What you said about the period cramp simulator in that tags of that one post, it reminded me that one thing I'd like to do should I start dating someone is to get one of those so that when she's having her period she can tune it to wherever her cramps are that month and then let me use it so I can get an idea of how rough any given period is

You know... just kinda have a feedback mechanism so I can know how it's going and try and do what I can to make things suck less

That's a nice idea and all but I think if someone tells you they're in pain/discomfort you just try and help them???

#I'm the lucky few that don't have cramps so I can't say much but apparently heat pads and stuff help with them #just ask her if she needs anything. JUST crossed my mind that i should share here the keychains (and standee) that arrived around a month ago with the end roll chibis i did. these ones and this!!

more rambling and also a small video of the chris and russell one under the cut!!

there's definitely some things i'd adjust if i could, or ever got more. especially with the chris and russell one, which is my personal fave by far otherwise 🥺💗 the translucent effect for the buildings ended up a little too much i think in hindsight sob, and the gradient in the one line was def a risk with that too

but since i have a few duplicates of everything—especially the russell keychain thanks to a nice discount for getting a few more—that could still use some love, i'm thinking i might try ko-fi or vinted (or mercari??) for selling them to anyone interested? i'm not very familiar with all that at all, so i'd be happy to know if anyone has a preference or suggestions there. i'm too intimidated by etsy for something so minor and unsure on how well doing it without a website involved would work :o although i can still consider that definitely at a much lower price than if they were anything more final/refined. honestly i'd feel better even giving them out for free, but my wallet is crying too much from the cost of the order HAHA... i'll make a proper post once i figure all that out 👍

hihiii dw i haven’t gotten this ask before!! okay so i don’t know the specifics exactllly but it’s a HP laptop with a AMD Ryzen 5 7520U processor/graphics card? i think . it has like 8GB memory/ram and i wanna say 150GB something storage, if you want even more like SPECIFIC specifics when i open my laptop again tomroeow i can try investigate in my laptops settings LOL . just send another ask abt it and i’ll reply to it once i can get more info :3

my laptop runs it pretty well, sometimes it eats my cpu but yk . it also runs roblox which is awesome . so like . it’s pretty good! i think it was about £600 originally but i got it in september last year during a like.. student sale thing, so i got it for like £400, it works well tho for what it is!! i don’t know much abt laptops so i got a friend who studies computers to help me pick this one :3

#thinking of dinosaurs and troodontids were my favorite dinosaurs as a child #when younger i had a real full troodontid tooth fossil that meant a lot to me #for a time we lived within a few kilometers of hadrosaur sites and troodontid sites #while wider general area had many sites of recovery for the big celebrities like tyrannosaur and multiple dromaeosaurs #at that time troodontids were kinda infamous for i think the depiction in some childrens field guides and dino books #which depicted like a fantasy speculative humanoid troodontid based on 1980s model at Canadian Museum of Nature in ottawa #anyway would visit a small local paleo center a lot and woman in her 70s or 80s ran the counter of their center and rock shop #one day she asked me what my fave dino was and i said troodon so she pulled out the tooth and just gifted it to me #in little black case size of ring box with padding and transparent plastic viewing cover kinda like laminate for displaying a trading card #tooth got stolen from out my vehicle while giving some people a ride while at university before i got too poor for tuition #later during first year of pandemic owner of my storage unit died and new property owners threw away everything i ever owned #i was homeless anyway lost job due to early pandemic closures and had to allocate any money to insulin and other prescrip meds #but wouldve found a way to save my things if the new owners had contacted me #they threw out photoalbums y backpacking gear y books y musical instruments y clothes y artwork y camera y all family keepsakes #and all childhood treasures like souvenirs and gifts and school awards and writing portfolios and all the little memories #which i was always sentimental about as child #from earliest age my room looked like a natural history museum with plants and maps and library of field guides #and rocks and field trip keepsakes and all kinds of little animal figurines and mother had painted room in forest greens and browns #to feel like a forest and among the succulent plants and a globe sat the troodon tooth #parents passed when i was a child #never near any family and were always moving never got to settle into proper stable place then father passed after long sad illness #and mother put in so much effort but she passed few years later and i could not take care of myself or my remaining material possessions #and so im still quite hurt having nothing whatsoever remaining of my childhood or school friends or mother or life generally #and when trying to process grief my thoughts often come back to the troodontid tooth as a focal point a distillation of what was lost #even when young i knew it was advised not to become too connected to material physical possessions #but still there are some small little trinkets in our lives that seem to hold so much meaning and i tortured myself for losing that tooth #thinking about troodon reminds me of childhood

