Growth and gift.
As isabela and Dolores grow they are gifted another baby.
Modern au
"Isabela just turned one four months ago, how did this happen?" Julieta thought as she looked at the positive pregnancy test on the bathroom counter.
"Mi amor, are you ok?" Agustin asked on the opposite side of the locked door.
"I-I'm fine." Julieta said stuffing the test into her bra so Agustin wouldn't see. She exited the bathroom a moment later with a smile so he wouldn't be suspicious.
"Can you help Felix put the girls down for their nap while I make lunch with Pepa?" Julieta asked calmly trying not to show the obvious nervousness in her tone.
"of course, we'll even pull out the winter clothes to go through after dinner." Agustin said going to find his daughter.
"Pepa, come help me make lunch" Julieta called.
"Ok, but don't you usually shoo me out of the kitchen to do it all yourself?" Pepa said following her sister downstairs.
"I still would but I need to talk to you," Julieta said.
"What's wrong?" Pepa said planting herself on the countertop near where Julieta was cooking.
"So I was supposed to get my period on Tuesday and it's Saturday and I haven't had it yet so I took a pregnancy test just to see and it came out positive." Julieta said
"Oh. What were you two doing? We've barely had time away from the girls," Pepa said.
"I know, but that weekend we sent them to mama's, Agustin and I took full advantage." Julieta said.
"Are you telling him?" Pepa asked hopping down from her perch to get a glass of water, but in a wine glass because it felt appropriate for the sisterly gossip.
"well I wanted to talk to you about that, I want to surprise him," Julieta said
"I have an idea, let me call my girlfriend Pam, she's a creative genius and she has a knack for pregnancy announcements." Pepa said picking up the home phone and dialing the number
"hey Pam, I need a favor, and a bottle of alcohol free wine,"
Several days later when Agustin got home from work one evening, he went to change out of his work clothes and saw a box on the bed.
He opened it and unwrapped the tissue paper. In it he found the positive pregnancy test and a onesie that said 'look out world, here I come'
"Julieta?" He said quietly.
"I'm right here," she said emerging from the bathroom with her blue nightgown on and hair nearly wrapped up in a towel.
"is this true?" He asked
"yeah I've got the first ultrasound next week," Julieta said
"I'm gonna be a dad again," he laughed picking up his wife and twirling her around.
Seven months pass with happiness and explanation to the girls. It is nearing Isabela and Doloress birthdays and Julieta knew this baby would be born in September.
She was struggling though, her belly was huge, bigger than when Isabela was born. And her back hurts worse than it ever had, and she was still in her 20's. She prayed she wasn't carrying twins, one was plenty. Especially since having a two year old is hard enough.
The first week of September came and that Saturday she was admitted after her water broke. It wasn't until Sunday evening that her baby girl was born. A whipping 6 pounds 9 ounces. She was even smaller than Isabela who weighed in at 8 pounds 3 ounces at birth.
What Julieta wondered is how something so small could take up so much room. Julueta was so large by the time she had this little girl everyone around town was questioning whether or not she had twins cooking in her. By the end Julieta was wondering herself if somehow she had twins.
But never less her second daughter was born and beautiful. Agustin took the liberty of letting Julieta have some time with their baby to go get her something to eat. His poor wife hasn't eaten anything for almost 30 hours.
After she had eaten and the baby had successfully latched and nursed. They had to decide on a name.
"I feel like she looks like a Luise," Agustin said looking at the sleeping infant.
"I was thinking Lisa," Julieta voiced.
"Luisa, it combines both names," Agustin suggested.
"I love it, Luisa Everly, a perfect name for our beautiful daughter," Julieta smiled.
After filling out the paperwork they got to go home with baby Luisa and introduce her to the girls.
When they arrived the two toddlers looked at the carrier.
"This is your sister Isa," Julieta said trying to get Isa to interact with Luisa.
Neither girl was interested in the infant, but Julieta expected that in this stage. By the time the eldest two got their own room, they would be pulling Luisa around with them.
And now the beginning of something wonderful.

Hurricane is red
After some time in Encanto, AgustĂn starts getting friends.
Twice to once!
AgustĂn sat in the warm room. The stuff air rose around, pushing out of the window shutters. The fingers of his healthy hand squeezed the swelling on the opposite arms. The pain sizzled with fire under his skin, crawling all over the limb. Even being accident-prone, all types of broken bones, cuts, and animal bites were no pleasant. He was looking for Luisa earlier, planning to get her for a break. His daughter didn't have very healthy work habits, so AgĂșstin tried to force her to rest himself. Most of the time, it worked as much as a rusty grinder.
So, now he sat after tripping in a very bad place. And he hadn't even seen Luisa. Much to his shocking delight, she didn't seem to work at the moment. His arm swelled, dripping with sizzling fire inside his bones. Agustín kept it still, not willing to feel more pain. There might or might not be any cracking sounds around the time he fell. Skin turned an oxygenless bluish pattern.
The door slammed as if it were a drum that the drummer happened to hit too hard. Pepa, the tall gingerheaded woman broke in, scowling. Her loud footsteps echoed in the room as a series of deep scratches covered her cheek. The other one was on her arm. She might need stitches for that
"Hello?" AgustĂn asked, clamming his palms and leaning forward to see her.
Pepa clutched her jaw, looking down at him. "You here too?" She took a deep breath, whispering "Clear skies" and waving her hands over her head. Red stood bright on her pale thin skin.
Agustín stared at it, not knowing how to react. His brows furrowed as Pepa kept pushing an imaginary cloud away.
Pepa paced around the room, energy spilling out of her body. Agustín didn't know what to say. The ginger Madrigal was an... expressive woman. Emotional and unsteady. Her healthy hand pressed against the damage. Face squirmed as the red vessels ran down
"So, how are you?"  Agustín asked, to clear up the silent environment. The Madrigal was definitely in a bad condition. But it wasn't anything better if they just waited.
Pepa chucked, cracking her back. "Ah, it's nothing, I've got so many injuries way worse than this in my teenage years!" She stated proud of herself, pale hand gripped onto her head. The blood clung to the ginger hair, but Pepa just shrugged it off after being told about this.
The funny thing that AgustĂn had learned after a bit of chatting was that Pepa was pretty much accident-prone too. It was better now but in her childhood... Oh boy! It wasn't clumsiness, she just loved seeking some troubles. AgustĂn supposed they could've been good friends. Or maybe he would've been dead by now. He got into enough painful situations without anyone dragging him along for an adventure. And she was energetic too. AgustĂn couldn't recall seeing her standing in one place longer than a very short time period. Like a boiling sun ball, never stopping.
She talked a lot, almost constantly once they got used to each other. AgustĂn didn't spend much time with the Madrigals. He supposed they had way better things to do and he still adjusted to the place. Because it was crazy. He had to expect that a town that was stuck in the middle of nowhere wasn't modern but this... everyone was so old-fashioned. AgustĂn preferred city clothes style, used to it way more than standard village shirts. He didn't even mention how strange everyone acted. Three days ago he saw a couple, reaction to rain as if it was the most shocking thing they could've waited for. And the lack of any medical place, only some elderly helping in their houses. All the doctors that he had met were so old... No offense.
He and Pepa walked down the streets. Now AgustĂn got a sling, holding his broken arm. Pepa complained that she had some minor injury and Julieta got worked up over nothing.
"Your hermana forces you to make sure you're okay?" AgustĂn clarified, his heart melted into a bubbling shape. It was cute. "That's so sweet of her."
Pepa shrugged, jumping forward. "Well that's her role." She jumped over the cracks like a child.
What did she mean by 'role'? Some siblingly thing probably. But AgustĂn lacked context to be sure about this.
Encanto was an unusual place, sticky like melted cheese, things had spread in a rapid temp. Always moving but frozen.
"Are you free tomorrow?" Pepa turned to him, standing in front of the house. Not the one she stayed in when AgustĂn first met the Madrigals. But he supposed it was fair, it didn't have enough space for such a big family.
He nodded, fixing his glasses. Hm, he would need to ask if anyone has a tape in here to glue it. "I think yes, just need to make sure Luisa doesn't overwork herself."
Peps's green eyes lightened. "Yes!" She threw her hands to the sides. "There's a cool cave in the mountains, we're gonna see it." She asked, not bothering to wonder if AgustĂn himself wanted it too. He doubted he should go anywhere with his arm broken. He had enough self-acknowledge to realize how worse his wound would become. And he had a feeling Pepa shouldn't put much pressure on herself either.
"Maybe we should wait until we're healed?" AgustĂn asked, trying to get some sense into Pepa.
The woman crossed her arms, scoffing. "It's nothing!"
He and Pepa became friends after this. The latter soon pushed AgustĂn to socialize with the rest of the adult Madrigals. But it worked only with Julieta and FĂ©lix. Not much, but he knew it was a result. It was less than a month since he and Luisa came here. Still unused to the things around. The place felt like stuck in time, the look of shock when AgustĂn told them about simple modern injenery or principles was shocking.
Pepa was hyperactive and anxiously emotional in every of her movements. Felix stood steady as a pillow where his wife could fall. So caring and supportive. Truly they had a marriage made in heaven. Julieta was single, not like Agustín could say anything on this account.  He didn't want to ask questions, knowing how uncomfortable it could be. Especially when you moved to a new place. He supposed everyone in Encanto knew about what happened (except for himself) so maybe Julieta at least didn't have to deal with the blunt people.

