so — i finally got around to doing a full essay blab about my au so i thought — hey! might as well post it onto tumblr too!! so wow! doing that !! :D

i’ll be rambling all about it under the cut (might not super well worded sorry <:D)

So!

WHEN EMMET IS LOST (oh no!! <:[)

The lost & found au follows the normal story at the start with Emmet making his own ship and crashing, falling to Undar of the Dryar system (a dryer..) but I didn’t like how randomly Emmet lost his ability to move in the movie so — in my version I see Emmet attempting to move himself out of there to be noticed by Finn or just get back to his world but he accidentally gets himself further in, catching onto a cobweb and being unable to move!

While he’s stuck there — the general events with Lucy and the others move on, with Lucy figuring out that the systarians aren’t actually a threat through her fight with mayhem and the wedding goes according to plan (in the real world this would just lead with Finn and Bianca making up, learning to share & being nicer to eachother!)

However, everyone else just assumes Emmet is still back at Apocalypseburg! So after staying in the Systar System for a bit, they try to fetch him and find out he actually WASN’T there — they try to find him, leading them to see the wreck of his ship with the only salvageable part of it being Planty

Likely Metalbeard or Batman assume he’s dead but Lucy rebukes it — getting very determined on finding him with the rest following suit!

Through this they form 💥💥Team SPECIAL💥💥 With them all occasionally searching to find Emmet as well as taking caring of Planty in a turn based system! — they also all took a leaf from Planty each to place somewhere on their outfit to remember/tribute Emmet and everything he’s done for them.

then they search for about 2 and a half years—

Me and my sister thought that eventually people would lose faith in Emmet actually being alive in the order of:

Metalbeard (most likely used to loss from his crew) > Batman > Unikitty > Lucy/Benny

-> Lucy because as the years pass, shes living her own life and eventually begins to date Mayhem and starts to mentally consider the fact that Emmet could well be dead by now

-> Benny because of my bias and also that, he pretty much went through something similar being trapped on a moon for whoever knows how long in the deleted scenes, which i find canon and cool! so he can probably imagine more of what Emmet could be going through trapped wherever he is

EMMET BEING FOUND (woah)

[ Eventually Emmet is found — basically through coincidence of Bianca leaning down to the ground and catching a glimpse of Emmet’s hi-ves peeking back, with her immediately shouting at Finn about it who was playing with benny when it happened ]

In the ‘play’ world this is interpreted as Benny flying his ship in a much more distant part of galaxy and catching a random spark of light on a grey planet and deciding to check it out.

I imagine Undar as a planet to be very foggy and hard to see through, With benny trudging through it to find — wow!! that’s emmet on the floor looking kinda dead!!

Benny would, rightfully, freak out and immediately get Emmet to the ship while Emmet is in this weird intermittent space of being transitioned from the real world of being under a literal dryer to this new planet.

Emmet while he was under the dryer for 2 and a half years (possibly feeling LONGER with how real time is transitioned into playtime) was mainly holding out hope for his friends but slowly got into a depressive state, however not to the point of feeling rage and complete betrayal like Rex!

(this is added by him being further in the dryer so he couldn’t see outside super often, though when he did he felt really sad :[) so it was generally a bit of a middle ground when Benny found him, not happy and full of life but not aggressive and betrayed!

Benny made sure to lay him down on maybe a medbay on the ship or something to check that he was alive and breathing and immediately went to radio the others the same info —

Eventually Emmet gets into a space of — somewhat ?? consciousness with Benny kinda hurling a lot of questions at him — I think Emmet would first assume he was dead or maybe hallucinating and tried asking where Vitruvius was, though because of being stuck in such a dusty place where NO ONE in the family CLEANS >:[ — It caused his movement and speech to be very limited and difficult, with Benny master-builderizing him a spaceship themed cane so he can try to stand, with Benny giving some exposition of what’s been happening since he was gone while they travel back home.

Benny also tries to clean the *HEAPS* of dust on this guy, maybe using one of the systarian cloths on his ship since they’re a technically ‘real’ substance when water doesn’t work (it’s not super effective)

— a bit more smaller points when they get back cause i’m not the biggest thinker so:

-> they get back and immediately Emmet gets tackled

-> Emmet quickly is whiplashed with how different everything is, it’s bright, it’s happy, it’s *colourful* — with all of his friends being completely different than their rugged personalities 3 years back!

