#jay merged with the lightning

(Large text⚠️spoilers, bad english⚠️) The second season of the second part has not yet been released, but I want to talk about the third season (2026) We only know that the mascot of this season will now be Jay, the name of the season is related to the storm and I have two theories:

1) If the ninja does not bring Jay back in the second season, perhaps in the third season, they will definitely succeed, for example, Jay will learn to control not only lightning, but also a storm, like a Wojira (a giant sea snake from season 14 "Seabound", Nya defeated her by merging with the sea.)

2) Or .... Jay will become the third and perhaps even the last character who will sacrifice himself for others, like Zane and Nya from ninja, Jay can merge with the storm, as Nya did, merging with the sea, well, if someone remembers the work of "Storm Vessel au", then there Jay activated the storm, but he was the villain when the purple lightning hit him or the works, including mine, where Jay merges with the storm or with the lightning, well, I think you understand what that means. Jay will have to sacrifice himself if the ninja or even Nya are in great danger or Jay sacrifices in another way, maybe like it was with Kai, I hope that in the third season more time will be given to Jay, and not Lloyd again, please, I really want Jay to have attention paid to his element, his abilities, and not the fact that he knows how and likes to play video games, well, it's just ridiculous. Maybe he can also stop or even defeat the new enemy, since Nadakhan or Unagami, he couldn't stop them or even defeat them, so I want Jay to defeat the enemy, well, Kai too. If someone does not remember Nadakhan, he was a djinn and the main antagonist of the sixth season, tortured Jay, wanted to marry Nya for looking like Delara (his dead love), which caused both of them to have a cruel and terrible trauma, also Jay lost Nya for the first time when the poison of the tiger widow I got into it, maybe Nadakhan will return???... This is unlikely, especially since Jay and Nya will suffer again, maybe both will then tell other ninjas about it, I don't know... It is also possible that the island will return, especially in the special, Jay was given more time and attention than Lloyd again, the more he (Jay) was a victim, so... it would make sense... Jay is my favorite character and I really want more time and attention to be given to him in 2026 season 3. What do you think???

Seeing how the first part ended.

If bonzle tells Kai that she met some guy named Agent Jay Walker. An Administration agent who says he can’t remember anything about what he did before and has fucking lightning powers.

Kai now knows about the whereabouts of Jay, but he can’t do shit about it.

He can’t tell his team, Jays best friend, he can’t tell his sister; Jays own WIFE about what kinda predicament he’s in because he’s basically stuck in HELL.

And it’s gonna hurt him so bad because of it. Because of the fight they had in Crystalized because of the shit that he went through in seabound because of the fact Nya has been looking for Jay since Day one of the merge.

And he’s Just powerless to do anything.

I know theres not much on the whole Dragonians rn since they’re gonna be shown in season 3, likely with Morro and Jay.

I’ve heard it be called the Dragonian Storm village, so it makes a lot more sense as to why both Morro and Jay would be big factors in that season seeing as Morro was previously the master of wind, which was also a part of the storm element of Wojira, and with Jay’s lightning fitting the theme.

But i haven’t heard a lot about the fact that Dragonians is literally Dragoni+ans (though, there definitely has been some stuff about it)

Its not just about the dragons.

I think this season could actually showcase Dragoni’s like Lloyd, Garamdon, Wu, and the Fsm and also show some more lore into the dragoni thing. They might just need split into groups as well, some being the villains of the season and some being the heroes.

I think if what I’m saying is true, they might just finally explore more into Lloyd’s dragoni heritage and we might get to see glimpses of oni Lloyd, and maybe even a dragon version of Lloyd too. Not to mention it may also give an explanation as to what happened to the Oni after the merge.

We’re well aware that the Dragons travel across the merged realms and live in island or whatever in groups to remain safe, but there’s bin no mention of the Oni whatsoever. Thsi season may expand on the Oni, the Dragoni’s and Lloyd, as well as introduce Morro and more content on evil Jay, as well as mentioning some lore on the Cursed and Departed realms, specifically in Part 1 of the season. Part 2 may breach more into the realms of the dead after making some ground to stand on in Part 1.

