Been waitin' 2hrs for my first CRUMB of food for the day to reach me and brother at this point even if Big Boss himself turned up with the bag at my door and hit me with a 'Kept you waiting huh' drenched in all the rugged charm in the world and i'd tear him to shreds with my bare hands and eat him instead

This is an awesome account of the events that happened that day. It is written by Jeffery - the guy in the fur hat in the front row. Enjoy!
June, 1967
Through SF State College, which I am going to a few years out of the Navy using my GI Bill benefits, I get a summer job through school that has a hundred dollar a month expenses. I go down to the Psychedelic Shop on Haight Street, where a lot of community activities come from and offer them the money. Ron Thelin, who runs the store with his brother Jay, says yes, they can use the money to rent a flatbed truck (for a stage) and a generator (for the guitars) as there is a free concert in the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park on that coming Sunday, June 25, 1967 and asks me to show up for the meeting around 10am Sunday morning.
I wake up that morning in my 75 dollar a month houseboat at Gate 5, Main dock, make a cup of coffee and toast, jump into my car, then leave and drive up the Waldo Grade, go through the tunnel and blast out into brilliant sunlight, wondering now and then, who is going to be performing at this free concert as Jay had never said who it might be.
I glide over that gorgeous Golden Gate bridge, then take the 19th Avenue exit and wend my way to Fulton and finally park in front of the shop on Haight and go in.
There are 4 or 5 guys who are really putting this show together and the work has mostly been taken care of. I just stand quietly st the back of the room. Finally, Jay asks if anyone has a car. I leave my hand down but finally tell him that I do.
"Go down to the Travelodge at Fishermen's Wharf", he tells me, matter-of-factly, "knock on door 157 and bring Jimi Hendrix back to the site, parking on Fell near Ashbury".
I nod to him like I do this stuff every day, jump in my beat-up '59 Studebaker ragtop, pull out and head over. On the way, I think back to last week's Monterey Pop Festival, where a simple twist of fate played out big for me.
The morning of Monterey, my wife ran off with my last roommate in college. About a half hour later, sitting on the edge of the bed dejectedly, there is a knock on the door and my neighbor, Dan Hicks, wants to know if I want to make 20 bucks as he needs help humping music amps and guitars to the Festival. Twenty minutes later, we cross the Golden Gate Bridge and make our way to the Monterey Fairgrounds.
While humping a large amp, Dan on one end and me on the other, I notice something shiny on the ground and squat quickly down and stuff it into my jeans and proceed. We get all the equipment in and I get my 20 bucks and am now outside the gate. Don't know exactly what to do, but after pulling out the shiny object, it turns out to be a simple pin-back with a card that says BACKSTAGE PASS on it.
Things are looking up. The only SLIGHTLY bad thing is it also has someone else's name written on it as well. But, hell, what can they do to me and I am never averse to taking risks, so I pin it on and walk up to the hefty guard at the gate, who sees I have THE PASS and I am in!
I saw a lot of music that weekend, but Otis Redding's scintillating set on Saturday night, even sharing a joint with David Crosby, was a real peak event I have never forgotten. What a professional set he laid down. The best.
Then, Sunday, when I hear Jimi is about to perform, I go out in the left side of the stage and stand behind a curtain that is all there is between me and him and he totally blows us all away, then picks up a can of Ronson lighter fluid while he is down on his knees making love to his guitar during Wild Thing and his guitar is now flaming and then he breaks up that guitar and lobs pieces of it to audience members and leaves the stage.
Wow; Monterey Pop. But that was last week and now I am in the parking lot and I go up to the door and knock and, like in a dream, there is Jimi, who just picks up his guitar and gets in the back seat of my garbage car and off we go. Just being around him a few minutes and you know he is basically a shy cat and the only thing he mentions is how much he digs my Russian fur hat which is only a woman's fur piece I got at the Digger's Free Store on Cole St. just off Haight a few weeks back and made into a hat. I try to give it to him but he declines saying it wouldn't fit over his hair and I am very happy as it looks so good on me.
We pull up, he gets out and wanders over to the stage while I roll up a quick joint and take five fast puffs, laughing as I can't see anything in my smoky car. I don't want to miss a beat, but decide that since I drove him there, I am going to get up close and observe. As you can see, I kind of got the best seat in the house even if I am standing, Notice I am holding his microphone cable. And smiling big. Why not? Ringside with the most amazing guitar player. Ever. I don't even notice Jim Marshall, SF's iconic rock photographer, snapping photos.
