Sometimes a dream hands you a super interesting magic system. Don’t know why I started that sentence with the word sometimes.

They were called clacks. Came in different colours, but were all the same size. Rectangular, about the length of my hand from palm to fingertip but narrow enough I could hold multiple at a time.

There was a very specific art to arranging them to get them to do anything, from which colours you picked, to how many layers you built, to how you placed them. They were really finicky.

In my dream I was nobility, my father the king had married a cruel woman and she wanted me put to death so that she could inherit the throne. I didn’t blame her for this, but when she tried to take my clacks I got pissed as hell.

I built a spell that was both anti-scrying and that would make me invisible— about seven dark green clacks in the middle, and then six ivory clacks on either side. Two layers.

Another thing about spell casting through clacks was that there was no way to tell if the spell worked. For some spells it was more obvious, sure, but I didn’t realize that I fucked mine up until I got caught. Placed the invisibility clacks wrong.

I remember there was also degrees of power in clacks, depending on how well made they were. It was a point that whenever I was allowed to ask for a gift, I would ask for more clacks, because as royalty my every other need was provided for and the kind of clacks I was using cost a small fortune. I remember thinking trying to get every kind of clack at once would surely bankrupt the castle.

So it was kind of a big deal when I destroyed one.

I don’t remember how I did it, either. One moment I was being lectured for attempting to make off with my own clacks, the next I was holding a clack that was ghost white and transparent. It felt, texturally, like a bar of soap that had been left to soak. It felt like I was holding a star.

I woke up before I could discover the repercussions of breaking a clack, but boy am I glad the magic system decided to stay with me. What the hell.

and he wins. he wins because the universe says so. he doesn't deserve to win. he's lazy, and arrogant, and he thinks everything will just work out. you spend days-weeks-months-years trying to figure it out-- and then you see the footage. the most damning thing of all.

the chaos emeralds that he used to destroy you, to cast you down from heaven's gate-- he didn't even collect them all himself. he didn't even get half. he got one out of seven.

he couldn't even be BOTHERED to collect the emeralds himself. the victory he lords over you, the body he stole from you, the identity he stomped on and destroyed-- he couldn't be bothered. the world you were going to make was stolen away by sheer happenstance, because other people did his work for him. because he couldn't be fucking bothered to try.

Lawful Evil Large Ooze

These excessively cruel creatures hail not from the Darklands or any strange plane in the Outer Sphere, but from within the universe itself. Arriving in ships designed for their protoplasmic forms, Thorgoglbltr-- I'm just going to shorten it to Thorgo. Arriving in ships from beyond the stars, Thorgos are a species of beings who consider themselves both advanced and enlightened enough that they know what's best for all life in the universe, and what's best is being really, really stupid. That's a dramatic oversimplification of their goals, but the slightly-more-complex-but-still-short-version is that Thorgos consider sapience to be a naturally self-destructive phenomenon, and that any species which evolves sapience is sure to bring ruin to not only itself, but its whole world.

Of course, rather than simply devolving themselves to senseless protoplasm and living out the rest of their existence in atavistic peace, they harness their intelligence to build starships to cruise out into the universe, because they simply have to inflict their vision of "peace" on every species they encounter, whether or not said species desires or even moderately agrees with the Thorgos' assessment. They're explicitly noted to have the technology and knowhow to perform downright miracles, their ability to perfectly manipulate the genetic structure of any lifeform they encounter after just a few short minutes of study--something which takes scientists in our world decades in carefully controlled laboratories--granting them the potential to eradicate any disease, repair any genetic deformity or defect, heal any wound, and effectively solve any problem that could be solved with a specialized lifeform... but in a similar vein to a certain other mad geneticist, Thorgos don't want to do any of that boring "make better societies" stuff, they want to remove sapience from every species in existence. Every other species first, naturally.