These are all theories and assumptions though, but man i do hope they talk about some of them because the way we all are practically starving for Oni Lloyd content is crazy 😭

More on my Jay passes lightning on to Sora au (I really need to get better at naming aus)

I really needed to doodle this before i slept. I like the idea of Cole being the only other person who can see ghost Jay. I also like the idea that sora doesn’t even know Jay follows her, but idk, I also like him telling her about how her powers work etc. and for people who don’t wanna click the link, the au is basically Jay dies during the merge and let’s his power pass on to someone else. Instead of sora having “tech” power, it’s lightning, but she uses it to jumpstart her mechs and tech etc. the angst and humor is just too good to pass up

So when Kai reforged the Golden Weapons... how did he make sure they all got their own elemental powers??? No cuz how'd he do that? You COULD say "the ninja channeled their elemental powers into the weapons" but that doesn't make sense because when Kai hands Jay the nunchucks, they already have lightning!

How the fuck did the elements separate? Because it's my assumption that, when TWO sets of Golden Weapons merge together, then become armor, it's probably gonna just cause the powers to merge into Creation... so how the fuck were they separated???

Something, something, some headcanons about the Ninja team that I have this is in alphabetical order. Part II here!

Cole

• Being the Earth Elemental, he knows several types of rocks, earth and minerals, as each one has a different structure that can interfere and/or contribute to a task/fight.

• Even though he hated dancing for a long time, he still practiced some steps from different dance styles, because some of them were very similar to moves that could be used in battle he did it in secret thought.

• For a long time he always acted a little distant from the other team members, but he was still there to support them if they needed it.

• He's a mama's boy, and he loved seeing Lilly and Lou dancing together.

• It was his grandfather who chose his name. He was bedridden, but he held on until Lilly gave birth to the baby, and when Grandfather saw the little one he cried, because he knew he wouldn't survive to see the child growing up, So, Lilly asked him to name him, as if it were an "I'll always be here" gesture from grandfather to grandson.

• His favorite game is the one where there's a bunch of food falling from the sky and you have to catch it, he's already broken a record 3 times in this game.

Jay

• He's the fastest and most elastic/flexible on the team. This guy's ability to put his thigh behind his head is insane, you DON'T want to be his partner in stretching exercises.

• He knows the Kyusho-Jitsu. This is a technique/type of fight used to stun/paralyze the opponent by striking pressure points (Curiosity, this is the technique that inspired Ty Lee's Chi Blocking technique from ATLA). He uses this on normal criminals, like thieves, assassins, and smuggling gangs, that way they don't get hurt. However, he also use it on Krypytarium criminals, but with the addition of a mild shock to ensure the criminal is rendered unconscious.

• Edna taught him how to cook, so he has the ability to make really good food. Although he prefers to make roasts and stews.

• Jay is a sleepwalker. Not daily, but during really bad lightning storms. Master Wu often found him sleeping on the highest point of the Monastery after the storm. Once, the Ninjas tried to keep him inside the room during the storm. They locked the door and windows and kept watch. But somehow, Jay still managed to get out of the room and get into the storm. No one ever found out how he did this.

• This one I got from Lloyd’s Guide To Surviving The Merge, a lovely fanfiction of @omgjayaaa, I really loved that one He's a medic. He knows how to treat illnesses, injuries, concussions, etc. It started out more as a hobby. Check out medical books from the local library and spend hours reading and applying the teachings on the Monastery's training dummies (sometimes Zane was the victim) just as a "strange diversion" (Kai's words). However, one day, there was a training accident and Cole dislocated his arm, while everyone was worried trying to call the hospital, in an incredible act not to mention strange of calm, Jay grabbed Cole's arm and relocated it back into place, then he borrowed some materials that were in his room and made a sling for the Earth Elemental's arm. No one ever forgot that day, because while Jay was "Just another normal day" the others were staring at him like "What the fuck was that?"

• I also got this from a Ninjago chat fanfic, also from @omgjayaaa He is a natural with children. You can't say otherwise, that this super sensitive and humorous man doesn't have a natural ability to calm/entertain/do anything involving children. And he really enjoys that, being able to make a baby stop crying and go to sleep or helping a child that got lost from the parents. Your honor, this man has everything it takes to be a good father and you're not going to change my mind.

