Vampire to Baby
Tumblr media
Female vampire reader x Hope Mikaelson
Warnings: none
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope runs into Lizzie and Josie's room with Josie as soon as they hear the high-pitched crying of a baby. "What's going on- oh my god" Josie froze under the door frame.
Hope's eyes widen, walking towards where Lizzie is holding a wailing baby girl, close to tears herself as she tries calming the baby down. "Where did you get a baby?" Hope asks the blonde.
"Okay, so don't freak out, but I was experimenting with a spell and..."
Five minutes prior
"What are you planning to do with that anyway?" You look up from your magazine. motioning to the papers splayed out with spell work in progress.
"I want to turn things back in time, like if someone knocks a glass of juice over, the spell reverses it," Lizzie grumbles, the spell not working for the fourth time. She cleans up the spilled water on the ground with a towel.
"Okayyy, fifth time's the charm" Lizzie mumbles before chanting the spell in a different order this time.
"Nothing happened, ughhh" Lizzie groans and throws her head back. Her head snaps back up as soon as she hears the tiniest little whimper coming from where you were lying down on her bed.
She looks over to the bed and lets out an audible gasp. A few seconds later, tears start to run down your small cheeks. She now has a de-aged vampire who so happens to also be her best friend.
"You turned my girlfriend into a baby?!" Hope exclaims, taking a closer look at you.
"Now, don't be mad" Lizzie winces at the look on Hope's face. "It was an accident."
"My vampire girlfriend is now a baby" Hope stated, eyes blazing.
Josie composes herself and walks over to her twin and best friend. "Okay, before anything worse happens, how about we calm her down" Josie nods at you, tears still rolling down your face.
"Don't you think I've been trying to do that? It's not working!" Lizzie tells them while giving a look and bouncing you in her arms.
"Give her over" Hope sighs. And Lizzie happily passes you into the tribrid's arms. As soon as you're rested against her chest, your
"Rude. tell us she's your favorite without telling us" Lizzie crosses her arms.
"Okay, Hope, you look after y/n/n. Lizzie and I will find a way to reverse the spell. Come on" Josie leads her twin over to the desk with littered papers.
Hope nods and clutches you tighter in her hold, walking over to your guys' room across the hall.
"You're a really cute baby, ya know?" Hope coos. You reach up your tiny hand and clutches onto a wave of her hair. She examines you as you play with her hair. You're so tiny and small, and so vulnerable.
She hugs you closer to her, not wanting you near any danger. Since this school is like a magnet for dangerous things.
You blabber incoherent things as you snuggle into the older girl's chest. You like her, she's warm and you feel safe around her.
Hope looks around the room and lands on the cd player on the dresser. You insisted on keeping the player after finding it in a box of old 'junk' Alaric was going to throw away. Plus you had a bunch of cds anyways. And you argue a lot with Lizzie that cds are a better form of music than on a phone, but then again you weren't a child when cds were being used, unlike all of them.
"Hey, you wanna listen to some music?" She asks animaticaly. You gurgle in excitement, and Hope takes that as a yes.
She walks over the wooden dresser and turns the power button then the play button. And in a couple seconds, the intro to 'oops I did it again' plays. That must have been the last cd and song you were listening to. Hope chuckles at how you always blast either this song or 'you give love a bad name' to get her out of bed in the morning.
You giggle and start kicking your legs excitedly, liking the music. Hope chuckles and kisses the top of your head. She then has an idea and starts carefully spinning and dancing around the room to the song with you held in her grasp.
Hope carries you down to the dining hall/room. It's been a couple hours and she's been getting hungry, and she could also tell you're hungry as well.
You hide your face in her chest when someone walks up to you two. "Hey MG" Hope smiles, cradling one of her hands on the back if your head.
"Hey. What's with the baby?" He asks, his eyebrows scrunched together in confusion. "Oh, uh, just babysitting, yeah...um, bye!" Hope comes up with a lie quickly before walking away, eyes widened. For being the one and only tribrid (vamp side not activated yet), she sure sucks at lying.
She walks over to the table of all the trays and places two plates on a tray. As she piles on food onto both the plates, she can feel eyes on her. So she quickly grabs utensils before walking as fast as she can with a baby and a tray of food up to your guys' room.
"Alright, food time" Hope sighs, sitting on the bed, against the headboard with the food in front of her. She grabbed lots of napkins, knowing there's going to be some kind of mess made.
"You look at the plates of food and clap your hands together before reaching towards the fruit cup on one of the plates.
Hope picks the fruit cup and a spoon up and starts to feed you. You munch on the strawberries, watermelon, and grapes happily. She watches as you eat the fruit, using her other hand to feed herself a piece of pizza as well.
Just as she lifted the spoon to feed you a grape, the door slammed open, presenting the twin siphoners. They quickly make their way inside, shutting the door behind them.
"We found a reversal spell" Josie tells hope and starts to explain what it intails.
"Okay, let's do it" Hope gently lifts you up off her lap and into the middle of the bed. You look up at her, confused, as she moves the food tray over to her desk.
She holds out her hands, inviting the two girls to siphon off her. They immediately grasp her hands and start to change the spell. Hope follows with after hearing the verse the first time.
In no time the spell took affect and where there used to be a baby you, is now a full grown vampire you. They all let out a simultaneous sigh of relief the spell worked.
"What the bloody hell happened?" You groan, standing up from the bed.
"Hah, so funny story..." Lizzie scratches the back of her neck.
lizzie’s smile tightened. "well, y/n is quite busy. maybe i should take over."
lizzie’s eyes narrowed. "and what if i am?"
you smirked, turning towards the new student. "do you want to see my favorite part of the school?"
lizzie glanced at you, then back at the new student. "actually, i know a lot about the school too. i can show you some hidden spots."
you smiled, feeling a thrill of anticipation. "great! lead the way, lizzie."
the new student asked you another question, pulling you away slightly. lizzie watched you, her frustration and longing clear. she knew this game had been going on for months, and the fear of making a move was holding you both back.
"is this… me?" you asked, eyes wide with surprise.
hope’s cheeks turned pink as she nodded, her voice almost a whisper. "yeah. i had to mix five different colors to get the right shade for your eyes."
blushing, you looked at her with a mix of curiosity and flattery. "that’s really cool. what’s this for?"
"it’s for my art class," hope replied quickly, her eyes avoiding yours. "i needed a subject."
you smiled, feeling a warm glow at being chosen. "i’m honored that you picked me."
hope’s gaze softened, and she said, almost too softly for you to hear, "why wouldn’t i? you’re beautiful."
your heart skipped a beat at her words, and you thanked her as you handed her back the sketchbook. just then, the bell rang.
"we should get to class," you said, your voice a bit shaky from the unexpected compliment.
then, with a playful grin, you add, "but seriously, hope, i'll be your muse any day. let me know if you ever need me to model for you."
she looked up when she heard the library door creak open for what felt like the hundredth time, and you walked in, smiling warmly as you spotted her.
"hi, josie," you greeted, walking over to her.
josie’s nerves spiked as she managed a shy wave. "hi y/n."
"ready to dive into this?" you asked, taking a seat next to her.
josie nodded vigorously, though she was clearly flustered. "yeah, definitely."
as you both started discussing the exam material, josie found it difficult to focus. every time you looked at her or brushed against her hand, her heart raced and her face turned bright red.
you smiled at her, making josie’s heart flutter even more. "this section is tricky, huh?" you said, completely engrossed in the study session.
josie tried to follow along, but her nerves were almost overwhelming. despite her anxiety, she was thrilled to be spending time with you.
by the end of the session, josie managed a shy smile. "thanks for studying with me," she said softly.
you returned the smile, and josie’s heart skipped a beat. "anytime. see you around?"
Tumblr media
you were busy hanging a string of lights when penelope breezed over, a playful smirk on her lips. "careful with those," she teased, her eyes twinkling. "we wouldn’t want you to make this place look like a christmas disaster."
you glanced up at her, feigning concern. "oh, i’m sure i’ll manage. unless, of course, someone were to help me."
penelope raised an eyebrow, her cheeks warming slightly. "and what makes you think i’d be interested in helping?"
you took a step closer, lowering your voice. "well, if you help me out, maybe i’ll be convinced that you’re not just here to flirt with everyone."
penelope’s eyes widened just a fraction as she inched closer, clearly intrigued. “and what if i do help you?"
you smiled, leaning in so close that your voices mingled. "then i’ll get to see if your charm is as effective up close as it is from afar."
before she could reply, lizzie’s voice rang out from across the gym. "hey, can you two get back to work? we’re on a tight schedule here!"
penelope’s blush deepened as she abruptly turned away, focusing intently on the decorations. you watched her with a smirk, the brief moment of connection now interrupted but definitely memorable.
Summary: When a serious magical threat comes to Mystic Falls and puts Josie and Lizzie at risk, Caroline and Ric send Klaus' ex down to New Orleans to seek safe harbor for the girls with him. Or, what if Y/N went to New Orleans instead of Caroline, and Klaus was free to see them.