Rain, Rain, Go Away...
@justadreaminghufflepuff asked for: Pepa going to water the fields after Bruno leaves and remembering how Bruno used to tag along when they were young so he could tell her sad stories to get the job done then funny ones to make her smile again.
Sorry this took so long! Please note that one of the stories mentions animal death (not in detail), so be mindful if that’s something that would upset you.
It had been a rainy spring. Sure, springtime normally brought plenty of showers, but Pepa’s gift helped compensate for any lack of rainfall in the encanto.
There had been a lot of compensation that year.
It wasn’t like Pepa could help it. Her gift was still, as a forty-year-old woman, not fully under her control. Usually, she’d rely on FĂ©lix or her siblings to help her harness whatever emotion would produce the desired weather. Well, one sibling in particular

Yet even in his absence, he caused Pepa to rain. Torrential storms tormented the town, causing the river to flood over. Fortunately, many of the crops hadn’t been planted yet, so not much was lost. With some grumbling, the farmers agreed to wait until the rain was under control before planting. A delay was better than no food at all. They would still be fed that winter.
Eventually, the rains dried up. The river receded to its normal levels, and the ground gave up the extra water it had been harboring. Crops were planted. Young plants were tended to. For a time, everything was running smoothly.
Then the dry spell began. There would be no rain for long stretches of time, interspersed by brief intense showers. Evidently, it was going to be a dry year.
Apparently Pepa had been compensating far more than everyone had realized.
Although the townspeople had been avoiding contacting Pepa, out of both respect for the family’s loss and fear of her reaction, it had become inevitable. If it didn’t rain, their crops would be lost.
So, a brave soul reached out to Julieta in the marketplace, asking her to pass the message onto her sister. No one dared confront her directly. They’d seen what happened to people who invoked her wrath. The charred remains of that cobblestone could still be seen in the plaza.
But Julieta had a way of speaking to Pepa that calmed even her most extreme emotion. Whether it was elation scorching the ground, or sorrow drowning everything, Julieta was able to soothe Pepa back to a state of tranquility. It was an ability honed over years of experience. Not even FĂ©lix was able to calm her so thoroughly. With him, Pepa would be so grateful to calm down that sunlight would burst out whether people liked it or not.
When complete calm was needed, people turned to Julieta. Some commented, in hushed whispers, that this gift was just as valuable as her healing.
And so, Pepa found herself leaving the house for the first time since
well, since what had happened after Mirabel’s gift ceremony. Her feet knew the way, leading her up the path towards the fields and their parched crops.
She wasn’t quite sure how this would go. Normally, her brother would accompany her on the trip; helping her use her gift and do what was needed, since Pepa couldn’t exactly force herself to cry on command. He’d come up with some sad story to tug on her heartstrings and make her cry long enough to water the crops, then just as easily tell her something happy to cheer her back up and stop the rain. In return, Pepa would help him when his visions left him shaken and terrified.
Somehow, the Madrigal gifts weren’t really gifts to the Madrigals themselves.
It had started when she was little. After a short adjustment period, when people saw that she’d gained a modicum of control over her gift, they immediately started requesting her to make it rain on command. They requested sun sometimes, or a gust of wind occasionally on a sweltering day when they wanted to cool down, but it was primarily rain they’d ask for.
The first time Pepa went to the fields, she was by herself. She stood there for what felt like hours, trying desperately to make herself sad enough for it to rain. Ultimately, it was the thought that she’d be a failure who would let down her mamá that finally brought down the rain. But she had gotten so sad over the situation that she wasn’t able to make the rain stop for far too long. She had walked home in waterlogged alpargatas that day.
Following that incident, her mamá had decided someone should go with her when she went to water the crops; just to keep an eye on her and make sure she was okay. Bruno and Julieta would take turns at first, but as Julieta got busier and busier with her healing, Bruno was left as Pepa’s companion.
She wouldn’t trade it for anything.
At home, Bruno still acted like a normal brother, annoying her and causing her grief. But when they were at the fields, he was her biggest support. Pepa remembered the first story he told her to get her to cry. It was a horribly sad tale about a bunny that had died. She’d begun sobbing uncontrollably, and then Bruno quickly reassured her that the bunny had been healed somehow and came back to life.
The first time she heard this ending caught her off guard. It was impossible, she argued. Dead things don’t just come back to life.
Well, it was a story, Bruno shot back, so it could have whatever ending they wanted. Didn’t she want the bunny to be alive again? Then stop complaining. Stories were allowed to have impossible things happen. That’s what made them stories and not real life.
Pepa had to concede, she did like the ending where the bunny lived again. From then on, she began to wholeheartedly believe in the impossible.
She still wanted to believe that impossible things could happen. Except now her wishes were far less naĂŻve than wanting a bunny to come back to life.
Every time they went to the fields, Bruno would tell her the story of the bunny. The details would vary, but the overall plot remained the same: the bunny died, somehow the bunny came back to life, everyone lived happily ever after, the end. As they grew older, the story morphed to fit her newfound interests. Dying animals gave way to star-crossed lovers, kept tragically apart by various circumstances (varying in intensity depending on how much rain was needed), but always, always, reunited at the end.
Pepa adored these stories, with their drama and twists and turns. She joked that Bruno should write them down, like a book or a play. Surely other people would enjoy her brother’s creativity too.
(When she discovered romance novels, she was just delighted.)
But she couldn’t dwell on those memories now. Not when she trudged towards the field with heavy feet and a heavier heart. She had to focus on the task at hand: make it rain enough to water the crops, and not so much that it would flood the fields. The last few weeks, she had been feeling numb; not really sad or angry or upset anymore, just a kind of flat buzzing filling the void left by the intense emotions that had wracked her after
well, after. She wasn’t sure whether she’d be able to make it rain.
Finally, she reached the fields. She surveyed the plants; taking in wilted, yellowing leaves with curled edges desperately crying out for water.
The buzzing was still in her head.
She missed Bruno.
She wished Bruno was here.
She missed Bruno.
But he wasn’t. He was gone.
She missed Bruno.
She might never see him again.
Suddenly, the floodgates opened.
It turned out she didn’t have to worry about whether she could make it rain.
Making it stop would be the real problem.

I had an au where Julieta did something kinda evil as a means to help her family when she realized the source of issues was Alma. She found a plant and put Alma's morning coffee. She fell into a coma that Julieta maintained for ten years until the last of the plant had been used up and when Alma woke up, the Encanto was completely different
PAUUSEEEEE 💀 Dang Alma really must’ve pissed her off 😭 Like??? Julieta did NOT let that slide. FOR 10 YEARS
.I assume she either just left the candle to itS own devices or she took over as candle holder. And like. Nobody could figure out why Alma went to a coma. Like she’s obviously not dead, so that’s good. But best they can do is chalk it up to the stress of running to the Encanto getting to her. And Julieta just. ‘cared’ for her. Gave updates on her condition. Alma probably never got sick during that time period either high??? She was just knocked tf out đŸ«Ą
BUT. Julieta’s does a good job at running the encanto. Sure, she lowers the work load on her family GREATLY, but like the town gets used to it. Clearly they still function with less word. And Julieta prevents any relationships from becoming strained. And probably prevents Bruno from leaving, let’s be real here. Also??? Does it happen before or after Mirabel’s ceremony? Cause that would make a big difference in a lot of things.

Papa can you tell us the aftermath of your wedding day, you seemed pretty upset at Bruno did it change anything between the two of you for a bit. Feel free to let out your emotions with this I know you love your brother in the end.
I have the most conflicting opinions about my wedding day. When Bruno made the joke about it looking like rain, I took it literally. I had a history of taking a lot of jokes literally, so it led to a bigger anxiety attack than what I had at the moment. When Felix began reciting his vows, I could not help but stop the hurricane and turned it into a rainbow. That didn't fix all that damage that was done, though. The entire town square needed to be cleaned and the reception had to be in Casita's courtyard. Thankfully, nobody died, but several people got injured and Julieta needed to make extra healing food for them.
During that short period of time between the ceremony and the reception, I had to change into something else because the dress and veil were drenched and completely ruined and it would take way too long to dry. Julieta was nice enough to let me borrow her wedding dress (we planned our weddings accordingly and she got married a couple months before I did) for the reception. I didn't think it was going to fit me because of how tall I am, but surprisingly, it actually fit me. That meant Felix had two surprises with the dress. Although before Julieta even gave me the dress, Felix came in to see how I was doing before we dried each other off. He ended up seeing me naked, so he also cheered me up in... let's just say a way he knows how to cheer me up every time, and our first time as newlyweds.
As for how this affected my relationship with Bruno, I couldn't talk to him for three days. I was so upset that I didn't know how I was going to confront him about it because I was scared I was going to zap him with lightning and hurt him. Almost a year after, he asked me if I was still angry at him; that was when I had to come clean with him. We decided to go to the park mama used to take us when we were children to talk everything out together and allowed me to let my emotions out somewhere where mama couldn't see. It made me feel a lot better and for a while, the wedding didn't bother me all that much. Then Mirabel's gift ceremony came around and he left later that night.
All of a sudden, all the thoughts about what he said at my wedding started to come back. I was so upset that Bruno left that I needed to have some excuse to be angry at him because everyone else was. Every time Bruno was brought up I tried my hardest to dodge the conversation because thinking about him made me too upset. I was so overjoyed when he came back and apologized once again that I had to pull him away while we were rebuilding Casita to apologize to him too.

