I was reluctant to change Stones eyes because his big brown eyes are his charm point(for me)... HOWEVER I gave him red eyes to match Ivos other 'tools' but also gave Ivo purple shades à la Xibalba/La Muerte from TBoL... 'They only have eyes for each other.'

Also I know Elves arent supposed to be able to grow facial hair but thats dumb. Tieflings werent supposed to be technicolor either but here we are... if we all elect to ignore it elves can have facial hair.

For those who's seen my other art, yeah, I'm well aware both my art style and coloration just straight up changes every time. I have come to accept the chaos, albeit still stubborn to try to make something stick.

The eyes were a very happy accident though, I was going to make them black and red but man- shading is my best friend, that's all I'm gonna say.

Honestly forgot to put the ruffles in the sketch, thus its not there. I was more than halfway done when I noticed and just accepted this is the design now. I'm not the biggest fan of drawing the ruffles regardless, so I might just make it part of the design I draw regularly. (I should workshop just a general design vs. doodle sheet uoghhh-)

And to those who've seen my rambles- I FIGURED IT OUT. I mean, it's obvious since I'm posting nowww, but I got the photos to transfer after a bunch of trial and error :)

what do you think about the fact that al likes doodling?

i have a head canon that he has some sort of scrapbook or sketchbook full of little doodles of things going on at the hotel and just in his life, I feel like he would draw really stick-figureish (is that a word?) but I read a fic that depicted it as the same art style as an Invader-Zim obsessed scene girl and I could not stop cackling.

I also feel like he would either guard it with his life from everyone (exception to Rosie, of course) or just not bother to tell anyone and one day they just find him doodling schoolgirl style, kicking his legs in the air, LMAO NEW THOUGHT WHAT IF CHARLIE OR LUCIFER FOUND IT

OH! OH! Now that you mentioned it - i LOVE that about him! I just absolutely ADORE little thing he made for the add in the first episode. And i love this fact because 1) he's the first character i like that likes to draw canonically (okay maybe also toothless from httyd?) 2) Me and Alastor share so many similarities, and even drawing???? This just makes me love him even more (i'm sure we would hate each other irl tho AHAHHAHAHA or maybe not, idk)

SO, SINCE ME AND AL ARE SO SIMILAR, I'M GONNA PROJECT ON HIM MY DRAWING HABITS >:3c Forgive me this one, i usualy don't do that, i usualy project characters on myself haha

He DOES have sketchbooks just to draw, and they are ORGANISED. He's numbers every sketchbook and counts every drawing in them since the first one. He also has two numbers for each page - through one sketchbook and through them all. He has over 300 of sketchbooks by now (I have less, only 56). They are stashed somewhere in a very safe place.

Every sketchbook has a date of first and last drawing. Also amount of drawings. It looks like: NOTEBOOK 253 (number of sketchbook, also he doesn't call them sketchbooks) 03.06.1978-05.07.1978 (dates while it was active) 119 (amount of drawings) 29961-30080 (which numbers of drawings are in this sketchbook) He would cound something else, but he's just too busy to spend time on it. He can remember something thinking about what he was drawing in that period and vice versa

He used to draw at overlords meetings, pissing off Carmila and everyone else, because it looked like he hadn't listened to them, so Carmila banned drawing at overlords meetings (Alastor is still angry about it)

But he doesn't progress too much - most of his progress was made through first 10-20 sketchbooks, now he only has slight style changes sometimes when he feels like it

Tho he's really proud of his current skill and used to think that he's literally the best (used to get angry when reminded that it's not true) (now he kinda knows, but still likes his own drawings, doesn't accept criticism and doesn't try to purposely improve)

He likes showing his drawings to people, he knows and if he does, you have to say that it's literally So Cool, show enthusiasm turning pages and say that everything is just amazing. If you don't, he'll be OFFENDED. He also can leave a sketchbook opened on a page with a drawing he likes the most, and it's like a sign "NOTICE THAT I'M DRAWING AND SAY THAT YOU LIKE IT"

