Here I imagined him as a being that started off as a cicada that the Buddha changed into a human when he noticed the bug listening intently to his teachings. In Buddhism only humans can reach enlightenment, but the loss of the innocence of insects may be a terrible thing.

This may be particularly true if you now understand that of your over 400 brothers and sisters, only you will live beyond a few weeks.

Ooo one of my favorite Xiyouji comics, now anime! Westward in Eng, and 西行纪 (Xī xíng jì)!

I don't want to spoil too much but it takes place sixteen years after the pilgrim find the Sutra (only 1) and handed it to the Heavenly Court, however SOMETHING goes wrong and the world has not changed for the better.

Now that the whereabouts of the scriptures are unknown, the Jade Emperor sent a large army to search for them and will do anything to find them again. The first scene starts at Tianyu Mountain, where the dragon clan was accused of having and hiding the Sutra.

A white wolf demon, Bailang goes out of his way to find legendary master and apprentice of the original pilgrimage to help protect the Sutra and return them back to the West.

AND IT IS INSANE! The character designs! The battles! The powers! The LORE! I ate this comic up! And the ANIME TOO!!! It was a wild ride from start to finish and I can't wait for more this year with season 4!!!

I have never known how much a middle-aged pissed off Sanzang that is just too tied and has a 5 o'clock shadow 24/7 and is horribly depressed could improve a story BUT IT MAKES IT SO DAMN ENTERTAINING!

Do you have any other drawings of Redboy (JTTW ver)? I absolutely love your design for him, and the henna is a beautiful touch, I'd love to see more if you have any other drawings of him! :)

I also wanted to know how you came up with your design for him, and what inspired different aspects of his design?

Thank you! Red boy is based a lot off of where I set him in the story. To me, Princess Iron Fan is Bengali and Demon Bull King is southern Chinese.

I believe he’s a total mommas boy since she misses him so much when Wukong meets her, so the pants and henna come from his love for her. I really really need to work on his design more, I’m not entirely happy with his outfit and I need to change his hair, but he’s still my cutie.

A lot of how I draw Red Son in LMK comes from my JTTW design for him, like his horns and tail, so I definitely need to mix it up haha. Truth be told, I’m actually nervous about showing my JTTW work here, since people have already started copying my designs for certain characters, but I suppose it can’t be helped haha.

xxygm93 and darkpeachhy asked a question that is pretty much the same! So I decided to do a separate post to it! Both of them were talking about how horrible MC is to Sofie and here is a little colorful comic that I made about what is happening JUST BEFORE Wukong is going to feral apeshit! This moment will be Sofie's most horrible situation and luckily after this incident, she will not get hurt like that. After MC told her his plan Sofie said as she was scared but her adrenaline was high: "That will not work..b-because you can't do it! You are not Sun Wukong even if you try to be! And you will never be like him! What you are is a monster-" before she could finish MC took a hold of her head and slammed it to the ground hard enough that Sophie thought she will pass out. But just before that could happen MC had something to say to her face before our hero is here to save the day!

(Takes place a moment before facing the final boss and after that snowy pagoda.) Does the destined one stay as the destined one with just wukong's memory or would he be wukong himself just with a new body? Dunno! I figured I'd make this line of thought be a conflict to my character who once journeyed with wukong but was unable to tell him her feelings cause she didn't want to impede his ascent to buddhahood. At this point, she has gotten attached to the Destined one but of course she can't deny a part of her heart still belongs to the great sage. What to do? The lines are from a scene in Steven Universe in the episode, Rose's Scabbard! I saw it and instantly couldn't resist thinking about this T- T took me awhile but i finally finished it hehe
