“Min…?” You whined, rubbing your face into the crook of your arms as you heard quiet creaks across the floorboards.
It was dead silent, aside from the occasional rustling, a warm hand reaching out to run itself through your hair. His fingers scratched your scalp, and you sighed. You could hear Pickles meowing, and you could imagine him pawing at Minho right now, begging for some of his attention as well.
“What are you doing on the floor baby?”
You curled up, bringing your arms up to shield your face as you felt him lean over you, tie dangling over your cheek. Pickles was now poking you, trying to dig into your sides.
“Aww, you’re awfully tired, did all that overthinking finally tire you out?” He huffed, crouching right next to you as you watched him through glossy eyes, hands leaving your head.
“What time is it?”
“It’s four minutes after twelve, I think.”
You jolted up, adrenaline suddenly running through your body, head colliding with his outreached hand. Forcing your head to turn to the clock that hung on the wall, you blearily looked for the confirmation of what he had said. Pickles looked at the both of you, slipping onto your lap in an attempt for some form of cuddles..
You suddenly felt cold on the floor as you read the numbers the hands pointed to, pushing yourself up into a sitting position. Guilt washed over you, the realization of unfinished chores waiting to be finished hitting you.
“Oh god, Minho- I’m so sorry, i must have lost track time playing with Pickles, and you know how its been with the whole apartment as of late-”
“You’re doing it again.”
You stopped speeding through your thoughts, stomach dropping as you looked at him.
He was just as beautiful, if not a little disheveled. His coat had been long abandoned, now wearing a white dress shirt, sleeves rolled up. His hair stuck out in all sorts of directions, but the little glimmer in his eyes hadn’t been lost to the tiring office environment of his life.
“I’m doing what?”
“Rambling.”
The heat rose in your cheeks, and you looked down at the wooden floors, mapping out where you had previously been a couple moments.
“Y/n. Baby?”
You finally looked up, scooting closer into his vicinity.
“It’s cute when you do it,” He yawned, kneeling next to you, “act all worried. You don’t need to be apologizing because you didn't do anything wrong.” He pursed his lips, offering a hand to gently pull you closer to him.
“What do you wanna ask me baby? I can tell you have something to say,” He teased. You cleared your throat. “Why were you so late? I thought you’d be coming home early today.’
“I would’ve come home sooner, but Chan-hyung wanted me to stay back for something, then the bus got late so I had to take a taxi home.” He sighed and frowned, running his hand up and down your back as he held you close to him. Pickles climbed into his lap, purring as Minho finally pet him.
“Sounds like you had quite the day. You whispered, muffled as you were pressed up against him, hand on his chest, “more so than me.”
"Yeah, it was a bit hectic," He admitted with a small chuckle,"but it was all worth it to come back home to you, and you too, Pickles."  Pickles meowed, as if acknowledging that he had been recognized by Minho.
You leaned into his embrace, his lips pressing against your forehead as he kissed you tenderly. The familiar warmth of his lips sent shivers down your spine, bringing your arms up to wrap around his neck.
"I love you," he whispered, his voice soft as he pressed his face against the crown of your head.
“I love you more,” You whispered as he slipped his hands around you, surprising you as he lifted you off the floor. He carried you with ease, retracing old steps as he made his way down the hall, towards your bedroom.
As he push you down on the bed, he leaned down to press another kiss to your lips.
“I'll be right back in bed once I finish changing.”
“Don’t take too long,” You stared, watching him linger in the light of your bathroom door.
“Night baby,” He said softly, grinning as Pickles jumped up, curling up right next to you, “sleep well."

you're at your school's library, cramming for your upcoming finals. with a little over a week to prepare for months' worth of lessons across multiple subjects, the pressure is taking quite a toll on you. two cups of coffee sit beside your laptop, one already empty. even though you've been studying for less than 40 minutes, you already feel the urge to down all the caffeine left in front of you just to keep from dozing off again.
sigh, 'just gotta finish this whole powerpoint. then, i can finally relax for a bit' you silently hype yourself out. with the reward of a break for an hour of studying, you quickly go through the entire lesson in a flash.
grabbing the not empty cup of coffee, you take a much needed sip to keep yourself awake for more hours of studying.
a while later, you're stretching in your seat after having finished with that specific powerpoint. 'finally i can take a break' you think to yourself
as you sit, and stare at your laptop's screen. contimplating on what to do to pass time, you decide to play music to relax yourself.
clicking the shuffle button on your playlist. you put your headphones on and rest your head on your arms, as the familiar tune of paris by the 1975 play.
the music pulls you into a memory, that unforgettable class trip to paris.
꒰ and oh, how i'd love to go paris again ꒱
you’re on the bus, the city outside the window slowly coming to life. everyone in your class is chatting excitedly, pointing out landmarks and planning what to do when you finally get off. the eiffel tower is getting closer, its towering frame making your heart race with excitement.
“can you believe we’re actually here?” keeho says, leaning over to nudge your shoulder. his energy is infectious, and you can’t help but smile.
hyunjin, sitting across the aisle, snaps a quick photo through the window. “this already feels unreal,” he says, grinning. “i’m going to fill my camera roll today.”
the bus comes to a stop, and your teacher announces a short break to explore the area. the three of you quickly stick together as everyone spills out onto the cobblestone street. paris feels alive—the air smells like fresh bread and coffee, and the chatter of locals blends with the hum of passing cars.
“we need food. let’s find a café!” keeho declares, already marching toward a row of cozy-looking places with outdoor seating.
you follow, laughing as hyunjin drags you by the wrist to keep up. he’s scanning every building, taking quick snapshots of anything that catches his eye. “wait, stand here,” he says suddenly, pulling out his phone to snap a candid photo of you and keeho in front of a flower shop.
“are you going to take pictures the whole trip?” you tease.
“obviously,” hyunjin replies, unbothered. “someone has to document how good we look in paris.”
eventually, the three of you settle at a small café. the waiter brings over menus, and you all take a moment to soak it all in. keeho orders a slice of cake, hyunjin gets a croissant and coffee, and you decide on a simple baguette sandwich.
“okay, this is officially the best food i’ve ever had,” keeho says after his first bite.
“it’s just cake,” hyunjin says, rolling his eyes but stealing a forkful anyway.
you laugh as they bicker, feeling a warmth settle in your chest. sitting there with your best friends, surrounded by the magic of paris, everything feels perfect.
after finishing your meals, you and your friends head back to the bus to regroup with your class. the energy is buzzing as everyone talks about their plans for the rest of the day. your teacher announces that the next stop is a famous museum nearby.
the museum is grand, with high ceilings and beautiful architecture that makes you feel small in the best way. inside, it’s quieter, with your classmates dispersing into smaller groups.
hyunjin immediately pulls out his camera again. “this lighting is perfect,” he mutters, snapping a photo of a sculpture in the corner.
keeho rolls his eyes with a smirk. “he’s gonna be like this the whole time.”
“he’s consistent, at least,” you joke, earning a laugh from keeho as the two of you start wandering through the exhibits together.
the artwork is stunning—paintings that feel alive, sculptures that seem to breathe. you and keeho take your time strolling through the halls, sharing your thoughts on each piece.
“i don’t get this one,” keeho says, staring at an abstract painting.
“it’s open to interpretation,” you reply.
“so… the artist spilled paint everywhere?”
you nudge his arm. “be serious!”
keeho grins but then glances around. “hey, i’m gonna find the bathroom real quick. don’t get lost.”
“sure, sure,” you say, waving him off.
as he walks away, you wander aimlessly, letting your feet carry you through the museum’s winding halls. you stop to admire a large painting of a serene countryside when, out of nowhere, you bump into someone.
“oh, i’m so sorry!” you blurt out, taking a step back.
the stranger turns to you, and your words catch in your throat. he’s tall, with warm eyes and a gentle smile. his presence feels calm, yet somehow magnetic.
“no worries,” he says, his voice warm and calm, with a hint of an australian accent you catch right away. “are you okay?”
you nod quickly, feeling your cheeks heat up. “y-yeah, i wasn’t looking where i was going.”
he chuckles lightly, brushing it off. “happens to the best of us.”
he pauses for a moment, as if waiting to see if you’ll say anything else. you manage a small smile. “thanks for being so nice about it. i’m—uh…” before you can finish, keeho’s voice rings out from somewhere nearby.
“hey, y/n! where’d you go?”
the spell is broken, and you glance over your shoulder to see keeho waving at you. turning back to the stranger, you offer an apologetic smile. “that’s my friend. i should go.”
“of course,” he says, still smiling. “take care.”
you hurry off toward keeho, your heart still racing. as you rejoin your friends, you glance back briefly to see the stranger walking away. something about the moment lingers, a small spark you can’t quite explain.
after regrouping with keeho and hyunjin, the three of you continue exploring the museum. hyunjin has finally tucked his camera away, much to keeho’s relief.
“didn’t think i’d ever see the day you’d stop taking pictures,” keeho teases.
“i’m just saving space for later,” hyunjin retorts, grinning. “besides, i want to actually enjoy this.”
the three of you move through the museum, pausing at different exhibits. keeho offers more of his hilarious “critiques,” while hyunjin points out details you might’ve missed. for a while, it feels like time doesn’t exist, just the three of you soaking in the beauty of parisian art.
after some time, you excuse yourself to find the restroom. as you leave, keeho calls after you, “don’t get lost again!”
“i won’t!” you call back with a laugh, shaking your head.
once you step out of the restroom, you turn a corner and nearly bump into someone again.
“oh—sorry!” you start, looking up. and there he is.
the boy from earlier.
“you again,” he says with a warm smile, his eyes lighting up with recognition.
“yeah, me again,” you reply, feeling your face heat up.
“i guess we’re just destined to keep running into each other,” he jokes, his tone light and teasing.
you laugh softly. “seems like it. i never got your name earlier.”
“jake,” he says, extending his hand. “and you?”
“y/n,” you say, shaking his hand. his grip is gentle but firm, and you feel your heart skip a beat.
“nice to officially meet you, y/n,” jake says, his smile widening.
the two of you start chatting, the conversation flowing easily. he tells you he’s here with his own group, visiting from another school all the way from australia, and you share a little about your own trip. his voice is calm and steady, and his subtle humor keeps making you giggle.
at one point, he gestures toward a nearby painting. “what do you think of this one? please don’t say the artist spilled paint everywhere.”
you burst into laughter, shaking your head. “no, no, that’s keeho’s specialty. i actually think it’s kind of beautiful, in a chaotic way.”
“good answer,” jake says, grinning.
before you know it, the sound of footsteps and familiar voices echo down the hall. “y/n! where are you?” keeho calls, his voice unmistakable.
you glance in the direction of the sound, then back at jake, your smile faltering slightly. “that’s my friends. i should go.”
jake nods, his expression soft. “of course. it was nice talking to you, y/n.”
“you too, jake,” you say, stepping away reluctantly. as you walk toward your friends, you can’t help but glance back once. jake is still standing there, giving you a small wave.
you rejoin keeho and hyunjin, who immediately start teasing you for taking so long. but as the three of you continue exploring the museum, you can’t stop thinking about jake. and though you don’t say it out loud, you quietly hope that fate will bring you together again.
it’s been a day since the museum, but your thoughts keep circling back to jake. his kind smile, the way he made you laugh, and that unmistakable australian accent—it’s all stuck in your head.
after dinner with your classmates at the hotel, the buzz of chatter feels overwhelming. you decide to step outside for some fresh air, hoping a quiet walk will help clear your mind.
the streets of paris are calmer at this hour, bathed in a soft, golden glow from the streetlights. a small park just down the road catches your eye, and you wander toward it, settling onto a bench beneath a tree.
you sit there for a while, letting your thoughts drift. the cool breeze carries the faint scent of flowers, and the distant hum of city life feels oddly soothing.
suddenly, you feel someone sit down beside you. you glance over, and your heart skips a beat.
it’s him.
jake.
the boy you couldn’t stop thinking about.
he notices your surprise and gives you that same warm smile. “hey,” he says casually. “fancy seeing you here.”
you blink, struggling to process the coincidence. “jake? what are you doing here?”
“could ask you the same thing,” he says with a light chuckle, leaning back against the bench. “i was out for a walk, saw this park, and thought i’d sit for a bit. didn’t expect to run into you again.”
you laugh softly, shaking your head. “paris must be smaller than we think.”
“or fate has a funny way of working,” he says, his tone teasing but his eyes sincere.
the conversation flows naturally from there. he asks about your class trip, and you tell him about your visit to the museum and all the places your group plans to see next. he shares stories about his own class, laughing about his friends’ antics and the moments that make the trip memorable.
“you’re telling me someone actually fell asleep in front of the mona lisa?” you ask, barely holding back laughter.
“yup. full-on snoring,” jake replies, grinning. “the security guard didn’t know whether to wake him or leave him there.”
the two of you laugh together, the sound blending into the quiet of the park.
after a while, jake stands up. “wait here,” he says, his tone playful but mysterious.
“where are you going?” you ask, watching him walk toward a nearby food stand.
“you’ll see,” he calls back over his shoulder.
a few minutes later, he returns, holding two neatly wrapped chocolate crepes. he hands one to you with a grin. “figured this would make the moment even better.”
you take it, smiling at his thoughtfulness. “thanks, jake. this is perfect.”
as you both sit there, enjoying the crepes and chatting under the parisian sky, you can’t help but feel like this moment is something straight out of a dream.
the days in paris pass like a blur, filled with sightseeing, laughter, and the magic of simply being in the city. but the most unexpected highlight of your trip that osn’t on the schedule—is jake.
you can’t quite explain it, but somehow, you keep running into him. these little moments have become the thing you secretly look forward to the most.
────୨ৎ────
you’re standing at the counter of a small café, debating between ordering a croissant or a pain au chocolat. the decision feels monumental, and you’re entirely lost in thought when a voice interrupts you.
“go for the pain au chocolat,” jake says, appearing beside you with an easy smile.
you blink, startled at first, before breaking into a grin. “jake? what are you doing here?”
“getting breakfast,” he says, holding up a cup of coffee and a bag. “didn’t think i’d see you again so soon.”
“neither did i,” you reply, chuckling. “are you always this lucky, or is paris just this small?”
“maybe both,” he teases. “need help deciding?”
“i was leaning toward the croissant, but now i feel like i have to trust your judgment.”
“always trust the chocolate,” he says, nodding sagely.
you laugh and order the pain au chocolat. as you wait, the two of you chat, his humor making the simple café feel like the best spot in paris.
────୨ৎ────
a couple of days later, you’re wandering through a mall with keeho and hyunjin, trying to find souvenirs to take back home. keeho is busy debating between two scarves for his mom, and hyunjin is glued to his phone, looking up recommendations.
you drift toward a small kiosk filled with handmade trinkets, running your fingers over delicate keychains.
“don’t tell me you’re buying one of those cheesy eiffel tower keychains,” a familiar voice says behind you.
you spin around, your heart skipping a beat. “jake!”
he’s holding a bag of his own, filled with souvenirs. “fancy meeting you here.”
“again,” you add with a laugh.
keeho spots jake and gives you a knowing look, while hyunjin just raises an eyebrow before wandering off. you try to ignore them and focus on jake instead.
“what’s in the bag?” you ask, nodding toward his purchases.
“just some stuff for my family,” he says. “and maybe a keychain or two.”
you laugh. “i thought you were against cheesy keychains.”
“only when other people buy them,” he says, his grin mischievous.
────୨ৎ────
the park has become your little escape, a quiet place to think and reflect. you’re sitting on the same bench as before, lost in thought, when you hear footsteps approach.
“do you have a permanent spot here, or are you waiting for me?” jake’s voice breaks through your daydream.
you turn, smiling as he sits down beside you. “maybe both.”
“lucky me, then,” he says, leaning back and looking up at the sky. “so, what’s on your mind today?”
you hesitate for a moment, then decide to be honest. “just… thinking about how much i’ve enjoyed this trip. and how strange it’ll feel to leave.”
jake nods, his expression softening. “yeah, i get that. it’s been a lot, hasn’t it?”
“yeah,” you say quietly, and for a moment, the two of you sit in comfortable silence.
that evening. your teacher gathers the entire class in the lobby of the hotel to deliver the news.
“you’ve got two days left to enjoy paris before we head back home,” she says. “make sure you start packing your things and grab any last-minute souvenirs.”
the room fills with murmurs of excitement and relief. most of your classmates are thrilled to return to canada, and part of you is, too. but as you head back to your room, a bittersweet feeling settles in your chest.
two more days. that’s all the time you have left before you have to say goodbye to jake.
you don’t know why the thought stings so much, but it does. and now, more than ever, you hope for one more chance to see him.
────୨ৎ────
the second-to-last day in paris feels like a blur of excitement and nostalgia. you, keeho, and hyunjin make it a mission to visit as many places as possible, squeezing every last drop out of your remaining time in the city.
as the three of you step into the vintage store, you're greeted by the faint smell of aged leather and a mix of retro music playing softly in the background. the shop is packed with everything from old records to racks of vintage clothes and shelves lined with random knick-knacks.
“okay,” keeho announces, clapping his hands together. “this is the place to find hidden gems.”
hyunjin raises an eyebrow. “hidden gems or overpriced junk?”
“you just don’t have the vision,” keeho shoots back, already digging through a rack of jackets.
you wander toward a glass display case near the counter, something catching your eye—a vintage digicam. it’s small, sleek, and looks like it’s been well cared for. you kneel to get a closer look, curiosity piqued.
“hey, what’d you find?” keeho asks, appearing beside you with a leopard-print scarf draped around his neck.
you point to the camera. “a digicam. looks pretty cool, doesn’t it?”
keeho leans in, inspecting it. “very cool. are you gonna get it?”
you hesitate. “i don’t know… do you think it still works?”
“only one way to find out,” hyunjin says, suddenly appearing on your other side. he gestures to the shop owner, a kind-looking older man, who unlocks the case and hands you the camera.
you examine it closely, turning it over in your hands. the lens looks clean, and the buttons feel intact.
“how much?” you ask the shop owner.
“twenty euros,” he replies with a smile.
keeho gasps dramatically. “a steal! you have to get it.”
“yeah, before someone else does,” hyunjin agrees, casually flipping through a rack of shirts.
you laugh at their enthusiasm and decide to go for it. “alright, fine. i’m buying it.”
as you hand over the cash, keeho strikes another pose with the scarf. “what do you think? parisian chic, or should i stick to my usual?”
“stick to your usual,” hyunjin says without looking up.
keeho sighs, draping the scarf back onto the rack. “you two have no appreciation for drama.”
you test out the digicam, snapping a quick photo of keeho mid-pout. the image pops up on the tiny screen, surprisingly crisp for something so old.
“perfect,” you say, showing him the photo.
keeho grins. “okay, maybe you do have an eye for the dramatic.”
hyunjin wanders over with an oversized sweater, holding it up against himself. “thoughts?”
keeho wrinkles his nose. “are you auditioning for a grandpa role?”
“i like it,” you say, defending hyunjin’s choice.
“thank you,” hyunjin replies, smugly tossing the sweater over his arm.
the three of you spend a bit longer in the shop, goofing around and trying on random hats, sunglasses, and jackets. you snap more photos with your new camera—keeho wearing an old captain’s hat, hyunjin attempting to look cool in aviator sunglasses, and a candid shot of the two of them laughing together.
by the time you leave, the bag with your new camera swings lightly at your side, and your heart feels full. the memory of this moment—just you and your friends being unapologetically yourselves—already feels like a keepsake all its own.
at a small crêperie, hyunjin’s crêpe is covered in whipped cream and chocolate drizzle.
“how are you even holding that without it falling apart?” you ask, staring at the overloaded treat in wonder.
hyunjin shrugs. “skill,” he says simply before taking an enormous bite.
keeho watches in horror. “that’s going to end up all over your shirt, and i am not letting you borrow mine.”
“you sound like my mom,” hyunjin says through a mouthful of crêpe.
by the seine river, you take turns with the digicam, capturing moments that feel like they belong in a movie. keeho makes exaggerated poses on the bridge, while hyunjin tries (and fails) to look mysterious.
when it’s your turn to hold the camera, you take a candid shot of the two of them mid-laugh. it’s perfect—pure and genuine, a reminder of how much these moments mean to you.
“alright, photographer extraordinaire,” keeho says, pointing dramatically at the eiffel tower in the distance. “get my good side.”
“you don’t have one,” hyunjin jokes, earning a glare from keeho.
as the day winds down, you find yourself lingering outside the hotel while keeho and hyunjin head inside.
“we’ll be in the lobby if you need us,” keeho calls over his shoulder, giving you a knowing look.
once they’re gone, you make your way to the park. the same bench, the same tree, and this time, jake is already there, waiting.
he stands when he sees you, his smile soft but bright. “hey.”
