RI Comic Con 2024 Bits and Bobs and Pics
Yes I know it's now a week later but, y'know, stuff happens sometimes.
-If you ever have the opportunity to meet Matthew Lillard, please do yourselves a favor and do so. He is just the nicest guy. He walked up the autograph line giving high fives. During this little jaunt, the woman in front of me told him she loved him. He hugged her and then told her she had terrible taste in men. He was giving everyone hugs so when it was my turn, I asked if I could give him a hug. He told me to hug the hell out of him. :) And he gives phenomenal hugs. Just a lovely man who enjoys meeting the fans.
-I met Skeet Ulrich, you guys! I have liked him since The Craft! He is also a lovely man who is very personable and easy to talk to and also greeted me with a hug. (*swoon!*) I brought my Jericho DVDs for signing, which he seemed surprised to see. We had a little chat about it, haha.
-I also met Rose McGowan because like, Charmed. She is also lovely and surprisingly tiny! Paige looks taller, I guess. Anyway. What was really amusing is that most people were coming to her with Scream or Charmed memorabilia but then I rocked up to her with my Once Upon a Time book (because wee Cora!), haha. She was impressed with how many autographs I had in it. :)
-Jennifer Morrison was there so you know I had to go say hi. She was her typically lovely self and we had a nice little chat about friends getting other friends hooked on TV shows, haha.
-Right next to Jen was Soleil Moon Frye, who I had to meet for six-year-old me. I told her I was sure she had been hearing it all weekend, but Punky Brewster was such a large part of my childhood. So much so that I remember being in first grade and playing Punky Brewster on the playground and dressing as Punky for the Halloween dance/party thing in second grade. She was really appreciative and I really don't think she had been expecting the warm reception she would get from the fans. She seemed genuinely touched. She also had pretty much every color marker under the sign for autograph signing, which amused me because how Punky!
-This was also the first year I did selfies at the table as opposed to the pro photo ops, mostly because my gallery wall is pretty dang full at this point. Honestly, I think I like the selfies better! You get more time with the actor and they're less rushed.
Here be my selfies and a pic in a model DeLorean:

🧡BOOK REVIEW🧡
Villainous by Lou Wilham.
Villainous is a different type of novel for me and being truly honest, it's the first novel I've read that has a character who refers to themself as both he and she. I don't think there's many out there or at least not in the mainstream.
The chapters in Villainous follow Jericho and it switch between he and she, at first it was a little hard to wrap my head round thinking it was another character but after awhile it became normal and I didn't think anything more of it.
I did enjoy this story immensely and the premise was great, it bordered on the morally grey area of who actually is wrong and who is right, are the heroes actually villains and the villains heroes? Are such things as black and white as they appear?
I loved Jericho - the Hero, the character fought for what was right and was fiercely loyal even when their beliefs were questioned.
Soleil aka Dusk - the villain, was fabulous! I loved him, he had spunk, wit and was just damn adorable.
He always had a game to play and you never knew if and when he was playing it.
The storyline and the build up was great to read and gave an insight into Sol and J's previous relationship, I loved Sol and J's witty remarks and banter to each other and laughed at “You’re not a fucking househusband, you’re a convict.” comment.
The story for me took a surprising turn and the twists were great, I loved that ending - from chapter 19 to the end for me had me on the edge of my seat rooting for the gang.
The previous chapters were a great build up and certainly eye opening - I think my jaw was on the ground with the revelations!!

How would Ciel's parents react when they meet "The Bad Boy" Jaune?
Jaune was walking down some Mantle streets, doing a solo Patrol for the day, keeping an eye out for trouble. Unfortunately he was so attentive for trouble that he didn't notice the portal that opened up right in front of his feet. Just as soon as he fell forward, his momentum suddenly shifted backwards as gravity shifted between planes, causing him to land on his back on a dusty carpet floor of an abandoned office suite. As soon he tries to get up, he feels a hard light blade rest under his chin.
???: So we meet at last, demon.