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
I chewed my lip as I stared up at the building before me. If this were any other situation, I would've turned on my heel and run by now. But there were two little girls, one on either side of me, who needed me to be strong. This was their best hope of being safe, which meant all of my stuff needed to take a back seat.
I took a deep breath, trying not to let the girls sense just how nervous I was, then started heading for the door to the bar. It was the middle of the day, so hopefully no one would mind me bringing two kids in with me.
Caroline and Ric had trusted me with Josie and Lizzie, and I refused to let them down. Some new supernatural none of us knew existed had come to town and, worse, had started going after the girls. So, I'd sat down with their parents, and we'd figured out a plan to keep them safe: take them to the bigger, badder supernatural who I used to know.
My eyes scanned the bar for the familiar face of Klaus Mikaelson, and after a moment, I found him. He was leaning against the counter talking to the bartender, and I was surprised he couldn't hear my heart beating out of my chest from here. I hadn't seen him in years, and I'd also rejected him the last time I saw him. But he was the best chance the girls had, so I was just going to have to hope he didn't hate me now.
I cleared my throat, shook my nerves off as well as I could, herded the girls into a booth where I could keep an eye on them, then turned to face the bar. I found Klaus already looking at me, his arms crossed and a curious look on his face as he leaned against the counter. A wave of emotions hit me at once, but I shoved back against the feeling, squaring my shoulders and putting one foot in front of the other until I stood in front of Klaus.
"Hello, love," he said, and my heart damn near stopped in my chest. I took a deep breath. "It's good to see you again."
"It's... it's good to see you again, too."
And it was. Most of my friends had been relieved when Klaus finally left town, and they'd freaked out the minute they found out he'd come back to see me. And at the time, I'd convinced myself they were right, and that it was better he was gone. But standing before him now, that slight smirk on his face, I realized I had really, really missed him.
"So what brings you to New Orleans?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. He looked past me to where the girls were playing a clapping game in the booth. "I take it it has something to do with them."
I sighed. "Yeah. Yeah, it does."
"And who's the father?"
Now it was my turn to cross my arms and raise an eyebrow.
"They're actually not mine. But I'd say you don't have a lot of room to judge, considering the reason you moved to New Orleans in the first place."
"Who said I was judging? I was just trying to gauge how jealous I might need to be."
I huffed a laugh, trying and failing to hide my smile by glancing at the ground. Nik grinned at me, and for just a flash of a moment, it was like nothing had changed between us since the last time I'd seen him.
But then I heard Josie and Lizzie behind me, and I remember why I'd come here in the first place. I sighed and met Nik's eyes again.
"I need your help."
His eyebrows immediately drew together, and he straightened up from the bar, taking a half step towards me. The intensity of his worried stare made my heart melt.
"What's wrong, love?"
"There's a new supernatural in town. Or a few new ones, I guess. We're struggling a little bit to deal with them, and they've made Josie and Lizzie their targets. Caroline and Ric are their parents for all intents and purposes, and we sat down and decided our best chance at keeping the girls safe is if I left with them, alone, and came to you."
"And whose idea was that?"
"...Mine. It... actually took a lot of convincing for Ric and Caroline to let me bring them to you."
A hint of a smile flickered across Nic's face as he huffed a barely audible laugh. His beautiful blue eyes met mine with the intensity I'd seen a thousand times for both good and bad moments, and it made my heart race.
"You will always be welcome here, with me. I'll keep the three of you safe."
Relief washed over me. I closed my eyes, taking a minute, and when I opened them again I found Nik still watching me intently. I thought he might lean in for a hug or a kiss or something else, but instead, he just gave me a small smile and nodded in the direction of the girls.
"Mind introducing me?"
The girls absolutely loved Nik from the first moment they met him, and he was nothing but sweet and patient and kind. He made a few absolutely ridiculous jokes that had them falling out of their chairs laughing, and had my heart melting all over again. We left the bar together, the four of us strolling through the streets of New Orleans as Nik led us to his home. He glanced over at me a few times with the roguish smile I'd come to love, and despite the fact that I'd come here on the run to protect the girls, I couldn't help enjoying this moment with him. In different circumstances, it might've just felt right.
"We're almost home, but I just had a thought," said Nik, his arm swinging back and forth with Lizzie's as they marched down the street together. Lizzie and Josie held hands, and I did the same with Josie, making us a little chain. I turned to smile at Nik over the girls' heads.
"And what's that?" I asked. Nik smiled at me, then turned his attention to the girls.
"My favorite ice cream place in the whole of the city is very close to here. Does anyone else feel like we ought to make a pitstop?"
"YES!" the girls screamed in unison. I laughed as Nik stopped abruptly, turning on his heel and then pulling us in the other direction.
"Alright, come on then!"
The girls cheered as they marched after him, and my heart soared as I followed along behind the three of them. I'd gotten to see Nik like this every so often in Mystic Falls, but a lot of our interactions were colored by whatever drama he and his family had going on with my friends and I. Being with him, like this, and seeing him being so amazing with the girls was seriously doing something to me.
"This place really does have the best ice cream," Nik assured me as we stepped inside and joined the line, the girls bouncing excitedly in front of us as we stood shoulder to shoulder. "Hope loves it."
"Hope... how is she? How's... how's Hayley?"
Nik smirked. "They're both good. We've had our rough patches, but Hayley and I have found our rhythm as coparents despite not being together."
I released a breath I hadn't realized I'd been holding, and Nik laughed.
"Now look who's trying to gauge their jealousy."
I rolled my eyes, but couldn't hold back a grin all the same.
"Whatever. But... you're happy? Being a dad, and being here, and... and everything?"
The corner of Nik's mouth quirked up, but the smile didn't reach his eyes.
"Like anything, it's had its ups and downs. But I wouldn't trade Hope for anything in the world."
I nodded, and the two of us fell into comfortable silence as we worked our way through the line. The girls were ecstatic to try their cones, and Nik recommended his favorite flavor to me, which lived up to the hype he'd promised. The four of us wandered slowly the rest of the way to our destination, which turned out to be an absolutely massive compound in the middle of the French Quarter.
Nik pushed open the door and led us inside just as the sun began to set outside. I came to a stop in the beautiful open space just inside the front doors, staring around at it in awe.
"C'mon, love," Nik said gently, resting a hand on my back and guiding me in the direction of the stairs. "Let's get the girls settled in for the night."
I just nodded, putting my focus back on the girls as we followed Nik through the massive compound. He pushed open one of the many doors along the second floor, letting us into a bedroom with two beds. I even spotted a few kids books on the shelves to one side of the room.
I slid my eyes to Nik with a raised eyebrow, but he just shrugged.
"For Hope, and any friends she might decide to bring over when the time comes. No reason to not be prepared, especially since we have the space for it." The corner of my mouth tugged up into a smile, that warm feeling spreading in my chest again. "I'll bring a few of her pajamas in, they should fit these two alright."
"Thanks."
"Of course, love."
Between the two of us, Nik and I managed to get the girls settled down and in bed in under an hour. They'd had a long, tiring day, after all, and if I weren't practically jittering with nerves after the afternoon I'd spent with Nik I'm sure I would've been right behind them.
Instead, I found myself following him after we closed the door to the girls' room, going who knows where in this massive house in his new life since he'd left Mystic Falls. After a few moments, I couldn't really take the silence anymore, so I spoke up.
"Where are the rest of the Mikaelsons?" I asked, my voice thankfully even. "I'd expected to see at least one of the siblings by now."
Nik turned to give me a little smirk over his shoulder, and I hated that he could probably hear my heart race.
"They're busy with other things for the night. And Hope is with Hayley having a mother-daughter weekend away from everything. It's just us, tonight."
My heart sped up even more, although that shouldn't have been possible. After a moment, Nik led me into the kitchen and headed straight for the refrigerator. I took a seat at one of the high stools at the counter, watching him as he moved.
"I assume you still like hot chocolate more than most other drinks?" asked Nik without turning around. I smiled.
"Absolutely. I know it's been a little while, but come on Nik, I'm not a completely different person."
He paused to give me a smile over his shoulder, then continued in his hot chocolate preparations. I scratched at something on the counter while he worked, trying to get up the courage to talk about all the million things hanging in the air before us. Finally, I cleared my throat and forced myself to look up, watching Nik's back as I spoke.
"Thank you for this, by the way. For taking us in, even after... Well, even after I told to leave me and Mystic Falls."
Nik sighed, bringing our two mugs of hot chocolate over and setting them down on the counter before walking around to stand in front of me. We were barely an inch apart, but he didn't make a move to close the distance anymore. I'd set a boundary the last time I'd seen him, and he clearly had no intention of crossing it.
"I will always be here for you if you need me, love. If you seek me out for refuge, or to change your mind and take me up on my offer to show you the world, or even because I make the best hot chocolate in the entire world and you just can't live without it... I'll be waiting."
I stared up at Nik, a slight twinkle in his eye, as I fought to keep tears out of my own. He'd truly caused so many problems in Mystic Falls. My friends' dislike-to-hate of him made sense. But he'd always been sweet and funny, patient and kind and understanding, with me. If I was totally honest with myself, I'd been starting to fall in love with him before I'd decided to side with my friends and push him away.
