hi!! i have returned to yell about trc. i'm only on the dream thieves, and barely 1/4 of the way through it at that (and i've been warned things get wilder from here, so i'm bracing myself accordingly), but when RONAN REVEALED (well, just to us readers in his narration) THAT HEEEEE WAS THE ONE COVERING ADAM'S RAISED TUITION/LOWERED RENT SITUATION? i fucking squealed. oh my god. anyway. truly, i'm having so much fun with the group dynamics all around, but that particular moment short-circuited my brain for a second.

1. who is/are your comfort character(s)?

okay, you don’t even know how much trouble this question gave to me D: whenever the term comfort character/show/x is used i’m always like “what is comfort x and how does it differ from favorite x” and after a week of thinking about it, i don’t think i can name any specific comfort characters i would return to over and over again. i think i draw comfort from whoever happen to be my favorite at time

so lately, bunch of bleach characters (read: ichigo and byakuya) as i’m re-discovering that fandom and the foxes (but especially the monsters) from aftg and come march firefam will no doubt be back on the list too

11. favorite extracurricular activity?

i think my top 3 right now would be reading, knitting and playing video games

41. how do you take your coffee?

y’know until semi-recently the answer would’ve been a total nope, i don’t drink coffee, but last december my friend offered me this choco cappuccino (instant) coffee which was actually drinkable and i ended up buying it for myself too. so i guess the answer is with milk and some cocoa XD

There were so many times, where he thought…maybe, maybe, maybe. Buck would stare at him a little too long after a lull in their conversation or he’d glance over at his shoulder, where Eddie’s scar is, and his forehead would get all wrinkled, like he was turning words over in his head, but nothing seemed to sound right.

It comes out quick, the question. Eddie doesn’t even have time to be surprised about it; he starts talking just as quickly.

Danny’s arm slips over the back of the chair next to his. Steve hasn’t returned yet, but that doesn’t mean Danny can’t invade his space. “So that’s the terrible stuff he’s been telling you behind my back, huh? That I have interesting opinions and my kids are brilliant?”

2. No more guessing who (Looking back now, it was always you)

“Yeah.” Danny rubs his leg. “But it’s not finished.”

It looks pretty finished to Steve. “What’s missing?”

“How are you doing?”

Danny, lounging in one of the Adirondack chairs on the lawn like a lizard on a rock, lowers his sunglasses down his nose. “In what sense?”

4. Said the apple to the orange

“What brings you to the Aloha State?” Danny asks. He seems to be done with his phone, stowing it away somewhere in the bag between his feet. “I bet it isn’t the pizza.”

Hutch turns to look at Starsky, so Starsky gets first right of answer. “Holiday,” he offers.

“Honeymoon,” Hutch counters.

“Research and work,” Starsky reminds him, wryly.

5. Across the water, across the deep blue ocean (Under the open sky, oh my) 

Danny taps Steve’s chest, for reasons that are so unclear they might as well not exist. There are no cards there, so perhaps he’s just showing off the fact that his ring does, in fact, match Steve’s. “What did you think was happening when I moved from the couch to Steve’s bed?”

6. Big picture feelings

He’s quiet and frowning for a moment that seems eternal, because this is where he’d need to give some kind of impassioned denial if it isn’t true or she’s misunderstood or he at least still wants to continue what they’ve been doing. She’s rooting for him to come up with something good. “I’m sorry,” he says instead.

7. I’m dumb she’s a lesbian (I thought I had found the one)

Danny seems speechless for a second. His coffee hand finally stills. “Right,” he decides then. “Okay. I can see how that might be a problem.” He gives Steve an askance look, which doesn’t feel entirely fair, because he hasn’t even done anything.

8. Hit it, man

“I have to admit to some curiosity,” he says, and Danny thinks shit and has to keep his hand still to not go for the fake glasses again or the real gun strapped to his ankle. High class hitmen aren’t twitchy. Dr. Vos continues, “Neither of you took the other’s last name?”

9. Out of the rain, into the frying pan

“No,” Eric says. “I’d rather be a coward and live, if it’s all the same to you.”

“Good choice,” Danny says. Positive reinforcement, and all that jazz. “Never been more proud.”

