olympics coming up…… athlete aus on the mind….. satoru as a swimmer….. unreasonably large wingspan…. huge hands..... thinks “official” competitions and tournaments are boring because he can’t use the goofy purple googly eyes goggles he likes to practice in…… practices at ungodly hours solely because he likes when the pool is empty because that means you’ll dip your feet in at the edge and be there to greet him with a kiss when he’s finished his laps….. they bring up the stats board and it’s just his name ten times before the next fastest person and he could still lap them, and even tho he’ll always put so much pressure on himself to be the best, it’s worth it to have you hold his face and tell him you’re proud of him... he’s gotten so much merch from events and sponsorships and he used to think they just created clutter but that all changes when you start to wear his clothes (esp the ones with his name on it… he’s not proud to admit that does Something to him)…. always looks up to the stands when he finishes a race and if he knows you’re not there, he looks right at the camera, draws an infinity sign with his fingers, and blows a kiss (which, some commentators routinely call “unsportsmanlike conduct” but he doesn’t care, and always, publicly says he’ll pay the fees if it means blowing a kiss to his girl at home)

I have just rewatched "The Imperial City Dreams Of Thieves" (yes it's the fourth time. yes I'm aware that I may have a problem.) and it still cracks me up that, not only did Goemon immediately attempt to throw hands when he saw a guy who may or may not be Lupin - dude saw the slightest opportunity to try to skewer his boyfriend without consequences and he very literally JUMPED on it - not only that, but he CONTINUED to try to turn Lupin into human sashimi EVEN AFTER KNOWING THAT LUPIN WAS THE ONLY REAL ONE THERE. Lupin had already mentioned Goemon's missing Zantetsuken and thus proven that he couldn't be part of the computer simulation, and STILL Goemon tried to stab him with a broken sword. He didn't even have any particular beef with Lupin at the moment, Hell! for all we know they were on a romantic robbing-a-secret-lab date when they got yeeted into the simulation. No, he just decided to cut his boyfriend to bits for funsies. This man is completely unhinged, I stan him so hard.

pick five Devils players and assign them a summer Olympics sport to compete in. why did you choose that sport for them?

oh I love this, it's making me think! personally I'm assigning them sports for entirely selfish reasons (aka events I want to see them compete in). it wouldn't necessarily be bc I think one of the boys has any super specific characteristic that makes them suitable for a particular sport 😂 also nobody gets golf bc fuck golf LOL

Jonas Siegenthaler - surfing. IDK - I think Siegs has the vibes. I think he'd do well in the water. He's such a balanced and steady kind of guy. I think he's one of those dudes that look effortlessly cool with a wetsuit tied around his waist and a board tucked under the arm. I want him to do the Gabriel Medina #1 pose flying out of the water like a rock star.

Nico Hischier - rugby. On the Paris Olympics site it says ruby sevens and IDK what the difference is, but whatever. I assume Nico is decent in field sports bc he used to play soccer. I think some of his on-ice playmaking skills would be useful in this scenario. This has nothing to do with the fact that rugby players have monster thighs I swear. I also want to see him go full beast mode and drag all the guys trying to tackle him as he makes a break for the try line.

Jack Hughes - tennis. I'm imagining him competing in men's singles, but I think he could also play doubles with one of his brothers or something. Jack's quick, strategic, got stamina, has good eye-hand coordination. I also think he could thrive pretty well in a solo sport, he's got that 'dialled in' mode down to a science. Not known for super powerful serves but gets internet love/hate for really sneaky saves and tricky shots that are hard to receive.

Luke Hughes - fencing. Specifically the épée category, which is the only discipline where the whole body is a valid target. Since Luke is a defensemen, it'd be interesting to put him in the one event where he has to do the most to defend! He's a tall boy so I think having a reach advantage would be great. I also didn't know this but the épée sword is the heaviest of the three. I also just want to give Luke a sword.

Nate Bastian - mountain biking. So it's not olympics related but I saw that clip of the American biker Aaron Gwin snapping his bike's chain literally a second after he left the gate but went full 'fuck it we ball' mode and won anyway. I'm assigning this vibe to Nater. I think Nate is someone who's a little rough-and-tumble and not afraid to get out there and get dirty! Speedy downhill racing! Out in the wilderness! Thriving in the noise of the spectators and cowbells and cheers!

god, it never ceases to entertain me how this beanpole boy is taller than pretty much everyone he meets by like, a noticeable chunk

especially because his clothes are on the more form-fitting side, it really highlights that he's built like someone grabbed the crown of a regular person's head, and pulled up a couple inches to kinda just stretch that mass out a little- not to a ridiculous degree, but just enough to fuck up his posture for life, and make everyone feel a little uncomfortable when he gets too close, and they catch themselves needing to actually raise their gazes to look him in the eye