"Don't cry, love. It's alright," he said, his eyes scanning my face. I hiccupped, the tears finally starting to fall, a combination of all the different emotions and stressors of my past few days coming together and overwhelming me at once. I'd held it together for the girls, but now they were in bed and taken care of, so I could safely fall apart.
I leaned forward, falling into Nik's chest, and he wrapped his arms tightly around me the moment I did.
"It's alright. You're safe with me."
That brought on a whole new wave of tears, not just for the stress of the day, but for everything I'd lost with Nik, too. He just held me tighter, rubbing soothing circles on my back as I let it all out, then slowly started to calm down.
I pulled back slightly once I managed to get ahold of myself. One of Nik's hands stayed on my arm, and he brought his other hand up to gently cup my face, wiping away a few of the tears with his thumb.
"What can I do, love? Tell me how I can help you and I'll do it."
I choked back another sob, this one turning into a half-laugh.
"You've already done enough, Nik. More than enough. It's just... it's been such a long day. I feel like I've been barely holding back a complete stress breakdown for like a week, and I always had the girls with me so I had to keep it together..."
"Well then, why don't we get you settled into a room so you can get some sleep, hm? We can always talk more in the morning."
Nik started to move to help me off the stool and up to bed, but I stopped him, hands resting on his biceps. He raised an eyebrow at me but didn't move away.
"No, Nik. I don't want to talk tomorrow, I need to say this. I... I love you."
Any hint of humor or lightness dropped off Nik's face, replaced by completely serious shock. My heart was racing out of my chest, and I knew he could hear it, but I pushed on anyway.
"I think I was falling in love with you before, and I didn't want to admit it to myself. But being with you here, now... it feels right. There are a bunch of powerful murderers chasing me, trying to hurt two kids whose parents have trusted me, exclusively, with their safety, and I'm in a strange city far from anywhere I've ever called home. But for some reason I just feel... happy. Happy to see you again, happy to spend time with you, about a thousand times calmer than I was without you. You feel like home, Nik, and I love you. I just... that just feels like something you should know."
Nik's eyes had been scanning and searching my face intently the entire time I'd been talking, the slightest hint of wetness gathering in his own eyes. A smile tugged at the corner of his mouth once I'd finished speaking, and he brought his hand back up to cup my face, his thumb brushing lightly over my cheek.
"I don't think I've made it any secret how I feel about you, love," he said, voice soft and tender. "But in case you need to hear it again, I love you. Always and forever."
A few tears managed to sneak out and down my cheeks again, but this time I had a smile on my face. Nik's expression mirrored my own.
"Once... once all of this is over, do you think... well, maybe I could come back here. To New Orleans, once the girls are safe back home. That is, if... if your offer to follow you to New Orleans still stands from the first time you extended it?"
Nik beamed back at me. "I can honestly tell you that absolutely nothing would make me happier."
My smile grew to the point of pain as I stared up at Nik, a light in his eyes that I'd missed much more than I'd realized. I leaned forward just slightly, Nik mirroring my move as I glanced at his lips. One corner of his mouth rose higher in the troublemaking smirk that always made my heart race before he closed the rest of the distance between us, his lips meeting mine, soft at first and then with the same urgency pulsing in my heart.
I'd kissed him before, but it had always been tempered by concern for my friends, and about what they'd think. But this time, as fireworks exploded in my chest and thousands of butterflies took off in my stomach, I couldn't bring myself to care.
I was safe and happy in the arms of the man I loved, kissing him senseless. I'd missed out on a lot of times like this, but from now on, I didn't intend to let anything keep me from spending every second I could just like this, friends and insane supernatural threats be damned. Always and forever.
Your yandere daughter Hope Mikaelson competes with Lizzie Saltzman, because she thinks her mother is better than Lizzie's mother, Caroline.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You treat your daughter Hope's friends Lizzie and Josie like your own daughters. Gemini sees you as their second mother. But Hope always argues that you are a better mother than any mother and even Caroline. A fight broke out one afternoon while the girls were playing in the garden.
"My mom is the best."
"Our mother, Caroline, is a good mother."
"Lizzi please stop."
"Shut up Joise."
"My mom is the most perfect mom. Even more perfect than Aunt Caroline."
"Girls, please don't fight."
"But mom. You're the most perfect mom."
"Honey. Everyone's mom is the perfect mom for themselves. Please don't argue about it. Peace please."
The two girls, albeit reluctantly, shook hands and reconciled.
BLOOD LIKE POISON (III)- LEGACIES
Tumblr media
Summary: Faith Mikaelson has always felt different from her sister. She felt as if there was ominous inside of her that she was sure Hope didn't feel. After losing their parents the two siblings became a lot closer. Whether it was the fact that they didn't want to risk losing each other as well or because they realized that they only had each other left, they did everything they could to protect each other. But things get a lot more difficult when a creature named Malivore starts sending monsters to the Salvator boarding school which forces the students to fight the monsters in order to protect themselves. During this inevitable battle, Faith finds someone who she ends up making an unexpected connection with and she finds out that she may not be as alone as she originally thinks.
"ALRIGHT GATHER TOGETHER," Dorian said during one of their classes. Everyone then joined hands. Faith was to Josie's left, while Lizzie was to her right. Hope was two seats down from her sister's left. "Chain spells are about the fluid movement of energy from one witch to witch. Where's Penelope Park?" Dorian asked stopping in between Lizzie and Josie.
"Um, lady cramps, Mr. Williams," Lizzie told him making Faith smirk in amusement.
"Sorry, I asked." He said before continuing his teaching. "A disharmonious group makes for an uneven flow." Some people tried to stifle their laughter at the unintended joke, but failed; including Faith, Lizzie, and Josie. Hope just rolled her eyes at their childish behavior. "Okay..." Then a letter flew in and Dorian grabbed it.
"Uh-oh, who's in trouble with the headmaster?" Josie asked.
"Probably the people who started a rumble with the local high school," Hope said giving Lizzie a look.
"Well, we did do something bad too, Hope," Faith whispered leaning closer to her sister to not be heard by Lizzie and Josie. Hope rolled her eyes muttering something under her breath.
"Lizzie Saltzman, Josie Saltzman. And babies make four." Dorian told them reading the letter. "Off you go." The girls give each other a confused look.
"THIS MAKES NO SENSE DAD. Why are we being punished?" Lizzie asked irritated as they followed Alaric through the library.
"Because you started a brawl at a charity football game that risked exposing what we really do here," Alaric explained.
"Well, you weren't mad last night," Lizzie argued.
"I was mad last night. My undying love for my daughters just happened to trump my rage. I volunteered everyone in the game, so stop complaining." Alaric said as they stopped walking. "You're lucky that it's just community service and not actual jail time."
"Can I at least offer my rebuttal in my defense, if it pleases the court?" Lizzie asked dramatically. Alaric crosses his arms but listens. "First of all, I was provoked. My response was totally proportional considering the levels of abuse I was forced to endure." Hope chuckled in amusement at what she was saying. "And secondly... if anyone should take the blame, it's Josie." She finished making Josie give her an incredulous look as did Faith.
"What?" Josie questioned, betrayal written on her face.
"I'm sorry. I totally cracked under the cross, but if you had just let Kaleb catch the ball—"
"You'd still be in trouble," Alaric said breaking up their bickering.
"But nice job throwing your sister under the bus," Hope said.
"Yeah, Lizzie not cool." Faith agreed.
"Thank you, Hope and Faith," Josie said thanking the girls for defending her. Though that thanks was mostly directed at Hope considering she never defends Josie. But Faith would always defend Josie no matter what and she knew this. Faith would always defend Lizzie too, but in this case, she was the one in the wrong. Lizzie gave a shocked look to Josie at her thanking Hope.
"Speaking of, the bus leaves in ten minutes, and I expect all four of you to be on it working together today, harmoniously and without drama," Alaric told them sternly. "End of debate."
"We weren't even at the game. Why are we being punished?" Hope asked. Faith already knew what they were in trouble for.
"You two know what you did," Alaric said giving the girls a look. "Alright, now, go, all of you. Come on. Faith you wait here I have something to give you." Alaric said pointing to Faith. Josie and Lizzie left but not before giving Faith a questioning gaze. She just shrugged in response not knowing what Alaric needed from her either.
"Seriously?" Hope questioned Alaric.
"What part of what I said needs translating?"
"I want to help you with research."
"Dorian has a master's degree in library science," Alaric said, while Faith just waited patiently. "I think the adults have it covered."
"That's not fair," Hope said walking closer to Alaric. "You only play by the grown-up rules when you don't need something from me."
"Hope, seriously, it's the least we can do after what we did with Landon," Faith said looking at her sister.
"I am spinning right now, Hope. And I can't drag you or anyone else any further into this until I figure out what's going on, okay?" Alaric said. "So right now, I need you to be a kid keeping a dragon-sized secret today until I get some answers." Hope gave him an incredulous look. "Understood?"
"Yeah. Fine." Hope said reluctantly. Alaric then turned to Faith and walked over to her. He placed something in her hands. Faith looked down and saw a small bag with something inside it. She opened it to see the calming herbs she used to take to help keep her anger and sadness in control.