Kai

• He hates super spicy food, being the Fire Elemental doesn't mean his taste buds are pepper/wasabi approved. He just likes a small amount in his food. Ironically, spicy food can kind of serve as fuel for the fire, so the hotter the pepper is, the more heat the fire emanates from it. Although he hates this ability.

• He's not very good at reading/writing, he left school very early to take care of Nya and the Blacksmith, so he lost most of his literacy skills. However, he took some lessons from Wu, so he didn't feel so out of place.

• In fact, his natural hair is like his mother's, but it's as untamable as his father's, which is why he uses so much hair gel. Like, you can't say that wavy and stubborn hair is not hard to care.

• He's that kind of person who sings in the shower, he often forgets that there are people in the Monastery and starts singing so loud that you can hear it from the training yard.

• He and Jay, often in secret, hang out together. Where? Karaoke. Kai sings and Jay plays the guitar, sometimes they change roles Kai prefers to play the bass. It's a lot of fun for both of them, but they don't want to let others find out, because they know none of them, especially Nya, would let it go.

• As much as many people think otherwise, of the RGB siblings, Kai is the most "stable". Not because he wants to, but because he is Nya and Lloyd's support. He feels very embarrassed when the papers change.

• He is super attentive to people close to him, especially Lloyd, who is the youngest on the team. However, now with the addition of Wyldfyre, Sora and Arin in DR, he is as protective as he was with Lloyd.

So Jay’s yellow lightning

So I said if my last post got to 60 notes I’d actually make a post on this and a certain mutual decided to be funny. Now here I am so allow me to share my thoughts on the change of color in Jay’s lighting because BOY do I have ideas. I’d also like to state this does have spoilers for part two of season two for Dragons Rising so if you haven’t seen it, LOOK AWAY!

so as we’ve seen, Jay’s lightning changes to a yellow rather than the blue is always has been. We really get to see this in one of the newest episode of Dragons Rising during Inside the Maze. So why would his lightning change like this?? And why am I over analyzing the color of a lego’s powers?? Because I think that this color change really does have a sort of significance.

Sure you COULD argue and say that the change in color was just a stylist choice to better fit with Dragons Rising animation but I don’t think that’s all it is. If you look at this image of Jay during the flash back with him and Cole fighting over the remote, his lightning is still blue. The lightning does not flicker between blue and yellow like it has been shown during the present setting of Dragons Rising, so it doesn’t seem to just be a stylistic choice.

Now onto Agent Walker. We get a brief scene of Jay as Agent Walker during part 1 of season 2 where his powers are shown. When we do see his lightning here, we see bits of yellow in it. Remember this is now the current timeline of Dragons Rising, so there’s clearly been some sort of change between that flash back, and the merge. But even here when the yellow does first show up his lightning isn’t completely yellow, it still has more blue than yellow to it. This is before he had been ‘saved’ by Ras, when he was still apart of the Administration. Or rather before he had shattered his goodness.

Into the Maze. What an episode. We FINALLY get to see Jay use his powers in battle here. When he does make his appearance in front of the ninja, we see him show off his lightning. NOW it is more yellow than blue, and at this point Jay has not exactly shattered his goodness yet however he’s very close to that point, as when he does put the mask on and Arin exclaim he’s going to shatter his goodness, we hear Lloyd say “I’m afraid he already has.” Hm. Kind of a strange thing to say, even if he WASN’T fighting Nya at this moment, it’s still strange to hear Lloyd so quickly assume Jay has lost himself. So, Lloyd himself must have sensed or seen some sort of change indicating that Jay is different. Now onto his fight with Nya, we see him use his powers to his full extent. His lightning is almost completely yellow at this point with only small bits of blue here and there.

The wolf mask. At this point, Jay has now used the wolf mask and shatterspin, he has shattered his goodness. From this point on, his lightning is almost completely yellow as he battles with Nya. Once he loses the fight and has his powers taken, it is shown as completely yellow when Roby takes it into the Elemental Cup. Even when Nya has Jay’s powers, they are still shown as yellow however as she shoots it up into the air, it does appear to be a bit more blue once again. And how does his lighting being yellow tie into Jay’s lost goodness?