To this end, Thorgos have Atavistic Manipulation, a dangerous ability that's attached to their two slam attacks which themselves are stapled to the ends of pseudopods with a 20ft threat radius (10ft space/10ft reach). Not only do they deal 1d6+6 damage each, but more alarmingly they cause the targets to bleed Intelligence, something we've only seen once before on creatures with similar goals to the Thorgo. Unless the victim receives a DC 15 Heal check or some form of magical healing, they lose 1 point of Intelligence every round until they're rendered completely comatose as the protoplasm of the Thorgo invades their body and overrides their mind. Furthermore, if a Thorgo spends an hour tinkering with a creature's biology after the victim falls unconscious, the atavistic alien can cause the Intelligence damage to become permanent, setting the victim's max Int to 1 and requiring Heal, Limited Wish, Wish, or Miracle to undo.

And if you think what they can do in the field with their own two pseudopods is scary, it gets so much worse when they start hauling people back to their ships for more intense experimentation, up to and including making the atavistic regressions hereditary. If a species evolved sapience once, it stands to reason it may do so again; they have to be thorough if they want to make sure a world 'blessed' by their presence stays blessed.

But! We're not talking about their labs or other tools right now, we're talking about a basic scout/scientist. Every Thorgo comes equipped with that skeletal doohickey you see in their center, a generator that feeds the slime the electricity it needs to survive (which is why they're immune to Electricity, among other things) AND projects a powerful Force Field, the slime shielded from every angle by a shell of 40 hitpoints that recharges by 10 each round so long as it's got at least 1 hitpoint left in it. Unlike the Robots whose Force Fields require an entire day to recharge if they go offline, the Thorgo's advanced fields can be repaired in a single full-round action and a successful Disable Device check (which they have a +8 to) against a DC of 15... and they need to, because their bodies swiftly and dramatically break down in the presence of most atmospheres, including Golarion's own.

A Thorgo without its field loses 1d4 Con every single round until it gets the doohickey up and running again, putting a harsh time limit on how long it can stick around to fight... but because it's limited to a 20ft movespeed and no methods of swift egress, a Thorgo without its field will likely have to swiftly dispatch its foes to give itself the time it needs to get its field active! Good thing that its Poisonous Sublimation is a double-edged sword! The gas a Thorgo breaks down into when it's exposed to hostile atmospheres is violently poisonous, filling a 20ft cloud with lethal vapors that instantly kill any creature with 6 or less Hit Dice if they fail a DC 17 Fortitude save, which must be made every round one stays exposed to it. Creatures with more than 6 Hit Dice don't fare much better, losing 1d6 Con each time they fail their save! A DM wishing to use a Thorgo as a boss fight against a 5th~6th level party may want to reconsider the encounter, or at least weaken the poison, because managing to break through the thing's first layer of defense only to suddenly lose half the party to the resulting gas cloud will likely not go over well on the table.

While their shield stays up, Thorgos are still dangerous. They can subtract 5 HP from their shield at any time to launch a Force Ray, a touch attack dealing 10d6 Force damage to its target, making this a literal case of 'damned if you do, damned if you don't.' Hopefully the party has some method of petrifying the thing, because little else will work; attacking its HP directly will inevitably break the shield and unleash the Baby Cloudkill, but there's almost nothing else that can be done thanks to its pile of immunities. Thorgos are immune to Electricity and Cold and have 10 Acid Resistance, and despite being a sapient Ooze they retain the Ooze's normal immunity to all mind-affecting effects. They also can't be poisoned, put to sleep, paralyzed, polymorphed, or stunned, and you can't really effectively burst them down to avoid multiple rounds of the poison cloud unless you're a Vital Strike Enjoyer with some exotic two-handed weapon hitting them and them backing away, because they're also immune to critical hits and ALL forms of precision damage besides.

At least Fire and/or ranged attacks still work! Shattering their shield means they can no longer use their fierce ranged attack, letting a ranged party plink the slow-moving slime down with little issue. Just mind the reach, and try not to send the 6 Int Barbarian in for longer than absolutely necessary.

