Today's Feature Friday is for one of my favorite true crime people, Lt. Joe Kenda! He is an author, a retired homicide detective, and a host of "Homicide Hunter" (one of my favorite TV shows). This man has the dryest sense of humor, and I love it! He has some of the best one-liners, and how he delivers them is everything.

Currently, he has two nonfiction books about his 20 years as a detective, and two fiction books, both based on his experiences. He and his wife are also main characters! If you are a fan of true crime, I highly recommend any of his books!

The Poughkeepsie Tapes (2007)

121 minutes of violence against women and girls. And this is coming from a true crime fan. I have watched many a Homicide Hunter and People Magazine Investigates, both of which are way better than this ficticious quasi-found footage doc.

In a way, I can see where they were trying to go with this killer. The ways he was always a few steps ahead made for a smart antagonist. However, many of his victims frustrated me. Why put be alone at night when a killer is on the loose? Why pick up a hitchhiker? Why get into a stranger’s vehicle? It may have been the late 90s, but people weren’t stupid.

Anyways, I’ve yet to find a really spectacular found footage film that turns my crank. I thought this psuedo-documentary would do it, but the search continues.

Watch this if:

you are looking to mix up your true crime stint

your brain will make this scarier by filling in the gaps

found footage is your favourite horror sub-genre

I like how their vibes just balance each other out lol. Have you ever heard of Chris Rock’s No Sex song? He goes into the part of each horoscope and basically all of them say your going to die but for Gemini they are going to die twice lol.

I’ve heard of it but I need to watch it this weekend.

Have you watched #TextMeWhenYouGetHome and Fear Thy Roomate? I watched the majority of those episodes and I kept just thinking really?!

I looked it up and those are gorgeous colors! I wish I was more into makeup, I use to just throw on some lipstick, eyeliner, and eye shadow. I use to watch msmaverickmuse on TikTok and found out about some 90’s style Revlon lipsticks and wanted to try them out.

I like that, my niece use to love to read the dictionary and expand her vocabulary. Sometimes I thought I was having a conversation with T.I lol

I never wanted to kidnap a dog before but this one I SHALL TAKE! I will take him and name him Oscar. Such a cute lil bear costume. Smh I wonder what he said about Pisces? I’ll definitely listen to it tonight. Yes…I want to say I have watched both, but I’ll have to double check. Ohhhh have you watched Homicide Hunter: Joe Kenda and Murder Choose Me? OMG. This is why I sleep so late at night and sleep all day. Work and true crime.

Simple routine: putting on foundation, cat eye liner or a smokey eye look and with a black lipstick. If glitter is around, take it away from me because it’s going on my eyes, lips, and hair.
