Did You Know These Behind-The-Camera Secrets About The Dark Knight?
Every excellent story has many tiny tales in the background. The Dark Knight is no exception. The Dark Knight, a 2008 film, is a superhit for multiple reasons. The film gave birth to an iconic villain that will give goosebumps to people for centuries. No wonder it is the best superhero movie that is loved by all generations. Yet, even the dearest fans of the movie don’t know some interesting facts and incidents that took place behind the scenes. Have a look at these ten superb secrets that not many know. Flaunt all of these in front of your gang. All of these 10 below listed secrets are true, and were kept hidden. Interested? Go through the list and laugh-out-loud with your family and friends. The Dark
Secret 1: Heath Ledger’s Lip Licking Was For A Reason
So you thought the lip licking has some hidden meanings. Well, it does, but not what you all may be assuming. The frequent lip-licking of the character was basically a preventive measure. It was basically to avoid prosthetics from falling from the face. Gerry Grennell is the man who revealed the secret.
Secret 2: The Pause Was Pre-Planned
Heath Ledger made a pause during the hospital explosion scene. Many consider that it was an unplanned incident. But the happy event was a planned one. The misfire was scripted, and the comical reactions too weren’t a part of improvisations. Yet, the excellent creepy applause by the Joker in the scene when Jim Gordan was appointed as the Commissioner was an actual improvisation act. The actor deserves a great deal of praise for the same. Kudos to his craftsmanship!
Secret 3: The Interrogation Scene Had Some Real Action
Bale revealed a true incident in an interview. He said that the interrogation scene had Heath Ledger totally convinced and into the character. Enough said!
Secret 4: Heath Ledger Could Have Been The Real Batman
Yes. Christopher Nolan revealed that the filmmaker consulted Ledger to be the lead actor, on which the actor refused. Later, the 2005 film made him like the character of Joker. Eventually, the world got to see Christian Bale as the Batman and Heath Ledger as the Joker in The Dark Knight.
Secret 5: Some Scenes Were Shot By IMAX Cameras
The Dark Knight is famous for its cinematography too. Yet, who knew that cameras as ordinary as these IMAX cameras were used to shoot some of the scenes from the film? A total of six scenes were shot with the 15/70 IMAX cameras, with others being shot by the standard 65mm cameras. Kudos to the directors, nobody could find a trace of difference in any of the scenes.
Secret 6: A Stunt Driver Made The Semi Truck Flip Possible
The semi-truck flip scene is one of the highlights of the masterpiece. The scene was so accurately shot and delivered, that it left the viewers with an open mouth for a few minutes. Actually, a real stuntman made the scene possible. The man was Jim Wilkey, who was driving the truck during the shot. Marvellous!
Secret 7: The Secret Behind Ledger’s Exemplary Acting In the Dark Knight
The actor is a real mastermind. He made use of experimental methods to step inside the shoes of the character. As unbelievable as it may sound, the actor locked himself in a cell for six long weeks. The purpose was to peel layers of an unbalanced mind and get linked to the life of the character. It won’t be wrong to say that the actor gulped down the character.
Secret 8: Heath Ledger Made Michael Caine Forgot His Script Dialogues
The Dark Knight was a film of thousands of behind the scene memories for the actors. One such memory was when Michael Caine got so scared by the character of Joker on the sets that he forgot what he had to say in the scene. No, there is no fault of Michael Caine here. He had already rehearsed his dialogues well, but couldn’t control himself by getting amused by the Joker’s appearance. Don’t forget to appreciate the makeup artists of Heath Ledger.
Secret 9: Post-Production Work Added Magic To The Batman Growl
The Batman’s growl isn’t this deep in reality. It is undoubtedly the work of the post-production crew. Editing can make any voice change entirely.
Secret 10: The Role Of David Dastmalchian Was A Life-Changer For The Actor
David David owes many thanks to the movie, as it gifted him a character to be remembered for a lifetime. The character was wordless, but it spoke volumes about the potential of the actor. He got the most deserved acknowledgements for the role. It was an exceptional debut for David Dastmalchian.

Drive like John Wick: Attend stunt-driving school
CAMARILLO, Calif. - The tires on Jeremy Fry's Crown Victoria screech as loud as the planes roaring overhead while he tears along the tarmac of a local airport. Whipping around traffic cones until the car starts to drift, he suddenly slides sideways into a parking spot and stops firm, his demeanor as calm as if he had just pulled up to his house.
Keanu Reeves' driving double in "John Wick" and "John Wick: Chapter 2" is demonstrating some of his standard behind-the-wheel stunts during a visit to Bobby Ore Motorsports, a stunt-driving school where actors, stunt performers and everyday car enthusiasts can indulge their need for speed and experience the thrill of screeching tires.
Veteran stuntman Jim Wilkey runs the school in Camarillo, California, about 60 miles northwest of Los Angeles, and there are also locations in Florida and Georgia.
The orange traffic cones dotting the blacktop are markers for the various tricks in the curriculum, including the slalom, the forward 180 (slamming on the brakes and spinning the car 180 degrees), and the 90 (that perpendicular slide Fry did earlier).
"The techniques we teach out here can pretty much apply to any vehicle - except motorcycles and boats, obviously," said Wilkey, a former rodeo rider who switched to motor vehicles decades ago. He figures his most famous onscreen stunt may be the semi-truck flip in 2008's "The Dark Knight."