Chapter Sixty-Two: A Little Too Loud, A Little Too Loved

After the storm of sass, sea-dunking, and magical hijinks, the Sunny finally hit a lull. Not the boring kind—no, the warm kind. The kind where everyone moved a little slower, a little softer. The kind of day where the sun kissed your shoulders instead of trying to kill you.

And something in your chest felt… full. Heavier, in a way that wasn’t bad. Like warmth taking up space. Like a family you didn’t know you’d needed so badly.

Like love. Stupid, chaotic, found-family love.

You woke up late, groggy and tangled in your blanket. And Chopper was curled up on your stomach like a sleepy plush toy, snoring gently.

You stared at him. Then slowly, gently, pet his little fuzzy head.

He shifted in his sleep and mumbled, “You’re warm like the sun.”

Your heart physically clutched.

You were gonna keep him. Forever.

Downstairs, Robin had already set tea out for both of you. She nodded toward the extra cup as you entered, Chopper still clinging to your back.

“I figured you might need something calming,” she said. “You look a little overwhelmed.”

You blinked at her. “…I love you.”

She smiled serenely. “Of course you do.”

Later, you found Usopp on the deck building a ridiculous contraption to “harness the mark’s power and possibly launch seaweed at enemies.”

You squinted. “Is it powered by sass?”

“It’s powered by hope and reckless ambition!”

Nami passed by with a clipboard, looked at the blueprint, and said, “Make sure it can also dispense snacks. I want a button that gives me cookies.”

You watched the two of them bicker over design notes, covered in grease and paper scraps, and something about it hit you right in the feelings. You joined in without thinking— and an hour later, the three of you had built a machine that didn’t work, but made an excellent espresso.

Usopp raised his mug. “We might be dumb, but we’re caffeinated.”

You clinked cups with him and Nami. “We’re thriving.”

Sanji refused to let you lift anything heavier than a teacup that day. Not because you were injured. But because he felt like it.

“You’ve fought gods, sea beasts, and emotional repression,” he said dramatically. “Today, you lift nothing but your spirits.”

You stared at him. “That was poetic. Are you okay?”

He just handed you a plate of little pastries—shaped like stars and cats—and smiled without flirting. Just… gentle. Quiet. Sweet.

And for once, you didn’t tease him. You just ate them beside him on the deck, shoulder to shoulder, watching clouds.

You didn't need to say anything. It was already understood.

You sat alone at the bow, watching the sky bleed orange and pink.

Zoro plopped down next to you, didn’t say a word, just passed you a water bottle and a piece of dried fruit.

“You good?” he asked after a long pause.

You nodded. “Yeah. Just… thinking.”

Another beat of silence.

“…You’re not gonna cry, are you?”

You snorted. “No. Just feeling grateful and weirdly squishy inside.”

Zoro hummed. “Gross.” Then leaned back beside you with a content sigh.

But a moment later, you felt his pinky hook gently with yours. Like it wasn’t a big deal. Like he wasn’t making sure you knew—in the quiet way only he could—that he liked having you here.

You didn’t say anything. You just squeezed his pinky. And your heart went stupid.

Luffy found you later, sprawled on the top deck under the stars, arms flopped out wide like you were trying to hug the sky.

He dropped down beside you and copied your pose.

“Comfy?” he asked.

“Mmhmm.”

He was quiet for a second. Then said, “We’re your family now, huh?”

You turned your head to look at him. Big grin. No pressure. Just knowing.

You swallowed. “Yeah. I think you are.”

Luffy beamed. “Cool. You’re ours too.”

You rolled over, hiding your face. “Ugh. I like you guys.”

“GOOD,” Luffy yelled, throwing an arm over your shoulder. “WE LIKE YOU BACK.”

You laid there for a while, wrapped in a blanket, wrapped in warmth, wrapped in love.