"I don't... need these anymore," Faith said looking up at him.
"Faith, just in case, take them. Okay?" Alaric asked. Faith thought about it and nodded muttering an 'okay' before taking off to leave with her sister. She put the bag with the herbs in her pocket, making a mental note to store them in her room later for safekeeping.
"Make sure you take those," Hope told her sister continuing to look straight ahead while they were walking to the bus.
"I know, I will," Faith said reassuring her sister.
"SO WHAT DID YOU GUYS DO?" Lizzie asked as they were getting out of the bus. "My dad never gets mad at you guys. You're the prodigal daughters." Lizzie said bitterly making Faith slightly roll her eyes. "Must have been juicy." The girls got off the bus.
"Sorry, no time for girl talk. Public service awaits." Hope replied bluntly.
"Alright, listen up." Dorian starts. "It's a beautiful day. You have options: litter, weeds, graffiti. Your choice." He finished, handing Kaleb a trash grabber. He snatched it from Dorian reluctantly.
"It's bad enough we get punished while the humans get a pass, but there ain't no way in hell I'm picking up their garbage," Kaleb said trying to hand Lizzie the trash grabber she put her hands up.
"Uh, I don't do trash either," Lizzie said.
"I love trash, as of this moment," Hope said grabbing the trash grabber she then turned to her sister. "Faith, join me?" Faith nodded grabbing the same device Hope had from Dorian, and they both started to walk away.
"Perf. It suits you, Hope." Lizzie said making Faith and Hope turn around and glare at her. "Looks like we're scrubbing paint today," Lizzie told her sister.
"Dad told us to work together, okay, harmoniously," Josie argued.
"Yeah, and he also said without drama, and I am feeling a rage attack coming on, so I will be remaining drama-free over by that wall of graffiti," Lizzie said. "Are you coming or not?"
"I don't know, Lizzie, is there another bus you want to throw me under?" Josie asked rhetorically walking away and to the opposite side of Lizzie, while Hope and Faith watched their interaction.
"Fine, Daddy's girls," Lizzie said bitterly making Hope smirk a little. "Anyone else?" They then started to walk in the opposite direction towards the graffiti wall. "Get the lead out MG." MG walked off turning and giving Josie, Faith, and Hope an apologetic look before leaving again with everyone else but the three girls. Josie and Faith sighed.
AFTER A WHILE OF PICKING UP TRASH Hope spoke up,
"You have a future in waste management." She said with a small smile.
"Cleaning up messes is kind of my thing," Josie replied. Faith understood what she meant. Lizzie makes big messes when she's feeling very strong emotions and needs a release. Faith and Josie occasionally help her get through it and clean up the mess together.
"Well, your sister is kind of a dumpster fire," Hope said.
"Seriously, Hope?" Faith questioned. "At least make an attempt to be polite."
"Why do you always pick fights?" Josie asked her. "We've known each other a decade and any time you have the chance, you poke. Faith doesn't, so why do you?"
"You guys do your fair share of poking," Hope said annoyed.
"Yeah, in retaliation to your pokes," Josie explained. "And with you spending so much time with my dad and keeping secrets..."
"We're not keeping secrets." Hope and Faith said at the same time.
"Oh, yeah? What happened when you went to go find Landon Kirby? And Faith what did my dad give you when we left? It must've been important if he didn't want to give it to you in front of the rest of us." Hope and Faith started walking faster in a different direction hoping to evade the girl's questions.
"Nothing happened," Hope replied.
"Nothing important." Faith retorted at the same time as her sister.
"Something clearly did happen. Rafael never showed up at school, Faith, you haven't talked to us since you've been back, and my dad was rattled, so why won't you just tell me?"
"Because there's nothing to tell. Aah!" Faith looked at her sister to see she stabbed herself in the foot with the trash grabber she then grimaced and walked over to her.
"Oh, my god," Josie exclaimed seeing what happened.
"Aah! Ow," Hope said with a look of pain.
"Are you okay? I mean, what should I do?" Josie asked crouching down beside Hope's foot.
"Let's just help her pull it out," Faith told Josie.
"What?" Josie questioned in disbelief.
"I can heal myself. Pull it out." Hope ordered. Josie then started to pull it out with both hands grunting in struggle; Hope wincing in pain, but she still couldn't seem to pull it all the way.
"Move over," Faith ordered Josie. She moved out of the way and Faith stood in front of her sister pulling the object out easily with one hand.
"Ow!"
"You poked yourself," Josie told Hope with a large smile. Then all three girls burst into laughter.
"Shut up," Hope said still chuckling.
AFTER A WHILE WHEN THE GIRLS FILLED THEIR garbage bags they started stacking them on top of each other. All of a sudden Josie clutched her stomach and doubled over in pain groaning.
"You ok, Jo?" Faith asked worriedly.
"Yeah, everything ok?" Hope asked sounding concerned as well.
"Yeah, I just think that that's making me a little nauseous," Josie answered looking behind Faith and Hope making them turn their heads to see M.G. making out with Dana.
"Huh," Hope muttered. "Didn't see that coming."
"Gross." Faith mumbled scrunching up her nose.
"It's simple math. M.G. has the hormones of a teenager and the impulse control of a preschooler." Josie explained making Hope chuckle. "He also always goes for the wrong kinds of girls."
"Given my last crush, I can't judge," Hope said as they began walking.
"Well, my last crush was actually Satan incarnate," Josie said and Faith vigorously nodded making Hope chuckle. "That is, I guess unless you count..." Josie trailed off.
"Who?" Hope inquired. Faith knew she meant Rafael. Josie looked to Faith who just shrugged as if to say 'you decide if you want to tell her'.
"Never mind. It really doesn't matter anymore." Josie dismissed. "Lizzie has dibs."
"Dibs?" Hope questioned. "On Rafael? She always calls dibs. When's it gonna be your turn?"
"It just is what it is," Josie muttered. Faith stayed quiet agreeing with what Hope was saying. Lizzie did always call dibs on boys and that wasn't really fair on Josie considering she never got a chance to see if she liked anyone.
"Right, well, that doesn't really make it right." Hope stated causing Josie to stop walking and give her a look. Hope and Faith stopped walking too. "Your dad knows we used black magic. That's why we're in trouble." Hope half-lied purposefully leaving out the part about Landon and the death spell. "Don't worry we didn't tell him that you helped us with the spell." Hope quickly added.
"Thank you," Josie said looking at both Hope and Faith.
"No need for thanks, Josie." Faith said with a small smile.
"And Landon and Rafael took off together," Hope said. " Landon told me he didn't know why he stole the knife. But then he lied about having it, so I don't know what to believe. Then he wrote me and Faith these letters and mine was... I don't know, sweet."
"Lizzie's... sensitive." Josie started wanting to open up to Hope as she did with her. "Our mom is going on these really long recruitment missions recently. That's why she's extra testy. She just really misses her."
"We know the feeling," Hope spoke softly with a small smile glancing at Faith.
"Yeah." Faith spoke just as softly giving her sister a sad smile. Hope started walking again and Faith and Josie followed.
"I remember how your mom used to come by the school. We all used to say how beautiful she was." Josie said.
"She was," Faith said.
"Yeah." Hope agreed.
"We really should have sent you flowers or something, Hope," Josie said guiltily.
"Huh?" Faith questioned in confusion. "But I thought that you gave her a gift too," Faith said remembering how kind and comforting Lizzie and Josie were to her, and the flowers they gave her which were her favorite; Cherry Blossoms, and a gift basket. Then she remembered her sister getting flowers from them too. Josie looked at her with the same guilty expression as before shifting her gaze to the ground.
"They did," Hope told her sister referring to Josie and Lizzie. "Your dad signed your names. It was obvious." Faith understood that they gave her something but not Hope and she couldn't help but wonder if that was Lizzie's idea.
"Okay. We definitely deserve a little bit of poking." Josie said making Hope laugh. "I wonder where the boys are right now."
"There's this spell that our Aunt Freya taught us," Hope said looking at Faith. "It's kind of like a full-immersion video chat."
"Oh. That spell." Faith said in realization.
"Okay, but don't we need something of Landon's to..." Josie trailed off as Hope pulled out Landon's letter. "Is that the letter?" Josie asked.
"You can't tell your dad," Hope said.
"Yeah..." Faith told her. "They don't teach this in school."
Josie nodded and smiled. "This is the kind of secret that I can get behind." Hope smiled while Faith smirked. The three started performing the spell joining hands. Josie siphoned from Hope and Faith. Hope and Faith were able to see Landon and Rafael in the woods and Landon spotted them with a look of confusion on his face.
"Hope? Faith?" He questioned. They gave him a small smile before the scene in front of them disappeared and they were back with Josie who bent over and held her stomach in pain again. Faith looked at her worried and put a hand on her shoulder.
"Jo," Faith began. "What's wrong?"
"This is twin pain. Somethings wrong. I think Lizzie's in trouble." Josie grunted out. Faith looked at Hope with a worried expression.
"Let's go tell Dorian." Faith suggested earning nods from the girls. They went to find Dorian who was sitting at a table. "We need to leave."
