I feel like whoever answered yes has never actually read or seen Jurassic Park
Like Jurassic Park, but anon offers a solution of the dinosaurs living in a natural preserve with no tourists.

hiii i have to put a warning on this for blood and a brutal attack by a dinosaur, but here’s a very quick thing i did of Dennis Nedry and the Dilophosaurus from the Jurassic Park novel!
here you go, dinosaur horror fans (aka me, this is very self-indulgent lol)
here’s some more text so that it hopefully puts the image below the text lmao
Tumblr media
i can’t draw people very well. the most time i spent on this was on trying to draw Nedry and i kinda gave up a little lmao. i hope it still looks okay.
honestly the novel is good. and they got the Dilophosaurus’ size right in that one, so i’m very confused why they went with a juvenile in the movie but absjdnfmfm i digress
enjoy, paleo-horror and Jurassic Park community ^^

Guys. If you haven't read the original Jurassic Park book, I'm begging you to. Everything good about the movie is even better in the book. Same goes for the sequel, The Lost World. They've both been living in my head rent free ever since I read them a year ago.
I'M NOT TRYING TO PERPETUATE THE "THE BOOK IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN THE MOVIE" THING BUT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOREVER TO SAY THIS

Imagine Jeff goldblum plays a role in a movie adaptation of your book and he makes the character so popular you have to bring them back from the dead for a sequel novel.
This shouldn’t be as funny as it is to me but jdkskskdkdk no I love when a character gets so popular a author has to go back and write “my death was greatly exaggerated”

hopping up and down aggressively. why does no one I ask know jurassic park was based on a book. why does no one talk about the book. literally I went on the jurassic park actual fandom wiki and the novel discussion page is so barren. literally it is so small and I kept scrolling past polls asking if anyone there had actually ever read the book. I am so frustrated rn like it’s so sad that everyone only remembers the movie, and not in an accurate light in most cases. no one talks about the fucking transgender dinosaurs in the nineties and this both saddens and angers me

One of many, many cool things about the Jurassic Park Novel is the kids’ first impressions scene
I love Tim (and arguably Lex’s) first impressions of the adults when they land on the island. One of the best scenes. It’s so great how the horror of meeting strange adults at an event you didn’t really want to go to is evoked here-brought back some little-kid memories LOL. But the first impressions are brilliant. Grant and Sattler make very good impressions, with their excited and outdoorsy vibe. Nedry makes a bad first impression (as a messy slob) but Tim does take notice of how young he is, too. Ed Regis makes a bad first impression for being so extroverted and forcing the kids to meet the rest of the adults, even after Lex protests multiple times. Gennaro and Malcolm end up in a third/fourth sort of category. Tim instantly notes Gennaro’s name and how he’s very argumentative with Hammond.  How Tim sees this depends on how you interpret his relationship with his grandfather!Malcolm doesn’t shake the kids hands but nods and presumably smiles from afar. Which is kind of funny considering the borderline hyperactive way he introduces himself to the rest of the cast earlier on the plane. I think this is his way of respecting how the kids are off-put by meeting the guests. Either way, this gives Tim the impression of very weird but friendly which is spot on. And really, all of the impressions are spot on. It’s brilliant and I love it.

"The greatest predator the world has ever known. The most fearsome attack in human history. Somewhere in the back of his publicist’s brain, Ed Regis was still writing copy."

y’all, hear me out..
so after they are done with the whole jurassic world franchise, imagine a different movie created that finally goes by the name of “michael crichton’s: jurassic park”
now, i’m not saying a remake of the original film. no. i’m talking about a full blown novel accurate version of the real: jurassic park.
the novel is not exactly 100% similar to the movie. not at all. this book was far gorier and classified as a horror, whereas the actual movie was viewed by yes, adults. but also younger audiences.
i mean, imagine getting to see a novel accurate version of dennis nedry’s death, or the poor baby who was killed by the compys. even henry wu being eaten alive by velociraptors.
it would be brutal, but damn.. i’d love to see that shit..

I love Gennaro. He can just make up a bunch of nonsense using his legal jargon and everyone will believe him