“hey,” you reply, walking up to him. “beat me here this time, huh?”
“had a feeling you’d come,” he says, shrugging.
you sit down beside him, the quiet of the park wrapping around you like a blanket.
“you’ve been busy,” jake comments. “i saw you earlier near the seine with your friends. looked like fun.”
“it was,” you say, smiling at the memory. “trying to cram everything into one day, you know? time feels so short now.”
jake’s expression shifts, just slightly, and you know he understands what you mean.
“speaking of time…” you begin, hesitating. “we’re leaving tomorrow. my class is flying back home.”
jake nods slowly, his gaze dropping to his hands. “i figured it was coming. my group leaves the day after.”
there’s a pause, the kind that feels heavy but not uncomfortable.
“do you think we’ll meet again?” you ask softly, not daring to look at him.
“i hope we do,” he replies, his voice quiet but firm.
the weight of his words lingers between you, saying everything that neither of you can.
you pull out your digicam, breaking the tension with a small smile. “can i take some pictures? you know, to remember this?”
jake’s face brightens slightly. “of course.”
you snap a few shots—some posed, some candid. jake laughing at something you said, jake looking off into the distance, and finally, one of the two of you together, taken with his help.
as the night deepens, you know it’s time to go. you stand, reluctantly. “i should get back before my friends come looking for me.”
jake nods but doesn’t move. instead, he reaches out, gently taking your wrist.
“wait.”
you turn, surprised, as he pulls something from his jacket pocket—a pair of silver rings, simple and elegant.
“for you,” he says softly, slipping the smaller one onto your right hand’s ring finger. the fit is perfect.
your heart races, words failing you as he looks at you, his gaze full of unspoken meaning. then, he leans forward, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead.
“goodbye, y/n,” he murmurs, stepping back.
it takes you a moment to find your voice. “goodbye, jake.”
as you walk back to the hotel, your mind replays the moment over and over, the cool metal of the ring on your finger grounding you in the surrealness of it all. that night, lying in bed, you can’t help but wonder if the universe will bring you and jake together again someday.
꒰ paris again, and again, and again, and again, and again ꒱
a tap on your shoulder pulls you out of your thoughts, and you lift your head groggily. you blink, trying to focus on the person standing in front of you. it’s keeho, grinning mischievously, while hyunjin stands behind him, sipping his americano with a slightly amused expression.
“y/n, what are you doing?” keeho asks, leaning in and waving his hand in front of your face.
you yawn, rubbing your eyes. “i’m taking a break. i can’t even keep my eyes open for more than a minute.”
hyunjin raises an eyebrow. “yeah, we can tell. you’re practically sleeping at your desk.” he leans against the back of your chair, his voice cool but teasing. “how about you stop pretending to study and actually join us for once?”
keeho’s grin widens as he jumps into the conversation. “we’re heading to a café to study, and you’re coming with us. you need a change of scenery.”
you groan, feeling your body resist the idea of leaving the comforting quiet of the library, but deep down, you know you’ve been at it for too long. a change of pace might be exactly what you need.
“come on, y/n,” keeho insists, his voice full of that playful energy you can’t ignore. “we’ll make it more fun. you can’t study like this. plus, you’ll probably get more done with us around.”
you hesitate for a moment, your mind torn between the need for a proper break and the looming pressure of your exams. still, you can’t deny how much you need a little distraction. “fine,” you sigh, finally giving in. “but if we end up just talking the entire time, i’m leaving.”
hyunjin chuckles, giving you a knowing look. “i think you’ll be okay. we’ll actually study this time. promise.”
keeho grabs your arm, pulling you up from your seat with a playful tug. “good, because you need us to keep you sane. now, let’s get out of here.”
as the three of you leave the library, you let out one last sigh, knowing that even though you might not get as much studying done as you hope, you could definitely use the company.
the café is warm and inviting, the soft hum of background chatter mixing with the aroma of fresh coffee and baked goods. it’s a stark contrast to the quiet, studious atmosphere of the library, and you find yourself breathing a little easier as you step inside.
you find a small corner table and set your laptop down, letting out a contented sigh as you settle in. keeho and hyunjin head to the counter to order, leaving you to fidget with your feet, trying to shake off the weight of the past few hours spent studying.
your eyes flicker to the window, watching people pass by as you idly tap your fingers against your coffee cup. eventually, you stop, catching sight of the ring on your right hand.
you pause, fingers tracing the smooth metal, your mind drifting back to paris. “it’s been three years since that time in paris,” you think to yourself, a wave of nostalgia washing over you. the memory feels distant now, like a dream you’re not quite sure was real.
you wonder if jake still remembers you, if he thinks about you at all. you’d been so wrapped up in the magic of those moments, so caught up in the fleeting connection between the two of you, that you’d completely forgotten to exchange socials, to keep in touch.
a soft laugh escapes you, tinged with frustration. you can still picture your past self—so carefree, so caught up in the magic of the moment, never once thinking about the things you should have done. and now, years later, it stings.
the photos you took back then are all you have left—memories frozen in time, but still, you find yourself wishing you had more. a way to bridge the gap between then and now, something more than a ring on your finger that’s become a quiet reminder of what you left behind.
a soft laugh from keeho breaks you from your thoughts, and you glance up to see him and hyunjin walking toward the table, their arms full of coffee cups and pastries. keeho places your cup down in front of you, his expression softening when he notices the faraway look in your eyes.
“you okay?” he asks, settling into his chair across from you.
you smile faintly. “yeah, just… thinking about paris.”
hyunjin raises an eyebrow but doesn’t push. he simply places a croissant in front of you and nods. “we’ll make it through these finals. paris will still be there when you’re done.”
you nod, but the bittersweet smile remains on your face, the question still lingering in the back of your mind. will you ever see jake again?
you manage to get some work done, but there’s plenty of laughter and light-hearted banter between you guys. hyunjin and keeho constantly bicker over the most ridiculous things—whether iced coffee is better than hot coffee, or if studying with background music is productive.
“you’re seriously telling me you don’t like the classics?” keeho says, shaking his head dramatically. “what kind of music do you even listen to, hyunjin?”
“i listen to music that doesn’t make my brain want to shut down,” hyunjin replies with a smirk, taking a sip from his americano. “but hey, if you need classical music to study, you do you.”
you laugh at their back-and-forth, shaking your head at their silly rivalry. the sound of their bickering is strangely comforting, distracting you from the pressure building up inside your mind. you feel a little lighter, even if it’s just for a moment.
after a while, you excuse yourself and head to the bathroom inside the café, needing a quick break from the endless cycle of notes and coffee. the place is busy, but the hum of quiet conversations and the scent of freshly brewed coffee make it feel comforting.
you take your time, refreshing yourself and letting your thoughts wander for a few moments. when you finally finish and head back out, you’re not paying attention to where you’re going, still lost in your thoughts.
and then—bam.
you collide with someone, the force making you stumble slightly. your reflexes kick in, and you immediately start bowing in apology, your words rushing out in a flurry of embarrassment.
“i’m so sorry! i didn’t mean—”
but before you can finish, you hear a familiar voice, soft and warm, with that unmistakable australian accent.
“y/n?”
you freeze, and the world seems to stop for a moment. you slowly lift your head, and there, standing in front of you, is none other than jake. in the flesh.
for a split second, all your words get caught in your throat. your heart races, and your brain scrambles to process the unexpected reunion. this can’t be real. is this a dream?
jake’s brows furrow slightly as he looks at you with concern, his voice softening. “are you okay?” he asks, stepping a little closer to you, clearly worried about your sudden silence.
you blink, feeling your heart thumping louder in your chest as you try to find your words, but they’re nowhere to be found. you stand there, staring at him, completely at a loss for what to say.
he leans in slightly, just enough to make sure you’re okay, his face showing that familiar concern. “y/n?” he gently says your name, and your body snaps back to reality.
“i—uh… sorry, i just—didn’t expect to see you.” you feel the heat rush to your cheeks, embarrassment flushing your face. "i thought… i thought i was imagining things."
jake chuckles softly, his expression softening with a smile that makes your heart flutter. “i didn’t expect to run into you here either.” his tone is light, playful, but there’s something in his eyes—something that makes the air feel a little thicker.
you both stand there for a moment, awkward silence hanging between you. the familiarity of this moment feels surreal, but there’s no denying the warmth that spreads through you at the sight of him.
“so, uh,” you start, finally finding your voice, “what are you doing here? i didn’t expect to run into you… again.”
jake’s lips curl into that familiar, soft smile. he shrugs nonchalantly, but there’s a glint in his eyes, something unspoken. “guess it’s just fate.” he says, his tone playful but there’s a layer of sincerity underneath it, one you can’t quite ignore.
you chuckle lightly, but the tension between you both is palpable now, thickening the air around you. there’s an undeniable pull between you, something that neither of you have fully acknowledged, but it’s there, lingering in the space between your words. you feel the heat of his gaze, and the sudden awareness of how close you both are makes your heart beat just a little faster.
“so… how’ve you been?” you ask, needing to break the moment but also curious, wanting to know everything about him since that last time you saw him.
jake rubs the back of his neck with a small, shy smile, a gesture you remember well. “i’ve been good… just been busy, you know. but i’ve been thinking about our time in paris a lot.” his voice is casual, but his eyes hold something deeper, a hint of vulnerability that you weren’t expecting.
you nod, understanding exactly what he means. you’ve been thinking about paris too. every memory feels like a treasure, something you’ve carefully tucked away, not wanting to forget any part of it. you wish you had more time to ask him about the things he’s been up to, to know if he’s felt the same pull that you have, the connection that neither of you can explain.
you glance down at your hand absentmindedly, and that’s when you see it—the ring he gave you in the park, so simple yet so meaningful. the silver band glints in the soft café lighting, and your heart does a little flip.
jake notices too, his gaze dropping to your hand. his smile softens, almost imperceptibly, but you notice it. there’s a quiet understanding between you two that you don’t need to speak aloud.
“i see you’re still wearing it,” he murmurs, his voice low, almost tender.
you look up at him, meeting his eyes, and for a moment, everything else fades away. you feel like you’re back in paris, standing in that park, with everything still ahead of you, full of hope and possibility.
“i didn’t want to take it off,” you say quietly, your voice barely above a whisper.
jake doesn’t say anything at first, his eyes locked on yours. then, without warning, he reaches out slowly, his fingers brushing lightly over your hand, and he gently presses a kiss to your right hand, right where the ring rests. the simple gesture feels like it speaks volumes, and you can’t help but feel a surge of warmth spread through you.
“i’m glad,” he says softly, his voice just above a murmur. “i’m glad you kept it.”
for a moment, neither of you speaks. the world feels like it’s holding its breath. the space between you feels charged, but neither of you is in a rush to break the silence. it’s as if this moment, this small, quiet exchange, is enough.
you blink, still a little stunned by the gesture, your heart racing, but a smile tugs at the corners of your lips. you can’t help but feel the warmth in your chest, the way his simple action makes you feel seen, valued, even though you never really said all the things you wanted to say.
when you finally speak, your voice is soft but steady. “i didn’t think i’d see you again.”
jake takes a deep breath, his eyes never leaving yours. “i didn’t either, but i’m glad i did.”

Little Shits 4
Arsenal wfc x teen!reader
Auswnt x Teen!reader
Tumblr media
summary: you cherish some special and cheeky moments with you club team during your birthday week, and the end of Camp with you national team.
warnings: none, maybe that its edited shit - someone teach me to feel confident with my writing again so i can actually write something good
-----------------------------------------------------
“You can’t make up your mind, mind, mind, mind, mind!” You and Alanna screeched into the microphones on the team bus back from Marvel stadium.
“Make it stop!” Kyra screamed over the extremely loud music, covering her ears, causing other girls to laugh and yell in agreement
“Shawty is a eenie meenie miney mo lover!” You sung into Caitlin’s face in her seat, she recorded you as she laughed, you would later find that video on her insta story.
Alanna threw you over her shoulder as you walked back to your bus seats once you were both finished your karaoke song. Voices gone.
You and your national team had just won against Uzbekistan with a wicked 10-0 and were officially going to Paris. Something you had been losing sleep on for weeks.
“You have ruined Justin Bieber for me you two!” Mimi yelled over the rows
“Oh get over it!” You yelled back laughing
You had some of the sprite bottle that was in your backpack to cool down after the performance before Alanna laid on your shoulder from next to you. “Tell me I’m dreaming and we don’t have to get on a 3am flight”
You pinched her
“Ow don’t pinch me” she exclaimed as she rubbed the now red skin
“Dreaming?” You laughed “we are going to be awake the whole night before that it’s fine”
“I’m already tired” she said before muzzling herself back into your shoulder.
“You’re boring” you said already bored at her energy level, getting up out of your seat while the rest of the bus was still singing and going nuts in excitement.
When the bus reached the Hotel you all took the lift to your respected rooms. You all had roommates this camp, and you were with Caitlin as she would usually room with Sam.
When you reached your room you both plopped onto your bed's before you reached over to the phone next to you as Caitlin got up to use the bathroom.
“Room service?” You asked as she had left the room to shower, before she quickly popped around the corner again and pursed her lips at you grinning. Implying a cheeky ‘yes’.
You dialed in the number as the phone rang to the kitchen and greeeting the staff on the line. “Yes just two of your cheese burgers, two fries, one side salad, two chicken nugget meals please and your umm…chocolate Sundae as well as your strawberry one” you said, ordering a lot for you and the hungry brunette
Caitlin came into the bedroom once again, giggling at your requests on the phone.
“20 minutes is fine. Thank you!” Before hanging up the phone and putting it back on the bedside table.
“I’m not gonna have any room for my airplane food!” Caitlin said
“I don’t understand how you like that stuff”
“Airplane food is great” she shrugged
You both had 1 hour before you had to leave for the airport. It wasn’t long at all, considering you both had stuff scattered around the apartment. Caitlin’s face cringed in confusion at your choices but left it before she got on the phone with her girlfriend and your Arsenal Teammates Katie.
—————————
“No fucking about alright? Everyone is tired” Mackenzie warns you and Kyra as you are lined up for boarding, large carry ons in hand and an all too eager duo consisting of you and your best friend.
“Hm” Kyra shrugs at the tall brunette
“We won’t, I’m tired too you’ll be fine” you reassured Mackenzie
As you slowly made your way down the boarding bridge you yawned more than twice on your way you were sure. Greeting the flight attendants you and Kyra made it to your respected seats.
You had fallen asleep after an hour, which is what you were specifically not meant to do due to all of the London Aussies trying to align themselves back with European time. But you slept for five hours and now you were up. Bored as nothing else as basically the rest of the plane slept.
Peeking over the small separator of a wall between you and Kyra, you found her dead asleep. Mouth hung open like drool was about to drip out any moment. You sent a photo of the girl in her state to your Matilda’s group chat, attaching ‘I hope all you who didn’t have to leave at 3 are having fun🥰’.
Quickly deciding to get up and go to the bathroom, you found Mini waiting at the bathroom door for someone to come out so she could go. She found you walking down the aisle and smiled at you before opening her arms slowly to hug you.
You lazily accepted her arms and slumped into her embrace. “I fell asleep just before” you said leaning into her side, keeping your feet grounded as the plane slightly felt wobbly.
“Naughty” Mini chuckled
When the older woman came out of the bathroom, Mini offered for you to go first but you insisted she go. Then noticing a very tired toddler in her seat a few rows down from the bathroom as you waited, Harper yawned bringing her smaller arms up to stretch which made your heart melt. Her tired and slow eyes found yours as she smiled before opening her arms for a hug.
Even though you were quite a fair bit away for her, you made your way back down the aisle to sit next to her in her overly large seat. She crawled into your lap, resting her body there. You, Carefully stroking her arm and looking around the plane at some of the girls asleep, you had completely forgotten about needing to use the toilet before Mini came down the aisle once again.
———————————————
“And to all those returning home, welcome home” the captain said sweetly over the overhead speakers, Kyra rolling her eyes. You had slung your carry on over your shoulder and prepared to get straight out of your seat once Kyra had gotten her over-head carry on out.
“Hello London” you said once you finally made it to baggage claim and stopped to stand and stretch for a moment, before resting on your suitcase waiting for the other girls to grab their’s. Katie would be picking both you and Caitlin up and would drop you home. Teyah picking Kyra up.
“Oh my gosh can I please get a photo y/n!” You heard an excited voice behind you. Your tired expression immediately vanished as you turned around on your heel to meet with the voice.
A girl and a boy that looked about 10 years old stood there cutely with their phones out asking for a photo. “Me?” You asked smiling
“Yes! Only if that’s okay” the short boy said
“Of course” you smiled before putting your handbag on top of your suitcase so you could take the photo.
“We are Australian too! We are on holidays” the girl explained once you handed her phone back to her after you all took the photo
“Oh I thought I heard some Australian accents” you laughed “what do you think of London?”
“It’s very cold” the girl said
“Yeah” they both laughed
“Oh I agree. Bit different from Australia. What are your names?” You asked them
“I am Emma”
“And I’m Luke I play soccer like you!” The small boy said after his sister
“That’s awesome wow!” You said excitedly.
“Hey y/l/n, Katie’s here” Caitlin said from behind you. Not seeing the two young fans that you were talking to just yet.
“Caitlin Foord!” The little girl said excitedly before they both ran off to her. The small boy waving to you as he ran.
You looked a little to the left to find the Irish girl standing there smiling at the interaction, you walked towards her before she started to do the same to you when she noticed you. You hugged, a hug that felt long because it felt soothing to be in her arms like always. Every time Katie hugged someone, it was liked she always framed them in her arms perfectly.
“How you going tiny?” She asked looking down at you with that wide and comforting smile.
“Good”
“Good” Katie mimicked you
“Very tired but I’m happy” you shrugged before pulling her back in. Before feeling a slight tug at the hood of your jumper. Caitlin pulling you away from Katie, so she could greet her. You grabbed your suitcase quickly while they kissed and did whatever else you chose not to look at for too long.
“Let’s go” Katie said grabbing your suitcase off of you so she could hold it before you all walked to her car and out of the airport.
————————————————————————
“Vivvy I don’t need your help” you groaned as Viv came over to where you sat at the dining table, attempting to help you with your homework for the 10th time tonight.
“We aren’t starting this movie until it’s done and unless you want to be hated from us collectively I suggest you pick up that pen” Viv stated trying to keep her words firm and clear.
“Kyra I’ll have one” you pointed to Kyra who was at the fridge getting herself a coke. Completely ignoring Viv who attempted to help you hurry up.
“I give up we are starting the movie” Viv said before walking back to the living room where most of the girls were already.
It was a team bonding night with some of the girls who lived super close to you, Kyra and Alessia’s building. Everyone forced the idea on you that you would host. As no one else was bothered to host and cook for everyone.
You were quite a good cook as the 16 year old yourself. So you gave in, but had deadlines for your online school due tomorrow that you were nowhere near done. The girls found out about your deadlines and made sure you finished them.
“I’ll just ask for an extension” you shrugged getting up and heading to your kitchen to grab the coke off the island that Kyra left for you.
“You can’t just ask for an extension every time” Caitlin, your Australian teammate, said from her position leaning against your kitchen counter, digging her grimey fingers into the leftover salad on the counter.
“out” you flicked her fingers out from the bowl and pulled her arm with you into the living room. “Yeah well I don’t know my teachers so I don’t care” you shrugged before you both sat down on the couch. Caitlin having to take the floor, sitting in between her girlfriend’s legs, due to there being no more space left in the couch nor the beanbags.
“Excited to be 17 tiny?” Laura said from her position on the couch next to you
“Very” you smiled sweetly. It was your birthday in two days.
“That reminds me. Game day in two days, so we can’t watch this full movie” Kim said from the other end of your couch
“Oh come on” Leah groaned like a child to her club Captain
The movie had been playing for around 45 minutes now. When Kyra’s intrusive ideas quickly sprung up and she was sharing them with you. “If we snuck out no one would notice” she whispered
You quietly chuckled at the comment that came completely out of no where, before some of the girls turned to look at you, as the movie scene playing was definitely not that funny.
“Mate how are you gonna do that”
“Your gonna do it with me” Kyra said, you laughed quietly dropping your head and shaking it.
“Yeah and where the hell are we gonna go”
“We can literally just go to my apartment or the lobby. Just to see how long they notice, or how long it takes for them to finally find us” she said finally now leaning back into the couch to act casual, but waiting for your response. Instead you headed to the kitchen
“I’m grabbing water” you said as the rest of the girls eye’s stayed on the screen, Kyra’s following you before quickly getting up and following you when you motioned her to do so.