"I'm sorry, I can't let you leave," Dorian said.
"No, I need to go home to see my sister," Josie said firmly.
"Your dad's with your sister. And I'm under strict orders to keep you here." Dorian told them.
"What? Why?" Josie asked.
"Yeah, what are you keeping us here for?" Faith added.
"And why are you researching that?" Hope questioned looking at Dorian's book that was open to a page about gargoyles. Dorian quickly closed his book with a sigh and told us what happened with Lizzie.
THEY LEFT AND WENT BACK to the Salvatore Boarding school when they entered Josie called, "Lizzie?"
"I'll check the library," Hope said.
"Yeah, I'll go too," Faith offered. Hope nodded at her and they left to check the library. They were in complete silence until a voice spoke from behind scaring them.
"What are you guys doing here?"
"Ah!"
"Oh, my god." The two girls yelped in fear.
"You scared us." Faith said breathing out a breath of relief when she saw Alaric there.
"Dorian was supposed to keep you away," Alaric said.
"He tried. He lost," Faith told him. "But here. Killing gargoyles 101. He thought you could translate it." She said giving the book to Alaric.
"Gaulish. Son of a..." Alaric trailed off. Hope and Faith gave him questioning looks before he looked back down to the book.
"So are we on our own, or did the Gauls provide clear instructions?" Hope asked impatiently.
"In a nutshell, it says hit hard, repeat as needed," Alaric replied before they heard the Gargoyle let out a roar.
"Is that...?" Faith inquired referring to the Gargoyle.
"Yeah," Alaric said. "Listen, it poisoned Lizzie. I'm guessing to get my attention. Then it attacked me and took the knife."
"The knife? The dragon knife?" Hope asked incredulously.
"And you're still breathing?" Faith added.
"Oh, I have a theory about that," Alaric mumbled.
"Well, save it," Hope started. "Because we had to take down that containment spell to get inside the school, meaning our monster can get out."
"A containment spell?" Alaric asked. Faith nodded. "Lizzie wanted to make sure whatever attacked her didn't escape into the world. Good girl." Alaric walked over to a table and put the book down. "Alright, well, guess we better find it," He said picking up an axe. "Before it makes the evening news. So how'd you guys take the containment spell down?"
Before Hope or Faith had the chance to speak a voice did, "They didn't," Josie spoke up walking towards them. "I did. And I have questions." She grabbed the axe from Alaric.
ALARIC, HOPE, FAITH, AND JOSIE walked into a room in search of Emma
"Emma?" Alaric called. "Emma." Emma opened the door in front of them and put a finger to her lips in a 'be quiet' motion. They all heard heavy footsteps and growling so they turned their heads to see the Gargoyle at the top of the steps. It opened its wings and let out a growl before flying down the steps and lunging at Hope making her fall down. It was going to stab her with the knife. Faith quickly leaps forward about to help her sister but Alaric is closer and quicker and jumps in front of Hope.
"Dad!" Josie shouted.
"No!" The Gargoyle stopped its movements; the knife being inches away from Alaric's chest.
Faith held her hand out to Hope who quickly took it pulling herself up while they all stared in shock at what was happening before their eyes. Josie moves as quietly as possible behind the Gargoyle before striking it with the sword making it let out a shriek. It angrily turns toward Josie about to attack her but Alaric hits it with his axe.
"Fluctus inpulsa." Hope chants causing the Gargoyle to drop the knife. "Faith, Josie, help me." She orders. Faith and Josie quickly walk over to her and they join hands; Josie in between Faith and Hope.
"How?" Josie asked.
"Just repeat after me," Hope said.
"Got it," Faith replied.
"Fluctus impulsa." Hope started. Faith and Josie quickly repeated after. "Fluctus inpulss. Flucus inpulsa. Flucus inpulsa. Flucus inpulsa. Flucus inpulsa. Flucus inpulsa." They finished which made the Gargoyle burst into small rocks. They let go of their hands.
"Nice job." Hope threw over her shoulder to all of them.
"How could you jump in front of her like that?" Josie demanded with tears in her eyes. "You could have died, Dad."
"Honey, I knew it wouldn't kill me, because my research said so," Alaric said. Josie stormed away.
"HOW'S LIZZIE?" FAITH ASKED WORRIEDLY.
"Recovering quickly, thanks to her sister."
"So, how did you know the Gargoyle wouldn't kill you?" Hope asked.
"Gargoyles are protectors," Alaric answered. "And folklore tells a tale of a Gargoyle who once protected a small settlement in France whose villagers revered a powerful relic. A knife."
"Our knife?" Faith questioned.
"As the story goes, the Gargoyle loved the humans he protected so much, he vowed never to harm humanity." He explained. "Instead, he chose to fight evil on their behalf."
"Us being the evil ones in this scenario," Hope asked referring to her and her sister. "Josie, Lizzie." She continued.
"In its mind, yes," Alaric said. "I realized when it didn't hurt me before... it saw me as the one who needed protection."
"I'm not sure that knowing that will make them feel any better." Faith spoke up.
"I should get back to the girls," Alaric muttered walking towards the door.
"Wait." Hope stopped him. "One more thing. You're always telling us that we need to work together. To put our own feelings aside for the school, and for the community. I know I haven't always listened to you with that kind of stuff, but I'm starting to think that it's actually pretty good advice, so... maybe you should take it. Because if you want me and the twins to get along, for them to be happy, for the school to be safe... These secrets are gonna tear us all apart."
"She's right." Faith agreed. "Everyone deserves to know what's happening so they can protect themselves. Be prepared for whatever's coming through those doors next." Alaric looked to be deep in thought about what they were telling him.
"IF YOU'D ASKED ME A WEEK AGO..." Alaric started at the assembly they were having. "I would have told you I knew the difference between myth and fact. I would have said that supernaturals were limited to the species under this roof. I would have said that folklore and fairytales were just stories. But I can no longer say that any of that's true. 'Cause just a few days ago, we were confronted by the existence of a dragon." Murmurs spread throughout the room. "And then, today, our campus was terrorized by a Gargoyle come to life. Some of us... were forced to fight. We won. This time. They were drawn here by a knife that went missing earlier this week. And for whatever reason, these creatures consider us to be the enemy. In their minds were the villains because we wouldn't give them what they wanted. We don't even know why they want it. But we're gonna find out. I can't say for sure what their true intentions are. I can't say there won't be more attacks. That's why I'm telling you this. To warn you. To ask you to look out for each other. To do what's best for one another. Because we're more than just a school. We're family. And we will stand together, we will fight together, and we will win or lose this battle together, no matter what comes next."
FAITH KNOCKED ON THE DOOR TO JOSIE and Lizzie's room. Lizzie opened it and smiled when she Faith.
"I need to talk to you guys about something." Faith stated walking into the dorm.
"What is it," Josie asked sitting up on her bed and patting the space beside her inviting Faith to sit down. Lizzie sat on the other side of Josie,
"Well, it's about why I've kinda been avoiding you," Faith started when she saw their full attention on her she continued. "Well... It happened again. I—I lost control and it happened." Josie and Lizzie gave each other a look knowing what she was talking about.
"Oh, Faith," Lizzie muttered softly.
"Why do you think it happened? After all this time?" Josie asked.
Faith shrugged, "I don't know. But your dad gave me those herbs that might help it again."
"Why didn't you tell us?' Lizzie asked.
"Well, I guess I was just sort of embarrassed about it," Faith said sheepishly. "I mean I thought it was getting better and for it to just come out of nowhere like this. No one else has this problem, so I felt weak in a way. Like I was too weak to be able to handle my emotions properly that they just ended up spiraling out of control and consuming me." Faith sighed.
"Listen, Faith, you don't have to be embarrassed about it, and you're not weak. You're the strongest person I know. Even after everything you've been through you still keep that same bright smile on your face and I envy you for that. Being able to overcome the pain just to make others and yourself smile." Josie told her. "Believe it or not but you're pretty awesome to be able to do that."
"She's right, Faith, and you're like a sister to us— you are a sister to us. So you should never feel the need to hide these types of things from us. Because we will always be by your side there to listen." Lizzie added with a smile. Faith smiled softly as well very appreciative of Josie and Lizzie. Her heart warming in her chest. They truly were great, and she didn't know what she would do without them.
"Now how about we talk about—" Lizzie spoke suddenly.
Faith groaned and quickly stood up walking towards the door. "No!"
"Oh, Faith come back!" Lizzie pleaded. "You don't even know what I was gonna say!"
"Yes, I do. I know you well enough to know that you were gonna say 'let's talk about boys'. You know what Lizzie? I'm actually really tired." Faith said stopping by the door. She looked to Josie who had a slight smile on her face. She knew that if she left the conversation like this Lizzie would want to talk about boys with Josie which would be awkward since she has a crush on Rafael. "Aren't you tired, Josie?" Josie looked confused for a moment but eventually caught on.
"Yeah—yeah, I am," She mumbled quickly.
"But—" Lizzie started.
"Big spell today," Faith cut Lizzie off. "Takes a lot outta ya'."
"Yeah, it really does." Josie faked a yawn.
