tell us your jeverus thoughts
Ahhhh there's so many of them anon,,,
For one, it's interesting how much these two somehow obsess over one another.
By logic and the way the book and movies would want to portray it, Sev should've kept on referencing Lily (though this isn't a good point because he does quietly live on and take care of Harry to atone for his mistakes that costed Lily's friendship and life), but instead he kept droning on about how Harry is just like his father. The image of James kept on haunting him and he didn't let the memories died out and move on from it, much like he did the memories of him and Lily. Like one comment I randomly read in a YouTube video said, Sev's "you're just like your father" is like seeing a bitter, divorced single mother chastising their child for acting up 😂
Meanwhile on the other side, like people I've seen around pointing, I do not get why James is so attached to bullying Severus in particular (especially baffling when he told Lily he's mean to Sev just because he existed, like? boy? care to explain yourself?) If he did hate dark arts and magic, he should've go against crueler Slytherins like Mulciber and Avery that 'deserved it' far more than this weird, quiet, friendless, poor half-blood that just likes to read and chill at the lake. Like seriously, the start of SWM is just him reading his book after the DADA test, completely alone, but James immediately zeroed in on him, like why??? If he did it for Lily's sake, his own jealousy and possessiveness, then by logic he should've stopped the moment Lily finally accepted his courting. He shouldn't have gone behind Lily's back and still exchange hexes with the guy who called Lily a slur. The way it's portrayed and written in the book made it feel like James is having an affair and it's never not funny to me
Overall, it's really interesting to dive in and read more into their strange relationship past 'popular rich bully vs poor weird kid'.
I don't know why Sev didn't put Sirius as his most hated person when this guy almost killed him.
I don't know why James is obsessed with tormenting Sev when actual mini DEs are out there 'bullying' kids with cruel hexes.
Thinking about them and their thoughts about eachother is so fun to me <3 had James been alive, would he still try to chase after his dear ol' Sniv and pull on his pigtails some more, or actually move on with his life?

What are your thoughts for these Snape ships: Sirius, James, Remus, Regulus, Lily I know you prefer a female OC but I would like your thoughts on the other characters with Snape
Honestly, I don't read a lot of shipping fics with Snape. He's one of those characters that doesn't need a partner to have an interesting story. I just want him to have loving friends and heal properly and be happy.
I never found Snily appealing. I am not fond of her. I prefer reading platonic Snily where they reconcile or where Snape moves on from her completely and drops her like a bad habit. The thought of these two together romantically gives me the ick.
Similar feeling for Remus. I don't like picturing this guy with anyone. The dynamic between adult Snape and adult Remus is so gross. There's something so manipulative and gaslighty the way Remus talks to Snape. Similar to how Dumbles talks to Snape. Snape was obviously uneasy around Remus in POA. Snupin gives me an even bigger ick than Snily.
Now Reggie, Jamie and Siri is where things get interesting.
I have never fully read a Jeverus fic. I began reading one or two and they seemed pretty good. But I don't know, I never fully read them. I like the potential of the ship but its not enough to keep me invested. Probably because James seems boring to me now.
Snack is more fascinating to me than Jeverus. I can't fully explain why. But Snape and Sirius seem more on equal ground, especially as adults. I also love both the toxicity of the ship or how the ship can be a facilitator in Sirius' redemption. I love Sirius redemption fics!
For me Jeverus is like Dramione and Snack is like Drarry. One just has more fire and passion you know. I know there's a headcanon where Sirius/James bully Snape out of a sense of internalized homophobia. But it hits harder for me when it's Sirius who realizes he liked Snape and he can't have him anymore because of how much he bullied him.
I have never fully read a Regulus and Snape fic either. I read one that was pretty good - Snape and Reggie were so cute together. But the level of marauder bashing was too much (lol yes as much as I hate the marauders sometimes the vindictiveness of the bashing is too much) so I stopped reading. I prefer Reg and Snape as friends. Too bad so many Regulus fics tend to bash Snape. It's a shame.
The only Snape ship fics I have properly read were for Snack. I'm not really fussy about shipping Snape with anyone.

