There is no such thing as a fish and on Neptune it’s raining diamonds.

These are facts that make the absurdity of this big old universe more clear.

This could be a comfort to me. It should stop me from taking myself too serious. It should encourage me in embracing the fullness and mysteries of life INCLUDING myself. I want it to be my “prescription for hope”.

I’m not there yet. But I truly am trying.

I am not saying here's a link to a free online version of the 1984 graphic novel but if it was there you should probably go read it.

#i just finished it and i want a physical copy now it was so good #i remember i had struggled a bit with the original novel because it felt a bit slow and i think my translation wasn't the best #but this version is super powerful thanks to the illustrations #and since there's the visual support i feel like all the writing is even more punchy because it's really concentrated #so every page is a punch in the guts #if you loved the novel you should read this version and if you didn't like the novel you should read this version even more #great way to make a potentially scary classic more approachable #go read it #book #books #bookblr #booklr #1984 #george orwell #distopia #classics #politics #free books

“Grandmother is visiting,” Damian suddenly said with no warning and with his usual not-quite demanding tone.

“Who?” Tim wasn’t the only one to startle, seeing as Bruce had practically froze, a downturn to his lips in a silent show of confusion.

Damian scowled. “Are you deaf Drake? Grandmother is coming to Gotham to, quote, make sure I am being properly cared for.” None of them had known that Ras was with anyone actually. At least Tim was pretty sure that would have been in the files.

“Oh?” Dick didn’t quite crouch to Damian’s height but it was a near thing. “She-” “He,” Damian corrected, interrupting him. They all exchanged a glance before Dick continued.

“Is he coming to the Manor or…”

My comic is so pretty...

The hiatus is letting me take a little extra time on these episodes, and I'm definitely putting it to good use!!!

#almost done with my 8th episode... which will give me. two weeks. of buffer...#id really like at LEAST a month... but to be more comfortable id like two #which means 2-6 more episodes before I come back!#I've got about 7 weeks so its possible. but i do still have to finish book 4 #so much to do ..........#I decided for my next comic im doing 3 updates a month.#having 10 days instead of 7 to make an episode is such a huge huge huge difference...#difference in quality and in my health!#anyways the comic is really pretty im really happy with the work im doing rn #the environments especially. im getting to spend a nice amount of time on them and theyre turning out so nicely #its nice to be able to write with a lot of different environments and not have to redo panels when I get to them cause of time #cause every time theres a wild angle? you need a new background...#so sometimes. often actually. there just isnt the time to make the backgrounds for those and i have to make them more flat...#which is fine. it doesnt really affect anything narratively. but. idk. it's kinda sad right?#anyways yeah! 10 days will be much better.#36 episodes a year is about what ive been uploading with my hiatuses on the weekly schedule anyways!#so might as well cut out that super stressful middleman and just commit to that #52 a year is just such a huge difference and i have to accept its not possible to me #i will hurt myself trying to do that. and i want to make comics my whole life!#so i cant push myself that hard now and sacrifice my future. we're gonna go slower after this...#anyways yeah cant wait to come back but also time. if I could get an extra week like a secret one just for me #where theres no chores no nothin just me and my work #thatd be great! so go ahead and do what you gotta do to give me a little pocket dimension #me: ugh i want to return right now...#the more logical me: NO we need the time to finish everything!!!!!! the rage I feel when reading Blood of Olympus chapters 45-56 is almost equivalent in magnitude to the absolute joy I experience when reading The Last Olympian chapters 1-23.

remember when percabeth was good? when they meant the world to each other but had other people they cared about (nico, for one. both of them. so much), other worries and other storylines aside from their romantic plot? and when nico's completed arc wasn't repeated for no reason other than to dump more trauma on the youngest character in the series? when background characters were included in the story not for all the unnecessary last minute romantic subplots but because they were fun and fascinating to learn more about? and were actually friends with main characters? remember when grover was percy and annabeth's best friend forever? and antagonists were actually interesting and intimidating and had compelling goals? and the story revolved around friendship and family and loyalty? and death was definite and loss was palpable and battles were thrilling?

Howdy hello- guess who made a wings au :)

More to come with this eventually- I’m working on my designs for other characters at the moment, but for now we’ve got Red-Tailed Hawk for Curt and Eagle Owl for Owen.

For DMA I had Barn Owl wings because a) Barn Owls are beautiful and I wanted to draw the wings for them, and more importantly, b) Owen would probably want to disguise his wings, and it would make sense if it was as a different type of owl. I just assume he’d dye his feathers in some way or another. Look- just don’t think about it too much.

i just watched geek girl on netflix! i have some... criticism... but i actually really enjoyed it! very cute and has similar vibes to like angus, thongs and perfect snogging/bend it like beckham (which side note: both great movies directed by the same woman) but yeah! has the vibes of a 2000s british movie - combined with the under-rated use of a teen girl voice over!
