it's wild to see myhouse having escaped the orbit of Doom People, because so much of it specifically riffs on doom in a way that is laser-targeted at Doom People, to the point that i just wouldn't have expected it to be nearly as interesting if you don't pick up on that stuff
right from the outset, "my house" is even a recognizable genre, because doom was among the first approachable platforms for creating a 3D space, and if you give random people the ability to create a 3D space then many of them will just try to recreate their own house. (i want to say jp lebreton even made an effort to play through every house map on the idgames archive at one point, though hell if i can find it now.) there was in fact already a "myhouse.wad", from 1995!
frankly it's incredible that someone (or someones) put so much effort into this map and then had the gall to simply post it on doomworld as "myhouse.wad", because that is a thread title that guarantees the fewest possible people will bother to look. there are posts in the thread where people outright admit that they only checked because they were surprised how many replies a "my house" wad got.
so anyway, okay, the "classic" doom wad experience is that you download a wad, it contains exactly 1 map, and it has zero custom textures or music or other frills. most wads from the 90s are like this; if you're lucky you might get a bad midi rendition of a metallica song. nowadays there are texture artists and musicians and everything collaborating on full map packs, but "just a map" is still kind of the default mapping experience and is recognizable to anyone who's been around doom for sufficiently long.
and myhouse riffs on absolutely every aspect of this:
• the music is the MAP01 music, Running From Evil, which is just the music you get if you supply your own map in the MAP01 slot and do nothing else. so a ton of 90s maps had this same track as their background music, so everyone has heard it a zillion times. it is ingrained into so many people's skulls. subtly fucking with it is a great way to fuck with the player
• the house uses only stock doom 2 textures, or occasionally light modifications of them. again this is just what you get if you make a map and don't supply any other resources, so the stock textures are very familiar. only later, with sufficient poking around, does the map introduce new textures, which really help sell the impression of being swept away to Somewhere Else
• if you take the exit, you go to MAP02, Underhalls. this is the expected experience because doom wads replace what's already there — you're not really supplying a "new map pack" or anything, you're overwriting a map from the original doom 2 progression. (there are ways to fiddle with this now, but in vanilla doom 2, the level progression was hardcoded.) so the "ending" of a no-frills single-map wad is always, always to transition to Underhalls. the opening shot of Underhalls is practically like seeing the credits. so roping Underhalls into the experience is completely unexpected, because Underhalls is the sign that you've escaped back to regular doom
• the super shotgun is "hidden" in Underhalls, in probably the best-known super shotgun location in the whole game, because it's the first time you can get it
• incidentally Underhalls itself feels uncanny, because the player camera height is higher than usual to make the house's proportions feel sensible. (part of the trouble with exact recreations of real spaces in doom is that the camera is weirdly low.) i was actually convinced that myhouse included a modified Underhalls, but no, it's stock doom 2 Underhalls, it just feels off when you're slightly taller
but wait, there's more
• silent teleporters are a feature from boom, a very early doom derivative that added a number of helpful mapping features and is basically considered only half a step beyond vanilla. so shifting between two versions of a space without interruption isn't completely unexpected. it's only later that the portal use becomes more obvious
• although if you're especially canny, you should notice that the second version of the house shows both the upstairs and downstairs windows in full, which is impossible — doom cannot do room-over-room. (in fact this is accomplished with a semi-obscure zdoom feature called sector portals — essentially, the whole second floor and the space outside it are a separate area, and the "ceiling" of the yard becomes a view up through the "floor" of that second space.)
• swinging doors are a hexen feature (polyobjects) that gzdoom inherited. (heretic and hexen were modifications of the doom engine, and zdoom started out as a merge of all three codebases into something that could play all three games.) they might also be in other fancy engines (eternity?), but they are very distinctly not a doom thing. if you're deeply familiar with doom's limitations then they'll jump out at you immediately, but if you're looking at doom like it's any old 3D game then maybe not so much
• recreations of other humble real-world locales are also a somewhat common theme, and remind me in particular of Doom City, from way back in 1995
• a very common desire for players is to "uv-max" a map, i.e. reach the exit on ultra-violence with 100% kills and secrets. if you can't do this, the map is (reasonably) considered broken. it is comically impossible to do this in myhouse, and anyone with the skill to create the map would be acutely aware of this
• the extra weapon frames look to be borrowed from the well-known smooth doom, which adds extra frames for everything and is just pretty dang slick overall. so it's not merely "ho ho, got you, smoother weapons" but specific integration of another familiar project
• this might be reaching a bit, but mirrors are specifically a nightmare in zdoom's software renderer because they work by rendering all visible geometry as if it were physically present on the other side of the mirror — and if there be any actual geometry back there, it will also get rendered and you will have a big fucking mess. so a mirror in the middle of a room is a laughable idea. this is somewhat less of a concern now that the hardware renderer is basically the default, but it's still a spectre looming over the very concept of mirrors, so the way mirrors play out in myhouse is very funny to me
there's probably more, like, the way it intercepts noclip is a stroke of genius and not something i've ever seen done before. but i hope you get the idea