In my opinion, Jeverus is a romantization of bullying
I completely agree! I also think that even if it is an Au, like ooc James Au where they’re friends and whatnot… that it’s still a romanticization of bullying, or Bully x Victim romanticization.
Even if James and Severus “make up”, if they confront the past- it’s just. It wouldn’t work out. That’s just my opinion at least.
James bullied Severus canonically just because he wanted to. Even if you take that out of his character- it’s still there in the original work. To me, it’s like trying to hide his past by taking it out. It’s not fixing the problem, even confronting their past, I feel like. James wouldn’t genuinely care. It’s just, not in his character to care. I see James as someone that manipulates others that he finds easy to control like Sirius, Remus and Peter. Though, Peter wasn’t as easy to control as he thought. Which led to him getting betrayed and later killed- My point being is. His feelings for Severus in my opinion IF genuine would be more so as a different kind of Power Grab. A way for him to feel like he’s still in control, like he’s the boss.
Similarly to Peter he’s someone that wants power, control, status, backing. But. Unlike Peter he wants to be the one in charge, the top dog. Peter wanted all of that but to be PROTECTED yet still Feared and respected. That’s why he followed James and then ditched when he found someone stronger. James wanting to be in control, the boss, that to me, is what his character is. He acts based on his own desires. I think, the reason James wanted Lily wasn’t actually because he loved her or was interested in her. I think it was a way for him to feel like he conquered two people who refused to follow him.
Lily at the beginning was hesitant, because of her friendship with Severus. Though, it was implied by JKR that she was ALWAYS interested in James because he was the “Bad Boy” type.
Severus openly rejected everything that James was about. Not necessarily by words but just by being himself. Here we have a kid who wasn’t seen as attractive, he was a Halfblood, poor, not popular. Someone that SHOULD be easy to control; be easy to get under James’ “wing”. But Severus sneered at him, rejected wanting to be in Gryffindor. He made it clear he wanted to be in Slytherin. The house James had animosity towards already.
So, I think. The reason why he got with Lily was to prove he could still have control. That he was still in charge. He took away the only friend Severus had, married her, and had a child with her. That was his way of getting back at the one kid that rejected everything that he was about by simply existing. It was also his way of getting back at Lily for being so hesitant to be friends with him. To me, I feel like. Even if Lily found out about the continued bullying, the going behind her back to torment others and such- with the fact that she had a SON, a CHILD with James she’d be stuck.
Lily wasn’t particularly rich. She didn’t come from a rich family, she was in a better financial situation than Severus, but she wasn’t rich. They lived around the same neighborhood before going to Hogwarts. If she got a divorce with James after having Harry.. she wouldn’t be able to support the both of them. She was essentially trapped in a relationship. James was from a rich family, he had money. He’d be paying for everything. Lily would likely lose so much during the divorce process as well, James would likely only lose a little bit of money. James could support them financially, Lily wouldn’t have been able to for a while. Especially since they were in hiding.
That’s why, I think it was a way to get back at the both of them. To make sure they knew he was in “Charge”.

