Lucas and Filoni Tell Us What The ‘Balance Of The Force’ Actually Means

I find it funny how almost everyone, I mean EVERYONE, get's the 'Balance of the Force' thing wrong. The one think that bugs me about my fellow geekdom is how it always seems to look at the films in a literal way to understand it's spirituality. This whole geeky phenomenon of looking at SW as a literal thing is low thinking (i am a geek, but I use the word for people who like to claim that literal understanding of canon facts is somehow knowledge - it is not. It is just memory of simple facts). SW is and always has been a metaphor for an internal state. Balance is not some silly Grey Jedi thing, or some use of both sides for true balanced power. Lucas and Filoni talk about what balance means in about 10,000 online and Blu Ray videos. It's not hard. Just listen to each word carefully. They said it means you balance your understanding of your own selfish (dark) and selfless (light) sides, to chose more selflessness than selfishness to do some good in the world. It's not about using an equal amount of Dark and Light Side "power". Go inside, as Luke tells Rey in TLJ. It's actually so clear and simple. It's fandom's insistence to view it as a superpower that keeps them from hearing (and why Rian Johnson is also a true Lucas Padawan). It's about KNOWING that darkness you are capable of, and using that KNOWLEDGE to chose more light actions. From ancient spirituality to Star Wars, that's exactly what THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL means. It must actually be frustrating for people like Lucas and Filoni who have spent so much time and effort to make this clear, that most of fandom still doesn't get it!