Jaune: W-Whistler?
???: Who?
Jaune looks up to see a dark skinned man with piercing blue eyes and even sharper looking blade made of light.
Jaune: Oh sorry, this just feels familiar. What's your name?
???: *Presses the blade closer to Jaune's neck* My name is Jericho Soleil, Ciel's older brother and guardian. The very same girl you have been terrorizing with your cruel intentions. Now, before I decide your fate, I have on very important question. *Leans in with malicious aura only a protective older brother can have* What are your intentions with my sister?
Jaune: *Gulp*
2 hours later...
Jaune: *sitting criss-crossed across from Jericho on the floor* Wow. Ciel really thinks that way of me? I knew she didn't like me but... god I just feel terrible!
Jericho: *sitting across from Jaune with a pensive look* Indeed, but I must admit. After talking with you I just don't see it! Her tales described you as a salacious beast that preys on women!
Jaune: *Visibly cringes* Jeez, I know I was a bad flirter, but I really tried to tone it down after the first month. I haven't even made a single pass at Ciel since then. You said she's having nightmares about me?!
Jericho: *Nods solemnly* Horrible ones, images of you looming over her in her sleep. I was about ready to slit your throat until I actually spoke to you. I am rather confused. You are nothing as Ciel depicted.
Jaune: *Looking incredibly saddened* Still, I must be doing something wrong to have Ciel hate me this much... I'm... I'm so sorry Jericho, I never meant to hurt Ciel. I promise, I'll never bother her again.
Jericho: ... I believe you, Jaune Arc. I'd forgive you if I honestly believed you were at fault. It's part of my line of work to see through people, and I see nothing but earnestness in your eyes. *Stands up and helps Jaune to his feet.* Clearly there is a miscommunication here, I'll talk to Ciel and investigate this further.
Jaune: Thankyou, and please, if there's anything I can do to help let me know. I hate to think I'm making things hard for Ciel.
Jericho: *Smiles* I will. And who knows, once I clear things up with Ciel, maybe you two can start fresh again? *Leans in* I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of you two becoming friends or maybe even more~?
Jaune: *Blush* I-I appreciate it, and it's not like I don't find Ciel beautiful, but I'd rather focus making life less difficult for her.
Jericho: *chuckles* Don't count yourself out just yet Jaune Arc, life tend to work in mysterious ways.

1/4 deity sets + mirah wearing a coat he found and not realizing who it used to belong to
welcome to where im gonna ramble about funny little deity cards for a bit my god. look at these two <3 mirah is the reincarnate of the deity adomir, and stolas was adomir’s acolyte/best friend and became a deity too just through association and im so <3 theres also mundakh, solomon, and beou, who Also get reincarnated, and Their acolytes who i need to redesign and develop more,, so far its mostly just. a general story concept of “four reincarnates finding out theyre deity reincarnates in the middle of the 1920s and also a war is happening and Everything is fucked. help them. mirah is too young for this he’s like. 10. im very excited for this comic and the fact that most of the first part of the story is just gonna be 4 different stories following each reincarnate going wild and not knowing the fact they even had a past life also cant wait to have stolas sometimes feel bittersweet over mirah doing familiar things, doing things similar to what adomir would do, and going. :’( but also being like. ‘you, small little man, have so much curiosity and want to learn everything and i will do everything i can to help you to learn and to help others’ also last thing but, the four deities represent a Lot more things than these, but its shorter to call it this: mundakh/jericho - deity of clockwork and craftsmanship adomir/mirah - deity of exploration and documentation solomon/soleil - deity of medicine and agriculture beou/oleander - deity of culture and celebration stolas - deity of knowledge and excitedly infodumping on any given thing when he has the chance
#artists on tumblr#original character#oc mirah#oc stolas#deity cards comic#my art#on one hand that second image is adorable because thats a coat way too big for him#on the other hand. thats the coat of one of the most influential deities on that planet who died and is mirah's past life. kinda dark#soleil and oleanders names might. change but for now they're gonna be that#also no he is not named after the hazmat bitch go look up ACTUAL stolas

A (Long) Update About My Blog
Hello Friends Old and New!! 💖
It’s been awhile since I gave everyone an update on my blog, and I feel like its something I want to do to keep everyone updated on what is, what's been going on and what’s to come with my Sims Content and what is changing in 2021.
