First: thank you for having the courage to send your message OFF anon, I really appreciate it and genuinely respect you all the more for it. No joke, I sincerely mean that. That's not me being snarky, or trying to give you some backhanded compliment. I really mean it, because 99.99999999% of people on tumblr are abysmally unprincipled cowards who are incapable of being accountable for the things they ask or say. So, much respect to you for sending your message as an identified user.

Second: I am not the author of Neighborly. The author used to be known as "auntie thelma".

Third: You seem to really adore this au (as I did). Just wondering: did you ever leave the author reviews/comments expressing your love and appreciation for her work when this story was still publicly available?

Fourth: "But yeah, let me know if you want me to take down that podfic and I’ll get that done for you."

I don't know what auntie thelma's feelings were on how her transformative work products were shared/used, so maybe the following doesn't matter - but methinks it might have made more sense to ask the author whether she was comfortable with you recording a pod fic of her story and publicly posting it before doing it... instead of offering to take it down after the fact. Just a little food for thought.

hey bab! would you explain a bit more in depth, to those of us who are wondering about but aren't quite sure, what exactly the comment drive is for tgs that theothersidediscord posted about?

Heya! Yes absolutely. So there will be a much more in depth post to follow that will explain everything; what the event is, how it works, how you enter, what the guidelines are, and a bit more about the prizes. We wanted to release a teaser/notice post so people are made aware of the event and can spread the word prior to to its launch. That way, the big informative post about the event isn’t sprung on people out of no where!In short, the event is about fanfiction comments!

You earn ‘tickets’ by leaving comments, and these tickets enter you into the raffle. Winners are then picked at random either from a hat or an online generator. The more comments, the more tickets, the better your chances of winning (:

I’m usually not one to crow on and on about accomplishments because I finish a thing and already start looking onto the next one... but this one was my first baby, the introduction of my soul to the beautiful hell that is writing a long, intricate fanfic, and this one’s borderline epic in size (to me, anyway), and so finishing it feels like I finally reached some sort of milestone. can’t tell you what the milestone was, but I feel like I reached it, hah!

1. I turned 25! ��� I don’t usually celebrate birthdays, but I had a very successful quarter-life crisis this year. Which leads to...

2. I adopted a new dog! My late pups passed in 2015 and 2018, and this year, since my mom didn’t get me a birthday present, she said I could get a new one! (Let me be clear: the dog was not her gift. Her permission was 😂😂) She named her Katara before I even signed the papers.

3. I started therapy! Honestly, everyone could benefit from a therapist, but I know I’ve needed one for a long time. Katara ended up giving me a lot of anxiety in the beginning of our relationship, and it gave me the push I needed to finally seek help. The road was bumpy, but I am so grateful for it.

4. My job. It’s not glamourous and hell, it’s not even fun most of the time. But while so many others have lost their jobs or had their hours cut due to COVID, I am extremely grateful to have been able to transition to a WFH setting and not have to worry about my next paycheck.

5. Fandom friends. I seriously don’t know where I’d be without my fandom friends. Y’all have inspired me, uplifted me, grounded me for many years, but y’all shone last year. Some very special shoutouts to @mummapaintstheblues, @mrssakurahatake, @tipsyraconteur, and @the-real-kakashisgf for being the most solid foundation in this chaotic time. It was also so so fun joining into the ItaSaku and KakaSaku Haven Discord groups... and fandom Twitter! I’ve met many other wonderful people that I can’t wait to know more into the new year.

6. My friends. I live about 500 miles away from my main friend group. After not seeing them for more than a year, we had opportunities to connect and share space again. I’m grateful that we have all been able to stay safe and healthy through this ordeal.

(This is where I had to stop and pause and think real hard...)

7. Music. I was lucky enough to be able to attend some festivals and concerts this year while COVID numbers were lower after having been postponed for all of 2020. I got to see some of my favorite artists (Zedd, Gryffin, Dabin, William Black, and ARMNHMR to name a few) live and I had never felt more myself than I did in those moments. 

8. Video streaming. Y’all. I have binged SO. MUCH. TV. these past year. It’s kind of insane, but shoutout to video streaming services for keeping me company.

9. My health. It’s definitely a luxury these days and it would be foolish of me to ignore that.

10. Kakashi Hatake. Shoutout to the mans for giving me a serotonin boost every time I think about him.

Hello TGS fans!

With our Comment Drive soon drawing to a close, we would like to bring your attention to an important aspect of these events (the Comment Drive, TGS FanFicFeb, the TGS Secret Santa, and the potential events in future) and that’s you guys. The TGS fandom is small, and sometimes it’s quiet, but we see you still creating, still writing and drawing and editing and communicating, and we want to provide fun events to encourage and inspire you.

So many of you have expressed an interest in these events, have admired the intentions behind them and told us how happy you are to see them happen, and it’s always appreciated. But as much as those words mean to us, the only thing that will really keep these events going is your participation. We truly appreciate the effort everyone has made to leave comments and boost the morale of the content creators. Everyone who has dutifully sent us their links to tally their tickets.