Yellow. This color can have many many different meanings and different symbolism. However, yellow has had a HISTORY of being associated with betrayal. In history with the Spanish Inquisition, in religious history, yellow has always been connected to betrayal. People seen as traitors were tied to the color yellow. What else can yellow also tie to? Warnings and danger. The gradual change of Jay’s lighting becoming more and more yellow, Jay is coming closer and closer to losing himself. Yellow is a perfect color to use for Jay in his current state in Ninjago. It’s a bright color that grabs attention, bur can be almost overwhelming or even abrasive at times.

On a final note about his change from blue to yellow, let’s focus in on not the gain of yellow, but the loss of blue in his lighting. I’ve talked about the different meaning of yellow and how this can tie into Jay slowly becoming disconnected from himself and who he once was, but what about the blue in his powers? What can that signify?

Blue is a color commonly associated with memory, as it is a color the brain most easily and frequently remembers, such as notes written in blue pen may be easier to remember than notes written in black. What else has blue been known to represent? Tranquility, stability, and loyalty. All attributes Jay has lost as his lightning slowly changes. Even as Agent Walker, with his lightning being mostly blue still we see him still have hints of himself in there. However during Inside the Maze, he’s a completely different person. Ras’s influence is a lot scarier than you’d think, and just by looking at Jay we can see, that this is no longer the Jay Walker everyone knows. He’s lost himself and who knows when we’ll get him back.

IN CONCLUSION-

I am mentally unwell, and probably had no reason to type out this entire analysis over the color of lighting that Jay has. But here I am and maybe you guys wanna read this for whatever reason idk. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. I’m going to go pass out now.

arin and ras are out in the wilds when they find and welcome back an unexpected teammate.

Arin sighed and speared another strange fruit with his stick. Its juice spilled down the branch, and he angled it away so it didn’t drip onto his hands. He frowned and held it over the fire, watching the way its skin sizzled and roasted. 

It was the fourth day of being out in the wilds with Ras. The tiger had reclaimed his hammer and was scrubbing its surface with a spare shred of cloth Arin had volunteered from his gi. His ear turned towards Arin, listening to the fruit cook.

They were tired, to be honest. With Ras having lost all his companions, and Arin abandoning his, they were on their own together. It sucked, and it left them to survive in the wilds with nothing but pure skill and luck, but they were alive. For now, that’s all that mattered.

Arin decided the fruit was roasted enough and handed the stick over to Ras. His nose twitched, smelling the fruit nearby, and he wordlessly turned and took the branch. His chuff was thanks enough. 

“You’re sure you can eat it?” Arin asked, raising an eyebrow. “Aren’t you a carnivore?”

“Obligate carnivore,” Ras corrected. “We have seen very few animals, and have hunted fewer. I will take whatever food I am able to, in this circumstance.”

“As long as you’re not gonna die from eating that,” Arin shrugged, going back to his own dinner - a weird squash-like vegetable that smelled like wet mud and pumpkin. It, too, was roasted over the fire, and tasted something similar to eggplant, but sweeter, and with a coarser texture.

They ate their dinners in silence. Arin chewed on his lip when his squash was gone. Ras had taught him how to hunt for animals recently, which Arin was not very good at, but he hadn’t done anything to tell him about his parents. A little hint of doubt crept into his mind. What if Ras was lying? What if he didn’t actually know where his parents were, and he wasn’t gonna even teach him anything useful?

No, he decided. They were both just focusing on survival right now. Besides, even if he did turn his back on Ras now, where would he go? His parents are gone, the ninja definitely wouldn’t want him back when he betrayed them like he did (though he wouldn’t want to go back to them anyways), and he didn’t want to wander the Merged Realms forever until he died. That seemed pointless.

So Arin only had Ras right now. He could trust Ras. Cuz there’s nowhere else he could go.

A branch breaking startled him out of his thoughts, and he was immediately up in a fighting position in the direction of the noise. Ras, too, had gotten up, ears pressed back and growling low in his throat, tail lashing.

Out from behind a grove of trees flashed something blue. “Who’s there?” Arin yelled. 

And when the figure shakily stepped out from the trees, Arin and Ras straightened up in surprise. Because there was Jay, the Blue Ninja, scowling and holding his arms.