2022 Fic Year in Review
Alright y'all, time for one of my favourite new year activities- looking back at all of the weird shit I wrote last year! I always love being able to look back and see all the things I've created and the progress I've made. So without further ado, here it is: Your Local Trash Goblin's 2022 Fic Year in Review!
Fandoms Written For: Inception (6), The Batman (2), Star Wars Rebels (1), The Guest (2), Encanto (1), Kingdom (1)
Total Word Count: 231,264
Fic With the Most Comments: With Words I Thought I'd Never Speak
Fic With the Most Bookmarks: A Remedy for Sadness
Fic I'm Proudest Of: Mile Deep Hollow
January
A Remedy for Sadness
Fandom: Encanto
Rating: General
Word Count: 3.5k
Summary: Julieta healed injuries and sicknesses with the food she made. But more than that, she used her food to show love.
I went through a brief period where I, like many on Tumblr, was absolutely obsessed with Bruno we don't talk about him and this was the result lol. I had a really fun time writing the sibling dynamic between Bruno and Julieta since that's not a dynamic I necessarily end up writing very often
February
Title: One Hand Above the Skin (My Head Below the Water)
Fandom: The Guest (Choi Yoon/Hwa-pyung)
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 3.4k
Summary: Choi Yoon had been told over and over that facing evil directly took a permanent toll on one's mind and soul. Park Il-do was gone but his minions weren't, and Yoon found himself starting down several roads he wasn't sure he could come back from in an attempt to handle it
My K-drama obsession during internship interviews lol. Excellent show, highly recommend it
Title: Warmth Untouched by Cold
Fandom: Kingdom (Lee Chang/Yeong-shin)
Rating: General
Word Count: 2.3k
Summary: If someone had told Yeong-shin a year ago that he would willing stay by the side of a noble, he would have laughed in their face. Long months of travel and late nights around a fire had bred a sense of familiarity and companionship, though, and the more Yeong-shin came to know the former Crown Prince, the more he found himself caring for the very human man who existed behind the title
Decided to rewatch Kingdom as a post-internship match treat, and ended up revisiting an old WIP I had for it! Unironically one of the most beautiful shows I've ever watched, please do yourself a favour and watch it
March
Title: Only Human
Fandom: Star Wars Rebels (Kallus/Zeb)
Rating: General
Word Count: 41.7k
Summary: After two years in the rebellion, Kallus had finally found his place. It hadn't always been a smooth process, but he'd found enough acceptance to get by. That didn't mean he didn't still have a few secrets, though, secrets he'd kept for most of his life. Between the passage of time and the chaos of moving the base from Yavin IV to Hoth, keeping those secrets was about to get a lot harder. But maybe that wasn't the worst thing in the world
My entry for the 2022 Kalluzeb Minibang! I'd had the hc of Kallus being partially non-human for a while, and it was really fun to finally write a story to go with it. Plus it has some amazing art!
April
Title: Running Through My Veins Like Sin
Fandom: The Guest (Choi Yoon/Hwa-pyung)
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 32.2k (on-going)
On GOD I am going to finish this fic eventually, I promise agdkfjdh. I absolutely writing Yoon in this fic and I have a wonderful arc planned out for him, so I AM going to finish it. I just got distracted agdkd
Title: Comfort is a Heavy Blanket
Fandom: The Batman
Rating: General
Word Count: 2k
Summary: Alfred knew why Mr. Wayne had let an injured Carmine Falcone into his house to give him treatment, but that didn't mean he liked it. It was a dangerous situation, and the realization that five year old Bruce had witnessed all of it just made it worse
Oh The Batman. I saw you in theaters three times and you gripped me like a rabid animal. I absolutely loved Bruce and Alfred's relationship in this movie as well as the phenomenally Autistic Vibes(tm) of Battison
July (aka A Very Busy Month)
Title: With Words I Thought I'd Never Speak
Fandom: The Batman (Bruce/Martinez)
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 24.6k (on-going)
Summary: In the year following the Riddler's attacks, Martinez somehow found himself involved at least peripherally with two of Gotham's odder figures: Batman and Bruce Wayne. For all his initial dislike of Batman, a year's worth of cases resulted in a somewhat grudging respect for the vigilante's intelligence and investigative skill, even if he never quite became any less strange and unsettling. Martinez developed a new found appreciation for Bruce Wayne as well, an odd but likeable man who was pleasant to work with in his own awkward way. During an investigation into a death possibly connected to Penguin, Martinez accidentally learns that the two odd characters he's spent an increasing amount of time interacting with over the past year are actually the same person, who's far more complex (and far more human) than he'd ever realized
If I wasn't prepared for the death grip The Batman had on my brain, I DEFINITELY wasn't prepared for falling into the Bruce/Martinez dumpster fire. I love them so much. I also got distracted while writing this fic, but I have the basic plot points mapped out, and on GOD I will finish this one too
Title: As Warm As Whiskey (And Ten Times Better)
Fandom: Inception (Arthur/Eames)
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 1.3k
Summary: Watching Arthur get drunk was a process Eames had seen many times over the years, but that didn't make him enjoy it any less
It had been too long since I'd written for my Disaster Criminal Blorbos, but I was about to fix that lol. A short fic inspired by an Inception30DayChallenge prompt
Title: Such Great Heights
Fandom: Inception (Arthur/Eames)
Rating: General
Word Count: 51.5k
Summary: When the market crashed four years ago, things went to hell for a lot of people. Eames has done okay, though- his job as a reporter at the New York Herald Tribune was secure enough that he managed to keep it, and he was good enough at it that he made enough to get by. He has a strict rule, though: no photographers. Working with freelancers has always been a crapshoot, and it's only gotten worse over the past few years. When the Rockefellers insist on a photographer for the Tribune's upcoming story on their new building, though, Eames is forced to choose between dropping the best paying story he's had in four years or working with Arthur, the freelance photographer hired on the recommendation of Eames' editor, Dom. He's an odd man who clearly has a past and who, as Eames spends more time with him, is just maybe worth getting to know a bit better.
My entry for the 2022 Inception Big Bang! It was inspired by a combination of a real life photographer and a surprisingly fun horror movie about WWI zombie parasites (no parasites or zombies in the fic itself). I had a lot of fun writing it, and it has some amazing art!
Title: A Stranger's Kindness
Fandom: Inception
Rating: General
Word Count: 2.9k
Summary: Long before a reporter met a photographer in New York, a young woman found a soldier in a field in France.
The story of how Arthur and Mal met
A short prequel to Such Great Heights! Arthur and Mal's friendship wasn't a central part to the larger fic, but it was a relationship I found really interesting while developing the story and I wanted to expand on it a little more
Title: Relinquish
Fandom: Inception (Arthur/Eames)
Rating: Explicit
Word Count: 3.4k
Summary: Arthur liked to be in control, or at least on even footing with whoever he was interacting with. That was how he’d always been. Just
maybe not with Eames. The thought of letting someone else take control, letting Eames take control, was
different. Intriguing. Enticing. Enough so that he hadn’t been able to stop thinking about it. Maybe even imagining what it would be like, more often than he cared to admit over the recent weeks, and what had started as a bit of teasing had started to become more and more serious in his mind.
This one's literally just porn. I had a lot of fun writing it lol
Title: Taking the Leap
Fandom: Inception (Arthur/Eames)
Rating: General
Word Count: 1.7k
Summary: Personal information wasn't something easily or freely shared in the world of extraction. But sometimes the risk of vulnerability was worth it
Trans Arthur and nonbinary Eames my beloved ^-^ this is the first entry into what will eventually become a series
December
Title: Mile Deep Hollow
Fandom: Inception (Arthur/Eames)
Rating: General
Word Count: 60.6k
Summary: Eames had worked countless jobs with Arthur over the years, enough that he had long since picked up on Arthur's on-job habits. Long hours, little sleep, too much work shoved into too little time- that's just what Arthur was like on jobs. The Fischer job felt...different though. Arthur didn't usually start jobs looking this tired or worn down, and his insistence that he was fine didn't usually ring this hollow. It was worrying, and Arthur's increasingly unconvincing reassurances weren't doing much to help.
Everyone in extraction had their limits, even Arthur. And Eames knew he was getting close to seeing what those limits really were.
This is the fic I'm proudest of this year. Not only is it the longest fic I've ever published, but it was also one that had been sitting in my WIPs folder for 2 or 3 years. I really loved the concept but had gotten distracted and never ended up finishing it at the time. I'm actually really glad I waited because I think I'm a stronger writer now, and this fic ended up better for it. It's one of the angstier fics I've written while still having a happy (or at least very hopeful) ending, and I'm really proud of how it ended up turning out
And that's it! Adjusting to my internship work schedule was a process so unfortunately that cut down on the amount of time/brain power I could spend writing, but I'm still super proud of what I put out this (last?) year. To ever increasing skills and another year of good writing!