-> As he’s trying to cope he also spots Mayhem and immediately freaks out about it, quickly being subdued by either Benny or Lucy

-> With Lucy, explaining that she’s dating mayhem now (a lot more concrete label than whatever Emmet and Lucy had—) and still wants to be super best friends with Emmet, with Emmet agreeing and quietly shoving down his emotions because of how much he is still — reeling from *everything*

Through that! Everyone starts discussing where Emmet should live for the time being with the general consensus being Benny’s place since he found Emmet and Emmet probably is the most used to him at the moment

My sister would also like it to be added that Benny’s house is : its a large spaceship that docks into a port, the big spaceship can fly but typically stays there, he has smaller spaceships docked into the larger one which he found emmet with + theres an observatory (spacetastic!!)

RECOVERY!! (wow healing !!)

They live together for probably around a month or two, with Emmet slowly regaining his movement and speech a little better (likely aided with Finn’s real world attempts to clean him) as well as Emmet getting a change of clothes with how dusty his worker clothes are (said mainly by whatevera) with it being a orange spacesuit courtesy of Benny :D

He also gets Planty back (who is in a much worse state, worn leaves even though everyone taking care of them tried everything they could to keep Planty healthy, even getting the highest quality soil!)

turns out Planty has a caffeine addiction which they find out when Emmet sips his coffee and pours a little to Planty as well , and wouldn’t you know it Planty immediately started looking better wow—

Emmet has, *alot* of difficulties recovering, with him being unable to sleep for a week when he got back (that being from him being somewhat ‘stuck’ in a toy form from being outside for so long) and then sleeping for days — as well as constant nightmares, massive jet lag, super bad appetite for a while plus a panic attack from hearing the dryer (benny threw it out the window afterwards) with Benny helping him out, mainly because he knows what all of this is since he went through it himself — trauma buddies !!

Additionally with this Emmet’s friends are being very protective over him/worry over him a lot and won’t let him do things on his own which Emmet might find a lil bothersome and / it gets in the way of his routines he wants to get back to, maybe he struggles with the idea that he can never have the same routine because everything around him is so different now!

It probably takes him a while until he can build his own house, it’s probably used as a main meeting spot for all of his friends (he might need a taller couch ,,,)

Speaking of !! Emmet’s friends (-benny) have to deal with their expectations of him, they’re not expecting him to be tough anymore (they want him to be ‘himself’ now!) but they’re still expecting him to be how he was ⅔ years ago instead of realising he’s a bit different now! And he’s not going to be the exact same Emmet they remembered!

THE SPACE CREW!!

(The penis crew yes that is indeed their name i thought it was funny—)

So after say maybe 1-2 years of just - recovery for Emmet and getting therapy sessions from a toy dolphin — plus living with Benny for that amount of time, Benny eventually recommends that he works/helps out at his space planet and meets his crew!

The said crew consisting of; Benny, Lenny, Kenny and Jenny! With them acting like a juxtaposition to Emmet’s old construction crew (Everyone there actually remembers his name and actively include him/want to hang out with him!) — of course Emmet’s also still friends with his master-builder friend-group but there’s a slight distance now, mainly because he changed and blames himself for not living up to their standards STILL (which is now, the Emmet they used to know)

I think at first, Emmet would probably be a bit nervous about it all since he’s only really *heard* about benny’s crew than meeting them but after meeting Kenny who immediately says ‘hey y’know that double decker couch idea— AWESOME :D’

I think he’d warm up pretty quickly to them all and basically becoming apart of the crew when he brings everyone’s drinks with the order being right one time!

Generally Benny’s crew think about Emmet at first being:

Kenny - Generally thinks he’s cool and probably the one running over with stuff to be repaired the *most* (<-clumsy lil guy)

Lenny - Since they all heard about Emmet when he was lost, Lenny would feel mainly sympathy and try to keep him cool

Jenny - Somewhat wary but trusts benny’s word and quickly thinks he’s cool as well after a bit

I think he’d mainly be the crew’s mechanic since he’s probably the only master builder *still* that builds with structural integrity which would be pretty useful, as well as him probably not being super comfortable being out in space because of, the obvious…

Emmet still needs to use his cane, it’s somewhat a forever thing about him but he does get better mobility and gets in a much more happier head space than before, with his new outfit being like his old construction crew one but with a little lego space emblem and some more glittery pens and stickers because this is the systar system after all (I also just think emmet likes pens :D) — as well as a lack of his name tag on his leg anymore since he doesn’t need it anymore because his friends know what his name is and yay yay yay happy times! :D

and then eventually Benny and Emmet date and be lovely and awesome but i’m bad at writing slow burn so it’s simply implied to be here !! yea !!! wahoo !!

and that’s basically my entire au !! mainly written because i���m bad at being focused on drawing !! wahoo!!!