“Walker,” Ras growled, getting out of his fighting stance. His fur lay flatter on his body. “What are you doing here?”

“You sent me away,” Jay grimaced. “I was out here, wandering, thinking about what to do, when I heard something over here and… well…” He gestured at the two of them and their fire. He chuckled. “I was just about ready to return to the Administration when I felt my powers return to me.” 

Lightning crackled around his hand, illuminating his face in the darkness. His eyes seemed to glow an unnatural color until the lightning faded away.

Ras tilted his head and stepped forward, towards the ex-ninja. Jay immediately cowered and ducked his head. “I’m sorry for failing you, Lord Ras! You were right, that damned ninja was trying to get into my head, and for a moment, it almost worked. That weakness cost me.”

“That it did, Jay,” Ras stated unkindly. “I sent you away for you to clear your head. I had expected you to have a longer lasting impact on the ninja, but… in retrospect, perhaps they would have corrupted you further, if given the chance. They were very determined to convince you of their lies.”

“It won’t happen again, Lord Ras. Next time, I won’t be as lenient,” Jay continued, head still bowed. His eyes flashed red. “I’ll finish her off next time.”

Ras looked thoughtful for a moment, tail swishing and head tilted. Arin frowned and looked at the former ninja. Jay used to be the joke-slinging, fun Blue Ninja, fearless in the face of combat and doing it all with a smile behind his mask. This… wasn’t Jay. Not the Jay that the world used to know. His amnesia really screwed with him, huh…

Eventually, Ras huffed and nodded. “You are the only one of my men that still remains. All the rest are either under the control of those Forbidden Five, or are too far to reach now.”

“A-and the Gong of Shattering?” Jay asked, looking up at Ras. 

“With them, presumably.”

Either Arin was really bad at reading expressions, or Jay looked… disappointed at that. That face was immediately drowned by one of hope. “Then…”

“You may stay with Arin and I,” Ras decided. “None of us have much else to do.”

Jay bowed quickly, nearly folding himself in half. “Thank you, Lord Ras. I won’t disappoint you again!”

“Good,” Ras smiled. “See to it that you don’t.”

As Ras walked away, it let Jay see Arin, as if for the first time. They blinked at each other for a second before Jay’s face scrunched up suspiciously. “Aren’t you one of those ninja brats?”

Arin tried not to scowl. “Nope. Not anymore. Not since they betrayed and lied to me.”

“Yea, they’ll do that,” Jay nodded. “You’re training under Lord Ras now?”

“He’s done a better job at training me than Lloyd so far,” Arin shrugged. He was past the point of caring about his so-called heroes. He looked over the former ninja, dressed up in the wolf warrior regalia typical for Ras’ lackeys, but with a few more embellishments. Personalized, almost. “You… don’t remember the ninja at all, then?” Arin continued.

“Am I supposed to?” Jay raised an eyebrow. It was his notched one. That was always one of Jay’s signature traits, alongside his freckles and striking color. 

“You had fought them at some point prior to your amnesia,” Ras spoke up from where he had sat back down. His hammer was in his lap. “Or, so I assume.”

As Jay scoffed, saying something about how the ninja were stupid for trying to worm into his brain like that, Arin stopped to think about this.

Jay used to be a ninja. He may not remember any of it, or want to remember it, but he was still a strong fighter. And, if he could play his cards right with Ras, a good additional teacher. If Ras taught Jay how to fight, then Jay could give him some further tips. And, well, they both hated the ninja right now, and looked up to Ras for guidance. Despite it all, Jay was the best ally one could ask for in their current circumstances.

Ignoring the fact that the Gong of Shattering definitely did something to Jay’s morality. One gong probably didn’t hurt too much, right?

And… Jay used to be Agent Walker - the Manager of the Realm Reassignment division. If anyone knew where Arin’s parents were, it’d be Jay.

As the ex-ninja moved to sit by the fire, Arin hurried to sit next to him. Maybe he didn’t have to abandon all his former heroes. He’ll keep this one. “Hey, Jay?”

“Hm?” Jay hummed in question, grabbing a fruit from the pile Arin had gathered and biting into it raw (and making a face when it tasted like mush, as all of those fruits do). 