hello there! so sorry for how vague this question is but: do you have any idea as to why EN won’t give us the tamashina event? :’< we got the stitch event before tamashina 💔

It is true that the EN server seems to have shuffled the order of release for Tamashna Muina (this is the spelling of the event music from the official soundtrack, which I have never seen anywhere else before 👀 Interesting!) but EN has a history of rearranging events, putting Halloween before Vargas Camp, Tsumsted before Harveston, Port Fest after Vargas Camp 2, etc ^^
We do not have any precedence for EN skipping something altogether so I think it is safe to say that EN will receive Tamashna sooner or later, and we might be able to guess when 👀
The 30th anniversary of the release of the animated Lion King movie is coming! ^^
As it was originally released in June in the US it seems that a June release would have made more sense than the Stitch event for this month. There is a chance they are opting for the Japan release date, instead? Maybe?
And there is another event up and coming!
The new "Mufasa" movie is coming out this December, but it was originally slotted for a July 5th release 👀
Is it possible that Aniplex USA timed their 2024 schedule around Mufasa coming out in July, and were not able to adapt to the sudden change that came from the writer's strike?
This would not be the first time that the EN server has tied in-game content to a live-action theatrical release, with a "release celebration" and Octavinelle Training Camp timed with the The Little Mermaid! (And this was unique to EN! JP received a log-in bonus but no training camp.)
In conclusion: Based on past release patterns, there is a good chance that Tamashna is on its way! ^^
A July release would be curious due to its proximity to Leona's birthday, but it would also not be the first time that EN has released multiple SSRs of the same character curiously close together (re: Phantom Bride and Clubwear Ace, Dorm Malleus and Birthday Malleus, Tsum Azul and Birthday Azul, etc.).

Uhhh Honestly I do not. The archive app was very buggy. It's been a while so others can correct me if I'm wrong, but if you had too many characters then it didn't record any of your account's progress.
Oh! Actually I found one screenshot I took. Here:
The images never showed and if you tried to watch the transformation video, it just gave you Tsuruno's. Needless to say, I was pretty disgusted by how useless it was and deleted it pretty quickly.
Thinking back on it, I'm thinking that the archive app at the end for NA was made by maybe one or two people who were probably overworked/underpaid trying to deliver a product that ultimately didn't work. I'm thankful that the development of the archive app gave us another month before NA's EOS though, because it gave me more time to record things.
However, for the upcoming JP Archive, we do have some select information. And it looks like it's going to be different than the one for NA.
There was a big livestream earlier this month that combined Magia Record news with Exedra news. I made a post that just copy+pasted Raz's thorough summary from discord: you can check out the link here.
It looks like you'll be able to see what girls you had along with progress on them (how many slots, magia, doppel). It doesn't look like you can look at card art, but you can see their sprites?
NA looked like a modified version of the archive, while this looks like you can see the girls in the character screen.
From the earlier Exedra stream summary, we also know that we'll be able to see:
Your Magical Girl info screen, from which you can view all of your Magical Girls and their levels/Memo Slots/Magia Levels/Transformations, etc.
Your info archive, which shows off the information of all the Magical Girls, Memoria, Doppels, Witches, and Uwasa that you have encountered during you Magia Record career.
So it combines the Archive with the Magical Girl Info screen?
The last thing I want to say is that the NA Archive sucked, but that's because I think we weren't going to get one in the first place-- it's been a while so my memory might be wrong on that. It was sort of thrown together at the end to placate angry players.
I don't think that JP is going to be as buggy and messed up as NA was. It still sucks that we won't be able to view events in the archive but it appears that the version we're getting is more comprehensive. Additionally, just based on the way the game is going out at the end, I feel like the devs do care about the player experience. Some things are very slow at getting fixed-- for example, the issue with Kimochi capped numbers-- but they were eventually fixed. This is for a game that is going to EOS in less than ten days. They didn't have to jam a bunch of cool events for two-ish months (THAT BRING THEM NO MONEY) but they did, and I think it's because-- despite all the flaws and the predatory nature of gacha games-- the devs do care about its players.
Maybe. I dunno. Probably?
My point being, I am tentatively hopeful that the upcoming EOS archive app will be far more useful than the NA one and much less buggy.
I hope this helps? I apologize that I didn't have a video or screenshot for you more than that one. I think I remember people posting images on the subreddit, if that helps with giving a direction to look for.

