Jrwi RAFT dopple headcannon list

The earlier dopples, some of the first ones after the Navy figured out how to make them genetically stable, are a lot more physically put together and stable than the current ones, mainly because more thought was put into making them.

Most dopples made are of Tritons because they're generally hardier then humans are, and can survive longer while being skinned so more fresh material can be gathered.

Another thing about Tritons over humans is that there's usually very little difference between tritons who live in the same area/water, unlike humans, who very greatly even if they are from the same area. Large physical differences were a big difficulty during the making of the earlier dopples, this would later solve itself with the addition of the mimic DNA, but it was a pretty big roadblock at first.

Dopples take shape very, very quickly, and due to some funky chemicals the Navy has access to, less detailed dopples it can take nothing but a few minutes.

Of course, to make a dopple, you need a bit of the source material. After trials after trials after experiments, the Navy have found that fresh skin works best. The less fresh it is, the more cells decompose which makes for a less stable dopple.

The addition of mimic DNA was a recent discovery/piece added to the puzzle, but it was one that helped research proceed much much faster.

The more mimic DNA a dopple has, the less humanoid they look. Each dopple has a different amount of mimic DNA, considering the Navy are lazy shits and didn't care to spread it out right.

What the mimic genes do is allow for small changes in the exterior appearance, such as eye color, scars, freckles, patterns, and other such miscellaneous things.

A dopples true form usually has sharp teeth, sharp nails, narrow pupils, an extra row of teeth, scales, and rarely a split jaw.

When a dopple is the disguised as the person they are made to mimic, multiple people will feel an eerie sensation, or the sensation of being watched. Think uncanny valley.

Dopples seem to take after mimics in the fact that they are ambush predators, and heavily rely on darkness and the element of surprise.

As said earlier, some dopples have more mimic DNA than others. Those who do have a surplus of mimic DNA and aren't genetically falling apart are usually able to mimic the voices of other people and sometimes even average sounds. A bird, a chair being pushed, door hinges, etc.

Like cats, dopples eyes reflect in the darkness, illuminating the area eerie glow.

Dopples usually take after the intelligence of the person they were made in the image of, so while a dumb brute dopple may be physically dangerous, a cold and calculated one is even more threatening.

Dopples have displayed animalistic behaviors before, and are completely willing to commit cannibalism if unfed.

Most dopples are made with a purpose, and the way they are designed makes it so that purpose is the reason they live. Whoever decides what their life goal is when they are created is what will be their will to live.

Dopples hate bright areas, not only because they rely on shadows for ambush, but also because their eyes are extra sensitive to light.

They can also see in artificial darkness that people with dark vision wouldn't even be able to see in, and can also hear much much farther than the average person.

Dopples have very large appetites. Being constantly disguised does take a toll on your body.

Well I am a teensy bit worried about the magic memory relapse thingy, I hope it'll be viewed in a more positive light, and now that there's no negative emotions Gillion is finally able to accept that what happened to him was fucked up

But anyways, the tragedy/horror/comedy of doppelgill is something you can pick apart because there's always more to dig down and there's always more hidden stuff and it just keeps getting worse and it's wonderful 😌

how many memories of edyn does dopple gillion have. would dopple gill have any memories gillion never did. how many of dopple gills memories were ones that made him feel love, the care he did. dopple gillion was aware he didnt have "all his memories", you think they did that to control him. i think his spirit, the fact hes "gillion", allowed him to see through it, to not be tricked, maybe thats why he was left there. why else would they leave such a strong soldier behind in such a strong base.

back to edyn. i think dopple gillion loves "his" sister. he knows these memories shouldnt be his. these arent people hes known. but maybe he wanted to. maybe he didnt have kind eyes like how gillion would see but gill saw the eyes of a man doing what he knows how to do to live and he wanted to show him the world beyond that. hes doing more then what hes told (probably the opposite) but i think then and there he understood why he got picked up that day. he understood why chip took him out that ocean, and he wished for dopple gilly to take his hand.

did dopple gilly learn chips favorite color was brown. does he know jays favorite animal was raccoons. does he remember all the times gill was on deaths door, and yet chose to keep fighting. does he know why. does he know it was for the two people here with him in that building. does dopple gillion know to fuck shit up, help those in need, and be the best goddamn pirate the world has ever seen.

does dopple gillion even know about the small frogtopus, supposedly at his side always, who loves pretzels.

or was he too stupid to ever care.