“When… when you worked at the Administration,” he frowned, fiddling his hands together, “did you happen to see my parents?”

Jay swallowed his bite of fruit down and raised an eyebrow. “Uh?”

“They look like me,” Arin added. “Black hair, dark eyes - Dad has a bit of a beard, Mom’s hair was short…”

He trailed off, but Jay gave an unsure snort. “Kid, if I remembered every single person who came by the department, I think I could easily replace the first two decades of my life with that. My memory’s bad enough as is.”

Arin tried not to sound too disappointed when he sighed. “Oh…”

As if sensing he made a mistake, Jay clicked his tongue. “Gimme enough time, I’ll try to remember. Two humans, short black hair, look like you, gotcha.”

“You’d try and remember?” Arin asked hopefully. He hoped his relief was evident on his face. 

Jay rolled his eyes. “Yea, yea. Least I can do for my teammate.” He gave Arin a once-over. “You don’t look like a half-bad fighter. Lemme finish up this fruit and let’s spar.”

Arin grinned. “Sure!”

He looked over at Ras, who nodded his approval. He got up and started doing stretches. He was one step closer to finding his parents. And, maybe, siding with Ras and Jay for the long run wasn’t such a horrible idea after all.

i don’t think Jays amnesia is accidental or legitimate

here’s why:

Jay knows his name his full name, implying that he knew it even with memory loss, and you might be thinking couldn’t the agents just tell him his name if he didn’t remember? well no one in the administration seemed to know who LLOYD GARMADON WAS until they broke zane out, they didn’t even Acknowledge Zane as a ninja when they arrested him implying that they have no idea who THE HEROS OF NINJAGO are

He knows he had lightning powers but nobody else knows this, which also connects to the administration didn’t know who jay was before or they would’ve informed him of his powers themselves and he would’ve known that they knew but he makes it seem like it’s a bad thing like bad things happen to Elemental Powers so if that is true why would they put somebody in the administration knowing that they have Elemental powers?

Still has similar personality traits to before (video games) so the memory loss didn’t cause Jay to completely loose himself, he still holds the similar traits to before. this seems more like someone took out the people and things he was doing and not erasing him as a person? idk if that makes sense but when Nya and Zane got their amnesia they blindly trusted people, the first person they saw who told them things and they believed them and they kind of acted differently but also they had no idea who they were they couldn’t even remember their name, so it just makes Jays amnesia more purposeful and thought out

he can’t remember anything before the administration- now he remembers all of his life at the administration but not a single thing before that? Also this tells us that if he woke up at the administration with no memory why would they give him a guy who knows nothing but his name a good position like a manager? it just doesn’t make sense unless they brought him in specifically, and why nothing before the administration, what happened to his mech? Did it crash and if so how did he not remember waking up at the crash and going to the administration, did they take him from the crash sight? And Nya told Zane that the merge was years ago no matter how many years it’s been wouldn’t Jay had to have had some sort of memories come back like anything? a face? a single memory? a name?

i had this theory i posted about where he also woke up at a monastery copy because i think there’s more out there because he walked right into where Bonzle was with no backup, none. Why would they send in an agent alone unless he didn’t say where he was going and instead just went along with his muscle memory and he was going to where Bonzle came from too so he knew where he was going he did not look lost once.

My ending point: somebody or something erased Jays memories it wasn’t just an accident or a bump on the head and i think most fingers are point to the administration/administrator, because it’s just weird timing that it’s just the administration that he remembers along with just his name, it just kind of seems thought out like they wanted him for a reason or something. There are things about himself that he knows, he doesn’t seem to be having an identity crisis so it’s almost as if someone picked and chose which things he could remember and which he would have to forget like people and his previous life. All the agents seem like they have something off about them too, maybe it’s requirement that they examine people who they believe would be good agents and erase their memories and take them which is why nobody questions it, it’s just what they know. Or maybe the Administrator works for Ras too and gives Ras amnesiac Elemental Masters for him like where did Tox come from? and why does it look like she’s on the bad guy side now? Maybe Ras’ plan B was getting other elemental masters to fight for him in the tournament of sources instead of the Forbidden 5 and to do that he had the administrator provide them and erasing their memories knowing that they wouldn’t willingly help Lord Ras.