so my plan for this mew shiny hunt was to set up the shiny hunt in green with the early trainer fly glitch, and then play through jp red to do the old man glitch to dupe rare candies and also get a master ball for the fastest possible resets... and i did that. once i finished up the plot in pokemon tower i realized i could beeline for koga, then cinnabar, and then i could do the glitch... except i wasn't encountering any missingno on the shore. and then i googled it and found out that somehow i didn't know the old man glitch doesn't work in the original japanese versions!!
the missingno that give you a bazillion item dupes in slot 6 of your inventory still exist though, and it's possible to encounter any pokemon (including missingno) with the trainer fly glitch, so i checked and luckily i still had a viable long distance trainer to activate the glitch with. the plan was to do that and get a pokemon with the special stat i needed, have it copied by a wild ditto on route 14, and then bam, encounter the missingno. small issue: most of the missingno crash the game and the only stable ones i know about are the fossil looking ones, obtained with a special stat of 182/183. which is. a really high number
after a bit of brainstorming i went to the power plant for zapdos and caught it a few times until it had a high special stat, then spent pretty much all my life savings from being meticulous about fighting trainers on 10 calcium to boost its special further, and then i leveled it to level 55 with rare candies... level 56 wasn't enough, and level 57 overshot the 182-183 range i wanted, so i did have to grind a little bit of stat experience manually before candy-ing to level 56, but in the end it worked out (albeit consuming a lot more time than i expected)
doing this on hardware was very fun lol. after this i leveled my vaporeon with some of the rare candies and steamrolled through the few obligatory silph co fights to get the master ball too.
just realized i never explained how i was actually going to get the items into green. the only legitimate way to move items between gen 1 games is with the stadium games, which has extra item storage
i am ready for mew... but not now, i'm sleepy

here is my ds family i hope u like them ↑ they all need some form of repair work done, aside from the blue jp xl and metallic rose lite (im not fixing her floppy hinge .)
lite is my first real console and she will be 17 this christmas :) blue dsi had to have the whole mobo replaced because i ripped off a connector on accident the first time i disassembled it Oopsie. red 3ds and metallic rose dsi xl need new game slots soldered in and ill get around to that when i can afford replacements lol. luckily theyre all modded so its not necessary. sorry i could ramble wayy more about these i really really like console repair

Starting Next Season, Challenges will be held in Six Different Time Slots instead of Three. The first Challenge appears to be a Turf War on Robo ROM-en and Bluefin Depot.
I will post the timeslots once it's updated in game. (Since as of this moment NA hasn't made the Challenge post but JP has - I rather not try to convert the times & get it wrong.) Since it starts on the 3rd in Japan, it will likely start on the 2nd in the States.

