This kind of unhinged shit is exactly why Jenna doesn’t show herself online anymore and people are still so fucking parasocial about her. I hope she, Julien, and the dogs will be able to recover from this.
This is far from the only time someone has broken into a celebrity’s (internet or otherwise) home because they’re convinced they have a relationship with them. Sometimes it ends in violence; actress Rebecca Schaeffer was murdered by an obsessed fan/stalker in the 80s. And of course normal people get stalked all the time too; with the rise of the internet it’s become increasingly easier for stalkers to learn more about their victims even if they’re not famous.
Idk man, something needs to be done about this. I feel like stalking isn’t taken seriously by the law when it’s been proven time and time again to have catastrophic effects on the victims and often escalates.