thoughts on Crabbe/Goyle, Crabbe/Draco, and/or Goyle/Draco? also in terms of canon, what do you think happened to Goyle post-war?
thank you very much for the ask, anon!
in canon, crabbe and goyle are only ever really viewed by harry through the lens of their relationship to draco. indeed, the reader would be forgiven for assuming that both of them spend any time that draco isn't with them staring at a blank wall, not talking to anyone else or doing anything draco doesn't permit them to do or going anywhere without him, while draco - who is shown socialising with other slytherins, like pansy parkinson and theodore nott - only pays them attention when he wants something.
but something i am absolutely committed to thinking is that this is a classic case of harry "lack of object permanence" potter both being unable to comprehend people he's not interested in having lives and thinking that since malfoy is the member of the trio he considers the most important to his own life he must be the most important of the three generally.
instead, i am always struck in canon by the heavy implication - even prior to half-blood prince, in which it's stated outright - that draco doesn't have any actual friends, that he's quite lonely, and that harry never notices this.
and so my preferred way of thinking about these three is to read crabbe and goyle as each other's ride-or-die bff, and draco as someone they think of as a yapping terrier who follows them around and whom they humour.
which is to say, when it comes to vincent crabbe/gregory goyle... it's canon. they're the slytherin equivalent of romione, falling in love in snape's remedial defence against the dark arts classes while breathing a sigh of relief that draco passed first time.
and then when it comes to vincent crabbe/draco malfoy... it's a flop. crabbe's pining over goyle, while draco's driven to ever greater heights of clinginess and being insufferable by the realisation that the boyfriend he thought would be grateful he'd even deigned to look in his direction actually thinks he's annoying and mid.
[it's giving won-won and lavender.]
while they're at school, gregory goyle/draco malfoy is going to have the same issue.
but after it?
i think there's an awful lot to be said for pairings in which the people involved only end up together because of mutual grief - it's my preferred configuration of lilypad or jeverus, for example, and it's also one of the only circumstances in which i could ever see harmony working. and i think it would slap with droyle.
after all, goyle's lost his other half - and not only that, has lost him because of a spell he cast. draco's seen everything he believed was correct and certain about his childhood torn to pieces - including the fact that crabbe and goyle were faithful minions who'd always be there when he wanted them.
they're both going to be completely adrift and terrified about the future - not least because, assuming goyle gets out of azkaban too [which i think he would; i find it inherently plausible that harry insists upon the ministry issuing a blanket pardon for anyone eighteen and under who fought for voldemort], he's not exactly going to have the pick of the job market.
and so why shouldn't they have a little codependent cuddle? as a treat.

It really grinds my gears when people think they can psychoanalyze writers based on their writing. Like, no one does this with any other job. If a retail worker smiles at me I don't assume they are actually happy to see me. It's an act they put on for their job.
When I write fanfics, I treat the characters like they're actors in a play. Sometimes the role they are given is the villain, sometimes it's the hero. If I give a character a villain role it doesn't necessarily mean I hate that character, it just means they were the character who's canon storyline and personality best fit the role.
And if I write jeverus, it doesn't mean I'm trying romanticize bullying or whatever the fuck. It's because it fits the story I want to tell first and foremost. I'm one of those writers your lit teacher warned about, I've got themes and symbolism in my shit. When I was writing Norwegian Wood, I was inspired by the writings of WW1 and Vietnam veterans, at their disillusionment of the supposed heroism required to march into battle, their anger at these old men who sit behind desks, starting wars without thought for the young people who will have to fight and die in them, and I thought what better character to rip the scales from his eyes than James? And Severus, who is his mirror opposite on the other side, would be a perfect partner in this romance because they are foils and could really open each other's eyes.
And then I wrote a very one-sided jeverus in which James is a serial killer in His Masterpiece who is obsessed with Severus, much to Severus's horror. Again, I was writing it because I wanted to tell a particular story and James fit the part the best. Not because I actually think he really was a serial killer in canon. I had Sev play the role of a manipulative, cheating homewrecker in The End of the Affair, and I am very much a Snape fan. He was just the best character for that role.
Like if you don't like a pairing, it gives you the ick factor or whatever, then that's perfectly fine. I promise you, no one gives a flying fuck. But don't act like you know what's going on in the writers heads when they write it.

