The Library of Unread Books is open every day from 10 am to 7 pm and is now currently located on the ground floor of International Plaza, a building next to Tanjong Pagar. If you have any books that you’ve bought but have not read (and don’t wish to read), please bring them to us and someone else will read them for you. It’s a wonderful way to absolve your guilt. A contemporary public confessional booth approved by the Vatican. Come and take part in this socialist project of transforming private property into a public commons. #TheLibraryOfUnreadBooks #Bookstagram #HemanChong #ReneeStaal #SingaporeBiennale2022 #SingaporeBiennale #Singapore #LibrariesOfInstagram #TheGirlWhoKickedTheHornetsNest #StiegLarsson #10000YearsOfArt #bookstagram #book #books #booksbooksbooks #ilovebooks #bookstagrammer #readmorebooks #allthebooks #booksofig #booksofthemonth #bookstack #booksonbooks #library #libraries #librariestransform #librariesoftheworld (at The Library of Unread Books) https://www.instagram.com/p/ClVWczQLDm7/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Art is best explored with new friends from Singapore’s arts scene! I had an enjoyable and insightful evening visiting S.E.A. Focus 2020 - a showcase of contemporary art from Southeast Asia – with Singapore’s Cultural Medallion recipients, Mr Ong Kim Seng and Ms Amanda Heng. S.E.A. Focus featured 20 leading galleries from Singapore and around the world, and we were treated to a stellar line-up of works by 38 artists based in or connected to Southeast Asia. It was interesting to hear the perspectives of Mr Ong and Ms Heng, and also to meet with younger artists such as Yanyun Chen and Ben Loong, whose works were on display in S.E.A. Focus. Many thanks to STPI – Creative Workshop and Gallery for putting together this selection of artists and galleries! #SEAFocus2020 #SGArtweek #GillmanBarracks #gbartafterdark #SingaporeBiennale (at Gillman Barracks) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7iUxVrnOK4/?igshid=ll234g4z4snc

An Atlas of Mirrors for Singapore Biennale 2016
It’s the closing weekend of Singapore Biennale 2016 exhibition “An Atlas of Mirrors” at Singapore Art Museum. To celebrate its highly successful run, free admission is provided to allow the general public to catch the exhibits before it closes on 26 February 2017. The Local People has also collaborated with the museum to setup a flea market featuring locally-made goods, food and beverages.
Here’s a quick look at the closing weekend for “An Atlas of Mirrors” at Singapore Art Museum:

Species of spaces and other pieces is a book that I’ve read many times but it somehow found it’s way into The Library of Unread Books. #repost @singaporeartmuseum ・・・ If you’re fascinated by sounds around you, you’re not alone because Thai artist Arnont Nongyao’s interest lies in sound too – specifically vibrations. Look forward to his immersive presentation this Singapore Biennale 2019 as you enter a space surrounded by the various unique sounds and vibrations of socio-cultural interactions found in the local markets of northern Thailand 🎶 Meet the #ArtistsOfSB2019 I #SingaporeBiennale (at Singapore Art Museum) https://www.instagram.com/p/B2xncXrjqLe/?igshid=1ms2d43xhdq1g

"Children of the Sun" by Khoo Sui Hoe, an American based artist & one of Malaysia's foremost figurative artist. Composed of a very simple, symbolic elements. "A sun, a plant like a tree spreads out both ways & little leaves." The painting is commissioned in 1965 for the opening of Singapore Conference Hall by Datuk Seri Lim Chong Keat, the building architect. #artoninstagram #figurativeart #figurativepainting #singaporebiennale #khoosuihoe #limchongkeat #childrenofthesun #artmeetsarchitecture #pioneersg https://www.instagram.com/p/B83qjDnh1Xk/?igshid=vcyab4gy9qhg

Had an enjoyable, art-filled afternoon exploring the Singapore Biennale 2019 exhibition at Gillman Barracks. Titled ‘Every Step in the Right Direction’, this edition of the international contemporary art exhibition is a meaningful invitation to all to think about the issues facing the world today and to take action towards positive change. An interesting obstacle course installation by Singaporean artist Nabilah Nordin was inspired by the idea of failure. With no set rules, her work seeks to encourage us to open ourselves to experiencing the many different routes and possibilities in life. There are over 150 artworks to explore at 11 venues across Singapore. The exhibition, organised by the Singapore Art Museum, is on until 22 March 2020 and is part of Singapore Art Week 2020 (SAW). One can also look forward to other SAW offerings that will be happening in Gillman Barracks next week such as the 2nd edition of S.E.A. Focus and Art After Dark x Singapore Art Week.