“I’m in, come on” you whispered before grabbing your key and heading for your front door, which was luckily behind the couch where the rest of your friends lay.
“Should we take our phones?” Kyra asked looking back before she shut the door behind her.
“Nah” you shrugged before Kyra finally shut it, very, very gently.
Bad idea.
————————————
Vic’s Pov
I got up to use the toilet, softly apologise to girls as I stepped over their legs that sprawled out over the carpet before I made my way to the bathroom. I knocked, remembering that Kyra had gone in not too long ago.
“Kyra?” I questioned softly after hearing not response, knocking again. “Kyraaa” I dragged out as I very very gently opened the door slightly to see if she was even in there. When my head finally poked through, I saw no one there. Walking in to double check, there was no one.
“Guys where is Kyra?” I yelled from the bathroom not too loudly. There was silence for a moment as none of the girls bothered to respond to me.
“Where’s y/n?” Katie yelled back, making me exit the bathroom and go out to see the rest of them. “Y/n” Katie slightly yelled across your small apartment. Going to check your bedroom and guest bedroom. “Did you say Kyra was gone too?” Katie asked me as she walked to the rooms, the movie now paused.
“Yeah she’s not in the bathroom like I thought she was” I said before following Katie, me laughing slightly once we checked both rooms only to find them not anywhere.
“Fuck me” Kim said under her breath, now getting up front the couch, Teyah also getting up along with Lia. Viv and Leah asleep on the couch.
Kim went to the kitchen to grab her phone so she could call y/n and Kyra. “Kim” Katie said motioning for her to look at herself, holding up both there phones as she walked out of the room. Signalling they left them.
“Why do they do this” Caitlin said as she went to your front door to look out into the hallway, before completely disappeared down it to look for both of you.
end of pov
———————
“You dumb kid why did you say no when I asked about taking phones?” Kyra groaned as you both sat up against the wall, the outside of your apartment building. You and Kyra had ventured down to the lobby, only to think that it was too obvious, so you walked outside into the dark and sat outside the building. Dangerous. Yep.
“Oi Don’t call me that. Why did you ask me then?” I rushed
“This is boring come on” Kyra said before getting up and reaching her arms out, offering for you to latch on so she could help you up. Kyra dragged you back through your libby and then out a door. Leading to the car park.
“It’s so scary down here no” you said standing in the emergency doorway that you had both snuck into. It was 11pm, pitch black, and Kyra was making her way over to the box trolleys. The trolleys that the residents used to take up large items.
“Push me” Kyra said sitting down in the middle of the trolley, putting her hands in her lap, and crossing her legs.
“No” you hummed
“Yes”
“No”
“Yes”
“Only if you push me after” you gave in. It sounded fun.
“Don’t push me into a car” Kyra laughed as you started to walk with the trolley “faster cmon”
After spinning the trolley around for no more than two minutes filled with laughter and Kyra screaming as the trolley headed for the cement wall. "Okay off, my turn please" you said tugging on Kyra's sleeve before you helped her out of the trolley. As you went to hop in, you both heard the squeaky but heavy door leading to the car park swing open from he other side of the lot. Thinking someone was here to kill you both, you shared a paranoid look before instantly moving behind the red car you were both near, you peaked through the car's back window to see if you could see the figures that had entered, you heard the voice of a female before your eyes landed on Katie, Kim and Teyah.
"Is it a man?" Kyra asked, not looking, her back against the car.
"what? oh, no, worse. Kim Little"
Kyra just looked up at you and smirked before pulling you away, further into the dark parking spaces filled with cars. "Oi!" a strong Irish accent was heard, you looked back as you and Kyra ran through the large car park, locking eyes with a stern Kim Little. "Get back here!" Katie yelled again, a slight goofiness in her voice.
Kyra pulled you behind a car as you noticed Teyah and Katie running up to follow you, you and Kyra ducking out again and running behind another car. "Stop" Teyah breathed out as she ran after you two again. You turned back around only to realise you were running straight towards your captain Kim.
"Ah shit" you chuckled as your jogging came to a stop "hey it was funny-"
"we didn't know where you were, everyone was looking for you two!" Kim exclaimed
"Why" you asked smiling and still breathing heavily, recovering form your chase. Hearing the squeals and laughs from afar, Katie and Teyah were still taking off towards Kyra as they basically played tiggy.
"cause we all care about you. And it worried me that you and Kyra just left"
"Kyra's 22!" you said throwing your arms up
"Is she" Kim said, motioning towards Teyah and Katie tackling Kyra into the cement ground while she broke out into a giggling fit. "besides you're 16!"
"and you're over reacting" you breathed out before grabbing your jumper off the ground near the door and making your way to the exit. Getting in the elevator by yourself, pressing the button with the number 16 on it, heading to your apartment again. Though the lift stopped at ground level, above the car park, someone also trying to get the lift up.
Once the elevator doors opened, a blonde girl with a messy bun and her head in her phone was walking in. Not seeing you yet. "Shit"
Leah looked up from her phone at you. "There you are" Leah said, hitting the back of your head before rubbing your hair aggressively.
"Ow" You groaned, rubbing your head.
"I was looking outside for you, where's Kyra?" Leah said as the lift dinged and you both walked up the hall.
"Kyra's with Kim, Katie and um Teyah" you said, now unlocking your apartment door.
"Where on earth did you go" Leah asked now
"first outside, then the car park" you grinned
"look who it is!" Viv said as you both walked in, from her spot on the couch next to Beth, Laura and Alessia.
"Where is the rest of yous'?" Beth asked you simply shrugged, not bothering to answer, before collapsing into Laura's lap on the couch.
"You're kinda sweaty" Laura said from above your head.
---------------
Your birthday happened to land on a Thursday, which was your day off. Which meant your birthday would be spent not in the gym, and relaxing, just how you preferred. You sat up in your own bed, in your own apartment face timing your whole family on your computer. Once that ended, you stayed in bed, smiling and your heart warming at the Instagram posts your friend's back in Australia had created for your day, and the one's from your teammates also.
After a slow 30 minutes, you finally left the comfort of your blankets and got into the shower to freshen up for the day. You would be meeting the 'London Aussies' for breakfast this morning. Which included you, Caitlin, Steph, Macca, Sam, Kyra and as of late, Mini and Charli. It meant a lot to you that they took the morning's out of their day off to spend it with you on your birthday. Something you weren't sure would've even been thought about when you nervously moved across the world.
Steph offered to pick you up. So after applying some light makeup to match your usually-bronzed Australian self, changing into a warm outfit consisting of Jeans and a crew neck, Steph had texted you that she was now out the front of your apartment complex.
A wide grin was plastered on both your faces as the glass door outside your lobby opened, Steph leaning against her car waiting for you, large bouquet of yellow flowers in her hand. "Happy birthday Dancing queen!" she exclaimed before engulfing you in a tight hug, slightly lifting your feet off the ground in the warm gesture, you giggled at the comment before she let go of you.
She handed the flowers to you, "for me?" you asked in awe of them as she smiled.
"Of course" Steph said warmly
"Thank you it means a lot to me" you said hugging her again.
"Okay let's go i'm starving" She said before skipping off to the other side of the car to drive. You chuckled as you got into the car
"Where are we even going" you asked on the road, curious as to where you and your Aussie teammates would be eating
"I forget what it is called but I have taken you here before, you loved it" Steph said. Moments later, the car pulled into the parking lot, you remembering the cafe now. You saw Kyra getting out of the car with Charli, from your window.
Meeting up with all your Australian teammates from all around London once again made you happy, almost was the highlight of your day. During the breakfast, you got photos together at the table, some of the girl's mentioning that they would post them on their stories later for Instagram. You spoke about the Olympics, Sam's recovery and wedding plan's, along with plan's of Steph's big day also.
"You're gonna love the present from me and Katie" Caitlin grinned, nudging your shoulder, You let out a quiet but excited squeal.
"What are your plan's for the rest of your day y/n?" Sam asked you before sipping her iced coffee.
"I have been invited over to Beth and Viv's place for dinner tonight. So just chilling at my place then I will head over for that" You said to the girls, them all nodding.
-----------------
Your birthday breakfast was over and Steph had dropped you back home, after taking you to the super market. To buy you whatever Sweets or snacks you wanted for your own apartment. You heard a knock at your door so you walked over to it and peeped through the door. Only to be met with a man in a fluro green vest and black hoodie.
"Y/n y/n/n?" the man asked. You hesitated at first, the multiple worried chats from Leah pondering into your mind about not talking to people who just show up at your apartment. That was before you looked down at the large box with pink wrapping paper and yellow ribbon, the object softening your initial expression. You quickly nodded at the man, before singing on a line from the form he put in front of you.
"Thank you" You smiled before he headed off, leaving the pink box at your door. You went to pick it up, it was heavier than you expected, but you brought it inside and placed it on your dining room table. You unwrapped the gift and saw the card from Katie and Caitlin. Their sweet words about how they were proud of your journey and their love for you had you smiling to yourself. You had received multiple gifts, most of them at training yesterday though, they all made you extremely grateful for the teammates you could call home now. The gift from Katie and Caitlin was a light pink Smeg mixer for baking may not seem to exciting, but baking and cooking for the people closest to you was your love language at this point.
Your teammates had become used to you hosting dinners, with your cooking skills. Also getting used to and comfortable with you regularly bringing them baked treats you had made. Some of them like Katie, Leah and Kyra had become quite demanding that you visit them with treats now.
On the cardboard box the mixer, Katie had written largely in thick-red sharpie 'I expect a shit ton of cookies now', her writing taking up the whole left side of the box. You laughed to yourself at her antics before opening up the box and taking a look at your present.
-----------------
You and Viv got out of her car, where she had parked it outside her and Beth's flat. You were here to spend your birthday dinner with them. "Ready?" Viv asked before she opened the door.
"Uh yeah why" you questioned. Quickly before the door swung open and lights were turned on
"Surprise!" yelled a group, you shooting your head up.
You were met with the beaming faces of your whole family. Including your parents, older siblings, grandparents and closest cousins. Your jaw hung low really fast in shock. Your Australian family was all her in front of you. "What are you-" you yelled in excitement before running into your mother's arms. You greeted your whole family eagerly before hugging Beth who watched you interact with a proud smile.
"who did this?" you asked looking up at her, Beth still holding you
"i may have organised it. But you can thank your siblings" she grinned at you before you hugged her tighter.
You spent the rest of the evening eating pizza and talking with your family. You ended up having to get takeaway as Viv bought the wrong meat from the butcher to make for dinner. Forever grateful for your biggest supporters in your life and your Arsenal and Aussie teammates.

MINESTREAM
Tumblr media
SYPNOSIS > Wanting to start a new stream series with his best friends, Jay had a bright idea of playing some simple Minecraft with them. Everything was normal, until he realises there is another person in the call with them. He quickly learns that it was ni-ki’s older sister, (name). Watch how streaming a simple game of Minecraft can dig up some interesting feelings between the main leads.
FOURTY-FOUR – we’re okay now
MASTERLIST | PREVIOUS | NEXT
italics is them speaking in japanese
a/n: this is going to be a slightly long read. not a super long but definitely the longest written chapter I’ve done for this smau. trigger warning (no pun intended): there is mentions of guns
Tumblr media
you blinked once, the white light right above you was practically beaming. it causes you to blink a couple more times to adjust to the lighting. once you fully focus, you realised that you weren’t at home. you turned your head to the side and noticed ni-ki was laying his head on the white mattress. his hand holding yours tightly, like you were going to disappear.
ni-ki stirs in his sleep, he groans and slowly sits up. once he realises that you’re awake, he stands up and throws himself onto you. giving you a bone crushing hug.
“oneechan.” his voice was soft, you could hear a little crack in his voice like he was going to cry.
“riki, what’s wrong? i just fainted, little baby.” you pat his back slowly and it only makes ni-ki hold you tighter.
“you worried me. you are my only family here in seoul. mom and dad can’t even come here.”
“yvette and heeseung are here. i’m not your only family.”
“you know what i mean, oneechan.”
you laughed a little, “yes, riki. i know.” ni-ki pulls back from the hug. “where are the others?”
“yvette-chan and heeseung-kun went to buy some lunch.” just as ni-ki finishes his words, the ward door opens.
yvette gasps and she runs over to hug you. “my precious girl, you’re finally awake. you missed lunch and dinner.”
“how long was i out for?”
“about 8 hours? or more?” heeseung says.
“we tossed the flowers out. jungwon and sunoo took a sample piece and are testing things out in their little ‘makeshift’ lab.” yvette explains.
“why do they have a lab?”
“jay hyung is sponsoring them.” ni-ki says.
“but…why though?” you say in confusion.
“don’t question it, they’re in their ‘detective era’ as what they said.” yvette says.
ni-ki shrugs, he snatches the food from heeseung and goes over to the empty chair next to you. “let’s share this, you need all the good food. you’re too thin.” ni-ki pats your head.
“i am not sk-” ni-ki shoves the curly fries into your hand.
“you deserve it.”
you looked in between heeseung, yvette and ni-ki before sighing and grabbing a curly fries. ni-ki snaps a photo of you eating and send it to jay. as for jay, he was busy panicking in his seat as the bus drove them back to the campus. jake smacks jay’s thigh.
“stop it. she’s going to be fine.” jake glares at jay. jay sighs.
“i’m sorry, i just- i’m just worried about her. what if there is some problems. the last time ni-ki texted me, she was still asleep. it’s been 8 hours since then.”
ping!
jay rushes to check his phone. he notices the photo of you eating some curly fries and in a hospital gown.
‘she’s awake, you don’t have to worry hyung.’
jay sighs in relief, he finally settles down on his seat. jake pats the boy’s shoulder.
“she’s awake now. you can get some proper rest. you haven’t slept at all and i know you love sleeping. ni-ki, heeseung hyung and yvette noona are watching her. sunoo and jungwon are doing their little research things so you don’t have to worry.” jake reassures jay.
jay huffs, “okay. i’ll get some rest.” as jay shuts his eyes, there was some smooching sounds behind them and so jake throws an empty plastic bottle at sunghoon.
“shut the fuck up, sunghoon.” jake whispers. sunghoon glares at jake.
“can’t i kiss my girlfriend?”
“makeout in your room when we get back. jay hasn’t slept last night because he was busy worrying about (name). you wouldn’t know because you snuck out to sleep in Nari’s room!”
sunghoon frowns, “fine.” he pecks Nari cheek once and looks out the window. nari sighs.
“sorry, jake.” those innocent eyes.
jake groans, “don’t- oh my god, i see why sunghoon cracks whenever he sees you. you are too adorable for this world. fucking hell, i miss my girlfriend.” he turns around and settles at his seat. he starts to spam lily on his phone.
nari innocently tilts her head in confusion. “hoonie, did i do something wrong?”
“no, baby. you did nothing wrong. jake just misses his girl.”
“you know…maybe we should find a way to let jake visit lily.” nari suggests.
sunghoon notices jake typing to lily. the series of ‘i miss you’ ‘wish you were here’ ‘my heart is incomplete without you’ texts that sunghoon read through the crack in between the seats, it was depressing.
“yeah, let’s talk to yvette about this.” nari smiles and sunghoon pecks her forehead. he mutters a small little ‘i love you’ to her and she lays her head on his shoulder.
jungwon and sunoo burst through the door of the ward with a loud bang. the nurse spins around as she hands you the medicine you were supposed to take. they bow slightly to the nurse as she leaves while glaring at the two boys.
“why did you two burst through the doors like that?” yvette says.
“we found more evidence! sunoo hyung tell them what happened.”
“so i was snooping around and possibly hacked into kaito’s dad’s company database. this dumbass kept all the evidence in a singular folder. all the way from tax fraud to embezzlement. it’s actually insane because the numbers in the account just went from like 10,000 to 10,000,000 real quick.” sunoo explains.
“in won…or.”
“USD. look!” sunoo shows the pdf file that he downloaded. all the different years of bank statements.
“this is perfect but this would only land kaito’s dad in jail. what about that…thing.” yvette says.
“jungwon found some criminal offences and reports made against him. turns out he was a creep and has always been one. he likes to stalk girls, loves being a creep and was very abusive to his exes.”
“holy shit. this is great. we just need to report this to the police and have him deported and in jail!” heeseung says.
“problem is….kaito is off the grid. we have no idea where he is.” jungwon says.
“what do you mean…” you bit your lips nervously.
“he just disappeared. i think he’s about to do something again…which is not good.”
ni-ki stands up, “i am not letting him strike again. he may be one step ahead but we can always be two steps ahead of him. we just need to think like him for a bit and predict his next moves.”
the room falls silent. everyone thought of various ways that kaito could go about his next moves.
“since he already hurt (name) in a way…wouldn’t he go for jay next?” heeseung says.
“that’s possible.”
“aren’t they on the school bus right now?” you asked.
“yeah.”
you had sat up, ready to move out of the bed. ni-ki stops you.
“no, you need to rest.”
“i had enough rest. i’ve been out for 8 hours and it’s not like i was physically harmed. i just fainted. we have to get to campus now and check the bus if it’s fine or not.”
“how about me and yvette go there. ni-ki, how about you settle the hospital stuff for (name) and come with her later on after you get a the green light from the doctor? jungwon and sunoo can you make sure the 02z are fine? like call them or something?” heeseung says.
“on it hyung.” jungwon and sunoo called jake. heeseung and yvette went to the campus.
the bus halts pretty hard. everyone in the bus was flung in their seats. jake’s phone rings and so he picks it up confused as to why sunoo was calling him.
“yo, what’s up?”
“anything happened on your trip back from the camp?”
“not really? the bus did stop pretty hard right now.”
there was small cusses from sunoo, he passes the phone to jungwon. “hyung, where are you guys now? like spot a prominent landmark in the area.”
“uh, i see a scarecrow and large fields? why are you asking me this-” jake’s voice dies down when he sees someone holding a gun. “holy fuck.”
“what? what?”
“it’s kaito…”
“oh fuck.” jungwon says.
“oh fuck indeed. everyone is cowering in fear in their seats. kaito doesn’t see us yet. i need to wake jay up. he’s asleep right now.”
“okay, wait. sunoo hyung is calling the cops. send us your location now.”
“fuck, okay-” jake ends the call and sends his location to sunoo.
“jake, we have to do something about this. this isn’t even supposed to happen…how did kaito get a gun through the borders of korea…” sunghoon whispers to jake.
“i have no idea but sunoo is calling the cops right now. we need to wake jay up.”
“or we could kick that thing’s ass.” sunghoon suggests.
“you’re right but he has a gun.”
“two people are better than one.”
“how about three?” jay says with eyes shut. jake turns to look at jay.
“you weren’t asleep??”
“woke up when you two started whispering. pretend to be asleep. i have a plan.”
“at least tell us your plan?” sunghoon says.
“just pretend to fall asleep. i’ll start counting down and you two follow what i do.” jay explains. jake and sunghoon pretend to fall asleep.
kaito comes closer their seats. he points the gun at jay and slowly walks up to him. just as he was about to shoot, jay kicks him. he falls to the small staircase of the bus.
“open the door, quick!” jay tells jake. jake runs towards the front of the bus and clicks the button, all while jay wrestles kaito. jay pushes kaito out of the bus and sunghoon follows behind tackling him too.
“sunghoon!” nari yells. “be careful!”
“don’t worry, babe. i have everything under control.” just as sunghoon says so, kaito fires the gun in the air. their eyes widened as the witnessed it hitting the side of the bus. “okay, i do not have everything under control.” nari sighs. she runs down the steps and kicks the gun out from kaito’s hand. he groans in pain.
“stupid. attempting to hurt my friend and everyone here.” she steps on his hand. “hope you get punished for your sins in prison. let them cut your hand off so you suffer for eternity in a fucking 4x4 jail cell!”
jay eyes widened, “where did you learn japanese?”
“i took classes in high school but that’s besides the point, where are the cops and please check if everyone inside is safe.” nari says.
“that’s the first time i’ve heard her mutter more than 10 words.” jake says. nari glares at jake and jake flinches. he quickly goes to check if everyone was alright. the police sirens were blasting, coming closer.
kaito struggles in sunghoon and jay’s hold.
“stay still unless you want me to step on your hand again.” nari says. kaito continues to struggle and nari steps on his hand, putting pressure on it.
“okay! okay! please, i beg you. it hurts!” kaito groans. nari stops.
the policemen quickly left their car, they went over to jay and sunghoon. a few of them went up on the bus to make sure everyone was okay and 2 of them picked kaito off the ground. they held him tight so he wouldn’t be able to run away. they led him into the car and shoved him inside.