You’d been tossed in oceans, hit by ancient magic, cursed (probably), and humiliated at least once per day— but none of that mattered.

Because here, on this floating madhouse with the best idiots you’d ever met— You belonged.

And yeah. You kinda loved them. Like… a lot.

Your mark had stopped glowing randomly. That didn’t make it less weird. Just… quieter. And somehow, that was worse.

Robin was the first to bring it up over breakfast. "Magic that changes behavior often adapts over time. It may be growing with you."

Chopper, wide-eyed, added, "Or it’s waiting for a trigger!"

You blinked at both of them. “...Great. So either I’m evolving, or I’m a ticking magical time bomb.” You sipped your juice. “Super casual.”

Which is how you all agreed (read: Nami insisted) to visit a certain someone on the next island. An old woman known by locals as “The Sea Witch.” Eccentric. Brilliant. Probably cursed six times over. Perfect.

The island was muggy, moss-covered, and looked like the backdrop of a haunted bedtime story. The townsfolk were friendly enough—until you mentioned the witch.

“She lives in the swamp,” one man muttered, making the sign of the cross with his fingers. “She sees through lies,” said another. “She tried to marry my cousin,” said a third.

You blinked. “She sounds awesome.”

Zoro grumbled. “You would like her.”

Nami waved a hand. “Just don’t flirt with her. We’re here for intel, not another accidental engagement.”

You held up your hands. “No promises.”

Her hut was deep in the swamp, surrounded by crooked trees and glowing mushrooms. You were pretty sure the air itself whispered things at you. Usopp was clinging to Chopper. Sanji was swatting bugs with his towel. Luffy was picking mushrooms. Zoro was regretting every life decision.

You knocked.

The door creaked open on its own. Naturally. Of course.

And there she was.

A tiny woman, barely up to your chest, hair white and wild, skin like wrinkled bark. Her eyes, though—sharp. Glinting. Wiser than the sea and twice as tired.

She looked at you for two full seconds. Then pointed. “You. In. Now.”

You blinked. “…Why does this keep happening to me?”

You sat cross-legged on a woven rug while the rest of the crew peeked in from the windows like nosy children.

The witch poked at your arm with a wooden stick. Grunted. Poured something foul-smelling over the mark. Watched it hiss.

You didn’t scream. You made a sound. A dignified one. A war cry. Robin later described it as “a strangled giggle-snort.”

The witch cackled. “Yup. Cursed. Gifted. Both. Something’s bound to you.”

You stared at her. “...Can you be more specific?”

She nodded sagely. “Nope.”

You blinked. “That’s—why we’re here.”

She poured more foul potion into a cup and handed it to you. “Drink.”

You looked at it. Then at her. Then at the window, where Nami mouthed DON’T. Sanji was giving you a thumbs-up. Zoro shrugged. Luffy waved.

You sighed. Bottoms up.

You weren’t sure when you passed out, but suddenly you were floating in a deep black sea. Above you, stars. Below you, a shifting reflection of yourself—glowing mark and all.

The reflection looked up and smiled. “You’re not ready yet,” it said, voice echoing in your bones. “But you will be.”

“Ready for what?” you called.

No answer. Only light. And warmth. And the unmistakable feeling of something watching. Waiting. Loving.

You woke up flat on the floor with your legs over a stool and Zoro poking your forehead.

“She alive?” he asked.

You smacked his hand away. “I was having a moment.”

The witch grinned at you from the corner, sipping tea made of probably nightmares and seaweed.

“You’re tethered to something powerful. Ancient. It chose you. Probably because you’re stubborn.”

You sat up slowly. “So… it’s not gonna kill me?”

She shrugged. “Only if you’re boring.”

Luffy gasped. “YOU’LL NEVER DIE THEN!”

You grinned, dazed. “I kinda love that for me.”

The crew walked in silence through the darkened forest. Your tattoo was glowing faintly—calm.

