I love Velvet and Veneer's final look because I think it fits really well with the "Gen-Z teenage celebrity" stereotype, a lot better than what them being Bergens could have. the ONLY thing I wished they kept was Velvet's occasional misuse and mispronunciation of big words. it would have been really interesting to see that trait in a kid's movie character.

The fact that Velvet and Veneer were going to be bergens STILL boggle’s my mind, especially after watching Jon Magram’s storyboard on youtube I was determined to draw those designs of them in my style :-)

If both versions of Velvet met each other I feel like this is probably how it would go🫢

Hey do you know where I can see the early designs of Ruby And Chelsea from Teenage Kraken?

I saw people sharing them here and on Twitter but can't remember the links. Still i have saved some of the early designs i liked also there is an animatic clip of early Ruby and Chelsea hanging out, it was deleted at first but i think they uploaded it again, you can find it on Jon Magram youtube channel. Also these are the early designs i saved

Jon Magram and I drew some very similar Metroid slips awhile back. While his is, you know, executed in a competent and professional fashion, I think MINE has a certain, uh, humble charm. Hehe.

This was part of a broadcast we did on twitch.tv for Starmen.net's 8-bit Funktastic Fest. We were teaching Mario Paint techniques, which hopefully we'll be able to share some time soon on this blog. Fun Fact: Ridley has the only boss I beat by myself in Metroid Prime. I had my friend beat the rest of them for me, but Ridley was mine.