“we’ll bring him to the police station for questioning and also arrest him. we need one of you or maybe 2 of you to tell us what exactly happened and then we’ll file a report.” the police officer explains.
jake, sunghoon and nari went to follow the police officer into the car. an ambulance comes by and makes sure everyone else was okay. they even arranged another transport so that everyone got home safe. finally, they arrived at the campus. everyone wasn’t doing all too well (considering the incident that happened). jay hops off the bus, he goes to grab his bag, along with sunghoon, jake and nari’s. suddenly, he was pulled into a hug, a tiny figure hugging him tightly and he knew who it was.
“baby.” there were sniffles coming from you. he pulls you back and sees that there were tears streaming down your face.
“you could’ve been shot. why did my life have to turn out like this? i should’ve been involved with you. if i hadn’t fall in love with your stupidly handsome face during a minecraft session then you would’ve have been nearly hurt!” you rambled and rambled. jay wipes the tears falling and tilts your head up.
“hey. i’m fine, aren’t i? i wasn’t harmed. you don’t have to blame yourself.” he bumps your nose against his. you sniffled.
“yeah but-”
“no buts. i’m fine and you are too. both of us are okay so we’re okay. it wasn’t your fault that son of a bitch was insane.” you pout. jay lightly flicks your forehead. “there is no way in hell am i breaking up with you over this. besides, who will take care of our two minecraft cats?”
you whined and buried your face onto his chest. you heard a small gagging sound coming from behind you.
“you two are being too sappy. it’s disgusting.” ni-ki says.
“agreed.” sunoo says.
“i second this.” jungwon adds.
just as ni-ki turns his head to look over at heeseung and yvette, he notices that yvette was patting heeseung’s head. heeseung pouts, his large bambi eyes on display as he tries to look cute and innocent to yvette. “okay, not as bad at heeseung hyung and yvette noona.”
everything was okay now. kaito was going to jail and your relationship was definitely going to take a huge turn after this.
this was perfect…
(well, maybe too perfect. we need more funny time)

Price has had enough.
He could always tell when Simon was off. Be it a slight tick of his hands pulling down on his balaclava when he was nervous, the sudden stillness and slight head tilt he did when he was getting pissed or the silence he used when he was down.
Yeah. Price can always tell. It was like a rift in the usual waves around Ghost, and he can almost always tell 99.999% of the time what the other was feeling simply by noting the atmosphere change around the other man. He can tell everything from a mile away, even if Simon couldn’t himself.
So trust him when he says he knows Ghost wants to be closer to the taskforce. He sees it in how the three banter around, how Ghost allows Gaz to call him “the phantom of the opera” or how Soap is the only one who can whine to L.T about taking off his mask without having a gaping hole in his chest later. Or the unspoken rule of personal space suddenly being invaded as light pats, playful punches and mock hits are tolerated by Ghost without any alarm bells going off.
But Ghost, is shit at communication. At an unfathomable level. The lieutenant was sure the other two men must have recognised his reciprocation, his open fondness and soft spot for them. The fucking clueless bastard who didn’t know the first thing about normal behavior, Price thinks with love.
And he’d reached his limit with trying to let Simon do it his way.
So when they’re all down from a mission, Ghost making his way to exfil while the rest were already in the train, Price tells both his sergeants to just close their eyes. He’s met with a few dubious looks, but the tired expression on his face of trust me I know what I’m doing erases all doubts and they both do it.
The moment ghost’s voice clicks over comms, saying he’s made it out, Price sees both his sergeants relax, shoulders sagging as they let out a deep exhale, and smiles. All his boys cared about each other.
Gaz, who closes his eyes first, ends up falling asleep, lightly swaying with the motion to prevent himself from falling deeper. And Soap is well on his way under, his body stilling dangerously so for his normal state.
Price sits on the opposite seat, keeps his hat on his face to prevent Ghost from seeing his eyes, and lays back. To watch the chaos, of course. Ghost enters after a few minutes, his footsteps heavy before stopping, and then becoming impossibly soft, presumably because he sees them all asleep.
Price watches Ghost falter, THE Ghost look as uncertain and lost as a puppy, fidgeting as he tries to see where he can sit.
The bus starts, and the motion causes Gaz to almost slide off. But before Gaz can fully wake himself up to respond, Ghost catches him, takes the seat between the two sergeants, tightens his gentle grip around the other man, and allows him to rest his weight on Simon, to prevent him from moving any further.
Soap, half awake for all, this lifts his head a bit at the commotion, his battle with sleep was evident. He ends up trying to look at what is happening, before sleep wins and Johnny goes limp, head falling against Simon’s before he realises what happened and tries to lift himself, ending with his head falling back.
And Ghost once again, doesn’t let it. He lifts his shoulder to better support the other man’s neck, and tucks his chin over Soap’s head to keep him comfortable and safe. Soap is now practically leaning on Simon, the latter man for the first time in a long while not only allowing touch but initiating it.
The sergeants were safe and protected, both finally registering that Ghost indeed, had a soft spot for them, and made sure to keep including him in their warmth, making sure he knew he was a part of their family too.

17 and Stewart!! I can picture that one with him perfectly!
get cute with meet-ugly blurbs - requests closed! 17: “we make contact before trying to steal the last seat on the subway/bus/train and I end up in your lap and fuck you, I’m going to stay here because I’ve had a really long day and this seat was mine” Note: I am very well aware that this isn't the best thing...
Tumblr media
SEATBELT
Your vision line was impaired for a brief moment, but you could still feel his eyes on you; the way you were watched closely, your every move waited upon and calculated as if you were a puzzle that he was trying to solve. Your observations were just as canny, if not more, as you took a moment to take in your surroundings within an enclosed cabin of the subway to San Fransisco. The afternoon commute was busier than usual - passengers taking up every minuscule inch of occupancy, bodies feeding into the claustrophobia of limited seating. It was amazing how a sea of people from every platform could filter into such a small space so easily. Fresh air was non-existent and it caused your heart to thump and brows to furrow in distress. The knuckles of your right hand were screaming in pain from clutching the hanging strap too tight, and every bump the cabin passed caused your stature to falter and your footing to become unbalanced. Your time at work was bad enough as it was, but standing and waiting for a seat overtook every stressful event of your day with ease. Your eyes fluttered around for a vacant spot, but were met again with the large brown gaze that hid behind glass frames - the first time you saw them, your cheeks grew flushed, until you realised their motive. The owner, a man with matching annoyance clutching at every facial feature, was making sure that you didn't get the first seat before him. Smug bastard.
It was as if he could read your mind; his body stiffening, ready to pounce despite how his shoulder ached with a heavy bag that slung deeply. His day, too, was challenging - trying to meet quotas on a mind-blank of ideas wasn't something he often faced, yet it had been his daily norm for nearly a week. He desired to sit, to rest his legs and to take that relieving deep breath that was much warranted when the evening came. Nobody else in your peripherals was awake enough for a battle of comfort, which made this fight fit best for the quickest and most cunning.
The next stop was approaching and people began to stand as they awaited their further commute home. Your surroundings shifted, bodies repositioning as they slid around you like Tetris - confined tensions forcing your eyes closed as you drew a deep breath. You loved your job, truly, but the hour commute to and from was less than ideal. You were forced in between strangers and moments away from your throat closing with nervous energy before the train finally began slowing its pace, and you released relieving exhale of panicked breath in time with the opening of your carriage doors.
Congestion was imminent, however, your brief layover finally allowed carriage breathing room - and the possibility of the much-awaited available spot. As people began to vacate, you spotted a free seat and it was as if your heart sang in solace with laser-eyed focus and feet ready to lunge. You held on to your bag tightly as you pressed forward, small pleasantries slipping past your lips as you dodged other passengers.
You could feel the soft seating before you even sat down, you were dreaming of it for the past thirty minutes - but the plushness of the seat wasn't what you expected when you realised that the man with the glasses and observant eyes was where you managed to place yourself. Your own eyes widened in shock, voice unable to emit after you glanced down to his cocky smirk.
With a small growl, your brows furrowed at him, "No, no! This is my seat, go somewhere else."
"Sorry sweetheart, I was here first." His voice was mocking, a daring tone that effortlessly portrayed just how much he didn't care. To further affirm his unwillingness to move, the stranger's body sunk snugly against the padded bench with a loud and restful sigh. His competitiveness continued to shine through with a cocky quirk of his lips, "I'm not giving this up."
Fire burned in your eyes, an anger brewing that started much earlier in your day. You were exhausted and irritated, and games were far from what you were prepared to face at this moment. A pout prompted your lips to purse and brows to drop, and for a second you felt like a four-year-old standing their ground during a tantrum.
"Well, I'm not, either."
The man just nodded, quick to ignore your presence as he pulled his phone from his jacket pocket and began immersing himself in the small screen. You couldn't decide what was more awkward - the fact that he wasn't acknowledging your place on his lap or the way that you were sitting to the curve of his knees in absolute unsteadiness. One rickety bump and you'd find yourself on the floor.
Fate wasn't on your side; a running gag that life decided to throw at you once again today, in the form of the old train rocking and your legs sliding away from the glasses-wearing stranger. You expected the embarrassment of numerous eyes watching you collide with the cabin floor, but it never came as arms wrapped around your waist and pulled you backwards.
It took a second for you to realise that the outside of your thigh was snug against the stranger's stomach, his hands now flat over your side and against the bottom curve of your ribs as he held you close to him. He was your human seatbelt, holding you back and keeping you safe. It provoked warmth to shoot through your veins, to awaken the butterflies in your stomach and to colour the rosiness in your cheeks. It felt nice, despite the fact that he was a stranger with a stupid smug smile and filled with utter cockiness.
"Woah, nearly lost you there." He mumbled, a softness peeking through. It was easy to follow the caramel swirl of his eyes as they gazed over your face for any sort of discomfort, but you both seemed in the clear, and his shoulders dropped in relief. They looked down for a brief second before he smiled again, "Us googlers gotta stick together, you know."
Your head tilted to the side, every ounce of your focus now directed only toward him, "What?"
"Your lanyard." Hesitantly, he pulled a hand away from your side and tugged at the multicoloured fabric dangling from your neck, a plastic key card with a four-month-old photo of you sitting to the side. When he saw you following his touch, he hastily found his own within his zipped-up jumper and dangled it between you both. "Got a matching one. We're practically family."
Black letters caught your eyes first, the name of the man filling in another puzzle piece as you said it aloud, "Stuart Twombly, software development."
"That's me." He replied, a wink dropping behind his glasses and hold absentmindedly tightening as another small bump disrupted the cabin. Everything was coming together for you; no wonder he seemed full of himself, a handful of people you know from that department certainly have a big head and a matching ego. Your mind awoke from your thoughts when you felt your lanyard tugging again. Stuart hummed, "Y/N L/N, accounting. Interesting."
"How so?" You said quickly, offence already settling in your voice.
"You just got to be really smart to be an accountant for one of the biggest companies in the world."
Your head shook as your body readjusted yourself on his lap, "I'm not an accountant... yet. It's just a paid internship. But I'm sure you don't want to hear about any of that - "
"An internship?" Stuart's eyes lit up, his smile genuine as the corners of his lips lifted, "I know a thing or two about internships, try me."

"One Emo Latte, with Extra Soulmates"
All Five Chapters - Or Read on AO3
Roll the Poll fic 1: Janus, Virgil, and Remy in a triad. In a Hurt/Comfort fic with a Soulmates universe and the prompt ‘housing’.
Content warning for kidnapping, fear of death, mild self-injury, quite a bit of cursing, as well as societal and specific poly-phobia.
Virgil’s head nodded and he jerked it upright. He’d hoped the smell of coffee would keep him awake, but he’d been nodding off ever since midnight.
“Heya, babes,” the barista said, giving him a wry, apologetic smile.
Virgil knew immediately why he was there. “Two hours again already?”
Remy nodded, peeking at Virgil over his shades. “Why don’t you head home and get some sleep? You could certainly use it.”
Virgil sighed, his inhibitions broken down by the lack of sleep and the way his favorite barista had allowed him to nod off in the corner all night, only following protocol when necessary. Namely, that a customer had to buy something every two hours, or else be asked to leave.
“I’m having… housing difficulties…” Virgil admitted, not willing to share any more.
Remy put a hand on his hip, considering Virgil. He then glanced around the cafe, confirming that it was empty. He sat down across from Virgil.
“We may be open 24 hours, but this really isn’t a great option.”
Virgil nodded. “Yeah, I know. I can— I can just go.”
“Hold on, bitch. I’m not kicking you out. Just trying to help you find a place to sleep.”
Virgil shrugged helplessly. “I don’t have much cash for a hotel or something.”
“What about your soulmate?” Remy asked. “I’m sure they’ll be willing to put you up for a night.” He winked at Virgil. “Pretty lil emo down on his luck, I’d tap that too.”
The flirty joke pulled a half grin out of Virgil. “I haven’t met him yet,” he admitted.
Remy shrugged. “Loads of soulmates are close to each other before they meet. Scribble down the address of the cafe. See if he shows up. Here, I’ve got a pen.”
Virgil took the pen, staring at it doubtingly.
Remy stood and stretched. “I need some caffeine in me too. I’ll treat you for this one.”
Virgil’s eyes went wide and he gaped at Remy. “No, you don’t have to do that!”
Remy just waved a hand dismissively in his direction, already going behind the counter and starting to pull out cups.
Virgil’s gaze was drawn to the pen again. He didn’t really dare to ask his soulmates for help. Not writing on his skin in public. They too clearly had different handwriting. Were too clearly Two.
It was the very reason he was out here now. Slipping up and referring to plural soulmates. His roommates didn’t want someone near them with two soulmates. No one did.
He’d been stopping by this cafe for over a year now, had made friends with Remy. He didn’t want to throw that away on a chance of a bed. He’d manage. He’d be fine. Somehow.
Maybe he’d try to get back inside the apartment anyway. Just cause his roommates didn’t like it, it wasn’t like they would physically force him out, right? If he just stayed in his room. Kept the door locked. He already wore long shirts and pants. As long as his soulmates didn’t screw him over with writing on his hands or face or something.
Remy came back, setting a steaming cup in front of Virgil. A to-go cup.
“Any responses?” Remy asked.
Virgil forced a smile. “Yeah, um, I’ve gotta get on the next bus, but he’ll meet me.”
“There you go!” Remy praised. “Have a nice night, practice safe sex, tell me all about it at some reasonable hour.”
Virgil stood up, taking the cup and laughing along with Remy. He left the cafe, abandoning the warm lit environment for the empty streets.
Someone entered just as he was leaving. Virgil only got a brief glimpse of him, but he was very unique, especially wearing a hat like that.
••^*^••
Remy huffed as Janus entered. And just after Virgil left too. He usually got a bit of time to chill on an overnight shift.
“Oh, and I’m just overjoyed to see you too,” Janus said smoothly, leaning against the counter with an entirely too attractive grin.
Remy rolled his eyes. “What’s your snakey ass doing bothering me at bitch o'clock in the morning?”
“A man can get a coffee, can’t he?” Janus purred, looking perfectly innocent.
“Not you,” Remy snarked, already starting to make Janus’s favorite.
Janus just smiled.
“Why are you really here?” Remy pushed.
Janus looked at his wrist, noticeably lacking in a watch. “Oh dear, what time is it?”
Remy scowled. “No.”
Janus looked back up at him, all innocence. “No? I genuinely do not have the time.”
Remy gritted his teeth. “You know someday I will not do this for you.”
Janus batted his eyelashes.
Remy shoved his coffee at him. “You’re lucky you’re pretty, bastard. It’s 4:27 am.”
Janus smirked triumphantly. “I was just chatting with you and sipping my coffee till 5.”
“Bitch.”
Janus wiggled his gloved fingers in Remy’s direction, sauntering out of the cafe. “I’ll owe you~”
“You better pay up this time, asshole!” Remy snapped at his back.
Fucking pretty ass Janus. And fuck his own crush on the man! He’d never have been dragged into all this if he could just keep it in his pants.
••^*^••
Janus arrived at the location. Why Remus had ever decided they had to meet up here was a mystery. As were most things about the man.
But. It was within walking distance of that cafe where Remy worked, so he had an easy alias and no license plate to track. His hat kept his face out of view from any cameras he didn’t discover ahead of time and avoid. It was early enough in the morning that both night owls and early risers were likely to be in bed.
Janus waited outside the apartments, putting himself in the shadow of a large ornamental shrub. Just a few minutes later a car drove up.
“Heya, Jan!” Remus greeted, throwing open the driver side door.
Janus grimaced at his volume, snapping in hushed tones. “Would you keep it down?”
Remus rolled his eyes obnoxiously, and then fished out a folder. “I got all the juicy details for you~”
Janus accepted the folder, flicking through it rapidly just to confirm Remus hadn’t swapped it with some folder of which sex toys he preferred or some nonsense.
“I appreciate it,” Janus said. “I’ll pay you the usual—“
He cut off as there was suddenly a loud crash from inside the nearest apartment. Janus cursed. This was why he would have preferred a different meeting location!
Remus craned his neck, trying to sneak a peek through the apartment window. “Oh this is perfect! Any suspicious persons’ reports will point right to those guys.”
Janus tensed, despite Remus’s optimism, as yelling continued from in the apartment. It was too muffled for him to tell what was going on, but he didn’t care to know either.
“We should get out of here,” Janus said.
Just then, the door to the apartment opened, and someone was pushed roughly out, falling to the pavement.
“Don’t let me see your freak ass again or I Will beat the shit out of you!” A man from within the apartment yelled, slamming the door shut.
Janus winced. He did not want to be a part of some domestic dispute. He turned to walk away, even if Remus was going to be an idiot and stay to watch.
But then the crumpled man on the ground said something that stopped Janus in his tracks.
Just one word. A simple, “You?” Implying recognition.
Fuck.
Janus didn’t know the man from Adam. But he was not allowing someone to see him, in this location, at this time, knowing who he was somehow. No. He could not leave witnesses.
He turned to Remus. “Help me.”
Remus, showing off one of his brief streaks of competency, scrambled out of the car and dashed the few feet towards the man.
Janus slid into the driver’s seat just as Remus pulled the struggling man into the backseat, one hand covering his mouth. He sped out of the apartment complex, taking roads with less cameras and getting out of the town.
Fuck, what was he going to do now?!
Chapter Two
Virgil was going to die.
He’d thought he could just slip into the apartment and to his room with everyone asleep, but Roger was still up, and saw him immediately. He confronted Virgil, ruining all plans of laying low as his words quickly became yelling. Virgil tried to defend himself, that he couldn’t help how many soulmates he had, and he hadn’t even met them! But Roger didn’t care. He wanted Virgil out.
Virgil, with a confidence built only of the coffee he could still taste on his tongue, had refused to leave. He’d thought that, angry as they might get, his roommates wouldn’t actually escalate to physically pushing him out.
Oh how wrong that was.
His ribs still ached from the several hits they’d absorbed before he’d been shoved out the door. And his head was spinning and aching from the impact against the coffee table.
And also the fact that he was going to die.
That guy with the hat was doing some, some drug deal or something, who knew, and Virgil like a supreme dumbass had opened his mouth.
Tall, big, and stinky had grabbed him, an arm wrapped around both of his, pinning them to his torso, and the other hand clamped over his nose and mouth. He couldn’t scream, couldn’t get the breath to. All his kicking and wriggling hadn’t been enough before he was pulled into the car.
And now they were driving away.
He was So Dead.
The guy holding him shifted the hand over his face once the car was moving, uncovering his nose so Virgil could breathe freely. He sucked in air, tears beginning to leak from his eyes.
He was the fucking worst, unluckiest son of a bitch to ever exist. Two soulmates, homeless now, kidnapped. And they didn’t have masks on. No masks meant he could recognize them, and they wouldn’t leave him alive.
He was going to die.
He didn’t want to die!
His whole life he’d been looked down on or bullied for having two soulmates but he’d never even met them! He wanted to at least see them before he died.
Virgil’s breath came faster, catching in his congested nose and making him panic. He needed to breathe! He couldn’t breathe!
His chest heaved with sobs and his desperate attempts to get air.
“Might get loud,” the man holding him said, and then abruptly the hand over Virgil’s mouth was gone.
Virgil gasped, drinking in the air. Without the cover over his mouth his sobs rang out loud in the otherwise silent car. If he wasn’t so thoroughly miserable and about to die anyway he would’ve been embarrassed, might’ve managed to stop himself, but he just couldn’t.
“I don’t wanna— Please, don’t kill me!” He forced out between sobs.
“We’re not going to kill you,” the driver snapped.
He didn’t know if he could believe it. But even without a single assurance that it was the truth, relief flooded through Virgil.
“I didn’t see anything,” he blurted. “I-I don’t have a clue who you are. I don’t know what you were doing. I d-don’t know anything. I swear I won’t tell anyone anything!”
