I thought that Andrew and JCC weren't writing for the show any more.

Some one please fill me in. Why are people saying that "Confessions" will have "Fear-O-Phobia"-caliber writing? I'm getting so excited. Not only did it have Eddie's breakdown in it, but it also had that awkwardness between Buck, Lucy, and Taylor, so it'll be interesting to see how that translates to Buck, Tommy, and Eddie.

Which part of it? I mean, the general trapped dads theory stems from 5x11 because of the parents in the car/“the thing I can’t live with is you gone and your parents teaching them to hate me” which was so insanely Buddie/will-coded of JCC. Combine that with the fact that they still haven’t talked about the will and getting to that point where they’re able to break open the lock box of feelings/things-they-don’t-talk-about will likely take a serious push, an emergency where Buck and Eddie are trapped together and there’s a chance only one of them might make it out feels like the most efficient way to accomplish that.

Now, if we’re talking about why do I think this season? The opening disaster had Bathena trapped together and almost dying, airing a lot of things they hadn’t ever let themselves admit to each other, the midseason is going to be Madney trauma seemingly with Chim trapped somewhere at some point and fighting to get back to her/their wedding, and the finale is ???? Currently a big blank spot but considering they just did Tomorrow last season, I don’t think they’re going to put Hen and Karen through it again yet. Which leaves…

Gonna hijack the end of this because that last bit about Marisol. Like honestly I’m more concerned how much longer she’s gonna be around at this point lol. With her actress now following and being followed by Shannon’s actress, adding JLH, Brenna, and JCC to her follow and followed by on top of Ryan as well, and her now adding Ravi’s actor to her latest follows also joining Kenny, and Oliver, she seems to be making all sorts of connections with the cast and crew for someone who’s supposedly not long term and disliked.

I would prepare yourself to see her around until the end of the season at the very least I'm afraid. She isn't long term and she isn't meant to be - they aren't going to change that - she has a narrative purpose - which she will serve and then be gone - I've made other posts about it so I won't go into it here, but i do get the impression that they have maybe adjusted timelines a bit - in order to give story arcs the proper time to breathe - in light of getting an early s8 renewal - which I am very much here for - but that does mean that it is likely that we won't be seeing Eddies queer narrative in relation to his catholic guilt in a full way until s8 - they will lay the foundations of it definitely, but I think this seasons Eddie arc will focus more on the Shannon side of his Catholic guilt before moving on to the queer side of it later on.

Its just a vibe I'm getting and I've been wring before! What I do know is that form everything we've seen - both on screen and in bts just reaffirms her position in the narrative - that she's a representation of catholicism and also being placed in the role of babysitter (kind of like Ana ended up being too - only this is more obvious!!). She is also being very loudly contrasted to Buck so even if we have to deal with her for longer than we'd like - we know she won't be around for more than a few scenes that help move Eddies narrative along and then she'll be gone!

As for the following on instagram of various people involved with the show - I really wouldn't read anything into it - shes a jobbing actress networking - she's just trying to establish connections in case she can get more work out of it down the line - she is also allowed to make friends with people - maybe she hit it off with them - it really doesn't have to be that deep - I follow people connected to my job all the time incase its useful down the line as its a n easy way to reach out to someone - doesn't mean I'm suddenly going to go and work with or for them in anyway - its just actors etc are more visible when they do the same thing!

im now convinced more then ever that something is going to happen at the wedding between buddie especially if the episode after the wedding is an eddie centric one.

I don't think there's gonna be any kissing or touching (sexually) happening at the wedding. At least not between Buck and Eddie. However, I could see that episode being the one where they're having to reevaluate their most recent relationship ending and what they mean to each other and it just being awkward, and the universe just keeps throwing them together and sending them signs (like fire and dirt and accidents) and this time the signs will be OBVIOUS to the audience. Not necessarily for Buck and Eddie. I'm thinking now, more so than episode 6 which will likely have SOME buddie moments in it with a higher concentration on Madney, that episode 7 (also written by Taylor Wong) will be the one where we might get an Eddie realization. And if we get an Eddie realization in episode 7, followed by episode 8 written by JCC and Brad Marques, that episode could spell even more obvious hints. I'm still not sure about the pacing of this season, but at this rate (with the info we have) I'm gonna allow myself to be a little delulu and make this speculative prediction:

Bi Buck in 7x04 -> Eddie/Marisol breakup in 7x05 -> Time skip + buddie wedding shenanigans and a BuckTommy ending (if they're together) in 7x06 -> Eddie feelings AND queer realization double whammy in 7x07 OR the aftermath of a feelings realization at the end of 7x06 -> big buddie hint or adjusting to feeling realization in 7x08 -> Buck feelings realization in 7x09 -> verbal confession from one of them to a 3rd party character OR out loud to themselves in 7x10 therefore setting up season 8 to be the beginnings of the big pining era and the slow progression into a relationship by the end of season 8.