“So,” Nami said slowly, “you’re a magical chaos beacon now?”

You nodded. “Yup.”

Zoro grunted. “Again: not surprised.”

Robin smiled. “Whatever it is, it’s bonded to you. That means it’ll grow with you.”

Sanji fell into step beside you. “As long as it doesn’t steal your soul. That’s my job.”

You choked. Chopper high-fived him.

And you just looked down at your arm, glowing faintly in the moonlight. Mysterious. Powerful.

Stormcallers: While most wind manipulation is gentle, some have the ability to call upon the fiercest storms. These individuals, known as Stormcallers, are both feared and respected, for they hold the power of destruction in their hands. Their role is to protect the court during times of war or crisis.

Healing Winds: The Zephyr Court also has a long tradition of wind healers, who can use the breath of the wind to cure ailments and injuries. It’s said that these healers can channel the wind’s vitality into the bodies of the sick, restoring them to health. The Temple of Winds houses many of these healers, who are sought out from across the realm.

A true warrior is one who seeks peace.

5. Freedom of Spirit: The winds are free, and so too should the people be. The Zephyr Court believes strongly in personal freedom—freedom of speech, freedom to love, and freedom to follow one’s own path. Arranged marriages, for instance, are rare, as the court believes that love should flow naturally, like the wind.

The Sorrowful Drought: However, their prosperity was not without its challenges. Over 500 years ago, the Zephyr Court experienced the Sorrowful Drought, a 20-year period where no rain fell, and the oases began to dry up. During this time, many of their neighboring courts turned to war and conquest, while the Zephyr Court struggled to survive. This era of hardship is remembered in their culture as a time when the court had to rely on their spiritual strength more than ever.

The War of the Sands: After the drought ended, the court was attacked by a coalition of rival courts, jealous of the Zephyr Court’s recovery and wealth. The War of the Sands was a brutal conflict, but the Zephyr Court ultimately emerged victorious due to their superior knowledge of the desert and the powers of their Stormcallers. This victory solidified their status as one of the most powerful courts in the realm, but the scars of the war still linger in their culture.

Festivals and Celebrations

1. Rih al-Tahara (The Wind of Purity): As previously mentioned, this is the most sacred festival of the court. During this week-long event, citizens purify themselves spiritually and physically, offering poems and prayers to the wind. It's also a time for community, where families come together to renew bonds and offer forgiveness for past grievances.

2. Laylat al-Riyah (Night of the Winds): On the longest night of the year, the people gather under the stars to celebrate the Laylat al-Riyah. This is a night of storytelling, where elders share the ancient tales of the court’s founding and its heroes. The wind is believed to be especially active on this night, and many people claim to hear the whispers of long-lost ancestors.

3. Nasira’s Ascension: On this day, the court remembers the ascension of Al-Nasira to the heavens. It is a day of feasting, music, and wind dancing, where the people celebrate the life and legacy of their founder. The festival ends with a grand procession to the Temple of Winds, where offerings of incense and flowers are given to the goddess.

Roleplay Ramblings: Alien Anatomy and Equipment part 4

Magic

While different technologies may vary between different species and cultures, one thing that is probably universal to most species is magic, because even if a species lacks access to resources to develop a certain tech, they can no doubt study the multifarious aspects of magic and find ways to harness it. (I mean yes, some cultures might never discover how to manipulate magic or might be incapable of harnessing the power, but those are outliers)

So surely with such a near-universal aspect of the universe, surely magic is handled in the same way regardless of anatomy… right? Right?

In all seriousness, today’s subject is mostly about magic items, but alien anatomy definitely is a big factor in how certain species would study and develop spells.

Consider Astrazoans and other shapeshifting species. They would have little desire to innovate into magical disguises or polymorphing spells save for those that provide powerful battle forms.