You mentioned pepa getting her first period when she and Julieta slept in bruno's bed, could you elaborate on it please? I need this story please
Does Pepa want people to know this story? Absolutely not. But let's do it anyway!
Julieta was young when she knew her gift had limitations. It was little things at first, like some people who had asthma, people who had arthritis-chronic and constant pains were above her gift, and it always bothered her. However, it bothered her more so when it involved her sister. Pepa had been FAR less vibrant today, complaining of aches and pains that refused to settle, to the point where the pain really started to form from all the sandwiches Julieta had been making her (she wasn't the supposed to use the stove without her mami watching her, so sandwiches were the next best thing).
"Are you sure you still want to sleep here? If you aren't feeling well, mija-"
"It's FINE! Me and Bruno have been planning this for weeks, I don't wanna miss it!"
Julieta knew that worried look in her mother's eyes. Having 'pain' and 'moodiness' as symptoms weren't a lot to go off of, so she was plenty worried. She sighed as she handed Pepa her favorite pillow, deciding it wasn't worth the arguing.
"Alright. I'm glad Julieta is with you, at least. Julieta, you have emergency snacks in your bag, si?"
"Yes, mamĂ ."
"Good. Now I'll be in my room, don't get TOO loud in here. Just because it's not a school night, doesn't mean you get to be too rambunctious. Understand?"
"Si mamĂ ."
The triplets responded simultaneously. Alma smiled at them, giving a kiss to Julieta, Pepa, and then Bruno. Well, Bruno got a bit more, he always did.
"And BOTH of you take care of little Brunito! Who's my little buñelo?"
It wasn't a secret that their mami loved Bruno the most. The golden child, shy, but otherwise could do absolutely no wrong, especially with a gift as incredible as his. Bruno grinned as he accepted kiss after kiss from her, always loving her attention. Bruno put the 'mama' in mama's boy.
"I'm GUESSING it's me, but you know I could be wrong."
Alma chuckled, giving his cheeks a little squish, before leaving right down Bruno's steps. Pepa rolled her eyes, a gloomy cloud thundering over her head.
"If you're DONE being a bitt kisser, can we get started? I was promised snacks!"
"And snacks we shall have! Trust me, sleepover at casa de Bruno NEVER disappoint!"
Bruno dug into his pile of snacks in his dresser, dumping them on the bed. It was the first time Pepa smiled that day.
"You have chocolates! Gimme-"
"Ah ah ah. Those are for s'mores!"
Did Julieta feel comfortable with the idea of fire? No. Even if Bruno claimed it helped him with his gift, they were BARELY ten years old, way too young to be playing with matches. But since their mother allowed it, Bruno allways had matches on him. He at least was careful, digging a pit around the small fire, in case it needed to be out out quickly with sand. She had to give it to him though, getting all this ready just so they could have a night in together. Bruno handed everyone their marshmallows on a stick, and they sat in comfortable silence around the fire, just for a moment. At least, until Pepa interrupted.
"Bruno you're burning yours."
"Nope! You gotta let it crisp up, else you won't get that fire flavor."
"How are you gonna taste anything if it's burnt?"
"I dunno, how do you wear that outfit if it's a garbage fire?"
She gasped in offense, and Julieta just went ahead and made the s'mores for them as they fought. She was the older sister, it was her job.
"I'M the garbage fire-did you SEE your face?!"
"If my face is that bad, how come mami kisses it more, huh?"
"It's called 'feeling sorry for you', it's like petting a dog with fleas-!"
They didn't get to finish their squabble as Julieta shoved the treats in their mouths, forcing them to silence. Julieta relished in the silence before helping herself to a treat, and nodding at Bruno.
"You said you had a new story, Bruno?"
"Mmph-yeah! I wrote it last week! It's a love story, since I know Pepa likes those!"
Pepa snuggled up on Bruno's bed comfortably, clearly eager to listen. They fought, they bickered, but no one could make a story just like Bruno, and no one could listen quite like Pepa. Bruno finished his treat quickly, and after cracking his knuckles, let his fingers move, casting shadows alongside the wall.
"It started on a dark, stormy night. The air howled like wolves, the rain poured in an endless onslaught..."
Bruno's story continued. He had prepared for this- telling of a man who fell in love with chaos itself. With the embodiment of everything that was an inconvenience, that was annoying, that was never easy. Honestly, even Julieta was enthralled.
"Then what happened?!"
Pepa jumped up a bit, snack wrappers all over the floor. Pepa was even eating more than usual tonight, usually Bruno had the endless belly. Bruno was all smiles now, adoring the attention he was being given.
"Then, as she lay there by his bedside, struck with grief for the only man to love her and all she was, she asked him 'why must you love me? Why can you not love peace or serenity or order?' And he glanced at her, the final beats of his heart pounding with love, and said 'without you, life has no surprises. No four leaf clovers to stumble upon, no bumping into an old friend, no falling into a lake on a hot, hot day. Without chaos, there is no fun'. And then, he-Pepa!!"
Pepa started to just weep. She was practically wailing now, hugging her pillow and the cloud above them just soaking everything around them. The room went dark upon the fire going out, and both of her siblings covered their heads to try to stay dry.
"I'm sorry!! It's just so SAD! Why'd he have to die?!"
"For dramatic affect!"
That made her cry harder, and Julieta immediately hopping into bed with her sister. ALL of their bed had tarps, so this was the only dry spot in the whole room, and maybe even the whole bed, given her tears.
"CĂĄlmate, Pepa, please! Come on, clear skies!"
Bruno joined the bed, shoving the wrappers aside. Pepa would not stop, no matter how much consoling they tried to give her. No matter how many offers of different snacks they had. Honestly, the only thing that made her stop crying, was her falling asleep on her sister's shoulder. It sprinkled by then, but an exhausted Bruno falling asleep on her shoulder seemed to make the cloud disappear. Julieta sighed, gently stroking her sister's hair. She was even MORE emotional than usual today, she WISHED she knew what was wrong. But maybe, they all just needed sleep. Afterall, what could go wrong?
-----------------
Bruno was the first to wake up that night. He didn't know WHY he had to wake up, until he heard the familiar squeak of one of his rats. He groaned as he slowly sat up, eyes scanning the two others in his bed. Right, a sleepover that ended in Pepa just engulfed in tears. She was more emotional than usual for some reason. She even cried during his story, and that wasn't supposed to be that sad. He picked up Alex, scratching his chin.
"Hey. You're hungry, huh? Alright, I have extra snacks in my drawer. Yes, I still have those apple slices you like so much."
Bruno got out of bed, but suddenly stopped. Was he sweating? His clothes felt...sticky. Really sticky. He touched his shirt, and looked at his hand. Bruno's vision sight also let him see better in the dark. Not as great as some animals, but better than most people. But right now, he wished he hadn't had this gift, because he saw blood, right on his hand. It wasn't a LOT of it, but it was there. And when he saw it, he SCREAMED. It alerted Julieta, who jumped up immediately.
"Bruno! What's wrong?!"
"I t-think I'm bleeding!"
Julieta immediately went to turn on the lights, and somehow, Pepa STILL didn't wake up. Bruno covered his mouth with his hand to point at Julieta, her own dress covered in streaks of blood. She looked just as shocked as he was, and immediately took off her dress, digging into Bruno's dresser for a replacement (each of the siblings had an emergency pair of clothes for one another, just in case they needed to get dressed but couldn't make it to their own rooms), and being quick about it. Julieta lifted a finger as he tried to scream again, signaling for him to shut up.
"If you yell, it'll wake up Pepa, we NEED to do this calmly."
How his sister stayed so calm in these sort of situations, he'd never understand. Bruno had to put the non bloody part of his ruana over his mouth to keep him from doing just that. Julieta walked over to Pepa, giving her a shake and urging her awake. Pepa groggily woke up, hair just the biggest mess you've ever seen.
"Mmph...what? I was tired-"
"Are you hurt?"
"No more than usual. I AM aching, though. Why, what's..."
Pepa looked down, then peeled the blanket off of her. Streaks of blood littered Bruno's once clean sheets, and her pajamas. Now in case Bruno has ever questioned who had the lungs in this family, the answer was made very clear. For Pepa opened her mouth, and SCREAMED. Screamed enough for them to cover their ears in pain. Immediately Bruno's door opened to reveal a TERRIFIED looking Alma.
"What's wrong? What happened?!"
Pepa immediately jumped out of bed into her mother's arms, thunder looming over them as Pepa absolutely freaked out.
"I w-woke up, and there's so much blood!"
Bruno watched as Alma immediately turned to Julieta as she embraced Pepa, as if this was her fault.
"You can't heal this?"
"I don't k-know what this IS mamĂ ! None of us do!"
Alma put her hand over her mouth as she studied Bruno's ruined bed. Looked like a massacre, and she knew it. Something flashed in her eyes though, and she looked at Pepa.
"Pepi, lift up your dress for me."
Pepa obeyed despite the confusion, and Bruno took notice of the blood running down her leg. Bruno immediately grabbed onto his mother, terrified.
"Mami? Is she hurt?!"
Alma sighed in clear relief, shaking her head.
"No, mi cielo. She's having her period."
"Like the ones you say YOU get?"
"EXACTLY."
Bruno looked at the bed, brow raised.
"So this is...Pepa's vagina blood?"
"Si."
"...ew ew ew ew we were LAYING IN IT!"
Bruno tossed his shirt aside, feeling goosebumps from how absolutely disgusting this all was. Thunder roared over Pepa as she glared at him from mami's arms.
"Oh sure, I bleed ONCE and we start freaking out, but when YOU pee the bed it's nothing!"
"I had night terrors!"
"You're TEN! You stopped when you were SEVEN, TONTO!"
Pepa looked ready to kill him, and had Alma not grabbed her when she leapt, she might've done just that.
"Everyone RELAX! No name calling! Bruno, be nice to your sister. Pepa, we're giving you a shower. Julieta, change the sheets, you know where the extras are."
Alma walked out of the room with Pepa, and Julieta glared at Bruno.
"Did you have to make her feel gross about it?"
"Make her feel-this blood was inside her!"
"That's where it's SUPPOSED to be, Bruno."
"You KNOW what I meant. How is she even ALIVE, that's a LOT of blood!"
Julieta rolled her eyes as she started to remove the sheets, throwing them in a bin for a later wash. At least Julieta didn't have hers. Yet.
-----------------
She wasn't GROSS. She was suffering. And her stupid hermano clearly didn’t know the difference. She walked with her mother to the bathroom, and tried not to wince at the absolute disaster that used to be her favorite underwear. Her mom started the shower without a word, and Pepa showered without another word. She was happy her mother stayed though. Company with silence was a lot more bearable than lonely silence. She watched the water take away the blood, as well as the storm clouds above. She stepped out of the shower, where Alma immediately started to wipe her face with a towel.
"I know you're scared, mija. This is a big thing for you."
Pepa sat down on a towel as her mother went through her hair. Pepa could do her own hair just fine, but her mother was always better at it. Pepa gently nodded, wincing as she combed through a knot.
"Is that why I haven't been feeling well?"
"Probably. But it's okay. This just means you're growing up. We'll go easy on your chores today, since I know you're probably still in pain."
Pepa watched her reflection in the mirror as her mother made her hair perfectly soft and perfectly brushed. Once they dried, she'd put them up in twin braids, just like she always did.
"I hate Bruno. He made me feel gross."
"You don't mean that, just like he didn't mean to hurt your feelings. We'll have a talk about this during breakfast, tell you all what you need to know."
Pepa said nothing for a moment, and only looked when Alma chuckled.
"Why don't you pick what we have for breakfast today? Whatever you want."
"...I want cookies. And milk. Lots of it."
Alma wanted to scold her, clearly, but said nothing, settling for a sigh.
"Very well. Cookies and milk it is. We'll go to the PanaderĂa, you can get whatever you want. I promise."
Pepa smiled for what felt like the first time today, and it got even better when Alma kissed her forehead, and gave her a proper hug.
"And you aren't gross. You're growing, and you're beautiful. You'll be a wonderful woman, I can see it."
"It's gonna be because of you, mami."
"Aw...mi sol, gracias. Te amo."
"Te amo, mami."
Affection, snacks. Maybe growing up wasn't SO bad.