been thinking abt how the marauders era relationships would pan out in every universe and here are my thoughts!!
Wolfstar — lowkey controversial but I don’t think they’re soulmates — they’re more, kinda-wrong person, right time. I think they’d only end up together when things go to shit. Which is part of why I love them so much and why I love them in the canon universe. James and Lily are dead, Peter is a traitor, remus is unemployed and sirius….poor sirius. So yeah, They’re just two fucked up lads trying their best to love despite the world being against them. In universes where they don’t fall in love, can imagine they think the other’s a little off-putting or perhaps no really strong emotions. I think that’s why their connection in the canon universe is so special to me, because I just don’t think they’re relationship would be as prominent if circumstances were different (in other universes).
Prongsfoot — they’re literally soulmates. In every fucking universe. Sometimes, it’s platonic (tho never strictly), sometimes, romantic, sometimes an intense sexual bond as enemies?? Either way they’re always a little bit in love with each other. I do hc James as straight in the canon universe but yeah they definitely made out. And in other universes where James is queer they’re having the time of their lives. Anyways so yeah. Soulmates in every universe.
Jily — Love Jily! I see them as a first love situation. Some universes (like the main one) their love becomes immortalised. However, in others, maybe they move on and find other people, but since they were each other’s first love they always have a special place in their heart for each other <33
Jegulus — …………………………………………………………..
Prongstail — always doomed in the long run. Kinda childhood friends to lovers to ……. . A bit of unrequitedness because I don’t think James could ever love Peter enough. And in every universe Peter always has an inferiority complex and bottled resentment. They’re relationship rarely ends well.
Snily — ooh this is an interesting one. Similar to prongsfoot, I think they’re also a kind of doomed childhood-friend-to-lovers. Except I think that in the universes where Sev does not end being a bigot, they could probably date for a bit. They wouldn’t last tho and would remain as friends. In one universe Lily is an out and proud Lesbian and Sev is a closeted t-girl and they date for a bit but eventually decide to become friends (Lily still supports transfem!Sev in her transition tho). Canon universe tho,,, Sev had a crush on her and maybe Lily did too, but fifth year and James lol.
Nobleflower — ooooh love me some sapphic friends-to-star-crossed-lovers! I feel like in every universe they’d be on opposing sides, depending on circumstance.
Marylene — Friends to lovers, right person wrong time in the canon universe, but in other universes they’re thriving. They still would have had some sort of codependent, homoerotic friendship leading up to it lmaoo.
Dorlene — I like to think they’re always rivals in some context. Sometimes it leads to a fiery relationship, and sometimes it’s just aggressive sexual tension while they’re on opposing fields.
Jeverus — oooh people hate this but. Toxic rivals/enemies to lovers. Sometimes it works out, most of the time it doesn’t. The hate they hold for each is very strong but so is the sex
anyways this was fun!! Lemme know what u guys agree/disagree with! Maybe I’ll do a part 2 lol.

Dependence And Magnetism By OutcastDeity

Yay another Jeverus fanfic! I don't usually enjoy top!Severus, but this series is too good, so I made an exception for it. The dynamic between James and Severus in this fic is quite different from what you usually find in other fanfictions or the canon since the the characters are made to be OOC. I never thought I would ever read a fanfic where James is so much shorter than Severus lol it's kinda cute 👀
This is the longest typeset I've ever edited—620 pages in total! It took me a really long time to carefully check for errors and typos. One problem I kept facing while editing was overlooking blank pages and it's driving me CRAZY. Thankfully, I made sure to double triple checked the document before printing them out.
Main ship(s): James Potter/Severus Snape & Remus Lupin/Regulus Black
Thank you so much m.blakeart for this gorgeous art cover! ✨

Hi moon, sorry to dump in your inbox, but do you have recommendations for good prongsfoot/jeverus fics? I'm gonna be on a ~3 days trip stuck in a car with my siblings on each side and I really need something to pass time (and fortunately none of them can understand English or know about AO3 except maybe my brother but wtv). Thx if you can help me (love ur blog btw, you're maybe my top fave Snape blog)!
Hey mate, I appreciate the fact that you thought of me lol. For Jeverus I’m a little too lazy to list my fave fics since I’ve been asked that same question multiple times, so here’s an ask I answered a while ago, the ones I’ve mentioned are my personal favourites.
For Prongsfoot, unfortunately there aren’t many fics of the pairing, and my being picky and being a Snape fan certainly limits my options 😭 A good long-ish one I’ve read is Pioneers by inveracities, along with Black Bargain by DogStar234. I have heard of The Hopping Pot: the Adventures of Messrs. Padfoot and Prongs by Oceanicsignposts but I have yet to read it, I’ve had it stored in Notes for months 💀 (If you do end up reading it, please tell me your thoughts! Maybe all I need is a little extra push.) There are also a good few one-shots, such as How to Prune and Water Your Prongsfoot by JustAboutMidnight and Don’t Stop Me Now (A Tragedy in Three Acts) by Writcraft (this fic includes past Wolfstar btw) and Black by asterfortis.
I hope I helped, enjoy your trip! <3