If he considers you a friend (well not like Rosie, but at least like Charlie), he'll be showing you his drawings regularly (and you have to be enthusiastic about it!!!!!!) He has showed it to Charlie, but somehow her enthusiasm is... too much. She's too patronising about it. He also shows his things to Husk, he knows that Husk is annoyed and doesn't give a shit, and he just enjoys his annoyance. He also shows his drawings to Niffty and she gives him Just Right amount and vibe of enthusiasm. (He sometimes draws something for her fanfiction if he likes something enough and enjoys Niffty's reaction (she explodes from happiness)). BUT!!!!! He never shows anything to Mimzy. Because she's like, person from the real life, and he feels like she would laugh at it. To Rosie he shows only things he considers his best and her opinion is the most important to him. He can even forgive her criticism (wouldn't take it tho) (she never critisizes him and absolutely ADORES his drawings). Angel kinda likes his drawings, but isn't enthusiastic about them enough

He doesn't take requests (Angel tried "draw me like one of your french girls" shit, Alastor never did (also his ass did not get the reference and he was like "i dont??? have??? any french girls????")) (Vox also tried to make Alastor draw something for him, Alastor was just "that's interesting, i'll think about it" and never thought of it again)

SOME OF HIS DRWINGS TURNED OUT TO BE PROPHECIES but he notices that only when something happens and then he goes back to his old sketchbooks and accidentally finds it. They are just coincidenses tho, but it's fun and Alastor makes a big deal from it and screams to Rosie like "I PREDICTED THAT SHIT 27 YEARS AGO" when finds out. (it's how i predicted many plot points from SU and literally TOH hunter's possession before the show even was a thing JHJDFJHFGJFDHKH i wonder if i predicted something from Hazbin, i need to look through my sketchbooks now)

If you dare to mess with his drawings and vandalise them... oh... you better pray to whatever god you belive in to make your sufferings be enough to redeem your sins and go to heven.

He’s gonna think your so talented, whether you paint land scapes, abstract, flowers, people etc

And he’s absolutely going to fuel your painting

Whenever the batch are on a planet with a market, he’s gonna try and find new paints for you

Even some brushes too!

I Hc that as a cadet, Hunter would doodle in his free time, so he might get back into it whenever you paint

So, some times, whenever your painting, he’ll sit nearby and start to doodle. Just the two of you in comfortable silence as you each do your own thing

Echo

Like Hunter, he’s going to also look for paints and stuff to gift you whenever the batch are on a friendly planet

He’s gonna go for the truly expensive, nice stuff. I’m talking stuff made from diamonds or shells or something

I can see Echo sitting next to you as you paint. There’s something so relaxing about the movements the brush makes on a canvas

Keeps whatever you paint. Unless you want to sell it, in which case, he’s gonna help you do that. Make sure you aren’t underselling your work

“Echo, we need the credits” “not at that price. You worked on this for several rotations. It’s worth at least double.”

Fascinated by everything you paint and how you paint it.

He is amazed by every work of art, no matter the style or subject matter

Gonna ask you to paint him. If you do he’s keeping it forever. For years. It’ll be hung up on the Marauder.

He’ll also brag about you and your talent a lot.

“My Cyare? Most talented artist. You want to see their work? Of course I’ll show you!”

He might accidentally break a few of your paint brushes. They’re fragile to him and sometimes he forgets his own strength.

But don’t worry! He’ll find you nicer, stronger ones to use!

Tech

Working on stuff together? Working on stuff together.

He will want to work on his own projects while you paint. You guys just spend relaxed, quiet time together as you do your own things.

He honestly loves the sounds of you painting. The brush on canvas. Mixing paints. All of that.

He might try his hand at painting if you teach him. He knows he’ll never be as talented as you, but he’s a quick learner

Painting isn’t something he’ll particularly stick to though. He prefers his own projects, but he really enjoyed learning from you.

Crosshair

Not going to lie, he’s actually kind of interested in painting when he sees you paint for the first time.

He has the eye for detail, and the patience for it as well.

So, after a while of being together, he’ll sheepishly ask if he can paint with you too. Just to try it, of course!

Turns out you might have found him a new hobby he enjoys

Like his brothers, if he sees some quality paints or brushes, he’ll get them to gift them to you.

Sometimes he likes to play a little game and at the beginning of a new painting, he’s gonna try and guess what it is

He gets it right a lot of time, to be honest. Like I said, he has the eye for detail.

Hey there! (*waves*) Thank you so much for the love <3 I'd be happy to share some insights on the topics you mentioned! (Sorry that it took a while.)

