Mistwalker / Twin Banshee Tour complete!
⛓️🖤⚔️🖤⛓️
Stoked to have spent the past four days on the road with these wonderful people, including my bandmates in Mistwalker and the awesome people in Twin Banshee.
A huge thank you goes out to everyone who came out to our shows in Ottawa, Hamilton, Guelph, and Toronto, and to the Dominion Tavern, Vertagogo, Jimmy Jazz, and Houndstooth for hosting us!
Thanks also to Unsucked, Nasu, and Nepenthe for joining us on stage and to Jocelyn, and all the wonderful folks at the Class HQ for letting us crash at your places!
A huge thanks also to Sewer Pool Productions, Fvck You Too Productions, World Eaters, and Chris Verge for their help in booking and promoting this run of shows.
Also a special shoutout to Chris Verge for pulling double duty with both bands, doing nine sets in four days, and driving us across the province.
Until next time, Ontario. 🤘

Miles Davis - Kind of Blue (1959)
Sixty-five years ago today, on August 17, 1959, Kind of Blue, the legendary album by the Miles Davis Sextet, was released. Featuring an all-star lineup of Davis, Julian “Cannonball” Adderley, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers, Jimmy Cobb, and Wynton Kelly on one track, the album is considered Davis’ masterpiece, the greatest jazz album ever recorded, and one of the best albums of all time. In addition, it is certainly also one of the most popular and influential jazz albums of all time, with its legacy extending well beyond the confines of jazz. Timeless and perfect, Kind of Blue is, as one reviewer put it, a “defining moment of twentieth century music”.

Guelph’s Nepenthe are a phenomenal band. Their blend of doom metal and black metal is absolutely gorgeous and reminds me a lot of groups like Woods of Ypres and Agalloch. It was a pleasure to join them at the Jimmy Jazz for the release of their new EP, ‘The Fading Promise of Tomorrow’, which you should definitely check out.

I'm not saying that Flowers Husbands is back in business...
BUT WHAT I AM SAYING IS, Scott choosing to be a (spoilers) cat (spoilers) just to mess with Jimmy is golden
Like anytime he mentions it, it's just a series of "oh yeah I'm planning to go invisible and steal Jimmy's shit"
And the rest of the cast is like "okay... Anything else?"
Scott's just like "... Ehhhhhh didn't really think the rest through... Probably be a rouge route. And thief-ish...so I can't steal from Jimmy"
No thoughts. Just Be Gay. Do Crime.

‘I have no idea how they decided to stand where they did, and with whom, but they did. Slowly they formed themselves into a big group … and I saw they couldn’t have got themselves into a better position’ – Art Kane