Every Madrigal has a sort of, side effect, to their gifts.
Camilo has to eat twice as much as normal and sleeps a ton because of all the energy shapeshifting needs. He also has to carry around a picture of himself, since he forgets what he looks like.
Isabela doesn't do well in the dark. She's slow and tired, and while she doesn't need to eat much she does drink a lot more than anyone else.
Dolores gets overstimulated super easy, that much is obvious. After being overstimulated, however, everything goes completely silent. She can't hear anything. Even years after it started happening she still panics.
Julieta can't feel pain. She'll be cooking for hours and come out of it with burns on her hands and wrists, unable to feel it. Her own cooking also doesn't work on her as well as it would someone else. While another person's cut will dissapear completely with her food, if she had the same cut it would simply scab over.
Bruno gets mini visions throughout the day, just small flashes of a possible future or action. He's physically incapable of telling the difference between these mini visions and real life. He'll be going to ask Abuela a question only to see a mini flash or her getting upset and he gets upset in turn, only for it to turn out he still had yet to ask his question. He also has frequent migraines
Pepa is physically incapable of feeling anything mildly. For her emotions it's either all or nothing. She can't feel just a little upset that her favourite dress has a new tear, she's devastated to the point that everything's flooding. She can't be just a bit happy with the gift a family member has painstakingly made her, she's overjoyed to the point the encanto experiences a mini drought.
Luisa doesn't feel tired. Whether it's the fatigue from working/exercising or even just generally feeling tired at the end of a long day, she doesn't feel it. It's resulted in multiple pulled muscles and passing out from lack of sleep.
Antonio has long periods of time where he can't understand anyone but his animals, like the people around him are all speaking in a completely different language.

i have a great idea
What if Madrigal family swapped their gifts for a day
AND NONE OF THEM DON’T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE IT
That would be a great episode if Encanto had a continuing serial
EXAMPLES:
——————
Isabela, having Tia Pepa’s gift: WHY CAN’T I FEEL ANNOYED WITHOUT PEOPLE KNOWING IT?! THEY SEE THAT I HAVE CLOUDS ALL AROUND MY HEAD AND POINT THAT OUT!!! AND THAT ANNOYS ME EVEN MORE!!!!!
——————
Dolores, with Tia Julieta’s gift: I don’t know how to cook.
Julieta, has Luisa’s power: That’s okay dear, first you need to— *tries to grab a plate but breaks it in pieces* oh dear.
——————
Pepa, with Antonio’s power, gossips with animals: No way Camilo did that!- What?— Nooo, he wouldn’t do it,— he’s only 15!!- Wait, what did Bruno said then? Oh mY GOD—
——————
Mirabel, shapeshifter: *mocks Isabela changing into her* LoOk aT Me! I’m sUpEr PuNkY iDeAl GrAnDcHiLd!! WHOMP WHOMP!! *smacks own butt*
Isabela, still tia Pepa’s power: *creates a storm cloud and zaps Mirabel*
——————
Camilo, with Dolores’ gift: *sells secrets and periodically having a panic attacks because of all that noise he can hear now*
——————
Antonio, having a future vision: *prophecies that there will be an explosion of plants and vines*
Bruno, with Isabela’s gift: *fricking MAKES A SUDDEN EXPLOSION OF FLOWERS AND VINES*
——————
Luisa, having Mirabel’s power of being the candle of house: *chillaxes and having a great time of not doing anything for the first time after YEARS*
——————
And Abuela, seeing this kerfuffle: There wasn’t that shit when Pedro was alive *leaves this mess and locks up in her room*

[ Baker's Favourite Customer ]
Camilo x Reader (gender neutral reader)
— when a new bakery puts itself on the map in the Encanto, Camilo decides his plan for the day is to taste every sweet possible before anyone else in town. that is, until he meets the baker behind the delicacy's; soon he realizes maybe the cakes & pastries aren't the sweetest thing in town.
— 🍰 pt. 2 (two)
The scent of fresh fruit, sugar and baked sweats wafted through the air. The new bakery hadn't opened its doors to the Encanto yet, but it would be moments before numerous towns folk would vade the wonderful 'Dulces y Delicias' Panaderia. Already, once Camilo had arrived to the front of the bakery, he had been at the back of a line consisting of four, maybe seven people— and the line only continued to lengthen as many more followed suit.
A window from the second floor of the bakery, where the Panaderia owners reside, was left open to let fresh air into the home. Simultaneously, the sweet aroma of sugar, butter and warmly toasted bread was released out into the public.
As Camilo stood in line, he couldn't help but feel nervous; yet excited. 'You better leave a good impression, Camilo! Those people are new to the Encanto, make them feel welcome.' His mothers voice rang through his head, making his shoulders tense. Normally, he'd be confident— a little too confident in fact. But considering he was only allowed to come to the new Panaderia's opening because he needed a favor; it made him feel anxious.
A mere month ago had La Casa Madrigal fallen apart, then was rebuilt from shambles— everyone and everything had gone to a life of much less stress. Luisa and Isabela had broken away from the fruitless living as if it were second nature. Isabela spent her newly found time tending to a garden in the courtyard she decided to grow organically, from seeds to bloom. Luisa— started her own book collection, consisting of various genres she never knew she was interested in.
But of course, old habits die hard— and Abuela decided a few days after everything and everyone started to heal would be the ideal time to announce the hosting of a festival in the honor of the Encanto, the town; and Bruno.
Bruno was never one to want a large celebration in his honor, considering he had been so humbled throughout childhood; he found it was rather unnecessary once Alma had come to him with the proposal. But that was his mother, he'd been gone for ten long years and he couldn't bring himself to put a stop to her idea. The next thing everyone knew, they've fallen back into old ways. Isabela had just begun the new addition to her garden— clove pink orchids when she was informed of an upcoming festival— that she would be a part of hosting.
Abuela couldn't have had worse timing, and higher expectations. The time gap to have everything prepared? Four days, minimum, which she announced just yesterday, to the entire town. Now, all Madrigals are rushing to get at least 1/3rds of the needed work completed before the two day period.
Really, Camilo's plan for the day was to taste every baked good and sweet in this new Panaderia, then head home to assist his Tia in making over hundreds of Arepas, and side dishes.
But being here under different circumstances really fried his nerves. Greeting the family, striking artless conversation; it's something he's been trained to do and he found it quite easy. The only real possible hiccup here is if the familia behind the bakery shut down his hopes of having their assistance in the festival.
All in all, the demand for over one hundred different baked items to go with Julieta's Arepas and sides is enough to make anyone faint, regardless of culinary background, especially since one cake can equal the amount of time it takes to make a few dozen Arepas.
The more he thought about it, the more Camilo realized maybe his idea wasn't the best idea he's ever had.
He sighs, slouching over himself as he sets a foot out of line, deciding to return home to catch up with his Tia and Antonio, that is, until he hears the jingle of a bell ring through his eardrum. The doors to 'Dulces y Delicias' open, and suddenly the line takes off with him, rushing him into the bakery with the force of a mob.
He pushes his way past the suffocating crowd, taking the form of his sister Dolores in order to simply squeeze past the crowd without much struggle. He trips over himself, whipping back into himself as he rolls to the floor.
Quick to jump to his feet, he pats himself off and fwips* his ruana.
"Oh, dios mĂo! Everyone, por favor, stand in an orderly line and we'll get to you as fast as possible." A sweet looking woman comes out from behind a curtain, which Camilo can only assume leads to upstairs. She seems understandably overwhelmed; her hands clasp together as she watches the many customers crowd over the counter, hollering their orders over each other.
Her attempts at trying to calm the mob go fruitless, as almost no one seems to hear her over their own voices. She retreats into a backroom, and moments later comes back with a taller man who seems to effortlessly radiate authority. Tall and sturdy build, he fixes himself at the front of the counter and lifts his fingers to his mouth; a deafening whistle rips through the cluster— so loud Camilo is sure Dolores is wincing right about now.
The Panaderia goes silent, and the eyes of the man Camilo assumes is the little old woman's husband falls onto him. He visibly straightens out, his slouched stance correcting itself almost instantly. He turns back to the crowd.
"Por favor a todos, make a uniformed and calm line behind this young man." His hand falls onto Camilo. Gracias, we will be with you en un momento. " And just like that, countless people clamor behind Camilo who moves to the front of the counter; the couple's heads into the back room.
"Madrigal! We didn't even notice you were here!" A hardy laugh erupts from the crowd, and Camilo turns to let out a small snicker, which was rather light hearted considering he was almost trampled to death.
'Now I know how Isabela's flowers feel.' He sighs.
"Welcome to Dulces y Delicias Panaderia, I'll be taking your order today, what can I get for you? " Turning back to the front counter, he parts his lips to speak but is taken aback as his eyes meet with someone who looks to be around his age— his height as well if not a little shorter.
"Uh, " The Camilo Madrigal, for the first time ever, was left awestruck. Lips apart and jaw slack, his eyebrows raised and eyes widened if only a little, all he could let out of his chest was a small hesitant interjection.
"Uhm, " Once again.
"I— I uh, " He's forgotten his reason for being here.
The person behind the counter taps their notepad, their head tilting to the side and a confused yet somewhat uncomfy expression adorns their features. There's a congested and awkward silence between the two— along with an awestruck stare that doesn't last long, but definitely seems to when you're on the receiving end of it.
"Sir, your order? " Their pen clicks, which seems to snap Camilo out of his momentary daze.
He coughs, averting eye contact for just a moment as he runs his fingers through his curls. Patting down his ruana, Camilo looks up with his buoyant curls brushed to the side of his face and his signature smug smirk evident on his lips. His eyebrows are raised, eyes half closed and his everyday eyeshadow coming through as the typical heart-throbbing edition to complete his look.
"I— heh, hey. " Camilo doesn't know what he was trying to accomplish in this moment, but whatever it was— it definitely wasn't happening because the sheer look on his Waitron's face told him they weren't amused; not in the slightest.
They let out a sigh.
"Listen, Camilo Madrigal, correcto? " He perks at the mention of his, full, name.
"I, sĂ! "
"Y/n L/n, mucho gusto. " They take his hand into their's, much to Camilo's surprise, they're very forward. Shaking his hand gently, they let go of it a little too soon— making the shapeshifter strangely wish he could've held their hand a second longer.
He blinks the thought from his mind.
"Mi familia and I really appreciate this spot Señora Pepa had picked out for us a while ago. She's your mother, sí? " Camilo nods eagerly.
"Beautiful, wonderful woman." Camilo knows, he could've told you that himself. It takes almost everything within him to resist the urge to tell the Waitron who else could've made such a handsome young man, but he decides against it 'cos he'd rather not embarrass himself in front of such an attractive, stunning individual.
Suddenly, they lean over the counter, closer towards Camilo who becomes attentive to what is happening.
'Are we about to kiss right now? ' No, actually you're not, because Y/n swerves their head to his ear instead.
"She really helped us out, as well as Luisa. We wouldn't have been able to open today if it weren't for them." They whisper, "We wanted to thank them so here, " Moving away abruptly, and unknowingly taking Camilo with them as his body falls in the direction they lean back into; Camilo is against the counter as Y/n picks up a brown paper bag full if home-baked goods.
They hand them to Camilo.
"Courtesy of the L/n familia. And on top of that, one free favor— on the house. It's the least we can do, really. Now, is there anything else you came for? I do have a line out the door. " Pointing behind him, Y/n chuckles— already exhausted, despite only having dealt with Camilo Madrigal so far, or at least that's what they think.
"A favor? "
"Mhm. "
"As in, anything? "
"Depends, what do you tener en mente? "
"Uh, " Camilo taps his fingers, thinking for a moment. Then, he signals Y/n closer with his two fingers. Cautiously, they lean over the counter once more as Camilo whispers into their ear the favor he needs.
Y/n takes a moment to process what he had just said. Over a few hundred different baked items, postres and sweets. Conchas, Buñuelos, Tres Leches cakes, regular cakes, Rosca De Reyes cakes, Cocada, Obela, pies— etcetera etcetera —all need to be ready in time for the upcoming festival.
There's a brief silence, then a small laugh. Y/n snickers, not believing a single word Camilo had just whispered into their ear.
"You're pretty funny, Madrigal. Ever think about trying stand-up comedy? You're a natural. " They smile at him, sending a friendly nudge his way.
"Yeah, ha ha.. " His hand finds it's way to the nape of his neck. He looks Y/n in the eyes, almost apologetically as he nibbles on the inner skin of his bottom lip.
Y/n chuckles one last time before they realize exactly how serious Camilo is taking this "joke." Their expression drops, and they examine him for a moment. No laughing, so positive body language, not even the slightest hint of a smile. As the sudden reality sets in— that Camilo wasn't joking (which Y/n had heard was his schtick) an expression of absolute horror and anxiety twists their features, their lips part, but only barely.
"You're— you're not joking, are you? "