The driver made a frustrated sound. “Just— shut up.”
Virgil fell silent, other than his breath coming in hiccuping half-sobs.
“What is our plan, Jannie?” The man holding him asked.
The driver made a rough, growling sound. “For now, I’m getting us out of town. We’ll have to find a way to manage him without you carrying him everywhere so I can drop you off. I’ll figure out what to do from there. And I’ll need to keep the car.”
“I’ve got duct tape!” The man said, entirely too happily.
Virgil squirmed against his hold, trying to get his arms free to— to— to make a nuisance of himself at least. Of the two men, one had recognized his need to breathe, and the other had told him to shut up. He liked his living chances better with both of them than just the one.
But the man holding Virgil was far too strong for him to fight against, and soon Virgil was pressed down into a car seat, his arms pulled behind his back. He bit back another sob as his wrists were taped together, and then the tape wound around his torso and arms haphazardly.
“Check him for anything dangerous,” the driver said. “And anything he could use to contact someone.”
A chill ran down Virgil’s spine. He was gonna die anyway, wasn’t he?
••^*^••
Janus’s mind had been nothing but a steady stream of ‘Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck’ ever since he’d heard the crash in that apartment.
Now he had a man tied up in the car, terrified for his life, and no idea what to do with him.
Now that he had the folder, Janus’s plans had been to buckle down and work on the contents. It would take him days, and that was if he managed to be fast enough. He didn’t have Time for a problem like this!
And even if he Had time, that still left the question of what was he going to do?? He couldn’t let him go, that was obvious. He definitely wasn’t going to kill him. The only other option seemed to be keeping him, but that wasn’t at all viable long term.
At least for the moment though, Janus couldn’t see any other options.
Remus had flipped up the man’s hood over his eyes, so he couldn’t look out and around at where they were as they approached a place where Janus could drop Remus off. He also properly buckled him in before he got out, a thing he ought to have done ages ago. Since then, the man had been quiet.
Janus drove, looping around and doubling back multiple times on his way to his house. The less the man knew about where they were and how to get back, the better.
Janus sighed heavily as he parked. His gut was already twisted in knots, his conscience screaming with how much he’d already done to this random person. And here he was about to scare him more.
He pulled out the gun he knew Remus had hidden in the car, pointing it at the man, held low enough that he could see it under the hood.
The man stiffened, but Janus didn’t give him time to beg for his life again. He didn’t think he’d manage to hold onto him at all if he did. He was cursed with a bleeding heart and if this man begged again he might just let him go and fuck all the consequences.
“You’re going to stay quiet.” Janus commanded. “You’re going to come with me into the building, and you’re going to do everything I say.”
The man nodded rapidly, his breathing getting fast and shallow.
“I don’t want to bother keeping this gun pointed at you the whole time, but be assured I will always have it on hand.”
The man nodded again.
Janus tucked the gun into his waistband, wishing he’d had the forethought to bring a holster. Then he got out of the car. When he opened the back door, the man stayed silent, as he’d been told to. Janus undid the buckle and guided him into the house.
He breathed slightly easier once he was inside the house with the door locked.
Now what?
He couldn’t just start in on work with curious eyes wandering around.
It was nearly seven now. Maybe he’d make breakfast.
He knew he was just continuing to push the real problem down the road, but he hadn’t come up with any answers.
Janus left the man standing in the dining room and started looking through his fridge. He wanted something that would take a bit of time. Push that problem just a bit further before he reached a point where he had to deal with it.
He finally pulled out some vegetables and started chopping them. He took his time slowly making complex omelets, only looking towards his captive when the man maneuvered his way to the floor to sit.
Unfortunately, even after the long cooking, Janus didn’t have any better ideas. This was so far out of the realm of what he expected he’d never planned for it, never considered it before.
He carried the plates into the dining room and set them at the table. He helped pull the man up so he could sit in a proper chair. Then he flipped back his hood.
It was the first real look he’d gotten at the man’s face. Janus swallowed. His… very pretty face. If he wasn’t careful this would be Remy all over again, only worse because he’d already drug this man so deep into his mess he couldn’t see a way to get him out again.
Janus’s second reaction was pity. The man was blinking in the brighter light, out from under the shade of his hood, and his face was tearstained and red, streaked with black eyeshadow. Janus also noticed a large bump near the back of his head.
He gently probed it, concerned as the man winced, trying to duck away from his hand. This was recent. Remus hadn’t knocked him around any. It must have been in the commotion in the apartment.
Janus went back to the kitchen. He got a cloth and dampened it, then also got an ice pack.
“If I take off the tape, you will not attempt to attack me or run away,” Janus said. He’d found that in many cases, phrasing questions as statements and statements as questions tended to throw off the other person, and he got what he wanted more easily.
The man nodded silently. Janus remembered that he’d told him to be quiet earlier. He moved behind the man, cutting at the tape with scissors. “You’re welcome to speak, so long as you aren’t loud.”
“Thanks,” the man muttered.
“Are you in pain?” Janus asked, considering whether this was a simple ice and ibuprofen type of situation, or whether he would need to attempt further first aid.
The man shrugged, picking up the cloth and cleaning his face, then holding the ice pack to the bump on his head.
Janus rolled his eyes at the non-response. “Would you object to taking painkillers?”
That prompted a quiet, “No.”
Janus retrieved the bottle, opening it in plain view so it could be seen he wasn’t switching the pills with anything. He got two cups of water, and then sat down to eat his own, rather cool by now, breakfast.
“What’s gonna happen now?” The man asked, looking up at Janus.
His gaze was piercing, possibly even more so because he didn’t intend it to be. Janus feigned nonchalance.
“I’m not telling you. You’ll find out as it happens.”
He could see a faint shudder run through the man. He didn’t have a better answer though, for him or for himself.
••^*^••
Remy had been thinking about Virgil ever since he left. He hoped it had gone well, getting picked up by his soulmate.
It drew his mind to his own soulmates. At a young age they’d come to realize how dangerous it was to be three, and they tried to spare each other the danger.
He didn’t know either of their names. Didn’t know where they lived. What they did for work. Nothing. He hadn’t even contacted them in several weeks.
He wanted to.
The desire built up over the remainder of his shift, and when he got home Remy caved to it.
He scrawled in sharpie, high up on his thigh where it wouldn’t be easily noticed regardless of what he chose to wear, Heya. How’s it going?
Chapter Three
Virgil noticed the note on his thigh when he used the bathroom. It gave him an idea. A brief flutter of hope.
His phone might have been taken from him, but if he could manage to contact his soulmates, maybe he could get help.
He exited the bathroom, and immediately his captor’s gaze was on him, watching as Virgil returned to the couch. He didn’t seem to be unkind. He’d given Virgil food, and painkillers, and hadn’t hurt him. Was even letting him walk around this house without being tied up.
And it was a house. Not like an abandoned warehouse or a back alley or any of the other scary locations Virgil had expected to end up in. He might… not die?
His captor was still incredibly intimidating though, and was keeping a close eye on Virgil. He didn’t know where to find a pen or a marker, and even if he did, he was sure he’d be discovered with whatever he wrote on his skin.
But if he did something temporary maybe?
Virgil tentatively laid down on the couch. His captor watched him do it, but then went back to reading through some paperwork of some kind. Virgil rolled over, facing the back of the couch.
It made his skin crawl to have his back to the man, but he had a purpose for it. It gave him just a bit of cover, just enough hopefully.
Virgil pushed his sleeve up. He was going to dare to do this on his arm. He knew his soulmates mostly wore clothes that covered skin, but if any part of them would catch their attention, forearm was a safe bet.
Taking his thumbnail, Virgil pressed hard into his skin, dragging the nail to make a white line in his skin. The white quickly became an irritated red, but he knew from experience that the red would be gone in just a few minutes. He slowly made more lines on his skin, trying to keep his movements small so he wouldn’t be noticed.
Help
••^*^••
Remy stared at the faint red lines on his forearm as they appeared. He’d noticed around the time the H was completed, while he was changing into pajamas to sleep the day away. His curiosity quickly turned to concern as the word finished.
He grabbed a pen, scribbling onto his wrist.
How?
As he watched, waiting, the Help faded on his arm. Definitely not red pen. That… that definitely seemed worse.
In response, he got a slow and scratchy-looking number. A phone number.
Well. Remy could definitely call.
The phone rung multiple times, eventually going to voicemail, unanswered.
“Hey, this is Virgil. I missed you somehow, but just send a text or leave a message and I’ll try and get back to you later.”
Remy frowned, confused and more than a little unbelieving. Virgil?? What did Virgil have to do with this?? With one of his soulmates? But it was definitely his voice.
Virgil was supposed to be on a bus right about now, maybe even picked up already by his own soulmate. Maybe Virgil’s soulmate was nearby to Remy’s soulmate? This was all just so weird and confusing.
Remy next tried texting.
Hey, everything alright?
The response he got back alarmed him even more, though it didn’t remove any of his confusion.
Hello. He’s at the hospital. Unconscious, but stable. He was in a car accident. I’m informing his family and work through his contacts, and then turning the phone off. He won’t be able to come in for a few days.
Remy stared at the text for a long few minutes. So Virgil didn’t have his own phone. He’d never talk like that. And whoever did seemed to think that Remy was someone from his job? And he was in the hospital?!!
Remy wrote on his wrist, just under the how?
 ???
He didn’t have any better ideas of what to write.
There was no response. Not for a while.
Then finally.
Help
Please
Remy started looking online to see if there were any way to track someone based on just a phone number.
••^*^••
Janus didn’t know why he hadn’t considered that of course the man had a job. They’d both startled when the phone rang, and the man had cringed into the couch, rapidly throwing out any number of apologies for being called by his boss, as if Janus was going to fault him for that.
Janus had figured out something to send back, and sent it to the top few contacts on the phone just in case before turning it completely off.
What was he supposed to do now?
Surely people would begin looking for the man sooner than later. And Janus could manage to whisk him into hiding, but that would be a lot of work. And… he wasn’t sure he could handle it, emotionally. The longer this went on, the worse he felt.
He wasn’t cut out to be a kidnapper. Certainly not a kidnapper of a random handsome stranger. If he’d hated the man, perhaps he would be managing this better.
An idea was beginning to form though. An idiotic idea. A stupid, horrible, terrible, dangerous idea.
If he could get the man on his side, he wouldn’t need to hold him captive. On the other hand, if the man was absolutely against rights for people with multiple soulmates, well, it would be easier for Janus to hate him.
On the dangerous side, if the man was smart and had an ounce of self-preservation, he’d go along with everything Janus said, at least verbally, and then go straight to the police as soon as he was released.
The real question was if the danger of that outweighed the twisting in his gut every time he scared the man. Janus was way too fucking soft for this. He should’ve kept Remus here.
Janus sighed. He was an over-emotional fool.
••^*^••
Virgil was trying hard to stay calm. It wasn’t working.
His soulmate had actually called. Really and truly. And then his captor had sent some kind of message in response and had turned his phone off. Virgil hoped he’d convinced him that it was just work calling cause he was late. But he hoped more that his soulmate could actually do something with the little information.
Only one soulmate had responded to his desperate messages, but with such a short time on his skin, he wasn’t surprised that the other hadn’t noticed.
His arm tingled unpleasantly, the skin irritated and tender.
Suddenly, his captor let out a sigh. Virgil tensed as the man closed his folder and turned his attention entirely towards Virgil.
Virgil carefully sat up.
“I imagine you are aware that it is possible to have more than one soulmate,” his captor said.
A tremor ran through Virgil. Oh shit. Oh shit, oh shit, he wasn’t kidnapped randomly cause he witnessed the deal. He was kidnapped for having two soulmates, this was So Much Worse! And he’d gone and asked one of his soulmates for help!! They’d be pulled into this!
His captor’s lips pressed together. He continued speaking. “Having multiple soulmates is estimated to occur in 0.67% of people. Though many of those hide this fact, so the percentage may well be inaccurate.”
Virgil hesitantly nodded. He had to try and stay on this man’s good side.
“The reason it’s often a hidden fact is that society frowns heavily on those with multiple soulmates,” his captor said, emotion flickering over his face. An emotion Virgil never expected. Something like… grief?
“Many people don’t know until they run into it that there are laws restricting actions by those with multiple soulmates, particularly if it can be proven that the individual has multiple.”
Virgil actually didn’t know that. He’d heard rumors, but had always just tried to lay low himself.
“Because of societal standards, it’s incredibly hard to change these laws… through normal avenues.”
Virgil swallowed. This sounded an awful lot like telling him about illegal things. He’d be an accomplice. Maybe. He wasn’t entirely sure how that worked. But regardless, he’d never be allowed to live once he heard about illegal plans.
He couldn’t deny his curiosity, but more than that he was scared. He covered his ears with his hands.
“I-I don’t know why you’re telling me this!” Virgil blurted. “Look, good for you trying to help us, but don’t tell me illegal shit! The more you tell me the more I can tell police, and I’m not an idiot, I know you can’t just let that go. I don’t wanna end up dead, stop telling me things that’ll make me end up dead!”
He finally managed to shut himself up. He’d never intended to say all that. He glanced up at his captor’s face, expecting a scowl, or even the gun pointed at him again. But instead there was a sort of pleased shock.
“Us?”
Virgil’s face drained of blood. “N-no, I didn’t mean that. I meant to say them. Them.”
The man grinned. “You definitely said us.”
“I didn’t!” Virgil protested. “Or I didn’t mean to!”
“You have multiple soulmates,” the man said, his grin widening.
“I do not!” Virgil yelled, accidentally breaking the ‘be quiet’ rule. “I don’t! I-I-I’m normal! I’m not a—“ his voice cracked, and he swiped angrily at his eyes, which were leaking again.
The man’s expression softened. “It’s alright,” he said gently.
“It’s not!” Virgil argued. Why he was being an idiot and getting angry and upset and arguing when the man across from him had a gun he had no idea. But he couldn’t seem to help it. Feelings were rushing up from his chest, pouring out his throat. “It’s not ok! It’s never been ok! People always hate you for it and I can’t… I haven’t even met them!”
He was crying. He swiped his sleeves over his face.
“Why does everyone hate me for it? I didn’t even get to meet them. Everyone else gets to find their soulmate! Everyone else gets a happy ever after! Why do they fucking hate me so bad!?”
At some point the other man had moved from his chair across from Virgil to sitting on the couch next to him. He took the hand Virgil was tugging at his hair with, loosening his grip on the strands.
“I have multiple too,” he said, his voice barely more than a whisper, hard to hear over the harsh breaths stuttering out of Virgil’s mouth.
“I didn’t even get to meet them,” Virgil repeated, the words coming out in a whimper.
“You should’ve gotten to,” the man said.
The words seemed to ring in Virgil’s mind, not quite sinking in, but refusing to leave.
“You deserve to meet your soulmates,” the man said firmly. “You deserve to get to love them. To be near them. Just as much as anyone else.”
Virgil stared at him, the validation cracking a dam he’d long held within him, emotion flooding out and overwhelming his already strained system. He lurched forward, clinging for comfort to a source he never would’ve considered.
The man let him cling, even wrapped his own arms around Virgil, gently shushing him and telling him it would all be ok.
Chapter Four
Janus wasn’t sure how this had happened. But he’d held the man while he cried, and now he had another damp cloth, wiping his face.
“I’m sorry. I don’t know why I’m like this. I guess I just haven’t slept and…” the man trailed off, hugging one of Janus’s throw pillows to his stomach.
“Would you like me to take you home?” Janus asked. He hadn’t thought it through. But he didn’t regret it either. Regardless of what he chose to do next, this man didn’t deserve to be held captive and scared.
The man’s face cycled from surprise back to teary. “I don’t have one anymore.”
Janus pressed his lips together. Well, he had seen the man forcefully kicked out.
“You’re welcome to stay if you like. As a guest. I won’t force you. Or if there’s somewhere you’d like me to take you?”
The man’s face scrunched up, clearly caught between gratitude and suspicion. “Why would you do that?”
Janus gave him a small smile and a shrug. “You’re like me. If I’m going to fight for us, how could I then hurt one of us?”
“But—but I still saw your weird deal. A-and I can recognize you. I could tell the cops and— you definitely shouldn’t just let me go.”
Janus’s smile became wry. “I’ll have to take the chance that you won’t.”
The man just looked disbelieving.
Janus set down his cloth. “I won’t ask that we start over. I’ve already done more than I expect to be forgiven for. But perhaps we could try introductions? My name is Janus.”
Despite his disbelief, after a moment the man held out a hand. “Virgil.”
Janus shook it gently. “I’m glad to make your acquaintance, Virgil. Would you honor me by being my guest? If you haven’t slept, there’s a bed you’re welcome to use.”
Virgil rubbed his eyes with his sleeves. “It’s not fair to kidnap someone and then be all nice. Giving off real mixed signals.”
Janus couldn’t help chuckling. “I should not have kidnapped you. I’m truly sorry.”
Virgil shrugged. “You had to. Someone saw you doing illegal shit. This is the weird part.”
Janus kept chuckling, something traitorous in his chest doing little flips. “I’m well aware.”
Virgil blinked, slowly, and Janus could see as tiredness began beating his inhibitions.
“I think… yeah. I might take you up on the bed. Would you…” The spark of fear returned to his eyes for a moment. “Would you put the gun somewhere? Out of reach.”
Janus nodded solemnly. At some point, he would explain to Virgil that this particular gun was incapable of shooting, but this didn’t seem like the time.
Janus stood, offering a hand to help Virgil up. Virgil didn’t take his hand, but did follow as Janus directed him to the bedroom. Janus left him alone and went back to work, but he was unable to get him out of his mind.
••^*^••
Virgil curled up on the bed, feeling awkward about laying in someone else’s bedroom. The exhaustion was tugging at him far more than the awkwardness, however, and he was slowly relaxing.
His mind was still full of swirling emotions, but fear had retreated to one of the smallest. The man- Janus, was definitely still doing illegal shit, but he was trying to help people with multiple soulmates. He may have kidnapped Virgil, but looking back, about the worst thing he actually did to him was to tie him up with tape and threaten him with a gun.
Virgil frowned. Those were definitely bad things. So why was his brain trying to say they paled in comparison to what he’d said? Actions were definitely more telling than words.
But those words.
You deserve to meet your soulmates.
You deserve to get to love them. To be near them.
They’d pierced somewhere deep within Virgil, letting light and air in, allowing him to want. And now he couldn’t stop himself from wanting.
He felt he might owe Janus something deeper and more important than the kidnapping.
And his mental image of Janus had shifted from the terrifying stranger in an odd hat, and now was all warm chest and soft words. And acceptance.
They were alike. They both had multiple soulmates. Virgil had never met anyone else with multiple soulmates, at least not knowingly. Having his deepest secret not only known, but shared. It screwed up his self-protective instincts, already putting Janus as part of Us, when he should undeniably be a Them.
Virgil’s brain flitted over the idea of helping Janus, and he tried desperately to cut off that possibility entirely. He was not about to get himself into criminal business just because a handsome man was just like him and trying to help and… oh fuck he was genuinely considering it.
Virgil buried his face in the nearest pillow. This was idiotic. This was death wish levels of stupid. He should not be considering this!! He’d just been kidnapped by the man for fuck’s sake!
••^*^••
It had been nearly an hour of Remy trying to figure out how to use a phone number to track a person. He’d stumbled across more information about Virgil than the anxious man would ever be comfortable knowing could be found on the internet, but no way of tracking where his phone was at the moment.
And still the minutes kept trickling by.
There were no new messages. Remy kept his sleeve rolled up, and checked it every few minutes just in case, but nothing.
He was getting more and more concerned, both for his unknown soulmate, and for Virgil.
He had one more option, either to help him, or to convince him that everything would be fine. Janus.
Janus owed him anyway.
And if he was in the cafe wanting an alibi the night before, he was almost sure to be holed up in his house ignoring all attempts to contact him. So Remy would have to go to him.
That decided, Remy grabbed one of his emergency cold coffees from the fridge and got into his car.
Janus’s house was maybe 20 minutes away. Remy kept his sleeve pulled high, glancing away from the road on occasion in case of further messages.
He unlocks Janus’s door without bothering to knock first.
“Jay! Gotta problem here.”
Janus comes quickly around the corner, concern and alarm plain on his face. “What happened? Are you alright?”
Remy gestures to his arm. “I am, but apparently my soulmate isn’t, and it’s got some weird crazy thing to do with my friend Virgil, and you’d better have some cool illegal way to track a bitch, cause I am not used to being a worrier and I hate it!”
Janus blinked several times at the barrage of words. Remy cursed at his slow uptake. “Come on, Jay! Open your little bag of tricks and help me out here.”