Jegulus is just a Jeverus in a slightly different font. Marauders fans already push severus' entire personality into regulus nowadays
you know i have thought about this myself before. There are a lot of similarities between the ships, the underlying dynamic can definitely be compared, but there are also enough things that work for jegulus that do not work for jeverus, and vice versa (best friends brother, quidditch rivals, the prank)
For me i prefer jegulus because i like working off of canon and don't like snape, and because, quite honestly, my favourite thing about jegulus is the james&sirius dynamic.
I definitwly agree with you though that snape is being pushed away in marauders fics, especially in jegulus fics. I've talked about this before as well, because I realised I am very very bad at including snape in jegulus fics. I don't really knkw why, but for some reason the snape/james rivalry is near impossible to write in jegulus fics and I would love to figure that one out. I think it is a combination of james having to realise 'if regulus can be good while being a slytherin, then maybe snape is too', regulus not having anything to do with snape in canon, and the character developmrmt simply playing somewhere else. If i write a jegulus fic outside of hogwarts, i simply see no reason why james/regulus should be interacting with snape since they wouldn't go out of their way to seak contact
Would absolutely love to get other people's thoughts on this tho!

I have… many Jeverus thoughts. All one-sided, though (sorry, Sev!), though he would at least get laid in some of them.
I just love Snape hating James and also envying him and also wanting to do things that his brain immediately rewrites into not hot sex things, because James Potter is the worst, right? Definitely not interested in his gleaming eyes and flashing smile and stupid intelligence, right? I just like the idea of Snape getting all worked up and angry about James and Lily being together, then getting horny over it, then being horrified over realizing he’s horny for Lily and James. Or seeing James and Sirius engaging in some totally-just-best-friends shenanigans and trying to be “Oh, I’m so telling a professor about this!” but continually sliding into “… Potter seems really into giving head. I would not have thought that about him, but now I can’t stop thinking about it.”
I just want to make Snape’s life even harder with non-endgame Jeverus nonsense. ❤️
Do you have any James/Severus thoughts? It seems decently popular on AO3, but I admit I've never considered it before, so I was wondering if you have
I wouldn't say popular there, compared to like the more popular HP ships, Jeverus is smaaall. BUT It def has more that the teeny rare pairs.... ANYWAYS. I love the ship!! I am baffled how a certain ship (j*gulus) is more popular than this. I wanna say Jeverus is my first m/m marauders ship years ago. It was like Drarry (but def they are NOT the same, I just mean similar in certain aspects like Gry/Sly, a bit of a rivalry but uneven compared to Drarry.) We got two brilliant minds! A enemies to lovers. Snarky and quick witted Sev. They are both mean, hahahaa. There's a lot of potential with them. They have history together, neither having their hands clean in how they treated each other. I like them being good for each other, esp Sev with someone who will be more forceful with showing how he shouldn't go down the DE path. Don't get me wrong though, the ship def can be easy to go a more toxic route too. I love any iteration of the ship. I like to see what ways it can be taken. How good or worse they make each other.

What's your opinion on the marauder era ships?
Thanks for asking! I'm giving a short and simplified answer and only including ships I've seen or thought about.
My personal opinions:
Ronks and Prongsfoot over Wolfstar. But one-sided Wolfstar with Remus having a crush on Sirius until the prank happens and their friendship is nearly destroyed? Amazing, and could easily coexist with both Ronks and Prongsfoot.
Prongsfoot over Jily, Jily over romantic Snily but platonic Snily over both of them. Lesbian Lily with an unnamed nice woman or alternatively Pandora Lovegood over any of them.
Jegulus is fine, Snegulus is good but only with both of them being complete whores not looking for commitment. Snucius is fine but nowhere near Snucissa. I'm intrigued by the idea of Regulus and Peter but it has to be toxic or I don't want it.
Does anyone ship James and Remus? Haven't seen it and that's probably for the best. Jeverus seems ok but again it has to be toxic. Snupin I could see myself loving, if it's when they're both teaching or in an au where Severus gets turned into a werewolf because of the prank.
I think that's everything I've thought about. I will not elaborate unless asked. Thank you.
I will accept fic recommendations based on this. I'm terrible at looking for things I like.