Well just based on the news I think the February lim slot has to be a unit event unless they don't care about finishing the rotation before 3.5. January lim could go either way, but because of WxS World Link, that only leaves January lim, February slots 1 and 2, February lim, and March slot 2
Haruka is guaranteed to be one of the perm February slots. Honami could either be January lim or February 1. I think Ena is more likely to be the February lim than Toya is, especially given how the MV types line up. I mean they could do three 3DMV unit events in a row (with a mixed event in there somewhere) since the last 3DMV would end up in March if they do that, but it feels a little more likely they'd do the double 3DMV events and then the next 2DMV. Ena also hasn't had a lim banner with her as the focus (all of her unit events and both of her mixed events have been perms)
I don't know. WxS World Link kinda messes everything up, and the lim schedule is a mess
okay so first off after the stream it occurred to me that i did a big stupid and Honami 4 cannot be the lim banner this month. Lol. Because that would've required them to announce 3 event songs this wandasho channel.
So Toya4 is Toya/Kohane/An lims end of february. Calling it now. Ena I have my doubts about because you could do Ena/Mafuyu/Kaito because both girls are desperate for lims and n25 kaito will be the next vsinger lim, but considering Mizuki has never been rateup on an Ena unit event and also has the most lims in the game right now, I think a Ena/Mizuki rateup for ena4 is most likely.
I will admit I'm still very stuck on things. At the very least it's pretty much confirmed that Hona4 is slot 1 and Haruka4 is slot 2 for february.
Given Emu skipping the rateup she should've had on the current event i'd say she's most likely to be the lim event (plus i think it's too close to akito's last lim when lots of characters have gone nearly a year w/o, and kanade is capped on 4* cards rn). If we look at the characters who need a lim within the next 4 lim events, we have Toya, An, Ena, Mafuyu, Honami, and Emu. Emu already has been featured on mixed events with Ena, Honami and Toya, and we can rule out An based on the likeliness of Toya4 being lim. Emu/Mafuyu works, since they have an established connection, and n25 kaito should be the next vsinger lim and he works with mafuyu.
Also I've seen multiple JP specs that Akito will be the 3.5 event, which makes a lot of sense now that i think about it. it's either kanade, emu, or akito, and miku usually has a 4* on the .5 events. out of those characters, two of them already have a lim miku for their unit. so you could do something like, akito/miku and then maybe ena? i know she was lim on last year's .5 event but there's that 12 month limit thing that's been pretty consistent. plus, pre-established connection. honestly you could probably put Honami on there too because she has a connection to Ena.
then kanade perm mixed after 3.5 god knows who the cards would be on that.
it's patchy, but here's a visual demo of what i'm thinking rn. with this i'm also assuming Ichika/Saki 3.5 fes and Tsukasa/Emu summer fes. mainly based on the fact the WL gacha will end only 8 days before 3.5 (minori and shiho could get away with it because they at least had two weeks between cards). also saki will need a lim more than emu by that point under the assumption that next event is emu.

S2E01 Part Two - The Elevators
Where: The Atrium When: March 21st, 10 am. Who: All Remaining Residents
After the departure of the rescue teams, Tobias calls together the remaining residents to gather around the elevator doors in the Atrium, a broad and excited smile on his face as he motioned toward Mr. Jenkins who stood beside him looking rather besotted with being the center of attention himself.
"Hello, everyone, I'm sure you've all had the chance to at least say hello to Mr. Jenkins here and his wife. They're some of the survivors from the yacht that the others have gone to help. Fortunately for all of us, he used to be an electrical engineer and for the last couple of days since he's been here, he's been inspecting the elevators. He believes that he can get them tied into our power so we can have at least one running. This center one that goes all the way up into the penthouse, as it's on it's own circuit."
Both men seemed to enjoy the sound of pleased surprise that followed from the residents, though Bob absolutely basked in it, much to the rolling of Abigail's eyes in the crowd.
"We're going to be prying the doors open to get a look at the position of the car, so we're going to need a few strong men to help us with use of these."
Turning to the rolling cart from The W that stood beside him Tobias motioned to a couple of crow bars and a couple lengths of rebar. Pointing to @survivalxofxthexfittest(JP), @beauclary and @wellsinvesting, waving them over to help. Little by little the elevator doors give way, Bob pushing closer to try and get any view he can through the growing gap in the doors, a flashlight pointed upwards. Then, all at once they give way and jolt back abruptly into their slots with a loud bang that reverberates through the entire building as the elevator shaft echoes with it.
For a moment, nothing happens besides Bob leaning over and shining the flashlight down into the shaft, confirming the apparatus down there seemed undamaged by the explosions in the lobby. As he turned to shine the flashlight toward the top of the shaft he found himself very nearly knocked off his feet by a swarm of at least dozen bats that came rushing from it's depths. Bats... that though they were flying... looked and smelled half rotted.
Post breakfast rations and the departure of the rescue teams, most residents would likely be in the atrium at the moment of the swarm, but this is up to you. The bats are infected and can spread the infection, this makes it a good opportunity for immune residents to step up.
Though the bats are flying, they are not flying well. Like chompers they have little coordination, and are flying basically blindly at anything that moves, but cannot course correct to avoid obstacles. Please take note, four of them have their stomachs rotted out and absolutely are leaking nastiness all over the atrium and it's surrounding spaces who's doors were just opened for the morning. The virus cannot be contracted through this, only bites, it's just incredibly gross.
Have fun with the initial swarm, and then the most terrifying game of jump scare hide and seek with chomper bats! Don't worry, I'm sure that will be the only surprise awaiting the stay at home residents.
The event will run until at least Oct 29th so as not to rush threads.