(JTA) – A Jewish center in Durham, North Carolina, evacuated its occupants after receiving a fake bomb threat on Tuesday, one week after the arrest of a suspect accused of directing a series of such threats at synagogues across the country. 

Since the summer, dozens of Jewish institutions across America have been targeted with fake bomb threats, according to the Anti-Defamation League. The ADL said it had identified three new threats at Jewish locations across North Carolina this week, including Tuesday’s.

The suspect who was arrested last week, Eddie Manuel Nunez Santos, was a Peruvian national who made more than 150 threats, mostly by email, against synagogues and other buildings both Jewish and non-Jewish across five different states in September, the FBI said. The period when he sent the threats included Rosh Hashanah, which took place in mid-September. The bomb threats began, the FBI said, after Santos tried and failed to solicit child pornography; phone numbers that were sent along with the threats belonged to teenage girls who had rejected or cut off contact with him.

But Nunez Santos’ activity did not account for all of the hoax threats Jewish institutions have received since July, according to ADL reports. And the incident at the Jewish Community Campus in Durham, which led to the evacuation of a Reform synagogue, a Jewish day school and a JCC all located on the campus, demonstrated that such threats have continued even with that suspect in custody.

According to the Secure Community Network, a security firm monitoring Jewish institutions that partners with the ADL, there has been a noticeable downturn in such threats since the High Holidays and Nunez Santos’ arrest. But SCN also expects more threats to be made. Jewish institutions dealt with previous waves of fake threats in 2017 and 2020.

“While a certain number of incidents have been attributed to that arrested individual, the uptick in swatting incidents and bomb threats is not just a trend from recent months, but recent years – and they are continuing,” SCN director and CEO Michael Masters told JTA in a statement. “One arrest will not – nor has not – stopped what has emerged as a tactic for fear and disruption.”

Masters said SCN was “communicating with federal law enforcement and intelligence partners on next steps” to address the epidemic of false threats to Jewish institutions, which attract a response by law enforcement.

“Since at least as early as 2017, the Jewish community has been targeted with waves of bomb threats, often facilitated by advanced communications technology,” Todd Gutnick, an ADL spokesperson, told JTA. “Unfortunately, this trend is likely to continue.”

I know that people are expecting Buck and Tommy to have a couple episodes before the Eddie part of Buck's feelings come in but I honestly think it's just gonna be episode 5. Then shit goes down in episode 6 and then just based on the title I feel like episode 7 is gonna be when it's gonna start getting harder for Buck w/ Eddie then by episode 8 which is written by the infamous buddie writer JCC and the guy that wrote episode 4, I think that episode is when the Eddie part of the puzzle from episode 4 comes into play.

i honestly have no idea how it's going to go. it could be either way. but whatever happens i'm just so unbelievably excited to get to watch it unfold so !!!

is JCC the buddie writer?

You'll see that most of these episodes have a buddie moment or are heavily centered on Buck and/or Eddie. He's not the ONLY buddie writer, but he has been responsible for a lot of them, along with Lyndsey Beaulieu, Andrew Meyers, Taylor Wong, and, of course, Tim Minear. (You can find lists of all their previous episodes on @911bts).

We also have prominent "buddie" directors coming back as well, including John J. Gray (who wrote 2x04 Stuck and directed 6x12 Recovery ((ie. Buck falls asleep on Eddie's couch)), Brenna Malloy (who directed 4x13 Suspicion aka the gayest shooting scene on the planet), and Bradley Buecker (who directed 3x02 Sink or Swim aka Buck&Chris in the tsunami, 5x02 Desperate Times aka Eddie's comphet panic attacks, and 6x10 In A Flash aka Eddie pulling Buck UP after the lightning strike and "DO MORE!").

I was telling Zee yesterday the only time Juan Carlos Coto wrote an episode that I was less than thrilled with (at least when it comes to Buck and Eddie) is 6x17 Love is in the Air. But upon rewatching several times, I changed my opinion. Love is in the Air was interesting because it put both Buck and Eddie with Random Love Interests but also at the same time very much slapped the label of "THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT ONE FOR THEM" on it. So I'mma give him the benefit of the doubt because he had to adhere to what KR & Fox wanted and it really seemed like he did his best to adhere by what his bosses wanted while still putting several fail-safes in both Bucktalia and Eddiemarisol. He gave us all the red flags with Natalia, and also very clearly spelled out that Eddie wants to date Marisol for the wrong reasons (trying to recreate his last toxic marriage with Shannon, dating her just cuz she's there, and still feeling pressured to date in general). Man said I can't save this trainwreck of an almost-series finale, but the least I can do is give these characters fail-safes so the fans know these aren't their endgames even though it might SEEM like it.

Now, back under Tim, and with (hopefully) the green light from ABC, I'm thinking the writers/directors for season 7 can go absolutely apeshit on the buddie scenes. Maybe even sprinkle in a lil canon buddie just as a treat because we've all been such patient baby birds waiting for mama bird's backwash, ya know?