I’ve always been a fan of pixel art so I was pretty excited for this one and I’ve got to say I was not disappointed

I also got a little sidetracked when I found out it has an animation feature and I hyper fixated on this thing for a solid 1/2 hours

I watched Transformers One last night, and now that I've let it sink in over night I have some WORDS (In a positive way, this movie SLAPPED and I just wanna ramble haha)

I'll just be going over the main 4 however!

So Spoilers under the cut!!!

Okay straight off the bat I wanna preface that I'm not the most knowledgeable about the TF franchise, I'm more of a casual fan. I've seen some of the Bay movies, Bumblebee 2018, and a little of bit of a few of the TV shows. (I'm starting to read the IDW comics, but I'm not far)

So as a casual fan of the franchise this movie was EVERYTHING.

It's just so... refreshing to have a simple "friends to enemies" story line that doesn't try to get complicated. You can tell that the people working on the movie really fucking loved the franchise, and that they took the time to refine the movie.

Megatrons origin story is very believable and well paced, at time's I went "YEAH BEAT HIS ASS D" outloud. OOOOO AND HIS OPTICS CHANGING COLOURS SLOWLY IS AWESOME!!! I can't remember the exact scene (I have horrible memory) but there's this one frame of Orion standing up after being pushed away, and you can see D-16 standing up in the background behind him... and he's just covered in shadows, his optics are a muddy orange. No longer the bright yellow like they were in the beginning and UGG THAT WAS GREAT!!

Chris Hemsworth was actually really well cast as a young Optimus. I don't think he would suit a more war-torn and older Optimus Prime, however as Orion Pax I think he hit the nail on the head. He sounded young, hopeful and full of curiosity that it makes the broken friendship between D-16 and Orion Pax more impactful.

They spent the whole movie being at each other's backs, even when you can tell D was getting sick of his shit, they loved each other. D saying "I won't ever follow another leader" oof- and with his "the only person I can trust is-" being cut off short is GREAT foreshadowing.

At that point in the story I don't even know if he would have said Orion, or himself. Their bond is straining, tensions are rising high and they have hit a split road.

Elita I think, while not being as stand out as the other two, was pretty great in the movie as well. She had a more low-key character Arc, going from a stick in the mud looking for her next promotion, loosing it all because of Orion saving another bot (Jazz!!!!), being mad at him and willing to do anything to get back up the rank, having her whole world fall... and then finding hope within the last bot she would ever thought she would.

She is a figure head, someone who leads and gives commands, yet is bound and confined by rules and her superiors. I don't think she was every truly happy, but seeing Orion try his hardest and never loosing the spark of hope and bullheadedness inside him inspired her.

I believe that scene of her giving back the map to Orion was the first sign or her beginning to trust him, in addition to her not taking back the map later on.

OKAY NOW... BUMBLEBEE... well B-127 BUT MY LITTLE BEE!!

Oh you poor bastard, look at you! You're not mentally well honey, and the war has JUST started!!!! I really liked him in this film and I will defend him to the end.

Was he a little annoying? Yes. BUT it fits and it works. He's been alone for Prime knows how long, he's desperate for friends and companionship that he can't shut up now that finally, finally he has someone else to talk with.

I liked his jokes throughout the film, sure others can find it annoying (god knows the D, Elita and Orion kinda did) but underneath all of that is just a profound sadness.

You can see this when D-12 is standing up to Sentinel, he tells D to stand down, to kneel. Because he's afraid, he's afraid he's gonna watch as one of the first friends he's ever made be killed right in front of him.

He's also not as dense as other's think he is. He may be optimistic, loud and ever the chatter box who lacks the social ques of someone who's been alone for far to long, but he knows when to calm down. He was quiet when they found the bodies of the Primes, he was the one who had the Energon cube to give to Alpha Trion and he did that in a quiet and careful way cuz he knew that this was serious.