This was on Sunday, June 25, 1967 and I went on with my life which took me to Woodstock and driving a big Hog Farm hippie bus for a few years across America and then I got to Europe and hired on as a driver for a British hippie bus taking 25 paying passengers (75 dollars one-way) from Amsterdam to Afghanistan and spent five years doing that including the beaches of Goa, India and trekking in the Himalayas of Nepal and I was pretty busy and never once told that Jimi story to anyone at any time. It was just this serendipitous, precious moment in my life.
But then, I went over to my friend Wrinkle's one day in 1988 but he was out, so I was sitting with his then 18 year old son Austin and thinking of having a conversation and he was the drummer in a garage band, so out comes that story of Jimi and me. Of course, he didn't believe me but was too kind to say so. I went home afterwards and a few days later, I get a call from his dad and he says "Hey, I am looking at a picture of you and Jimi Hendrix. Now it's my turn to not believe him, but I go over and...
So Austin has this pal Jameson Grant and Jameson's parents went to live in Iowa for a couple of years, his junior and senior year in high school. One day, he is thumbing through a guitar magazine and there is a full page photo of Jimi Hendrix and me, but he doesn't know me then, but he really likes this picture and asks his pal if he can have it and his friend says buy me a hamburger and it's yours! But, when he goes back to California, he takes it with him and one day his friend Austin comes over and tells him the tall tail he thinks I told him and Jameson says Well, I have a picture of Jimi Hendrix in San Francisco in my suitcase and shows it to Austin who freaks out saying I thought Jeff was BSing me but THAT'S HIM. Jim Marshall took the photo and I now have seen it in a Rolling Stone and seen it many other places, showing Jimi Hendrix and me, smack dab in the middle of the Summer of Love and it doesn't get much better than that."

Found Footage
Read on AO3 here.
“5021 George. 10-1 at 2650 W Fulton Street. Officer down, need an ambulance and CFD.”
Hailey looks up in shock as she hears her husband’s voice over the radio set up in the bullpen.
What the hell?
Intelligence scrambles down to their cars, racing to Fulton Street.
An ambulance is already on scene, the paramedics working on the young patrol officer.
The patrol car had been forced off the road, resting in a shallow ravine.
Hailey jogs over to the ambulance, greeting the paramedics.
“How is he?” she asks.
“He hit his head pretty hard in the crash.” the medic tells her. “It’s a good thing we got here when we did. He needs to get to Med.”
“Where’s Detective Halstead?”
“Officer Tanika was the only one on scene when we arrived.” she’s told. “We have to go.”
Hailey stares after them in shock as they load the stretcher into the ambulance and pull away.
Then where is Jay?
She turns to look for Voight and sees him talking to Deputy Superintendent Austin. What is he doing here?
As she gets closer, she can hear parts of the conversation.
“This doesn’t look good, Hank.” Austin is saying. “We don’t have dash cam, there’s no traffic cameras in the area and the only witness who might have been able to vouch for Halstead is unconscious.”
“Nobody in Intelligence knew you were going to arrest Halstead until you walked into the bullpen.” Voight argues. “That doesn’t leave any time for him to have set up a jailbreak.”
“So maybe it was you who arranged this.” Austin says. “It wouldn’t be the first time.”
“It doesn’t matter.” Hailey jumps in, cutting Voight off before he can escalate this. “We need to track down whoever was behind this and find Jay. We can sort out if this was a rescue or a kidnapping later.”
“I can’t let your team investigate this.” Austin says, shaking his head. “You’re too close.”
They might actually find Jay.
Hailey quashes the cynical thoughts for the moment.
Austin walks away and she turns to Voight.
“He’s involved.” she says quietly and he nods.
“We just have to prove it.” he says.
“And find Jay.” Hailey adds. “They can’t afford to give him a chance to tell his side of the story.”
He may already be dead.
It isn’t as hard as they might have expected to link Austin to Jay’s kidnapping.
Because that’s exactly what it was, despite the doubts that Austin had stirred up through the department.
Intelligence had located a vehicle nearby the site of the crash on security cameras. And the vehicle had come back to the CPD auction lot, signed out by none other than the Deputy Superintendent himself.
Once they’d shared that information with the Superintendent, it had been all too easy to get full access to Austin’s office and electronics.
“I’ve got a flash drive.” Kim announces, holding it up where she’s searching the desk.
Adam reaches for it, plugging it into his laptop.
“Two video files.” he says, opening the first one. “Hey, lookie here, the missing dash cam footage.”