AgustĂn is struggling with his family in BogotĂĄ. After his mother's death a few years prior, he's left with his emotionally distant father, who was always there but never really there, a few older cousins who had fallen into his parents' custody and stuck around, and a much older sister he never really knew, who was always kind to him, wrote to him now and then, but lived too far away to contact.
He's an avid reader, and was enamored as a kid with being an explorer. So he packs his things, and without much resistance, leaves his family for long periods at a time exploring. He always came back, though, when he was back in BogotĂĄ, to stay at his old house. He was never received very well. The only people he really comes back for are his friends from school.
He's exploring mountains one day with a hiking group he joined on a whim. The leader of the group tells them about the myth of a magical town located between the mountain ranges, deep in the forests, and it's never been seen before.
AgustĂn is skeptical, but he likes a good story. He's distracted by something or other and is separated from the group. He decides it'd be a good idea to cut through the forest to find the group, saves time, right? Wrong. He loses his foothold and tumbles down through the forest... down the mountain range, finds his footing again, and then gets himself back into trouble. The cycle repeats until he reaches the ground and collapses.
A group of well meaning citizens bring him to the Casa Madrigal, where he's set up in the nursery on a cot. Alma examines the situation and strictly prohibits Julieta from treating him. She insists the children and townsfolk mention nothing of the magic to him, as he's an outsider, and this poor man with several broken bones is somehow dangerous to them.
Julieta argues-- he'll die if she doesn't help him. Alma tells her they'll assess the situation again when he wakes up, call the town doctor, and find a way to get him back to where he came from.
After a bit of pacing and stressing, Bruno convinces a torn Julieta to trust her gut. She makes a very basic broth soup and wakes up her patient with a cool rag.
He is startled, and in pain, and convinced that he is dead. In his small satchel of things there is a spare pair of glasses-- his last pair was lost somewhere in the fall-- but he can't quite put the words together to ask the nice lady to get them. He also can't really see her. She insists that he eats whatever it is she's put in front of him, that he also can't see, and he is once again floored when the pain slowly fades.
Alma is angry, but not to the point that she scolds Julieta or forbids her from seeing him or anything. They send AgustĂn on his way, and to their surprise, he settles down in the town.
AgustĂn visits Julieta at her stand in the town square every. single. day. Whether he has a reason or not, he's there. Sometimes he insists on helping her. Eventually, it gets to the point where Julieta is going out of her way to go see him. Alma notices Julieta's sudden distraction from her work and starts to suspect something is going on.
One time, Julieta is handing out food at a festival at night. After much convincing, AgustĂn manages to get her to abandon her post for a dance.
Julieta doesn't dance-- but she knows this man, he's sprained his ankle in ways she didn't know possible. At least if she looks stupid, they'll look stupid together.
Wrong. AgustĂn is, remarkably, an incredible dancer, and she's struggling to keep up. Stepping on his feet, staring at the ground, she's just lost. He advises her to let loose and shake it off and she takes his advice. She steps back, takes off her apron and the tie in her hair, and leaves them at her stand.
Alma finds her abandoned stand and gets angry, but before she can scold Julieta, she spots her having fun. And dancing with the city boy. But she's having fun, and she has that same look in her eye that Alma remembers once having herself, so she gives up the fight. As well as any contacts she had in trying to find Julieta a husband herself.
And Alma eventually warms up to AgustĂn, enough to give him her blessing, because, she supposes, Julieta's happiness is more important than finding her the perfect husband. And in any case, he really does love her daughter.