- for people unaware, corvus is crow’s name in the spanish translation, but i think it fits better as a name. who tf just names their kid straight up crow.

- crow and pipper look so much fucking alike i refuse to believe they aren’t related, but i was unsure if i was gonna make her like a younger sister. for now they’re cousins.
- i swear to god if i mixed up the maltese and polish flag for marilyn im gonna eat my desk no i will not factcheck we die like men
- scraps mentions having a mother, and since he also mentions wanting to take care of her, u kind of have to figure there’s no dad. i made her kind of weedy to suit it
- another mix of localisations, with tweeds and gus being the US and UK names respectively, so i thought why not mix them. actually makes for a good name right??
- we all know about nabbys runaway dad so it goes without saying there’s a single mama there
- also another US & UK crossover. ill b honest, i had a weird dream regarding this where it said roddy was his real name? but since nabby kinda implies the act of ‘to nab something’ it makes a good nickname for a pickpocket
- dont ask me why he’s scouse i can just feel it in my soul okay
- also canon has a dad which he mentions worked at the factory
- i was gonna make badger have a real normal name but like. i know someone mutually who’s real name is actually just badger which i find way funnier lol
- ofc we all know shackwell is louis’ dad, and that he’s canon the oldest too
- gave him a dead mum :(( felt that in my soul too. buuut shackwell mentions having a wife so. gotta slot that in somewhere u know.

SF6 Comic Thoughts:
(Spoilers) For those wondering at home why the dude became homeless in SF6, Ken Masters got suckered into a crypto scheme and is tanking his company and a developing country’s budget and his relationship with his son at the same time, and he almost gets politically assassinated by the end of this.
This rules.
Yeah this was great. Completely forgot this was even an Udon thing until I started writing this because this had like, a story, and dramatic tension, a major character facing consequences and minor characters getting attention, things happening besides boring basic pretext for fanservice and special moves which has basically never happened in an Udon Street Fighter comic. I like a lot that this is keeping things in limited scope so far.
Even Bengus’ art is pretty good here. I’m really not a fan of how Bengus’s art style looks nowadays, but the black-and-white heavy shadow palette really works here (seen some scans in color and, yeah just doesn’t hit as nicely), the stylization and paneling’s pretty great, idk man, it’s Bengus with a marginal budget and time to work on his art and having interesting material to work with. This has gotta be a breath of fresh air for the dude after years spent in the SFV mines.