I think I’ve been drawing for almost 20 years now (Whoa!). Honestly, I don’t even know how I made it through, but ever since I was a kid, I knew art was a necessary part of my life. Looking back now, I’m just glad I stuck with it!

This piece is like a visual timeline of my art evolution. It’s wild to think I went from those super basic kid doodles to the style I have now. Growth is real, y’all!

So the tips! (They are mainly for those hobbyist artists, since I don’t have the luck to make it as my career.)

Keep your eyes and mind open to learn from different fields. It’ll spark fresh ideas and enrich your art, but always double-check when diving into unfamiliar territory.

Find tutorials that vibe with you, and collect references IRL.

Use primary sources to avoid distorted or AI-altered refs.

Take your own photos as ref.

Use 3D websites like Sketchfab, Blender for 3D assistance, and posing apps or manikins to help with your art.

Practice consistently. Balance your time between quick sketches and more polished pieces.

Accept where you are now and improve from there. Don't let others' opinions or other artists’ activities throw you off your path.

If art’s your hobby, the goal is to have fun! No pressure to push boundaries unless you’re feeling it.

Let’s move to drawing process. I’ve been doing hand-drawn art for more than a decade, but had to fully switch to digital media after 2016. Now I usually use Procreate for sketches and lines, then use Clip Studio Paint and Photoshop for colors and adjustments.

I’m gonna share two sets of process. One is for generic character art, and the other one is for pieces influenced by environment.

So character art is like:

Do some (very) rough sketch to locate the characters → Line art

Define coloring section → Do flat basic colors, adjust the tone via gradient map, change line color

Add more details, use airbrush to shape the volume → Rendering (layer mode: multiply, linear burn)

More rendering (layer mode: screen, overlay, soft light) → Post effects

Done!

The next is art influenced by environment:

Make a color sketch to set the general tone → Line art

Flat basic colors (background & characters) → Darken the art (layer mode: multiply), add more details

Add more details and begin rendering → More rendering, lighten some parts (layer mode: screen)

More rendering, use gradient map to adjust the tone → Post effects

Opening Cutscene

Distant chatter from Prethinker and the Desk Jockey’s can be heard as the camera slowly zooms out from a blackboard that says “Warning: The Following Instance is Not Canon.”

Prethinker can be seen with Professor Pete (Toontown Schoolhouse guy) tied up in a chair.

Prethinker: I do not appreciate you and the Toon resistance trying to put an end to my plans.

Consider this payback for making my life more difficult!

I’ll still be taking these freebie Desk Jockeys for personal use, since you won't be needing them anymore now that you’re here!

Now where was I…?

Ah yes, I remember now.

Prethinker walks over to the blackboard and rubs out whatever was written on it, starting to doodle something on the board.

You see, the plan is simple.

Prethinker takes out one of those pointer sticks and taps the blackboard with it, which has an illustration of Buck and Dave forming High Roller.

I’ve been studying the art of Cog-fusion. A fascinating phenomenon that was showcased by Mr. Ruffler and Mr. Brubot a year ago.

How they achieved such a thing is still beyond my grasp, however the potential of fusion is nothing to scoff at.

Prethinker draws a doodle of himself on the board next to a plus symbol and a question mark.

If we combine the right Suits together, we could achieve something truly unstoppable for those Toons!

That’s where you Brianbots come in.

You will find me the perfect candidates to experiment with! A willing Suit won't come to me on a silver platter you know?

A quack could be heard which causes Prethinker to perk up.

…What was that noise?

The quacks grow louder until Duck Shuffler crashes through the wall Kool-aid man style. He rushes through the Desk Jockeys, causing them to tumble over like dominos.

Duck Shuffler: FRHIRFIUHRIWHFR!!!

The Desk Jockeys blow up, making that one Deltarune explosion noise as Duck Shuffler gets up from the ground.

WOWIE! Thith theemth familiar!

Prethinker looks at him outraged, his brain turning red.

Prethinker: YOU! What are YOU doing here?

That stunt you just pulled involving plowing through the wall was against every single law of physics!

Duck Shuffler: Lawth are merely thuggethtionth methinkth.

The smoke from the explosion clears up as it reveals Overthinker.

The Toons finally intervene as they approach the Overthinker.

The room seems to start getting cloaked in a purple hue as weird smoke starts to form from Overthinker’s chemical explosion.

Overthinker: YYYYEOWCH!!!!

Overthinker reels back from whatever the last attack used on him was.