To begin with, as I have explained in the past, I decided to update my editing style, making my posts brighter, cleaner and larger than before. Seeing from where we’ve gone since we began the LaFontaine Legacy, its amazing to see.
I have also begun using very basic game CC to make my Sims more dynamic, adding blush and shine to their faces along with some wrinkles. There are a few instances of extra CC (some shirts, some glasses etc) but nothing overt. I began my Legacy using no CAS CC beyond a skin blend and eyes and adjusting to more has been anxiety inducing, but none the less, I’m glad I took the dive.
As of today, December 5th 2020, we have 137 posts left of Generation Three. According to my current posting schedule, this means that we will be entering Generation Four on January 7th of 2020. We have over 900 pictures edited and waiting to be posted and I am so excited to begin our new step in our Story.
In new news, while I have been waiting for my queue to finish (around six months in total) Being stuck in quarantine, I have been inspired to begin separate stories on the side to add to my blog. As I have diversified my editing and my Sim style I have wanted to expand my stories to a couple of other challenges on the side and I would love to hear your opinions about whether or not I should share my other stories alongside LaFontaine in 2021.
To begin with, I started the Midnight Sun Challenge, which follows the story of Soleil Cunningham as she washes up on the beach with no memory of her previous life. I have just reached up to Generation Two of the Challenge.
I started the Zodiac Challenge, in which Becca Jericho begins her life in Evergreen Harbor, inspiring political change in her hometown. I’m still on Generation One of this Challenge, as its more story based than the other and is goal oriented according to the Zodiac Challenge Rules. It’s a lot of fun :)
I’m halfway through Generation Three of the Not So Berry Challenge in which the grandchild of mint loving scientist Korrie Menthus takes on the mysteries of space in a homemade rocket ship so to explore the galaxy.
Along with these stories, I have the Sims made for an in depth redo of my Berry Pastel Rainbowcy, finally dipping my toes back into the Berry Community in Sims 4 after having lost my beloved Mousse save back when the Pets Expansion came out and destroyed a great deal of personal saves.
So far, there is a lot of content I have been playing with in the hope to share, while I am in the midst of balancing a group effort over at @cloudbursts4 where four other Simmers entrusted me to begin the ‘Round Robin Legacy’ Challenge, as the Generation One Founder, Liam Cloudburst.
And so that’s the present update that I have for you all. Many projects on the go, and stories I want to share with you but am unsure how to implement to my otherwise single Legacy Blog. I would love to hear your opinions on it all.
With the Holiday’s on the horizon, I would like to reach out to all of my followers with an earnest thankyou for your continued support in reading my content. I will be opening up Sim Requests for those looking to add a little bit of squish style to your stories. I will be accepting requests as of December 7th 2020, and will be adding a ‘Sim Request Application’ tab to my Updated Layout, consider this an early gift with a potentially indefinite openings throughout the season.
So I hope this is the update you didn’t know you needed. Thankyou all for being a big part of my daily life. Your support has inspired me to create again and after the stresses of 2020, I am grateful to have an outlet to share my creations with all of you who are equally passionate about the Sims and storytelling. I look forward to 2021 and all it has to offer for this beautiful community we’re all in.
Keep Safe and Healthy Throughout the Season and Stay Excellent!! 💕

I must have been five years old the first time I discovered pro wrestling. My earliest memories were asking my mother to let me stay up late enough to watch Thursday Night SmackDown on UPN. In a tiny piece of section 8 in the middle of West Bronx. I think it had to due with a mutual love for superheroes as a child. For two hours once every week, I got to see wars of superheroes live in my shared bedroom. It was a nice escape for a kid to have. Bad guy cheats, good guy wins. Everyone loves the hero. Everyone hates the villain. Simple enough for a five year old to understand.