“Virgil?” Janus asked, apparently painfully slow today.
Remy groaned loudly. “Yes. I’ve told you about him before. And apparently I’ve got a soulmate near him, cause I was sent his number and a message for help.”
Janus takes his hand, frowning down at his arm, bare of everything other than what he’d written himself.
There’s the sound of a door from further in the house, and Remy has only a moment to wonder who Janus has over when a very familiar figure comes around the corner.
“Remy?” Virgil asks, and then when he sees him, “Remy!”
Virgil unexpectedly runs forward and grips Remy around the waist. They hadn’t really… hugged before. So it’s strange, but Remy’s concern being suddenly relieved at seeing Virgil unhurt outweighs that. He wraps a protective arm around Virgil.
“Oh hell, nah. There’s some major explaining to do.” Seeing Janus looking guilty, Remy jabs a finger at him, sloshing the remainder of his drink inside the cup. “You. Talk. Now.”
Janus abruptly looks even more guilty.
Virgil suddenly gasped, grabbing at Remy’s arm and staring. Before Remy can explain about his soulmate’s messages, Virgil is shoving his own sleeve up, holding it close to compare.
Remy stared with wide eyes. It was Virgil. Virgil was his soulmate. One of them, anyway.
“Oh, you lied to me,” he breathed out, not genuinely upset. He understood lying about multiple soulmates. He’d done the same himself many times.
Suddenly, several things clicked together in his head, and he rounded on Janus. “What the hell did you do?!”
Janus raised both hands. “There’s a whole story to it, Rem—“
Remy stepped forward, backing Janus against a wall, using his extra few inches to loom over him. “Better start telling then.”
“I’m fine… now,” Virgil said, sounding almost defensive of Janus.
Remy’s eyebrows shot up. There was some Tea here. And he was Going to be told All of it.
After a full explanation, Remy stood above Janus, his arms crossed. Janus looked supremely guilty, as he Was.
Remy grabbed his arm, shoving the sleeve up. As he now expected, his scrawl was on Janus’s wrist as well.
“I told you we should check if we were soulmates!” He exclaimed.
Janus just stared with wide eyes, awe taking over his expression. He reached out softly to Virgil, comparing his arm to his as well.
Virgil was just looking back and forth between the two of them with shock and wonder.
“Alright babes,” Remy said authoritatively. “This is how it’s gonna go. You,” he pointed at Janus. “Are going to pull out your first aid kit and we’ll check Virgil over for any hurt he got from that asshole he used to call a roommate. Then you’re going to give us your bedroom for a nap, and treat us both to a good lunch when we wake up from a nap. After that, and only after, will we start to consider forgiving you.”
Janus grimaced, but to his credit, he knew when it wasn’t the time to argue.
“You,” he turned on Virgil. “Are going to show us everywhere that hurts. Once I’m convinced that you’re properly ok, then it’s nap time. I’ll let you make your own decisions on Janus after. As far as I’m concerned, he’s sleeping on the couch tonight and owes me about a hundred coffees.”
Janus was starting to look genuinely dejected, and Remy grabbed his collar, pulling him in for a deep kiss.
“Tonight we talk about being soulmates,” he said more gently. “And how we want to play that.”
Virgil grabbed Remy’s hand in one of his, and Janus’s with the other. His eyes were shining. He didn’t say anything, but he squeezed both their hands tightly.
Well! Discovering two of his favorite people were his soulmates. Not a bad day.
Chapter Five
~one month later~
Virgil read the paper carefully, studying each word at a time. He highlighted a line before passing it to Janus.
“This bit reads oddly.”
Janus looked at it, and his nose wrinkled. “That bit was original.”
Virgil scrunched his face up. “That’s been in the law?”
Janus shrugged, the look of disgust on his face apparent. “There’s a reason I’m changing it.”
Now that he was a full part of Janus’s operation, Virgil had been told everything. Janus was slowly taking laws and regulations, tweaking them subtly, and getting a man on the inside to swap them with the originals. That man, Patton, was married to Remus’s brother, and they had another partner named Logan who was not yet let in on illegal activity.
Change was slow. Incremental. It had to be. It couldn’t be noticed, or everything would be ruined.
But a law here tweaked to be more lenient, a regulation loosened there, and society gradually became less hostile to people with multiple soulmates. Slowly.
Virgil reached over, wrapping his fingers over Janus’s. Janus smiled at him softly, and raised his hand to his lips. Virgil watched as a small flower bloomed to existence on his knuckle, drawn by Remy.
He flushed slightly. He still wasn’t ready for the full kisses that Janus and Remy often shared, but he was certain that smaller affections like this filled his heart just as full.
Janus released his hand, going back to his work. Virgil took the paper back, continuing his own proofreading of the draft.
••^*^••
Remy often found himself drawing on his skin now. Drawings couldn’t be so easily pointed to different hands, and thus were safe to revel in. Flowers over his knuckles, hearts over his hands, larger more detailed designs covering his arms and legs.
His night shifts at the cafe were never quite so dull anymore, knowing he could send a bit of art to one of his loves. And many times, one of them would show up. With Virgil, it was often for coffee and long talks, like they had before but deeper, more tender. Janus still wanted an alibi half the time he stopped by, but now there were visits where he’d come to make out if the cafe was empty.
When his shift was over he’d head back home. Virgil was coming over in the morning. He often split his time between Remy and Janus’s houses, almost like they had a custody agreement over him.
It was difficult for Remy sometimes, adjusting to a partner who wanted to take things real slow. But Virgil’s softness and cute grumpiness was uniquely special to him, and he looked forward to the day he’d get to kiss him silly.
Despite the rough time that brought them to realize they were soulmates, none of them truly regretted it, though Janus still apologized if one of them brought up the kidnapping.
••^*^••
Janus had never felt so fulfilled.
He’d always believed strongly in the cause, knowing he was a member of the minority he fought for. But it was different somehow, having his soulmates with him.
Remy and Virgil were so similar and yet so different. Both would snark and snipe, especially as Virgil got more comfortable around him. But Virgil had a softness to him where Remy had passion. Remy had initiative where Virgil had caution. Virgil had gentleness where Remy had strength. Both so unique. Both so precious. Both somehow his. And he theirs.
He was reaping the very reward he wished to give to everyone with multiple soulmates. And it was sweet.
Janus subtly shifted position, careful not to wake either of his partners. They’d spent a late night and were now napping, leaving him the most lucky with getting to experience them laying on either side of him.
They’d started with ‘trapping’ him, each laying over one of his arms to prevent him from working, but it had quickly shifted into soft cuddles as they fell asleep. And despite his earlier protests, he didn’t truly mind in the slightest.
He wanted to buy a larger house, or at least a larger bed, as this one only barely contained them if none of them tried to roll over. He didn’t make much money, certainly not legally. So it was a rather futile dream, about as futile as his dream to one day marry them. But a man could dream.
Tagging @snowdice Since I used your Roll the Dice game to start this fic! 🥰

Girl I need some more VVD smut lol
I’m in neeeeed of some big daddy virg! Preferably him being away from home due to international matches and coming home to fuck you mindlessly because of how much he missed you and those sexts/nudes you sent him while he was away just the tip of the iceberg of setting off that big daddy virg energy 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠
you get me, you soooo get me !!!!!
Internationals were killing him. Virg felt like he had been away for a million years despite it only being a week.
He missed you; your smile, your voice, your smell, your touch - he just missed you.
The first few days were okay, match days kept him busy but it was the time in between that was killing him. You never bugged him on game days, a sweet text and a FaceTime kiss to wish your captian luck before you left him to prep for the games. On his off days, that was when you caused trouble.
You had been sending him these messages; detailed, filthy, photos and videos attached just incase your vivid description wasn't enough.
Virgil was losing his mind. No one was as ready as he was to get off the bus and back home to you.
The house was quiet as he ventured down the hallway towards the bedroom. He could see the light from the lamp next to the bed through the slightly opened door.
He couldn’t miss the way his name fell past your lips.
Maybe you were dreaming.
Virgil peeks into the room; you were definitely awake. Head tossed back on the pillows, his sweater on you and your hand down your panties. You were clearly getting rid of today's stress.
He steps into the bedroom quietly, leaning on the wall by the door and watches you. Your eyes closed and you’ve got two fingers in you. He smiles to himself, watching as you curl them, trying to mimic the way he does it.
“Fuck,” you breathe, back arched off the bed. It can’t possibly be that good, he thinks to himself.
“Virg, please,” the words tumble past your lips and he can’t stop himself.
“Need something ?” He asks. Your eyes open and you're looking at him, hand still moving slowly. "You're home," you smiled.
"I am." He walked over, joining you by the bed.
He had settled between your legs, one hand roaming your bare thigh as you pulled him down by his chain to kiss him. Your husband lets you kiss him, pushing against you and your back arches just a bit, Virgil managing to pull your shirt up.
You mumble a no when he pulls away, moving to kiss down your neck and chest, finding his way along your stomach to between your legs. Virgil leaves a few marks and kisses along the inside of your thigh, his arm hooked under your thighs, hands on your hips and fingers trailing along the hem of your panties.
“Virg,” you mumble, closing your thighs to get his attention.
He pushes them open, “what ?” He looks up at you.
You hum, “do something.”
You fall back onto the mattress, Virgil’s thumb rubs slow circles over your clit. “Fuck,” you breathe, hips bucking for more.
He doesn’t give you, just reminds you; “ask nicely.”
If you wanted him, and you really did, you had to do what he said no matter how much you wanted to give him attitude and tell him no. “Please, Virg - I need it.”
“You can do better than that.”
“Please, you’re so unfair, need you so bad.” you hum. “Come on, please, please.”
Virg looks up at you, a smile on his face. He's absolutely sure he felt his cock twitch in his shorts, “god, okay yeah.” He says, getting up to get undressed. You follow him, pulling off the very little clothes that remained before you got back on the bed.
You didn’t make it very far, Virgil pulled you to the edge of the bed by your legs and he settled between your legs; one pulled over his shoulder and the other around his hip.
Virgil lets you take him little by little, pulling out almost all the way each time before finally pushing into you all the way. He's in charge and you both know it, letting him set the pace; slow and steady and it was driving you insane.
“Virg baby, come on.” Your hand reaches to rest on his hand that’s on your hip. “Need more.”
“Do you?” He hums, moving a little faster.
You know giving him attitude won’t help but you can’t help but roll your eyes, “more than that.”
“Needy,” he calls, pulling you closer by your legs.
Finally, you get what you want, Virgil's hips hitting the back of your thighs, he leans over you and your arms are pinned about your head, both legs up on his shoulders now. The angle was enough to push you over the edge but he didn’t care.
“Please-” you tried to wiggle your hands loose but he didn’t budge.
“What’s wrong baby?” he asks, mockingly, “isn't this what you wanted?”
“It is, but-” your head tosses back, back arched when he hits the spot he was looking for.
“Oh,” he coos, smiling at you. “Is my baby so fucked out, she can’t even tell me what she wants?” His thrusts are sloppy, you knew he was just as close as you were.

Gunil
The movie illuminated the t.v. located in the living room. You and Gunil were having a movie date night. However your main focus was not the movie it was keeping your eyes open. You had a very long and tiring day, but you still wanted to spend time with your boyfriend, Gunil. Before you knew it you had lost the battle against sleep, head landing on Gunil’s shoulder as the rest of you slumped into his side. He initially tensed at the sudden newfound weight, yet he immediately relaxed once he realized it was you. Admiring your face for a moment prior to readjusting you to a more comfortable position, head on his chest with his arm wrapped protectively around your frame. Gunil knew you had a long day and needed the rest. He grabbed his phone and snapped a quick photo of your sleeping state. Then he set it as his wallpaper thinking you were the cutest thing. If you were still sleeping when the movie ended he would pick you up and tuck you into bed. Leaving a kiss on your forehead and uttering “Goodnight angel,”
Jungsu
Jungsu had a free day from schedules and you guys spent it together just lounging around. The both of you were currently in your bedroom. He sat upright on your bed, upper body leaning against the headboard. You laid horizontally across his lap with your legs slightly dangling off of the bed. Phones occupied you both, occasionally showing each other something you came across. One of Jungsu’s hands found its way into your hair, absentmindedly stroking it.  Your eyes fell closed at the soothing motion. Jungsu only notices that you’ve fallen asleep when he goes to show you a funny video he found. A smile adorns his face as he gazes at your peaceful state. His hand keeps stroking your hair having the irrational thought that if he stopped you might wake up. Little moments like these are some of the ones he cherishes the most. They make his heart filled with warmth and he feels so lucky to have found you. When you wake up he says something along the lines of “Oh look who’s awake,” then proceeds to show you the video that he wanted to show you earlier.
Gaon/Jiseok
It was sometime in the afternoon and you were seated on the floor in Jiseoks bedroom at the dorm. His guitar occupied his lap while you were wrapped around him like a koala from his back. He called your antics silly, but when you went to let go.
“I called you silly. I didn’t tell you to let go,” he pouted, bringing your arms back around his middle. You then rested your chin on his shoulder. Jiseok liked whenever you were clingy, although it usually happened whenever you were tired. This rang true after he asked what you thought about a song he just played only to be met with silence. Turning his head to look at you he found that you were indeed asleep. How can someone even fall asleep like that? He thinks, shaking his head slightly, letting out a chuckle. He debates between waking you up or letting you sleep. For now he let you sleep, but when sitting on the floor began to grow uncomfortable he had to wake you up.
“Y/n I’m sorry wake up,” he said, detaching your arms causing you to stir. “You can sleep on the bed if you’re still tired,”. You plop yourself onto his bed and open your arms as a silent asking for cuddles to which Jiseok happily obliges.
O.de/Seungmin
The sun had already set and the moon shone brightly in the night sky. You and Seungmin were currently on the bus heading back from your long day out. The two of you shared headphones, listening to a playlist that the both of you had created together. You naturally rested your head against his shoulder and he leaned his head against yours. You found yourself caving to the exhaustion of having been out most of the day. Seungmin noticed and told you to get some rest. He held one of your hands in his lap caressing it softly with his thumb. Occasionally he would gently play with your fingers. He took a photo of you resting on his shoulder and saved it to the folder on his phone dedicated to you.Once you were arriving at your stop he woke you up by patting your head. Once you had arrived at your home he insisted on tucking you into bed before leaving. He gently brushed his finger through your hair a few times before leaving a loving peck on your nose. On his walk back to the dorms he stared at the photo he had taken of you earlier.
Junhan/Hyeongjun
You accompanied Hyeongjun to the studio. He was diligently working on writing lyrics for some songs that were on their way of being produced. Pair of you sitting on a small sofa that was in the studio. From time to time he would ask for your opinions about what wording sounded better or if the lyric matched with the vibe of the song. Despite those short conversations the studio was filled with a quiet, yet comfortable, even cozy atmosphere. Probably why you found it so easy to just lay yourself across his lap. Hyeongjun lightly ruffled your hair a bit giving you a smile before turning his attention back to writing the lyrics. Hyeongjun once again went to ask you for your opinion, but was met with your sleeping figure. His heart rate increased a bit at the way you were cuddling into the bottom of his hoodie. He checks the time and sees that it has gotten quite late. He feels a bit bad for keeping you so long. He also feels a pang of guilt for waking you up when you look so comfortable, but you reassure him that everythings alright. He secretly wants you to fall asleep on him more often.
Jooyeon
Jooyeon’s laptop was balanced on both of your legs, playing a show. You and Jooyeon were cuddled up with your head resting on his chest. One of his arms was casually flung over your waist. His hand traced out random shapes and he would occasionally tickle you just to annoy you. When he tickled you and wasn’t met with your hand smacking his away he knew something was off. He looked down at where you laid on his chest. Your breathing was deeper and your lips were partly open. He immediately whipped out his phone to take an unflattering picture of you to tease you about later. He also took one not so unflattering, but you would likely never see that one. After tossing his phone aside he closed his laptop and went to join you in dream land. You were awoken by the sound of photo clicks. Opening your eyes to find that you and Jooyeon were surrounded by his members. There was a mixture of teasing and cooing at how cute you guys looked together. Jooyeon simply told them to send the photos to the group chat before turning over and going back to sleep nuzzled against you.

Waking Up In A Bookshop
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Caregiver!Aziraphale, Caregiver!Crowley & GN Little!Reader (SFW)
Tw- car accident causes reader to get hurt. It’s minor but I wanted to put it out there just in case!
Tags- Reader gets hurt! (nothing violent, they just pass out), hurt and comfort, accident, diapers, pacifier, stuffie snake, Crowley and Aziraphale become cgs.
Nicknames- kid, kiddo, little one, darling, sweetheart, sweet one, Papa (for Crowley), Dada (for Aziraphale)
Of course I was late! And this would be the second time this week! I rushed down the sidewalk, weaving through the crowds to make it to my job.
I wasn’t my fault! It seemed as though London was working against me. The bus was always late and the walk from the bus stop to the coffee shop is about a 15 minute walk.
But today it seems the universe was out to get me. Even with the bus always being late I still missed it. So I had to take the later bus. Once I got off I knew I had to RUSH.
So here I was…running. The streets of London were packed as always. I tried to maneuver my way through the many people so I could make my job on time for a change. I decided to take a path down a different road which resulted in me waiting at a corner to cross the street.
I anxiously waited for the light to give the pedestrians the right away to cross the street. But it was taking FOREVER! I looked across the street and noticed there were no cars coming. So I decided to go for it and take my chances. I should realize that I shouldn’t gamble with fate like that.
A black car rounds the corner at a record speed. I was half way across the street when it happened. Without any time to react my backpack clips the car, causing me to spin and fly backward onto the payment below.
I hit my head hard against the road. For a moments everything went blurry as my brain and body tried to process what had happened. I stare up at the sky laying on my back in the middle of the road.
Tears start to fall from my eyes as my regression takes hold of me. I hear the car come to a screeching stop and two people get out of the car.
“I told you not to take turns that fast! Look what happened!” One yelled.
“They came out of no where! How is this my fault?! They were jaywalking!” The other argued.
One of them ran over and kneeled next to me on the street. “I’m so terribly sorry! Are you alright? Do you need an ambulance?” I couldn’t even move, my head pounded and my vision was too blurry to even make the man out. I just cried and tried to lift my arm up to him.
“Angel don’t be ridiculous they’re fine-.” The other man stopped mid-sentence when he came over and saw me.
“Tell me, what’s your name sweetheart?” The less harsh one asked as he took my hand in his.
“…Y/N…” I tried to say, but I’m not even sure if it came out that way or not. My head and my body couldn’t take the pain. My eyes started to close and I started to slip into unconsciousness.
“Hey, hey, hey! Stay with us darling, don’t close your eyes.” The first man said with a voice layered in worrying. But it hard trying to stay awake. I kept fading in and out.
The second man kneeled beside me. I felt my head being lifted up. “No blood, cuts or bump yet but they might have a concussion or worst.” My head was gently placed back down.
“We have to take them to the bookshop.” The first guy replied.
“What?! Are you crazy? Why would we need to worry ourselves with that? Listen, why don’t we drop them off at the hospital and be on our way.”
“Crowley!!”
“Okay! Okay! Fine! We’ll take the kid home.”
I felt myself being lifted up from the street and into someone’s arms. I whined without even realizing it because I heard the second man…Crowley I think…start to say, “Hey, it’s okay. Easy does it kiddo. I’ve got you.”
I rested my head against him as he carried me over to the very thing that put me into this position, the fancy black car. Crowley gently laid me in the back seat.
He shrugged his jacket off and laid it on me like a blanket on before he sat in the drivers seat and his partner jumped in the front seat.
My eyes opened a little bit to make out the two. One of them had red hair and wore all black and the other had white hair and wore tan. Both of them looked at me worried.
The man with the white hair smiled and caressed my face. “Don’t worry, we’ll take good care of you I promise. Just stay with us okay, I want to see those beautiful eyes.”
I tried to nod but the slightest movement hurt. But he seemed to notice me trying. He smiled back with a warm comforting smile.
As the engine started with a roar and we started to raced down the streets of London, my new found headache returned to me. I watched as my imagine of the two men started to fade more and more into the darkness.
“Y/N? Y/N stay with us…Crowley this is the only time I’m going to say this but, speed up!”
“I’m going as fast as I can. Come on kiddo just a little longer, stay with us.”
“Y/N?” ………..
“Y/N!”………………………..
Then darkness took me as I slipped into unconsciousness.
~~~
The front door the the bookshop swung open. Crowley carried the unconscious Little through the door with a frantic Aziraphale walking behind holding their backpack.
“Hurry upstairs. I want to put ice on their head right away.” Aziraphale ushered.
