SUR PLACE OU À EMPORTER

Anna Maisonneuve / Pierre Seinturier Indoor - D. R.

Defined as the most contemporary hotel in the Rive Gauche, Le Cinq Codet is a design hotel in Paris where I stayed during the last Paris Design Week + Maison et Objet 2017.
It is located between the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides, one of the most touristic areas in Paris, but in a small alley where you are far from the crowd and feel like in a very quiet corner of Paris.
The uniqueness of this place is clear already from its facade. Indeed, Le Cinq Codet is located in a former telephone exchange dating from the 1930s and with its metal and glass façade stands out from all the Haussmann buildings which characterize this area between the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides.
::

 Le Cinq Codet | the interior design
[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
The interiors of this new design hotel in Paris were designed by interior architect Jean-Philippe Nuel , the creator of some of the most interesting hotel interiors in Paris.
Recently Paris is really having a great moment with the development of several interesting indipendent design and boutique hotels, distinguished by an original concept design and a great attention to detail.
Le Cinq Codet interior is inspired both by the rationalist architecture of the bulding and by the Rive Gauche artistic mood. Indeed, the style is masculine, with a prevalence of geometric and clean lines, softened by art references that makes it feel like a collector’s loft. A great attention towards contemporary design is clear in every corner, starting from the lobby entrance, where you can already find a mix of interesting design pieces of modern brands.
::

[symple_spacing size=”30″]
Le Cinq Codet has 67 guestrooms and suites, all designed by Jean-Philippe Nuel with and amazing attention towards architecture and details.
The first thing you notice when entering the rooms is their brightness, thanks to the 30s original facade in glass and steel that was preserved and enhanced by the interior layout. The rooms interior play with different volume which are all connected by the same pale oak wood finish, creating different settings, mezzanines, hidden closets and partitions. Oak and glass match well because they are opposite materials, and a similar choice was done for the other finishes as well, inclusing Corian, flax composite, faultless leather, stainless steel and nautical striped fabrics by Paul Smith.
The graphic identity of the building inspires the interior decor, which is very clean and complemented with high-tech smart solutions to make your stay here the most comfortable as it may be. Switches, screens, remote controles are all part of the design itself, making it clear how deep is the detail design at Le Cinq Codet.
::

Another really unique space is the bar/restaurant area on the ground floor, which opens to a private patio (one is set up with tables and chairs, while the second one is as an outdoor spa!). Also here, masculine and geometric style, with a prevalence of oak and dark steel, and many inspiring contemporary design details.
I’ll leave to your imagination how the breakfast here look like ^_^
::

[symple_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20″ margin_bottom=”20″]
Le Cinq Codet is also a creative destination which hosts several art installations and creative happenings.
During the last Paris Design Week and till 22nd October here you can find the SUPER GREEN exhibit: curated by Studio Marant, it is a sensorial path in the nature throught some carefully selected art and design pieces.
::