My first favorite wrestler was Goldberg. Even if you never saw the stuff, you knew Goldberg was the prototypical wrestler imagined in your head. Staggering. Juiced to gills. Tribal tats and all black spandex. Screaming and sweating his bald ass off into a microphone. You saw this guy walking down a street, you know what the fuck he does for a living.
A little while after my introduction to SmackDown, I picked up on enough to know who was who and what was what. Why heels were violent. Why babyfaces put so much on the line every week. My new favorites tended to be smaller wrestlers that could make me laugh or get an ooh outta me from their Cirque de Soleil acts. Booker T. Rob Van Dam. Eddie Guerrero. Chris Jericho. These were the ones I felt could be a bit more relatable to someone standing 3 feet tall. I could tell most of them would be Marvel guys because they never shut up. Always had some catchphrase to hock on a t-shirt. Vivid costumes, music blaring through the CRT speakers, Mortal Kombat-style finishing move. How couldn’t I love this?
I moved from project housing to the suburbs of North Carolina when I was seven. Culture shock wasn’t big enough a word to describe my life. Too much adjustment to new circumstances meant I couldn’t keep up with wrestling world anymore. So it fell out. I heard kids on the metal slides of recess talk up a big game about John Cena but I was too out of orbit with the rest of the world to keep up on anything outside my new home.
I remember what brought me back into that orbit. I got off the bus from an exhausting day of fifth grade. I check into my family’s mail sitting next to our apartment’s front door. A catalog ad for junk television shows and movies new to HBO. Then I see it. Royal Rumble 2008. A 30-Man Free for All! Long story short, I was crash landing on wrestle world and I had no intention of leaving.
Four years later, I was in deep on mark life. 10th grade wrestling encyclopedia. Could tell you the history of the WWF, WCW, ECW, Total Non-stop Action, Ring of Honor, WrestleMania, Starrcade, CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, I was in deep. But to be honest with you, I was getting so bored of WWE by this point of my life. Following stories didn’t reward me. My favorites would do nothing of interest. Title matches were meaningless. Worst thing? It didn’t feel cool anymore. It was never cool, but more in that nerd cool. Like Toonami or cape movies. But now my wrestling didn’t have either. It was just this three hour addiction to mediocre fights featuring guys that didn’t give a shit anymore. I had my eye on other promotions across the States and worldwide but nothing was the same.
Fast forward to two months ago. I’m twenty-three at this point. Shackled in quarantine during the worst plague of a lifetime with my girlfriend by my side and my studies behind me. Nowhere is safe. Lockdown meant stay home and find some new way to entertain myself. I went through every comic I owned, half my video games, binged all five series worth a damn on Netflix until I decided....”Shit. I haven’t seen a match in forever.” An insight into New Japan Pro was the single spark I needed to get back deeper in the hole than I ever had been. Now I learning the history of puroresu from Rikidozan to Kazuchika Okada’s five time IWGP title reigns. I could sit through 70 minute matches commentated in a language I don’t speak a bit of like it ain’t shit. For the first time though, I knew I wasn’t looking at this like comic books. I was a 20something dork watching wrestling and analyzing that shit like it’s film school. It is. Maybe that’s why I’m obsessed. Maybe this stuff is theatre for proletariat. I’m not that quite far up my own ass, give It another year. Maybe Shakespeare was wrestling before it was Shakespeare. In an age where a Tarantino can riff on tropes for Westerns and get auteur praise, I’m never sure why wrestling can’t do the same. Maybe when we’ve collapsed into a post-plague apocalypse we’ll look at ancient Youtube clips of Bret Hart vs Stone Cold and wonder how a society that sophisticated fell so far into abyss.
In conclusion: there’s a straight line between Chekov and Curry Man vs Shark Boy.

