Maroh's story is well-told and finely illustrated, if filled with fairly predictable homophobic responses and tensions; flawed, perhaps, by its final third that disrupts the pacing and storytelling.

The soft purring from Simba entering the room had already stirred you from your sleep. By the time he was jumping up onto the bed, you were awake enough to open your eyes. You had to say you infinitely preferred this way of being woken up than your loud alarm. Being on a vacation with Sungho and visiting his family and your future in-laws for the first time, you were pretty sure everyone would love you. Sungho had already talked about you a lot, and you were more than excited to meet his brother and parents. 

The only worry was if Simba would like you or not. But like seemed to be an understatement. Simba had taken an interest in you the second you walked through the door. It was now the third day you had been staying over, and he quite literally hadn’t left you alone that whole time.

Sungho had always been clingy, but your fiancé was nothing compared to his cat. Simba slowly crept closer to your figure under the blankets, gently rubbing his cheek against your shoulder until you rolled over. Your face was next, as he purred against it and licked your cheek.

You blinked open your eyes, met with the furry creature right in front of them. A sleepy chuckle escaped your lips as you stroked his head, hearing his purrs get louder immediately. He was such a clingy cat.

“Jagiya…” Sungho’s morning voice brought a warm flutter to your stomach. His hand circled around your waist in a failed attempt to pull you closer to himself. Simba didn’t seem to like that idea and batted at his wrist softly. “Simba, no, she’s mine.” He told the cat grumpily, this time successfully pulling you back into his chest.

“I don’t know, Sungho. Simba is awfully cute.” You giggled, holding out your hand for Simba to continue rubbing against, spreading his scent on your skin as a way to mark his territory. 

“Simba didn’t propose to you.” His response came out only as a whisper as he tightened his arms around you. You could tell the discussion was already over, so you gladly relaxed into his arms as Simba got himself comfy cuddling next to you.

“He takes after you. Possessive and clingy.” You grinned, kissing Simba’s soft forehead gently, met with a happy chirp from the feline.

“It’s you. Of course I’m possessive.” Sungho’s reply attempting to shift the blame made you giggle. The cat had gotten comfy in a cozy ball, head nestled on his arms. Seeing that he had gotten ample pets from you, you rolled over to face your other needy kitty who came in the form of your fiancé.

“Pets for you too, mister? Or do you like kisses better?” You teased. Sungho’s lips curved up slightly at your words, though his eyes were still closed, clinging onto the last bit of rest he could get. 

“Kiss.” He nudged your arm, eyes still peacefully closed, waiting for you to do all the work to reach his lips. Kisses with Sungho in the morning were always soft and slow. His energy was lingering, but his passion still came across with the way his lips moved. He was never lackluster, but perfectly savored every taste of you that he got.

Perhaps it was his own way of marking his territory; with his lips.

• one book I started: Erebos, because a friend lent me the sequel and I wanted to reread the original first

• one I continued: discworld Pyramids - i think i need to just get the next one, this one's dragging o.o even though it's hilarious af! I don't even know what precisely my problem with that book is. Maybe it's too funny and absurd? Though the other discworlds are Like That too and I didn't have the issue... anyway I need to put it down after like each page so eh O.o

• and one book I read start to finish: Karl May's Old Surehand II, I never read any Karl May before but when i was once again struggling with Pyramids and saw that it was right there... It's somehow less racist than I expected from what I heard about it? Like, some surprisingly(?) progressive views about the land being stolen from the native americans, things like that. still pretty racist in places tho, and oh god the religious rants... and of course the language itself is ~a product of its time~. But all in all pretty fun read, well written storylines, I'm reading Winnetou (the actual first part) now, borrowed from my grandpa who's got the entire collection!

And I wanted to read a book (Running out of Time) because of this Insta Reel, the story sounds really fascinating and sb being basically dropped in a different time/environment from what they're used to sounds right up my alley - part of why i like SIOC fics so much - but of course now it's insta famous and unavailable in all the online libraries xD and the local library doesn't have it :{ oh well! goes on my To Read

I found my copies of ASOIAF (and while I won’t comment on the state of them, aCoK and aSoS took far too many Milan/London - London/Milan planes for their own good) I totally forgot about the fact that I try to re-read the thing twice already, and yes, during the first re-read I stopped at Theon’s first chapter, but during the second I stopped to even a worse one…

Aka THAT Catelyn chapter… and I don’t even know if start to re-read them from AGOT and get over with it or cry my eyes out where I left the second time I tried to go through with the entire thing and THEN go on with the other ones.

📝 spending the winter vacation with an ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend was not something anyone would ever consider doing. spending the winter vacation with both an ex-boyfriend, his new girlfriend, and the one night stand you’d used to try to get over him, well that was a whole other situation that anyone sane would have fled from. and yet, here you are. caught between your best friend (and consequently your ex-boyfriend), and the very same man who you’d fallen into bed with after a night of wallowing in self pity. all while stuck in the picturesquely beautiful - and cruelly romantic - austrian alps. well. at least you can say you had an interesting christmas.

🗨️ PERFECTION 💯 This was so fucking incredible, I don’t know where to begin… I love Jin in this, he’s so fucking funny charming, sweet, kind and witty. He’s so him. The dynamic between all of the characters was amazing, and the tension and unresolved feelings between oc and Jungkook was so fucking good! I loved all the jealousy too, and then the fading of the jealousy. When things shifted for oc, how Seokjin helped her, and in that, she fell for him 🤧 Such a lovely Christmas story! There’s a lot of angst in it, yes, and tension, dear god, the tension is so good 😭 there humor, happiness, live and friendship. And missed chances, living with consequences 🥹✨ IT WAS SO FUCKING GOOD. IF YOU HAVEN’T READ IT BEFORE, DO IT NOW, AND IF YOU HAVE, READ IT AGAIN 💖

But what’s more surprising to you is that despite his name, reputation, and the fact he’s always joked he’d have killed anyone else by this point, is that he’s never once tried to cause you harm. Actually, he’s almost…protective of you. In his own weird way. And obnoxiously flirty.

There’s so much lore, and brilliant storytelling and the writing was just so fucking suberb ✨ This is hands down one of the best stories I’ve ever read, and I’m so happy I did and I’ll revisit this story again sometime, because, fuck, it was just soo fucking good!!! 😭 I think this will be a perfect read at least once a year, preferably around Halloween— and then also on Yoongi’s birthday, because 🥵 Really, you should read this anything, multiple times! It really describes some struggles of marriage and relationships so well, how they handle the tough times! It was such a good read! Is it angsty? Yeah. Did I cry? Yeah. It was just perfection. I was really moved by this. So relatable, raw and realistic. So emotional. So beautiful 🤧💖

🗨️ it was so good! And I feel like I want to know so much more about why Jungkook doesn’t like Jimin, why he’s saying not to invite him into OC’s life. 🗨️ omg this was so fucking amazing 😭✨ The characters are amazing in this, there’s cute backstory, details and the sibling bond is top tier, and the chemistry between oc and Jungkook is so fucking good! The tension is perfect and I love the slow burn 🥰 I feel this was also a bit on the existential side, which I really love. Like the dialogue had me thinking about my own life! I love when that happens! And it was so fun reading about siblings, and I’m missing my own baby sister right now. Anyway, it was exceptionally good! Amazing! 💯 And there’s a mention of Jungkook’s glazed potato incident you can’t miss! It was so fun (both this and the run episode 😂). Can’t recommend this one enough!!