"Oh, come on I'm the one who almost died!" Lizzie exclaimed exasperatedly.
"Then you must be super fatigued too. Goodnight, Liz," Faith said ignoring Lizzie's protest. "Night, Jo. Don't keep Josie up Lizzie! Remember she did help save your life so she needs all the sleep she can get to replenish herself." She then walked out of the door and to her and Hope's dorm for some shut-eye.
47 - Vampire Friends
Tumblr media
Part 48
Family is More than Blood
@secretdreamlandmentality
Missy’s pov
Walking through the hallway of Mystic high standing beside my boyfriend’s locker waiting to leave when he got out of school for the day. Hearing footsteps and a familiar heartbeat rhythm that I would know anywhere coming towards me. “M & M, what are you doing here?”
“I wanted to see you, E. Hey, you okay?.” I admit pushing my body away from the lockers and he smiled seeing me wearing one of his sweatshirts that he had left in my room back at the mansion.
He shifted from foot to foot telling me he was nervous when he wouldn’t look me in the eye. “Uh yeah. Just got into a fight with one of my former teammates in class a minute ago.”
“What was the fight over?” I tilted my head to the side.
He shook his head avoiding my gaze still. “Please don’t think less of me because it was about…you.”
“Me. Why me?” I questioned him.
Ethan finally looked into my eyes. “You’re kidding right. You’re amazing and not just because you are a vampire and a witch.”
“Ethan…” I smiled at the human boy feeling my turn red at his words. I didn’t care if he was human and I was supernatural. That wasn’t what drew me to him, what drew me in was how nice he is to people.
He shoved his hands inside the pocket of his gray sweatshirt he wore. “Dennis was talking crap about you. He said you were a slut and the only reason I was with you was because your family is rich. Even though that’s not the case at all.”
“Hmm, I’m glad you stuck up for me.” I nodded in understanding.
He corrected me. “Andrea, Lizzie and your Uncle Klaus showed up too. Andrea probably would have thrown Dennis like a rag doll if they hadn’t got there sooner.”
“She does have the family werewolf temper that’s for sure. But she’s like every member of the Mikaelson and Lane family. Just doing what we can to look out for each other.” I sighed where we started heading to go get into his truck.
He walked closely beside me letting some silence fall upon us briefly. “So…have you given what I asked anyone thought after talking with your other Headmistress?”
“Ethan, I really don't want this to come up in every conversation we have now. We're already taking a big risk being together as is.” I sighed heavily, sending him a slight glare.
The boy gave me a confused glance. “What kind of risk? You already showed yourself that you can handle not feeding from me.”
“My parents are fine with us being together. But our former headmaster Alaric Saltzman is afraid that if humans and the supernatural date bad things could happen like he had seen before his daughters were born. If he saw us together like this he wouldn't be happy.”
“Missy, what are you doing here?” We paused in our tracks when I looked over my shoulder seeing Josie coming around the corner.
“Hanging out with my boyfriend. Why are you here?”
“I saw what happened on the football field. So I thought I should check on Ethan.” She answered.
Someone else could be heard where the three of us all saw MG coming towards us with Dr. Saltzman on his heels. “Jo, Missy. Andrea told me what happened.”
“Does everyone need to know about our personal lives!” Throwing my hands up away from my sides the veins were appearing underneath my eyes out of frustration.
Dr. Saltzman came over to me and Ethan. “Melissa, do you want to explain to me why you’re clearly dating a human?”
“Uh sir…it’s because I know that she’s supernatural.” Ethan stepped forward looking at the former headmaster of our school.
Alaric moved his gaze from all the teenagers around him. “Find an empty classroom now. We need to talk all of us.” He instructed pushing us into the nearest room and locking the door.
“Dr. Saltzman, we shouldn’t have to compel him.” MG first started the conversation.
Dr. Saltzman answered him. “It's about what's best for Ethan.”
“Is it? Or is it more like keeping our secrets safe at his expense?” He made a face.
Josie replied. “Burdening Ethan with it won't end well, either. Dad's right. We can't risk it.”
“No offense, Jo, but what are you really worried about risking?” MG asked.
“Do I get a vote?” Ethan spoke to sitting on the couch with me.
Alaric looks in our direction. “Well, this isn't a democracy. But we can hear what you have to say.”
“I think it's really cool that MG has superpowers, because I already know about Missy so it's not that different.” My boyfriend began explaining by taking my hand in his. “She told me everything about the school and her family so I understand why you'd want to keep that a secret. And I'm happy to keep it.”
Alaric nodded. “Yes, I believe you. But I made your mother a promise that I'd look after you and keep you safe. MG? Please compel him. That's my decision.”
“Compel me to do what?” Ethan got to his feet when MG came closer to him.
MG grabbed his shoulder with me just sitting there hands clasped together in my lap. “There's no reason to be scared. You had a bad day. You got cut from the football team and you're mad about it, so you went home after gym class. But you're gonna wake up tomorrow feeling better. And you're gonna find what makes you happy that's not football, then go after it. But you're not going to remember this conversation or anything that happened with us today or what happened between you and Missy.”
Ethan paused for a second before answering. “I feel better already. I don't remember a thing.”
“So you don't remember the thing you're not supposed to remember?” Josie made a face.
MG glanced at Alaric then to me. “Is there any possibility that you told his mom about vervain?”
“Son of a bitch….Melissa why are you smirking?” Alaric noticed my current expression that crossed my face.
I had a huge smirk on my lips like I had seen my father have growing up when his enemies thought they could beat him. “Because I blocked your compulsion. You see I only compelled him once as my own way of protecting him.”
“You’re talking about how I can remember your family of supernaturals and the school everytime I see you.” Ethan put the piece together
Lowering my gaze to the tile floor I prayed for his response. “Please don’t be angry with me, E.”
“I get it, M & M. I get why you were afraid of me being in danger.” My boyfriend made a half smile cross my lips.
“Missy will undo the compulsion she did on him. Then you and MG can try having that, uh, conversation again. If something different than that happens, give me a call.” Alairc and Josie left the room needing to talk.
MG turned on his feet talking to me. “Missy, I don’t want you to compel him but you heard Dr. Saltzman.”
“He’s not my father! He’s also not the headmaster anymore. My parents are so ask them, Milton.” I snapped at the vampire, he thinks he can talk me into this but he should know better than to challenge a Mikaelson.
MG gave me a look wishing my answer was different. “Huh then this is going to take some more time then Dr. Saltzman wants.” He slumped his shoulders moving over towards the couch.
Ethan leaned against the window, arms crossed over his chest. “I guess we got time to kill. Might as well tell me your origin story.”
MG disagreed. “Uh, I don't think that's a good idea.”
“Why not? You're just gonna wipe my memory anyway, right? Kind of like how Zatanna mind-wiped Batman.” Ethan shrugged his shoulders
MG saw a grin cross my face when he asked him. “In Identity Crisis issue number six. Hold on, hold on. How'd you know?”
“All right, look, I would never admit this to anyone, but...I've loved comic books since I was a kid.” Ethan chuckled and MG joined him with my phone vibrating showing a text from my father probably asking where I was. “You're a vampire too.”
MG was now sitting on the couch. “Now, it's nowhere near as dope as getting bitten by some radioactive bat or anything, but, uh, yeah, it's the truth.”
“It's still cool as hell. Super strength? Super speed? The blood thing is a bit of a bummer, but the only bad part was your mom and dad not accepting you for what you are.” Ethan grinned lowering his smile when he thought about how it was different than my situation.
MG stopped chuckling. “Yeah. That part was, uh, definitely rough.”
“My story's the opposite. My mom's done everything she can to support me, even letting me stay here in Mystic Falls to let me make the most of what I got. Which isn't much, compared to you. But that's why getting cut hurts so much, 'cause I don't know how to tell her. Or who I am without football. Wait, can you compel that into me?” Ethan sighed heavily confiding in me and MG the stress in his human life.
MG leaned back on the couch. “Uh...Yeah. But, um, I'd rather help you figure that out on the other side.”
“Well, I'm curious about your next move.” Ethan said knowing I wouldn’t compel the truth from him. “You can say that you're not a superhero, but that's a load of crap. If there's one thing guys like us know, with great power comes great responsibility. So how are you gonna use those powers for good?
My phone vibrates in my pocket where I put it to my ear standing away in the corner from the two boys hearing my father’s voice. “Melissa, finally I thought we agreed no ignoring my text messages.”
“Sorry, dad. There’s some stuff going on with Ethan. What’s wrong?” I asked him.
My father responded before he hung up the phone. “Your mother is running off somewhere and I’m going to follow her. I’ll be back in a few days.”
“Hey guys so if we are keeping this whole friendship/ relationship a secret we should probably get out of here. How about we go toss the old pigskin around?” Clasping my hands together I went back to the guys who ended their conversation. MG nodded and Ethan had a huge grin on his face.
Comments really appreciated ❤️
Reader's POV
To say you were shocked when you heard Hope turned off her Humanity after learning that she killed Landon was shocking. Why did she kill the boy she loved? And why did she turn off her humanity? People who always do that are never the same, they always end up harming the person they love or destroying things.