Listed: Tomás Nochteff (Mueran Humanos)
Mueran Humanos, an Argentinian duo now based in Berlin, mixes post-punk, industrial-inflected synth explorations, garage rock and psychedelia. Carmen Burguess and Tomás Nochteff share vocal duties and play a very basic line-up of instruments: bass, synths, drum machines and samplers. In his review for Dusted, Andrew Forell called their latest, Hospital Lullabies, “a thrilling concoction of electronic, industrial, bass-driven body music fueled by the transgressive spirit of a DAF or a Psychic TV.” Here, Tomás presents his list of visionary music.
A list of visionary music
What is a visionary? Visions can come in dreams, in journeys to other worlds, in hallucinations. They can be the product of will, of a derangement of the senses, or they can come uninvited to save you or to haunt you and destroy your mental balance, even your life. It can be heavenly, or hellish, but to be authentic visions they have to be otherworldly. And to be visions rather than just imagination, they must have an element of truth. Not literal truth, like “that wall is green,” but a different kind of truth, the one that´s expressed in symbols, in metaphors, in omens and obsessions. In “Heaven and Hell,” Aldous Huxley analyzed the visions of people under the influence of psychedelic drugs, the visions of mystics and the visions of schizophrenics. He found fundamental parallels and concluded that they must have been visiting the same places. These people are not merely hallucinating, but they are perceiving another reality, visiting a different world, or maybe they are perceiving the world as it really is. And he quotes Jung on this: “schizophrenics and mystics are on the same ocean, but schizophrenics are drowning and mystics are swimming.” A visionary could be a mix of all these archetypes. Like Philip K Dick: was he on drugs? Yes. Was he mad? Yes. Was he seeking enlightenment? Yes. Had his visions an element of truth? No doubt about it. Were his visions revelations? To some extent, yes.
On our last album, Hospital Lullabies, the songs deal with all these different experiences on the journey to another world and on the invasion from another world into everyday life, with its horror and its beauty, the agony and the ecstasy. And how one copes, or doesn´t, with it.
So to celebrate it, I made a list of music that I do consider visionary. There’s madmen, there’s mystics and there’s psychonauts, all possible combinations of the three archetypes and everything in between.
Pharoah Sanders—“The Creator has a Masterplan” (Impulse)
youtube
I don´t know much about cosmic jazz, or any jazz for that matter, but what I know is that this record is pure bliss. “Harvest Time,” on Pharoah is another masterpiece. Alice Coltrane and Don Cherry are also incredible. This is music of the spheres; it has the touch of God.
Rudimentary Peni—CacophonyI (Outer Himalayan Records)
youtube
One of the few perfect punk bands ever, for lots of reasons. The bass lines are extraordinary, for example. But they belong here because of schizophrenic member Nick Blinko: incredible artist & novelist, obsessed with Catholicism and the supernatural horror. A guy who stopped his medication to force himself into a psychotic crisis just to write an album. Hero. Martyr.
Nico— “Janitor of Lunacy” (Cherry Red Records)
youtube
For me, Nico was the best and more underrated of all Velvets (and we love Velvet Underground as much as anyone). Also, the production from John Cale on her records is probably his best work too, or at least among his best. I feel that she is not appreciated enough. Iggy said that meeting her changed him. I suspect that´s true for all her famous friends: Bowie, Lou Reed, John Cale, Leonard Cohen, etc. They were all larger-than-life characters. And we know there is an element of self-built mythology on all that, a bit of acting. There is nothing wrong with that; rock and roll at its best is a complete artform and we must appreciate this self-built mythology as part of their craft. But with Nico you don´t get that feeling. She seemed that she didn´t care about her image, she was born Nico and I suspect that in that sense she inspired them all to no end. She was the genuine article. One of our main loves in music. Essential with a capital E.
Coil—“I Don’t Want To Be The One”
youtube
Jhonn Balance wanted to be a magician, and he died trying. I think he succeed in building a shamanic body of work with the help of the great late Sleazy and a myriad of brilliant contributors. Coil´s music at its best it´s like a plasma between worlds, or a very, very good psychedelic drug. My most beloved electronic/industrial/post-industrial project ever and one of our main influences. This performance is superb.