#art #traditional art #watercolour #inspired by the fact that in my studio classes recently - i and every other student who does watercolor or ink based work #always inevitable has viewers more drawn to our swatch test pages instead of our actual work LOL #i dont mind it too much i get it but it is funny so i thought yknow i have this tiny pad of watercolour paper that i dont feel like using #for normal drawings (too small) so i drew a shitty fish on each page and used it as a tester page whenever i was doing my #for-fun cartoon drawings <3 not looking at it at all just putting down the colour to check the consistency of paint #i think its kinda fun. its an interesting conundrum because that pure spontaneous quality u get from my test swatches Cannot be emulated on #purpose. i can get close and loosen up. but inevitably unless i make all my normal drawings test swatches while colouring in other stuff #my normal drawings will never truly have this quality. which i dont mind! but i thought itd be funny to find a way to still make something #with this intangible test swatch quality since people like it a lot! and it does look neat #also each one was a specific painting session. some were smaller sessions with only a few colours used #and some were really long sessions! and of course u can see how much brown and black and beige i use #and u can spot the traces of rosie in the green and pink HJKSDAHJKDSl hes always here #very interesting thing to play around with! i'd like to do something like this again i think

There will be a chapter this week, just not tonight! I'm currently trying to balance writing with some extra woodcarving time so I have a few more to sell in December cause damn is it a good season to make a little extra cash. The chapter though is almost done and just needs a good editing round!

i acknowledge this is a deranged request due to it being deranged behavior but i kind of wish there was like... a folder system within drafts

because right now i'm using it for storage for content about a lot of things i WANT to watch/play/read/whatever but haven't gotten around to for whatever reason and it would be very cool if i had like. a dune folder. a monkey man folder. a locked tomb folder. that i could just shove stuff in until i DO get around to it

#instead of scrolling through it every time i need to pad out my queue for a few days and seeing stuff i can't queue YET #vs stuff i just put in there to read later on when i'm not on mobile or whatever

anyone know if bookbinding glue works on canvas? im thinking i want to add a shield to my halloween costume next year and am trying to figure out how to attach the front

#not silm #not art #halloween #first attempt w cardboard hot glue and canvas worked fairly well but the back is kind of lumpy from the glue and the corners arent great #so im thinking of doing painted canvas on book board with binding glue to adhere it #so itll be nice and sturdy #not sure how i would attach the straps though #unfortunately im too busy to do much in the way of costume upgrades rn but for next year i have a few things in mind #i definitely want to do a cloak- i saw this nice quilted fabric at joanns that could work as an insulating/lining layer to give it weight #i really want to do fake fur trim for the Fancy Himring Cloak but ill have to find something im not allergic to #idk how to do cloak clasps but the actual sewing part should be reasonably simple since its mostly one piece #just have to attach the outer layer and the lining layer and hem the thing #for the helmet im trying to find larger brads that might work to add a rotating visor #idk how to get it to stay shut though. will probably have to adjust the angle so it doesnt keep getting stuck on my nose #and so i can actually wear glasses with it and not fall down every single set of stairs like last time i wore it #anyone know if there are like. sewing patterns but for 14th century helmets?#armor wise i might actually go with the slipper top for pauldrons #would probably be decently padded #gambeson means i need to learn how to sew shirts #so maybe thatll be a few years down the line #for the shield i have one custom heraldry and one feanorian heraldry. maybe ill make two shields idk #the cuirass is going to be harder - maybe alternate a few layers of cardboard and quilted fabric? would that get too thick tho #ive tested cardboard + heavy waffle blanket gambeson and that works pretty well so maybe just go with that #maybe a cheap bookboard layer for the top?#idk how well you can paint book board though. will have to run some experiments

I remember when I first arrived, i would get insane upset tummies because Hell food isn't made for angel bodies.

Now that I think back on it, I feel bad for having Charlie constantly take care of me when my tummy aches got bad. If I was little or big she would always cuddle with me and make me feel better

My body eventually got used to the food but that doesn't stop a cramp from from showing up once in a while