I’m really liking Mel as the other protagonist here. They’ve been sitting on Mel havin an expanded role since SF3 and here he’s given quite a lot more personality than I expected, lonely and frustrated by a sheltered upbringing and biting back against his father’s indecisiveness and immaturity, a pretty great foil for idiot manchild Luke to bounce off.
Mel Masters as he’s presented here is a frankly pretty terrific idea for a Street Fighter protagonist outside the games: someone who couldn’t be less impressed by street fighting but is bound by blood and circumstance to be a part of this, the anti-Sakura. An introspective kid who really just wants to go hang out with friends his age and play Pokemon, but who’s getting dragged through wolf-filled mountains and putting up with hyperactive fireball-tossing buff dudes because his dad is one of the greatest among them.
I like Luke quite a bit here. Not gonna touch the private military contractor thing here though, I feel like that’s a can of worms to unpack later, but if nothing else, Luke gets a lot more tolerable and even enjoyable when he has someone to bounce off even just visually, whether it’s Ryu or Jaime or the player character or Mel here. I think SF6 in game and here has settled Luke into maybe the best niche they could slot him in, described as “someone who likes to fight but with no intention of getting stronger”. As in, the New Generation but not necessarily the protagonist, but rather the coach who’s showing the ropes for the protagonist, getting you used to the controls or pumping you up or teaching Mel how to improve his camping skills and etc (and in that context him being visually and personality-wise reminiscent of videogame streamers and E-sports celebrities is, a more logical and less grating decision, if nothing else, since those are the guys people go to nowadays in order to learn and improve at competitive videogames).
Curious as to what is Kalima’s deal given she’s making her debut here and what is her dynamic with JP, because I don’t think they’re quite retreading Kolin and it’s unclear as of yet how much is JP masterminding everything.
Zero clue as to who decided to have JP talk like a German cartoon here when he’s Russian and otherwise has little accent in-game. Would love it if they just revealed this was part of the ruse he was pulling on Ken and would even be in-character, since JP’s so far been defined as a duplicitous gamemaster, a brutal crimelord masquerading as a benevolent oligarch and someone who quite literally hides his winning hand the whole time he’s fighting you. I could buy that guy putting on a fake accent to trick a foolhardy American into underestimating him just enough to sweeten the pot.
In what is already a multi-layered scheme to ruin this guy and involves weaponizing the public spectacle of Street Fighter tournaments to leverage viral fame and, having a tragic child king beg Ken to fight in the tournament right in the middle of the guy having the worst time trying to manage his relationship with his son. JP is ice cold, I’m loving it. I’m loving this role he’s having as Ken’s biggest personalized enemy.
I’m loving having a Street Fighter villain who actually does have to take the slower route of planning and masterminding and backstabbing his murderous fighting tournament plots instead of just brute-forcing calling the fighters to take shots at him. JP seems significantly underpowered by fighting game villain standards, and this might make him dramatically more interesting as a villain proper.
I’m really liking the lengths that this is taking to ground Street Fighter in the here and now. IV and V took the Alpha route and moved the series onto a sort of comic book fantasyland where they’d never have to grapple with dates and timelines and so they could slide things into prequel territory, where as this seems closer to SF3 in that it wants to place Street Fighter firmly in the Now, with modern concerns and styles and changes to the world shaping the whole thing.
Almost didn’t think Street Fighter would ever bother telling a story with Ken that was actually about Ken and not just his relationship with Ryu. I’ve gone to bat for the guy before but this is easily the most interesting he’s ever been fucking ever, just this massive reversal of fortune grounded entirely in him finally not getting to have it both ways. His lore said he was facing “accusations of orchestrating a criminal plot” but little did we suspect he really DID assist in a huge criminal plot by sheer negligence. Bison would have pulled some ridiculous super brainwashing plot, but all JP had to do was just get Ken into crypto and hook him into a Nigerian Prince scam.
Ken wants a lot of things, he HAS a lot of things to deal with, and he can’t commit to any of them. He wants to be there for his son, but he can’t be there for what his son actually wants to do in life, so he drags his son into an anciliary role in his life instead. He wants to do right by the family name and company, so he blindly follows lifestyle mottos his dad used and tanks a billion dollars into a humanitarian project while constantly rejecting everyone who asks him to slow down or reconsider what exactly he’s sinking that money into.
He wants to use his privileged position to help those in need, so he funds a project intended to help a developing nation by, what else, a fighting tournament, and funds a nation into speedrunning through technological revolutions. He very clearly desperately wants to be a fighter in his prime again and do more than just fight “with paperwork”, and in the whole comic he only really comes alive when he gets to spin kick a drone, and he has this brief little moment when he has to will himself back into Business Mode to complete a deal with the least trustworthy man of all time, and the whole time he’s patently unsure about what he’s doing and the comic calls him out on it.
It calls him out on just how selfless this idea is and how much is it really about him wanting to help Nayshall’s uncertain future, and how much is it him desperately just trying to achieve something, or even deep down how much does he just want to fight again and feel good about something the way he does when he’s fighting, and the comic makes it clear it isn’t just one or the other. Ken has always been the guy who had everything, who had everything Ryu didn’t. In at least two games his plotline is “things are going great for Ken in his home life and company as usual, but he heard Ryu is showing up at the tournament so he’s dropping literally everything to go fight the one guy who makes fighting worthwhile for him”.
This is what happens when Ken’s character catches up to reality, of what it’s like for Ken Masters, immature carefree good-hearted fighting hothead, to try and manage being himself against being a global titan of philantropy and industry (and having had this entire thing thrust onto him from birth) and being a wholly attentive family man all at the same time. Something’s just gotta give. You can’t be as wealthy and connected as Ken and be irresponsive and impulsive and immature, no matter how well-intentioned or good you are. I’m frankly shocked that this went there at all after the trailers mostly implied Ken was just framed injustly.
Street Fighter has never ever even so much as gestured into the idea of Ken’s position and money as anything other than a point of contrast between him and Ryu, so to go from that to this where the whole thing’s predicated on the idea that Ken, while every bit as well-intentioned as ever and certainly a lot more mature than he’s ever been before, fucked up badly and is doing some real damage to people he cares for? That he tried to have everything and now stands on the precipice of having nothing? That’s good shit my dudes.
He hears “You said you were doing this for all the people in this country. So...haven’t you already decided?” and solidifies his decision, while the panel focuses very clearly on him clutching the red headband, the object that’s always been strongly associated with both his and Ryu’s trajectories, the thing that he gave Ryu all the way back in the Alpha series as a reminder to stay focused and not give in to the Satsui no Hadou, the monstrous thing that was tearing Ryu apart and costing him every ounce of concentration to stave off, a thing that’s come to represent their friendship as well as Ryu personally. The thing that he now clutches to stay focused in his decision, before everything goes wrong and he pays the price for it no matter what his intentions were.
This is some primo shit and easily the most I’ve ever been ecstatic about a Street Fighter plotline in a very long time. Seems like they set out hardcore to undo Ken’s long-standing role as a secondary character to Ryu and not rely on their traditionally hackier stuff with superpowered dark sides or Shadaloo plots. Thoroughly impressed and I can’t wait to see more.

