i love akechi because he tries to act nonchalant and calm and collected for the general public and basically everyone he meets but as soon as it comes to ren he is a completely different person, it’s like a switch got flipped in his brain. he’s so needy and possessive and jealous when it comes to ren because he’s never had anyone take an interest in him and understand him quite like ren so he almost goes to any length to keep that. he’s never been loved or loved anyone properly and it’s like he doesn’t know how to except constantly challenging him and making him his rival to get that validation. it’s like ren is giving him the validation he wanted from his own father and never got. and it never bothers ren because he understands him and they’re soulmates, even if they are also rivals.

Honestly I wanna see more time dedicated to highlighting how scarily intelligent some of the rogues are.

Black Mask and Penguin sniped most of Gotham out from under crime families that had been in power for decades, that isn't all ruthlessness and intimidation, that takes some serious skill in strategy to catch established mob bosses off-guard like that.

Harley Quinn and Scarecrow are some of Batman's most dangerous rogues built purely on how well they can read people and use it to their advantage. They're both extremely emotionally intelligent and Scarecrow's got quite a bit of biological and chemical knowledge on top of that.

Two-Face was a District Attorney, that means he's not just a damn good lawyer, he's a damn good politician, occupations that usually require both a lot of practical and emotional intelligence. It takes a fair amount of intelligence to win over a skeptical crowd--or a jury, for that matter.

We seriously sleep on how smart Joker is, comic writers included. It's not just him creating his own toxin from scratch; it's being able to manipulate a trained psychiatrist who is also fiercely intelligent, two of them depending on the comic.

Poison Ivy learned about and adapted to her own physical condition within days of discovering it. More than that, she used it to her advantage and used it to bolster her already expansive knowledge of botany and biology.

Riddler? Mechanical and computer engineering skill aside, ask any DM or game designer how hard it is to create a genuinely challenging puzzle or riddle. It's really hard; it doesn't just take intelligence it takes patience.

In an au where the batkids (minus Cass cause I couldn’t do that to her) are all chill with murder and only don’t because of Bruce’s no kill rule, they have 24 hours where they are allowed to murder anyone they want.

Who are they killing?

My thoughts are:

Dick is on a fucking mission to kill DeathStroke. Just doesn’t like him, many reasons.

Babs and Jason team up to kill BlackMask (Barbie gets rid of the defences, Jason actually does the shooty shooty pow pow 💥)

Cass doesn’t want to kill anyone, she’s done it before, shockingly didn’t enjoy it very much.

Steph kills the joker.

Tim, maybe Ra’s? Maybe Lex Luthor? I can’t think of anyone good.

Duke aims to get rid of most of the corrupt police force. Might help Steph kill the Joker? He has good reason to want him dead but I don’t think he’d actually be able to go through with it himself.

Damian would kill no one because he is a young child who doesn’t want to. He is healing from the cult he was raised in.

I didn’t want Barbara and Jason to be th wines killing the joker, Jason could’ve done that himself if that’s what he wanted. It feels cruel to make them kill him for themselves as opposed to making someone else do it, Steph does it because Joker’s victims are three people in her team that she cares about and respects (fuck whatever they were doing with her and babs in some comics) she wants to avenge them.

Babs and Jay killing Black Mask is basically mostly just them paying back Steph. Steph kills the guy who ruined their lives, they kill the guy who ruined hers. We chill?
