qabqab are usually a lot shorter, like this:

the super tall ones were purposefully ostentatious so rich women could show how rich they were. (and i imagine having 5 servants helping you walk would be a good guarantee that you wouldn't slip...)

qabqab shoes originated in syria, possibly in the 14th century. different styles spread across the levant and into ottoman turkey, egypt, and tunisia. these clogs originated for wearing to protect from dirt on the street and inside bathhouses. they later evolved into a fashionable shoe.

the shoe is flat with wooden stilts - up to 26 cm - attached to the bottom. (the name "qabqab" comes from the sound they make when the wearer is walking). they can be decorated with carvings, precious stone inlays, and embroidery. in the past, they were usually associated with wealthy women - the higher the stilts, the more servants a woman would need to help her walk around.

down here I just talk about how I love science and black holes, it's not really interesting

Black holes, the space, the existence of atoms and their different states, quantum entanglement, gene transfer are so fascinating. And that everything may go beyond human understanding. I consider myself stupid for all this and easily confused, and forgetful, but I am still very fascinated by science, theories and the unknown. And usually my head starts to hurt after overthinking about this and reading too much with trying to understand and remember. just BLACK HOLES ARE SO COOOOOL AND BEAUTIFUL, AND UNREAL, AND MYSTERIOUS

Sometimes I get very active with interesting thing for me that I found very surprising, so I start yapping that I read and see about it to others. Even though I'm embarrassed and scared that I'll start to bother a lot with this. So, I wanted to say abruptly that I love these things

I want to thank everyone their support with reblogging my stuff over the years and reblogging some of the context of the situation.

Tumblr and Instagram is filled with the most supportive people I’ve ever had the chance of meeting. The last time something like this happened, I didn’t have much support, not even from people I thought were close to me. It took me a year or two to be okay with being perceived again in fandoms. So I’m very grateful for everything.

I just wanted to post that I appreciate all of the asks and I’ve been reading all of them. I actually get anxious I’m spamming everyone too much so I probably won’t reply to everything. Please don’t feel pressured to support me financially, there’s is a free option on patreon to follow. I’ll post future project plans and occasional updates because I still love comics and I still love DC/Marvel. thinking about caitvi but specifically the fact that caitlyn was the only person vi had left after she denounced jinx and she tried so hard to Be what caitlyn wanted but it was never enough because caitlyn wrapped herself so tight in grief and fury that she can't really see vi through the smoke anymore. "her blood runs through your veins." she sees jinx's sister defending her again, preventing cait from taking the shot. the shot that killed her mother. and vi cares so much about this kid that wouldn't have even gotten hurt because cait simply wouldn't have hit her. she could have only hit jinx. that was all she wanted her only goal and when vi defended an innocent, she took back all of the grace that she'd given vi and left her powerless again. can anyone hear me.