Considering it’s humble beginnings, I don’t think Nintendo ever expected Super Smash Bros. to be such an important part of its line-up of games on future consoles. The first game was fairly light on what it contained, but it completely nailed the gameplay from the get-go.
It would have been very easy for Nintendo to make a regular fighting game – the N64 certainly had many failed attempts at the genre – yet HAL went for something new instead, something more geared for 4 players. Players no longer had a health bar, but rather a percentage damage (that could go way above 100%). The higher the number, the more you fly when you get hit.
The object of the game is to knock your opponents off the side of the map (or so far into the sky they launch into space). The main mode pits you against each character one at a time, but mixes things up with some team battles, fighting a horde of weaker opponents and fighting giant characters.
Every character has their own set of moves. The controls are simple (no combos to remember), so your focus in entirely how each of the powers work and the intricacies of how they can be used in multiple situations and alongside other powers.
Each player also has some special stages, such as breaking targets and boarding platforms. You’ll need to use the character’s full move set to complete them, especially if you want a good time.
The campaign ends with a fight against master hand, who does have a health bar, but also a set of moves for you to learn how to avoid. Once you finished, it’s not over, as a new challenger will appear.
While the roster starts with 8 very popular characters from Nintendo’s franchises: Mario, DK, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox and Pikachu, there were four more slots to unlock. When you fulfilled the criteria to unlock, a screen would flash up with “A New Challenger Approaches”. This is sadly something the internet has ruined, as discovering these for yourself is no longer possible – instead, these reveals are left entirely up to trailers. Beat them and you would unlock them to use.
Super Smash Bros. is a wonderful game, but was just the beginning for the franchise, the other games have improved upon it in every way – although the game still has dedicated fans, including those who add new content to the original, with a ton of levels and characters added.
Smash Bros is as unique and essential as any Mario game – especially as its multiplayer ranks up there with GoldenEye’s, Mario Kart’s and Quake II’s. The fact that Smash Bros is still an office lunchtime favourite, almost a year after we first got our hands on it, is testament to its greatness. Do not miss it.

