Just a silly little guy ✌️ I can be found hiding behind a bookshelf in the Unseen University library, munching on popcorn and tending to my chaotic little blog. I like coffee, swearing, books, drawing, and a lot of fandoms. Not necessarily in that order. // Elliott, she/they/he, adult // Art blog: elliottjpg // icon: @potato-lord-but-not

As much as I love writing Sebastian as the classic lone wolf sniper, that’s probably a more recent development in his life—something that came after the military, not during it.
As he was trained as a sniper in the British military - especially if we’re talking Royal Marines or Special Forces - then he absolutely wouldn’t have been operating solo. At the very least, snipers work in pairs: one shooter, one spotter. They often switch roles depending on seniority, experience, and fatigue. But it’s not just about shooting. In fact, most of the time, snipers are focused on retaining information; extensively trained in intelligence gathering, surveillance, and target acquisition and often spending days hidden in position without ever firing a shot before leaving no trace that they were there.
A typical recon team in the UK forces is small and tight-knit—usually between 6 to 8 people, though it can be more depending on the mission/setting. Alongside the sniper and spotter, you'd likely have a team leader, someone on comms (a radio operator), a medic, and others who can handle things like demolitions or close-quarters protection.
So while the lone, brooding sniper image works great for writing - and it suits Sebastian’s vibe post-service - it’s not how he’d have been trained to work. His background would be all about discipline, teamwork, and operating smoothly as part of a well-oiled machine.
P.S. Just because I'm a nerd - a sniper very rarely goes for a headshot in reality. Snipers are primarily trained to aim for the central nervous system, specifically the high chest / centre mass, as it's far easier and more effective. It’s not about flashy shots; it’s about reliability, control, and eliminating a perceived threat with precision.

my precious baby...😖
drawing i made of goe laughing because he does NOT do it often and I'd love to see more variations of goemon smiling and laughing than just "smug smirk 1" and "part 1 goemon-esque laughing". i didn't do him justice either but idk

"you really should pay attention to female characters! and not just male characters you hc as trans girls"
listen. you don't need to add that last part. the overlap between "people who categorically don't care about women" and "people who are comfortable reading a fictional character as a trans girl" is like MAYBE two people.
you are perhaps misunderstanding the modern nonblack fandom use of the word "babygirl". this is not transfem headcanoning, this is people using feminity as shorthand for submissiveness and infantalization.

I don't understand why all these characters are surnamed Kong. It appears to reflect some kind of-- like not ALL the apes are named Kong, so it has to mean something, no??

Sometimes Vulcan bonds are written as something that makes you collapse or even die if the other person is hurt.
Personally, I think it makes more sense that an injury in your bondmate, parent, or child should give you the strength to lift a car, like human mothers are supposed to be able to do, or dive into the water to save them if they're drowning.
Your bondmate is in trouble? Here's the absolute maximum strength and speed and mental acuity evolution can give you, good luck.

I wish depression were an emergency. I wish someone could take one look at how sick I am and go “oh my god, we need to get you to a hospital!” and then when we get there I get rushed into surgery and the surgeons say “it’s a good thing you brought her here when you did, this is a seriously advanced case” and then they put me under and spend the next ten hours pulling metres of long, sticky black strands of gunk out of my body, throwing it immediately into an incinerator so that it can’t infect anyone else. And then they could stitch me back up and I could rest a few days, and when I leave the hospital everyone can see how much better I am and they congratulate me saying “well done, you’ve been so brave, I’m so glad you’re ok. I love you.”