10. #GaySpaghettiCouple

They settle back into the Camaro quietly, a heavy burden hanging over their heads. “She asked us to be gay,” Danny recaps, still with a buzzing in his ears that's slowly getting to his head. “For tourism.”

So... How’s everyone after Fridays stills... I wrote this afterwards in all the excitment, for Chapter two of Electrostatic Attraction:

His own branched scarring runs into Buck’s as he cautiously, tenderly puts his hand on the younger man’s shoulder, pushing aside the thin gown, thumb tracing the thin skin of his pulse point slowly, reverently. 

Like he did all those years ago in a sun-filled loft, as Chris had sat and watched cartoons after the worst 24 hours of  both his and Buck’s life. 

Gently, the pad of his thumb sweeps the red, feathered edges of the lichtenberg figure before he puts a bit more pressure behind it, until he can detect the staccato beat there. 

To feel Bucks pulse, like he did then that day as Buck tried to dodge his gaze, not trusting the monotonous beep of the ECG or soft, well-meaning  comments of the nurses. 

He has to know.

He has to feel it himself.

That Bucks heart still beats, that the endless whine of the flatline is resigned to only his memories.

i was tagged by @jinxddiaz​ (thank you!! 💖), and i did in fact already do this one, but it’s fun and i think i can drum up some different answers this time, so here we go again:

three ships: i’ll try for three different ones from last time, so - john/rodney (sga), hardison/parker/eliot (leverage), and uh. gonna sound very niche here, but billy tallent/joe dick, because they’ve been stuck in my brain since my last hard core logo rewatch.

first ever ship: i feel like i need to give a different answer for this too, and the only thing i can come up with right now is rosa/neuz from the hoe overleef ik (“how do i survive” - do not read hoe as hoe, my english speaking friends, these are books for kids) series by francine oomen. which. that’s digging deep.

last song: as of the time of writing this, 99 luftballons by nena! in general though (and in this case too), whatever was playing last in the top 2000, which makes me wonder, do... other countries... have a six day twenty-four hour a day music marathon of the democratically voted 2000 “best songs ever” on the public broadcast radio every year starting at christmas and ending right at midnight on new year’s eve, traditionally with bohemian rhapsody by queen playing as the #1 song right as the slightly too early fireworks are starting to go off all around you? or is that... not a thing?

last movie: woman they almost lynched!! which was a DELIGHTFUL surprise, in the sense that this is a movie from 1953 and i don’t think we’ve made many (if any) westerns with THIS MANY WOMEN in them in the almost 70 years since. it’s not perfect, and the overall message about gender roles is pretty messy and contradictory (especially by modern standards), but it’s FUN and very worth checking out if you’re curious about Ye Olde Western Movie: Women Are People Too Edition.

currently reading: these words i’m typing ha-ha ba-dum tsss. no, uh. still very slowly @redgoldblue’s advent calendar and also... a particular fic of mine in preparation for ?hopefully?? soon updating it with another chapter, and then maybe even another one after that. (i’m being vague about this as if i’ve written more than one multi-chapter fic on ao3 ever. i have not. the two year hiatus between chapters should tell you why, probably.)

currently watching: uh, well. two more movies, and then i’ll have reached my 365 goal for the year (though upon closer inspection, i have no clue how letterboxd is counting these) which i only recently set myself. (i’m thinking the last two will be arsenic and old lace & blazing saddles.)

currently consuming: nothing, but i had some of the chocolate my grandmother gave me for christmas earlier. <3

currently craving: the day i’ll finally stop coughing. it’s not covid, but it’s not fun either way.

so when ronan dreams he Creates Things and yea sometimes they’re the most fucked up nightmares you’ve ever seen but theyre still New things?? and that has never been the way kavinsky does things? first and foremost he is a Forger he’s the guy in the field who dreams up one hundred white mitsubishis until he gets them perfect and who takes drugs to get what he wants and to fall asleep and who has never known how to take the L and i’m pretty sure the common understanding is that prokopenko was just some fool who died and kavinsky recreated him but personally that is boring and maggie has always been like 18 steps ahead of modern men so instead i propose prokopenko, the guy who follows kavinsky around like a lap dog, the very same exact thing kavinsky accuses ronan of doing to gansey, was in fact the closest think kavinsky could get to dreaming up a version of ronan who could love him back