Jay’s voice fills the room.
“Tanika? Hey, come on, talk to me. Are you okay up there?”
Moments later, the kidnappers arrive, telling a confused and resistant Jay that he’s coming with them.
And then gold hits.
“If you let me radio for an ambulance for him I won’t fight you.” Jay says. “I’ll come quietly.”
“He willingly went with them to protect Tanika.” Hailey says, shaking her head with a fond smile.
“Well now we’re going to find him, get him back.” Voight says. “I’m going to go have a chat with Austin.”
“Hang on boss.” Adam says. “Second file is… oh shit.”
Voight storms into the unfamiliar interrogation room, throwing the laptop on the table in front of Austin and hitting play.
Jay grunts as a fist slams into his face, throwing him forcefully onto his back. A kick to the stomach follows and then three separate men are standing over him, their booted feet slamming repeatedly into whatever part of Jay they can reach as he curls up, trying to protect himself.
Voight pauses the video.
“You couldn’t help yourself, could you?” he snaps. “It wasn’t enough to arrange for him to be kidnapped and beaten, you wanted to see it for yourself.”
“I don’t know what you think this proves.” Austin says. “They sent me that video demanding a ransom.”
“And you didn’t notify anyone?”
“I hadn’t had a chance.”
“They send you the dash cam footage you claimed didn’t exist too?”
“Yes.”
“Only that footage starts before the kidnappers got to the car and extends until after the paramedics arrived.” Voight says. “They never touched the camera system.”
There’s a knock on the door and Adam sticks his head in.
“Phone records.” he says, handing them over to Voight. “There’s one number in particular that catches my attention. He calls them just after the patrol car drove away from the station with Jay in the backseat. They called him just after Jay’s radio call went out. Burner phone.”
“You really thought we weren’t going to look into this, didn’t you?” Voight asks the man, shaking his head. “Or that you could handicap us enough to keep us from getting anywhere.”
Austin doesn’t say anything, seeming to realize that he’s not getting out of this.
“Where is Halstead?” Voight demands.
“I don’t know.” he says. “I told them not to tell me those kinds of details.”
“Then I want a name.” Voight says. “Who did you pay to do this?”
“His name is Jerry Watkins.” he says, looking down. “He was a CI when I worked in organized crime.”
“Do you know names of anyone else who was involved?”
“He said he would take care of it. I didn’t ask questions.”
“Hey boss?” Adam says, still looking through the records. “He’s been exchanging calls with that burner phone for a couple days. Even before Jennings was killed.”
“This wasn’t an opportunist grab was it?” Voight asks. “This whole mess has been you, right from the beginning.”
“Someone needed to shine some light on the way your unit steps outside the lines whenever it benefits you.” Austin says. “Even if it meant crossing a few lines myself.”
“All we’ve got here is you arranging to have a gang banger murdered.” Voight says, leaning forward. “You arranging to have a Chicago Police Detective kidnapped and an officer put in the hospital. You covering up evidence. My unit has handled this by the book.”
Austin just makes a face and shakes his head.
“I don’t have time for this.” Voight says, shaking his head. “I have to go find Jay.”
He stands up, following Adam out of the room and meeting up with the rest of his team and the Superintendent in the hallway.
“I will handle Austin.” the Superintendent says. “I’ve already reached out to Internal Affairs and the District Attorney’s office.”
“We’re going to focus on Detective Halstead.” Voight says. “What did we find on this guy, Watkins?”
“Austin was actually telling the truth about him being a CI.” Hailey says. “But he’s been off paper almost ten years. LKA seven years old but worth checking out. Long list of associates to go through.”
“Anything come up on a deed search?”
“Not in his name.” Kim says. “Or linked to any relatives.”
“Next of kin?”
“His mother, Janice, lives in an assisted living facility.” Kevin says.
“Alright.” he says. “Let’s run with it then. Hailey, you and Kev go talk to his mom. Kim and Adam check out the LKA.”
They scatter.
The mom ends up being the key.
The payments for her room at the facility have come not from Watkins but from a friend of his. The friend’s name links them to a vehicle and they are able to track it far enough on plate scanners to find a warehouse.
Where they find Jerry Watkins with a gun pointed at Jay’s head.
Two minutes and a bullet in Watkin’s head later, Hailey is kneeling next to her partner who hasn’t moved.
He groans when she cuts his hands free and rolls him onto his back but his eyes don’t open.
Even when she asks him to open his eyes, all he can do is twitch his fingers but it’s enough. Hailey brushes against his hand, taking hold of it when he doesn’t show any pain.