Additionally, Astrazoans and those that drastically change not just appearance but body structure would favor magical items that can be imbedded as body modifications or can magically resize or reshape to accommodate their various choices in forms. Meanwhile, some species like the hanakan might use magic almost exclusively, coming up with magical solutions to most problems and doing without for others. For example, it might be difficult to download the app for Galactic Conquest if your personal comm unit is rudimentary or doesn’t exist.

A Novian technically doesn’t wear or carry equipment in the tradition sense, these tiny miniature stars instead carrying all their gear in orbit around themselves thanks to their miniature gravity well. Despite being such rare beings, Novians that build their own equipment likely wouldn’t bother designing it to be “worn” or carried (beyond armor of course). Indeed, their magical equipment might all resemble aeon stones in function if not material.

Also consider that aquatic and amphibious species like scyphozoans likely never invented water breathing magic on their homeworld, only encountering it on the galactic stage. Additionally, their magic items might be worn in very different ways and be made of different materials due to their aquatic nature.

Meanwhile, Sentient Robotic Organisms, or SROs and other similar synthetic life forms have no set body plan, and as such might vary between using what equipment fits their frame even haphazardly and instead choosing to integrate found or designed magical items into their own bodies like components.

Tiny Library: Modern Fantasy Live on Gamefound

I have a game in the latest project in the Tiny Library series which is now crowdfunding on Gamefound.

Tiny Library: Modern Fantasy is a collection of 51 MOSAIC Strict cards from 51 different designers that could be combined together to build a modern fantasy ttrpg.

My card in the deck called Multi-Level Magic, which provides rules for buying into a magical MLM and passing that curse on to others to enhance your own magical potential. Like real life MLMs, the lofty promises of the card will remain unfulfilled for most. You can check it out here.

What Is MOSAIC Strict?

MOSAIC Strict is a design constraint. I'm just going to talk about the basics and what a consumer would need to know. If you want the full explanation, check it out here.

Basically, MOSAIC Strict texts present a single rule, system, or concept. They are not full games by themselves and they make no assumptions about the rest of the game they might be slotted into. They might be able to be combined with other MOSAIC Strict texts, other games, or whatever rules players come up with. Players can take or leave them depending on how they fit into the play experience they want.

Now, is it possible to form a cohesive game from some combination of some of the 51 cards in TL:MF? I honestly don't know, but with 51 different systems and bits of lore, I'm confident you can get pretty close. That's also, absolutely, not the only way to engage with these cards. You can use them however you want. Bring a favorite to your dragon game session. Use the cards as pretty decorations for something of your own creation. Use them solely as inspiration for stories of your own telling.

What I can say, is the cards offer a wide range of visual styles, tones, and concepts. They are inventive, intriguing, and striking (especially all spread out in front of you).

Personal Favorites

No Words, Save Death is a beautiful, wordless death save mechanic. The mechanic itself is communicated effectively through evocative imagery.

Arcane Underground imagines magic in utilities waiting to bestow power and consequences on any who harness it. It looks good, and I can immediately imagine how it will come up in a game.

Trash Companion gives you a shape-shifting animal companion. It shifts between a raccoon and a pigeon, each with upsides and downsides. I don't know who would play with these cards and not include this one. It's delightful.

Why IS Aztec blue??? Or is it just a design choice?

Please talk about him more I love him

I'm so glad you asked, buckle up Source of ask The short answer is that he already had grey bones. But, after he died, he spent a lot of time in the underworld with Zorro and their undead pirate crew. The elongated time in the underworld stained his bones and he turned a much darker blue/grey