Hcs for slytherin!james?
He was devastated at first since he's a proud descendant of the great Godric Gryffindor, and now he's their family's only Slytherin
^ but he'd settle in nicely in the snake's den after he busied himself with Quidditch and gained lots of friends and fame
He saw with his own eyes how not all Slytherins are evil like he thought of before. There's actually non-purebloods, as well as decent, nice purebloods in this house!
^ And he experienced first hand how unfairly judged Slytherins are by the rest of Hogwarts, especially Gryffindors
^ Opened up his eyes to a more nuanced perspective, and he became much less judgmental and one-sided than canon Gryff!James
On one hand, I want Sirius to also be in Slytherin, but on the other hand, Sirius Black becoming a Gryffindor and James Potter a Slytherin is absolutely hilarious
^ The duo of all time. Ended house rivalry. They hang out with each other more than they do with their own housemates.
^ Marauders never gets established, therefore no animagi. It's only Sirius and James.
He's one of the most popular Slytherins; he's from a respectable pureblood family, he's good looking, rich, smart, and their Quidditch team's star Chaser
Slughorn adores him. He believes he's ol' Sluggy's favorite snake eventhough he's not that invested in potions
James made sure to stay away from the people he suspected as DE supporters/recruits, and try to convince his fellow Slytherins to do the same
^ This earned him quite a mixed reputation among the Slytherins (and Gryffindors)
Still does his 'pranks' alongside Sirius, but a bit smarter about it and they managed to avoid detention most of the time
Goes into fights a lot with Mulciber and Avery since he still insists on refusing to have anything to do with Dark Arts
^ The two call him a hypocrite for his 'pranks' and mock him for being a blood traitor
Speaking of the duo, he shares a dorm room with Mulciber, Avery, Rosier, and Snape! (RIP)
He would either be besties with Regulus, or they'd absolutely despise each other (it has everything to do with Sirius) (and Quidditch) (and Pureblood politics)
And the rest of these are more jeverus-adjacent, but could be read as platonic too :3c
THE classmate who laughed the loudest and teased the longest when Sev was struggling to mount a broom during their first flying lesson
He'd have a secret admiration (and jealousy) of Sev since he sees firsthand how Sev is so dedicated (and weirdly enthusiastic) to his potions research, his studies, and even cheering on the Slytherin Quidditch team
^ (Sev literally just sometimes watches their practices and games but James counts it as a huge, insanely ooc gesture lmao)
^ He also saw firsthand the bullying and shaming of Sev's blood status from their housemates
^ He might be hostile towards Sev, but his heroism and 'I can fix him' mentality wins
Despite their early tension, both James and Sev managed to warm up to each other and settle their differences after one too many confrontations with the other three dormmates
James would drop comments on how Sev needs to stop burying his nose in books and enjoy the sun (like watching their team's practices and games, wink wink)
Made sure that Sev isn't going to be swayed by the DE lot since he knows how crafty and smart Sev is, and how dangerous the other side could be if they have him; so he made extra effort to befriend Sev and pull him towards the 'light' side
After hearing about Sev's family situation (through Sev himself or via Lily), he stopped mocking his looks and started to gift him stuff every Xmas
^ He'd also softly tell Sirius to leave Sev alone (making up excuses of course so that Sirius wouldn't feel like James is warming up to the dungeon bat)
He still struggles a lot to not be overly sarcastic or mean when he talks to Sev (it's just so hard to when he's Snape) but he makes a conscious effort to be nice and patient towards him
Sev would tutor him in Potions, while he tutors Sev in Transfiguration
^ They would make bets and challenge each other to see which one of them would get more house points
^ This, in turn, made the Slytherins more friendly and accepting towards Sev (because he racks up those pts like his life depended on them, like hell he'd lose to James Potter)
He'd actually open his mind to Dark Arts after years of knowing and befriending Sev, and see that having knowledge in it would bring benefits that people often overlook
^ He would ask tons of questions to Sev (which Sev would begrudgingly and happily oblige)
He feels kinda proud that he gains Sev's friendship, like he'd just befriended a Bearded Dragon; it's something special and not a lot of people get this close to the prickly git
Lily would get jealous that her best friend is being pulled away by the arrogant toerag LOL

