chip doesnt say "i love you" when he really means it because he constantly carries that soul deep fear that everyone he loves either Dies or Leaves Him, and saying it out loud makes it feel Too Real Too Scary Too Dangerous, so he shows it instead of saying it because its easier and it means more because hes putting effort in to bridge the gap instead of just giving up.

and then in episode 115 he says "i love you" to jay out loud.

he says "i love you" when he says goodbye.

he says "i love you" when he wishes her luck.

he says "i love you" when she leaves him headed for certain death

i was rewatching the first time the albatrio met Nik and when Gillian first made the deal with him, and I just wanted to point out/bring attention back to some things regarding all of their deals :D

the specific phase of the moon used in the NK tattoo represents corruption, as opposed to the sun, which represents freedom and life. Griz said they were similar to the yin and yang, and we see this again later with the sun and the moon temple

mayor Rolin said that, before he was overcome with the black ooze, the number of voices in his head had multiplied and he wasn't able to properly function, SO LOOK OUT FOR THAT Y'ALL IN FUTURE EPISODES ‼️‼️ (I also do want to point out that when chip first entered the hole in the sea he did hear whispers, sooo.. 🤨)

since Jay is off attempting to warn Lizzie before the Grandberry Pirates all get ambushed, Chip, Gill, Drey, and Gryffon are all alone in the hole. Chips deal rules that he cannot interfere with Gillions favor, meaning that no one except Gryffon and Drey can stop whatever Niklaus orders of him. and also considering the point where we left off Drey was missing, I don't have high hopes T-T

the wording behind Chips deal is very vague, I've noticed. it simply says he cannot interfere, but it was never elaborated on whether or not it would magically keep him from interfering, or if it would compel him not to, or if he did there would be repercussions, it's all very confusing. intentionally confusing, I assume, bc it's confusing but in the smart way

Jay's deal essentially gives Niklaus the ability to order her to do anything to anyone, excluding Chip and Gill. this could very well mean she could be ordered to kill Lizzie or Edyn or Caspian or even her own dad @_@

on the flipside, it ALSO means Jay could be ordered to release someone she was about to kill, or protect someone who's naturally her enemy

The artificial leviathan thing is actually so fucked up.

( spoilers for EP 114 so don't read if you haven't watched that yet )

I just realized how fucked up the artificial leviathan thing actually is.

And like yeah obviously it's fucked up they're creating a creature to fight in a war against the undersea that's fucked up to begin with yes.

But first of all we learned that this was something they planned to do after signing a treaty with the undersea. They planned to be friends, to have them trust them first before going through with this plan. They planned on creating an alliance just to break it.

Now the especially fucked up part is the artifial leviathan tho. Because yes it is just a very powerful creature in general. Massive creature that can destroy masses of soldiers easily if under the control of the navy.

But the Leviathans are also like gods to the undersea. They worship them. They love them. Part of gillions oath is that he has to pay them respect, both in life and in death.

They're powerful beasts to use against the undersea not only because of their physical power but also because of what they mean to the people of the undersea.

Even if a Leviathan attacked them, they couldn't fight back. They couldn't just kill it, even if they had the power. It turns it into a fight not based on physical power alone but also unbearable choices.

They decided to take what the undersea looks up to and loves the most and turn it into a weapon to use against them. And that's so so fucked up the more you think about it.

Well boys, time for a new Theory after episode 115 dropped

This one is gonna focus on Chip and a bit of the original version of the Prophecy

Warning of spoilers and unhinged thought process, read at your own risk

For this post imma be focusing on a line from the Prophecy. Which would be:

"The seal remains locked by a Key of Divinity"

So I ask you:

How does Chip know Celestial?

Why was he Welcomed Home in that place?

What is the secret of himself that not even he knows?

He is the key. It's why in the one shot, Chip being grabbed was specifically mentioned. Why Niklaus felt the need to make a deal with Chip that would land him directly in the Hole in the Sea.

Now, fair warning, I do believe that Niklous would be fully aware of such a moment and set the board for this eventually. The why is the only thing I am uncertain about, I have my thoughts but that's a theory for another time.

He was Welcomed Home because that was where he would always end up, it was the place he would always find his way to. You could even say, it was the place he was Destined to be.

Now, here is where it all gets a bit more nuanced...

I believe there to always have been someone who was a Key of Divinity. When the last dies, a new one is born. (Basically an Avatar situation)

However the reason it is only just now happening is because it's only now that the stars have aligned to allow whatever has been locked away to be unleashed.

The key has always been born on a different plane, whatever was locked away was not strong enough in it's prison to reach out for the key, and it hadn't been arms reach.

Until Chip.

Chip has been the first to meet all the qualifications. And Niklous nudged Captain Rose to head that way for their last Journey, for Chip to get grabbed. However there was unexpected interruptions, in the form of Arlin, Drey, and Finn.

So Niklous would have to rearrange the board to get Chip once again where he needed to be.

And now he is.

And it may be too late.