“Angel they’re not dying, they’re just hurt.” Crowley tried to say, more for himself than to Aziraphale. Not that he would admit it.
“Regardless I want to get them in our bed and rested.”
“Our bed?!” Crowley whined.
“You hit them with the Bentley!!” Aziraphale reminded him.
“Yeah, you’re right. Right….” Crowley sighed at the reminder of his guilt.
The two quickly went upstairs with the Little. Aziraphale dashed into the kitchen, dropping their backpack on the table while rushing around to grab the first aid kit and some ice packs.
Crowley brought the Little into their bed room and gently laid them down on the bed. But that’s when he noticed something.
“Angel…come here for a moment.” He softly called for the angel.
“What ever is the matter Crowley?” He asked walking into the room, arms full of ice packs and bandages.
But just as Crowley froze, Aziraphale froze as well. But for Aziraphale it was just for a moment. He immediately got to work. “It seems as though the little one had a small accident. Nothing we can’t take care of.”
“They had an accident,” Crowley repeated, “You know that means they’re on the younger side of things.”
“To begin with, you hit them with the car so I can imagine the trauma of it all threw them into their headspace, which happens to be younger.” Aziraphale started to say.
“Will you stop reminding me!” Crowley yelled only for Aziraphale to shush him.
“And secondly the accident is easy to take care of see,” With the snap of his fingers Y/N’s pants became magically dry thanks to a small miracle. “There, it’s as if it hasn’t happened.”
Crowley was next to snap his figures, this time twice making two miracles. Aziraphale looked over at Crowley who looked at the Little, still laced with guilt.
“I just gave them a diaper…you know, just incase. Plus a gift from me after hurting them.” Under Y/N’s arm was now a stuffed animal snake tucked in securely.
Aziraphale smiled at Crowley’s generosity. “I’m sure they’ll love it. Now, let’s let them rest a bit while you help me with the bandaged and ice packs.”
The two spent the rest of the morning tending for the Little. Making sure that when they woke up they would be alright and safe in their apartment above the bookshop.
Aziraphale sat on one side and Crowley sat on the other side of the bed, both looking at the unconscious Little who was now all bandaged and ice up.
“Perhaps we should look for their wallet.”
“Angel is this really the best time to be robbing them?”
“Crowley! We’re not robbing them! I just thought we better check if they have a Caregiver. They better notify them of what’s happened.”
“Oh. Right.” Crowley nodded.
The two went off to the kitchen leaving the Little while they spelt. Over on the table sat their backpack. While Aziraphale would’ve had a softer, more gentle approach to finding the wallet inside the backpack, Crowley just picked and dumped all the contents onto the table.
Aziraphale sighed and started to sort through everything. He grabbed their wallet and then their Little emergency card.
“Ah! Well you were right, they’re definitely younger headspace wise. And it says oh….” Aziraphale stopped, his face turning sad.
“What’s wrong?”
“They don’t have a Caregiver. There’s nothing but info about them. No caregiver listed.”
Crowley took the card and looked it over. “How could they not have a Caregiver? They’re too young to be without one. What if something happened?”
Aziraphale raised an eye brown, “Something did happen.” He sighed and started to think. But in that moment something struck him. “Wait.” He looked back up at Crowley. “What if this is all meant to be?”
“What do you mean?” Crowley lifted his head up to look at the Angel.
“Y/N! Maybe they were meant to get hit by the Bentley! Tell me, how long have you and I been searching for a Little of our own?”
“Oh well…let’s see…”
“It’s been years! But we never had the time to actually sit down and find the right one. Well…” he gestured towards the bedroom. “We found them!”
“Angel…you can’t be serious.” Crowley rolled his eyes.
“Who knows? Maybe this is all a part of the grand plan of things?”
“So I was supposed to hit them with the Bentley as sort of this grand plan by the higher ups to give us a Little…I’m understanding this right?” Crowley put his hands on his hips. Looking at Aziraphale all sassy like.
“I mean naturally we’d have to ask them but I’m sure that they’re our Little. Look, all I known is I don’t care about anyone as much as I do you. But they bring out a new sort of feeling in me. I’m worried for someone other than you. I’ve just wanted to care for them ever since the moment we first saw them. So it must be true! I mean don’t tell you haven’t felt the slightest bit nurturing with them? Making sure they’re comfortable, putting an ice pack on their head?” Aziraphale looked at Crowley, already knowing the answer to his question.
“I might have,” Crowley said as nonchalantly as he could. He took a seat at the table. “I just…I just don’t want to get my hopes up incase it’s doesn’t work out.” It was an honest and sincere response. He never took rejection well.
“I’m going to grab a book then sit and keep an eye on the little one. Could you put the kettle on for us?” Aziraphale asked and Crowley nodded. With that Aziraphale disappeared downstairs to the bookstore.
Crowley paused and watched his partner go. With a sigh he walked over and put the kettle on for the two of them.
After he planted himself back at the table, looking through all Y/N’s belongings noisily. He picked up a plain pacifier and even plainer diaper. Oh no, if they were his Little, he would have to get them some supplies with the cutest designs and colors. He smiled to himself, he would spoil his Little rotten.
His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the kettle going of behind him. He jumped out of his seat and went off to make Aziraphale his cup of tea.
Aziraphale returned, book in hand. He knew just what he was looking for, “How to Care for A Young Little, A Caregiver’s Guide.” He might as well start to get familiar…it never hurt. Taking his tea cup from Crowley, he made his way to the bedroom to watch over the little one while they rested.
~~~
The first thing I realize was I was no longer on the street. Memories came back in bits and pieces but what came through the most was the pain. Oh right, I was hit by a car.
I whined and squeezed my eyes closed. Just as I gave away I was awake a soft voice spoke to me and took my hand in theirs. “Easy there sweet one, you’ve had quite a troubling day. Open your eyes at your own speed, don’t force yourself.”
Taking his advice I slowly started to open my eyes. Slowly I started to see the person with the sweet and comforting voice. His face started out looking blurry at first but eventually I could see him clearly.
“There you are darling. How are you feeling?” The man with white hair ask me. He rubbed small circles on my hand to comfort me.
Before I answered back I took in myself and where I was. I was in a very comfortable bed wrapped in the softest blankets. I could feel a bandage on my head and a bandaid on my hands. The room was cozy and warm, smelling like old books and tea.
He looked at me with a small smiled filled with concerned. “Hurts.” I told him, squeezing his hands in mine. My little side couldn’t articulate all these big thoughts properly.
“Aww, I’m sure it does hurt. But the ice pack should start to help the pain go away. You’re okay darling. Just a little bump on the head but nothing serious. You’re very brave.” He pulled his handkerchief out of his pocket and wiped the tears from my eyes.
“Brave?”
“Oh yes very brave.” He smiled back.
“What’s…what’s your name?” I asked the sweet man.
“My name is Aziraphale and my partner with the red hair is Crowley.”
“Az…Azraph…”
“I know it’s a bit of a mouth full.” He laughed.
“Aziraphale.” I said more confidently.
“That’s it! Wonderful darling!” He praised.
And for the first time that day I smiled. Aziraphale was treating me so kind for someone who hit me with their car. Wait…wasn’t there someone else? Aziraphale wasn’t the drive…Crowley….he was the driver…
Like clockwork the other person knocked at the door. Aziraphale turned towards it, “You can come in Crowley. They’re awake.”
Soon the door opened and in came the second guy. Now I remember him! He was driving the car and he had the really red hair. He looked guilty as he took me in.
“Hey kiddo. How you feeling?”
“Head hurts.” I lifted my hand to feel my bandages but Aziraphale stopped me.
“No, no darling. Keep them on. They’re to keep the ice pack on your head.”
I sighed and put my hand back down in my lap. That’s when I noticed the new stuffed animal. “A snake!” I lifted it up and admired it.
“Yes, I thought you might like a gift for everything you’ve been through.” Crowley took a seat on the other side of the bed.
“I love it! The colors are so pretty!!” It was red with black stripes. And it was soooooo soft.
“I’m happy you do.” Crowley smiled. He picked up the snake and made it slide up and down my leg. Then he had it pretend to attack my hand. I couldn’t help but giggle every time he did it.
He handed me back the snake before he spoke again, “I want to apologize though. I’m so sorry you got hurt. It was never my intention.”
I lifted my eyes and looked at Crowley sincerely. “It’s okay. I should’ve waited and not just walk across the street. But I accept your apology.”
I could instantly see Crowley start to relax a bit. “Thank you kiddo.”
“Y/N we happened to notice your ID card says you don’t have a Caregiver, is that right?” Aziraphale asked.
I nodded my head. “Yeah…” I looked down, a bit saddened. “I’m fine on my own though.”
“You’re are a bit young, kiddo. I don’t want to think of someone as young as you being on their own.” Crowley added.
“Why I bring this up is…well, Crowley and I are Cargivers. Now you don’t have to accept right now or make any sort of decisions, especially with your head injury, but if you’ll allow us, we’d like to take care of you. Then after you feel better if you’d like we could become your Caregivers.” Aziraphale explained.
The two looked over at me eagerly but was honestly too in shock to say anything at the moment. The two guys who hit me with their car want me to be their Little? But they both seemed so nice and they’ve taken such good care of me when they could’ve easily left me there.
“Yeah, I’d like that.” I smiled at the two.
And they smiled back. Aziraphale squeezed one of my hands while Crowley took the other. Little did I know this was just the beginning of something beautiful!
~~~
My old job fired me but I got hired to work at a bookstore…Aziraphale’s bookstore! I arrive there every morning perfectly on time! I help him rearrange the books, work the cash register and take inventory.
Then after a long day I regress upstairs in the apartment with my two Caregivers safely by my side.
Crowley, who at first was a bit unsure how good of a Caregiver he would be, soon feel into the rhythm of it fairly quickly. He was a big troublemaker like myself! But he also loved to play any game I came up with including dress up!
Aziraphale has a gentle touch, always looking to make sure I’m comfortable. He a huge cuddle bug and loves to sit with me on his lap while reading a book to me.
Today Crowley picked me up and threw me over his shoulder when he arrived home. “There you are! Thought you could hide from Papa? Huh?”
Aziraphale just laughs and shakes his head at the sight of the two playing together in the living room. Once Crowley put me down I took off towards him, hiding behind him from Crowley. “Protect me Dada!” I hold onto him tightly.
“Always my dear! Back demon! Stay away from my baby.” Aziraphale laughed to himself, the nickname demon making him chuckle. Their baby doesn’t know the truth about the two of them and for now that’s quite okay.
Crowley rolls his eyes to the comment, “Don’t you mean our baby?”
Aziraphale picked me up and smiled at Crowley, “You’re right, our sweet little one.” Aziraphale pulled Crowley into a group hug with me. Crowley smirked and wrapped his arms around the two of us.
The three of us hug. Once and for all a family of our own. Suddenly the apartment didn’t feel like an apartment but a home filled with giggles, smiles and love.
OLD LOVE; TWS HANJIN x READER
a little something before we start, italicized text will indicate that the conversation is happening in the Chinese language
_________ ׂׂૢ་༘࿐
HANJIN has never been more enthusiastic than he ever did before. He just found out that Xinxiang, Henan, his hometown, is one of the stops for the group’s world tour. His excitement reached through the roof causing him to video call his family
“Mā! I’m gonna be able to visit you guys!” He conversed with his mom in Chinese. His two younger brothers that were also in the frame of his mom’s camera, looked at each other and cheered in their mother’s ears before running off somewhere to celebrate “Are you really going to?”
He took notice of how his mom looks like she’s about to cry, and that made him well up tears, too “Don’t cry mā, and yes, I’m gonna come home” and with that, his mom bursted out crying and so did he
“Mā, stop crying” he whined out, getting up to get tissues, “I’m sorry, bǎo bǎo. Māmā is just so happy I can finally see you after three years”
Hanjin smiled at this and wiped his tears with the tissue he got “We’re stopping at Beijing before going there,” he sniffed “Do you want anything from there, mā?” His mom shook her head “All I need is for you to come home safe to me”
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
“HANJIN, wake up. We’re here at Xinxiang” the said man got shook awake by the oldest in the group, Shinyu. The moment what Shinyu said had registered in his head, he’s suddenly wide awake and ran off the bus
The moment he stepped foot out of the bus, he was immediately met by two young males tackling his waist to a hug
“Gēge! You’re finally back!” the two male said at the same time as if it was practiced “Yeah, gēge’s back” Hanjin said, a wide grin plastered on his face as he ruffles their hair
“Hanjin, we’ll get going to the hotel, call us if you decided where you’d sleep” Dohoon said causing Hanjin to nod, he waved goodbye to the bus as it drove off
“Where’s mā?” Hanjin said, walking with his two brothers who insisted on carrying his bags “At home, preparing your food. She’s making mala xiang guo” “Then what are we waiting for? The last one home will be the one to wash the dishes” Hanjin raced his brothers, a big grin still on his face “No fair, gēge! We’re carrying your bags!” “You wanted to, it’s not my fault”
Oh how Han Zhen missed this so much; the leisure, and stress-free life. The things he’d do to experience that again everyday, but don’t get him wrong, he doesn’t regret being an idol. He just misses the feeling of running around with friends without a care in the world
He reached his home and looked back at his brothers to see them struggling, and with effort, the youngest one reached the house second which meant the middle kid reached last “No fair,” he heaved heavily upon reaching the house “I have gēge’s biggest bag” Hanjin ruffled his hair while laughing “A rule’s a rule” and went inside with his brother grumbling
“Māmā?” He called out, a wave of nostalgia hit him like a plane, the times when he’d come home from school and call for his mom before going straight to the kitchen cause he know she’s there. it took everything in him not to cry, he surely did miss his mom, that’s for sure
He reached the kitchen and smiled upon seeing the back of his mom and rushed to hug her; well, at least he thought it was his mom “Zhen! You’re home!” He heard his mom’s voice from behind causing him to frown his eyebrows. He looked behind him and saw his mom smiling widely
He blinked a few times before looking at the girl he’s hugging and saw the person he never expected to see. His arms immediately raised and he turned to his mom without a word to the girl
“Mā, I’m home!” He rushed to hug his mom tightly who also returned the favor “Wow, you’ve grown so big, bǎo bǎo. You work out, don’t you? Come, sit, your mala xiang guo is almost done” he got sat down by his mom, but before she left him there, he held her arms
“Mā, why is she here?” His mom pursed her lips, expressing hesitation before answering “I’m sorry, Zhen. You know that she’s the only girl I’ve ever gotten close to among the ones you brought home” “You’re making it sound like I brought many girls home” “Did you not?” “Mā…” his mom laughed
“I’m sorry, Zhen. I’m just so close with [y/n] and I can’t bring to just not talk to her” he sighed before looking at the girl who’s still cooking before looking back at his mom and holding her hands “It’s okay, mā. I just got shocked seeing her here” his mom smiled before going to help the girl at the stove
Hanjin sighed deeply before getting up and go to the living room to get his bags to his room. The only thing he saw in his living room is his two brothers “Where’re my bags?” He asked them, sitting next to them “We put it in your room” the older of the two answered, looking at their brother briefly
“Does [y/n] always come here?” He asked “Ah, right. Sorry gēge, we forgot to tell you. But yeah, jiě jie is always here. Since mom always gets lonely when we go to school, she calls her over. Don’t worry, jiě jie said it’s not a bother since she doesn’t have anything to do anyway”
Hanjin nodded and watched what his brothers are watching but not long after, they got called
“Guys, food’s ready!” Her voice rang through Han Zhen’s head, not expecting to miss that sweet, silky voice. His heart pounded fast and hard before getting up and making his way to the kitchen
He was about to sit on a chair but his two brothers raced him there with big smiles plastered on their faces. The only seat left is by [y/n] but he had no choice
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
He’s now sitting on the porch of the house, admiring the view he hasn’t seen for three years while sipping warm milk that his mom made him
The door suddenly opened and he looked at the person who opened it “Ah, sorry” she said before making an act to go back “Wait” he halted her and she did
He stood up and neared her, holding her wrist gently and bringing her out before closing the door. He dragged her to the two seats and sat both of them down
“How are you?” He started, trying to make a small conversation instead of hitting her with the question he always wanted to ask “I’m doing good, thanks. And I can see you’re doing well, too” she responded, words rushed as if not wanting to talk. He scoffed at this, finding it funny
“Since you don’t want to have a small talk, let me just ask directly then,” he looked at her in the eye, a small frown displayed on his face “Why did you do that?” Silence filled both of them for a few seconds before he asked again “Why did you push me away?” Still nothing “Why did you not trust me?”
She then cried, loudly, sobbing into her hands “I’m so sorry, Zhen. I’m sorry” she kept chanting the word ‘sorry’ over and over again. He sighed and sat next to her before hugging her by her side and letting her sob on his shoulder. He pats her back as she kept crying
He wanted to cry, yet he couldn’t bring to do so as the girl he once loved oh so greatly, deeply, and like no other is crying on him, for him
“I didn’t want to ruin your dreams” she finally spoke, rising up from his shoulder but still sniffing and tearing “We both know how that industry works. I couldn’t risk you losing your dreams just because of a stupid relationship” “You think our relationship was stupid?”
He felt hurt, he could feel his heart breaking like how it did when she told him to end what they had
“No, hell, our relationship was something no one can have. It was that special, Zhen. It’s just, if we did continue our relationship, would you be where you are right now? And there’s no doubt that you would get caught on the first week in the industry as you know how clingy you are”
He saw her smile and one also formed on his lips without him knowing
“Do you get my point, Zhen? I’d rather lose you because you have a dream than have you without your dream”
He stayed silent
“You’ve always told me how you wanted to be a part of that industry, look at you, you’re already going on world tours. I don’t know if I still have any right to say this but, I’m so proud, Zhen”
Oh, the words he never heard yet, the words that he always wanted to hear, came from the girl who once broke his heart
It was his turn to cry this time, he sobbed into his hands and felt the girl cradle him in her arms. Her soft hands caressed his back and head, and he swears he could feel her soft lips touching the crown of his head from time to time
It was just like before, it was always like this whenever he wouldn’t pass an audition. He’d always run to her
She’s his solace, his home
He started just sniffing, still cradled in her arms, her hands still caressing him and he felt like he’s being lulled to sleep
“I’m really sorry, Zhen. I know how bad I’ve hurt you, trust me, it killed me too. I’ve always wanted to end it all for hurting you so much, but your mom always made sure I was okay”
He sat straight up and looked at her puffy eyes with his own puffy eyes and held her hand
“Would it be bad if I ask you if we can start once more?” He bit his bottom lip “Because trust me, those three years felt like hell when I had no one to call about my small achievements, my group’s wins, my adventures. The only person I could do that with, is you. [y/n], you’re the only girl I have ever felt immense comfort and peace with. My heart always feels like it’s gonna explode whenever I see you”
He touched his forehead with hers as they both teared up, holding her face in his hands as his thumbs caressed her cheeks
“I love you so much it hurts”
The First Meeting
Fair warning this is my first time writing any kind of fanfic so they may be a little out of character
When He woke up that morning, Cuphead knew that it was going to be a difficult day, His brother had spent the past two weeks trying to find a box that contained the old books that Elder Kettle had read to them but after looking through every single shelf, chest, and closet it became clear that it wasn’t anywhere in the apartment.
“I just dont understand where they could be? We have the fairytales and the photo books but where are the rest of them?” Mugman had shouted exasperated by the restless search “The only written version of Calix animi legends and they’re not a single place in this damned apartment! I know we packed them up! Where are they?!”
“well…. If they’re not here then….what if we left them at….The house? Maybe…maybe I forgot to take it down from the attic when we made the last trip…” Cuphead said scratching the back of his head nervously “I did almost forget to grab some of the clothes boxes… maybe we should check it? I mean…if they’re not anywhere in the apartment it might at least be worth the trip just to make sure that it’s not missing”
“….huh….are you sure that….you’re up for that? Seeing the house again?”
“…”
——————————————————-
*Knock Knock knock* “Mugs? You awake up yet—
The door opened revealing a completely dressed Mugman in the doorway
“Never mind looks like your ready, let’s head out” Cuphead said, heading to put on his shoes, stopping to pat Dasiy on the head
“hold down the fort while we’re gone okay little guy? Don’t need anyone poking their noses where they don’t belong.”
