Sanctuary!” he said. Frollo scowled fiercely and started running toward the cathedral. Sora and the twins started to run after him, but was distracted by stone falling from above. They stopped and looked up, seeing the wingless Wargoyle crash down into the platform. It growled at Sora and the twins as they readied their weapons. They fought and defeated the Wargoyle. Frollo caught up to Quasimodo and Esmeralda on the top of the bell tower. Frollo held a sword in his hands as Esmeralda scrambled on the ground.
“I should have known you'd risk your life to save that gypsy witch-- just as your own mother died in her pitiful attempt to save you,” Frollo said.
“What?” Quasi asked, shocked.
“Now...I'm going to do what I should have done twenty years ago!” He struck forward at Quasimodo, who fell back, catching himself on an edge of the wall. Frollo fell over the edge and landed on a stone gargoyle with an eerie face.
“Hold on! Hold on...” Esmeralda said. She struggled to pull Quasimodo back over the parapet, leaving her defenseless as Frollo stood up, laughing viciously and lifting the sword in the air.
“And He shall smite the wicked and plunge them into the fiery pit, forever!” he said. The gargoyle below him started to crack and he stumbled, losing the sword and dangling by his arms from the statue. The gargoyle glowed and roared at him sinisterly, spilling Frollo into the depths of fear as the statue gave way sending the judge to his death below. Esmeralda started to lose her grip.
“Quasimodo! Quasi, no!” she said. Quasimodo fell off the tower and was saved miraculously by Phoebus. The fire raged in the square below as Quasimodo gave Phoebus a thankful hug. The captain patted him on the back and looked up as Esmeralda entered with a smile. Quasimodo faced her and smiled back. He looked at both of them for a second before placing their hands together. Phoebus and Esmeralda gave a small chuckle as he smiled warmly. On Riku and Rumi's side, they ran into the square, seeing the bonfire had continued burning as Quasimodo held Esmeralda, who was breathing heavily.
“Is she going to be alright?” Riku asked.
“I'm fine, thanks to Quasimodo,” Esmeralda said.
“Quasimodo, where did the creature go?” Rumi asked.
“It's...it's up there,” Quasi said. Riku and Rumi looked up.
“Right,” they said. Quasimodo watched them leave.
“W-wait. Wait, I'll go with you!” he said.
“Thanks, but stay with her,” Rumi said. Her and Riku started to run, but stopped and turned around.
“Quasimodo. Did your heart have the answer?” Riku said. Quasimodo nodded and Riku and Rumi ran into the church. They saw a Dream Eater and a Negaverse vanish as Victor, Hugo, and Laverne appeared.
“Well! I guess...you three got this covered,” Rumi said.
“It was a walk in the park!” Hugo said.
“How would you know? You don't have any legs,” Victor said.
“Yeah, but-- Aw, gimme a break! It's just a figure of speech!”
“Both of you, pipe down. And get ready! 'Cause here come some more!” Laverne said. She turned around and more Nightmares and Negaverse’s appeared. They charged forward.
“Yee-haw!” Hugo said. Riku and Rumi looked upward.
“It’s up there,” Riku said.
“Got it,” Rumi said. The smoke and fire billowed upwards from the square as Frollo cackled evilly atop the parapet of Notre Dame.
“Yes! Let it burn. The flames will consume everything!” Frollo said. Riku and Rumi ran up to him.
“You see? This is the power that has been granted to me!” Frollo said.
“I see a sad old man with a dark heart,” Riku said. Frollo turned to face them and his darkness raged.
“Again, you are wrong! Now you will be judged, just like the rest!” he said. The Wargoyle appeared and flew up to the tower, knocking Frollo from the parapet. He dropped the sword in his hand as he fell toward the square below.
“Judgment is mine!” Frollo said. A pair of boots walked toward the sword and Rumi looked up to see an all-too- familiar woman with tan skin, blonde hair, and red eyes.
“Mom! Why are you here? How were you possessed by a Negaverse?” Rumi said. Rumi’s mom was accompanied by the cloaked young man Riku and Roxy encountered in Traverse Town.
“Your best friend is never far,” he said. Rumi’s mom bent down and picked up the discarded sword.