Remake or remaster?
I don’t think this need a remaster due to later games, but it would be nice to have some of the bonus stages in newer games. It should definitely get re-released, though. Another option is that, if Nintendo feel they can’t top Ultimate, the next console’s Smash can be a port of Ultimate with various options (item sets, levels, moves, etc) from previous titles added as alternative ways to play as a sort of combined collection.

Hallo again! (●’◡’●)ノ I’m the Falin anon...maybe I should choose a different name but that’s for another day. And man I’ve been gone for a while. I’ve heard that there’s a Sanrio collab apparently??? WITH EVERYONE???? AND ITS LIMITED TIME?!? Welp there goes my wallet.
Aside from my poor spending habits I’ve just recently caught up on the most recent main story chapter and…well yeah I’m crying. Though it does kinda leave me wondering who the remaining butlers could be since there are only two (?) slots left according to the prophecy. Maybe Zepal (The butler Flure admires) or if Studio Wasabi really wanted to throw us a curve ball, maybe an angel? Ahhh the possibilities are endless!!!

we have no known candidates (for becoming possible butlers) this time, i think. like in the case of villa butlers we did have Teddy + Yuhan (npcs at the time.).
the possibilities really are endless this time! they can do anything! I’m not sure though whether it’s going to be like early next year or later—technically it should be later since we had 2 more butlers that were added this soon.
in case of angels, we will have another angel added! the number of angels (intelligent) will become 4. i wonder what the 4th angel will be like?

the game should be fully voiced! i agree! we deserve this after both games ended this services (T-T) also, how far did you get in the main story of Rhodoknight? i hope the main story ends on a good note. i heard (from jp fans) that the older game mc had a not-so-satisfactory ending in the new game; since the new game is set quite some years after the older one.
unfortunately, I think we won’t get another game from the senjyushi universe again after this; it feels like the story will end for good after this 😭 since both games ended services in the end.
I hope the game generates enough traction that we another game from this same series with the old characters 🙏 (delusional) senjyushi is way too good and has us too emotionally invested to not get another game ✨

VELOCIRAPTOR
this is not a velociraptor
ok: this just isn't that good of a design and its the first one ive outright disliked in a long time. i've generally really liked what the new modeller and designer is doing. it's obviously based on a jurassic park raptor which is not a velociraptor we all know this. obviously this is a cartoon version but it's not even a cartoon version of the right species none of the species's traits have been exaggerated or captured in a stylized manner (like the way the ferret still definitely looks like a ferret despite looking nothing like a real one). like they are calling it the wrong animal and is the first one to be outright mislabeled
aside from the species just being called that for jurassic park reasons, the design is not good . it's naked for one, but the feathers they stuck on it are outright ugly. why are the wing feathers backwards? why are they so obsessed with putting head crests on naked dromaeosaurs? the tailfan is fine. least offensive part of this. WHY ARE THE WINGS BACKWARDS
the pattern is pretty basic compared to the other dinosaurs but i see why: they made the feathers it's own color slot, which i think it could've been better if they hadn't done that (to not draw attention to the way the "feathers" and "skin" are supposed to be made of different material. like how they did the unicorn's fur and mane the same color)
as for the model contruction itself: definitely rushed, but i don't think that's the modeller's fault. they make new animals on a monthly basis + special releases like the mythicals. i don't like how angular the legs are especially on the heels. i can and will get really annoying about the way this game correctly calls them "archosaurs" but also makes them look like this
animations also look pretty rushed, some are obviously broken. i like the ideas behind them though
i don't really have a lot to say it's just a really boring raptor design for a game with a really specific artstyle i generally really like and also it's naked and also it's just a JP 'velociraptor'. i get they designed it this way for recognizability but i think its boring and i hate it