Anyway that’s just a few (a lot) of things i think about at night

generally i draw the ninja in a pretty vague "around or after crystalized but before DR" timeline so that's what i'm operating under with these headcanons

also i didn't draw zane here cuz android bodies confuse me and i also got. lazy hgkfdsghkjf but i'll do his someday

lloyd's 20~ and the other ninja are mid 20s~

FIRST UP MY FAVS

starting with lloyd i give him a dragon tail and oni horns, as well as pointed ears. he's got a semi-grunge/goth style so i usually draw him with piercings and stuff. he lost his arm during the events of hunted to me but i dont really have a set event in mind for it. his back was SUPER damaged during the sons of garmadon fight and sometimes has to wear a back brace, and his ankle flares up from time to time

jay kept a lot of his scars hidden for a while because they came from skybound (some of his worst injuries lingered from the timeline). not sure whether he's come clean to the ninja yet or not. the marks on his wrist and ankle are from vengestone cuffs on the ship (blame hat because they gave jay vengestone cuffs in bbnb and it broke my brain so my jay has them now). the wound on his side is from skybound as well. ironically his face scar is NOT from skybound, but he was blind in that eye after skybound and hid it from the team. the current scar is from a fight where an enemy sliced a knife up the side of his face, and his lightning reacted badly and struck him while also striking the enemy. he almost died it was NOT a fun day for anybody. also he's a trans man so top scars!!

nya's scars are fun, she obviously has the tiger widow venom scar from skybound (kai finds out about that one after it gets infected cuz she wasn't taking proper care of it after the timeline reset, and he was NOT happy about it) but she also has lichtenberg scars on her hand from a time jay was holding it and accidentally shocked her badly with his powers. he starts wearing gloves after this incident. she also, of course, still has the markings from her time merged with the sea. they glow blue when she uses her powers, and her eyes are more glowy now as well (she kinda looks like a cryptid)

kai's deceptively scrawny. he has basic muscles but he's super skinny, so a lot of people think he isn't as strong as the rest of the ninja. however he's CRAZY strong and has a solid core. He also has a bunch of scars all over his hands from his time as a blacksmith. They're mostly little burns and nicks, but there's one that stretches across his hand from when he accidentally grabbed a hot blade. he also has a lot of body hair

cole is chubby but INSANELY strong, even without super strength. he has a bunch of scars, especially on his arms, from being tanky and blocking blows with his body. most of his scars are ninja related, but he does have one on his leg from a dance accident. nothing major, but the scar stuck around. he also has his ghost scar that goes over his eye somewhat, causing his pupil to be an unnatural green

also a height chart for comparison! one day i'll do zane too but i got lazy. hard to figure out scars for a nindroid, but i imagine that under his plating, the side of his face will ALWAYS have glowing gold scars from the overlord, no matter how many times he makes a new body or tries to fix them

A common question that has plagued fans for a long time now is how and why Wojira passed the element of water onto Nyad, considering they were enemies at the time. Personally, I think there are two different yet equally possible answers here:

Someone once pointed out that in Wu's scroll depicting the Battle of Nine Days, Wojira's eyes are red - which would likely only be the case if she was being controlled (her eyes return to blue once Kalmaar's control is lifted). It could be possible that Wojira was once a far more benevolent being before some unknown force took control of her, and during that time Nyad inherited power from her.

In Bentho's story about the legend of Nyad, she is depicted as being struck by the Amulets upon touching them - perhaps this was what caused her to acquire that power. Yes, technically it looks more like she touched the Storm Amulet, whereas water is more closely aligned with the Wave Amulet. However, I think it's worth noting that the Storm Elements don't seem to operate strictly under the standard conditions of most others. In this case there seems to be some kind of overlap. Although the elements passed on from Wojira are water and wind, she also has dominion over lightning as well, with "Storm" encompassing both of the latter two. Which suggests that may be a degree of overlap between the elements of storm. If so, then it's still entirely plausible that being struck by the Amulets could have given her the elemental power of water (and perhaps this overlap also explains why Jay was able to command wind that one time in s1?? I dunno. That's a theory post for another day)

This is potentially corroborated by the fact that we don't see her wield the element of water until after this striking incident. Within the context of this particular animation sequence, her being struck and her becoming one with the sea are depicted within immediate proximity of each other.