Now, I noticed smth rather interesting during the Grandma Recording

She mentioned her son. And him being Stable.

Now. One could assume she was talking about Drey being in the Block trapped and not going anywhere his location "Stabilized".

However, I don't think that's right. I think she was talking about Jayson.

I think, we haven't once seen the REAL Jayson Ferin. That in his grief for his daughter Ava, he had been in a vulnerable state, thrown himself into his work, didn't really question orders.

Now, in comes his Mother, someone he knows and trusts. She tells him about this new device the Navy has created. How it could help him better serve the Navy, better protect his family.

She used the brainwasher on him, not to a significant degree, not to get rid of his base personality. But enough for him to never question orders, always bring in a pirate (regardless of who it might be), to be a good soldier, and a father that can protect his daughter. Being more a puppet than a dutiful Father and Soldier

I believe there was a point where Drey mentioned that Jayson changed. That he went from being more neutral, to more antagonistic towards Drey and pirates in general. Odd how that was called out...

He may have been stoic before, but he got aggressive and cold at some point.

But of course, we have no real way of knowing until Grizzly clues us in more.

I cannot wait to see how the implications of brainwashed soldiers changes the course of what we know of the world of Mana

No because I’ve actually always kind had this thought since the Dopples were revealed. Like imagine how good it would be if the next time Gill meets up with Edyn, she says something just a little off, just wrong enough for Gill to catch.

Imagine Gill knowing something is wrong, but is to afraid of the idea that it might be to use divine sense. Imagine the fallout of him finally breaking and using it on Edyn and him realizing that she isn’t his sister. She’s not even Edyn.

So i finally finished watching ep 115 of Riptide and uhhh so like I can finally get this thought off my chest. A little theory if you will.

Edyn Tidestrider was replaced by a doppelganger, right? Like? If I remember correctly she was so nervous about talking to Gillion in the sea bar when they first found each other because she thought they were being watched(? it's been a while). And then the next time we hear from her it's Chip spying on her talking to a navy soldier and then she cuts all contact because she's doing something dangerous? She's either in the process of being replaced by a doppelganger or already has been. RIGHT? LIKE. Jay's grandmother's logs say that several targets have already been successfully replaced, what's the point of telling the pcs and US that people have been getting replaced by doppelgangers if someone important isn't a doppelganger? I think it's Edyn. I think Edyn's been replaced and the real Edyn is either dead, captured, or on the run. I've always felt Edyn was suspicious so maybe I'm just looking for reasons to validate that but like... doppelganger Edyn... As long as we find out what Edyn's been up to eventually I don't really care what it is lmao but it's still an interesting thought.

IS FUCKING DREY A GOD DAMN DOPPELGANGER?!?

Because let me tell you, when listening to Jay's grandma talk on the shell about the Black Sea project, I was extremely confused why the fuck she mentioned her son.

"The machine is stable. My son is stable..."

I originally thought of Jayson. Made sense to me, the guy was really pissed the last time we saw him and I sometimes forget that Drey is also a Ferin, so stable in my mind was mental health wise. Then I was thinking about it, and realized her son's mental health had nothing to do with the project so why the fuck would she mention it in her log. AND THEN my brother (who recommended JRWI to me) that had the "oh shit it's probably Drey" moment and honestly, he's probably fucking right!

Drey, who has memory problems. Drey, who can't use his arms. Drey, WHO HAS BEEN THERE THE WHOLE TIME!

And with Dopple Gillion, we know that the clone has some of the memories of the other person and the somewhat the same abilities, so it makes sense that we wouldn't know Drey was a fake, if he is a fake.

I still kinda think it might be Jayson. The clones can be somewhat manipulated. If the real Jayson was dead/dying, it would make sense that his mom would just clone her son. The perfect soldier. I mean, the guy had been away from his family for a long time. If he came back weird, no one would notice.

Either which way, Jay's fucking grandma experimented on one of her son's. One of the Ferin boys aren't real.