Now here you were in the school library also known as Salvatore Library. Weird name, but it was fine.
Picking up a book, you begin to look over the words trying to find a way to get your sister out of the situation she was in.
But it seemed nothing worked.
If your friends couldn't get Hope to turn her emotions back on, then maybe you could.
But how can you when the world is on your shoulders?
A sigh left your lips as you found what you were looking for.
Humanity switch.
You carefully walked over to a table and tried not to lose your spot in the book, sitting down you run your finger over the words of the page.
And took in every word slowly and carefully.
“ Emotions, also known as humanity, are one of humankind's greatest strengths and weaknesses. Vampires and vampire-hybrids are able to feel emotions more strongly because everything is enhanced. Vampires also have control over their emotions. Emotions can empower witches and their magic, while werewolves are strengthened by anger, though they are also very susceptible to it. ”
Pausing your eyebrows were scrunched up and your eyes were wide, So humanity was just Emotions, and the person turned them off?.
You jump when the library doors open, a class is coming in. With a sigh, you grab the book and walk away trying not to be seen.
As you walked out the door, you didn't notice a pair of eyes looking at you.
~
Time Skip : New Orleans.
You were nervous, the family had invited Hope to New Orleans but your sister didn't know that this was Klaus ( You two's) father funeral.
If you knew your sister well, you would assume she would be in denial and think they were poking fun at her.
Which no one will.
This is serious.
You were currently at the table looking over words in a book you found from the library.
You look up when you see your sister coming in. She made eye contact with you, and you felt a shiver run through your spine.
“ Hello, Hope. How are you sister? ”.
Hope narrowed her eyes at you and walked forward, her footsteps seemed to get louder and louder in the quiet room with every step she took.
“ Where is Aunt Rebekah? And what is going on? ”.
You forced a smile and closed the book you were reading.
“ Nothing is going on hope. We are just worried about you”.
Hope eyes flashed and you instantly grew scared. You were not as powerful as she was, so you knew her mindsetsate isn't normal at the moment.
And you had to be careful what you said and how you said it.
Closing your eyes you took in a deep breath, relaxed, and prepared yourself for the worst outcome.
“ Hope we are here for you”.
“ What the hell is that supposed to mean? ”.
Hope, your sister didn't get a chance to say more until Rebekah and Freya.
You sighed.
You were just glad you didn't have to talk everything in.
But the look on your sisters face was telling it all.
She was looking for trouble.
Female vampire reader x Hope Mikaelson
Summary: Hope gets scared of a haunted house
A/n: just a short cute blurb I decided to write after my exam
A/n 2: speaking of that, all my exams are done! IM FREE..sort of, well at least till next year.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Gah, Why oh why did you make me come in here" Hope jumps back from the popping-out mechanic. "Hey, I asked you, you didn't have to say yes" you chuckled.
"Okay, so I didn't want to be the only teenager with the little kids, but now I wish I was" She clings to your arm after there's a loud scream from another person in the house.
"Oh, come here, Baby" You bring her into your arms as you continue walking around the corner.
"I don't need to be babied, I'm the tribrid" she groans. "Okay, whatever you say" you release your arms from around her and continue walking towards the exit that's at the end of the hall.
5 seconds later, Hope is attached to your arm again. She ran from the spot next to the shattered mirror with 'old' blood splattered on it to you. Or who she hoped was you, if not it would've been awkward.
"Never leave me alone in there again" she shuddered. The grasp she has on your arm is like a death grip. "I wouldn't dream of it" you coo to your scared girlfriend. Some things are ironic. Like the almighty, 'death to all witches' tribrid, being scared of a haunted house.
You feel her nails dig into your bicep and forearm, holding back a chuckle from making Hope feel worse about this 'adventure'.
The floor creaked loudly as you guys take the last steps towards and through the exit door. As soon as you guys are out of the way of other people Hope let's out a sigh of relief.
"Oh my god, I'm free, sweet freedom!" Hope sees Josie and runs up to her, unclawing your arm. You chuckle as you watch Hope basically tackle Josie in a hug.
You walk over to the pair, smiling as your roll your eyes. "What happened?" Josie chuckles, rubbing her best friend's back.
"Y/n/n held me captive" Hope pouts into the brunette's shoulder. "And what's the real story?" You cross your arms, chucking. "...I went into the haunted house instead of staying with the little kids." She mumbles.
"So, you went into the haunted house even though you're scared shitless of them. Sounds about right" Josie chuckles with you as Hope pulls out of the hug.
"You're both mean!" Hope exclaims. "Oh, I'm sorry baby, how about we go on the carousel, nice and safe" you wrap your arm around her shoulders. She nods, "yes, so much better. You coming, Jo?"
"As long as you promise not to claw me if the ride gets too fast." Josie smirks.
"Of course. And rude!" She exclaims and starts to lead you guys to the carousel in the middle of the carnival.
"She's clawed you too?" You whisper. "Oh, yeah, but at least you have super healing." "True." You and josie whisper back and forth making you both chuckle.
"I can hear you both ya know" Hope turns around once you guys get in line.
"And we love you for it." You kiss the top of her head.

No one at the Salvatore Boarding School ever thought they would come face to face with a real mermaid, let alone a siren. Sure the students had heard stories about sirens from headmaster Saltzman, but they never thought they’d meet one. These students had fought loads of different monsters that emerged from Malivore, all of them having been forgotten by society. In a way, this was kind of like that but without all the killings.
It was a rather hot day at the school so of course the only way to not die of heat stroke was to have a pool day. Kaleb was grilling some burgers, someone was blasting music through a speaker they had got their hands on, and the teens were basking in the rays of sun. It wasn’t every day that they got to be ‘normal’ teenagers, so for once in their lives they grasped the day by it’s handles and just prayed to god that it never ended. That’s how some of them felt, Jed on the other hand was about to dig is eardrums out of his head. It wasn’t the music playing through the speaker that had his ears bleeding, it was the sound of a humming that was coming from far out in the distant.
Jed has no idea how he heard it, but he did and it was the most annoying thing on the planet. He was trying to enjoy the day with his friends, forget about all the troubles for once, but this was just absolutely dreadful. Standing up from the pool angrily, the werewolf threw on a t-shirt and shoes and decided against his best intentions that he would follow the sound and see where it takes him. His friends watched as he hastily walked through the trees, mumbling to himself that he was losing his mind and hearing things that no one else could hear.
His friends followed him, abandoning their carefree day and wondering behind the wolf to see where he would lead them. Though they tried to call out his name to get his attention, it seemed it didn’t matter as he just walked farther and farther along until they all reached the lake that was infamous for it’s summer parties.
Jed stopped at the edge of the water, looking out into it as if he was waiting for someone- or rather something- to emerge from the depths of the water.
Out of curiosity, Kaleb came up from behind, clapping him on the shoulder to get his attention. It seemed to work, the boy turning to his friend with a shocked expression on his face.
“Man, why did you walk all the way out here for?” Kaleb was worried for his friend, it wasn’t like him to just up and wonder around aimlessly.
Jed looked at the vampire with almost dead eyes, as if he had been drawn there without knowing it. Without saying a word he turned his attention back to the water, where ripples began to form and the shadow of what looked like a person moved under the lake. Everyone watched as the shadow moved gently and delicately, not knowing it was being watched.
Y/N, the shadow being watched closely, had no clue that a werewolf had heard her song from so far away. If someone had heard her song it meant that they were meant to be together, they were what some would call ‘mates’. Never in a million years did she think she would find her mate, but she would be surprised in just a few minutes. Poking her head out of the water she began to make her way to the edge of the lake, her tail splashing against the water with every movement.
The group of teens watched as the scene unfolded in front of them and they finally saw what was under the water. It was a mermaid, no- it was a siren.
As if on cue, Y/N began to sing without knowing that the teens were only a few feet away from her. The sound  of her voice grew Jed in closer again, this time he walked around the edge of the lake until he was where the siren was. Y/N was too lost in the song to realize that there was now a werewolf standing above her.
When she heard the crunching of leaves and twigs her eyes snapped open, eyes widening and then dilating. Fear coursed through her veins which causes her fangs to unsheathe themselves, along with her talons. Y/N hissed at the stranger, moving back as quickly as her body would let her. The team noticed this and rushed over to where Jed and the mermaid were, all of them getting ready for a fight. What they didn’t notice though was the fact that the girl in the water was absolutely terrified  about all the people that were suddenly around her.
Jed had snapped out of the trance, his eyes refocusing and finally realizing where he was. “What-what is going on?” He looked around, confused as to what had happened and why he couldn’t remember walking all the way out to the woods. His friends looked at him as if they expected him to just automatically remember what he was doing and why they all walked out so far.
Y/N was still sitting there in the water watching all of them, wondering what they were going to do to her. If they were like any of the other humans, or even supernatural creatures, they’d try to capture her and sell her.
Josie was the first to make a move and step closer to the mermaid. She reached her hand out gently, showing that she wasn’t a threat. This eased Y/N’s anxiety a little bit, but not enough. “It’s okay, we’re not here to hurt you.” Josie’s voice was soft, as if she were talking to a child. Her head turned to the group who was trying to put a game plan together. “You brought our friend to you, we just wanted to know why.”