He doesn't crack a joke when they see the demise of the Primes and Sentinel's betrayal cuz he's also as shocked as the others. He's NOT an airhead, he's many things in this movie, but he isn't dumb. (also without him, legit nothing the movie was even possible, cuz he was the one who saved the SOS message of Alpha Trion and he was the one with the Energon cube... I'm just saying-)

Anyways, this was a great movie! If you haven't seen it (just spoiled urself mate lol) then please go watch it in the theaters if you are able to. It would be such a shame if this were to "flop" and we never got to see a sequel to this time line.

I Thank You: A Brief Account of Sonic’s No Good Terrible Very Bad Day (and Shadow’s even worse day)

@son1c’s sonic prime au has been jingling around my brain like a loose marble (especially the splinters of shadow), and this ask from @boom-fanfic-a-latta inspired me to actually sit down and write it :D

The first thing Shadow noticed was the noise.

It was hard not to notice it, honestly. The eerie silence of the Void was disconcerting, but this was something Shadow had never encountered before. This was an oppressive wall of sheer sound that filled the air and slammed into his ears the minute he entered the Boscage.

It knocked the wind out of him, and he sunk to his knees as he tried to regain his composure.

Dimly, he heard Sonic buzzing around him, jabbering about something. Shadow could only grit his teeth in response.

It’s so loud….How does Sonic not hear this?

He clapped a hand over his mouth in a desperate attempt to ground himself, to experience anything other than the oppressive sound. It didn’t work.

“Shadow? You alright?”

Shadow let out a shaky breath, and it took great effort for him to stop his ears from twitching. The last thing he needed was Sonic worrying about him.

“I’m fine. It’s just adjusting to a new Shatterverse.” Shadow forced himself to his feet. “Tell me about this world?”

Sonic didn’t look convinced, but didn’t press the issue. “The Bocage is entirely take over by huge plants. The forest floor is entirely inhospitable to life, and that means that—“

Plants. It couldn’t be.

Could it?

He felt a tear escape and leak down the side of his face. He was vaguely aware that Sonic, who had been staring at him with concern, had tracked that tear’s path with his eyes. But Shadow had bigger things to worry about. He, and probably he alone, could hear the Boscage.

And it was screaming.

It had been a few days. Some of the worst days of Shadow’s existence. Boscage Maze was a blur. The residents of the Boscage were a blur. The only thing that was clear was, paradoxically, the murmur of the forest. As it turns out, when billions of plants whisper in someone’s mind, it results in a cacophony, and the worst headache Shadow has ever had.

He was beginning to have trouble remembering why he was there, his goal in coming here, and even who he was. He just shuffled behind Sonic as they navigated the jungle.

Today, they were visiting….somewhere. Egg…something? Shadow couldn’t remember, but Tails was leading the way. Or, this Shatterverse’s Tails. His head hurt too much to care.

He was also didn’t care when he met Windthrow. A tiny voice at the back of his mind reminded him that, but for the Deafening Sounds, he would have been astounded.

A larger, stronger, and more feral Sonic. Would wonders ever cease.

Shadow was roused from his thoughts as they arrived at their destination. It was an unassuming structure, with vine tendrils snaking around, but generally well kept. As they walked through the entryway, he absently noted that the design reminded him of the Ark.

They stepped into the entryway, and the doors swung shut, leaving their little group in the quiet hallway.

And it was quiet. It was utterly silent.

He felt his shoulders sag in relief. He didn’t realize how awful the noise was. It didn’t even bother him that there was a slight buzzing from the overhead lights.

“Shadow, everything alright?” Sonic’s voice boomed in his ears. It hurt, and made his ears twitch, but he welcomed it.

Shadow nodded slowly. He still felt a little dazed, but it was a relief to be able to think clearly for the first time in what felt like forever.

Sonic was worried.

Well, he was worried about a lot of things. This was an extremely bad situation, and he was well aware that that was an understatement. But in particular, Sonic was worried about Shadow. He was acting more reclusive and irritable than usual. Which was saying something.

Whenever they were at the Egg Base, Shadow disappeared, even though Sonic looked everywhere in the building. And when they were outside, he acted distracted and upset. Every time Sonic asked him what was wrong, he would respond (in true Shadow fashion) with a snappish “Nothing”. But his constant ear twitching and eyes darting back and forth belied his distress. So did his muttering under his breath.

Sonic had decided not to continue pestering him. He instead focused all his attention and worry on finding the Shard.

The sooner we find it, the sooner I get Shadow out of here. The sooner I fix my stupid mistake.

Currently, they were in the Egg Base, and surprisingly, Shadow was hanging out with the group. Sonic was grateful to see that he looked relaxed, even if it was only a little bit. The weird dude who looked kind of like Eggman was showing off his latest creation, which was a metal version of Windthrow.