The thing about Necromancy is that it almost completely consumes the object that the magic is being channeled into (a corpse, a weapon, etc) and often turns said object grey, black or dark blues or purples. Most necromancers have grey bones because the skeleton is what grounds the mage to the living world when they're using death magic. It's the most solid thing in their body. So when Necromancers harness their Makar, it flows through their bones before it flows through/into anything else; thus prolonged use or simply living a really long time + moderate use of death magic = grey bones. Aztec is a different case though. He died fairly young, and so his bones would only be a really light grey. His bones are stained because after he died, he joined Zorro and his mostly-undead crew of pirates in the underworld. Since the underworld is so soaked in death magic, simply existing in the underworld for long periods of time starts to kill living things and dampen their color. The average mage can only spend a day or so in the underworld before they either die, lose access to their magic, or both. Like anything else, prolonged exposure builds a tolerance, but it's still realllly not good for your health to be down there. Zorro practically raised Jason, and he can only spend three days down there before his fingers start to turn grey and lose feeling. But, since Aztec is already dead and has no magic to lose, he's good to go robin-hood around the underworld to his hearts content. He spent a few hundred years in the underworld before he decided to try something else, and came out with very dark bones. I drew them pretty light to how I imagine them bc I didn't want someone to see his character sheet for the first time n be like 'are his bones black bc he's black? That's Racist!' bc if someone gets upset about my Alice having brown hair when its canonically blonde idk whats going to show up in my ask box xD (But I love getting asks like this ty) Here is a scrappy example of pre-death Aztec using his cool powers, featuring Necromancy staining hosts

Whenever I get to a new server I have a completely new skin, it's cause I like to come up with little stories/ characters/ concepts for it!

(With Haruven seasons lore, there are 2 lores. First one is the connecting lore from Season 1, the second is new characters each season with new lore)

Avatar:

Lyra is a Water Bender whose travelled to different towns/sanctuaries to improve their abilities. They struggle with bending - specificly in combat, they learned the hard way. However, this end up effecting Lyras' bending overall and they're worried they're losing the ability to bend all together.

Block Shift:

Ruthvik was a great redstone engineer but was struggling to get their new invention working, they seemed stuck, unable to figure out what was missing for months.

One day she was approached by a God/Spirit, claiming they were of Creation and wanted to help. Desperate, Ruthvik made a deal with the entity, allowing them to help with her creation and they would be free to build wherever in her world.

The god screwed them over. They were actually the God of Chaos and now  nothing can be properly built again.

Word got out about the deal Ruthvik made and they are constantly shunned by society for what they had done.

Essempi (Erets Sub-Server):

Yavai lived in The End for most of their life.

They have severe social anxiety and don't like interacting with people much, so they keep to themselves. However they did like to explore.

Wander the islands of The End, exploring abandoned ships and finding books on the world's around them.

They loved to learn about the Overworld, such a strange and interesting place. The End Ship are designed to travel back and forth between worlds by using a group of Enders teleporting powers to transport the ship. However Yavais' teleportation powers are very weak - they're lucky when they get to the top of an End City Tower. Yavai probably wouldn't be able to be near other crew members anyway, so they never bothered to apply for a Ship.

One day, Yavai found an old book, telling the story of an adventurer who played the Dragon - The Ends Tyrant - and the Universe granted them a way back home via a portal. That portal is still there.

Yavai built up the courage and ventured to The Centre Island and sure enough, the portal was still there.

Taking a literal leap of faith, they jumped through the portal and landed in the Overworld.

It was extremely overwhelming at first but when Yavai saw the beauty of the world, they decided to stay.

Free Souls (Mels Server:)

Myca has dedicated his life to the studies of - in summary - Life and the afterlife. Souls, gods and gods magic, the bridge between life and death and the tombstone keys that follow.

Haruven SMP:

Haru met Arion, a God of Creation.

The two grew close and eventually fell in love. Their love was so strong that Arion shared a small part of her power with them.

Soon, they were set to be married.

Before their happy day could be planned, Arion left and Haru waited for them to come back. And waited and waited and waited.

Worried for them Haru set off to go and find her, traversing the lands, searching through anything they can.

They found a few scrolls that allowed people to harness elememtal power learned by spirits.

Haru learned the technique of Water and learned quickly.

During their time there, they worked on an allium field, a place he and Arion could be when/if she returned.

She still didn't.