It would be a long bus ride from the City to the Woods, then a notable walk to get to the House…thankfully they both already knew the path well enough from the years of play in those Woods
“Best to head out early, I do have to meet with professor Gabriel this evening” Mugman stated grabbing this bag
“ugh please tell me your not meeting here again..” Cuphead groaned over his shoulder
“We’re meeting at the library Cuphead, and it would be nice to have you come with. Can’t ever have enough help with the research. Besides Gabriel has been nothing but helpful, maybe those legends will have some answers, all legends have at least some truth to them.” Mugs stated opening the door. “After you”
——————————————————
The path had become overgrown throughout the years, coming almost up to their knees and the rain that had begun to fall wasn’t much help
“whew…. Never thought much of the walk when we were kids huh?” Cups grinned tired from trip so far “always felt so easy to run place to place”
*Mugman chuckled* “Yes well running from government officials every few weeks isn’t really a good exercise regamie”
“Well I guess it’s easier if one thi—
Elder kettle’s cottage had come into view…garden overgrown with weeds and windows dirty and dusty but despite that…it still felt like home…like coming back to where they were supposed to be
*CRACK*
“oh geez it’s really starting to pour, Mugs you got the key ready?” Cuphead said as they reached the door
“yes I have it right here— hold the umbrella steady!”
“I’m trying to! unlock the door the door alrea—-
*Creeaaak* The second they put weight on the door it opened, causing them both to catch a glimpse of a small silhouette disappearing up the stairs.
“…”
“…”
*Cuphead quickly pushed the door completely open, rushing inside* “Nononono—- did someone break in?!”
“Cuphead don’t rush in—
The inside was a mess…stray papers had been thrown around and there was a claw mark on the living room wallpaper and some dried dark red liquid on the floor leaving a trail upstairs. Which they quickly followed, finding that it led to the same room they had slept in as children. Dust covers had been placed on the beds and the nightstand had been tipped over.
They could hear small panicked breathing coming from underneath the right bed, nodding to each other they slowly lifted the dust cover and looked at the figure underneath it
“….is-…is that a kid?” Cuphead said quietly…bewildered.
“Come…come on out… don’t worry we…we aren’t going to hurt you” Mugman whispered kneeling down slightly, slowly pulling the kid out from under the bed and helping them stand upright.
The kid….the kid wasn’t in good shape, even with what little they could see. its fur was dirty and stuck together with dried blood in areas, its right knee was scraped and scabbed over. It had bad bruising on the right side of its head along with a long irritated scar over its left eye. It was wearing what at some point in time would have been a very nice looking white dress. All in all, it was clear that they weren’t in good shape.
“oh….oh my god…”
*CRACK* Another loud clap of thunder and a bright flash of lightning cause the kid to wince and try to hid under the bed again.
“aahhh…no its okay! Uh…” Cuphead ran over to the windows and pulled the shutters completely closed and turned the lights on “See? All gone!”
“Okay…now…little…girl?…whats your name?” Mugman said, trying to kept a calm tone
The girl turned her head away from him seemingly scared
“I don’t…I don’t know…”
Oh Oh that wasn’t good
“okay….do you know how to got here? Do you know where you are?” Cuphead tried asking
The girl shook her head “no….”
“okay…..do….do you know how you got so hurt?” Mugman tried, hoping for an answer this time
The girl just shook her head again more upset “I don’t know!”
The brothers looked at each other sharing the exact same concerns
“okay…okay first things first….how about we get you patched up a bit okay?” Cuphead said leading her out of the bedroom. “Mugs can you get first aid kid from the closet? You know more about this than me”
“Al—alright…”
———————————————————
The girl had thankfully stayed still while they tried to clean up the open wounds. Being patched up made it easier for her to move around, now they just needed to decide what to do next.
“so….we’re bringing back to the apartment with us right?” Cuphead asked once they stepped out of earshot of the girl
“What we can’t just do that….*sigh* we should contact the police, let them know we found a kid with memory loss in the woods…” Mugman said trying to rationalize it
“Well yeah! But the kids gotta stay somewhere and you and I both know that the foster system in Inkwell isn’t….great…we do have a spare room, it’s small but still a room, we can just keep an eye on the kid until her family comes forward and brings her back home” Cuphead tried to explain
“Okay I’ll admit, the foster system wouldn’t be a good idea, but between my research and our work are we going to be home enough to justify taking in an amnesiac kid?” Mugs continued
“I could pick up fewer shifts, maybe we change our schedules so that only one of us is working at a time? We could figure it out”
“…*sigh* fine…I guess we could figure out the finer details in the morning…it’s late enough already…we should get her to a proper place to sleep” Mugman said, slowly deciding to leave at this for a bit.
“alright….let head out then”
———————————————————
The rain had stopped by the time they left the House, revealing a bright starry night sky and crickets chirping as they walked.
“so….what should we call you little missy?” Mugman asked as they made their way to the Bus station. “We could try and come up with something if you wanted?”
The girl nodded brightening up and grinning widely
“Well you just perked up like a flower in sunny weather huh?” Cups joked “Probably the most expressive you’ve been with us so far”
The girl started giggling at that “Sunny! Sunny!” She said in a sing-song voice
Mugman chuckled a bit “huh….well…you do hate stormy weather, I guess it wouldn’t be the worse name to have for you. What do you think? Would you like for us to call you Sunny while you’re with us?”
The Girl nodded “I like it! It’s my name now!”
“Well then it’s settled. Sunny it is!”
——————————————————
”okay now do try and kept your voice down, when we enter okay Sunny? Daisy is pretty skittish and we don’t want it scare them” Mugman whispered opening the apartment door, showing the Daisy was still awake sitting on the sofa. peering over and curiously staring at the girl.
“um…hello” Sunny said nervously waving a bit.
The Daisy looked at her and nodded as they walked in all together.
“Alright…first things first we should probably get you out of that…I’m saying dress? And have you change into something else….” Cups said, kicking off his shoes and heading into the bathroom and starting to fill up the tub “I think we have some old pajamas that would fit you, I can grab them…you prefer stars or polka dots?”
“Um….polka dots…” Sunny said looking around at the apartment curious.
“Well, I found some spare pillows and blankets, so you’ll be able to sleep alright tonight. Now I’ve got to call Gabriel and let him know that something came up and I’m not going to be able to meet up for research for a while” Mugman said, spreading the blankets and pillow out on the couch, before leaving and heading into his room.
“Night mugs.” Cuphead said walking back into the living room “Sunny the bath is ready you can head in now, the pajamas are in the bathroom too”
Sunny nodded heading in ———————————————————
“okay now what would should I give her to eat…..let’s see….thats gone bad…that’s gin…that whiskey….oh there we go…” Cuphead mumbled grabbing a paper bag and opening it.
“Hmm….Sunny here try this” Cups handed her a soft pretzel, watching as she turned it in her hands a couple times. “You gotta bite it Sunspot, that’s how eating works”
Sunny looked at it for another second…before biting into it and chewing a bit
“there we go! Not bad right? It’s from this bakery couple blocks from here, I could take you tomorrow if you’d like?”
Sunny nodded, finishing it the rest of it quickly.
Cuphead looked at the Clock “huh…well…guess we should both go to sleep huh?” He picked her up and placed her on the sofa pulling the blanket up over her and tucking her in.
“now if you need anything me and mugs will be just down the hall, knock on the either of the doors if you need anything okay Sunny?”
Sunny looked at him and nodded “okay I will”
“Goodnight Sunny, sleep tight and don’t let the bedbugs bite”
———————————————————
and that’s it! Lemme know what you thought about it! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Beatings And Rides (Wolf keum x child!reader)
A/N: I really am so exited to write for other fandoms and weak hero dosen’t have the biggest array of fanfics out there so im exited to write on if.
Dividers by @/saradika
Tumblr media
“Why the hell did you come here, reader?” Wolf asks the child as the two sat on the rooftop of the school, with Wolf smoking as usual, glancing at his sibling who had somehow sneaked into school with him
“I wanted to be with big brother!”
Wolf rolled his eyes in annoyance and sighed as he took another puff and blew the smoke out with force
“Well, you're with me now; what do you want?”
They shrug
“I just want to be with big brother,” they said, smiling at him, their smile melting as they glanced around; as all of Wolf’s ‘friends’ stared at the small child, causing them to hide between their brother's legs
Wolf’s face slowly turns from annoyance to surprise when he sees his sibling hiding behind him. He groans as he puts his cigarette out
“What the hell are you guys staring at? Are you looking for a beating?” he growls
His ‘friends’ glance at each other nervously before muttering quietly
“No, we just didn’t expect to see them here.”
“How’d the hell did they even get in?” one whispers at the corner of his mouth
Wolf stares at the poor soul initiating his inner countdown, grinning sadistically as he reaches three; sliding off his glasses, he hands them to his little sibling
“Wait inside.”
They look up at him confused but nod, running their way to the rooftop door and sitting on the stairs leading up to it
Wolf waits a few more minutes to make sure his sibling was safe and out of sight before turning back to the student who had made the comment
“So do you wanna keep staring or actually speak up?” he said, walking towards him with the same dangerous smile on his face
Reader kicked at their feet, ignoring the sound of fists being exchanged, groans and pleas of mercy accompanying each resounding crack as they stared at their brother's glasses, putting them on their face and scrunching their face at the blurry outcome
Wolf continued beating on the poor student for a few more minutes until they had simply dropped to the ground, having no hope of defending themselves, much less winning against Wolf from the start
He simply ignited another cigarette, walking towards the door of the rooftop, and scooping up his sibling as he descended the stairs
“We’re going home,” he mutters
Reader looked up, removing the glasses from their face and placing them back on their rightful owner as they spoke up
“But I thought Big Brother still had class?”
Wolf pauses mid-step as he glances at his sibling with a monotone expression
“I’m skipping” *He grumbles
“Wolfy is gonna get in trouble.”
Wolf just scoffs at this, looking annoyed that his young sibling worried a bit too much
“Who cares.” He shrugs
“Not like the teachers can stop me or do anything.”
“Bu-
Wolf’s eyes narrow
“Do you want me to leave you behind?”
The squeak holding tighter to him
“No!”
“Then stop bitching about it and stay quiet,”
He says, rolling his eyes as they finally leave the school and step into the streets.
“Are we going on the bike?”
“It’s a motorcycle.”
“Are we going on it?”
Wolf lets out a quiet breath of annoyance before dropping his sibling on the motorcycle, grabbing the helmet, and gingerly placing it on them
“ You remember the rules?” he said, strapping the helmet on, tightening it enough so the too-big of a helmet would stay on
They nod, the helmet bouncing around as they did
“Hold tight, mouth close.”
Wolf nods before getting on, behind them, their sibling holding on to the motorcycle tightly as the engine begins to roar awake
Soft ish Wolf? What do y’all think? Any weak hero fans up in here? Any of my one piece fans, fans of weak hero?
Number Eight - Tripping: Chapter 3
Characters: Rinne, HiMERU, Kohaku & Niki Location: Inside Truck Container
Tumblr media
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ< Midnight. Inside the truck container. >
Tumblr media
Niki: *Yawns…* ♪
Mmm~ I can’t tell what’s going on since there’s no light in here…
Kohaku: You seem pretty sleepy, Niki-han. You should take a nap.
Your intestines don’t absorb nutrients that well, so you’ll just hurt your body if you don’t rest, you know?
Niki: Oh, I’m okay. I’ll feel bad if I’m the only one sleeping.
Still, we’ve been in a bus, a helicopter, a plane, a car and now a truck~ I wonder how far we’ve come.
Rinne: …………
HiMERU: Is Amagi… asleep?
Niki: Yeah. It’s dark so I can’t really see, but he’s oddly quiet.
Are you awake, Rinne-kun~?
Rinne: Yeah. Just saving some energy. I bet there’ll be a long road ahead of us.
There’s definitely nothing worth filming in this darkness, anyway~
HiMERU: Amagi is right. The cameras won’t be effective in this situation, so it’s the perfect time to rest.
The driver says there’s still around three hours left on the road. That’s ample time for resting.
Kohaku: We were saved by hitchhikin’.
We might not be able to find our car, but maybe we can reach our goal by hoppin’ from car to car.
HiMERU: Indeed. HiMERU doesn't know what conditions we must fulfil to complete the “???” mission.
But even the producers wouldn’t find it interesting if it’s too unreasonable of a mission. The mission should be completed once we reach the next town.
Niki: Trying to figure out what the mission’s actually telling us to do, huh. You’re good at that sorta stuff, aren’t you, HiMERU-kun~?
HiMERU: Well, usually, Amagi would take the initiative and think about these things first, though.
Amagi is resting and preparing for what’s to come. It’s not something HiMERU would go as far as saying that’s what HiMERU predicts he’ll do. It’s more like something that’s “typical” of him.
Rinne: Don’t start being nice in the oddest of times. It actually feels pretty creepy.
…Oh. Looks like the truck’s stopped.
Maybe it’s ‘cause there aren’t that many cars on the road at night, but we got here pretty quickly. Looks like the driver’s opening the door, so let’s get out.
Tumblr media
Niki: Wow…!
It’s the beach! Guys, we’re at the beach! Look!
The beach looks really gentle when it’s lit up by the moonlight. I don’t think I’ll be scared of the night if it looks like this~♪
Rinne: It’s nothin’ to make a fuss about. Didn’t you learn at school not to make so much noise at night?
Niki: Hey, that’s discrimination, Rinne-kun. You know I didn’t go to high school!
Kohaku: I didn’t, either. Could you refrain from such thoughtless remarks~?
Niki: You better write an apology letter, you hear!
HiMERU: Please, enough arguing, everyone. Being an idol is one of the few jobs where your academic background has little to no importance.
In any case, we haven’t reached the next town, so why have we been let off here?
Is the driver taking a break? Well, the driver let us off and has returned to the driver’s seat, so something isn’t right.
Kohaku: Hmm. How odd. Why were we dropped off at such a strange place…?
Don’t tell me they didn’t want to take us all the way to the next town?
No, if that’s true, then…
No! The truck left!
HiMERU: Ugh. Is this also something that was set up by the show?
They shook us off the moment we had a peace of mind… To think we fell for the same trick twice – it’s not very smart.
Niki: Hey, you two~ Don’t be so grumpy.
Kohaku: You say that but it doesn’t change the fact that we’re sufferin’ from one thing after the other.
Niki: No, that’s not what I mean… Come on, look over there!
Rinne: That’s… the ES company car we used before, right?
It’s weird that we were dropped off here of all places, but… was that truck driver also part of the show?
Niki: Yeah. There’s no way the driver would just dump us out here for no reason!
They did their job and brought us to our car!
HiMERU: They definitely dropped us off at a place where we could see the car and then promptly left.
They must have been someone that was involved with the show.
Rinne: Someone involved, huh? If that’s true, then I wish they were nicer to us~
HiMERU: They were plenty nice. After all, they helped us find our car.
Kohaku: And it looks like we’ve completed the “???” mission. We also get to see the conditions for the missions now.
HiMERU: Right. The mission just now was “Hitchhike your way to reclaim your stolen car”...
In other words, our situation fulfils the conditions for completion.
And our reward is “petrol”... It seems the ES company car has been filled.
Niki: Does that mean the ones who stole the car also filled it up?
Either way, it’s exactly as you guessed, HiMERU-kun. We can finally start driving on our own again!
We’ll leave the driving to you, Rinne-kun!
Rinne: Yup, just leave it to me… is what I’d love to say, but…
Niki: ?
Rinne: We’ve been holed up in a cramped and dark container for the past couple of hours. It might not be a bad idea to feel the night breeze and to breathe in some clean air for a bit, right?
Look, we can see the sea from the West Coast. It feels kinda weird when you realise our hometown is way beyond that, right?
Niki: What? You told me not to make a fuss and yet, here you are, enjoying this overseas trip to the fullest.
Well, it’s fine. It feels like we could finally catch a break.
We’ll rest for a bit, pick ourselves up and then roll the dice again.
Rinne: Yup. It’s definitely gonna get cold real quick, so we’ll head back into the car when it does.
Until then, let’s gaze out at the sea and rest for a while.
He’s Got His Mother’s Hips - 4 [Lights Out]
CWs: Death, awkward ass interactions, leigh is legit having a breakdown for half of this
The cards were powerful. 52 of them, completely controlled by the will of Leigh. April whooped with glee every time the effects would cause some sort of shenanigans. Leigh exploded a dumpster or three, the friends giggling at the loud bang and eruption of garbage.
Their commotion attracted a visitor. As they caught their breath on a rooftop, Mysterion landed near them.
“Petit Mort. Who is this?”
“He can talk, you know.” She sassed back, umbrella held defensively. Mysterion sighed and turned to Leigh.
“Name. Now.” The shorter man grinned, hands up in mock defense, as he approached.
“Me? I’m nobody important, big guy. I’m just Heartless.” He grabbed Mysterion’s hand in a handshake, grinning cheekily. “Heard a lot about you. It’s quite an honor.”
“You’re causing trouble.” He yanked his hand away harshly, a snarl in his voice and on his face. “Go home.”
“Oh, home? We just came out, really that would be such a shame…” Leigh trailed off, shuffling his cards in his hands. “See, I have a better idea.”
“Wha-?!” Mysterion gasped. Before he could blink, Heartless had made a staff with his cards and sent him plummeting to the ground. He grabbed at his side for his grappling hook, and-
Splat. Leigh looked downward horrified, yanking off his mask to gape down at what he’d done.
“No, no no no no.” He hyperventilated, looking teary eyed at April as he pulled up his mask. “Who… who is…” he choked out.
“…Kenny.” She swallowed hard, not daring to look for herself. Leigh dropped to his knees and wailed.
April pulled him up as he sobbed, dragging him back to his. He was exhausted from crying. She ensured he was safely inside before going to her house- and anonymously reported the body.
── .✦
Leigh’s mom forced him out of bed the next morning. He looked like shit, and didn’t even bother to bind. Just changed himself into cleaner pajamas to go to school in. He stood at the bus stop, nearly nodding off. Every time he felt like collapsing, the sight of Kenny’s body would scare him awake. The way his legs twisted. The blood. Leigh felt like vomiting.
Kyle felt a little relieved every time he saw Leigh standing there. Someone else sane that his friends hadn't scared off yet. His brows furrowed at the sight of the boy today, however. He looked awful, deep bags under his eyes and hair tangled in a fucked up ponytail. He was pale and trembled, resembling something like a crumpled tissue in the wind.
“Hey, you okay?” He asked, voice soft. Leigh jumped and looked at him with wide hazel eyes.
“F-fine. You?” He averted his gaze back to his feet.
“I’m good. Um, y'know you can talk to me. If you ever need it.” He sighed, not wanting to press the issue.
“Yeah. Thanks, Kyle.”
Before any more words could be said, Stan and Eric were at the bus stop, and the moment was gone.
── .✦
Leigh leaned his head on his hand, zoning out in class. Kyle kindly took a second set of notes for him, figuring that he would need them.
The door opened and both lazily looked up.
“Sorry I’m late.” Kenny panted. “I missed the bus.”
The teacher excused him to his seat. Leigh bore holes in the side of his head, trying to decide if this was real or if he had fallen asleep during the lecture. He swallowed hard and wrote a note, passing it over.
‘how?’
Kenny raised a brow at him quizzically and replied in the same fashion.
‘how what?’
‘how are you not dead?’
Kenny choked on air. He looked at the other boy with the widest eyes, excusing himself to the bathroom and sending Leigh a pointed look to excuse himself yoo. He did.
“You remember.” Kenny said, glancing underneath stalls for any stragglers as he locked the door.
“W-well, no. I mean, look. I walked up on your body while going on a walk last night.” He lied, hands shaking. “I called the cops about it. I had to watch them scrape you off of the pavement, Kenny.”
“I’m sorry you had to find out like that.” He relaxed. There’s no way the sniveling and trembling boy before him was a villain, let alone the one who killed him. “I.. I’m okay though. I always come back, okay? No need to worry about me.”
Leigh sniffled, nodding as Kenny held him by the cheeks to kiss his forehead. The small boy clung to him for at least three minutes before he let go.
“I’m happy you’re okay, Kenny.”
“Me too, Leigh.”
── .✦
Lunch was as usual, except April and Leigh huddled in a corner of the hallways to talk.
“He what?” She exclaimed. “There’s no fucking way.”
“Keep your voice down. And I swear to you, it happened.”
“Okay, let’s say I believe you. Who else would remember?”
“Other than him? I have no clue. Butters and Cartman are his best friends, right?” April scoffed.
“I wish they weren’t.”
“Hey-” Leigh started, cutting himself off as Butters made his way by. He sent a look to April before walking with the lanky blonde. “Hey, Butters?”
“Yeah Leigh?” He beamed, happy-go-lucky. “Whatcha need?”
“I know something.” Butters’s face fell into a grimace.
“Meet me at the U-Stor-It. Tonight. Unit two hundred twenty three.”
He walked off, mood returning to joyful as he went to lunch. Leigh stood baffled, looking at a smirking April.
“You just got a date with Chaos.”