Y/N’s tail was still swishing behind her vigorously, but she had a weird gut feeling that she could trust the girl talking to her. Her talons retracted and she felt her fangs sink back into her gums. Y/N’s y/e/c eyes looked back between Josie and the other teens. Her gaze landed on Jed, who coincidently turned to look at her in return. Their eyes locked, a weird fuzzy feeling swarming in both of their chests. It then hit the mermaid that the only reason why Jed heard her song and the rest of his friends didn’t is because he was her mate.
This had to be wrong.
As fast as she could, Y/N moved her hand in front of her face and vanished from their sight. Though they couldn’t see her, they heard the swishing of water as she dove further into the lake. Josie looked back at the group, confused and unsure of what to do.
Seeing as though Y/N was not a danger to her or anyone else, the teens decided it was best to head back to school and figure out what to do next. While Jed’s friends were walking away he just stood there, waiting for her to resurface. There was no luck. Huffing in defeat, Jed followed after his friends.
-
Once the group arrived back to the school they were met with an angry headmaster. “What have I said about leaving the grill unattended? You’re luck the school didn’t burn down and that Wade turned it off before one of the kids got to it.” Oh he was angry. Simple things like this are what can set Mr. Saltzman over the edge sometimes, and this is just one of those times.
As he went to lecture the teens further he noticed how everyone seemed shaken up almost. He asked them what was wrong, and was surprised by what they told him. The adult quickly ushered his students inside and led them to the library. Sure he had come in contact with Sirens before, when the twins were still very young, but those sirens were different. They didn’t have tails and they were being used by ‘The Devil’ and doing his bidding.
“Are you going to tell us what’s going on?” Hope asked as she watched her teacher go digging through books until he found one he was looking for. He flipped page after page until he found the picture of a mermaid, then flipped it around to verify with the kids that this what they saw.
Lizzie rolled her eyes as her dad started rambling on about how the sirens that he’s encountered never had tails, but did like the water, how they didn’t have talons or fangs, it went on for a little bit before the other twin interjected. “So what if this siren is different than those two that tried to kill us when we were little? Did you see how scared she was when she saw us? There’s no way she’ll ever come near us.”
All eyes landed on Jed, who had zoned out yet again. Jed snapped out of his trance and looked up to everyone staring at him. “I think I need to go back out there.” He said looking between all his friends. They all had a ‘why the hell would you want to do that’ look, plastered on their faces. “I felt something out there, when I looked at her. Not when I was in that trance, but when I actually looked at her.” He sighed as he realized no one else is going to understand what he was saying because they didn’t feel it.
There was a small pause between all the chatter, no one really knowing what to say since this was such an odd situation. Hope was the first one to speak up, which was not a surprise to anyone. “If you want to go back out there we’ll support you on it.” With that being the only thing said the group went to put an emergency bag together just in case this mystery girl came out of the water ass-naked.
While the teens were headed back to the lake, Y/N was drying herself off and getting ready to book it back to the main road and skip town. If the word got out that she had been spotted then all the people that had been after her before would definitely be coming after her again.
The thoughts of that strange boy being her mate kept making her stomach churn, in both good and bad ways. She didn’t want a mate, she never wanted out mainly because she always had the idea that they would never truly love her. She’s spent her life on the run, hiding from hunters and black market dealers. There weren’t very many sirens like her anymore, so catching one meant big bucks for the capture.
Once Y/N was ready to go she started making her way through the forest, trying to stay as quiet as she could just in case there were other things out in the woods. Before she could head out on the road she had to grab her belongs from the hotel she was staying in, seeing as though she didn’t want to leave any evidence of her being here behind.
Lost in her own train of though, the siren hadn’t even realized that she was about to cross paths with the group of teens again, who were not going to be ready to see a fully dressed siren wondering around the woods. Y/N’s head perked up as soon as she heard the crunching of leaves growing louder and louder. Before she could try to find a place to hide she was met face to face with her mate and his friends, all of them holding a bit of surprise in their faces as they saw her standing in front of them.
“You- you can walk.” Jed stuttered out.
Y/N scoffed, “Of course I can walk, and I can talk.” The tone in her voice was anything but friendly, a little warning sign for them to back off. When the group didn’t say anything, Y/N started to walk past them, hoping that they’d just let her go in peace.
How she was wrong.
As she started to walk past Jed had had reached out and grabbed her wrist, a rookie mistake for anyone who didn’t know how insanely strong a siren was. Without hesitation Y/N turned around, hand landing flat against the werewolf’s chest. It was a flat handed punch of sorts, strong enough to send Jed flying a few feet away from her. The group watched as she did it so effortlessly, not even batting an eye as Jed struggled to regain his breathe and get up.
For whatever reason, whether it was the mating bond or just the growing feelings for the girl, Jed was seeing stars and not just from how hard he had just hit his head.
“What the hell was that for? We weren’t going to hurt you!” Lizzie yelled angrily, throwing her hands up in the air. Y/N shrugged.
“I do not like being touched, and I do not like any of you.” She stated simply. “Now, if you don’t mind.” As she went to make her way past them again, Hope stood in her way, a sarcastic grin on her face.
“Yeah, you’re not going anywhere till you tell us why Jed is the only one who’s able to hear your siren song.” The Tribrid crossed her arms over her chest as she awaited an answer.
Sighing, Y/N looked back at Jed who was standing up and making his way back to his friends. The siren looked back at the teens with a straight face. “He can hear my siren song because, unfortunately for the both of us, he is my mate.”
There were small gasps from the group, but noy from Jed. When Y/N looked back at the young wolf he was smiling, like he was actually happy about the announcement.
“You’re my mate? No wonder I was in such a daze, I mean of course it was probably your siren song, but I could feel the bond and how close you were and all I wanted to do was to just come find you-” Jed’s ranting was caught off by Y/N putting her hand in the air to get him to shut up.
“You’re happy about this? Wouldn’t you rather be with someone of your own kind? A fellow werewolf?” Y/N questioned.
Jed shook his head as he took a bold step forward to the girl, “I’m just happy I found you, I never thought I’d find my mate.” If it weren’t for the fact that everyone else was around the two mates, Jed probably would have tried to kiss Y/N, but he knew it was much too soon for that. Plus, she’d probably throw him against a tree again.
There was a silence as no one had any clue of what to say, but one thing was for sure and everyone’s stomachs were growling for the barbequed food they had left behind at the school.
Kaleb clapped his hands together to gain everyone’s attention, “Why don’t we head back to the school, get something to eat, and you two can uh- sort this whole thing out. Sound like a plan?” Before anyone could say anything he started walking back in the direction of the school, the others following behind him.
Y/N was going to wait till they were far enough ahead and then make a run for it, but when she went to turn around she hit her face straight into Jed’s chest. The boy was smiling down at her, which was kind of creepy in a way, but he couldn’t help it. Jed started walking behind his friends, and reluctantly Y/N followed them.
Reaching the school felt like it took hours since they were all so hungry, but as soon as they reached the grill where all the food was still warm it felt well worth the wait. Everyone started to fill their plates, talking and passing food. Though Y/N was hungry, she didn’t want to eat anything that was handed to her just in case they were trying to drug her or something. Instead, she went to the deep end of the pool and sat at the edge, her shoes discarded behind her as she dipped her feet in the water. She sighed in relief as she let the coolness of the water calm her down.
Unlike most mermaids who don’t have control of when they shift into the fishy form, Y/N did. She was old and had learned many spells that had helped her gain control of her shifting over the years. She closed her eyes and imagined she was home, deep in the ocean where no one could find her, where it was quiet calm. She hated the land, the people there were too greedy for their own good.
Her peace was disturbed as Jed sat next to her, water splashing as his feet were submerged into the water. Y/N opened her eyes, narrowing them at the boy. She knew it was a bit irrational to be so angry over something so small, but she was just angry at everything at the moment. Jed smiled as he handed her plate of food, hoping that she’d takt it. It took a little nudge, but eventually Y/N took the food and slowly started to eat bits and pieces of it.
“You know, if you don’t want to talk about it right now, we don’t have to. I just want you to know that I’d really like to get to know you, and for you to get to know me. I can feel the mistrust, the anxiety, but we’re not going to hurt you.” There was a pause as he looked into Y/N’s eyes, really meaning his next words, “I’m not going to hurt you.”
Y/N was silent as she looked down at her plate of food, most of it already gone and she hadn’t even realized. Jed chuckled softly, knowing that she was probably starving deep down.
“I do not trust anyone.” Y/N said slowly, which caught the rest of the group by surprise. “Many people, supernatural or not, want to hunt me, kill me, or sell me. I do not trust anyone.” Y/N’s eyes glanced up for a split second, just long enough to see the sadness that rested on everyone’s features.
Jed gently put his hand on Y/N’s knee, and thankfully she didn’t move back from him. “We won’t let anything happen to you.” He smiled softly, the action warming Y/N’s cold heart just enough to make her smile a little bit.
Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad, to have a mate that was a werewolf. Maybe it wouldn’t be bad to stick around and see what happens. Just maybe.