You guyph really pack a punch! What’ph the d-d-deal with THAT???

I’m feeling- I’M FEELING, {phick} YOU’RE- You’ve knocked the BRAINPH OUTTA ME!!!

Overthinker starts to shake uncontrollably.

There’s a big explosion as Overthinker unfuses into Duck Shuffler and Prethinker again. The camera pans down to see the both of them in the Yamcha and Family guy death pose respectively.

The two of them get up from the ground.

Prethinker: Grr! Buck, this is all your fault! We could’ve beat them if you didn’t keep mixing unfamiliar chemicals together!

Duck Shuffler: Aww! But that wouldn’t be tho fun-

The Toons take a step closer to the two of them

Hello! I really love how you make your fantasy species look a good mix of "human" and "animal" looking. May I ask, if you're going to make a elf like fantasy race of lemurs, how would you go about it while keeping their Elfish traits?

I'm gonna go with a ring tailed lemur for this example, because they're fun.

when I use specific animals as a basis for fantasy people, I try to focus on their most unique and iconic traits. here, I'll definitely be keeping the striped tail and bright orange eyes, and I might give the lemur elves face paint to mimic the facial markings on the lemurs. I'll also be keeping the unusual foot shape.

now, if you just want like, an anthro lemur, you just apply some humanoid traits like bipedalism, expressive eyebrows, and clothing. a classic furry character. but if you're trying to make an elf out of a lemur, you need to know what people expect when they see the word "elf" and apply those details while retaining the unique lemur traits. This process, for me, usually just involves a lot of doodles! sketch things out until you're happy. it might look too much like a lemur at first, or too much like a human, and then of course you need to decide how much fur you want to add because more fur = less human-like, and a lack of fur might ruin the lemur details. also whether you want to add more human-like hair or just stick with the short fur.

here are my initial sketches for a lemur elf, and I think it helps that my own elf designs are already tailed primates, so I'm used to drawing elves with similar proportions!

you can kinda tell I'm not a Real Furry because I just can't nail that classic furry art style lol but the anthro lemur here still provides a useful comparison, I think. because there is a difference between an anthro animal design, a humanoid with animal traits, and a humanoid who may have evolved from a specific animal! maybe I'll make a short post about that sometime, with a little sliding scale between more animal and more human lol.

decided to do a lil joker!zam doodle to figure out how i wanna draw him. design yapping below the cut

i’m prob gonna stick with my phoenix zam hc for the most part for writing (and a fair few pieces). i’ve also decided to make joker!zam exactly One inch shorter than oath!zam bc that’s hilarious to me

some design things i decided on are giving zam a cloth mask that’s designed to look like a big ol grin so i don’t have to rip my nice, detailed style to shreds

he has 3” tall shoe soles. he did not have them during s5. he got insecure from oath!zam being taller than him

i’m torn between making him that lil bit taller than oath!zam in a cheap way (the platforms) or just making it so he’s 5’1 even WITH the 3” platforms (i hc oath!zam being 5’2 and i’m right for that)

i might change his crown to be sharper & spikier in the future bc i TRIED to do that here but kinda failed miserably and terribly

A little late for Trans Visibility day, but it gave me an excuse to finally finish drawing my personal Trans Apollo Concept!

Persephone, experimenting with long hair shaped in twin-tails going down her shoulders, similar to Lamiroir/Thalassa Gramarye: "What do you think of this style, Truce?" Trucy, in all caps: "WHY DO YOU LOOK LIKE MY MOM!?!?" Persephone: "What do u mean? I based this on Lamiroir's hair."

Persephone, talking to a hairdresser with a nametag saying "Harry", "This is the cut, Mr. Styles." The hairdresser looks at a paper handed to him showing a Terraria player character with a similar hairstyle as Percephone's final design.

Surprise! I am going to rant about my own redesign and art! I think this is me mentally preparing for the helluva boss episode next week and praying to god it’s actually good. I’ve also been nursing a bit of a hangover today so forgive me if my wording is a bit more jumbled than usual

Im a big fan of my Angel Dust redesign, but in the general aspect of my art, a lot of my poses are a bit flat. That can be from either posing issues on my end, trouble with facial features, or just some secret third thing, but I think so far Ive been enjoying drawing much more cartoonishly as of recent. That vox canon & headcanon drawing was super super fun to do even though it was supposed to be vivzies style, but I used to have a style with more sharp angles and pointy curves that I honestly kind of miss, I also miss playing with cartoonish proportions!!

