one thing about me is I don't throw around the soulmate title like it's nothing. like, a ship has gotta EARN this title. there are some good ships that, in my opinion, aren't soulmates. they're still good and I ship them and I love them but the soulmates title is a whole other level that they can't quite reach.

like, alex manes and michael guerin are soulmates. no doubts. so are michaela stone and zeke landon. as well as leopold fitz and jemma simmons.

however, imo stiles and lydia aren't. pacey and joey neither. you know what I mean?

like I fear I look for the written in the stars type of bond in my soulmates.

some of my favorite agents of shield fun facts (season 3 edition) (part 1!!)

season one & two fun facts are on my page!! this may be the last season i do though :)

- the little tagline they used in the writers room for season two was “what will i become?” to reference skye’s new powers and learning about her family, coulson’s new position as director, and other character changes. in season three the tagline became “what have i become?” showing the characters evolution into season three and onwards.

- many of the writers also said that the season focused on emotional balance between characters. it was focused on the emotional connection between may & andrew, daisy & lincoln, coulson & rosalind, and fitz & simmons.

- after being taken by the monolith at the end of season two, elizabeth got no confirmation that jemma was alive and she still had a job playing her until being brought back for season three months later.

- the writers were a bit unsure of mack’s character evolution after season two but when they saw henry simmons acting they immediately saw “leading man material” and began to discuss him as a possible director.

- they had a “skye jar” in the writers room when writing season three because everyone kept forgetting daisy and writing skye.

- apparently jed & maurissa’s newborn guest starred in the first episode [03x01] sometime during the opening scene with joey. i watched the episode on Disney+ and i couldn’t find her though, maybe y’all can! [the bts picture i found has her in a blue stroller, dm me for the pic if you want!]

- the inhuman lash is played by matthew willig, a former NFL offensive tackle. he was chosen because not only his huge stature but his previous acting work. he had to take 4 hours in the makeup chair daily for the role.

- the character rosalind price was created to give coulson a role other than “the surrogate father”. both the writers and clark wanted to give him a romantic role. however, when they talked about her to the costume department they described her as a “female coulson”.

- as skye was written as the “eyes of the audience” in season one and bobbi was the same for season two, the writers created the character of joey gutierrez as the eyes of the audience of season 3 with inhumans.

- the writers created the relationship between daisy introducing joey into shield/inhumans to mirror coulson introducing skye into shield back in season one.

- joey’s character was supposed to be a more permanent character in the following seasons but actor who plays him, juan pablo raba, had just booked another show and he couldn’t do both.

- according to the costume designers, they describe coulson’s season three look as his “bad ass civilian look”

i am working on more season three facts rn, but i wanted to post some now!! also i wanted to take this time to show my support for the writers currently on strike (some of which wrote the scenes we love in aos!), they ask so little for the amazing work they do and i hope they get what they deserve in the near future !!

Blitzdream

I had actually devised a sweet hit and run strategy for Cadillac Dreams, just because it seemed most convenient to me to say as few words as possible about this song I never cared about too much from Hot in the Shade (1989), the Kiss album that I never really counted among my very favorites.

Actually.

But actually actually, my least favorite songs have always turned out to be the best templates for the more interesting spontaneous trains of thought, and here we are once again.

Despite the stylistic diversity on Hot in the Shade, but also the mediocrity spread over long stretches, Cadillac Dreams always formed a foreign body in my eyes, not only on this album, but within the entire Kiss katalog. In much the same way that Rock This Town (1980) by the Stray Cats would be totally out of place on a Kiss klassik like Love Gun (1977), or any other Kiss album. It's that Rockabilly thing that turns it off, right from the first note.

And I don't even necessarily think it's a bad song, just some kind of anomaly, even more than a song like Odyssey (1981) could ever be regarded to be, because Kiss have certainly been no strangers to pompous musicals since Destroyer (1976) (1).

Yet, just imagine if the original line-up had never split up in the early 80s, but had still taken off the make-up, and probably due to the fact that Peter Criss was still in the band as the drummer, would never have switched to contemporary Metal, but would in all probability have simply continued to move around in other areas of rock like a couple of gypsies, one of which, rockabilly rock, could have turned out to be quite conceivable. If an entire album, or an album with several songs in this subgenre, had been created from this idea, then, under this circumstance, and only under this circumstance, yes, then Cadillac Dreams would have been an even a more than acceptable Kiss song.

So much for that.

And well, what more could someone like me do with this song, except perhaps briefly point out a small mannerism that it shares with the quantum leaps better known and almost bursting with energy piece of glam rock by The Sweet that goes by the name of Ballroom Blitz (1973).

So, if you were to simply run both of those choruses through your head, what would be the first thing you might notice? Exactly, that small but crucial repetition at the end of the last lines. While this is the tremendously memorable refrain standard for The Sweet, it only occurs once for Kiss. But hey, once is better than never, and after all, I take all that I can get.

Rhythmically, however, Cadillac Dreams doesn't quite move in the same realms as the light-footed urge of Ballroom Blitz (of which one could assume the drummer was on an exclusive coffee diet), but still keeps you on your toes enough to not lose touch and at least stay close to it; somewhere very close to the battle cry and intro of Do You Remember Rock and Roll Radio (1980) (2) by everyone's good old friends the Ramones.

Even if these are all aspects that should not be considered irrevocably repulsive, I would nonetheless like to leave my usual snippy final phrase more or less to Bruce Kulick.

Didn't even he categorically reject his guitar services at the time and suggest that Gene should take them into his own hands?

(1) And we will also be getting to the bottom of this issue in the near future.

(2) Yes, Kiss covered that one later, even much later, for a Ramones tribute sampler. Kover it Up will cover it, just a little later.

Of course, one could also argue that Cadillac Dream's horn section could suggest the production of a Phil Spector.

As u guys can see I'm back. Idk I'm free from studies/school right now and I need blogging cuz it's like free therapy for me. I'm feeling better now and everything is all good. (Well not really cuz I wanna k someone really badly but I will get over it in a few days).

Paul Stanley: Would get kinda worried and help u up asking if ur okay. He wouldn't laugh no matter how good of friends or couple u guys are.

Gene Simmons: Would be like a disappointed dad and be like "can't u for once not be clumsy and watch ur steps?" Wouldn't help u up, instead just wait till u get up with an awkward smile.

Ace Frehley: Of course would laugh at u and make jokes but when it's really bad then help u up and ask if u need anything.

Peter Criss: He would giggle a bit but help u up and tell u to be more careful or even not let it happen and catch u.

Eric Carr: He would be a sweetheart. Getting really worried and ask if u hurt urself badly and kinda overdo the situation but in a cute way. He just wants u to be okay as he hates seeing u hurt.

Ozzy Osborne: He would tell u to be more careful and not help u up but kinda complain about u not being careful.

Joey Tempest: U either would fall into his arms or if u really hit the ground, he would have this typical shocked face with wide eyes and immediately ask u if ur good and help u up.

Klaus Meine: He would be like "😬" and ask if u hurt yourself. He also helps u up and even hugs u if it's bad.

Nikki Sixx: Would look at ur ass and smirk but eventually help u up and ask if ur fine.

Andy Biersack: Would immediately knee down and stroke over ur cheek and ask if ur fine and of course help u up also being kinda worried. Would never laugh at u..Only if ur his bestie.
