Anthony George was ruggedly good looking actor who primarily worked on episodic television from 1950 to 1988. He is best known for his stints on daytime soap operas, including 632 episodes of “Search for Tomorrow”, 60 episodes of “One Life to Live”, and 49 episodes of “Dark Shadows”.

I knew of him best for his roles on Dark Shadows as Burke Devlin and Jeremiah Collins.

George also performed on stage. In 1966 he starred in the First National Touring production of “Funny Girl” as Nicky Arnstein opposite Marilyn Michael as Fanny Brice.

Earlier George touring the US in the comedy “Sunday in New York” where he costarred with another ruggedly good looking actor Earl Holliman. Several website on the web suggest that George and Holliman became romantic partners.

George never married but at one point, he was romantically linked with actress Angie Dickinson. Coincidentally, Angie Dickinson would co-Star with Earl Holliman for 4 season on “Police Woman” (1974-1978). Anthony George had a guest role on the show.

George did not discuss his sexuality in public or with the press. Earl Holliman announced Anthony George’s death in March 2005. His obituary published in Variety in 2005, it states that Anthony George was survived by his partner Robert Watson.

Biography

Jeremiah Milles (1751-1797) was the eldest of five children of Edith Potter (c.1726-1761), and the Very Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Milles (1714-1784), Dean of Exeter, an eminent antiquarian, collector, and president of the Society of Antiquaries from 1768 to 1784. His mother died when he was ten years old, and he and his siblings were raised in a relaxed manner by their distinguished father, whom they reportedly viewed "only as an Elder Brother, to whom they owe more respect, but not less Openness." At the age of twelve, Milles enrolled at Eton where he remained until 1768, the year of a student rebellion which he documented in a manuscript account. He received a bachelor's degree from Oxford in 1772 and the following year won the Chancellor's Prize for the best English prose composition on the subject of Ars Musica. Fanny Burney saw much of him in late-summer 1773 and reported that Milles had "a very good Figure & [was] extremely handsome, but rather too much of the embonpoint [i.e. plumpness]--he seems polite, mild, sensible & amiable." In 1775 Milles was elected a fellow of Merton College, and in 1776 he was called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn. On June 9, 1780 he married a wealthy heiress, Rose Gardiner. He became the subject of scandalous newspaper reports and gossip in early May 1781 after allegedly making sexual overtures toward a Scotsman by the name of Macartney at the Royal Academy exhibition. His father dismissed the incident as simply "an Eton trick," but Milles reportedly considered fleeing to the Continent. Instead he retreated to Pishobury, the manor house in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, recently inherited by his wife. He was appointed Sheriff of Hertfordshire in February 1786 and served as a Member of Parliament. He died on April 22, 1797 in Harley Street, London.

giant paragraph I wrote tonight where harrison makes enemies with george michael… handwritten version is the first draft & made some minor changes below:

Harrison’s tired of hearing George Michael on the radio. Once, he enjoyed getting drunk off peach daiquiris and being the only person in his friend group to be kicked out of three separate karaoke bars for being “grossly disruptive” during Everything She Wants. Sometimes, he’d extend a hand to Jeremiah sitting amused on the sectional, singing some people work for fun, girl I just work for you, just so he’d roll his eyes and with a reluctant laugh, take his hand, the silver tassels of his chrome sequin jacket braying midair like Christmas ornaments. They’d shout the lyrics together, every uh-huh, every la, la, la, back to back like Richard Gere and Julia Roberts on the cover of Pretty Woman. The memories are misty at the edges, dreamy tiles of a rotating disco ball because Jeremiah was a dream, half an angel and certainly more than a man. It feels, then, apt to be haunted—by pillar candles, silk sheets, vintage analog clocks, Annie’s mac and cheese right from the pot, silver sedans, the scent of nail polish remover, blue snow cones, disposable cameras, back issues of XY, green gummy bears, losing at checkers, motel pools, bootleg copies of Sleepy Hollow and Silence of the Lambs and The Blair Witch Project, sharing instant coffee on a loveseat, the texture of velvet, halving a granny smith apple in the dark, orange Tic-Tacs, veggie pizza, movie ticket stubs, brown eyes in the sun, fur coats, the sound of George Michael’s voice.