If true, the second possibly would also resolve another big question involving Nyad and her element: that is, how the line of succession was able to progress even after she had become one with the sea. According to Nya, it was her power that kept her chained to the ocean, and by losing her power she severed her connection to it. By that logic, wouldn't the same be true for Nyad? If she's still connected to the sea, then logic should dictate that she should still be the master of water. But if her power left her and moved on to someone else, then she should have been restored just as Nya was in Crystalized.

But if we consider the idea that elemental power may be passed down through other means, it becomes possible that someone else may have acquired water the same way Nyad did, and that second person ended up passing the element down through the ages.

(But if that answer isn't satisfying, have another: according to the Overlord, elemental powers seem to possess some degree of semi-sentience, as they are able to "choose a new champion". Perhaps Nyad's elemental power left her to pick someone new, but at that point she'd been merged with the sea for so long that her spirit remained chained to it anyway.)

Jay

- Narrow face. Has a sort of movie star look to him. The most conventionally attractive out of all the ninja. Short and a little boxy-looking. Slightly muscled shoulders (he’s an inventor) but otherwise stronger than he looks.

- Lots of freckles and fulguration scars. His body regularly conducts lightning through it and it shows. The smaller ones fade with time and return when he uses his powers.

Nya

- Square face and strong features, very grumpy resting expression. Moles on her cheek and the corner of her mouth and a couple on her neck. Dragon tattoo on her arm.

- Strong biceps and and thighs (she’s been an inventor, mechanic, samurai, and now a ninja). She can easily bench press a few of her teammates and her punches hit like a semi truck. She has swirling marks as well as fangs from her time merged as the ocean and a scar on her left side from fighting Dogshank (her body remembers the events of Skybound, even if nobody else—except for Jay—does.)

Lloyd

- Classic hero look: soft features, seems very approachable, most of his opponents don’t think he’s capable of great anger because of this. (They’re wrong). Puts effort into his appearance because he has strong feelings about what he thinks a hero should look like. He relaxes a little after the Merge and lets some of his less human traits become visible, such as his fangs and pointed ears. Unrecognizable outside of gi—literally looks like an average guy.

- He has a somewhat stocky, jock-like build. Has several visible scars and stretch marks but the most prominent are the claw marks on his shoulders from fighting his dad. Top surgery scars too (he is trans to me).

Kai

- Physically resembles his father quite a bit, has similar sharp features. Very handsome. Has a lot of very thick, coarse hair, so he uses a lot of hair jel for it. Has a scar over his right eye that he got while fighting a Serpentine.

- Jacked, very strong arms, biceps, and shoulders. Calloused hands from working the blacksmith forge. Same dragon tattoo as Nya on his left arm that he originally got to commemorate her sacrifice in Seabound. Top surgery scars (he is also trans to me)

Cole

- Has a soft, gentle-looking face. Probably the most relaxed out of everyone on the team. A couple moles on his nose.

- Tied with Zane for tallest height. Used to look very slender in s1/2 but has since put on a lot of weight. Large build with lots of functional muscle. Big arms, legs, hands, and feet. Big chest. You get the picture. Lots of body hair all over. Nearly invisible scar on his face from his time as a ghost.

Zane

- Tied with Cole for the tallest. Was originally shorter but was rebuilt taller after s3. Slender build with a strong, flexible core. Dr. Julien designed him to be light and fast to contrast the Juggernaut, which is slow yet tough. Can still tank a freight train. Powerful. Built to protect.

- Very human-looking despite his android body. (Dr. Julien was a damned genius) similar wiring to Pixal on his chest but with snowflakes instead of dots. Heart/core is comprised of chronosteel as given to him by the previous Master of Ice.

Pixal

- The shortest. Petite. Borg built her to look soft and amicable since she worked as an assistant at his company. Visible wiring since she is overflowing with every mechanism thought possible to make her as fully functional as a human being and more.

- Has an alternative Battle Mode body that is bigger than even Zane. She re-made the Samurai X persona to seem big, quiet, and terrifying to fight. She succeeded.
