I like how TMA fans accidentally draw a more canonical Jesus Christ when drawing jonathan Sims than actual Christians portray Jesus.

Was Julien actually gonna kill JD? Personally I have this theory that John Dory was starting to realise that their thing might actually be fr long term and the idea of a real commitment scared him so much it was easier to think it was a lie, but also we haven't seen that much of Julien to know either way so I genuinely have no idea which way it could go. It is cute to think that Julien might have been all in on being partners in crime though, and that thats why the second he had any clue about where JD was he went after him. Just gonna hold onto that hope until proven otherwise.
Yeah Julien never had any plans to kill John Dory, he 100% was just planning a scheme. But it's like you said, JD felt that affinity for Julien and it scared him that he cared so much. A marriage based on a scheme felt like the best of both worlds at the time; they were committed but it wasn't because of their love for each other, but even then, if there was any doubt about Julien and his intentions, JD was in a bad spot with his finances and possessions being attached to his new spouse. Best case scenario? They do the scheme and make some money (but then JD probably couldn't perform anymore), WORST case scenario, he is murdered (?).
When he realizes if he faked his death he couldn't perform anymore, and then on top of that he finds out that Julien lip syncs??? It was too much of a betrayal so he ran away 😔

Jon Stewart on Never Ending Elections with Doris Kearns Goodwin and Eugene Daniels
“The idea that this vetting process is somehow getting us closer to more competent and better leadership is nonsense and insane. And we have created an electoral campaign system that does the opposite.” On this week’s episode Jon Stewart is joined by Doris Kearns Goodwin and Eugene Daniels.

Biden Is Out, Harris Is In with Jon Stewart, Doris Kearns Goodwin & Eugene Daniels
In the turbulent month since President Biden’s disastrous debate performance, the media has been speculating as to whether it was probable, or even possible, for him to drop out of the race. Turns out, it was both. In light of Biden’s historic decision, how effectively did the media guide the public through the election chaos? This week, helping us to contextualize the moment and understand the challenges in covering it, Jon Stewart is joined by Doris Kearns Goodwin, presidential historian and author of whose most recent book is An Unfinished Love Story: A Personal History of the 1960s, as well as Eugene Daniels, POLITICO White House correspondent and Playbook co-author. Together, they examine the flaws in our electoral process and media coverage, offer some possible fixes, and provide facts —not speculation — about what to expect in the weeks ahead.

𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 @chandeliersintheforest 𝐉𝐨𝐧 - 𝐃𝐨𝐫𝐲
Jon was still trying to reconcile with the pain, the ache of his heart that worked its way through the entirety of his body only to immobilize him in front of her. The loss of Dory weighed heavy on his soul, although it couldn’t have been guessed by a simple glance at him. Jon kept his devastation locked away, only letting it devour him in isolation, never allowing it to show in the presence of others. It was another burden he would bear alone. Instead, he smiled at the blonde, hoping that friendship would be enough. “So, how was it?” He asked, referring to her trip to Atlantis.

Doctor Who: Planet of the Spiders
I rewatched this serial on 26 February 2023. It’s another one that Ive watched quite a few times during my life, thanks to the ABC’s repeats during the 1970s in Australia.
Anyways, the tale opens with interspersing scenes of Mike Yates in civvies wandering around a mansion and stumbling across a group of Buddhist chanters and the Doctor and the Brigadier, also in civvies, at some kind of stage show. Turns out, the Doctor is intrigued by a real-life clairvoyant, who dies from fright at the images conjured by the return of the Metebelis Three blue crystal. Jo has sent the crystal back because the people they’re with in South America don’t like it. Meanwhile, Mike has enticed Sarah to the meditation clinic for a story about something sinister. We get quite a lot about Tibetan Buddhism, which delightfully doubles as an explanation for regeneration.
The spiders appear, chasing after the crystal. We leap to Metebelis Three, which is a little different from when we last saw it. Time, eh. There’s lots of factions and factions within factions. The spiders are despotic rulers, unsurprisingly; yet in that lies the seed of their own destruction, as well as the Doctor’s death.
And so we say farewell to Jon Pertwee as Dr/Doctor Who (both are used in the end credits throughout his time on the show). Colour, and the related TV production changes, marked quite a difference in approach to the show that’s now finishing its first eleventh season. The Pertwee serials also really laid on the newly invented mythology of the show, with loads of Time Lords popping up everywhere and the Doctor’s physiology being demonstrably alien. It’s fun that this serial includes a wonderful James Bond style chase as send off to Pertwee’s love of vehicles and gadgets.
Fun facts: we first hear the name Doris in connection to the Brigadier, and learn of a UNIT Medical Officer named Sullivan. The regeneration of K’anpo Rimpoche neatly foreshadows the Doctor’s next regeneration.