Haru was later approached by a God of Chaos, promising to tell them where Arion was in exchange for the small bit of power that she gave them.

Desperate, Haru agreed, but the plan backfired.

The small part of Creation mixed with Chaos, just caused a splatter of nonsense.

Haru is still trying to find their love, but now with spikes of Chaos around.

Thread of Species Features

-if you don't know, hi I'm working on a fantasy type game called Witch Tuition, this thread is mostly to set in world building on my notable fantasy race features. Also all of these designs i will be using one way or another for my game, so im treating them like ocs lol

-dwarves, orcs and other such wont be here if they wont differ from standard fantasy

First up is the human race - the Atlans! Created by the god of magic that holds up the world Atlas As an example is the Dealer Yvonne, her purplish tinge is due to her practically hotboxing herself with potion fumes, incense, smoking and other stuff -making her poison resistant

The adaptability works similar to vaccines so an exaggerated scenario would be like: if you just drop an Atlan not adjusted to a frozen tundra, they'll freeze to death. But if they're conditioned to the environment for a few months or so, then they can walk out in summer clothes

Next are Elves! I'm open to adding more, these are the most frequent. In Order Left-Right there's: Light/Dark/Nature I'll continue in their own tweet but generally, Light Elves hail a nobility of scrying glyphs, Dark Elves live more hedonic and have cave parties, Nature is Nature

Light Elves were always the most connected to magic due to they're fey ancestry, yet the creation of telescopes by the dwarves propelled them into nobility. it allowed them to scribe constellations onto glyphs and runes, teaching other races to properly harness magic and riches

Elf and Dwarven relations greatly deteriorated after the production of telescopes, dwarves responsible for the creation did not see a modicum of the credit for the creation by the light elves. The dark elves invade the mountain and underground spaces. and nature elves are neutral

Originally light elves, they transform through a ritualistic scorching after the discovery of eldritch beings beyond the constellations This discovery led them to be influenced by the beings, so as their own society, they decided to live more for themselves and party a lot

Dark elves within their own civilizations are pretty open to other races Despite light elves looking down on them, dark elves don't hold malice, as it would transfer to their own children. They also don't force the ritual on their kids, most do just choose to undergo it

Nature elves live more secluded societies after finding primordial magics, some of which transition to druids The first druids were the fae creatures attuning to the chaotic lands of the fae, the rituals to become one very much depend on the planet’s primordial magics

All fae creatures have a unique inner flame that connects them to the fae, which is why fae creatures live longer, especially when within said realm. The primordial magic that allows nature elves to attune to nature, instills elves to view beyond themselves, hence the androgyny

-to reiterate these are just common of their societies, but a nature elf can be rugged and not that, light elf can be down to earth n such also the ears are definite

3rd are Daemen! They are the cursed firstborn to those who either make deals with devils or slay powerful demons. The curse is meant to keep their mark on the mortal world so they still have a connection to return Here is a rival concept for the example

Here's the patterns of each domain, realistically it could be any demon powerful enough to cast a curse or devil lucky enough for a contract these examples are the most common of their domain's strongest demons. I also didn't forget her tail it's just not visible

realistically also, the demon invasions could be ended completely if after a few years nobody makes devilish contracts and adventurers who kill demon generals just don't settle down, but that's why it hasn't they gotta play cheap, you always lose something against the demons

Part of the Hybrids are the humanoid Animal Race, they take on physically any of the animal aspects they inhibit

animal human hybrid type of people would still be classified under a hybrid, tho they are exceptionally rare since, most don't want to marry animal hybrids

Elemental Hybrids (Hybrid is more of an umbrella grouping) share ancestry with primal fae spirits of the land

Water and Fire elements can control their temperatures and become amorphous at will outside of cold environments

Air and Earth elements can bend air and earth with ease

Finally Half Giants! Descendances of actual giants who live more nomadically. Half Giants collectively live in harsh environments, born with birth markings said to be their individual destinies