She does her best to reassure him that’s his safe, that paramedics are coming; tells him that Austin is getting the book thrown at him.
She’s surprised when he starts talking, choking out the name of the patrolman who’d been injured during his abduction.
“Officer Tanika is going to be just fine.” she promises him. “You did good getting him help so quickly. He had a pretty serious concussion.”
He passes out not long after that, just as the paramedics rush up to them.
She’s trying not to panic but it’s hard.
She’d seen the video these guys had sent to Austin. Even less than a minute of the beating that he’d taken has her worried and she knows it had gone on a lot longer than that.
The worry doesn’t even start to lift until nearly four days later when his eyes finally flicker open.
He still can’t talk because of the ventilator or really move but she’ll take just having his blue-green eyes open and staring back at her, his hand tightly squeezing hers.
“Welcome back.” she says, leaning forward to kiss his forehead. “I missed you.”
He just blinks at her.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
She smiles. Everyone always jokes about the way that they can have entire conversations with their eyes and she’s sure they’ll have plenty of those as his lungs continue to heal.
But this is a little more straightforward than that.
“I love you too.”

Jeezy and Jeannie Mai's split after two years of marriage sent shockwaves on Friday as it was revealed the exes are "currently living in a bona fide state of separation."
RadarOnline.com has obtained the new divorce docs filed September 14 at the Superior Court of Fulton County in Georgia, in which the rapper seeks joint physical and legal custody of their daughter, Monaco, "on a temporary and permanent basis."
Jeezy (real name: Jay Wayne Jenkins) stated their marriage was "irretrievably broken" and "there is no hope for reconciliation."
He asked the court to handle the final "decision-making" and determine a "specific parenting time schedule" that is consistent with "the best interests" of their child.
The exes welcomed their daughter in January 2022 following their March 2021 nuptials. In addition to the child he shares with Mai, Jeezy is the father of three children from prior relationships.
The rapper stated their marriage was "irretrievably broken" and "there is no hope for reconciliation."
Jeezy stated that both he and Mai have an obligation to contribute to the "support, maintenance, and education" of their daughter, also noting that "child support should be "determined in accordance with Georgia law."
The Put On hitmaker and television host signed a prenuptial agreement ahead of their wedding, which he wants "enforced" by the court as it would resolve "all financial issues incident to this divorce."

name: Belladonna “Bells” Hazel Delaney
what: Death spirit and witch
age: Appears early 20’s
birthday: July 25
occupation: Black Magic Dealer
location: New York
faceclaim: Haley Lu Richardson
status: Selectively Open to AUs
relationship: Married to Hawk
parents: Avalon and Alexi
siblings: Valencia, Brittia, Jack, Nyla, Blake, Ren, Evelyn, Valerian, Wisteria, Amaranth, Ivy, Hemlock, Camellia, Vervain, Cypress, Nikolai, and Finn (has guardianship of Finn)
kids: Fiero, Malachi, Creedance, Hazel, Jullian, Molly, Jason, Fulton and Marissa, Amber, Byrne, Finn, Micah, Jai, and Darcy
Belladonna is definitely her father’s daughter, there is no doubt about that. But she has her mother’s sarcastic recklessness in spades. It’s a good thing she’s more on the immortal side or it could really get her into trouble.
The first time she really did any kind of magic, she had been a mere child, in kindergarten of all things. Another child had pushed her and Belladonna had punched him the face, hard enough to give him a bloody nose, and then she repeated a spell she had read in one of her dad’s books. The boy ended up in a coma and she was no longer allowed to attend public schools. None of them are exactly sure how she managed to remember that particular one or how she had learned to pronounce the words correctly since Latin wasn’t exactly something she knew all that well at the time.
Much to her mother’s eternal frustration, Bells hasn’t mellowed out at all since growing up. But, every time she’s told that she’s going to be the death of her mother, she just rolls her eyes and laughs because her mother is immortal and too dramatic some days.
Bells is fluent in English, Greek, and Latin, she has a decent grasp of German and Gaelic. She knows a small amount of Spanish and French, but not nearly as much as she probably should.
Despite all of the chaos that comes with her chosen line of work, Bells is very devoted to her husband and kids. She also has a habit of just adopting grown ass adults and bringing them home with her when it suits her.
Her favorite band is Creedence Clearwater Revival and her favorite place is Waffle House.

[Ed. note: The following contains spoilers for The Witcher season 3 and Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher novels.]