Lungfish — Feral Hymns
youtube
I´m not interested in DC post hardcore per se, and I don´t have any tattoos. I shouldn´t care about Lungfish the way I do, but they knock me out every single time. Daniel Higgs is a seer. I don´t know what he is talking about, but at the same time, my gut knows exactly what he is talking about. He speaks in images, like Tarot, like the religious painters, like Rimbaud and San Juan de la Cruz. His delivery is supreme. Raw and fragile, yet powerful and precise. Over circular, repetitive, minimal structures of music that have a haunting, arresting effect. Hypnotic, magical, devotional music. Either you get it, or you don´t. I can´t explain it. That´s the beauty of it, I suppose. And the truly mark of the visionary artist.
Ghedalia Tazartes—“Une Éclipse Totale De Soleil Part 2”
youtube
Ghedalia for me represents the pure, untouched, sui generis artist. Applying the techniques of musique concrete to the ancient folk music of the Sephardic Jews with a raw energy that usually you can only find in punk, or blues. I see in him an archetype, the Fool card in the Tarot. The madman that opens the gates of heaven and hell, gives himself to these supreme energies and survives only because of his perfect innocence.
OM—“Sinai (live at Sonic City)”
youtube
Maybe the greatest rock band of the last 20 years. Here with Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe to maximum effect.
Charlemagne Palestine—Live in Holland 1998
youtube
Like Ghedalia, Charlemagne Palestine is a Jewish artist that works in the avant garde field but subverts it with the tradition of his folk music instead of sticking to the cold, cerebral, rational program of academia. He has his own world. Watch this and you will understand what I am talking about.
Virgin Prunes—Excerpts from Sons Find Devils/“Walls of Jericho”
youtube
youtube
youtube
There is a VHS tape called Sons Find Devils, comprised of live shows and short experimental films (some of them made by Balance, from Coil). I had it as a teenager and watched it countless times. Sadly, it is not complete on YouTube or elsewhere but here are some small extracts. With their heretic mix of Irish Catholic imagery, Irish Paganism, Bataille, performance art and post punk, the Virgin Prunes made a unique and extraordinary body of work. A testament of its importance is that Gavin Friday was guest singer of two bands in this list: The Fall and Coil. And Mr. Scott Walker himself invited him to sing on a play. Maybe the historians ignore them, but Mark E. Smith, Scott Walker and Coil knew where it’s at, didn´t they? Their record If I die I die is a masterpiece. Produced by Colin Newman from Wire, no less, if you need more validation.
Boredoms—Vision Creation Newsun
youtube
I like some of the more comical, early work of Boredoms, but with Super AE and this one they got me. They got serious and spiritual, channeling Alice Coltrane, tribal drumming, kraut rock and noise into a glorious, euphoric sound. Maybe they are not visionaries, but their music can produce visions. I saw them around 2005 (on acid) with the three drummers line up, still in this phase. I remember thinking “this is what cavemen had in mind when they invented music.” I actually saw it, with my eyes closed. Early humans. In caves. Inventing music. God bless LSD.
Aphrodite´s Child — 666
youtube
The one record I bought for the cover only, it cost me 50 cents, best deal of my life. A concept album about the apocalypse. Easy contender for the best psychedelic rock album of all time. Pet Sounds? Get outta here. An absolute masterpiece.
Tim Buckley—Starsailor
youtube
Tim Buckley is a mystery. He died too young. How he went from his L.A. folk rock first album to the absolute unique sound of Starsailor and Lorca is impossible to understand and a miracle of music. All six records in between are masterpieces. He was possessed by genius and has the most beautiful voice. I don´t know much about him, but his music put me out there.
Sun Ra—Night Music 1989
youtube
Watch this. Space is The Place, indeed.
