Hello !

I've decided to start a blog for two of my favorite interests! Writing and red dead. This is probably my third tumblr blog thus far and I aim to write about specifically red dead redemption on here.

I think it's particularly funny that R* made him that dumb because anyone who played the first game had such a high and iconic perception of John, and then the writers went and were like "this is the biggest himbo on this side of the Lannahechee river" and somehow it fitted perfectly

you know, a lot gets said about john marston being stupid but no one mentions that near-universal gang consensus that he’s dumb as a bag of rocks. i thought it was just arthur with his bone to pick but no, i’ve replayed around two hours of this game and almost everyone has commented on it. abigail said he was smart when she was worried he’d been killed only to call him an idiot when i brought him back to camp half-eaten by wolves. john is a good shot with some slutty hips but those are the only goods he’s selling and everyone understands the rest of the shelves are bare.

The night had finally set, most of the camp members took their rest while a few stood on nightly watch. John decided to stay up a bit, he sat alone at the campfire with a drink in his hand. He uncomfortably tugged at the collar of his shirt, the humid night air lingered all throughout the camp. He took another swig of his drink, letting his mind wander as he stared into the campfire. He quickly snapped out of it when he felt a pair of eyes set on him.

He looked behind him, "Still awake? You have a higher tolerance than I thought," he joked once he knew it was you.

"So do you, Mr. Marston," you teased. You carefully took a seat on the log next to him, bottle in hand.

Your eyes peeked over to his, "What's Marston doing up this late anyways, huh?"

John took a moment before he thought of an answer, his eyes lingered on you for a second too long. He couldn't help but smile to himself as he watched the orange glow from the fire illuminate your face. He ripped his eyes away and back to the bottle in hand, "Can't sleep, figured I stay up till I can," he grins as he took another long sip of the bottle. "What's your excuse then?" he asked.

You placed a hand over your mouth, trying to hide the stupid grin as you cooked up an answer, "Well, what can I say, I'm quite the night owl."

He replied with a deep laugh and a small nod. His laughter filled the night, alongside the pop and crackle of the fire. John glanced around, he took in the peacefulness of the camp. He turned back towards you, "You're lucky everyone - a matter of fact you're lucky Dutch is asleep," he explained sarcastically as he motioned you to be quiet.

You laughed as quietly as possible, "That old man needs his rest anyways," you said with a grin.

John nodded before he agreed with you. He looked over at you once more, taking in the firelight against your hair and face. Something about you makes him feel all weird. His cheeks burned slightly, and his heart beat a bit faster. "You know..." he started awkwardly before he stopped himself. He took a moment to regain himself before the rest of his thought came out, "You're pretty. That's what I'm tryin' to get out."

You couldn't help but feel shy all of a sudden, "Why thank you Mr. Marston... I appreciate the compliment," a small smile grew on your lips. A small tint of blush appeared on your face as you looked away embarrassed.

John watched you and your every movement and reaction. A grin tugged on his lips, while he grinned like the idiot he is, "Hey... look at me, please."

You moved over to face him again, and as your eyes locked with his the tension finally set. The small act of eye contact created such an intimate moment between you and John. A moment that he nor you wanted to end, yet none knew how to continue. Your eyes take a moment to roam across his face -- searching for an answer to this moment. Knowing something was there just by the look in his eyes, hungry and filled with desire.

John hesitated, just for a moment as he is unsure of how to continue. His eyes flicked down to your lips and quickly back up to your eyes. Before he did anything he took a quick deep breath calming himself, as he leaned in towards you. After all those glances you shared, small flirts here and there he finally let his lips meet yours.

His hungry hand reached out to firmly grip the back of your neck as he held you closer. The kiss deepens the closer he pulls you in. His tongue asks for entrance-- as soon as you let him he eagerly explores the seam of your lips. The kiss lasted what felt like an eternity, John finally pulled away leaving himself and you gasping for breath.

You felt many emotions at once. High off the pleasure from his kiss, and purely shocked by his sudden boldness. Your feelings for John started off small but it slowly grew over time. You never thought he would return them, never mind make the first move. You cleared your throat, and you decided to break the silence first, "Wow..." as you spoke your voice was quiet and breathless, "I enjoyed that."

John nodded dumbly, still letting his gaze linger on her mouth. He's also trying to process what he had just done, and how he wished to continue. A dumb grin spread across his face as he made eye contact with you. "I uh, enjoyed it too. Can I--" he stumbled over his words as the embarrassment caught up to him. Still, he pressed forward as he attempted to regain his confidence again, "Can I kiss ya?"

A small laugh escaped you, "Of course."

This time you lean in first, and you let your body push against his as your lips connect with his. The kiss was more passionate and hungry. Both of you want more no matter what. Your hands roamed across his chest and slowly up to his neck and hair.