"I do a lot of stuff with the big-rig trucks," he said, "and I still apply a lot of the techniques that we teach out here."
Wilkey insists there's nothing special about the cars they use in class- two newer Mustangs and Crown Victoria police cars during a recent session - but movie cars can be modified extensively, from altering the brakes and suspension to outfitting the interior with a crush-proof cage, as in "The Dark Knight" truck flip.
All you really need is a working emergency brake and reliable transmission to pull off simple stunts like the forward 180, said Fry, who taught himself most of the tricks he uses on the job.
For the "John Wick" movies, he worked with stunt coordinator Darrin Prescott - a driver himself, who often practices at Wilkey's school - to come up with the auto antics. They work out their ideas with toy Hot Wheels cars before trying the stunts for real.
Sadly, they totaled - or "wadded up," in stunt parlance - all five 1969 Mustang Fastbacks used during the making of "Chapter 2," Fry said.
He's driven all kinds of cars onscreen, from buses and military vehicles to a vintage milk truck, doing jumps and chases and high-speed drifts. Next, Fry is off to Atlanta soon to do some driving in the "Black Panther" film.
Yet he doesn't hesitate when asked about his favorite driving maneuver: "Driving home at the end of the day," he said.

Popularized offensive training for youth and high school is to hit the ball where it is pitched. Outside pitches are to be hit the other way, and inside pitches are pulled. But is this actually what MLB hitters are doing? Is this being taught by top hitting professionals or are you being taught Hitting incorrectly? One could argue the great Tony Gwynn and Edgar Martinez both made millions pulling inside pitches and spraying outside pitches. But according to the analytics, these two hitters are a rarity in an era of baseball that is starting to be replaced. There is a saying in MLB clubhouses that talks about the $10,000,000 pitch: “If you can hit the outside pitch into the stands, you make $10,000,000.” Truth, as top hitters are required to hit for power. Likewise, to get recruited by the NCAA baseball or softball levels, you need to show power and the ability to pull pitches. “When we recruit, we are looking to see if the hitter can get their barrel to all pitches and drive the baseball. Consistently hitting the baseball the other way is telling me that you cannot turn on an inside pitch or lack the hand speeds required to produce at my level.” Stated NCAA baseball coach Sean Taunt. If we examine the data, in the 2016 MLB season, seventy four percent of all pitches thrown with one strike or less were located outside. Off speed pitches were considered “outside” because the batter must allow the pitch to travel. However, in those “hitter” or high fastball probability counts, sixty four percent of all batted balls were pulled. Further analytics show that when MLB hitters are ahead in the count, almost seventy seven percent of all batted balls were pulled. If we examine the averages in “hitter” counts, we will see the advantage is for hitters by a .72 batting average increase. This basically means that a .270 hitter is statistically a .342 hitter in a “hitter” count. Granted, not all statistics and analytics are full proof, but trends do exist. “There is a big, big difference between a guy whom can drive the baseball and a guy whom hits the baseball the other way. Both can hurt you, but one is extremely dangerous to the point that you have to pitch around him at times.” Stated MLB scout Ron Wilkey. The above analytics are contradicting popularized hitting approaches within youth and high school baseball and softball, and showing Major League hitters are pulling outside pitches with one strike or less. However, the deeper the hitter moves into the count or the more strikes they have against them – the more the ball is being hit to the opposite side. “As a big league pitcher, I have faced thousands on an MLB mound. Hitters pull outside pitches in hitter’s counts. If they cannot pull my outside pitches for base hits, they are not a threat in the lineup.” Stated former MLB pitcher Mike Sirotka. “If I left an outside pitch up, it was rocketed into the stands or gap most of the time. If I kept that outside pitch low, it was usually an out.” Stated former MLB pitcher Jim Parque. But again, popularized offensive training teaches hitters to spray the ball, or hit it where it is pitched. Savefrom bigleagueedge.comCopyright issueyou need to create FORCE & "force" is optimized through mass & acceleration hence F=MA. Barrel Weight can throw you off balance and hinder this process. #hittingmovement3Big League EdgePro Level Hitting Instruction “It is ridiculous to me to think that you can consistently hit the ball where it is placed. Do these hitters know what it takes to hit top level pitching? Obviously not. They are allowing the pitcher to dictate what the hitter does at the plate, and that is giving in.” Stated NCAA recruiter Marcellus Reynold. In 1998, Parque experienced a banner first half of the Major League season. However, in the second half, he did not win a single game. During that time, he started meeting with the best hitters in the American and National leagues. “I was struggling and needed to know why hitters were ruining my outings and potentially my opportunity to pitch at the big league level. So I met with all the greats and simply asked them to tell me what they were trying to do at the plate and how they accomplish it in practice.”Stated Parque. Parque went on, “What I found is that no matter the hitter type or where they hit in the line up, they all were trying to get their barrel in the zone early and keep it there longer. It boiled down to plate coverage.” This information is not available on the internet. Analytics cannot quantify it properly. And it proves why great hitters can drive outside pitches to the pull side consistently. The more a hitter can keep their barrel in the hitting zone, the higher the probability of making good contact. And the more barrel over the plate, the more a hitter can combat location – AND DO IT WITH THEIR HANDS.