“So sad. The cost of yielding to the darkness,” she said.
“You could write a book about that,” Riku said. Rumi’s mom pointed at Riku and Rumi.
“But I embraced the darkness--and unless you hurry up and learn to do the same, your story will end just like his,” she said.
“I walk the road to dawn!” Rumi said. Riku summoned his Keyblade while Rumi summoned Nyx and a bow and arrow.
“Still afraid of the dark, I see,” the man said. A corridor of darkness appeared behind them and Rumi’s mom tossed the sword away as the cloaked man entered the portal. Before entering, Rumi’s mom smirked at Riku and Rumi.
“Wait!” Rumi said. She rushed to the corridor, but it closed.
“She thinks I'm afraid of the dark? No, not while I have the Keyblade,” Riku said.
“Why would my mom do this? She didn’t deserve this! WE didn’t deserve this!” Rumi sobbed.
“Rumi, come on! We gotta defeat the Dream Eater!” Rumi wiped her tears and joined Riku. They fought and defeated the Wargoyle. It lost its wings and fell. In the nave of the church, Esmeralda and Phoebus walked toward the entrance holding hands while Quasimodo watched happily. Sora and the twins walked over with the three gargoyles.
“Quasimodo. You can't let your heart be a--” Sora said.
“I know. I can't blame Frollo for putting walls around me. It wasn't the walls that were holding me back,” Quasi said. The others nodded and Quasimodo walked to the entrance. “But my heart is free now. I'm ready to really see what's out there.” Later, Sora and the twins stood near the altar, looking at a powerful statue.
“All that time, Quasimodo let himself be trapped inside the nightmares Frollo gave him,” Yui said. They walked to the beam of light pouring in through the large stained-glass window, but stopped seeing a figure walking toward him.
“Hypocrite. You are the one who has made your heart a prison...” someone said. Sora and the twins recognized it as the young cloaked man from Traverse Town.
“You again. What the hell are you talking about?” Roxy said. For a split second, a memory awoke in the recesses of Sora's heart and he saw an image of a boy with black hair similar to his and a silhouette of you next to the boy.
“Even if you are not the prisoner,” the person said.
“Huh?” Sora asked, bewildered. The young man walked into a corridor of darkness, which closed. Sora and the twins looked up as a keyhole appeared on the stained-glass window. Sora raised his Keyblade and sealed it.
“My heart's...a prison?” he asked. He closed his eyes, letting the light wash over him. Later, the city is peaceful as Riku, Rumi, Phoebus and Esmeralda stood in the square with Quasimodo.
“Master Frollo--he made me live inside the bell tower, but the real walls were the ones I built around my heart. You helped me see that, Riku and Rumi,” Quasi said. Riku clenched his fist slowly and Quasimodo noticed.
“I was...speaking from...personal experience,” Riku said.
“I'd say you still keep a lot locked inside,” Phoebus said.
“We all do that sometimes. There are just some things we need to keep separate from the world at large, at least until we have time to figure them out,” Esmeralda said. She smiled at Riku and Rumi, who nodded. Later, Rumi thought to herself about her mother.
“I know the road my heart walks,” she said. A keyhole appeared above the round glass window of the cathedral. Riku pointed his keyblade at it and sealed the world.
You and Vanitas sat in the cell, discussing your escape plan but no ideas came to mind.
“Can you use your powers to get out of her?” Vanitas asked. You shook your head and hugged one of the Unversed close to you.
“I can’t even summon Odile,” you said.
“Forgot you named her,” Vanitas said. You giggled and played with the Unversed that was begging for attention.
“What should we name this little guy?” you asked as you held it in front of you.
“You pick. You’re better at names than I am,” Vani said. You thought for a moment and came up with the perfect name.
“How about, Katsuki?” you asked (leave me alone, okay? katsuki’s one of my favorite bnha characters). The Unversed seem to like the name and snuggled close to you.
“Heh, it suits him,” Vani said. While you were holding Katsuki, you thought about Sora and the others and started to cry. Vanitas noticed this and brought you into a hug.
“Shh, don’t cry, okay? We’ll get out of here. I promise,” he said as he rubbed your back.
‘Somehow,’ he said to himself.