Pescado Rabioso—Artaud
youtube
This guy, Luis Alberto Spinetta, is considered by many to be the most important rock musician in my country. So being an arrogant teenage punk, or whatever, of course that alone was enough to reject him altogether without even thinking. But a couple of years ago I was blown away by a book of poems he published in 1978. Incredibly beautiful, unique and sophisticated poetry. I recently started, too late, to listen to his music. This is one of his most famous and revered records. It´s dedicated to, and inspired by Antonin Artaud, who tried and failed to reach the mystic enlightenment, generating a body of work in the process which is a testament to his spiritual ambition, his radical rejection of the material world and his pain. Spinetta understood this, he said the record was trying to find an answer to Artaud, a way out of it, a way out of the pain. It´s psychedelic music of the highest order. The lyrics are incredible but you can enjoy it even without understanding them.
Dead Can Dance—Dyonisios
youtube
I kept forgetting this band exists. This new album is great. I listened to it non-stop during last Winter/Spring. It´s the perfect time because the record is about Dyonisios, so as a soundtrack for the rebirth of Nature it´s perfect. Probably their best work in years. Sublime.
The Fall—“Garden” (Live at the Hacienda, Manchester, UK, 1984)
youtube
No list of visionary rock and roll would be complete without Mark E. Smith. Famously he said, “I used to be a psychic but I drank my way out of it.” Indeed, there was a time, between 1978-1990, when he was possessed by something, injecting realism with mysticism, mixing high and low planes, exposing the supernatural forces that hides in the cracks of everyday life. He never talks about hell neither heaven, but rather the way they mix and manifest here on Earth. You’ve got countless of bands using occult/mystic imagery, and you know it´s nice but it´s just a game. You’ve got thousands of bands referencing Burroughs and the cut-up technique, but no one can write as Burroughs did. MES did it. MES wasn´t playing. He was a realist of the augmented reality, he told it like it is, in his fragmented, hallucinatory, unpretentious, visionary prose poetry.
There is a lot in his lyrics that can be read in a mystic, occult way. He left a lot of clues for the ones that can read them. His texts are kaleidoscopic, and they reflect what´s in your mind, really. I think he will be recognized with time as the great experimental writer that he actually was rather than merely an angry Mancunian punk. He had more in common with someone like Iain Sinclair than with any other rock musician. One of my favorite web sites is The Annotated Fall, where fans analyze his lyrics in depth. Pay a visit if you can, I can´t recommended it enough. In many ways, he was too intelligent for rock and roll, and that´s why he was misunderstood, but he didn´t care, he believed in constant work, never explain, never apologize. The Fall took all the best things in rock and roll: Can, Velvet Underground, punk, Captain Beefheart, and pushed it to the next level. Our favorite rock group ever.
Huun Hur Tu — “Prayer”
youtube
I tried to stick to Western, modern music but I can´t help including this.

Down to the Bunker (metalcore mélodique, Suisse). Festival Octopode 2019, 24 août 2019 Photo: Stéphane Gallay, sous licence Creative Commons (CC-BY)
Photo: Stéphane Gallay, sous licence Creative Commons (CC-BY)
Promethee (metalcore, Suisse). Festival Octopode 2019, 24 août 2019. Photo: Stéphane Gallay, sous licence Creative Commons (CC-BY)
Novelists (metalcore progressif, France). Festival Octopode 2019, 24 août 2019. Photo: Stéphane Gallay, sous licence Creative Commons (CC-BY)
Walls of Jericho (punk/hardcore, USA). Festival Octopode 2019, 24 août 2019. Photo: Stéphane Gallay, sous licence Creative Commons (CC-BY)
Rise of the Northstar (metalcore japanisant, France). Festival Octopode 2019, 24 août 2019. Photo: Stéphane Gallay, sous licence Creative Commons (CC-BY)
Finntroll (folk-metal, Finlande). Festival Octopode 2019, 24 août 2019. Photo: Stéphane Gallay, sous licence Creative Commons (CC-BY)