When all you want is to sleep comfortably,
A/N: apologies for disappearing for so long but I had a lot to do for college. I'll try to start posting again but I can't make too many promises.
Phases
"Goodnight mi flor," Julieta whispered kissing Isabela's head.
Once julieta left, Isabela tossed and turned in her bed, trying to get comfortable but unfortunately she got wrapped up in her loose nightgown.
She groaned before she sat up and yanked the pink fabric over her head and tossed it to the floor by her bed. As soft as it was it was too loose and kept getting tangled around Isabela. Mere moments after the annoying fabric had landed on the floor the eldest madrigal had fallen into a deep sleep.
Down the hall Dolores was getting ready for bed when her mother came in to check on her and tell her goodnight.
"Mi bebé, I came to say goodnight," Pepa said stepping into Dolores's room.
"Mama?" Dolores said emerging from her closet.
"I'm right here lola, come sit," Pepa said patting the 12 year olds bed.
"can I ask something?" Dolores asked sitting on her bed.
"ask away mi vida," Pepa said
"it's nearly my time, and I was curious about a few things I've been feeling," Dolores said shyly, still unfamiliar with her cycle despite having it for almost a year.
Pepa assured her that having questions was normal and answered them, remembering how she had to go digging for this knowledge on her own.
"Its perfectly normal to get cramps in your thighs from your period, trust me tia Julieta said it herself," Pepa assured tucking her eldest into bed.
"Ok mamĂĄ goodnight," Dolores yawned curling into her blankets.
Pepa kissed her niña's head, and closed her door with a light click. Before Dolores truly settled in she peeled the yellow fabric of her nightgown off and then snuggled into her blankets clutching her fluffy owl to her bare chest. The feeling was odd since she had never slept without a nightgown before. Dolores enjoyed the feeling and curled into her blanket and fell asleep within minutes
The next morning Pepa was in charge of waking up the kids. Camilo and Mirabel had a sleepover in Camilo's room so Pepa gave a knock, then stepped in to get the pair woken up and dressed. Once she'd sent them down to Julieta she made her next stop at Luisa's room. She opened the door and gently patted Luisa's hip until said girl had finally opened her eyes, "buenos dias tia," she sleepily mumbled reaching out to hug Pepa.
Luisa was always her favourite to wake, because Luisa loved cuddles in the morning so she could have a moment to spend with her sobrina wrapped up in happy cuddles.
"Buenos dias mi sobrinita, I need to wake the other girls, get dressed and I'll be back to do your hair," Pepa said sitting Luisa down on the short stool by her dressing table. Believe it or not, Luisa is light for her age, even with her gift. And she takes full advantage of her light build. She loves when Julieta lifts her onto the counter to sit while she makes arepas, or when Agustin gives her piggyback rides. She especially loves when Pepa wakes her up and carries her around her room for a little while while they cuddle, and sometimes if Pepa hasn't dressed, she'll help Pepa pick an outfit, all while Pepa holds onto her in a soft warm cuddle.
"Ok tia," Luisa yawned in the affirmative, and Pepa left to go wake the eldest two.
She started with Isabela, since she was right beside Lu.
A knock at the door proved that Isabela was definitely her mother's daughter sleeping like a rock until she either got up on her own or was forced awake by someone else.
With that Pepa opened the door to Isabela's room. She walked towards the bed and isabela had shifted in her sleep tossing the cover off herself. Usually Pepa wouldn't be surprised by this but when the blanket was thrown away from Isabela all she saw was skin. No nightgown, no camisole. Just Isabela's bare chest, which wasn't a big deal since it was Pepa waking her this morning, but what if it had been tio Felix, or her father. None the less she woke Isabela up, and Isa immediately pulled her sheet to her chest as her cheeks flushed in embarrassment. Isabela didn't say a word at first, but she didn't have to because Pepa was the one to break the silence.
"Isa, there's nothing to be embarrassed over, trust me. It's just something of a phase you go through, I will say, you got lucky this morning since it was me, but be careful when you sleep like this ok," Pepa said reassuring Isa that sleeping in her underwear or fully nude was normal, just to be careful and choose when she slept like this wisely.
"You get dressed, I'm going to wake up Lola," Pepa told noticing that roses bloomed on Isabela's chest for her to hide in until she had an actual top or dress on.
"Ok tia," Isabela said as Pepa left her room.
She took the short walk to Dolores's room and gently opened the door. Her daughter was wearing her head wrap and was sleeping soundly. Her blanket was thrown off her top half much like Isabela, but she was sleeping on her stomach so her chest was pressed into her mattress.
"Lola," Pepa said quietly as she coaxed Dolores to wake up.
"Buenos dias mama" Dolores said as she reached to her right to grasp Pepa's hand and give it a squeeze, a little habit she has picked up as a child.
"Buenos dias mi niña, sleep well?" Pepa asked trying to brace the subject of her sleepwear, or lack thereof.
"I slept well mama," Dolores said sitting up, she pulled the yellow nightgown discarded the night before over her head as she pushed her head wrap up to uncover her eyes.
"Seems you did, is this the first time you've done this or just the first time I caught you," Pepa asked being a bit more straightforward since Dolores had no shame or embarassment about her body. Yet.
"First time I did it, it felt weird, but in a good way," Dolores said stretching.
"Well, little piece of advice, be careful of when you do that, you got lucky since it was my turn to wake you this morning" Pepa said
"Ok mama, I'll make sure," Dolores said crawling out of her blankets to sit on the side of her bed.
"Alright, come down for breakfast when you're dressed," Pepa said giving Dolores a light hug.
She returned to Luisa and fixed her hair with a warm smile on her face, her thoughts racing with a desperate need to talk to Julieta. Once Luisa's hair was done, she and Pepa made their way downstairs.
Luisa was soon scooping Isabela, Dolores, Camilo, and Mirabel up from the living room to take them outside to play. Thankfully giving Pepa enough time alone to talk to Julieta, but not before a coffee.
"What's wrong mi hermana? I know you've got something on your mind," Julieta asked stirring together some cinnamon and sugar to sprinkle over the apples she'd just cut.
"Isa and Lola are going through that phase," Pepa grimaced
"Which one? We have a whole alphabet of teenage phases," Julieta said refilling Pepa's coffee mug.
"Let me put it this way, their sleepwear has changed," Pepa grimaced
"Ooh, that phase," Julieta sighed, "should we talk to them? I mean we went through the dormido desnudo phase when we were their age," Julieta reasoned pulling warm arepas off her cooktop.
"I know, but what do we tell them, if we tell them its wrong then they'll get the wrong idea of it and think its bad, its perfectly normal, but if we tell them that then they'll still do it, and we won't know when they do it, and that could lead to some awkward conversations or incidents." Pepa told weighing their options.
"I've got an idea," Julieta said
In the garden Luisa Isabela Camilo Mirabel and Dolores were kicking a ball around, when Dolores quirked her ear and said
"Cmon Isa Tia's calling us in," Dolores grabbed her older prima's wrist and ran inside with her, she had no idea why she grabbed her wrist but she did. Plus it was funny to hear isa yelling to slow down behind her
"You called?" Dolores said once the two were in the kitchen with Julieta and Pepa,
"Si, now its come to my attention that the pair of you are sleeping without your nightgowns?" Julieta asked
Both girls looked at each other and then back to Julieta embarrassed to admit their secret.
Julieta took that as a yes, and continued
"It's perfectly normal to experiment with sleeping desnudo, Pepa and I did it when we were your age. But to keep any awkward situations from happening, after breakfast Pepa and I will show you how to make a sign for your doors, that way in the morning, whoever has to wake you up will know to let Pepa or myself wake you." Julieta told to the blushing girls
"Can we make them now while the others are outside?" Dolores piped up
"Si mi nina, I'll go get everything you two will need, go ahead and sit," Pepa said going upstairs to grab her art supplies.
When Pepa returns with pens paper and string, she shows Dolores and Isabela what to do and leaves them to make their own designs. At Least now Pepa wouldn't be shocked to walk into one of their rooms and see an excess of skin
"Thank goodness mamĂĄ doesn't wake the kids, Isa would die if she did, and I truly dont like that isa has to uphold a perfect persona all the time when mama is around her," Julieta sighed continuing making breakfast
"I know, maybe we should let her sleep in one day when we know mama will be busy and give her a day to be herself, " pepa suggested
"You're a genius Pepa. We can do that probably tomorrow, mama has some plans with her amigas. We can keep the kids at home and make a day of it," Julieta said as she turned the sausages over
About a year later Luisa had her own sign to hang having also been caught, by Isabela.
"Look Julieta, Isa's showing Lu how to make the little door sign I showed her how to make," Pepa said as a small rainbow sprouted above her head at her nieces' interaction.
"It's good to see her talking to Lu and Mira, mama has her drawn so tight it's rare these days," Julieta said peeking out from behind her book. "Especially now since mama has her yanked tighter than ever with the perfect persona. I really hate that she had to stop wearing her favorite blue dresses in favor of more elegant pink ones to show her maturity"
Pepa agreed and continued smiling over her sobrinas.
Mirabel didn't quite get the chance to go through this phase at the same age her sisters did, due to Antonio being in the nursery with her. But when casita was rebuilt and she finally got her own room she was caught, her nightgown tossed to the chair and her chest against a pillow as she slept soundly.
"Mira, wake up," Julieta said.
The 16 year old slowly woke but once he brain had caught up she yanked her blanket to her chest.
"Mama! I-I" Mira studdered trying to explain
"Mi bebé, calm down, it's nothing to be ashamed about. All the girls went through it, even me and your Tia Pepa," Julieta told handing Mirabel her gown.
"Really?" Mirabel asked
"Yes really. You wouldn't believe how many times I caught both your sisters sleeping on their backs with their chests in the air. And honestly, I don't blame them. Sometimes sleeping nude is a nice change of pace" Julieta said. "After breakfast, ask Isa to show you how to make the sign for your door, she showed Lu about four years ago."
Mira smiled and straightened her gown before heading downstairs.
"it's about time you danced on the wild side. Come on we can all make new ones together, mine just broke and Luisa and Lola's are on the verge of breaking" Julieta heard her eldest say.
Things changed after the fall of Casita, and Julieta has to say seeing her daughters act like sisters again is the best change of them all.

So I'm sooo in love with the part with their first face-to-face meeting, where he just stares at her for a few seconds then walks past her like "bye". I know it's mostly supposed to be that he's awkward 'cause he's unsocialized from not having been around people for so many years, but I like headcanons or AUs that he'd looked into the future and saw himself, uh, WITH Mirabel and was like "aw hell no" So when she shows up in front of him he's like "holy crap she's gorgeous WAIT that's fucked up i gotta get out of here"
Yes!! THANK YOU! It's one of my favorite moments too, and I'm on the same page as you. So now I will subject you to an AU that has been sitting in my drafts that is related to this:
AU where (ace-spec) Bruno had a vision about Mirabel before she was born. It probably happened in his early 20s, after Julieta and Pepa had found their partners. And Bruno, feeling the pressure to get married as the only male Madrigal AND never having any interest in anyone even when he forces himself to try, decides to finally look into his future to see if he will ever end up with someone or if he is truly broken. So he looks into the future, and he sees a woman surrounded by butterflies, smiling and offering her hand to him. Bruno doesn’t recognize her as anyone from the town, but outsiders stumble upon Encanto periodically, so he clings to this vision and puts all his hopes that this woman will appear to him. For better or for worse, his visions have never been wrong before.
When Mirabel is born, he doesn’t put it together because why would he? He doesn’t put it together as she grows and begins to resemble the woman she will become. No, Bruno doesn’t put it together until that fateful night when the Madrigal matriarch asks him to look into the future regarding Mirabel and the miracle. His blood runs cold as the vision forms, and he stops it prematurely, more horrified by the initial appearance of Mirabel than the cracks spreading around Casa Madrigal behind her. All at once, he realizes that she is the woman in that vision from so many years ago, the woman who he would often look at when he was alone and sobbing in his tower, wishing he had someone who would take the time to understand him, listen to him, console him.
After years of beginning to believe she would never come, she appears to him again. This woman—Mirabel, his sobrina. Not only does Bruno fear what his mother will do to Mirabel if she sees this most recent vision, Bruno is terrified of what will happen if Bruno is near Mirabel once she is grown-up. So he does the only thing he can think of. He shatters the latter prophecy but can’t help but bring the first prophecy with him as his takes his leave into the walls. Deep down, he knows to keep Mirabel completely safe from the first prophecy, he should fully leave the house and the Encanto, but for whatever reason, he can’t bring himself to do it. Instead, he lives as quietly as he can in the walls, pretending that the technical physical proximity of his family will be enough for him. And he figures that he could always leave once Mirabel grows up, long enough for her to get married to someone else. Maybe then he could return to his family.
But of course, the cracks start to form, and Bruno realizes that to keep the family safe and to protect Mirabel from whatever fate he saw so many years ago on the night of her failed ceremony, he needs to at least try and patch up the cracks as they appear. This gives him an obligation to stay, but it all falls apart when Mirabel starts trying to figure out how to save the family miracle. It inevitably leads Bruno to that fateful moment in which Bruno sees his sobrina for the first time in over a decade.
And in that moment, after they both just risked their own lives to save the other, Bruno actually looks at his sobrina and thinks, “mierda.” Because she is beautiful, and she’s looking at him with such kind and concerned eyes, and it’s confusing to him because she is without a doubt that woman in that vision he had decades ago who he staked every hope in, but she is also certainly his sobrina. In this moment it occurs to him that neither of them really know each other as tío y sobrina, and Bruno is forced to face the fact that hiding in the walls might have been the worst choice he could have possibly made to prevent him and Mirabel from falling in love. But it’s too late, so now he’s going to have to try and get her away from him as quick as possible.
And as we all know, he fails miserably at that.