I hope you don’t mind me asking all these questions but I really wanted to know:
What ships do you love? What ships do you neither love nor hate, simply tolerate? And what ships do you absolutely hate?
Also, if you like Drarry, can you explain why? Was there something in canon that turned you to it or was it just some fanfics that you’ve read and enjoyed the ship in those specific stories? (If you don’t ship drarry, you can ignore this)
Hi anon!
I am assuming you just mean HP ships?
If so, there are no HP ships I love. I have ships I find intriguing, fun, funny or cute like Snirius, Drarry, Lucissa, Druna, Dreville and Dron. In most cases, I started liking the ship due to fanfiction and not purely because of canon. Because that's mainly because I am not a shippy person. I don't watch much media but I can't think of a single romance that truly wowed me, really shook me.
I absolutely hate Jily. Can't stand it. I hate Wolfstar. I strongly dislike Hinny and Romione. I can dig the premise but I don't like the execution of Hinny and Romione. Any ship with Remus and Lily in general. I tried Snupin a few times and I just could not do it. It also doesn't help that I dislike most of the characters involved in these ships.
Ships I tolerate? Bill and Fleur is meh. They seem cute and I liked Fleur's line about being pretty enough for both her and Bill when he got mauled by Greyback. But I don't care about either character much for me to actively ship them. I am fine with Drastoria overall but I am not a fan. I care little for Astoria and I hate the idea that she is responsible for Draco's redemption. Pass me on that. Percy seems to have cute relationships with his girlfriends. He was such a sweetheart with Penelope! For the other ships like Cho/Cedric, Neville/Hannah etc, I don't know much about them to care.
I want to like Dramione...but I dislike Hermione too much. Plus, I hate how Draco and Hermione are portrayed. Even if I find a Dramione fanfic writer who develops the relationship well...there's Hermione still and I don't want Draco with her. Same with Jeverus too. I do like the concept of James being obsessed with Snape and it leading to a toxic or redemptive romance, but I am not interested in James enough to read one. Plus, my tolerance for slash fanfiction is waning.
Drarry for me is very complicated. I have a love-hate relationship with Drarry. I like Drarry for many reasons.
First of all, I am a Draco fan - he's my favourite character. And the best Draco fics tend to lean towards Drarry. I got into HP fanfiction because I wanted a Draco story and it turned out to be a Drarry fic. I feel like Drarry fics tend to explore Draco's character very well and in very interesting ways. Unlike Dramione where Draco is usually horribly OOC. Drarry fics are top-tier.
Second of all, I like the Drarry meta here on Tumblr. While I do not believe romantic Drarry ought to be canon, I do feel like the story suffered by not exploring the Drarry relationship more. Draco and Harry foil each other and have such interesting and entertaining dynamics that I am very disappointed how JKR ended Draco's story in the books.
So basically I got into Drarry through fanfiction and then I learnt about canon more, and I had even more appreciation for the ship.
However, I have moments where I hate Drarry. I don't like Harry much and it would be nice to have a good Draco-centric fic where Harry is not involved. I used to like Harry well enough when I mainly knew his character through analysis and Drarry fanfiction. But as I actually interacted more with the source material...I just don't like him. I hate Harry as a protag and the thought of him with Draco makes me sick sometimes. The daily posts from my mutual iamnmbr3 about Drarry moments in HBP and DH revived my interest in this ship and I have told her that lol. She sucked me back in :')
Sorry, this took so long anon! I had it in my drafts for weeks and forgot about it. Hope my answer satisfies your curiosity :)