My art style may end up changing eventually, but my main pieces will stay in my usual style and my more doodle-y ones will probably be in a more cartoony style like the ones above. While theyre definitely closer to canon and meant to be inspired as such, the difference is that I can draw diverse body types in said artstyle! I also cant lie, Angel’s chest fluff is one of my absolute favourite things to draw and it’s so easy in this style…

About my redesigns though! This is mostly about Angel, but I’m gonna slap this here from DMs with a friend: “Im so pleased with this genuinely im so happy he has his little pedipalps, theyre technically also still his fangs but now he can move them and stuff and :33 typically for male spiders the pedipalps are a reproductive organ but that isnt the case for angel or many other arachnid or insect sinners id say so I think personally most of them have developed pedipalps for primarily other reasons like fangs in Angels case or maybe something similar to cat whiskers for other people”

In my original angel dust redesigns I just couldn’t find a way to draw his fangs in a way that made me happy because I want to keeo the same energy in his face as the original. Big clunky fangs that stick out just didn’t work for him and while they made him look like a spider, he lost that sort of angel-ness that I need when drawing him so I instead looks to the pedipalp aspect of spiders to move them off of his mouth and more onto his cheeks. It’s a very small change but it improved the design in my eyes significantly and just really made me a lot happier. I wont be updating his redesign post as of right now and maybe never will, but if I do yknow why now!

I just really really like drawing this guy a bit rubbery, hes supposed to be fluffy so like he should move kinda soft in a way? I dunno how to explain it rn, its 2 AM at the time of writing this so im gonna lay the hell down now!

I did it. I posted a drawing a day and if I haven't I caught up and posted two/three the next.

I had 127 posts before I took my hiatus in 2022. I have 972 now. (rip the Adventure Time tags) I stopped drawing fandom related anything until 2024, so it's been a bit of a shaky start of getting my style cemented, but I'm happy with where it's settled. Thanks for 1.1k followers, thanks for sticking around, this experiment has been fun.

Okay, the mbav fandom is pretty dry, so I wanna request some headcanons for Ethan, Benny, and Rory with a fairy s/o. Like Winx Club style fairies who look like humans, but transform in a flash of light. I mean they have vampires, mummies, and sirens, so fairies aren’t too out of place.

note: sorry to do this to you but i don’t think i’m gonna write for ethan as a character just cuz he’s ugly to me anyway i hope this makes up for the fact that he’s not included

i think that rory is definitely a big ‘doodles in class kind of guy’ and sometimes he’d draw cute little stick figures of you and him and he was his fangs and you have your wings. you two have obvious built in halloween costumes so i think that because of that, you try to avoid being a vampire and a fairy for halloween, instead doing some cute couple costume like coraline and wybie or the other mother and the other father (can you tell i’m dressing as coraline for halloween lol). i feel like if someone touched your wings it would leave a tingly kind of shimmery feeling on their fingers and he would love it so much like he’d like stroke your wings to help you fall asleep. the two of you go on late night flys together and you always joke about how one day you’ll leave town in the night and fly away and save a fuckton of money on gas. but that will have to wait until you’re both out of high school, at least. in a modern au i think he definitely keeps getting you to do that ‘she was a fairy’ trend on tiktok and every time you just aren’t having it so he tries to catch you in the act of doing fairy stuff and record it on camera and you have to wrestle him over deleting the footage because you have a secret to keep.

there was an amount of time in your relationship with benny when he didn’t know about you and you were scared to tell him. you waited for a long time until it came out somehow and you were terrified of how he would react but he was just like ‘🤯🤯 that’s so freaking cool why didn’t you tell me sooner we could be magic buddies’ and then you have to go into a long conversation about how you’re not that kind of fairy, you can’t cast spells and you don’t have a wand but you do have wings and you have distant cousins telling rides at bridges and he’s a little confused but he’s nothing if not committed so he reads every single word etched into his grandma’s books on the topic of fairies and he learns everything there is to know about you. and sure, he could have just asked but somehow you like his commitment a little bit more. sometimes when you two get into an argument or he does something to irritate you he’ll just pour out a salt shaker and run knowing you’d be far behind by the time he barricades himself in his closet.