But as Metal Windthrow was powered on, Sonic was distracted by a faint gasp behind him. He turned and saw Shadow standing there completely rigid, chest heaving and eyes darting wildly. His ears wouldn’t stop twitching. He locked eyes with Sonic, before he fled the room.

Sonic got up to follow up, but stopped when he felt a large paw on his shoulder. Windthrow excitedly pointed at his metal counterpart, and threw back his head and howled. Metal Windthrow followed suit, and his rusty howl joined Windthrow’s. Sonic couldn’t help but smile fondly at what was soon to be a fast friendship. His smile fell as he turned and strode out of the room, determined to find Shadow.

He didn’t see Shadow for days after that, until one day Sonic entered the dining room. Shadow was standing at one of the tables, poring over the map that they had crudely drawn.

“Shadow! There you are! Are you alright? You disappeared! I’ve been looking everywhere for this Shard but haven’t found anything yet. Hey, what do you think—”Sonic’s nervous rambling was cut off by Shadow’s voice, which was uncharacteristically quiet.

“Sonic. Everything is okay. I just needed some to adjust to the Boscage Maze.” At this, Sonic frowned and opened his mouth, and closed it again. He sat down at the table, watching Shadow’s green eyes rake over the map. He looked—well, calm. But at the same time, he didn’t look well adjusted at all. He still had a dazed look, and there were heavy bags under his eyes.

“Are you sure? You can rest today, and we can go look tomorrow!” Shadow gave a small, fond smile, and Sonic felt his concern tie itself into knots in his stomach.

“We are fine, and in fact quite like being outside among the trees. It’s like coming home.” He turned and strode towards the door. “Let us go now and find Thorn Rose. Finding the Shard is our top priority.” Sonic pushed his worries aside. Shadow was right. The Shard was the most important thing.

Over the next couple of days, Shadow took charge of searching the Shard. He would stay out long after Sonic returned to the Egg Base for the night, and would even be gone before he woke up in the morning. He knew that Shadow was the Ultimate Loner, but he couldn’t shake the nagging feeling in the back of his mind. There was something that he couldn’t quite put his finger on, something he was missing. And it had everything to do with the strange way Shadow was acting.

Sonic burst into the clearing, almost crashing into Shadow in his excitement.

“Shadow, there you are! I have a good lead on the Shard! We can grab it and fit the prism back together! We’re one step closer to going home!” Shadow looked up sharply with a glint in his eyes that made Sonic uneasy. As quick as it had appeared, Shadow’s face had smoothed back into that same calm expression he had had for the past couple of days.

“That’s good to hear, Sonic. But we don’t need to rush things. The Boscage is truly wonderful. I’m glad to have been able to experience it. In fact, we are sorry for our past anger. You see, it wouldn’t have existed if you hadn’t shattered the Paradox Prism. So, how could I be angry? I thank you, Sonic the Hedgehog.”

I thank you.

Sonic’s blood ran cold.

Shadow…

He took a step towards who…or whatever was controlling Shadow. “Who are you! What have you done with Shadow!”

‘Shadow’ just smiled. “We are Shadow. It would be rude to ignore this gift you have sent us. You have granted us a way to communicate with you, and a way to protect the Boscage.”

Sonic’s shoulders slumped, his chin hitting his chest.

Shadow…what have I done to you?

Holy shit I love those designs so much. Tall boy Virgil with his blushy blushy blush, and Janus acting all suave and cool just to go home and scream into a pillow!! I love them so muchhhh!! Janus's snake bites really add to the rich boy rebel academic look, and Virgil's ripped jeans and spiky bracelets have him look exactly like the person that Janus's parents HATE.

Highlight of the day is when I was eating at a table with three friends and one of them said "Why would they warn against violence in PL3 ? Sure, people 'die' sometimes, but it's neither tragic nor violent." And I was sitting there grinning like an idiot thinking "She doesn't even know about the mecha", when the only other person who knew slowly raised her head to stare at me with the most TERRIFYING smirk I've ever seen. Full-on evil laugh too, like "Should we show her the video ?" "Oh we definitely should."

Little piece of advice- if you ever show a friend cutscene 29 of Unwound Future, make sure to do it in a crowded room <3 That way you'll get to truly enjoy the pain on their face when they're trying so hard to be quiet and then suddenly yell "Oh SH-"