Things I Have Thought About Harry Potter And Its Fandom Over The Past Few Months
What about a story where they go through all that shit and Hermione’s the one that kills Voldy what about that
James calling Sirius baby just as his QPP is my entire fucking life rn -
I really DON'T wanna go to Hogwarts, I mean, all the essays and frog choirs and uniforms and communal showers and those STUPID hats I mean what about all the shit from all those fucking pets jezus fucking cryst also who the fuck wants to go to a school where you're THAT LIKELY TO DIE I mean -
Jeverus is just the gay revamp of Megara and Hercules sorry I don’t make the rules
Sirius and Severus should’ve become friends in sixth year after the Prank and the Incident because they both know what it’s like to lose the love of their life to their own stupidity
Can someone. Somewhere. PLEASE. Make a Marauders/Wolfstar edit that is HAPPY -
James and Lily shouldn’t have gotten married or had a baby, at least not nearly as young as they did, fuck
I would pay actual money to see the Marauders freak out over a cellphone
Why didn’t Sirius and Remus just steal a Time Turner and use that to save James and Lily and arrest Peter that feels really obvious and it's not like they're DUMB oh wait
Okay okay but hear me out: Sirius and Remus = Astrid and Hiccup
Harry is a Hufflepuff and Hermione is a Ravenclaw sorry I don’t make the rules
Okay but like,,,,,,,,, what about Fleur Delacour as a POC???
Hating someone based on which fictional characters they like is the equivalent of telling someone they’re a bitch because they don’t like apples AKA stupid AKA illogical AKA leave us the fuck alone and take your toxic bullshit elsewhere just let people live their own lives and don’t be a dick, okay?
Regulus deserved better
Loony Luna Lovegood Lupin is the FUCKING BEST also I love Newt Scamander and I will protect him with my fucking life and soul -
I. Am. So. TIRED.
Severus Snape is my favorite person in the world and I will defend him to the death no matter what anybody says. I'm a kind, strong, smart person who can make my own decisions and won't let anyone bully me into changing, because I deserve to have my own opinions and enjoy what I enjoy, even if it bothers other people, because I'm not going to attack anyone for disagreeing with me. I know who I am. I know who Severus Snape is. And I know that he's a hero and a good person.
Come at me. I'm ready.

Hot opinion: James Potter had a "bad person developed better morals because of love for Lily" arc just like Snape did, and we deserve more content exploring the characteristics and themes they had in common. Thoughts?
I mean, yes, in that all the marauders parallel Snape in some way. However, out of all of them, James is the one who parallels him the least because he’s the least developed as a character. I’d love to explore their existing parallels though, but I doubt that it’d be well recieved by fandom. Most Snape fans dislike James, though a few are indifferent (Jeverus fans are the only real exception). And James fans detest Snape, I’ve found no real exceptions to that rule. (Though I’m sure they exist somewhere). Of course I’ll probably do it someday.
The problem with characters like James is that since we know so little about him it’s hard to state anything with any certainty. Most is just speculation. My interest in him is mostly due to his relationship with the marauders, in that I feel that he’s the glue who held them together, and that they were more James friends who were friends with one another by their relationship with him more than they were a group like the golden trio. I’m fascinated in exploring that. His relationships with Lily and his parents is something that I find less interesting, because while I can make James come to life in my head when I play him off of Sirius and Remus, and I can make Lily (another barely existant character) come to life when I play her off of Snape, I can’t really find much of interest in their relationship, since the two of them are barely developed in text.
Though yes, finding the similarities and differences he has with Snape is an interesting excercise that I might do someday. It’s something that I’ve never really seen. (I mean, I have, but only as a way to make one of them look better, mostly done by obnoxious fans of one of the characters, never as purely an attempt at analysis).
Thanks for the ask!

Thoughts on Snape Ships
As requested by anonymous
One I Like:
Snily (he truly loved her I just think he showed it the wrong way)
Ones I Don’t Ship but I Can Understand:
Snarry (the whole Harry sees Snape in a different light after the war seems to be popular and it makes sense to me if it’s written in that way.)
Snupin (I suppose he could have not condoned the bullying of Snape because he was in love with Snape.)
Snack (this is way to similar to Drarry for me to like but yeah I suppose their hatred for each other could theoretically be sexual tension)
Snames/Jeverus (I surprised to know that people ship this but it could work if James realized he was only being a dick to Snape because he liked him and not because he was in love with Lily)
Ones I Don’t Understand (please explain why you like them so I can understand your love of them)
Snaco
Snucius
Snellatrix
Snarcissa
Snamione
Snumbldore
Snagrid
Snockhart
Ones I Hate:
Sneville (If you do you ship it please explain why you like it)
Snape/Voldemort (I don’t know the ship name for this one but I don’t like it because I don’t think Voldemort was really capable of loving anyone but Nagini)