With the sudden change in direction, John couldn't help but groan against your lips as he felt your body press against his. "Drivin' me crazy," he growls against your lips before letting his hands roam across your body as well. With the way you made John feel he suddenly didn't want the night to end, and he definitely did not want you to reside back to your tent, unless it was with him.

☆ - synopsis :: john marston used to be known for sleeping around with women. he was dangerous in a way that got many women got… aroused. now that he was running with the dutch van der linde gang, that was all behind him- not to mention he had jack and abigail. needless to say when he gets contacted by one of the women he had sex with, he was genuinely taken aback when he was informed that he had a daughter that needed a different place to live.

"Ain't you handsome," crooned a woman, running her hands along John's shoulders. The man smiled and took a swig of the alcohal in his glass.

"Thank you, ma'am. Y'ain't bad yerself," he found himself saying. John was affected by the alcohal, but he was still thinking properly.

"Well, I thank you kindly. You got a name, mister?" the woman asked, massaging john's shoulders.

"Yes ma'am," he replied after finishing his drink.

"Oh? Well what is it?"

Standing up and turning around, John smiled a charming smile that made all the girls dance. "Whatever you want to call me, honey, that's my name." With that, John gently grasped the woman by the waist and pulled her in for a kiss.

I think you know what happens next.

Almost 9 months later, the woman that John had sex with that night gave birth to two kids. Two baby girls, both small and tiny. Premature, the doctor had said. Both of the girls were premature.

This was not very good, doctor Mathers explained. They were barely into the eighth month when Catharine gave birth.

It doesn't matter, Catharine had said. I'll do what needs to be done.

What are you going to name the girls ma'am? the man asked after nodding at the woman's previous statement.

Catharine thought for a moment. Carmen and Cameron, she answered. The Corrigan family has two more successors, Catharine said with a smile.

Indeed it does, Doctor Mathers had replied with a weary smile.

Cameron and Carmen were like many sisters of the era: best friends. The girls- although very similar in looks- were differing in personalities. Not to the point were they clashed over everything, just to the point where they each grew irritated at each other for their likes and dislikes.

Carmen was the oldest. She left the womb approximately three minutes and fifty six seconds before Cameron. As the eldest, Carmen made it her responsibility to take over the chores that Cameron inevitably slacked off. Carmen had black hair that reached her back that was twisted into intricate braids pinned to her scalp. Carmen was nice enough. The girls were told never to speak unless spoken to, never lie or withhold information, never speak out against an elder's statement, and to never wish harm upon anyone. Every single one of these rules were broken by both of the girls but as long as they weren't doing anything illegal or to get the family of three in trouble then Catharine didn't care.

Cameron. The second born. Cameron was as perceptive as her sister but she normally stated what she saw. Cameron was taller than her sister by not even an inch. She was a strawberry blonde, just like Catharine. Cameron inherited her mother's brown eyes while Carmen had a vibrant shade of green and brown. (Literally. Carmen's left eye was green and the other was brown!) Cameron's hair was cut as short as her mother would let it. Her hair was exactly two and a half inches past her shoulder and was braided and pinned back just like Carmen's hair.

Catharine's joy about her kids never wavered. They were the joy of her life, along with a bottle of rum every once in a while. Catharine kept clean for her girls, always putting them first. She worked at the local saloon and was fortunate enough to be able to bring home three or four extra meals that the chef had made more of.

Despite how happy the three were, they knew the hardships of life. When Carmen and Cameron were barely a year old, Catharine was living out in the streets, picking the locks of some churches and sneaking into abandoned houses to sleep in. Only when Catharine had four more years of parenting under her belt did the tide start to turn.

Now at 14, Carmen and Cameron were both working in town. Carmen and Cameron both took time out of their day to go earn some money at the Valentine stable to help clean stalls. In return, the men working would give each twin a dime or two and teach them how to ride horses.

The twins had different main jobs. Carmen worked at the gun store with 'Papa Dalton' (an inside joke from years ago). Papa Dalton taught Carmen everything she'd ever need to know about using any kind of weapon, and- as per their mother's request- taught both the girls basic fighting moves.

Cameron worked with the town doctor, Ben Calloway. She spent her days helping treat ailments and studying medicine. The doctor had a soft spot for the family. He- along with Dalton Smith- cared for the family of three like a grandfather. Calloway taught both girls how to stitch someone up properly, how to suture a wound, remove snake venom from a bite, and many other useful things.

In any case, the Corrigan family were doing better than most. They had each other and reciprocated love for their town of Valentine.

Yesterday i went with my grandma to get a debit card on one of the common covinience stores here but I myself sometimes I just get random vocal stims and let them happen bc yeah so while i was entering the store couldn't stop thinking about "my name is John Marston!!!" audio with the bulding house song intro after that and i was doing the song while waiting in line, i tried really hard to not say it and just do the song but at one point the cashier looked at me like 🤨 lmfao