Who wants to see my Encanto headcanons? No one? Fantastic, here we go.
1) While he was hiding Bruno would leave gifts for his familia. They were mostly little notes of affection and encouragement, his handwriting disguised enough that no one would make the connection, but he didn’t miss a single birthday. He would take the time to make little gifts for everyone, small enough to go unnoticed or at least unremarked upon. Mirabel would find little scraps of pretty fabric and new needles every year that she didn’t remember buying. Isabella had a collection of flowers made from wood or wire or paper. Once, when she turned 18, she found a piece of scrap wood with a hand-painted bouquet. Pepa once found a bracelet that Bruno had made from beads he’d collected from her favorite dresses, which he fished from the garbage one by one after they had been ruined in her storms. She never wore it, as it didn’t match any of her existing outfits and was actually a little ugly, but she couldn’t bring herself to throw it away, either. It lived in her jewelry box, and she would sometimes wonder why the little beads seemed so familiar. Dolores kept everything he ever gave her, hidden in a box tucked into a special space under a floorboards under her bed that Casita made just for that purpose.
2) One of Bruno’s biggest regrets from his time in the walls, aside from the obvious, was that he hadn’t managed to save his dinner plate. He’d waited for a week for everything to calm down enough that he could sneak out at night and take it, but by the time he got to the cupboard it was gone. He thought it had been thrown out, like almost everything else related to him. Actually, Alma had saved it, storing it away in the dusty trunk where she kept Pedro’s things.
3) When the triplets were teenagers Pepa tried to learn the guitar. It was a phase that didn’t last long; she would get annoyed by her slow progress and rain on her sheet music. Bruno, though, was a natural, and after a while he worked up the courage to ask Pepa if he could keep the guitar. She agreed, saying that he had always put it to better use than she did, and it was one of the few non-essentials that he took with him into the wall, even though he couldn’t play it for risk of being discovered.
4) Speaking of the young triplets, there was a period of time when the triplets were about fourteen that Bruno’s popularity among their peers skyrocketed. He was flirted with, even asked out on a few dates by some of the more daring young women, and some of his classmates would try to hang around him. At first he had been confused, then quietly thrilled that it seemed his reputation wasn’t as bad as he had thought. Then Julieta overheard those same people talking about hanging out with him in the same breath that they would mention stealing from their parents’ liquor supply. When Bruno found out that he was just one more way to rebel, that none of them actually wanted to have him as a friend, he was crushed. After that he stopped talking to anyone who wasn’t family or who his mother didn’t make him give a prophecy to.
5) For years after her unsuccessful gift ceremony Mirabel was terrified of touching her family’s doors, afraid that she would make them disappear just like she had her own.
6) When he was younger, Bruno was terrible at keeping secrets. He’d feel it building up in the back of his throat, burning hotter and hotter until he just blurted out whatever was on his mind. He was well into his twenties before he finally got a handle on his secrets, which he learned to whisper to the rats. By then, the damage had been done. Dolores learned from him. When the secrets she learned got to be too much, she would whisper them to her stuffed animals and, later, to the walls where Bruno was hiding. He would then tell the rats, and no one found out, until Antonio got his gift. Luckily, Antonio is much better with secrets than his tío and hermana.
7) The haircare routine in the Madrigal household is INSANE. Casita has expanded its bigger-on-the-inside magics to the bathroom cabinets because there are So. Many. Products. You have every kind of hair in that house, from Agustín “One-Rinse” Madrigal to Dolores, who takes almost an hour to complete her full routine (which doesn’t happen every day, obviously).
8) Bruno’s actual Gift is indestructible joints. The man spent 40 years climbing god knows how many steps and his knees are still good enough for wall parkour. He slept in a hammock every night for 45 years with NO back issues. Being able to see the future didn’t turn out so well so the candle gave him the world’s most durable skeletal system as compensation.
9) Alma’s greatest fear is intimacy. She is terrified of letting anyone get close to her because she doesn’t know how to handle the pain of losing them. This manifests in her taking up the role of authoritarian with her family and the Encanto as a whole. The scene at the river was the first time she’d actually hugged someone in years, instead of just patting her grandchildren gingerly on the head until they learned to keep their distance.
10) Dolores’ room isn’t soundproofed, not exactly. It’s an idyllic scene with a brook, a forest, a field of grass, and a hill right in the middle with her bed on top. It would be completely silent to anyone else who enters, but for her it would be all of her favorite sounds at the perfect volume for her to listen to and not get overwhelmed. The wind in the branches and through the tall grass, the babbling of the brook, birds chirping, windchimes, someone with a comforting voice singing just out of sight, a guitar. There’s a window that she can open to the outside of Casita, so she can listen in as she chooses. The noises from the window are just as loud as everything she hears during the day, but she can focus better through the window, only hearing specific people or things. This is how she listens to Mariano writing his poetry.

Note
Hey just curious, could you write julieta reacting to each of her daughters first periods? I think it would be so wholesome and cute 😍
Ohhh I've read it before !
Sure,why not?
Julieta
Isabela!
Isabela is the first child and so I imagine she would be more independent in her ways and the way she copes with such things
She would tell her mamĂĄ proudly
Julieta has already had the talk with her eldest and has shown her the ropes!
Anxious!Julieta is really showing 👀
She would ask constantly if her daughter is in pain or anything she would make soothing tea
She would make the bed, bring pillows
Always placing pillows on the ground if she ever wanted to sit on the floor! (If sit on a cold, hard surface causes belliache
Isabella would sometimes say "mamĂĄ,it's alright I can take care of it myself I'm grown!" Or reassure her mother that she can look after herself
Julieta would give a sad smile and kiss her daughters head
She would also knit socks in winter so that Isabela won't suffer from cold feet
She would feed Isabela until the girl sits up in a her position, proudly admitting that she can pass this new test!
Luisa
After surface pressure and her complaining to alma I see Luisa as the person who would be scared at the blood
Julieta would hug the little Luisa and give her,her favorite stuffed animal (donkey!!) And kiss her hair
She would mumble "it's alright mi cariñosa..."and hug her
She would make her favorite food and of course the most nutritious and beneficial
She would reassure that loosing more than enough blood it's healthy and shouldn't be afraid of that
When Luisa would wake up at night because of period pain she would knock gently on the couple's door
"MamĂŹ,it hurts" Luisa would stroke her eye a couple of tears covering her face
Julieta would place Luisa on the bed and make warm milk in the kitchen
The cook would ask frequently if her little gymnast is alright or if she can wait a little
After the milk,Julieta would play with the girls hands humming a song while tracing all of her fingers
Mirabel:
She would smile and look at her little mariposa in adoration
She would prepare a pack of the essentials to use on the first time and a small one to carry in her bag
She would ask if there is any pain, weird symptoms,if she is scared etc.
She would help her get to bed, give her pillows, make her favorite warm dish
She would sleep in Mirabel's bed, trying to read her a story of those she likes and stroke a few strands
She would make mirabel orange juice first thing in the morning(plenty of it) and encourage her to drink all of it
As I hc that Mirabel becomes a little pale,on her first time she woke up pretty pale when visited her mother
"Mi Vida, you okay? You are pale!" Julieta would look around her features, examine her closely, then clap to Casita "Casita a chair please !" And sit Mirabel down
To all of them(first time/after the first):
Julieta would tear up,at the though that her girls are growing up
"Querida, you are a woman now!" And then hug them
Keeps truck of their periods definately! In her very own calendar
Anxiety is the worst so julieta and the girls have talked about it since they were 9 years old
She would make their beds, make favorite healthy dishes
Would stop by frequently to ask if feeling dissatisfied, nausea etc.
Make double assist kit for next time!
Sleep with them, sometimes she would let them sleep between her and AgustĂn
She would let AgustĂn play a song or two on his piano in their bedroom
If the pain was too much she would sing to them, cuddle them, tap their back etc.
And of course always prepare them for their periods so that they prevent doing something that would escalate any kind of pain,or speak to them about symptoms a week before
She would mumble to AgustĂn about the growing up too fast,or that they will finally stray away from her and will no longer want their mamĂĄ's help
"Amor, you don't have to worry! the girls love you and will ALWAYS cherish you!everything will be fine..."then give her reassuring forehead kiss
She treats her kids no different, she makes sure everything is prepared and always writes down everything about her girls ! Keeps photos about every event or just mentions it !
Hope you enjoyed !!

Encanto Headcanons Part 3
When Isabela and Dolores were teenagers, they always made up little rhymes and songs to roast people (think similar to the "Funky Junky Hat" rhyme from Wizards of Waverly Place).
Mirabel and Camilo do the same thing. They steal some of Isabela's and Dolores' rhymes and make up their own.
When Pepa was a toddler, she would fall asleep in the tightest spaces imaginable. She would often be found sleeping either under her bed or inside a dresser drawer.
Agustin and Felix were always massive marshmallows when it came to disciplining the kids. Julieta and Pepa had to help them step up quite a lot during their earlier parenting years.
Isabela and Dolores would pretend to breastfeed their dolls after seeing Julieta breastfeed Luisa.
Luisa would do the same thing after seeing Julieta breastfeed Mirabel and Pepa breastfeed Camilo.
Pepa, Bruno, Luisa, Camilo, and Mirabel are extremely prone to napping. They would often nap in the most random parts of Casita, often two or three of them together. But most often, all five of them would nap together.
Pepa has gone several days at a time without washing her hair because of how thick and curly it is, and no amount of conditioner can help tame the mane.
She has taken whiffs of her own hair during those periods. She describes it as one of the worst things she's ever smelled.
All three triplets approach physical affection differently. Bruno doesn't like being touched, especially unexpectedly, Julieta likes hugs an average amount, and Pepa needs hugs all the time or she'll go on a rampage.
Julieta and Bruno were really shy babies and toddlers, but Pepa was extremely friendly at that time. She would wave to everyone as a baby and would say hello to everyone once she learned how to talk.
This drastically changed (with the girls) after the triplets' gift ceremony. Julieta started talking a little more after other kids knew she could heal anything, and Pepa got quieter after other kids constantly teased her about her gift and being forced to repress her emotions. She gained most of her confidence back after taking dance. Bruno was the only one that didn't really change because he was also teased about his gift.
While Camilo's more of a performer type, he's not afraid to try new areas of theater arts. He's known in the Encanto for being a great director and playwright (even writing and directing plays for the village kids to put on every summer), and always asks Bruno for advice to strengthen both skills.
Pepa taught Camilo how to tap dance. She also taught Isabela and Mirabel, but Camilo was the one most interested in continuing.
Camilo's habit of stealing food started when he first started eating solid foods. He would often be caught throughout the day raiding through the kitchen stealing an arepa from Julieta's spare stash.
Antonio started to get in the habit of stealing food as early as toddlerhood because he would watch his brother do it. Julieta once caught two-year-old Antonio climbing on a counter to get a spare arepa and thought it was Camilo at first, only to realize he's not that little anymore and realize it was Antonio.
Mirabel has a knack for memorizing little trivia facts. In a Modern AU, she could tell someone what pieces of media (movies, books, TV shows, etc.) were released the year they were born.
